This is China's bullet train- in which I've traveled from Beijing - China's capital city to the largest city of China, Shanghai. China's fastest bullet train, "Shanghai Maglev" has a top speed of 460 kmph. Covering 1250 km without being late even by a minute.
Neither 10 seconds ahead nor 10 seconds behind. This is the bullet train, place to keep things, and these are the seats. The speed is 347 kmph.
This train is running super fast. There was an announcement in the train that if you smoke or do anything that'll make other passengers uncomfortable or if you are traveling without a ticket, then your credit score will be reduced. You will've to suffer for the rest of your life.
See how the kids are playing & people are passing by at 350 kmph. I've put the water bottle down, it's not falling and I've even my watch on top of botttle and it is not falling. When I look at the scenery out the window it seems like everything is happening in a fast motion.
We've finally reached China's largest city, Shanghai. Welcome from a new video from one of the most innovative countries, second largest economy in the world. Yes, I'm talking about China, I'm in second largest city and the capital city - Beijing.
This is my last day in Beijing as today I'm going to Shanghai, the largest city of China. From China's second largest city, Beijing, we'll take a bullet train and reach China's largest city, Shanghai. We've to reach the train station to board the bullet train.
I just left the house where I was staying in Beijing. Taxi has arrived to go to the train station. Let's sit inside.
Yesterday, I went to the Great Wall of China. That train was my Beijing Bay or Beijing North Railway Station. Today's train is from Beijing Nan or Beijing South Railway Station.
This station is close to where I stayed as I'm staying in South East Sea of Beijing. If you look at Beijing on the map, you'll see it's surrounded by circles. Beijing is quite spread out as it is a very big city.
Their population is around 20 million but Beijing is well connected. It's open & has many means of transport. You can take the metro or taxi.
There are cycles everywhere, etc. that can be used by scanning digitally and you can whatever you want to. After spending 7-8 days in Beijing, I'm finally going to Shanghai.
I planned to explore many regions of China but China is a very big country. You must be seeing it on the screen, it is many times big than India. So you can't tour China properly in one go.
This time I thought to cover main cities & next time I'll visit other small towns, of China as it's very difficult to travel in China due to language barrier. From where I stayed, there were two ways to reach Beijing South Railway Station. Either by taxi or by metro.
It showed same time about half an hour. 26-27 minutes by metro and by taxi. Because rush hour started at 8.
45 in the morning, so there was a crowd of offices. But I thought I've to carry a bag, so it's better to take a taxi. There are metro lines here.
Like line 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. Like in Delhi, we've colors like yellow, pink and blue line. In New York we have, lines basis going uptown or downtown.
Here there are numbers. After traveling in Beijing by metro I felt easy to remember numbers instead of colors. Taxis here have all faciites.
See here is an entertainment screen. You can watch TV or anything in this. The issue is it's in Chinese and not in English.
Lets go This is bigger than yesterday's station. Yesterday, we went to Beijing North. At least from outside it seems bigger.
It feels like I've arrived at an airport. Although there was traffic, I've time to the train as it's for 10 am & it's 8:15 right now. We've around 2 hours to ourselves.
Passport holders have a separate manual lane. It is not automatically scanned. We've to physically show it to the guard.
Let's head to the entrance. We will sit inside. The station looks big.
I'll take out my passport. Automatic machines are installed but it will not scan my passport. I'll have to go in that one to the guard.
We came inside and it really looks like an airport. Train timings are written here. Our train's might not be here as it will for 10 o'clock.
It is showing gate and platform till 9. 26 am for now It is just a gate. Let's go sit somewhere or find something to eat.
Even Beijing's airport was in North But now the main airport of Beijing is in the south. South train station is bigger than North. It's very crowded at the station.
Full of people. There are people everywhere. At every gate!
They're all Chinese you will not see a foreigner anywhere. I think I misspoke 95%. Over 99% people are Chinese only.
Not a single foreigner! They travel locally as it is such a big country. I reached the station but just noticed.
I haven't received the ticket from the app from which I booked it. The order has been confirmed. It shows that the ticket is confirmed but the ticket is not coming.
It doesn't show on the app. I checked my email & it ain't there. What is this?
Automatic ticketing! Do I have to print it from somewhere by putting the order number or something. Let's see.
English. Refund ticket. .
. Change ticket. Buy ticket.
There is no such thing here. I already have the ticket. If you do not buy online, you can buy from here but all the fast trains are sold out.
All these are slowly sold out. 6 hour train is sold out. In 5.
5 hour train, the first class seat is expensive. This is also a bullet train. 9 o'clock train is sold out.
This is our 10 o'clock train. This is sold out. Only business class seats are left in this.
Half of the train station is occupied by KFC. It started from here. And look at that.
All KFC is on the left. And. .
. no, that is something else. Okay, it's here.
I could see it there too. No, it's there too. Look!
It's behind too. All that is there too. Very big.
I think this is it. This is the confirmation ticket. Because he took my passport number at the gate.
The guard put my passport number in the system. So it came in his system. That there is a ticket issued in my name.
So he let me in at that time. Then he checked my bag and went inside. And now I saw that confirmation.
The order ID is written in it. And the seat number is also mentioned. But I thought it would be a QR code.
There will be a proper ticket. But. I think that's what it is.
You guys have seen the rest of my journey. From my house to the railway station. Beijing has impressed me a lot.
Beijing city. I would have said it before. I have never been fascinated by China.
What to do? I always thought like this. I don't have such a good relationship with them.
But I finally saw it. You can't compare Beijing with Delhi. In terms of development.
If you look at it, both the cities are very similar. Both are the capital cities of the most populous countries in the world. And both are the most populous capital cities in the world.
And both countries are Asian. And both countries are the big economies of Asia. But you have seen on the roads.
There were such big highways. And there were trees too. There was greenery too.
People were riding bicycles too. Everything was managed. There were open highways.
There were jams too. So it was not like that. People are breaking the rules.
There will be a lot of crowd. There was a lot of pollution. It's amazing.
I mean, China has developed a lot. In the last few countries. I was very surprised when I came here.
Now our train must have arrived. It's G7 train. Look, it's written G7.
Departs at 10. It will leave at 10. For Shanghai, gate number 13 is open.
On time. All trains are on time. None of them is delayed.
What's on that side? All of them are on time. The one in red means the check-in is closed.
This is gate 13B. Check-in will be done here. They have closed it now.
Check-in hasn't started. I think they open it an hour earlier. It's not even 9am yet.
The train will leave at 10 am. G7 is written on the screen too. In my opinion, perosnally if I've eaten the worst food in any country then that is China.
As I can't get anything to eat here I was forced to eat McDonald's. I don't like McDonald's anyway. As I was helpless I thought as I can't get anything I'll eat here.
I ordered 2 burgers here. I knew if I don't like one, I'll eat the other one hence I ordered 2. I knew that I won't like it.
It has such a bad taste. The taste of the things is so different here & I don't like McDonald's anyway. But I was left without any choice I don't like to waste food.
I tried my best to avoid it but now if I eat one more bite I'll vomit. Now I will have to throw it away. Really I'm in such a bad mood here because of the food in China.
Don't even ask! Let's go and board the train. I am in a bad mood.
Here is ours. . .
I think check-in is open. Yes, there's a queue here. I don't think it's open.
People are just standing in the queue. I'll have to show my passport manually as there're automatic machines. Here it is.
It's ours! It's a very long queue. Let's wait somewhere.
I got my train ticket for 667 Chinese Yuan. Chinese currency is Yuan or Renminbi 667 Yuan is about ₹8000. The distance from Beijing to Shanghai is more than 1200km.
Do you know how long the train will take? You won't believe it, only 4. 5 hours!
More than 1200 km in just 4. 5 hours, as this is a bullet train. I didn't tell you about the taxi fare, when I came here.
It was a 28-29 minute journey in taxi & it cost me 40 Yuan. My seat is second class. The cheapest one is that followed by first & business class.
The train I took yesterday was for just a 40 minute journey. I got a business class for that train ride as second & first class were sold out. A friend booked it for me but I paid her 100 yuan.
I think it was 105 or 107 yuan. So for a 40 minute journey, I got a business class seat for around ₹1200. But if I got a business class seat for this train it was probably for 2500 Yuan which is about ₹30,000 for just 4.
5 hours. But look at the distance, it's 1200 km in just 4. 5 hours.
As you saw in the business class, the last train had all the facilities but today I'll travel in second class. ₹30,000 is very expensive. Frequency of bullet trains is very high between Beijing and Shanghai, They run every hour.
It was 8, then 9, then 10, then 11. And this fast one was for 4. 5 hours There was a 6 hour one, 5.
5 hours one, 7 hours one. They stop more in between. Despite having such a high frequency all the trains are sold out and full.
Look at the crowd here. So a lot of people commute from Shanghai to Beijing on a daily basis. And vice versa!
I just saw my seat. . .
So my coach is 12 and from this gate, boarding is happening for coach number 1 to 10. 13A is where coach number 11 to 17 is being boarded. My coach number is 12, so I've to board from here I think I've to go from here.
This line is also small, the passport line. Or the manual one These are all with ID but I don't know why they're going through manual line. They are not going in the automatic line.
Well, it's good for us if we can go form here. We were 3 people, and they gave our passports there. The other 2 were white and we gave our passports there.
They checked it there, scanned it and gave it back They told them to let us go. We are 3 people, we have passports Let's go! This is coach 10, I have to go in 12.
The next one is 11, then one ahead will be 12. See this is 11 This is 12, I'm not really sure. Let's conform it as otherwise I wouldn't understand the chinese later.
Let's go, this is it. I think my seat is 19. This is the bullet train.
Place to keep things and this is the sitting area. 4, 5. .
. mine will be in the end. Let's go!
The light on top is amazing, right? Is 19 here or not? There are only till 18.
Oh, here it is. Why did I get the middle one! The worst seat possible.
As you can see there's a lot of leg space here despite being a second class seat. Hope I got the window seat. The seat gets reclined.
Usually, they start the train 1 or 2 minutes before time but I came outside as there's 15 minutes left. As we've already sat in the bullet train. I wanted to talk about infrastructure development.
In China, they have built 1,40,000 km long highways and if we talk about bullet train and high speed train then the network is 1,20,000 km long. Due to this in the whole world High speed rail, 5G, Artificial intelligence, renewable energy, & in e-commerce, China is number 1 in the world. There's no high speed rail network bigger than this.
Yesterday, the train was going at 250 kmph & people reacted as if it's not a big deal. I was shocked. Today's train will likely go beyond 300 kmph.
China's GDP is growing so fast. In 1978, it was 150 billion USD but now in 2022 it was 17 trillion USD which makes it world's second largest economy. USA is number 1 & China is at 2.
You've also seen that China's goods are exported globally. It's also the world's largest trading nation. I think according to 2020 they had a volume of 4 trillion USD so in 2020 it was 4 trillion.
Lets go! Let's sit down so that it doesn't leave me. As you can see all seats are occupied.
Not a single seat is empty I hope no one comes on this seat. I mean, this is booked but the person who booked I wish he miss today's train So that I can sit here One minute is left & the doors have closed. It started 10 seconds ago.
The train has reached a great speed, See, it's about 259 kmph already, It's going too fast. We are speeding up. It's too fast.
Look there! It's going at 347 kmph. It is going at 347 kmph & everything here is normal.
There are no jolts. Everyone here is sitting comfortably. The train left at 10 o'clock.
& I fell asleep at 10. 30. Now it is 1.
30 pm. I slept for 3 hours. I didn't even realized.
It was a smooth journey in this train There were no jolts I slept comfortably as the seat reclines and the leg space here is big. I slept on the back earlier and when I got tired I slept with my head on this. It was nice.
People are moving around at such high speed. There are no jolts or disturbance. It is amazing!
Let's stretch our legs as we were sitting for a long time. This is the view from this train. This was the view throughout.
Sometimes it was greenery, then huge buildings of China. I couldn't see it from my seat as I'm sitting in the middle. This is the train.
It is closed from all the 4 sides And. . .
Where is bathroom? There is no bathroom here I guess. The view from here is same too.
In between there're some tunnels It enters and leave it. Are you feeling that it's going at 350 kmph. There is a tunnel.
It left the tunnel. It is super fast. So amazing!
Speed of 350 kmph is too much. I am surprised. The people seated with me.
. . I was getting excited when we were on the move.
They also thought why am I so excited. It is normal for them but not for us. I've seen the map & checked how far we moved from Beijing It has been 3 hours and 40 minutes and we've covered 1050 km.
In our Indian Railway you can't move so easily with both hands free. There are so many jolts in normal railway. Its speed is just 100km/hr.
Look at kids playing at 350 kmph, people are passing by. There are no jolts. You've seen the water bottle.
was half full & I kept it down. The bottle didn't fall and I kept my watch on the bottle that also didn't fall. You saw it a while back.
There is no competition with them for high speed trains. They're taking food whoever wants to buy it. Every 5-10 minutes they take trolleys like this.
You must be thinking In India the train compartment in between people smoke cigarette near the gate. You always find someone smoking. You must be thinking why it's not like that here.
A person can smoke here also but it is not easy as there was an announcement here that if you smoke cigarette do things that trouble other passengers, or you're travelling without a ticket then your credit score will be reduced. Every person has a score on which he is judged His credit score will be reduced if he's travelling without a ticket, bothers other passengers or smokes then he won't be able to buy train tickets anymore. He will face social restrictions.
Obviously If he wants to buy a house or a loan or any other ticket as it will reflect on his national ID. His credit score will be reduced. So no one can think of committing a crime as if he commits a crime you won't suffer from it today but you'll have to suffer for rest of your life.
So, people here are very disciplined. They've more control over every person's life. Everything is being monitored, and is being recorded.
but then again, there is safety as well. If you look at it, there is no crime. But I feel like there's a lot of control.
I'm looking at the views, from the window then it feels like everything's happening in fast motion. Everything is increased in speed. You get used to seeing view from the car as things crosse slowly.
Here it's super fast. I had to reach at 2. 35 pm and it is 2.
31 now & the train is about to stop. They punctuality is uncanny. Look at the time.
Our next station is Shanghai. The station is here and look at the time it stopped at 2. 35.
It was 2. 34 and it is now 2. 35.
Let's go! It's so amazing! Covering a distance of 1,500 km And exactly, not a second late or early They reached at the exact time mentioned.
They started at the exact time. It is terrific. The train was for 10 am and it started at 10.
00 It was supposed to arrive at 2. 35. It arrived exactly at 2.
35. It was my first experience of a bullet train for a long journey from Beijing to Shanghai. Two of the biggest cities of China!
The train must be great have run at full speed. It was amazing. The last speed I saw was 350 kmph and after that, I fell asleep.
After waking up, I didn't pay attention to the speed. It must have gone above 350 kmph but, what I saw with my own eyes, was 349 kmph. I think I've captured 348 on the camera.
It has gone above 350 kmph in front of me. I didn't pay attention for the last 1. 5 hours.
I was using my phone so it might've gone above 350 kmph as it's said that it goes up to 360 kmph. It goes much more than this but, keeping safety in mind, it doesn't go as fast as it can. It can go more than 400 kmph.
China has a bullet train faster than this. Shanghai Maglev has a speed of 460 kmph. It goes from Shanghai airport to Shanghai city.
Was 350 kmph less that this goes at 460 kmph. I'm surprised it can cover 1000s of km exactly according to the schedule. Neither 10 seconds ahead nor 10 seconds behind.
It drops you at the exact same time even though, the train stopped on the way. It is still amazing. China's bullet train has really impressed me.
Let's say goodbye now. It was crowded at the exit hence I wasn't going out. It's less crowded so let's go out of the station.
Do you know why it was crowded as everyone is traveling on this. No one goes down through the stairs. There was a long queue for this.
What do I have to show here? I have my ticket in my phone. I have to show my passport again for the exit here.
This is the manual one. Hello! Lets go!
Is the airport also here? They've brought me to the airport. It's not main international airport.
but domestic airport of Shanghai. This station was Shanghai Hongqiao. Bullet train that had to come in the center of Shanghai was sold out.
This one was available so I took this one. Now, let's take a ride in this. See metro line 2 &10 works here.
Let's take the metro to the city as the hostel I've booked is a 40-minute drive from here. It's 20 kilometers from here. We're not in the center as we've to go to the center.
Let's take the train and reach there. I hate this M since I ate their dirty food in morning. Lets go with this we'll reach early.
There's also an option of subway ticket. I think Alipay will work with Beijing. Let's see.
Their main airport is Pudong Airport. The train goes from here to Pudong Airport & it passes through the city. We've to take the same line 2.
It goes from center to main airport. Here comes the machine. Let me open Alipay for payments that is used in China.
I used my card. In the Alipay application I had taken Beijing Metro card but it wasn't on it. I went to separate application & I obtained card.
It had an option if I need bus or metro card or both. I took that works in both. There was an option to verify your ID although, I already put my ID details in my Alipay but it verified with face's photo.
It got verified in 2 minutes & I used QR code from mobile phone and gate opened. Money will be deducted from Alipay when I get down. Alipay is connected to my card.
Let's go. This is a good thing. This facility is good here.
We have to take this one. Line 2 of Pudong International Airport. Line 2.
This one. We've to take the one on this side. If you're coming to China, I'll show you some applications on the screen download these on your phone.
All of them are mostly in Chinese. It'll not download from Indian App Store as Chinese apps are banned in India. You'll have to make your Apple ID of some other country.
Or, Google ID! Google is also banned. It'll not work for you.
You can use SIM cards of India for international roaming. Or SIM card of Hong Kong or of any other country. You can't use the Google services from the Wi-Fi or SIM card of China.
You can't use Meta, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp. If you watch my previous videos, you will understand how to do it. WeChat is the main application.
If you download that, everything is sorted but it'll not be downloaded easily as I've not downloaded it yet. I have to verify it from the local. It's a lot of trouble.
To see the directions to reach city Google Maps isn't working so I'll check it from Apple Maps. But, Apple Maps is also not that good. It doesn't show full listing of China.
We've reached People's Square station in the center of Shanghai. Metro is on both sides. We've got down from one side.
On the other side is another one. Let's go to our hostel. Look at the crowd on the stairs.
Let's hang the bags again. We've to take exit number 6. See exit number 6 to 12 is here.
It's Monday afternoon. It's 3. 30 PM.
Hence, the station is very busy. This is exit gate number 6 to 12. Now, let's scan the QR code from the app and get out.
I'm checking directions from Apple Maps. Apple Maps is working here. But, as I told you, it doesn't show entire listing.
For that, there're some maps like Baidu, etc. but, mostly, it's in Chinese. You've to translate it and put it in the Chinese script.
The exact listing is on them. It's manageable. I got my hostel on Apple Maps.
We've left the mall. We have to go to exit number 6. Mobile cover.
Straps. Tripod. Tiktok is very popular here.
Every other person is making video here. 7-11. I think this is the first 7-11 I saw.
I didn't see 7-11 in Beijing. There's a chain of 7-11 here. You'll see it in Asian countries.
I don't know if it is in India but it's in other countries like Vietnam, Malaysia. Let's go out now. This is the first one I saw in China.
I didn't see it in Beijing. Finally, stepped into the largest city of China - Shanghai. And, look at this.
Welcomed wirh a good weather. Shanghai is an economic hub of China. It's a global financial hub.
It's looking good so far. Look. There're some statues here and this looks more touristy amongst foreigners as I haven't seen any foreigners in Beijing.
Although, I haven't seen any but, I've a feeling that foreigners are usually seen in such places. But, I didn't seen anyone in Beijing. Let's see.
You'll get to see it through the video. There're many people here entering the subway. Let's go there towards the road.
I think, there is a mall here. I'm at the main road. There're companies' showrooms here.
of different brands. I think, we've to cross the road. I think, we've to go that way.
I've a feeling that we can't go there by crossing. Let's cross from here & I'll show you. I think, we had to cross from down there.
It was underground. As you can see the road there's no crossing for pedestrians. Let's find a way to cross.
Cold air is coming from mall due to A. C. Lets go!
It's looking like an international city. It's different from Beijing. You can see global brands for clock , clothes, food.
There's an International atmosphere. Beijing was very traditional, very typical Chinese. Here I'm feeling it looks like an international city.
I saw many showrooms of Swiss watches of different companies. Look, it's written in English. No Chinese, English is written mostly.
All banners are in English. which is very rare. I think we'll finally have less language problems that troubled us in Beijing.
What is this? A phone booth. Wi-Fi is written on top.
It's their STD. Yesterday I ate in an Indian restaurant so I asked them if there's any Indian store in Beijing where I can get Indian stuff like groceries, tea leaves, etc. They said it's not here, but in Shanghai.
It's not in the capital city, it's here. Hence, more things will be here, obviously. Let's cross, we found it finally!
Uncle, what are you looking at? I'm already feeling bad of why I spent 8 days in Beijing. I should've come here earlier.
I'm feeling good so far. There're big buildings in Shanghai. There're 4000 skyscrapers in total.
If you noticed when we were coming by train, or you're seeing it now too population of China is very urban. People live in big cities. There're big buildings everywhere.
You might've seen that when we were going by bullet train there were views on the roads but there were no rural views. You couldn't see the rural views. It was totally green where people don't live.
There were big buildings where people lived. There were skyscrapers, big condominiums, big houses. This is actually that China's population is mostly urban now.
40-50 years ago, only 150-200 milion population was urban and the rest was rural. But today, in 2024, over 800 million is urban. More than 60% of their population lives in big cities.
and isn't rural anymore. Tthe country has developed so much and has become advanced. In India, big buildings like this can only be seen in big cities like Bangalore, Gurgaon or Delhi.
On the roads in small cities. // There was nothing like a village. Either a jungle, or it was all urban areas.
Big buildings. We've reached our location. Apple maps shows this as hostel location.
It's somewhere here. So. .
. From where should we enter? Let me turn off the camera and see.
Look at the delivery packages. There are a lot of parcels. Where am I?
I was standing in front of Dain Hostel & kept searching on Maps like crazy. Look at the road in front. I can see two buildings.
Two buildings how? They're connected to each other by stairs. They are on opposite sides of the road.
There is a fight. He is shouting on the car guy. Let's go.
Let's enter. Finally! Today's journey was fun.
Let's check-in at the hostel. I will show you the hostel. It looks good.
I didn't find any clean hostel in Beijing. They gave me a bed sheet & room key. They told me to take any bed available.
This is a common area. People have kept their bags. My room is on fourth floor.
446! I don't know when I will get a lift. We count ground floor as first floor.
I get confused every time here. This is room 446. This way.
The room is in the corner. This is it. The hostel is a very big.
Very big. Let's take this. Corner one.
I found the lower one. I usually find the upper one. I hate climbing up again & again.
This is the view from my room. There are some other people. Let's make the bed.
This is my bed. My legs aren't fitting well but it's fine. I'll sleep with a little bit of exercise.
I paid 360 yuan for the hostel. t's around ₹4200 or $49. 72 I paid $14-15 while booking online.
It's around ₹1300. This hostel costs around 6000 yuan for 3 days It's a little less than 6000 yuan. But it's almost 2000 yuan for a night.
Shanghai is expensive. But there are not many hostels here as there is not much culture. People who are staying in this room are from China.
I haven't seen people from outside. They must be in the hostel but I haven't seen them yet. There are very few hostels where you make your own bed.
It happens in countries where labor is expensive. You can see it in Europe. But in China, labor should be cheap.
Keep one or two people all the time as in hostels, people do everything for you. They have their own bed seats. You've to give it back when leaviing.
They haven't maintained bathroom properly yet as I went to wash my hands someone's clothes are hanging, towel, etc. The reception was not very polite. They asked for passport, ID, etc.
They don't have hostel culture yet. There is no use of Wi-Fi here as websites don't run like Instagram, WhatsApp, Facebook, etc. There is no YouTube.
I've a Hong Kong eSIM. I run mobile data from that eSIM. Hong Kong is a special administrative region of China but when you come to mainland China, it counts in international roaming.
So you can run all those things. I have express VPN, etc They don't work in China. If you think of using a VPN here They have a different VPN but they have less speed and is not fun to use.
School kids are staying in hostel. After keeping my luggage and resting a bit and working I have come out. There're school kids in the hostel.
Look at the darkness. It got dark early in Shanghai. It's 7.
30 in the evening. It got dark about 8. 45 in Beijing.
It's dark since now. It's not like it just got dark. It's been half an hour.
It was dark at 6. 45. It was completely dark at 7.
Just like now. Where am I going right now? I am going to the gym.
Obviously, first things first. And I was showing you. I found it on the map.
It's nearby. But I can't see it. I am looking for it.
It showed wrong location on Apple maps so I put it in their Chinese app. I am going through it now. It's guiding me in Chinese.
I can't understand anything. This road was empty in the evening. The time when I came.
At night it's lively here. People have come. There're stalls on the side for food and drinks.
Games. There's like a fair in front of malls here in evening. Things like these!
Clothes, t-shirts, food and drinks. Jewelery, etc. Map keeps saying in Chinese.
I think the gym is in this building. Let me go in and see. Name is also in Chinese.
This is like a mall. Let's go up and see. Adidas and that looks like a gym.
Is it? I came at the right place. This was quite close.
It was a 2-3 minute walk from hostel. Nice location! It's a small gym but I asked for a one day pass and they said it's for a month.
I asked for a week. As I came I asked for a day's pass and they denied saying it's for a month. I asked for a week and they said yes.
I asked the rate & they said 20 yuan. 20 yuan is not even ₹250. I thought it's so cheap and asked for the pass.
I didn't even see the gym properly & asked for a week membership. We spoke through Google Translate but it was not possible. I had to talk with Google Translate as we couldn't talk.
It was for 250 rupees. I took a week's pass but I needed WeChat. I don't have WeChat in my phone.
They kept trying. He put an application in my phone. It was in Chinese.
It's didn't get installed & QR code wasn't coming. We wasted half an hour. I got the entry somehow.
I have weekly pass for ₹250. Let's go and exercise. I will show you the gym.
It's not very big. This is for cardio and this is for extra classes. This area is for weight training.
It's quite small. See! This is it.
It's fine! The gym is so small that there's no washroom. There's locker room to change.
It's for name sake but it's cheap for a city like Shanghai. I got a week's pass for ₹200. It is 10:05 pm now and I am done with the exercise.
I am the last one to leave. Let's go out. I can't see the staff.
Who will close it? Don't know but let's keep this roller. I was stretching in last.
Let's go out now. This was the gym here. I came from the other side and it's lively here.
I think this is Shanghai's center. It's lively here and it felt it's 3 am when I was inside. I am finding food here hoping to find a restaurant.
There's subway here. Let's eat Subway. I won't find anything suitable in China.
It's also 10:30 pm now. Restaurants would have also closed by now. I think Subway is also closed.
This is also closed. Stay hungry now! Let's find a supermarket.
Maybe it is also not open. Let's end today's video. I get angry when I am hungry.
I will not be able to record properly. I'll end up saying something. Let's end today's video.
I'll eat, go to the hostel, shower & sleep. I'll explore Shanghai tomorrow & day after. You'll see updates in the video.
Hope you liked today's journey in bullet train from Beijing to Shanghai. I'm finding Shanghai quite nice. It seems international in comparison to Beijing.
I feel if I get good food here then I will end up enjoying. Goodbye!
