I need someone to show me my place in all this hey welcome back to screen Crush I'm Colton Ogburn and Lucas film is back at it again yet another Star Wars movie is crashing and burning at the stage of just putting pin to paper variety has reported that the ray Skywalker movie featuring The Return of Daisy Ridley and following Ray as she rebuilds the Jedi Order that movie has lost yet another writer in Steven Knight a little later I'm going to be joined by my friends Tommy beckeld and Dotson s sites to get their thoughts
on yet another Lucas film cluster but first let's break down this report this is where the fun begins oh and hey by the way be sure to check out our merch store screencrush merch.com we've got lots of fun galaxy far far away inspired shirts like prequel apologist hello there the ability to speak does not make you intelligent and many many many more thank you so much for your support okay so a few years back it was revealed that lucasfilm would be making a movie that took place 15 years after episode 9 the rise of Skywalker
and it would show Ry rebuilding the Jedi Order now I was personally really looking forward to this movie even as a guy who didn't really like the rise of Skywalker or even The Last Jedi but I do love Force awakens but despite my disliking of episodes 8 and N I do love Daisy Ridley's Ray character and I was excited to see her rebuild the Jedi Order because that's something that I've wanted to see happen since Return of the Jedi now in a perfect world we would have gotten an episode 789 about 10 years earlier than
we did and that could have seen Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker rebuild the Jedi Order but that ship is sailed so getting to see Ray be the one to rebuild the order from the ground up and free of the corruption that doomed the order in the prequels as well as Luke's attempts to rebuild between the originals and sequels and despite Ray's connection to that sequel Trilogy and the baggage that comes with that I still think in the right hands a ray movie and a potential Ray Trilogy could have given the franchise a fresh start and perhaps
they could have learned from their past mistakes but apparently I was wrong now the film's original screenwriters Damon Lindelof and Justin brick Gibson were the first set of writers to depart from the project keeping in line with lucasfilm's notorious track record of losing writers and directors they of course were replaced with Steven knight from pey blinders Fame now in a very unsurprising fashion they've lost Knight as well and this fortunately is part of a pattern at Lucas film when it comes to getting a project off the ground Rogue one that movie was Rewritten and a
good chunk of it was reshot solo Lord and Miller were replaced late in the game by Ron Howard and that entire movie was reshot the rise of Skywalker Colin tavaro was replaced by JJ Abrams Ryan Johnson was supposed to have a whole trilogy that was deep into pre-production and that whole thing is now dead Steven Derry he was supposed to do Kenobi James mangled was supposed to do a Boba Fett move movie Patty Jenkins did an entire promo for a Rogue Squadron movie and that's now dead in the water B off and Weiss JD Dillard
Kevin fige Michael waltron Tao watiti all had Star Wars projects that were approved and ultimately [ __ ] canned it's a rinse and repeat at lucasfilm announce a project get a writer and director on board lose the riter Andor director lose another riter Andor director and then eventually just watch the project Fade Into Oblivion they will crush us grind us into tiny pieces and blast us into Oblivion now on a lighter note Academy award-winning director charmine obai chinoi is still attached as this movie's director and she has also directed episodes of Miss Marvel but now
here we are yet again and Lucas film seems to be bumbling and fumbling with arguably the most beloved franchise of all time and guys this is coming from someone who has liked a lot of what they've done under the Disney umbrella Force awakens Rogue one Andor the Mandalorian Rebels hell I even like the acolyte Get Low to this guy but the way they have screwed up easy layups like Kenobi rise of Skywalker the book of Boba Fett and countless projects that never hit the screen it's just infuriating and you know Marvel Studios has been getting
a lot of [ __ ] for their handling of the blade movie and it's many many many lost writers and directors and now that film is seemingly on an indefinite hold but you know that's actually pretty rare for for a studio like Marvel but it's a common occurrence over at Lucasville and don't get me wrong it's okay to change writers it's okay to change directors it's okay to cancel a project entirely in fact it's a good thing if the reason is you are having a high quality standard that you were holding your projects to but
that isn't the case with lucasfilm this is just poor management they have a super high turnover rate when it comes to writers and directors they cancel greenlit projects right and left even after publicly announcing them and then with they do ultimately end up releasing still nearly half of it ends up being SLO something has got to change this is freaking Star Wars man and look let's not sit here and pretend like those grifters you can find here on YouTube are right about their stupid little woke critiques of Star Wars put a chick in it make
her gay big scary girls and the occasional gay person being in Star Wars is not the problem the problem is a lack of vision and direction for this franchise they are in desperate need of their own Kevin fige and I just personally don't think Kathleen Kennedy nor Dave filon are that person maybe John favro you Fabro what and hey by the way before I bring on Tommy and Dodd I did want to let you guys know we are going on tour with our screen Crush Live show so wait what happens at a live show oh
man we are going to show things that they won't let us show here on YouTube and we're going to have nerdy debates like for instance I like the acolyte we're going to have exclusive videos in merch trivia but most importantly I want to see you guys live and in person and so does Ryan Ary we did a live show in February and it was so much fun just to be surrounded by our fellow nerds I'm getting to see you see your faces not record some of you are not goodlooking people oh so it's like a
mini ComicCon exactly so the full list of tickets and dates are below and for a limited time only tickets are 15% off our next show is November 14th in Boston Massachusetts so get tickets now before we sell out now back to what I was saying but hey those are just my thoughts now I want to bring on my two friends Tommy Beal and Dodson sites to get their thoughts on this movie that we we might be getting I don't know DOD are are we still getting this Ray movie and if so are you glad do
you want the ray movie would you be more happy to you know learn that it is getting you know brushed aside what what are you wanting uh that's a great question what do you want um so uh first off do want to see uh this Ray movie eventually get made mostly because I want to see what happens to the Jedi Order after Ray uh after the sequel series and everything else like that uh as far as swapping over directors we've seen that happen a lot and we've seen it happen for better and For Worse right
Rogue one swapped a lot of directors at the beginning of it right um and uh so like I think that there's still there's still a chance that we can still get something out of it that is good um however like we've also gotten plent plent of bad right we've gotten plenty of stuff that that's that's gotten on the chopping block and when we saw like the original plans for it we're like dang I wish we'd gotten that even Kenobi Kenobi had some of the highest viewership on Disney plus and then when we saw what the
plans for afterwards we were like oh man a movie might have been better uh especially to like flesh out all of these things uh in that way um but most importantly I want to see the Jedi Order and its story continue after Rey and the good thing that we've seen about Disney Star Wars kind of post the trilogy is that there has been some kind of um effort to go back and not necessarily retcon but do the the good old Star Wars thing where it's like ah these aren't actually as bad as they used to
be right like you know we talk a lot about uh somehow Palpatine returned but over like the past three or four years we start to see why that was such a secret plan we start to see why it was intentional for it to catch the Rebel Alliance off guard and not that that makes it perfect but it does make it feel uh you know at least more cohesive and thought out and like like like it was intentional right uh and there's so many things about the sequel series that just uh they don't feel very intentional
you look at uh the Last Jedi in particular which is you know one of my biggest gripes and Ryan Johnson took that film and he really when you're looking back at it he wanted to make something that was different that like that tried to really you know change people's perception of the force but it became like contrarian for contrarian sake right that I don't think was a good hit for most people right now we have these series uh you know like like Mando's done like bad batch has done that that kind of helped with uh
rise of Skywalker and take away some of the the stings of that plot line I want to see Ray's storyline kind of Revisited and expanded upon too um and and hopefully in a way that's beneficial to it so I would like to see it get made with the right people um now what I feel is good about this movie versus like the sequel series is the sequel series were very much on like a timetable they wanted to release a Star Wars movie every year right and so they were going to do a uh one of
the original trilogies every other year and then these Star Wars stories in between this Ray movie looks like it's coming out when it's ready right and and at least with the stuff that they're kind of throwing back and forth with it it seems like they're trying to cook with it a bit that could be good right that could be a hopeful sign right that's not just rushing things out to to cash in on it um so yeah it depends on what we're actually getting from it we still haven't even seen a trailer for this we're
just talking about the ideas of it so until we get like something tangible to really like sink our teeth into it's hard to make a real big judgment on it but I do think there's cause for concern and potential cause for excitement well DOD don't don't even get me started on Kenobi needing to have been a movie right I'll go off Tommy what what do you think are you yeah do you do you think we're going to get this Ray mov well listen Colton I I think if we're looking at the mo the giant monolithic
Media company that is Disney they're not going to parade out the star of a movie and then not have the movie come to fruition no listen I I think Dodson made pretty much all the points that need to be made on this this movie will happen when it's ready you know we we we spend a lot of time I certainly spend a lot of time on these talkbacks and on my own personal YouTube videos kind of like trying to uh ease the simmering Boiling Pot that is a toxic fandom but when you look at Marvel
and Star Wars like there has been contrarian film making as well as doson said like Ryan Johnson made kind of a movie that like didn't seem a Star Wars movie that didn't seem to like Star Wars secret invasion was a Marvel show that didn't seem to like Marvel you know it's like we have we have to kind of accept that like these I mean Star Wars fans are on a whole another level of toxicity but like they are to a certain degree u i mean there there is a certain level of passionate fan that's allowed
to you know take in these movies and be like hey wait this isn't true to the brand or the or the the the the pathos or the or the mythology or the lore of of this this franchise that we've come to love and for that reason I think that the new kind of more patient you know some some will say cost cutting others will say safe approach that both the studios seem to be making is like in in in the in the initial sense very frustrating I'm very frustrated that blade is not in production being
made right now dunk I want there to be more of Ray's story told because I felt like you know the the the sequel Trilogy one of one of its many flaws although that I I'm probably the person who likes it more than others was that it had a tough time in in on Whose story we were ultimately going to like you know experience and consistency within those stories you know like Finn wildly inconsistent Journey as a character Reay kind of like almost like a half measures all the way [ __ ] like is like what
who is she who is this who is this girl like what is special about her she feels special we're visuals are special but like ultimately what are we to understand and then we're just kind of thrown at us oh she's pelatin granddaughter you know it's like that's why special and it's like you know so I I I'm sorry I know I'm Ram I'll wrap up in a second here but I guess to to the point that Dodson made so well and and I think that we're all kind of looking at it's like this movie should
be made there's there's a place for it in the Star Wars universe but it should not be made until the much like Marvel there is a there's a cohesive plan of what the Star Wars Universe looks like moving forward and it's not it's you know many different voices do make make things better but there is also many different voices shouting at each other at the same time make things really confusing yeah no and and to add to that I would say that like many different voices also like means that you're going to have some voices
that are that that don't do the story well and that there are some voices that do the story well right and that's kind of like one of the big benefits of it you know I think that the the the point we're both making here is there's been a lot of criticism from a toxic side of the Star Wars fandom sure but also side of the fandom that is genuinely critical of some of the directions that they've been making and and and the kind of franchise mentality that they've had with it so if this movie can
cook a little bit more to kind of hopefully get those things out yeah I would say don't like that's a cooking is execrated analogy a lot of the content that we've gotten has had really good moments but has ultimately felt a little half-baked right like we've we've had a lot of like a lot especially these Disney plus series have felt like wow really like that really like that really like that but as a whole thing it just doesn't feel like it was totally it didn't all the landing is never really quite stuck 100 although I
hope I am eating those words Wednesday night as we all enjoy the Agatha uh finess yes I I think Half Baked that's the perfect way to describe it you know I I'm often painted as as our you two uh we're painted as these you know oh we'll we'll defend anything Star Wars but that that's really not true I I don't like episode8 or nine I I'm not a fan of those two movies but I love Force awakens and one of the reasons I was really looking forward to this Ray movie is because I was kind
of hoping it could I I'm not saying to DEC canonize episode 8 and N but I I was hoping that it would kind of serve as more of a direct sequel to what they were setting up in the force awakens with her being this mysterious powerful new character uh and going back to the idea of anybody you know can can be a powerful Jedi she's a Palpatine but that's fine ultimately it it's like it's like the exact message is the opposite it's like anyone could be a powerful Jedi but usually they're related to these two
distinct families yeah and and hey you know there's a way DOD I think you were a little generous earlier when you said like that like were you implying that maybe they kind of had a plan with the someh help Palpatine returned I don't know no they didn't but then they made a plan for it right they came back and like other story like okay this is the mess that they got us in story tellers exactly better storytellers came in and then were able to fix it and I think that that's a good part of a
big huge part of Star Wars right yeah and I will say in in a retroactive fashion I I think it can be cool to have the ray character who is the new embodiment of this new Jedi Order who has learned from the mistakes of not only what went on in the prequels but you know Luke failed as well um I think having her be a Palpatine uh she can overcome perhaps what Luke wasn't able to overcome you know being the son of Darth Vader we can see Ry overcome that being a granddaughter of a Palpatine
now my next question is I like I said we three are often you know they say We'll defend anything Star Wars but that's that's just not true we we're nuanced in our critique that we don't come at it from the angle of oh they're woke aying Star Wars and they're ruining it because Bluey yeah yeah blue Air guy we're we're not coming at it from that angle but we do have legitimate critiques and one of my legitimate critiques that you'll often hear coming from the the more toxic side of fandom is they have a problem
with Kathleen Kennedy they have a problem with her because she's a her I have a problem because I just don't think she's doing the job well I think that Kathleen Kennedy like step Spielberg said is one of the greatest producers in all of Hollywood I don't know that she's a great Studio executive uh just from these you know one of the key jobs of a studio executive is you know getting things in line writers directors getting the project made and she seemed to have had a a lot of issues in that department now she's had
a lot of successes as well that the Mandalorian Andor all the great stuff Star Wars has done so I I'm not saying like Jo she's terrible at her job but I I do think it's time that perhaps we move on from Kathleen Kennedy and get some new blood in there so my question is and I'll go to you first Tommy do you think it's time for Kathleen Kennedy to move on and if so who would you like to see fill that role I you know I get the feeling that she probably thinks it's time to
move on you know like aside from however we all feel it's like a she's been in the job for a while I mean in Hollywood like the like 10 years now right or more than 10 years more than 10 years because she from the beginning of the the the the announcement of the prequel series all the way to you know seies sequel Series so sorry yes I would say that like I mean like in Hollywood years that's like a thousand years of staying in the same job I imagine that there's greener pastures for her at
Disney Studios with her own imprint you know where she could just make you know big epic films under whatever and she can probably always retain a producer credit of anything Lucas film moving forward uh so I I I mean regardless of what I think I I think kind of fresh voices fresh blood uh in all of these properties is a good thing but they have to have a reverence for the source material I think I do kind of buy into the like let's stop and I don't think Kathleen Kennedy falls into this so this is
kind of neither here nor there but it's like I think that we need someone that is doing the hiring that has a reverence and then is not just hiring people to be like I want to hire someone that no one would ever expect to direct a Star Wars movie because while that seems exciting in principle it's like we need a few good Star Wars movies first before we start making weird ones again like it's like you know you kind of gota like you know it's like it's like anything you you don't you it's like a
a band's not going to play you know all their hits right at the top but like you know you got to play a couple hits at the beginning of the concert or people are gonna you know walk out so uh in terms of replacing her I can't like you know I also think has been in it for a long time you know like I don't think he's I don't think he's a natural like run the whole thing himself because I also think having him you know focusing on the stories that he wants to tell is
good I think more in the producer mindset John favro would be a great choice like to you know I know that him and FY kind of work together but like I think favro overseeing the whole universe would be interesting it's almost I know it's another you know white guy but uh it's a little bit like James gun to me someone who really loves it that like you know kind of seems to have the ability to see this entire universe out looking I know those are kind of boring choices and I hope Dodson has way more
exciting choices here's what's important though yes it's important to be a fan of of the uh the franchise it's important but being a fan is not enough you need to be a person who is is talented in that type of role and you don't necessarily have to be a creative I mean Kevin feige is not a writer he's not a director but he does have a passion for the comics and he also you know he he had a lot of experience under his belt producing movies that's what made him a perfect fit I don't think
Dave filon is a perfect fit I like Dave filon I I think he did a great job at running the Star Wars animation Department you know with clone Wares and Rebels that was great and I think Dave filon is an important guy to keep around as kind of a Northstar person that they can go to and say hey is this Star Wars is this working I think he is an extremely important voice to have in the room but I I also think you need somebody with skill sets beyond that of Dave filon who can you
know tap into a day filon but also tap into to other creators like Kevin feige does to have a more cohesive path forward and I don't know who that person is you you know that's why I threw it to you guys I I I wanted to put you in the hot seat I don't know who the right choice is God do do you have somebody in mind it should it remain Kathleen Kennedy or well I think I think to a lot of the points that have been made here we tend to um forget Kathleen Kennedy's
successes uh in her role as much as we do uh other people's right like fav is I think a a great choice obviously but favro was also Behind book of Boba Fett um right and like that was yeah like he was right at the helm of that whole thing all of his strategies went into it I mean like a lot of the things that made Mandalorian so successful is what hurt Ahsoka right um stuff like you know uh really trying to use like the volume as a story storytelling device right we saw how limiting that
was in Ahsoka and how that that like after a while those things get really tired um and uh filon filon is if anyone Lucas is Padawan right like he came in and the way that that uh you know Lucas kind of passed on everything from Clone Wars to him he really tried to show him the ways of the force what the force is supposed to mean and all of those kind of things from a really you know ground level I haven't seen though um someone take the approach that I feel really made Lucas's strong which
was that Star Wars was always meant to be something political right you know when when Lucas was making the original trilogy the the rebel alliance was you know coded after uh Viet the Viet Kong right and um you know like taking those those hugely kind of uh you know big steps to really kind of try to put this sci-fi world and tell us something about our own world on on that kind of level I don't feel like we've gotten that from Disney Star Wars at all um so I want to see someone that could take
it in in that kind of Direction I I I don't know who that is exactly um but but with with Kathleen Kennedy going back to that right I do think it's important for uh in a way for Kathleen Kennedy to be able to tell ry's story because Ray's story is a lot like hers I talked to you about this before Colton in a lot of different ways of how Ray's um her whole storyline really Echo goes a lot of what Kathleen Kennedy went through right I do think that there is a problem with Star Wars
and I've said it earlier here with um the kind of uh the franchise mentality that's been going on with Star Wars and people that have been trying to shoehorn those specific elements in there just for the sake of shoehorning those elements in there is what's detracted from Star Wars and Disney Star Wars in particular if those decisions are coming from Kathleen Kennedy then it is time for her to go right but if Kathleen Kennedy's the decisions behind Andor behind a lot of the risk I know didn't like it but I love the risk that acolyte
was taking right and showing the Jedi in a different light right um you know those kind of things I do think really build on the force in a positive way and are not simply contrarian for contrarian sake right we're looking at the Jedi and who they are as an order what they would have looked like when they were at their height right uh and exploring th those kind of elements those kind of creative risk if those are the ones coming down from Kathleen Kennedy then I absolutely want to see those th uh those come from
but we don't know if a lot of those decisions when they're being shoehorned into came from Bob Iger from Bob Chek from you know a lot of other people that are attached to this on a higher level um so I think it's hard to sit here and say whether or not it's Kathleen Kennedy that's the problem uh or if it's these these elements that are being shoehorned in and wherever those are coming from I do think that that Star Wars should move on from that well and DD I I think you made a great point
about what Star Wars was inspired by to begin with and you'll hear so many critics like anytime Star Wars God forbid like introduces like I think they recently introduced a uh a transgender Clone Trooper right spaned Universe yeah her her name is the sister yeah and her clone troop gave her that name when she they realized that she didn't fit in you know it's kind of cool and you had your usual suspects you know upset about it and a common critique I hear is they say you know I I'm fine with all that stuff I
just don't want it you know shoehorned into Star Wars mhm Star Wars has all always echoed what's happening in our World Star Wars is a commentary on our world so when I hear people say don't bring our politics into Star Wars yeah Star Wars is our politics that's all it's ever been and to your point and one of the things I think that makes it so much so easy to be negative and derisive now is if if something was introduced in a comic book or a movie in the 70s and ' 80s and even early
90s the backlash would come via print journalism you know like weeks or months later now an episode or a comic book or something can come out and it is on Twitter or it is on you know on somebody's you know uh medium page or their substack or their YouTube p or their YouTube videos they we're reacting instantly to stuff so a it leads to more knee-jerk reactions and B it makes it so much easier for people who want to be negative to kind of mine the content for things to be outraged about the people who
monetize you know there's there's not so subtle YouTube channels out there that monetize outrage they literally the same way that we look for like hey that's a code name for an old Stormtrooper from a comic book in the 80s there's people that are like that Jedi's fat like here's some here's some elements you might have missed from this video here's a Jedi with a BMI of over 25 uh like it's it's like yeah the internet has made us all into lunatics for different reasons to to build on that I will say that uh you know
before those knee-jerk reactions right were just knee-jerk reactions right those were something that were easily dismissable right you're talking about being in print media like months afterwards it was easy to look away from those and even like building up through the sequel Trilogy I would even argue that sometimes the backlash fueled people to Revenge watch it anyway um but now that's shifting right I really felt like with the acolyte there were so many people who didn't even try it because the first initial re initial knee-jerk reaction was so volatile that it outweighed any of the
uh you know positive aspects of the series um and that turned people away who would have been casual viewers from the show to actually watching it um and so like those knee-jerk reactions are more powerful now is what I'm trying to get at right they actually because now we don't have I I completely agree that's what I'm saying is like they hold way more water than some angry you know editorial columnist at like game Power Magazine in the 80s or whatever or like monster fangoria or something like that when it was a print thing but
it's like it's got to be exhausting to be someone who's not a fan of any of this [ __ ] like who has like someone they love who's like I want you to watch Agatha all along with me and they're like that show that everyone I follow on a is complaining about or or passionately defending which is like you know can be exhausting and it's right you know as we are Defenders of yeah I think all three of us try to be on the right side of like you know acceptance and and inclusion it's like
that gets exhausting too because I'm like why am I why do I feel the need and why do why does it make me so angry but I think it's because when you know something's wrong you have to speak up that's what that's adults do so I just can't imagine being so angry all the time it sounds exhausting it feels like they're watching it like clockwork Style with like stra for this like oh I can't do it I mean people that played you know 20 plus hours of Star Wars Outlaws while they were outrage the entire
time like that's got to be painful bro like you spent you spend money on that you know for out for outrage lasting longer than three hours please consult your doctor well look look so my overall point on that is is that Star Wars has always been about you know mirroring that things like oppression War corruption politics that's one of the best thing best things about the prels George Lucas pretty much created a Trilogy of of political thriller sci-fi and it's fantastic so that's what I want to see in the future I I want to see
Star Wars tackle the Iraq War and Corruption and uh I'll stop there I won't go any further but but I want to ask you guys we're doing a lot of you know cas complaining here of you know what they need to do not to do so I want to ask you what do you want to see what do you want to see Star Wars do Tommy I uh Colton mirror you and I really liked episode seven and I did not enjoy episode 8 really at all in episode nine I had a lot of issues with
although I do kind of extend a little bit of like Well Carrie fiser dying in real life really hurt the Leia storyline and which I think would have been way more important I hope I want to see the continuation of the new characters we were introduced to in episode s with the way that that Dodson kind of expertly put out at the beginning I want more po damaran stories I want more Finn stories I want more Rose even though she was in episode8 I think she that character deserves better I think that actress deserves better
and I want more race stories and I want more bb-8 adventures and like all these new characters that were introduced to in episode seven that felt like it was like this like Breakneck race to like dissa satisfyingly conclude their stories in episode N9 like I I want I want continuations of the core three new characters po Finn and Ray and I want you know I that's what I would like well and Tommy you make a good point I feel like the sequel Trilogy it it felt like it had the same issue that Sony has with
there something to do with Spider-Man I think Universe it it felt like they were trying so hard to make movies that have something to do with Star Wars I think and I I know that sounds a little counterintuitive of course it's it's a Star Wars Trilogy you're right but yeah it it didn't get to stand on its own it felt like they were going back to the original trilogy so much and oh you remember that you get this you get this quote I I'd love to get to see those new characters stand on their own
to your point Tommy DOD what do you want to see um there's a lot of aspects that I'd like to see in Star Wars one of the ones that I wanted to see in Star Wars explored I think they're already at least they have plans to explore which is the origins of the forest I want to see how this whole thing started we really haven't gotten a chance to look at uh that era in Star Wars and I think that uh you know if that story is done right it can do a lot of the
things that I saw an acolyte that I was enjoying right which is like Jedi are very dogmatic and Dogma in of itself is not a good thing just when it's purely by itself right and then uh you know you see characters like Obi-Wan who are using that Dogma as a vehicle for uh you know what it means to be a Jedi and what it means to be a good person kind of thing and when the origins of the Clone Force as it stands like the extended universe and stuff like that really kind of shows how
that was just kind of one sect of things right the Jedi were simply saying this is a good way of using the force a natural entity in the world and a bad way of using the force that's like saying like there's a good way to use water and a bad way to use water and people that use the bad way of using water are bad evil people I think that there's problems to be explored there I also think there's really cool nooking crannies in the Star Wars universe that haven't been explored that I would love
to see explored uh I don't know if many people know this but there's like a whole feud between trosi and Wookies like the lizard people and the Furry people and the lizard people like hunt the furry people as part of their culture and tribe I think that there's a lot of cool things you could explore in that dichotomy in the sense of like the political relevancy um you know we were we've talked a bunch about like the political relevancy as being like a strong suit of the early Star Wars that wasn't there before and if
you look at the sequel trilogies like that was the big vacuum right that whole storyline was really like well what if we like made a cool thing in the for was like a diad and like really really played on the ideas of like light and dark and there's not any really substantive thing about like the political structure the things that we were going through the original uh plans that Lucas had as you were kind of hinting at earlier Colton involves stuff like the Iraq War and like the reactivation of Cults and what happens in a
power vacuum and things like that and those that that has weight to it um I still want to see as I think Tommy was saying right the stories continue from where they left off because that's what's always made Star Wars good you have bad storytellers and you have good storytellers that elaborate on those bad stories and make them great right uh so like I do think that as we were saying in the beginning that this Ray movie should get made because that's where the story left off right um and uh I would also like to
see things from fall in order and the video games get canonized right when we look at Rey where she's at right now she's trying to rebuild the Jedi Order we do know of one little pocket in the Star Wars universe that hasn't been touched because of Jedi Survivor which is tanalur which is this secret Jedi Refuge that's hidden inside a nebula that calcus was very vague about whether or not he would let all the rest of the Jedi know about it so if he said no and he started building a little secret Jedi Order then
we could connect you know calcus and the Fallen order stories to the new Trilogy I think boom that's a great recipe for it or better yet you could just have you know a pickup right after where the last episode left off and then you realize that it was just max Rebo underneath one of those giant hologram projectors we saw from from the holiday special and now we're talking he takes it off now we're talking and just Obi One in front of him and be like you're the lead of the franchise now that's go yes all
