Before we pray, let's take a moment to reflect on God's goodness, and then we'll pray together. God is good all the time, and all the time, God is good. This truth never changes, no matter what life brings.
Whether the sun is shining or the rain is pouring, God remains the same—faithful, loving, and good. His goodness is not dependent on my circumstances; it does not shift with the seasons of life or waver in the face of adversity. He is constant, unchanging, and eternally kind.
If I have everything I need, if my life is overflowing with blessings, God is good. Every breath I take, every morning I wake up, every meal set before me is evidence of His provision. When my prayers are answered swiftly, when doors open effortlessly, and when peace fills my heart, I can see His goodness shining brightly.
But even if I am struggling, even if the weight of uncertainty presses against my soul, if I am unsure of where my next meal will come from or how I will make it through another day, He is still good. His goodness is not measured by abundance, nor is it diminished by lack. Even in hardship, He remains my provider, my sustainer, my refuge.
If the doctor delivers heartbreaking news, if the road ahead looks uncertain and frightening, if everything I thought was secure suddenly crumbles beneath me, God is still good. He is my comfort in sorrow, my strength when I feel weak, my steady hand when I cannot stand on my own. And if a new opportunity brings joy and success, if life overflows with laughter and peace, I will praise Him, for He is always good.
My circumstances may change, but He never does. If an unexpected bill arrives, straining my finances; if doors close and plans fall apart; if my prayers are answered with a "not yet" instead of an immediate "yes," that does not change the goodness of God. He is not only good when life feels easy; He is good in the waiting, in the struggle, in the unknown.
His ways are higher than mine, His thoughts beyond my comprehension. What I see as a setback, He may be using for my greatest growth. What I grieve as a loss, He may be turning into an unseen blessing.
1 Chronicles 29:11 declares, "Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty. Indeed, everything that is in the heavens and on the earth—yours is the dominion and kingdom, O Lord, and you exalt yourself as head over all. " God is not only good; He is sovereign.
He reigns over all things, and nothing escapes His knowledge or control. The same God who set the stars in place, who commands the winds and the waves, who holds time and eternity in His hands, is the same God who holds my life. He is not distant or indifferent; He is near, intimately involved in every detail of my existence.
Too often, we view God through the lens of human relationships. We assume that, like people, He is only good to us when things go our way. We mistakenly believe that if life is hard, He must be displeased with us, or if prayers go unanswered, He must have forgotten us.
But God does not operate like that. He is not fickle or conditional in His love; His goodness does not waver based on my understanding of His plans. God can say "no" out of love; He can close doors to protect me from unseen dangers.
There are times when I ask for something, believing it to be good, not realizing that it could harm me in the long run— that relationship, that job, that opportunity. It might seem perfect to me, but God, in His infinite wisdom, knows what I cannot see. And because He loves me, He leads me toward what is best, even when I do not understand.
Isaiah 40:14 reminds me, "Whom did the Lord consult to enlighten Him, and who taught Him the right way? Who was it that taught Him knowledge or showed Him the path of understanding? " God does not need advice or guidance; He is not limited by human understanding.
He is all-knowing, all-wise, and all-powerful. He does not make mistakes, and He does not need the wisdom of the world to make His decisions. Everything is in His hands; He sees the beginning and the end, the seen and the unseen.
What I perceive as a delay may be His perfect timing; what I consider unanswered may be His best answer. I may not understand His ways, but I can trust His heart. I say this so that my heart may be reminded of who God truly is—the Almighty.
He is to be honored and worshiped, for He is glorious beyond measure. He is the King, King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, the Creator of all things, and yet He is also my Father, my Shepherd, my closest friend. He is kind and tender, caring for me in ways I cannot even comprehend.
He sees every tear, hears every sigh, knows every longing. His love is deeper than the ocean, wider than the heavens, and stronger than any force in the universe. So I will declare in every season, in every trial, in every triumph, God is good.
I will trust His goodness when life is radiant with joy, and I will cling to it when all feels dark. I will hold fast to the truth that my God does not change. His goodness is not a fleeting emotion or a shifting shadow.
No matter what comes, I will rest in this unshakable truth: God is good all the time, and all the time, God is good. Now, let's take a moment to pray together. Heavenly Father, I thank you for your goodness.
Your goodness is. . .
Not dependent on my circumstances or my emotions, it is steadfast, unwavering, and eternal. I thank you for loving me, not because I'm deserving, but because you are love itself. I thank you for sustaining me, for providing my every need, for guiding me even when I do not see the way.
Every heartbeat, every breath, every new morning is a gift from you. Above all, I thank you for caring so much that you sent your only Son to die for me so that I may have eternal life. Because of Him, I am redeemed; because of Him, I am set free; because of Him, I am no longer bound by sin or condemned by my past.
His blood has washed me white as snow; His sacrifice has given me a hope that cannot be shaken. Lord Jesus, you endured suffering, humiliation, and death so that I might have life abundantly, and for that, I will praise you forever. There is no greater gift than the salvation you have given me.
Lord, you alone deserve all the glory; there is none like you. Your power is unmatched, your wisdom beyond measure; there is no limit to your abilities. As the book of Isaiah says, "Whom did the Lord consult to enlighten him?
Who was it that taught him knowledge? " No one can teach you, Lord, for you are the source of all wisdom. Your ways are higher than mine; your thoughts far exceed anything I can comprehend.
You see the past, the present, and the future all at once; you know the end from the beginning. You are never surprised, never confused, never uncertain. What is hidden from me is clear before you.
Even when I do not understand, I trust in you, for you are perfect in all your ways. I praise you, Lord, for your greatness and for your love. If you had never saved me, if you had never drawn me to you, where would I be without you?
I would be lost, wandering in darkness, but you found me. You called me by name; you rescued me from sin, from destruction, from myself. You placed my feet on solid ground and set me free.
Isaiah 40:22 says, "It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain and spreads them like a tent to dwell in. " There are no words great enough to describe your majesty. You are infinite in wisdom, power, and might; the heavens declare your glory; the skies proclaim the work of your hands.
So today, I lift up my heart to you. I offer my praise, my love, my adoration. I thank you, Jesus, for being my rock.
When my faith wavers, you hold me steady. I choose to rejoice always. I choose to give thanks in all circumstances because I trust that your plan for my life is good, perfect, and filled with purpose.
I trust that every step I take is ordered by you. Your word tells me to approach your throne with boldness, to ask according to your will, and to trust that you will hear me. So here I am, Lord, seeking your presence, surrendering my will to yours.
Let my desires align with your heart; let my thoughts be shaped by your truth; let my life be a reflection of your glory. Thank you, Jesus, for dying on the cross for me. Because of you, I am free; because of you, I have life; because of you, I have an unshakable hope that nothing in this world can take away.
I pray that my relationship with you will grow stronger every day. Drw me closer, Lord. Let my heart hunger for you above all else.
Teach me to seek you, to love you, to walk in obedience to your word. Let my life be a testimony of your goodness. Give me a heart that places you at the center of everything.
Be the King of my life, the Lord of my soul, the ruler of my mind. Let nothing take your place in my heart—not success, not relationships, not possessions, not worries. You alone are worthy, Father.
Help me to live without fear. The world is filled with uncertainty, but I do not fear the future, for you are already there. May I fear nothing in this world except being apart from you.
Keep me close, Lord; keep me from temptation, from distractions, from anything that would lead me away from you. Guide my steps so that I do not follow the ways of the wicked. Protect my heart from deception; let me walk in your truth always.
I want to be fully devoted to you. I hunger and thirst for you, Lord. Remove anything from my life that hinders my growth in you.
