what if I told you that Master English speaking is way more than just being fluent you can take a native language for example would you say that everyone is fluent right but you probably know a few people who speak better than others some are more confident and others can't even look you in the eye and in English especially when you're learning it's very easy to find yourself learning new words practice pronunciation try to speak really fast but focusing too much on that or only on that can take your focus away from things that if practice
together can make you a better English speaker as a whole I made this mistake and I regret not practicing every skill and every part of becoming a better speaker because when you're learning a new language you have the chance to start from the beginning so practicing every skill will ensure that you become a better speaker and everything will be much easier so in this video I'm going to share with you how you can become a better speaker in English not only by trying to learn new words and have a better pronunciation but also by making
sure that you become a better speaker with skills that sometimes a lot of English Learners forget so you don't have to make the same mistakes that I did and here's why you can listen to me I probably can resonate with you a lot I've always been an introvert I learned English completely by myself made a lot of mistakes and achieved some great things along the way because of English I got accepted in universities in the US starting this channel you know starting my business and becoming an entrepreneur and finally meeting people that I got along
with likeminded people now let me ask you a question have you ever say something to someone and they completely misunderstood what they meant or maybe they didn't react the same way you expected it might not have been what you said but how you said it the first thing that you have to understand is that to become a better speaker in English is much more than just how you say things or how good your pronunciation is there's many other things involved when I was first learning English I thought I was doing everything right I learn new
words every day practice pronunciation and try to sound like people that I heard on TV but something was off no matter how much I practiced people didn't always get what I was trying to say then one day I had a really important conversation with a friend and I wanted to tell them I was excited about a new project that I had but my voice was flat and I wasn't using the right tone in a way so my friend thought that I wasn't interested that's when I realized I wasn't paying attention to my intonation and stress
intonation is the rise and fall of your voice is what adds life to your words and stress it's about which words you emphasize in English these things can change the entire meaning of a sentence for example if you say I didn't say you were wrong versus I did say you were wrong it changed the meaning completely right because the same words but the message feels different in a way so if you master intonation and stress people will understand you better and you will sound more natural it's like music there's a rhythm to the way people
speak once you get the hang of it you'll feel more confident people will connect with what are you saying on a deeper level so take a moment to listen to native speakers how they use their voice practice mimicking the rise and fall of their speech I promise you I promise you it makes a word of difference now speaking of connection let's talk about something that goes beyond words now did you know that almost 90% of human communication is not even about words it's about body language now I want you to imagine that you are in
a restaurant trying uh to water a coffee in English for the first time you've got the words down perfectly in your head but as you're speaking you are staring at the ground your shoulders are low like this and you have your hands in your pocket the person that is taking your order is confused maybe even unsure if you're talking to them or not so what went wrong well it wasn't your words it was your body language so like I said human communication is not even only about words that means your facial expressions your hand movements
the way you stand all these things send messages even when you're not saying anything think about it if someone is speaking to you but they are void eye contact what message does that send probably that they are uncomfortable or unsure of themselves right now imagine the upset someone who stand stall makes eye contact and gestures naturally while they speak that's the person that people will listen to and take seriously the good news is that body language is something that you can improve and practice so start by watching how confident speaker use their hands how their
smile how their stand you know it doesn't need to be exaggerated just be natural and next time you're practicing English focus on using open and positive body language even a small change can make a big difference in how people respond to you now that you start to express yourself better through body language let's make sure that people actually hear what you saying Clearly Now I want you to picture this you're in a meeting having a conversation and you have something really important to say but as soon as you start speaking you realize that you're rushing
through your words maybe you're trying to get it out quickly because you're nervous or it just want to sound fluent but by the time you finish the person that you're talking to looks confused and you know they didn't understand a word I've been there and it's frustrating sometimes I even make mistakes like that with this channel when I'm recording this videos and for that I'm sorry if if I'm speaking too fast sometimes so a big part of being a good speaker is isn't about the words that you choose it's about how you deliver them so
that's where Clarity and articulation comes in so so Clarity means making sure that every word you say is easy to understand and articulation is about how clearly you pronounce those words if you rush to sentences or Mumble it doesn't matter how smart your words are people won't be able to follow you I used to think that speaking faster m i sounded more fluent but actually the opposite is true when you slow out and focus on clearly saying each word people listen more closely you don't need to rush take your time to articulate each word if
you do you will be understood more and you will come across as more confident in a way you can practice this by reading out loud and focus on initiating every single single word that you say even native speakers practice this skills so try to record yourself and listening back to hear how clearly you are speaking and once you master Clarity the next challenge is to bring your words to life and that's where emotional expression comes in now let me ask you this have you ever heard someone speak and you thought damn that was powerful what
made their words stick with you it wasn't just what they were saying it it was how they were saying it they spoke with emotion you don't want to be that person that looks like don't have a soul when he speaking English and let me tell you it's very easy to sound like you don't have a soul especially or any emotion especially when you are changing you know from your native language to English you know in the beginning is very easy I'm telling you now think about a great speech or a moment that someone really inspire
ired you chances are it wasn't just about the words that moved you it was the passion behind those words when people speak with emotion they connect with others on a deeper level I remember one time that I had to give a presentation in English it was not even in person was online and I had everything bled out you know perfectly everything was solid my pronunciation was on point you know but something was missing as I Was preparing myself my friend stopped me and said you're saying all the right things but I don't feel it I
don't feel emotion and that moment got me I realized that I wasn't expressing any emotion I was so focused on being correct that I forgot you know to feel what I was saying and once I started to adding emotion whether it was excitement you know being more funny being a little bit serious people's reaction completely changed and they listen more closely and my message had more impact so when you are speaking in English don't be afraid to express how you feel if you are excited about something let your voice show it if you are serious
let that come through it you know like emotion is what makes your words memorable and these things are so easy to put aside and not practice at all because you're so focused on you know Master pronunciation speak faster and knowing all the words and most people don't even you know know about these things that you have to practice these things as well to make sure that you become a better speaker you know as a whole so these are the things that I wished I knew earlier that it would have made me a much better speaker
if I had practiced them you know since I begin my journey and I hope you can take this and actually start practicing as well at the same time then you're trying to improve your pronunciation and your vocabulary and all these things so I really hope you found this valuable and if if you want to know why sometimes it feels like your English speaking skills are not improving at all I have this video right here and you can click right now to watch it and I see you very soon
