Good morning, everyone. Good morning. Are you all well?
Who's happy here? Very good. It's great to be here with family, with community.
We've been here in this series, these past few days, talking about God's mission. And it's been a very intense, very encouraging time for us. Well, this week, in these last few weeks, we had member meetings here, right?
Who came here to the member meetings? That's right. And Dougas made a report here regarding the church's finances, right?
You saw how much of the finances we raise here are allocated to missions. Hey, I also want to honor Michael's life, his family, for everything they're doing, directing everything related to the mission here. So, we're very excited for what God is doing, because the word he's pouring out here in this community is going out from here, reaching people, touching the nations.
To give you an idea, right now, today the brave ones are preaching there in Canada. So, we're talking about mission. Thiago is in Portugal preaching, Fábio is in Canada on Friday, we're going to Chile.
So, it's something the Holy Spirit is breathing here in this place, and it's not just about a few people, it's about a community. Amen. So, I want you to be encouraged and prepared, because there's an outpouring of the Spirit's power to fall here among us that will empower us to grow in cooperation with God's mission.
And if you're here, you're a victim of this. Amen. Hallelujah.
There's no escape, you're going to get screwed. Hallelujah. Amen.
Glory to God. Give us glory, people. We have a Pentecostal over there.
Amen. Come on, it's from the Northeast. Northeast, for sure.
I know this glory to God. He comes from the Northeast. God.
That's it. Look, there's another one from the Northeast there. Okay, okay, the thing is giving birth here.
God. Yeah, come on. There's more there.
Oh, dear Jesus, may the Lord help us. Oh, before the shooting starts, Michael asked me to talk about this book, The Apostolic Mission of the Church. This book is a bit of what we've been doing here as a deoscope movement.
So, a record of what we believe about mission. So, everything we're talking about here is written in this book, and it's for sale in the store. And I want to encourage you that if you buy the books in the store—this store is run by the school— all the money you buy books there goes to helping missionaries.
So I want to encourage you to do that. Well, today, today, we're going to do something different. I'm going to start by reading the verse we read at the end of every service.
And I want to ask you to include Matthew 28:18 here for us, and it will appear here at some point. So, we have a liturgy here where every service we end by reading this passage, but we're going to start the ministry here by reading it. This is a very important passage for the church because it speaks of the moment Jesus is resurrected.
After being resurrected with a glorious body, the Holy Spirit resurrects Jesus. He receives a glorious body and the God-man appears to the disciples and makes a proclamation, saying the following: "Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. ' How much authority?
Where? Hallelujah. So, Christ is the owner of creation.
Christ is the owner of all the earth. There is not a single inch of creation that does not belong to Jesus. He rules over time and space.
He sustains creation. He is the one who establishes kings and removes kings. He dominates history .
There is nothing that happens in creation that is outside of his domain. He is the Lord of lords, the King of Kings. He is the sovereign over creation.
His word sustains all reality. And he said, 'All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. ' Therefore, therefore, go, beginning of all nations.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. " But why do they go? Why did he say go?
That's why they go. But why what? Huh?
Because what did he say before? All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth. This world is in my hands.
The history of creation belongs to me. I rule over history. I am the son of man who has been given dominion over the nations.
from the hand of the Ancient of Days. He is the descendant of David, who will sit on the throne in Zion and rule all creation. He is the descendant of the woman who crushed the serpent's head on the cross, triumphed over darkness, and rose again on the third day.
He conquered sin, he conquered the devil, he conquered death. And there is nothing that can surpass the greatness of Christ's glory. He said, "All authority belongs to me in creation.
Therefore, go, go where? Everywhere and do what? Disciples.
And then he teaches, right? How does he make a disciple? By teaching to obey everything I have commanded you, and I will always be with you, until the end of time.
So, I want to begin here by saying the following: God's mission is the mission of the church. Amen? So Jesus has a mission, which is to redeem creation.
Because man in the garden, because of sin and disobedience, he opened the door to the curse of death. The curse of death affected creation. Not only Adam was affected by sin, not only his family, but the entire generation, all of humanity was affected because of sin.
And not only men were affected because of sin. In Genesis 3, God will say to Adam: "Why have you sinned? Because of your disobedience.
Cursed is the ground because of you. The earth has become cursed. " And he will say: "That is why thorns and thistles will grow on the earth.
" Did you know that there are things in creation that only came into existence after sin? Because of man's sin, the earth became cursed. Creation was affected because of sin.
Did you know that earthquakes, tsunamis, natural disasters, everything that happens in creation, God did not create creation to rebel against humanity, but because of man's sin, creation is groaning. So, these natural disasters that happen, people say like: "Ah, but why did God make the tsunami die so many people? Why did God create the earthquake and have so many people die?
Guys, God has nothing to do with this. All the turmoil in creation is the result of man's sin. Because back in the garden, God said to man: "Dominion over creation.
" Man had authority over creation. And because of sin, the sin that came upon man affected creation. And Jesus has a mission: to redeem creation.
The first Adam messed up everything because of sin, including creation. And Jesus, the last Adam, comes to redeem creation. And why?
And how did the first Adam mess everything up? By disobeying God, in the garden, on a tree. And how did the last Adam come to redeem?
By obeying even to death, being hung on a tree. And Jesus, after passing through the cross, he resurrects, he says: "Now, all authority has been given to me over creation. I have dominion over creation.
" Hallelujah! Glory to God! That's why he sent his disciples out to all the earth.
Amen. And make disciples in my name. Glory to God.
So this mission, the mission of the church, no, now I'm going to tell you something fun. The mission of the church is not for leaders, it's not for pastors. The mission of the church is for every believer.
So if you are a believer, you are part of the church. If you are part of the church, you are on a mission. So Jesus, when he appears to the disciples, he sends them out.
Now you go everywhere and preach the gospel. Make disciples, cast out demons, heal the sick, go in my name. Why?
Because I have all authority. You don't go because of your ability. You don't go because of human capabilities.
You don't go because you're good, no. You go because I conquered death. You go because I triumphed over devil.
I triumphed over sin. I shed my blood, I purchased for myself a priest of all nations. And now, because I have all authority, you go.
Go based on the authority of Christ. So, the authority of Christ is the driving force that leads us. Amen.
Glory to God. to fulfill the Great Commission. One of the things we hear most when we talk about mission is someone who says something like: "Oh, but I can't do it.
Oh, but I'm so bad. Oh, but I don't have the ability, and I came here to encourage you. Repeat after me: I'm bad.
I'm bad. I'm not capable. I don't I'm capable.
I have no ability. I have no ability. I can't.
I can't. I'm a failure. I'm a failure.
No, the prosperity gospel is happy right now, right? Gospel coaching too, right? You're bad, man.
You're worthless. I'm worthless. I am We here, everyone who preaches up here is bad, is worthless.
But why are we on a mission? It's not because of our abilities, it's not because of our qualities. It's not like that.
Those who are good, intelligent, they can do a mission. Those who are not so good, those who are bad, no, not them. We are on a mission not because of our merits.
We are not on a mission because of what we have become or what we have done. We are on a mission [ __ ] because of what Jesus did on the cross. Hallelujah.
Who understands? Amen. Jesus on the cross received all authority over creation.
He took it, he triumphed over the empire of darkness. And because of the power, sovereignty, and authority of Jesus, incapable people like us can participate in the mission, not because of our own power and ability, but because of the power of Christ. So, stop making excuses, saying you can't, no, no, no, no.
Oh, not me, I don't know, I'm bad. So just admit what's bad, man. But in grace and mercy, Jesus decided to include bad people.
And he has a strange habit of confusing those who think they are wise, using the unlikely. Hallelujah. So, everyone here, who is on mission, is unlikely.
Amen. Amen. Amen.
So, let's continue. And then Jesus says, what does he say? Go, repeat after me.
Go, go. Look at someone and say: Go, wow. Go.
It's like a miner. Go, wow. What are you going to do?
The mission of the church. And the mission of the church is about making disciples, about preaching the gospel. So, what does he say?
Go. Repeat after me. Go.
Go. Look back. It's like this.
Go. Go. Hallelujah.
And then what happens? Jesus, as I said, this is the moment he was resurrected, he appears to the disciples and he sends the disciples, he sends the church everywhere to fulfill the mission, that is, to preach the gospel, make disciples, and build the church in the nations. But Jesus has some strange things that honestly scare me a little.
In Acts 1, which is the same moment, this same period when Jesus appears after being resurrected with the disciples, he talks about something different. So let's open Acts 1, Acts 14. Here, Luke is describing this same moment.
And then, during this period when Jesus appears after resurrecting the disciples, he says: "On a certain occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them a command. " What had Jesus really told them? Go.
Then God gave an order. Don't leave Jerusalem, but oh Jesus, help me. Go, but wait.
Oh, help me. And when he says this, the hour is coming and it's already here. Oh Jesus.
And when he says this, Elijah will come and restore, restore all things. But Elijah has already come. Oh Jesus, this thing is really crazy.
So he says, "Go to all nations, go to all places, but wait. Come on, is it to go or to wait? It's confusing.
So he's telling us to go, but before going, he's saying that something needs to happen in the disciples' lives. Wait for the promise of the Father, which I told you about. And what is the promise of the Father?
Give us the next one, verse 5. Now this will appear. For John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit in a few days.
So the Pentecostals have already seen where this cult is going. Guys, peão, are you Pentecostal? Are you Pentecostal?
Fábio? I said, "No, I'm a little worse than that. There's only one person who is worse than me here in Pentecost, and that's Casca who's there, who is my friend who you'll see spinning in the mantle.
People from Recife, Pentecostals from Recife, when it's around the mantle, it's serious business. " Then Jesus says: "You go everywhere because I already have all authority over creation. " How much authority does Jesus have?
All. And what does all mean in Greek? Who knows?
All. Hallelujah. You are top-notch theologians here.
I'm shocked. You are a copy of Jesus. Same.
So if Jesus has all authority over creation, how much authority does the devil have? None. But if Jesus already has all authority over the nations, why does the devil still do what he does in the nations?
Time. Why? Because the church is not yet fulfilling its role in Jesus' mission.
He says: "Go, but wait. " Wait for what? For the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Let me ask a technical question. How did Jesus' public ministry begin? When?
At what moment? Blah, blah, blah. Wow, I just complimented you.
You guys are incredible theologians. Huh, talk a lot about baptism here. Jesus' public ministry begins with his baptism.
And what happens at baptism? He appears at the Jordan and meets John. Then John, a prophet, says, "Oh, I baptize with water for repentance of sin, but one greater than I is coming.
I am not worthy to even remove his sandal. And he who comes baptizes with the Holy Spirit. " And then John is baptizing in the Jordan, in the desert, with crowds coming to him.
And then Jesus appears to him, in the power of the Holy Spirit. John looks at Jesus and says, "This is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. " When he says this, John is pointing to the cross.
He is saying, this is the God-man who came down to shed his blood to redeem humanity from all nations. This is the suffering servant who will become cursed on the tree and absorb the wrath of God that was destined for us. He is the suffering servant of Isaiah 50 and 53.
And it says, "He who was crushed for our transgressions, the punishment that was upon him brings us peace. " and by his wounds we are healed. Glory to God.
And he's saying, "This is the perfect sacrifice, this is the high priest. " Hallelujah. Just as in the garden God killed an animal, shed innocent blood so that with the animal's skin he could cover the shame and nakedness of man, this is the perfect lamb who will with his blood purify the nations of all sin.
Then Jesus approaches John and says, "John, baptize me. " Oh, John, I'll never do it. You're the one who has to baptize me, Jesus.
Because think with me, what did John say? I baptize, I baptize for repentance of sins. We're together.
But one who is greater than I is coming, who baptizes with the Holy Spirit. Then, John, Jesus arrives: "John, baptize me. " Then, John, no, look, you have no sin.
Why do you want a baptism for repentance of sin? If you are the perfect lamb, you have no sin. You're the one who has to baptize me.
What did John want? What did John want? baptism in the Holy Spirit.
And then it's that conversation, Jesus gives God a pass. You know when God gives you a pass and you end up arguing with God? Who's ever argued with God here?
People in the gallery, who have ever been stubborn with God, raise your hand. Huh, people there who don't like it, who sit in the place where you can't be filmed. Hallelujah.
Who's ever been stubborn with God? And then God gives you a pass. Hallelujah.
You say: "I won't, I will, I won't, I will. " Then God said: "Go. " So Jesus gave John a pass.
He said: "John, I created you, man. The breath of life that sustains your breath, I sustain. So do what I command you to fulfill righteousness.
So John, okay, I think it's best to obey. John baptizes Jesus when Jesus is immersed in water. When he stands up, the Bible says that the Holy Spirit, the power of the Holy Spirit rests upon Jesus.
And a voice, glory to God, is released, heaven opens, and the Father speaks: "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. " You know, this is the moment Jesus' public ministry begins when the power of the Holy Spirit rests upon him. How interesting.
Jesus was conceived by the Spirit in the breath of Mary. But Jesus' public ministry only begins when the power of the Holy Spirit rests upon him. Hallelujah.
That's very interesting. You'll see Luke's account, which is hilarious. Jesus is empowered by grace, by the power of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit falls upon Jesus. He rises, and he rises to begin his public ministry. He rises to begin the ministry of the Messiah.
And then the Bible says that the Holy Spirit led him to be tempted by the devil in the wilderness. Wow, Cool. Who wants the Holy Spirit here?
Hallelujah. Who wants to be led by the Holy Spirit? Give me glory.
Who wants to be led by the Holy Spirit into the desert? Huh? No, I'm passing the test.
I'm passing the test. I'm in the desert. What a difficult place.
I'm at war, dear. Get in line. Everyone on mission is at war.
And the devil wants to end your life. The devil wants to end your family. He wants to silence the gospel from your mouth.
And Jesus wasn't afraid of the desert. Jesus wasn't afraid of the devil. On the contrary, the spirit, the grace and power of the spirit that was in him, the first thing the spirit directs him to do in public ministry is go to the desert to face the devil.
Hallelujah. Repeat after me. Being on mission.
Being on mission is facing the devil every day. Facing the devil every day. If you're afraid of the devil, you're screwed.
Because if you're afraid of the devil, it's because you owe him. But okay, let's get away from this topic, let's get back to the fun part. Then the Holy Spirit leads Jesus to be tempted by the devil.
He defeats the devil, triumphs over the devil, obeying the Father. And then it goes to say that he left the desert in the power of the Holy Spirit. Look at that blessing.
And then the first thing Jesus does is go to Nazareth and enter the synagogue, he opens the scroll, right, which was one of those really big scrolls, it wasn't the Bible like we have today. Imagine opening Isaiah and unrolling that scroll. Pentecostals also like this business of unrolling scrolls.
And he opens the scroll. Jesus reads Isaiah 61, which says: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the good news. " Oh!
And Jesus' public ministry begins. Jesus says in Acts, "You go, but first wait. " Why?
Because no one will get involved in the mission unless it is through the power of the Holy Spirit. Because as I said, you are weak, you are useless, I am useless, I am weak. We have no ability, we have no capacity whatsoever to participate in God's mission.
Imagine, it's God's mission, the ministry of reconciliation. Who are we to participate in this? But by the power of the Holy Spirit, by the grace of the Holy Spirit, we can become participants in the mission, not because of who we are, not because of what we've learned, but because of the action of the grace of the Spirit that works in us, empowering us to submit to the holiness and obedience of Jesus and become witnesses of his gospel.
Hallelujah! Glory to God. Today there's a big one, man, go urgently .
Today there's a big theological discussion happening on the internet. I love to fight over theology on the internet. And there are Pentecostals, Reformed, Charismatics , Charismatic Catholics, and Charismatic Messianic Jews.
There are many, many lines. There are neo-Pentecostal sects, there's all of that. And there's a big argument about the baptism in the Holy Spirit, okay?
But what is the evidence of the baptism in the Holy Spirit? Is it tongues, is it prophecy? Is it trembling, is it spinning in the mantle?
And the Reformed will say that the only evidence of the baptism in the Holy Spirit is salvation. So there's a big argument about this. But Jesus in Acts 1, he says what is the evidence of someone who has been baptized in the power of the Holy Spirit.
He says what is the evidence of someone who walks the earth in the power of the Holy Spirit. He says the evidence of someone who is filled with the Holy Spirit. He says what is the posture of someone whose heart is on fire with the Holy Spirit.
And in Acts 18, he will say, Acts 18, which will appear here at some point, Jesus says what is the greatest evidence of the Holy Spirit? Douglas was saying this somewhere I can't remember, we were traveling somewhere together. And he said this and it really struck me.
And Jesus said, "And they will receive power. " How many want power? People don't want it anymore.
People are giving up. Who wants the power of the Holy Spirit here? Hallelujah.
Amen. God, I do. But they will receive power when the Holy Spirit descends.
So, look how crazy. Just as the public ministry of Jesus, God incarnate, only begins after the Spirit descends upon him. He's saying that the same Spirit that descended upon him in the Jordan, he would descend upon every disciple of his in the nations.
Amen. Amen. So, you will receive power when the Holy Spirit descends upon you, and where will you be mine?
Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, the ends of the earth. So what is he saying? Wait, because the power of the Holy Spirit will fall upon you, and you, through the power of the Holy Spirit, will be my witnesses everywhere you are.
I have been praying for revival. I have been praying for an objective outpouring of the presence of the Holy Spirit falling upon us here in Bragança Paulista. Just so you understand what I'm saying, I'm praying for the Spirit to fall here in this room in such a way that the cars that passed by will start to stop, and people will cry inside their cars, and they will begin to be overcome by conviction of sin and repentance.
Because of an objective outpouring of the Holy Spirit falling here in this community. Amen. God, glory to God.
I'm praying for a level of power to fall so deeply here in this community that when someone with ADHD, depression, or suicidal thoughts enters the house church, enters the DNA and sits in the communion circle, the power of the Holy Spirit will fall on that meeting and people will be healed instantly. Hallelujah. I have, I'm praying that cold people, completely oblivious to God's mission, will be wounded by one with an incurable wound, with the fire of the Holy Spirit in our midst.
And it has nothing to do with convincing Douglas, Fábio Bravo, or Marcão. It has nothing to do with Michael Barroco saying, "Come on, people, let's do something about the mission. " I'm talking about the work of the Holy Spirit falling and convincing people who are weak, but God has an incredible habit of empowering weak people.
[Music] He says, "My power is made perfect in weakness. " He said to Paul, "You have a thorn in your flesh that's ruining your life, but I won't remove the thorn, because my grace is sufficient for you. " You know what's sufficient for you, Paul?
The power of my Spirit, the grace of my Spirit upon you is sufficient for you. And it's because of my power that you do what you do, even though you're weak. Oh, God.
I'm praying that teenagers here will be so filled with the fire of the Holy Spirit that when they start entering the schools during recess and start praying, their friends will start falling under demons, and then the teachers won't know what to do. It'll be crazy, and they'll have to call the DNA leaders to go and cast out the demons. Glory to God.
Amen. Glory to God. My prayer is that every person in this room who is involved with pornography and lies, through the action of the Holy Spirit, may be struck with a godly sorrow.
Glory to God. A presence of the Spirit in our midst so powerful that it convicts us of sin. The Spirit generates a sadness for God in us that makes us hate sin.
And no one will have to keep telling those couples they're having sex before marriage. You can't do that. The action of the Spirit in our midst will produce radical holiness, a baptism of holiness and purity among young people, among couples.
Who understands? Amen. Jesus is speaking.
Do you want to be effective in the mission? You need the power of the Holy Spirit. Michael Barroco scares me.
He starts saying, "No, but God is talking about Japan. Then God is talking about Europe, God is talking about the United States, God is talking about who knows where. Now God is talking about Argentina, God is talking about New York.
" I said: "Michael, God, is saying a lot of things, I'm getting scared. How are we going to deal with this business? Who are you going to send?
How are we going to manage all these places? We don't even have the people for that. And I look at it like this, look at the family in Skopje, look at Michael, Michael's crazy things.
Then I look at us, I said: "It's impossible, it won't work, we don't have the capacity to do this. " The other day Marcão came with this business about a new piece of land, I'll say, let's go, there's a piece of land there, all excited, then he shows the land, then there are the, then there are the things about the square footage, then how many thousand? I just keep thinking about how much this will cost.
And then he starts Talking about the business values, how much land costs, how much land is leveled, how much it costs to build the building. I said, "Guys, forget it, this is impossible. We can't do this," but then I remember that we are weak, incapable, and have no ability to do any of this.
But if the Holy Spirit falls upon us, who understands? He will empower people, He will raise up witnesses, He will raise up resources here among us where none exist. He will touch generous hearts that will start to receive offerings here, and soon we will have money to buy land.
We have missionaries to send to the nations, we have DNA leaders to fill Bragança Paulista, we have leaders to send everywhere. Amen. But it's not a persuasion strategy.
It's not—if you don't get involved with the mission, God will kill you, and your children will get cancer. You need to work for us, our mission. The work here in this house is not to convince you to work for us.
What we want is an outpouring of the Spirit so you understand that God is calling you to work for Him. So you came here unaware, came to visit here. Maybe you came to see Dougas, but he screwed up.
He didn't come. So you come. No, but you have to.
. . But you have to.
. . It's all like that.
You have to, like, sacrifice your life, sacrifice everything. It's like, like, the work of Christ. Give your life, sacrifice everything.
Hallelujah. It has to do with being led by the Holy Spirit. It has to do with making room for a level of power of the Holy Spirit within us that leads us, leads our lives.
Hallelujah. He gave us our dreams, and then you stop having dreams and start wanting to dream, to participate in what God is doing. Glory to God.
So what happens? Jesus appears to the disciples after being resurrected and says: "Go, you will invade the nations, you will invade every environment and you will testify. " And then, but he says: "Wait, because just as the power of the Spirit descended upon my life, in the Jordan, the power of the Spirit will descend upon you too.
And it is through the power of the Holy Spirit that you will walk the path of the nations everywhere. Glory to God. To be witnesses, because I already have all creation in my hand.
Hallelujah! And then the disciples, you know what's cool? I opened a verse to read.
It's been open since the beginning. Amen. And it won't be read.
And then I keep sketching for nothing. But here we go. So let's go to Acts.
We're in Acts one, right? It's getting hot in here. I don't know if it's me getting agitated, if it's the fire of the Spirit, or if it's Bragança who's gone, the cold has gone.
So they are in Acts one. And Jesus tells them to wait. What happens is that they go to a place called an upper room, which was a.
. . the word upper room means upper room.
And They're going to pray. This is very interesting. What are they going to pray for?
Let's read verse 14 here for us. Acts 1. And they all agreed with one accord.
Repeat after me. Unanimous. Unanimous.
This is wonderful. They had a word. Yes or no?
Yes. What was the word? Go.
And then Jesus, who gave the word, tells us how. How are you going to do this word? Through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Amen. Amen. God visits Elijah with his word and says it wouldn't rain.
And then the word of the Lord comes upon him again and tells him: "It's going to rain, go there and prophesy that it will rain. " Elijah goes there and prophesies that it will rain. If it were you, what would you do?
I'll tell you what I would do, because I am I, I am weak. I am I, I am bad. If God already said it would rain, which, oh, crazy, God already said it wouldn't rain, it didn't rain.
So, we already have a sign that this thing is working. Then God comes back and says it's going to rain. He tells me to go there and prophesy that it's going to rain.
I go. I hear God's voice, I prophesy that it's going to rain. If it were me, I'd find a place, sit on a chair, and wait for the rain to fall.
God already said it's going to rain. And God, whatever he says, he does. But what did Elijah do?
Elijah waited for the rain. Yes. But how did he wait?
Who remembers what he did? He goes up on the mountain and starts praying. Lord, send your rain.
But Fábio, God has already. . .
He didn't say it would rain. Why would you pray for God to do what he already said he would do? That's called intercession.
Intercession has to do with us fighting before God so that everything he already said he would do, everything he already wants to do, comes to pass now. But Elijah, the rain came at Elijah's first prayer. Yes or no?
Only those who read the Bible know. Yes or no? Elijah was a brave prophet.
So he prayed once, and God answered right away. No, he sent his servant, go there. Then the servant went.
There's no rain, Elijah. So, Elijah here, look, keep praying. Go again, servant Elijah.
I don't think so, I don't think there will be rain. And Elijah continues praying and sent the servant several times. While he was sending, what was he doing?
Praying. You know the Bible says that Elijah put his head on his knees and began to pray. You know what I believe?
It's just that Elijah gave birth to a rainstorm through intercession. Hallelujah. You know, a really painful birth, where something's going to be born, but that awful pain, I don't know what it is, but I can already see that your wife wants to kill you at that moment.
Wretch, what have you done to me? Elijah kept interceding and knocking and crying out until, glory be to God, he saw—or rather, his disciple, right? He saw a tiny cloud, about the size of a man's hand.
And when Elijah's disciple said, "Elijah, there's a tiny cloud, huh? Shameless. " Then Elijah said, "Let's run because there's a big storm about to hit.
" The 120 knew this. They knew God had told Elijah that a big rain was coming, but Elijah stayed up there on the mountain, oh, on the high place, crying out and knocking and crying out and knocking. Didn't Elijah make the covenant of the seven prayers?
Did you know that Elijah didn't make the covenant of the seven prayers? He didn't make the seven -day vow. And the disciples didn't make the ten-day vow in the upper room either.
Let's fast for ten days. No, they interceded and knocked. Hallelujah.
Until now. Hallelujah. Glory to God.
Hallelujah. Glory. This is being prophetic in these days.
It's knowing the voice of God. It's knowing what Jesus wants to do. It's knowing everything he's already said he'll do and not just watching to see what will happen.
It's participating in the fulfillment of what he's already said. God. So they unite.
Repeat after me. Unite. Unite.
Communion. Each one will pray for a place. Each one will go to their home there in the upper room in Jerusalem.
Each one will live in their own home. No. What do they do?
They unite with one passion. Oh, one strength. And they begin to cry out for something Jesus had already said he would do.
They begin to knock. According to the scholars here, if Jesus spent 40 days teaching them after his death and the spirit fell on Pentecost, which is 50 days after Easter, then theoretically this prayer meeting lasted 10 days. You imagine 10 days of crying out and knocking.
But there's a problem. I don't know if you know, but in Corinthians, Paul says that Jesus appeared after resurrecting people. How many people?
500. How many people were there in the upper room when the spirit fell? Huh?
Who remembers? 120. The question is: where are the other 380?
Maybe the first day of the meeting had 500 people, but 10 days later there were only 120. We don't know. I only know that many people heard what Jesus said, but only 120 remained crying out and seeking until now.
Put Acts 21 there for us, Debro. We'll finish. When the day of Pentecost came, they were all gathered in one place.
Play the next one for us. And suddenly there came from heaven, a sound like a mighty wind, filling the entire house where they were sitting. Pause.
What entered that room when you know what entered there? A storm. The same storm Ezekiel saw on the River Chebar.
The same storm John saw in Revelation that surrounds the throne. The throne area invaded the upper room. Then a very strong wind entered the house where they were sitting.
Go on. And tongues of fire appeared, separated and rested on each of them. Guys, this is just a technicality, okay?
Tongues of fire. It's not that they started. .
. No, it's not that, okay? Hallelujah.
Give glory. Glory to God. Literally, fire began to rest on their heads.
Imagine a wind, a storm entered the room, and a storm of fire. God and the fire began resting on their heads. And then what happens?
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to. . .
What is the evidence of someone who is filled with the Holy Spirit? The testimony of the gospel of Jesus. The testimony of the gospel of Jesus.
Glory to God. And look how crazy. Another thing that people misunderstand: And they began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit allowed them to express themselves.
And some people think that at that moment they began to pray. . .
No, folks, literally 120 began to receive new languages. Each one began to speak in a language known at the time. Why?
Because the power of the Holy Spirit upon the church has a purpose: the testimony of the gospel of God reaching all nations. Glory to God. And then things got out of control because it was the feast of Pentecost.
So there were people from all over the world there who traveled to celebrate the feast. Jerusalem was packed, and there were people from everywhere. And when the crowds begin to hear the 120 testifying to the gospel of Jesus in other languages, everyone—the crowd is drawn.
Pay attention, the crowd is drawn. How many want to see mass salvation happening in Brazil? How many want to see a multitude of people saved?
How many want to see the people around them reached by the gospel? Freed from the power of darkness. Do you want that?
So, we need the power of the Holy Spirit falling upon us. We need to be filled with the fire of the Holy Spirit and we need to rise up to be witnesses of the gospel of God. Because when someone filled with the Holy Spirit opens their mouth and testifies about the work of the cross, about the gospel of Jesus, power is released to free them from darkness.
Hallelujah! Hallelujah! When someone filled with the Holy Spirit sits down to disciple someone who is a slave to sin, the power of the Holy Spirit is released to free people from slavery to the God of this age.
[Music] We depend on the intervention of the Holy Spirit. It's not a theology course that will lead you to be an effective witness. Yes, you can know everything about theology, but it's still cold, dry, and totally immoral, because it has nothing to do with your mind, it has to do with your heart and your flames.
You can read every book on evangelism and still be completely fruitless. My prayer is that the Holy Spirit will fall upon this house, that the teenagers in this place will be set on fire by the power of the Holy Spirit. That the children in this place will be shaken by the Holy Spirit.
My prayer is that families will be touched by the power of the Holy Spirit. Our prayer is that we start worshipping here on Sunday and the power of the Holy Spirit will fall, and no one will be able to stand, no one will be able to preach, and things will get out of control. Because if there are people here who are fired up and eluded [Music] by the Holy Spirit and submissive to the leadership of the Holy Spirit, I guarantee you, we're going to have a problem, and Marcão will get into trouble because he's going to build a building, and then the crowds will be drawn away, and then the building won't be able to handle it, and we'll have to have five services, and then I'll give up.
[Music] The Lord wants to use you in your work. The Lord wants to use you in your college. The Lord wants to use you in your family.
And the only thing you need to understand here is that the Lord is calling you to be a witness to the work of the crucified Christ. And no one will be effective in doing this unless it is through the leadership of the Holy Spirit. My prayer this morning is that the Spirit itself may open a wound of despair in your heart.
An incurable wound of despair, [Music] a wound that generates incurable independence . And we may be like Elijah, begin, and instead of waiting for something to happen, we will begin to provoke God. God, we are here.
Fulfill your word in us. We are here. Your word says in Joel 2:28 that before the great and dreadful day of the Lord, the Spirit will be poured out on all flesh.
The Spirit of prophecy will be poured out on all nations and families of the earth. And young men will see visions, old men will dream dreams, and children will prophesy even to their servants, even upon the poorest classes. I will pour out my spirit in those days.
He already says what he will do. Revival. It's not a utopia.
Revival is a biblical promise. He said that before Jesus returns, before the day of the Lord, the greatest revival in human history will happen. What happened in Acts 2 won't just happen in a room.
It will happen in the nations. The fire of the Holy Spirit will sweep the earth and empower people from all nations. He will do it with or without you.
He will do it whether you believe it or not. He will raise up a glorious church on earth, and the testimony of the gospel of the kingdom will reach every ethnic group on earth. This will bring about the end.
But the question is: will you wait for this to happen or will you start participating in it? Now [Music] I have a word for you. Come out of this place of passive waiting and start provoking God.
We are here to cry out together. Holy Spirit, we are weak. We are full of flaws.
We can't. But through your power, we can rise up in holiness and righteousness to be witnesses wherever the Lord plants us. [Music] Can you stand this morning?
Hallelujah! [Music] Holy Spirit, we are here. [Music] Spirit of grace.
Spirit of grace. We are here this morning. You can lift your hands high.
Raising your hands speaks of surrender. When you lift your hands, you are signaling, saying: "I surrender, I surrender before you, Lord. You are the Lord of my life.
" Raising your hands speaks of surrender, speaks of surrender. We lift our hands before the Holy Spirit this morning. We surrender, we surrender everything.
We surrender our money, our time, our family. We surrender our emotions. We surrender our dreams.
We surrender everything here, our children, our profession. We surrender. Holy Spirit, lead our lives.
Holy Spirit, come with your fire to this place, Lord, and see these people with your power. We cry out here. Just as you fell on Jesus in the Jordan, just as you fell on the 120, wound people here.
See us with an incurable wound. Open a wound in our hearts. [Music] Spirit, come like fire and destroy the coldness in our hearts.
Destroy the coldness in this place. Every evil spirit that does not glorify Jesus, that is producing blindness, deception, leave this room now. Leave these people.
I rebuke you now in the name of Jesus. Spirit of coldness, leave this city. Leave this house.
Leave this city in the name of Jesus. We make room, Holy Spirit, we cry out here. Baptize us once again with your power.
Release your fire and destroy the coldness in our hearts. Destroy [Music] the darkness of our being. Spirit of truth, we surrender here.
[Music] [Music] You can raise your hands one more time and say, "Jesus. " You can say this, Jesus. Jesus, fulfill your word in me, fulfill your word in me.
Your word fulfills your word in my house. I will be a witness to the resurrection of Jesus. Jesus, wherever I am, wherever I am, Holy Spirit, come upon my house.
Come upon my house, upon my family. We make room. Destroy the coldness within me.
Destroy the darkness of my being. Come like fire. Come as you illuminate my eyes.
I want to see Jesus. I want to see Jesus. I want to know the glory of Christ.
I want to know the beauty of the one who saved me. Open my ears, Holy Spirit, I want to hear your voice like Elijah did. [Music] Touch my lips, Holy Spirit, with your fire this morning.
[Music] Great is your name, Lord. Great is your name, Lord. Begin to cry out.
Holy Spirit, come upon this city. Begin to cry out. Come on.
Open your mouth. It's time to open your mouth now. Come on.
Open your mouth now, Holy Spirit. Come upon Bragança Paulista. Come upon the Escope family, Holy Spirit, come upon Portugal now.
Fall upon this plantation, Lord. Fall upon these people in Portugal, Lord. In the name of Jesus.
Holy Spirit, fall upon each, every house church, fall upon Discop School, fall upon Maranatha, Lord, in the name of Jesus. Lead them, Holy Spirit. Holy One.
You are the leader of this church. [Music] We confess our dependence on you.
