in this video I'm going to break down my most viral short form video ever I posted it 8 days ago 46 million views 14.5 million on Instagram 6.5 million on Tik Tok 23 million on LinkedIn 2.1 million on YouTube shorts now anytime you have a video go this viral in multiple different places you want to study it intensely because content really is an outliers game and when you get one the best way to spend your content analysis time is to reverse engineer why the outlier happened and that's exactly what we're going to do in this
video so I'm going to break down three things first I'm going to take the idea as a whole and I'm going to walk through my virality formula and talk about why this idea had viral potential second I'm going to open up this script document and I'm going to walk through six things that I did when writing the script to give this the best chance for viral success and third I'm going to then open up the full edit in Premiere Pro I'm going to show you the timeline I'm going to walk through eight things I did
in the edit to give it the best chance to go viral this will be a master class in short form virality after you watch this video you'll have everything you need to understand how to make your content go more viral all right so before we get into anything I just want to play the video on the screen if you've already seen it just fast forward 60 seconds we'll start that now check this out this guy's building a real Iron Man suit in his garage but to do it he had to invent the world's first personal
hydrogen reactor it's insane this is Alex he's a Russian engineer and his fans call him the real Tony Stark now in order to make this suit functional he had to invent a bunch of new things the actor is one but he also built this a Pneumatic sensor system that links the suit's movement with his own so when he flexes it flexes just like the one in the movie he also designed a plasma propulsion system to make the jet thrusters and Cutters actually work it's pretty nuts but the craziest part of all is that he's been
documenting the whole Journey on YouTube 6 years countless videos his channel is called Alex lab and every video has millions of views now after 6 years the fully finished suit is about to debut soon and he really did it in a cave with a box of scraps all right so I want to get into to the idea breakdown first and specifically before you script or edit or do any of that work first thing you should do is gut check does this idea have viral potential now it's not important that every single video goes viral I
actually recommend a Content strategy that's a mix of broad top of funnel virality with narrow deep content designed to build depth but I'm trying to maximize my unit time spent and so viral videos give me the most reach and the most Effectiveness for my time spent that's why I try to vet everything I make through this viral content formula now if you haven't seen the formula I'll link the video here where I broke down everything in super deep detail gave examples everything you need to go viral is in there so the first three variables that
matter and these are probably the most important variables honestly in the virality formula is the idea the addressable audience and then the point of view or the story lens all right so when it comes to idea you really have two options you can either go common or uncommon common is something like apple just dropped the iPhone 16 anybody with a pulse that open social media would see that uncommon is something weird or unique or on the edge that most people haven't come across before if you're going to go for virality you want to go for
uncommon if possible so in this case the video idea was a Russian engineer building a real functional Iron Man suit in his garage that is about as uncommon as you can get if it hasn't already been shared by someone else so that's check one right off the bat I knew this idea had some potential when I came across just based on the uncommon nature of the idea now the second piece in the formula is to look at the applicable audience size how many people would potten share this or be interested in Sharing if it came
across their feed because if you have an uncommon idea but the applicability of the audience is super small it's probably not going to go viral there just aren't enough people to share it when it finds them for example if this idea was a Russian engineer builds a toy train set in his garage that's kind of Niche right the only people that would share that are people that are into engineering or into trains it's too small to go viral in this case I knew that the applicability of the audience was anybody who's into Iron Man the
movie the Marvel movie or anyone that was into robotics or engineering together that some total of applicable audience is pretty large so right there I had an uncommon idea plus a abnormally large audience I knew that if I was able to execute that priming had the chance to go super viral and the way I validated that and how you should validate this as well is I saw a video about this on Twitter that video had 12 million views and was actually a terrible video edited poorly no storytelling so I knew this already was validated now
the third variable that matters is point of view or story lens typically if you pick a common idea like if I was just making a video about the Marvel movie Iron Man I'd want a unique story lens or point of view on top of it because if I make a common idea that people have seen before they're not going to share it so you need common idea and unique lens or if you have uncommon idea it's fine to just go with a normal lens like just a story tell or tell people exactly what happened in
this case I didn't go with a Marvel movie the lens was kind of baked in in the fact that it was a Russian engineer making his own Iron Man suit so I didn't really need to go crazy with the lens I could just tell people exactly what I saw and that's what I did in this step this seems easy but this is a critical piece if you're trying to get videos that break out and have tons of views you have to have cracked this threepiece variable set of the virality formula you have to have an
uncommon idea or a common idea with an uncommon point of view and you need an unnaturally large applicable audience if you don't have those things if those three things are not true I don't care what you do how great of a story you tell that video is not going viral and if you want to know why that's true you can either watch this virality formula video that I put together where I explain exactly the psychology behind why things go viral or I actually built a 5-day free series that kind of walks through my thinking in
way more detail it's at virality blueprint.com it's like a little 5-day free ebook you can download that and go through the course that helps break down the psychology it's really important to know the psychology behind why things go viral all right so that's part one that's the idea so I knew that I had something here if I could execute and that's step one now let's go into the execution so we're going to transition now into the script I'm going to pull up the script and we're going to walk through it all right here we go
so this is the script document nothing fancy just to Google doc you can see the full script here this is a 45C video so it doesn't even take up a full page what I've done is I colorcoded the script I copied it six times and colorcoded each piece that we're going to talk about so I'm going to scroll down to each version I'm going to walk through exactly what I do in the script now every script varies but there are some principles and some things you can extract away from the script that you can start
applying to videos immediately and I'll call out one thing the biggest request I've gotten from other creators entrepreneurs marketers everybody who's trying to crack short form video they look at me as someone who understands storytelling expertly and what they want is a tool that could package the way I think about storytelling into some software some platform that would allow them to write video scripts immediately and that's what I'm building it's called sandcastles it's at sandcastles we're finishing it up now there's a wait list there if this is interesting to you if you want a piece
of software that will allow you to immediately Sprint through the storytelling part write a script iteratively come up with the angle come up with the story lens talk to you if you want that it's going to be really cool make sure you're on the wait list sand castle. a the people that are on the wait list before we launch are going to get a preferred price forever so if it's interesting check that out now let's get back to this let's go through the six things all right so I'm going to scroll down now the very
first thing you see is this yellow so I just want you to look at this first couple sentences this is what I call the Curiosity Loop and it's very simple when you hear the first sentence does it invoke this maddening curiosity that makes you want to hear the second sentence if you don't open a loop in somebody's brain where they're curious enough to watch on to close that Loop you've lost them and so the number one thing that I do when I'm writing they call it the hook the body whatever people overblow it all you
need is a curiosity Loop and so in yellow here I've highlighted my curiosity loop I say check this out at the beginning you don't need to do that this guy's building a real Iron Man suit in his garage but to do it he had to invent the world's first personal hydrogen reactor now that is a banger curiosity Loop if you've ever seen Iron Man which to go back to the idea large appable audience I knew a lot of people have seen it this guy's building a real Iron Man suit in his garage I knew that
if I had a visual to go with that immediately that alone would be like what he's building a full Iron Man suit now you may have seen that before there's probably four or five people online that are building the suit but to differentiate he had to invent the world's first personal hydrogen reactor when you hear that and you see the chest piece on him glowing which I knew I had that as a visual and we'll get to that in the edit I knew that created a curiosity Loop so strong that if you've seen Iron Man
or not you were just shocked that this is even possible you'd have to read on you'd have to listen on you'd have to follow along in your videos the ones that haven't done well I guarantee you haven't created a deep enough curiosity loop around whatever you're talking about so that's step one got to have the Curiosity Loop now step two there's two things here and it all goes into this idea of Rhythm and variance okay so something I teach is I want you to look down the script what you don't see is every sentence the
same length you don't see a clear rectangle you see Jagged edges why is that there's a principle in writing and reading that if you vary the Rhythm and the length of each sentence it creates more unpredictability it creates a better Rhythm to the ear than if you were saying the same length sentence over and over and to prove it to you I will say two things the first thing listen to this first thing you can close your eyes he had jumped over the river the river was really Brown the brown River was in his way
he crossed the river and went along see how boring that sounds it's like so predictable you just PLS along instead if you listen to the way I read this this is Alex he's a Russian engineer and his fans call him the real Tony Stark now in order make the suit functional he's had to invent a bunch of new things the reactor is one but he's also built this and I said that one obviously with a little bit more pace and passion but you can hear the Cadence and the length of sentences really varies the delivery
speed if you really think about it and I've mentioned this in other videos rhythm is the most important thing to making anything videos are really just audio and audio varies with rhythm people hear in Rhythm your voice is like an instrument and so you want to vary the sentence length that's the first thing you notice now the second thing are these little red lines I call these tags what these are are these little Jabs you know when a comedian is putting a set together they write a joke they're setting up for a punchline but along
the way they have these little things called Tags so they'll just come in and then bang just like a little jab jab jab and then they'll set up for the huge Haymaker punchline I try to do the same thing every so often in the video I write these little tags three four words just rhythmically it helps offset the plotting along of the long sentences and so you don't have to do it like me in fact I'd encourage you not to because unless you deliver in the way I deliver and I used to rap so like
you can hear kind of the Rhythm in my voice unless you deliver in this way I wouldn't try to force these in but when you're writing if things start to seem monotonous and plotty just add a little tag in a little three four word thing that will helps get people back off balance that will help add more Rhythm so that's that's tip number two is make sure the sentences vary in length and the easiest way is just to look at the script and make sure it has Jagged edges it's not a straight edge and then
two is consider adding some tags in throughout to help break up the pace all right let's go to piece number three so piece number three is reh hooking now a lot of people the gurus the content gurus they all say you want a hook and then you want to have a body and then you want to have a close I think that's nonsense I don't think that's how you should do it the hook is what keeps someone interested so what you should really do is hook and then rehook and then rehook and then rehook and
until the end so the video is made up of three or four sentence phrases each phrase should end in a hook the Curiosity loop at the beginning you should be hooking them they should be wanting to hear the next piece and again and again and again this is what helps pull them through you don't want to push through the video you want this the words and the phrasing to pull them through so the best way to hook is to use the words but or therefore to create some conflict in the words and so if you
look at the green I've actually used but three times so I've got three hooks in here to re hook then rehook then rehook now this is only a 45 second video so there's only so many times you can hook and if you say but too frequently it kind of sounds off it's like you're forcing it in so you really only want to use it when it makes sense but here I've used it three times so the first one was at the very beginning but to do do it he had to invent the world's first personal
hydrogen reactor so I was adding some conflict he made the suit but he had to overcome this crazy thing to make it work so that was the first one the second one is the reactor is one but he also built this so again it's like we just talked about this one thing but wait there's one other thing so that's a second hook and then the third Hook is he did this this is but the craziest part of all is this right so you've heard all these things but weit there's more it's really a lot of
these variations of but weight there's more you want to hook rehook rehook rehook rehook as long as you can that's the third trick and you can see I've done it three times in 45 seconds every time you hook and I'll show you in the edit the way that you use visuals to kind of hook them as well every time you hook it ads to retaining that viewer longer all right so now we're going to go to number four now number four is what I call clickbait now in order to make a video go viral you
kind of need to add some dissension or some hidden phrases that will cause comments sadly the best way to get engagement is comments the best way to get comments is to cause dissension if you're 100% on one side or the other everyone's going to be like agree agree agree that's not going to drive dialogue if there's no dialogue in the comments the video will not spread now you may not want arguments in the comments I don't want arguments in the comments but I definitely am okay with people taking multiple sides of position if it makes
sense what you can also do is hide certain words and phrases in the script which you know will drive comments and so I did that a couple times here the first one is I said first personal hydrogen reactor now the source material I saw and when I watched this guy's videos he said this is the first working personal hydrogen reactor so I just took that but I Knew by including it in that way first personal I knew people were going to be like there's no way that's impossible to create this is a lie this is
faked I knew people were going to say that I purposely said it this way to drive those comments the second thing is I could have said this is Alex he's an engineer but I specifically put Russian I knew I knew putting Russian engineer would matter one because the US vers Russia thing and two because in Iron Man he has a lot of villain that are Russian engineers and I knew people would comment I didn't think it would be this crazy I didn't think it would go this viral but if you look at the comments across
the platforms a lot of people were like he's the real Ivan Veno and the reason they did that is because I hammered the Russian point so that was a second thing I didn't have to put it in and I didn't really hurt me like I'm not being offensive but I did put it in on purpose early because I knew it would drive clickbait the third thing is calling him the real Tony Stark again this is something that he refers to himself as his followers refer to it in the comments but I knew including Tony Stark
which is a common character a common person a common name that people know it creates something they can grab on to when I think about writing videos I think a lot about mountain climbing you need to give people holds to climb up if you try to climb a mountain that was completely smooth they can't grab on and lifts up so you you want to give them holds and celebrities brand names anything people can relate to is like a hold that they can pull themselves up on so that was the third thing the fourth thing is
I said he had to invent a bunch of things which to me he did invent to him he did invent he said he invented all the source material I saw said he invented it but again I knew people in the comments were going to be like there's no way this Russian dude with a welding torch in his garage and Ed there's no way there's all these scientists I knew people were going to say that I was trying to cause those comments to come out and then the fifth thing is just like the one in the
movie and so I used that because I wanted people to create that frame and I knew I could add visuals in to create that kind of like comparison everybody knows the movie nobody knows this guy if I say just like the movie it reminds them of the movie again another hold for them to climb up on so I don't always put this many things in there that will cause clickbait comments but I find that the more you do this without sacrificing your morals and your ethics in your position the better all right so the fifth
thing and this is kind of something that's a little bit unique to me like it naturally comes to me but it's simplification so anytime in a video you can take a complex idea and simplify it down to like really really simple dumb terms it's so much easier for people to relate to and it's not about people being smart or dumb it's just it's so much easier to hear a simple concept and be like Wow versus hearing some complex jargon that you don't know and trying to fill in the gaps in real time it just makes
it harder and so in this case in the purple I've highlighted a couple times where I tried to take what was complex and then simplify it down so I said the complex was a Pneumatic sensor system that links the suit's movement with his own so when he flexes it flexes that's a much you know when he flexes it flexes a much simpler way to say that and also I knew I had a visual where he was flexing and it was flexing so I knew that would parall well together the other one was when I said
he also designed a plasma propulsion system to make the jet thrusters and Cutters actually work so nobody knows what plasma propulsion system means but when I said make the jet thrusters work and you see the jet thrusters working it's a simpler way to say it and if you have a pair Visual and you say it in a simple way that really helps people again add more holds for people to climb up the mountain with you all right and now the last thing and this is really critical is the last line the end line the last
dab I call it of the script and that's in this orange color you really want to find a way to incorporate an interesting question or a joke or a reference at the end because humans are simple and their attention spans are super short they're just going to remember the last second or two of what you said you could do all that work and if you ask somebody a day later what they saw they'd be like I think I saw something about Iron Man but that's all I remember so sadly once you get them to the
end nothing matters but the end and so at the end what I try to do is add a question or something relatable that will make them share and so in this case I knew like using a line for the movie would be cool if I could force it in and so there's this line where Tony Stark builds the suit in the cave and then they're trying to replicate it at Stark Industries and you know the engineer comes up to the villain it's like I can't do this like we have so many Engineers working on it's
not working and then he yells back like Tony Stark did this in a cave with a box of scraps it's like a famous line from the movie and so I knew that this kind of looked like in the videos this guy was doing this with a box of scraps like in a dark cave so if I found a way to relate that to the movie and then show visually he was the same as Tony I knew that would be like an amazing last dab now the thing I underestimated was how many people would comment that
line so so many people were like he did it in a cave with a box of crabs they just said it again like it was a joke that they were like in on the joke with me all those comments drove so much sharing so I actually underestimated how power powerful that would be but I recommend including something that's Punchy at the end that people can react to all right so just a recap it's one creating a curiosity Loop you got to have a loop that people actually want to go down two it's using Rhythm and
sentence variability to create something that's pleasurable to listen to Three it's reh hooking hook then rehook then rehook then rehook continue hooking four it's using specific words you can call it clickbait if you want to drive comments around a memorable phrase or a person or brand name five it's simplification taking complex ideas and simplifying them in a way that people can grab on to and six it's using a last dab the end line something funny witty something people will remember that they'll want to share those are the six things I did in this video those
will help you in every video all right let's go on to part three which is the edit all right we're in the edit we're in Premiere Pro now the idea is a banger and the script is great you still need the edit you still need the visual packaging you need some hacks and tricks to make sure that visually it works it can still work and do pretty well with just the idea and if you just point and shoot with the phone but if you really want to take off and go super viral the visual packaging
in the edit is the third piece so what I want to do is go through eight different things in the edit that I did specifically to try to engineer this virality now you can't guarantee it but you can try to do these things that give it the best chance to go viral so we're going to walk through that right now all right so step number one before you start the edit what you really want is what I call a key visual so in order to make videos you got to have some b-roll some video right
if it's just you on the screen it gets boring you need some graphics some visual something to show to illustrate your point now what you want is a key visual which is some other video from someone else some other company some demo somebody else did it you're going to use that key visual as your b-roll now you may be watching this and think oh that's unfair like other people put a lot of time look the thing is with the internet everything is a remix on each other so as far as I'm concerned if I put
something out somebody else can use it if somebody else puts something out I can use it I try to credit as best I can I try to tag my whole goal is to get millions of eyes sent through to the original Source material so people that are in the comments complaining that people borrow stuff so many people have ripped my videos and reposted it that's how the internet works so the point is you want a key visual that helps illustrate your point and if possible you want to tag and send all that traffic back to
those people in this case the key visual I had which is why I made the video was this guy Alex the Russian engineer that made the Iron Man suit he has a YouTube channel with over a million subscribers and what he does is he uploads videos showing how he makes all these different things and so so if you look on the timeline this is just one of the videos right this is just one of the videos of him going through and you know he's a great job of filming this and so I knew between this
and the source video we saw on Twitter we had so much footage that we could use to visualize our point but I really recommend that if you don't have a key Visual and you're not good at animating from scratch you're going to have a hard time making a video that's compelling because what are you going to show to illustrate your point right picture's worth a th000 words video is worth a th000 pictures you want Source video to show so that's Point number one is you really want to keep it visual now I'm going to zoom
in here Point number two is the visual hook this is what people do not talk about enough the written Hook is not enough I'll say it again the written Hook is not enough what you're showing on the screen matters more than what you say in the hook why is this people see before they hear they can digest what they're seeing and process it faster via their eyes than they can their ears and so at the end of the day what you're showing matters so so much so I want to show you in the timeline how
I think about hooks so I'm going to just play this check this out this guy's building a suit in his and again this is processing at quarter speed so it's going to seem a little blurry but it is very smooth it's just the some of these files are too big to play full speed but what I want to show you is there's a few things I did in this visual hook specifically to hold retention the first thing is you want the visual to complement the Curiosity Loop so in the Curiosity Loop in the script what
I said is this guy's building a real Iron Man suit so just watch the visuals that play check this out right here you see the Iron Man helmet then you see an Iron Man suit with an arrow pointed to the Iron Man suit that helps direct your eyes directly to what I'm talking about then you see the Iron Man suit helmet on then you see him shooting the Iron Man suit and all this is in the garage right so check this out this guy's building a real Iron Man suit in his garage I did my
best with the clips to grab your attention visually so it connected so that's step number one is you want the the visual b-roll like the graphics or the videos you're using to match what you're saying these are the five videos I use that's that's step number one in the visual hook step number two and this is the most important thing the most important thing you got to have text on the screen I'm not talking about captions I'm talking about title text that people can read people will read the text 10 times out of 10 if
you don't believe me open my videos and tell me what the first thing is you watch it's always the text sliding across I didn't used to do this I was able to go viral luckily without doing this since I started doing this I go viral every single time this is the hack I shouldn't be sharing but it's the truth add text to the video you'll go more viral and so here I said Russian engineer builds Iron Man suit now do not copy my style because people will see it but you can't not copy putting text
on right you put text on the screen you put background color behind it that's all you have to do I like to put things that match what I'm saying but aren't exactly the same so I knew Russian engineer to our script point was going to be viral so I put Russian engineer first word you read is Russian I wanted you to think it's Russian I wanted you to think it's cool look at it see him looking Russian immediately want to comment oh no the US is in trouble that's what I was trying to create in
this Cyclone of a hook so step number two is you have to include text on the screen to tell people what the video is about 50% of people watch it without sound so if you know if that's not enough of an indicator hopefully what I'm saying will put you over all right tip number three on the edit is music now you can see you don't have to be a premere pro expert to understand how this works everything below this main line here is audio everything above is video and so this first track this A1 track
this is my spoken audio there's two different colors just because my editor likes to split whenever there's split screen it's green and then whenever it's full screen it's red you can see so there's two different colors of the audio but everything on this first track is my spoken word the next track is the Main Music of the video now you're not going to be able to hear it because I'm not playing the audio through as I play this back but we're going to play clips from the video as I'm talking about it so you can
understand what I'm saying in this case you want to use music that complement the video so I thought it'd be kind of cool to use like that Iron Man song The Black Sabbath Iron Man song or something of that vein so I went on YouTube I searched what are the songs in Iron Man it's all this ACDC Black Sabbath so I found one that worked and then what I did is I dropped the volume a ton and I put a low pass on the song Why do you want to put a low pass a low
pass allows the low frequencies to come through but the high frequencies it cuts out why do you want to do this my voice is a higher frequency so I don't want the vocals in the song if there are any or even the instruments in the song to muddy up the clarity of my voice so I cut the high frequencies and I just have the low frequencies come through that's what gives it that under water kind of muffled tone but all you need is a little bit of that music in the background for you to kind
of get the vibe so number three is you want to pick music that matches the vibe of the video this is a little bit more art than science I'm going to have a community and a membership that helps explain these types of things oneon-one like I'll take somebody's video and explain it which music or which song I would use there's more to come in that check the description but at the end of the day this is a little bit more art than science but you want to make sure you pick a song that matches the
video now number four is the hook now we already talked about the main hook and using the VIS visual hook I want to talk about the hooks and the re hooks throughout and kind of what I do visually in the edit so again because you can't hear the sound we're going to play this little Snippets of this as I'm talking about it we'll I'll say it we'll cut it we'll show you what I'm talking about and then flip back but what I do whenever there's a a hook moment so kind of like a butt weight
moment what I do is I use a riser sound effect so I'm going to show you here frame by frame I use a riser sound effect which creates that and then right when it hits I switch and I do a three two or three key frame huge jump in right so you can see the scale here in terms of you'll watch this Zooms in right this is the scale effect right now it's at 178 over the course of in this case we did five frames or six frames it goes from 178 to 190 so the
combination of the Riser effect with the rapid scale increase creates this effect which kind of holds your attention I'll play it in real time and then we're going to show you with the sound as well new things the reactor is one but he also built that it kind of like just grows right in your face when you do that and you switch from split to full and you use the Riser it it really creates this important moment that kind of like stops the momentum I also stop the music right at this point as well so
it's this Crescendo moment and I do that you can see I do that throughout the video so I've got one here at the beginning I've got one here in the middle and then I've got one here actually I think I just did two cuz sometimes if you want to keep the song going you don't want to create that Riser shortcut effect or that Riser stoppage effect so yeah it varies but in this case I did two of those and if you watch the video there's two abrupt stopping points which kind of rehook you back in
so that's step four that's how you visually adjust hooks in the edit to kind of accentuate the moment all right step five very simple is use arrows so if you look throughout the edit I like to use arrows to point to what I want you to look at it sounds super simple but people's eyes will go wherever you direct so anytime there's a visual on the screen that represents the thing I want you to look at because it will bring home the point I use an arrow see here's another arrow I'm talking about the personal
hydrogen reactor I'm using the arrow to point to it I use this thing called Premier composer if you go to MRH horse.com m i s t r horse.com I don't have an affiliate link or anything the greatest pack for arrows and lines and little like preset animations that you can use MRH horse.com so these arrows are from there you can like adjust anything you want the speed the bounce the color the size whatever you want so I use arrows throughout not too many but you know a couple usually at the beginning step six is the
caption so if you watch my videos I use two types of captions on screen the first is these kind of yellow captions with the red background I use this font called Roa Roca again I wouldn't recommend copying it just cuz it's going to look the same as me and people call it out you can if you want though it's fine you could use helvetica you could use aerial whatever you want I use Roa heavy and yeah I think Roa heavy let's check yeah Roka one heavy and that's a free font and so I like this
size 48 font I like it this yellow with a little bit of Red Shadow here's my settings if you want to copy it I like this cuz because it pops out it looks a little different everybody uses those kind of bold captions and so I use a combination of these with Bolder text when I'm trying to emphasize something so let's see a moment where I'm doing the boulder text would be like well here I included kind of Boulder text on the on the above also if you want this effect by maximize uses this a lot
it's just go uh put the image down and then for under opacity go to blend mode and go to difference difference will basically like invert whatever color is behind the letter it will invert it so that it's one way to kind of like have text pop that's not what I'm talking about what I'm talking about is when I have just white text on the screen so I got to find like right here so sometimes when I have full screen where there's no b-roll I try to hold somebody's attention by including bigger words with like a
more pronounced font so in this case but he also built this could have used yellow but I just used white to kind of vary the eye level sometimes if it's too stale people will churn so you kind of want to mix I like to mix between the yellow captions and the white um but that's that's like a base thing but you want to make sure have captions because 50% of people like I said aren't watching this with sound so it's really important that you have those all right number seven and we're almost to the end
number seven is pacing so if you listen to my video it's moving pretty quick like when you watch this it's like bang bang bang bang it's not too fast where it's like overwhelming but it's also there's no dead space is not too slow like I cut a lot of the extra dead frames between the sentences because I don't want people to linger I want it to be really really Crisp And if you a way to check this is if you close your eyes and you listen to the video is it moving at a pace where
you get bored or is it moving M at a pace that's fast enough to keep you entertained if not you need to cut more of the Dead Space cut more of the breaths in between or like if you're lingering on a word you need to cut that so step seven is you want to make sure the pacing is tight and you can tell how finally I cut it because look at all the cut lines between these clips this was one take I look at the script and I look up and I go one line at
a time obviously I cut that space but some of these are four or five cuts within a sentence I'm just trying to like really really dial the pacing in as fast as I can that complement the BPM of the music all right in Step eight I don't actually do this all the time I accidentally did it but I do think this did help is you want to create a loop so I try not to do this because I'm not really trying to go for two times views like if you watch my video once and maybe
you watch a little bit of the next run through fine but nobody's watching my videos multiple times unless I say something they really want to save but if you engineer a loop where the end frame really Loops back nicely with the beginning and people kind of lose themsel in where they are in the video you can kind of like juice out multiple views which help catalyze the algorithm so here this is the first line you see this helmet is being held in the upper half of the of the uh frame now look at the very
last frame the helmet is kind of in the same spot so a lot of people commented actually wow nice Loop and the loop actually drove viral comments which helped spur the growth so that was an accident actually I didn't try to do that but if you do engineer a loop that will help you too all right so that's all we got for this video that was a a master class honestly a super long video if you're still with me we went through the idea the script the edit that's the full enchilada with short form video
Everything I did for this video 46 million views 4 hours worth of work 8 Days 20 6,000 followers this is what you want right so it's not about this exact video you don't need to make video about Marvel Superheroes it's not about the topic it's about extracting the lessons when you do get an outlier so you can reverse engineer them and then use them in the next video that's the fastest way that I've figured out how to learn and grow so if you like this video comment down below let me know if I should make
more like this these are super in-depth I don't always do these but when I seem to audit my video process and extract the learnings people do seem to like it if you like the way I think about this stuff either the way I break down content or kind of the way I identify the trends and kind of simplify them I have a newsletter called content Department it's at content. game the URL it's free and every week I do this where I take a viral piece of content either mine or somebody else's or some Trend some
like Edge that I'm finding in content and I just share it back I've got 10,000 people reading that you should be reading that if you're a Creator or a marketer it would be good for you to be on that and read it because the amount of learnings that I'm sharing it will level you up so check that out if you want if not no worries and we'll see you guys on the next video peace
