the 2024 editing Market is filled with 3D animated reels complex animations and high quality edits but in all this one editing style stands out for some reason this clean editing Style with basic text attracted such a huge percentage of the editing audience however this style is not as simple as it looks it simply relies on skills which you cannot see in this video I'm going to be teaching you what the bu maximize editing style is made up of to do this we're going to be taking this boring edit over here and turning it into this
clean edit over here but first first we're going to need to learn the three stages of the bi maximize editing style first we're going to go through storytelling and shot selection then we're going to go over the text placement theory that makes him special and finally we're going to go in depth into sound design and music we've got a lot to cover in this tutorial so if you want to follow along just go ahead and download the assets down below and let's go and get straight into the first phase storytelling and shot selection the entire
point of the bi maximized editing style is to bring a story to life using characters cool text and fitting music so the first step is creating a story which is the base for the whole thing so how do you create good stories let's simply explain this with an example in this short B maximiz starts off with a crazy claim or a new discovery he simply quotes when was the last time people were actually afraid this makes the viewer feel like they're doing something wrong he then goes on to explain why people should experience fear and
then uses his explanation to finish off the short by saying if you experience real fear then you are less likely to make mountains out of mole Hills so the structure is simple start off with a crazy claim or an interesting Discovery prove this discovery using logic then come to the conclusion related to the Discovery and there are two ways to do this we can start with method one which is creating Your Own Story you can simply structure it following this three-step guide we just mentioned and tell it in a way that seems as though you're
speaking about a character as for option two combine different perspectives to tell the story you'll first need a main topic and then you're going to need to collect a few different perspectives on this new topic then you just want to find a way to make them all flow into each other as if they're telling the same story by the way if any of this sounds confusing at the end of the video we're going to be recreating a complete video from scratch following all these steps so stick around till the end but now that you've put
together a story you're going to need to bring it to life and B maximize does this by showcasing different characters experiencing different emotions to bring the emotions of the story to life what do I mean by this if he mentions someone experiencing real danger he's going to show someone experiencing real danger if he mentions someone's feeling a certain emotion he's going to show that facial expression so he uses these different shots to bring these emotions to life and where does he get these shots well ideally you can either get them from someone else's recording or
from your own to get other people's recordings you can Source out movie clips from the websites you can see on the screen or just look at documentaries on YouTube because those contain high quality shots that are unedited and all you have to do is bring across the emotion in your story using a certain shot but that concludes how you can create a really good story and how you can tell it using good shots now it's on to wording out the story and this is the text theory that made by maximize very well known this text
theory is made up of three main things first we have four styles that are commonly seen then three animation Styles and the placement Theory and if you just combine these you're going to get the B maximiz St text style so let's go ahead and get started with the four text Styles you're first going to want to find two opposing fonts one that's minimal and advanced and one that's artistic just make sure that the minimal font has variations of thin oblique and bold for the text Styles the first one's going to be neutral and thin so
just add your text and select your font the second one's going to be the same text but bold so just duplicate the text and change it to bold and the third one will be a thin but italic version so just duplicate it once again and change it to italic however the fourth one is going to be the artistic one so just add in your text and change the font to the artistic one nice and simple now you're going to want to save these as motion graphic templates cuz as far as the text animations the first
one contains no animations the second one is simply a blur popup and this is done by adding a gajan blur effect and a transform effect then key framing the gajan blur value and changing it to 20 at the beginning then just move forward and make it zero key frame the position value at the position it is now then move that key frame forward and move the text down a bit smoothing out your key frames and this is what you're going to get as for our third animation it's just a write out and you can either
do this in After Effects or in premere Pro but in premere Pro just drag in a reset from Mr horse and don't forget to change the text font and size okay so now that we have the text Styles and the animations how do we place them just like by maximize this is actually the same text placement theory that magazines use the objective here is simply to find a way to fit the text into the environment so if I have a character in the middle and he's taking up the middle of the screen I want the
text and the areas that are empty or if we have a wall in the background and a character up front I want to fit the text to the wall in the background but the secret is in doing the actual text instead of just placing it as a paragraph you fit it together like a puzzle to form this beautiful style to do this you just fit different texts into each other and play around with the size of the text based on their importance and the workflow for this is really simple we just write out our text
then align them as we wish then align them based on where they are set and once again this is just a theory but we're actually going to be applying this at the end of the video the whole point of the by maximize editing style is to just fit the text into the environment all right now that we understand how to put together an amazing Story how to show this story using good footage and how to bring it to life using the text placement Theory all that is left is sound design and this is the most
important part so let's start by breaking it down the sound design in B maximize videos is really really in-depth we'll get into the workflow but first you're going to need to collect a high quality sound effects pack so the first thing we do is create a folder called sfx then classify a bunch of folders for the sound effects you use I use whooshes sweeps risers hits nature sounds Folly ecology and textures now it's time to fill these up you can either use something like epidemic sounds or art list IO to download really high quality sound
effect effects but the goal here is to download a lot of sound effects like a lot and just filter out the best ones so if you want to do this for free you can head over to gumroad and download a bunch of free sound effects or you can scroll on Instagram until you find those comment down below the word s effects and I'll send you a free pack videos and just gather a whole bunch of them once again filter out the best ones for this style as for how we actually do the sound design the
workflow kind of looks like this first we're going to go through and add textur sound effects and clicks and we do this to any important text that comes up and to also transition in between any two clips and we can also use the camera shutter sound effect to transition between scenes then it's time to bring those scenes to life and that's where we use nature sounds Folly sounds and ecology to basically bring more life to scenes like this one it's all about setting the environment with sound sign finally we go in and we add emotion
to the video and we do this by combining whooshes hits and risers to build the viewer's anticipation and drop it when necessary it's a very complex process but the result that we achieve is a captivating and engaging story and with this being said it's time to go through and recreate this entire complete video from scratch step by step cuz we've just covered how to create an amazing story and bring it to life using movie scenes then we talked about how we can use the text placement Theory from the bi maximize editing style and we even
took a deep dive into sound design but this is all a fraction of what's inside the clean editing master class at ultimate editors and if you're wondering what ultimate editors is just give me 60 seconds of your time to explain it ultimate editors is a plan that allows video editors to master video editing in 30 days and make $1 to $2,000 in 30 days as well how exactly do we even do that we've got four phases in the ultimate editor's plan first it's Premier Pro Mastery using both Premier Basics and advanced Premier Pro courses then
it's after effects Mastery using both After Effects Basics and advanced After Effects master class then we go over the three high-paying viral short form editing Styles in 2024 and lastly we go over three of the highest quality long form editing Styles in 2024 and you might be thinking Joseph there's no way you have this much value inside of one Community surely the courses aren't good well each of our modules contains 20 to 30 courses at least breaking down each editing style step by step best part is so many people have already mastered editing in just
30 days we even include a 30-day land client master class which helps you build an amazing personal brand gather inbound leads into Outreach and even teaches you the sales script to closing high-end clients and this plan has gotten our members to The ,000 Mark within just two weeks so if you're interested in joining timate editors you can watch a completely free video on everything inside of it by clicking the link down below but remember the price is increasing every few months or so so join quickly but with this in mind let's go ahead and recreate
this short completely from scratch all right so the idea I had in mind is to merge a 10-second clip of me speaking to a 10-second clip of someone on a podcast continuing my train of thought and finish it off with another 10-second clip so to structure my side of the story I started with a claim like all it takes is hard work then I followed it up with three stop claims like stop saying I'm tired stop getting out of bed late and stop feeling sorry for yourself then I transitioned into the second section of the
story saying just sit down get the work done and you'll understand that this was your passion all along and this was important because I wanted to start planning the shots for this section so when I'm saying stop saying I'm tired I want to express someone being tired and when I say stop getting out of bed late I wanted to show someone getting out of bed late and so on and after recording everything this is what we end up with a roll of me saying the story and then b roll shots of me doing the actions
so let's head into premere Pro and put this all together first I add in my voice over and chop it all up removing the silences and pacing it well now since I finished it up with me saying then you're going to find your passion I wanted someone to continue that train of thought so I dragged in this clip of David Gogan speaking about pass passion and I placed it right after I mentioned passion and then David goggin talks a bit more about discipline and that fits in really well with passion and to continue the thought
of discipline I added in this clip of Habib talking about hard work and by putting these together I form a really cool story with three different perspectives on discipline but now it was on to step two which was adding in our footage now I've already planned this for my voiceover so here's what I did I added a clip of me sleeping when I say this stop saying I'm tired then I had a shot of me sitting on the bed for this section stop getting out of bed late then a shot of half of my face
for this section here and stop feeling sorry for yourself then I added a shot of half of my face in the sunlight here just sit down then for the ending I added this shot of me working on the PC you actually realize that this was your passion and right before it over here I wanted to create a match cut of me working so I added in five shots of me sitting on a chair and then I aligned all of them together as closely as possible so that when we cut them there's not a huge change
in position and finally I made each one two frames long duplicated some and this is what we got get your work done now on to adding shots for the rest of the video and the first section he says this it's every day of your life so I added a shot of a man contemplating and a man driving as for this section here I added a shot of a guy looking at the camera and another shot just like it and one more of a guy expressing anger while driving as for this section here in this first
clip Habib says this if you don't want okay leave so I left it as it is then here I added a shot of him wrestling and another angle of that shot and for this last section I started with a shot of a guy Shadow Boxing then had a shot of a young khabib looking tired then had a shot of his father speaking and finished it off with a shot of habib's final fight all right so we now have a very well put together story and some amazing footage it's time to choose the right music track
I wouldn't go too in depth into this topic because it's huge and needs a whole video on it but if you guys are interested in something like that just comment down below oh and while you're commenting you might as well subscribe to the channel but I basically simply looked at the music which by maximiz was using in his reals and tried each one out to see which one fits the best and I found this song called Runway by County West and so I matched it so that the Beat Drops on this last clip and with
this story Place footage in place and finally the music in place it was finally time to get to work on the text now for this first clip I wanted to create some text behind me so I right clicked and I clicked on replace with After Effects composition then I clicked my rotoscope tool double clicked on my layer and rotoscoped myself out of the frame making sure it was clean now in this clip what I said is all it takes is hard work so I decided to use our regular text style for the words all it
takes and use the artistic text style for the words hard work so I added in our regular text and duplicated it two times then I added in my artistic text and duplicated one time then I wrote out the words all it takes wrote out the words hard work and this is where we can start doing magic I made the word all big over here then place the words it takes under it like so and the words hard work in front of me like so and if we place my rotoscope layer above our top words this
is what we get nice and simple so let's go ahead and do this for the rest of the video here I say this stop saying I'm tired so I added this textile duplicated it three times then wrote out the words stop saying I'm tired then I made the word stop bold the word saying regular and I'm tired oblique then I aligned it to the words as I say them and I place the word stop up here saying right under it and I'm tired down over here for this next clip I once again R scoped myself
then duplicated the text five times wrote out the word stop getting out of bed late and the way I fit these is I made the word stop the biggest then plac getting under it I fit the words out of over here and I fit the word bed under here then lastly I just fit the word late under all them for this next shot my face takes up the whole left side so I decided to write out on the right side so we added the word stop feeling sorry for for yourself and I made sure to
use a bold font for the word stop with an artistic font for the word yourself now we have the match cut to my face again in sunlight and this time I wrote out the words just sit down and once again align them to the right side over here and now for this big section over here I say get your work done so I use the bolt font for the word work and an artistic font for the word done and place the word get up here and the word your right next to it but smaller and
the word work under both of them at a bigger size and fit the empty space in the word done under here and for our last scene we had a bit of a longer phrase to subtitle here so we first rotoscoped me out of the frame and I started by adding in these four text layers writing out then you'll actually realize then I made the word then big again and made the word Ule on the left side made the word actually on the right side here and the word realize under all of it I then nested
it and aligned it using basic 3D with my background wall then simply changed the blending mode to Overlay and place my rotoscope character above it with this done I added four texts and wrote out this was your then I made the word that big and the word this and was small and under it and made the your big on the left side then I finally added the word passion and made it in an artistic font and for the words all along I made the previous text fade out at the end then added this bold pop-up
text style and duplicated it and wrote out onl so with this being said that's how we completed the first section of the video and I don't want to waste any more of your time before we get into sound design so let's quickly recap how I did the rest of the video I basically kept doing the exact same workflow adding in text duplicating it based on the amount of words writing out all the words and then realigning them and I did this for the entire short and this was very timec consuming but the result at the
end was amazing so stick around to the end to see it but with this being said we now have a complete short with music story footage and even all the text laid out so it's finally time to get into this sound design before we get into this I'm going to go ahead and form my high quality sound effects p and mine is basically made up of n's free sound effects pack the filb bur sound effects back and a few more that aren't necessary now the first thing that we're going to need to add in is
our textured clicks and our camera shutter sound effects to the text and the footage so in this intro over here I decided to highlight each title and really make it hit the viewer so I added this tiny click sound effect for the word all and I matched it just as it appeared then I added it to the word it the word takes then lastly I chose these other two clicks and added them to the word hard and work and this just adds a bit of variety in the sound design and this is what it turned
out like in the end all it takes is hard work and that's it for the text but keep in mind I'm only going to be using this very very rarely cuz if I use it too much it's going to be overwhelming to the viewer now for this section here we transition from a roll to some footage so I align a click to the point of the cut which makes the cut smoother and I do that for another cut and I do that for the last cut too now in this match cut section to really sell
the effect I can make it sound like a shutter I do this by simply adding a click to every single time I make a cut and I finish it off with the camera shutter because this kind of builds up the viewer's anticipation and here's what that looks like get your work done and for this last section here I also added clicks for when each text popped up by doing the same thing as before taking a click and aligning it with the the moment the text appears and notice how in the first 10 seconds I only
do this two times now for the rest of the video I added a lot of clicks when transitioning in between cuts to make all the cuts feel smoother and in the moments of anticipation like this one I added a few tiny clicks for the text popping up just as we've done before and this sums up the textured sound effects of this style but the next step is to bring these scenes to life and to do this we're going to be setting in some ambient environmental sound effects that set the scene so for this first shot
here I added the crowd talking in the background just to make this scene look like there's a lot of noise in my mind and notice how I extend this across all three shots this is to build up the viewer's anticipation throughout the three shots then in the next shot I added some breathing to add more pressure once again extended it till the end and then to add contrast after our buildup I start with some subtle breathing after the big anticipation then we add this so-called spiritual awakening sound just to settle things down and to make
this point of transition smoother we will add in a whoosh to top it all off and this is what you're going to end up with stop saying I'm tired stop getting out of bed late and stop feeling sorry for yourself just sit down now let's go ahead and jump over to this section over here around 10 seconds later we have another buildup and this guy looks like he's driving in a city so we added aity Ambiance and this guy looks unstable so we added a little bit of rumbling to make the scene eerie and for
this last scene we add in some heavy breathing and finally to transition into this scene we're going to add in a whoosh and to anticipate it better we can even add in a riser and this is what the final scene looks like no passion someone sitting in the room by themselves and they figure themselves out God this is going to suck now for this last section over here it's really easy the first two shots are in the gym so we're going to add in some gym Ambiance from the clip then for this shot we'll add
in some heavy breathing and for this last one we're going to add in a grass rustling sound effect and we finish it off with a whoosh and that concludes the sound design for the video and with this all finally done this is what our crazy timeline finally looks like and I know you've been waiting so long to see what the final result looks like but real quick before we enjoy this short together if you want the master editing Styles like this and many others check out ultimate editors linked down below and now go ahead and
enjoy the short all it takes is hard work stop saying I'm tired stop getting out of bed late and stop feeling sorry for yourself just sit down get your work done then you'll actually realize that this was your passion all along it's every day of your life just doing no passion someone sitting in the room by themselves and they figure themselves out and say God this is going to suck if you don't want okay leave who cares you're tired or not nobody care about you he was tired he have personal problem family nobody ladies and
gentlemen thank you so much for watching it means the world to me to see so many of you make it till the end of the video so if you made it this far as usual go ahead and comment down below the word fire so I know who made it this far and for this video I want you guys to let me know what you think of this video style this video's bacing and the slower pacing that we're going with I saved the best part for last so God bless all of you guys and I'll see
you in the next video but before we finish things off as usual you can feel free to click on one of these two videos for example my personal favorite one is actually this one over here
