How are you? I am Doctor Roberto Yano Cardiologist and Specialist in Pacemaker. What we do know is that anxiety can manifest itself with psychological symptoms such as fear, apprehension, anguish, restlessness, insomnia, difficulty concentrating at work and school; but what about the physical symptoms?
Did you ever stop to think? They exist too! Many people look for me in the office thinking they have a heart disease, but actually they are anxious!
Of course if you have these physical symptoms you need to rule out other diseases like heart disease, thyroid, anemia, gynecological diseases. The important thing is to always look for a good doctor in case these physical symptoms that I'm going to tell you about happen. But first, are you already subscribed to my channel?

Five Physical Symptoms of Anxiety. First physical symptom: change in heart rhythm. A person suffering from anxiety may have a change in heart rate.
Most of the time, the heart rate speeds up and the person becomes tachycardic; many report the feeling that the heart will come out through the mouth. Excessive stress, anxiety, makes your body release more adrenaline, which is a hormone that increases heart rate. Some people who already have a diagnosed rhythm can feel a mismatch in the heart, the acceleration of heartbeats!
I always say that even if you already have a diagnosis of anxiety, even if you are already using some medication, you should look for a Cardiologist if you are experiencing palpitations, for example. We always need to rule out the possibility that you have heart disease! Anxiety always enters him as a diagnosis of exclusion.
I have some patients, for example, who were only dealing with anxiety, who took time to look for me to investigate, they felt palpitations; and in the end I found they were anxious, but they also had arrhythmia! In addition to palpitation being a physical symptom of anxiety, it can also be a symptom of an arrhythmia, that is, a heart disease! If your heart speeds up, look for a Cardiologist too!
Second physical symptom of anxiety: dizziness. There's a video here on the channel already, about dizziness; I'll leave it here on the card. Patients who suffer from anxiety often report dizziness especially when they are in crisis.
There's a dizziness called phobic postural vertigo, it happens in specific situations. Who of you has ever had dizziness, for example, in crowded places or has seen someone get dizzy and fall at a party? If you've seen it, I want you to comment here in the comments!
This is oscillatory vertigo and the dizziness a person feels can be triggered by crowded places. This vertigo is associated with fear of leaving the house, fear of falling, fear of reaching a crowded place and being sick. Look, how the emotional factor can cause physical symptoms!
Most of the time, when the doctor examines the patient, everything is normal! Treatment, then, is usually guidance, hydration, exercise and in some cases you may need some medication! So, if you have recurrent dizziness or dizziness that doesn't get better, or it's associated with another symptom such as palpitation or fainting, always see a good doctor!
Third physical symptom of anxiety: shortness of breath. Who of you loses your breath when you get nervous, stressed, arguing with someone? Yeah, it happens to everyone!
People with anxiety can have these symptoms constantly! They may feel that they are losing their breath and that they can no longer breathe. Shortness of breath is usually accompanied by palpitations, meaning the heart speeds up as well.
Try to calm down in stressful situations and, of course, if you are having a strong anxiety attack, seek emergency care! And my orientation is always this, it's the third time I'm saying it, see the doctor if you're having shortness of breath and palpitations! It is important to always be evaluated by a Cardiologist!
Even if it's to rule out heart disease or even to make sure it's nothing! I see many people with anxiety reporting symptoms like this! I had to talk in this video as it happens practically every day!
Despite knowing that it is anxiety and symptoms like these can occur in people with anxiety, my obligation is always to rule out heart disease. That's also important for the patient to feel calmer! When he faces anxiety and has palpitations again, he will think: "I went to the Cardiologist and the doctor said I have nothing!
I can calm down! " Just going to the doctor makes him more relaxed! Do you know anyone who has these symptoms?
Shortness of breath, palpitation or dizziness? Isn't it really anxiety? Let's help, guys!
Share this video on WhatsApp groups! If you send it to two more people, these two people send it to two others, imagine how many people will learn to take better care of their health! But let's go?
Fourth physical symptom of anxiety: tingling in the arms and tongue. Numbness in the arms, hands and tongue can also be caused by stress or anxiety. In people with panic disorder, this symptom may also be accompanied by other symptoms such as cold sweat, chest pain, shortness of breath and palpitation.
Tingling in the limbs can happen because there is an increased release of adrenaline in anxiety attacks! The body understands that you are preparing to fight or to flee! Your body starts to direct more blood flow to your muscles so they become stronger and stiffer!
It's interesting, isn't it? As you have seen, in addition to tingling, the muscles in the limbs, back and neck can become more rigid because they receive more blood when we are more stressed, anxious and more nervous! Did you understand then where that pain in the neck comes from, in the cervical region that never gets better?
Are you not too anxious, too stressed? Let's go to the last symptom, the fifth physical symptom of anxiety: tiredness. You wake up tired, spend the day tired, even when you are not working you are tired and feel weak from time to time!
Is it anxiety? Anxiety does not itself cause muscle weakness; but it can make you feel tired. This tiredness can become more intense when the person has recurrent anxiety attacks.
There are several diseases that make a person feel tired too, such as hypothyroidism, heart failure, anemia, even depression! So, don't take medicine and vitamins without knowing what health problem you have! Seek for help to have the correct diagnosis and to be able to treat you properly!
You saw that anxiety can give many physical symptoms and these symptoms that I talked about are the main ones. Anxiety is a treatable psychiatric illness! Treatment can alleviate most or all of these symptoms!
So take care, look for a psychiatrist or psychologist and exercise, eat well and have a hobby! All of these things will help you to live longer and with a better quality of life! Okay, guys?
So today's message is this! A big hug and until next time!
