I've discovered the secret blueprint to blowing up on YouTube as a matter of fact I've launched this channel just over a year ago and using this exact blueprint gained over 30,000 subscribers and 1. 3 billion views so if you want to achieve similar results for your own channel then you came to the right place because after today's video you will know how to gather High performing video ideas how to script a good YouTube video and the editing behind engaging YouTube videos and at the end of the video we will even be applying everything that we learned and editing a complete long form video from scratch so with without further Ado let's get straight into it but real quick everything that we're going to be covering in this video is just a sneak peek into my YouTube growth course which is inside of ultimate editors but more on that at the end of the video so here's how this video is going to go first we will take a look at the strategy behind Gathering good video ideas that work every time then we will study how we can create good video scripts that keep our viewers engaged after that we will dive into the editing Concepts that make a YouTube video engaging and finally we will be applying all these Concepts and editing a complete long form video from scratch so let's Kickstart this process by gathering High performing video ideas every High performing video starts with a high performing video idea Gathering ideas and scripting are building the base of your video so it's very important that we nail these down now we all know that your video is going to be shown to a certain kind of audience based on what nich you are in if you're making gaming videos it's going to be shown to a gaming audience if you're making car related videos it's going to be shown to a car audience so the secret to Gathering a really good video idea is to first of all find the audience which your video is going to and then discover what they are interested in and here's a special secret the audience's interest is always based off of a problem that they are facing or a desire that they want to achieve and we call this the pain to desire Journey For example you're watching this video about how to blow up on YouTube and you specifically have a pain of not succeeding on YouTube and getting low views and also have a desire of blowing up on YouTube and gaining a big following now quick question where did my video fit into this formula right here it is the vehicle or the method which you will use to get from your pain to your desire so here's what you got to do to find really good ideas discover what your audience's pains are and what your audience's desires are then start coming up with video ideas that take them from the pain to the desire and when you're first starting out it's good to create a list of 20 different video ideas and specifically filter out the 10 best ones and with this being said it's time to choose one idea and get started on scripting it into a good video and this process will actually affect the end result or the video that we're editing just stick around till the end to see how our video script actually affected the edit scripting is where you take the idea and actually form it into a video now the video is split into three main sections you've got the intro the body and the call to action the intro takes up around 30 to 45 seconds whereas the total video length depends on the kind of video that you're making but generally it's going to be somewhere around the 8 to 14 minute Mark and the call to action should only take around 20 to 30 seconds but what exactly is each section responsible for well think of it from the viewers perspective as you're watching the intro you should get an idea of what the video is about you should decide whether you're actually interested in watching the video or not and you should also have a reason to stick stick around till the end and these are the three main goals for the intro it presents the video idea creates curiosity and gives the viewer a reason to stick this shows you exactly why the intro is the most important part of the whole video If this fails then the viewer won't even make it to the rest of the video check out this intro that I scripted over here this video specifically teaches viewers how to sound design short form content I first create curiosity by saying that the reason the viewer doesn't think his videos are engaging are not because of the animation but because of the sound design this makes the viewer more Curious to learn about sound design then I present the idea by saying in today's video I will be talking about how you can sound design short form content and to give the viewer a reason to stay till the end I tell him that we will be sound designing a short together from scratch at the end of the video now put this all together and you're going to end up with a very engaging intro and as we're editing our intro at the end of the video you'll see me using specific strategies to create the engaging intro that we need but here's the thing even if our viewer is extremely interested in watching our video he's eventually going to lose interest over time which is exactly why we use engaging editing to keep our viewers interested but the thing that most people don't even know is that this whole process actually starts with the script the body of the video has to focus on providing as much value as possible in the most comprehensive way however only providing information will result in the viewer getting bored instead we have to actually provide the information in a story because a story is generally more engaging and as our viewer gets bored of watching the video we will capture his interest Again by introducing a new concept or some kind of twist in the story to keep him interested so how exactly do we do that well this is complet completely up to you my friend one of the most important aspects of a video is authenticity you don't just want to be another character you actually want to be you so be you say it the way that you want to say it and tell the story the way that it feels right to you only then will the video be authentically you and as for the call to action at the end just tell the viewers to subscribe or like the video speaking of which if you aren't subscribed feel free to scroll down below and maybe just click that beautiful subscribe button but with all this done you will end up with a fully scripted video that is ready to be recorded which is the final step in this stage to record your YouTube video it is super simple just get a phone or a camera that records acceptable quality try not to record on your Samsung smartfish just use something decent make sure you place yourself in the middle grab a mic or if you're recording with your phone then that's your mic and just click record and send it and then you'll end up with a YouTube video an untouched file that contains the end result of a wellth thought out plan and a video script so much work has been put into this one file so let's not mess this up in the editing process by this point you've used an amazing video idea to create an amazing video script and also recorded the entire video now it's time to actually edit the whole YouTube video this is where you're going to be spending the majority of your time now look the reason 90% of content creators fail is because they're doing nothing to stand out standing out is the sole reason for Success when I build my own channel I was in a sea of competitors and the only way I could prevent myself from drowning is by actually standing out from the competitors and I decided to do that with the editing style of the videos I made heavily edited cinematic masterpieces now I'm not saying you should do that to to but you should definitely do something to stand out and be special as a content creator so here's what we're going to do first we're going to go over the concepts of creating an engaging video and learn exactly what makes a video engaging then we're going to go in and apply these Concepts on a long form video from scratch sounds good all right let's get into it now there are a few stages to the quality of your YouTube videos you've got stage one which is just basic cuts and talking to the camera then you've got stage two which is using stock footage and text then you got stage three which is where you get into some minor graphic animations and simp design and then lastly stage four which is strictly using complex animations to show exactly what you're saying so choose which stage fits you best and remember to choose a specific stage that stands out in your Niche but now on to editing our video first you already know the drill drag in your footage and cut it all up moving all the silences and bad takes and this is a stage one video just cuts and a talking head but usually when editing a YouTube video the aim is to visually show what we're actually talking about this is because it's a lot easier for the viewer to understand what we're talking about visually instead of very and how we decide to do this is based on your own editing style stage two of YouTube editing allows us to use stock footage and text to show what you're talking about so as you're editing the video you're either thinking of potential stock footage that could show the viewer what you're talking about for example if I mention talking I can show someone talking if I mention walking I could show someone walking and the other option is to find a way to show this using text so when I mention talking I could write out talking and have it pop up and I can do the same thing for walk this is a very basic style because it will only rely on you finding the correct stock footage and writing out specific things here and there and to take this over to stage three we simply have to incorporate some more animations and movement meaning if you mention a certain person instead of just having a picture of that person on the screen you can have the image pop up and maybe even with a background or when you mention a certain action then you can have a certain icon pop up maybe even with a background now with this style as you're watching the video you have to truly truly understand what the person's saying and you have to pinpoint the special words that they're saying then you just have to take those special words and find a way to show them using animations to the viewer for example in this case I mentioned how my YouTube channel has 23,000 subscribers and a million views so I had this white background and a picture of the channel come up then I highlighted the subscriber count then had a picture of the view count come up and highlighted that notice how I'm using images and animations to show exactly what I'm saying this is actually the video editing style that the majority of people would look for because it's not too edited to the point where it's distracting but it's also edited enough to a point where it's actually entertaining to watch however for those of you who really want to stand out you'll need to edit in stage four this is where you only use animations to show everything that you're saying and this style stands out a lot however it is the most timec consuming and you're only going to be able to pump out one video a month and just like the previous stages we are watching through the video and looking out for those special words but what we're trying to do here is take all those special words and form them into some kind of continuous flowing animation that goes on throughout the whole video instead of cutting between stock footage text and animations we will now do everything as an animation and although this style is is very difficult with the right balance it allows you to get the best viewer engagement while still educating everyone and the most well-known people in the space always do this check out how imang gaji explains his points simply combining different graphic elements and animations or check out how Ali abdal uses his paper animations to show what he's talking about or take a look at Devon jaon how he uses animations to bring his point across and I've covered some of these editing styles on my own channel so check those out if that's what interests you and stick around till the end of the video where I'm actually going to be telling you how you can learn all these Ed edting Styles in over 200 detailed courses but now that we understand the four stages of YouTube editing let's see how we can exactly apply these into our YouTube video for this I'm going to be taking this one minute sample of a video and editing it we'll try to aim for a stage 4 edit which is what the majority of you guys will like so let's get started on this before I even get into the editing side of things I first want to paste things properly you must know how to paste a video well because this is going to be the main driver of our viewer engagement the scale of bacing kind of looks like this too fast and the video is entertaining but un educational too slow and the video is boring but educational you want to aim for a solid in between which is why I leave a small bit of space between my cuts not too big and not too small now let's actually get into the editing when editing a video it is always the same concept just watch the video and figure out how you could show the viewer what the Creator is talking about and you can either show it with images video or animations so check this out I know I was going to be using animations to show what he's talking about so I first got started on creating a background a lot of people think this is hard to do but it's just the right things or overlay I started with this grayish background then added this grid on top then an HD display overlay and a bit of blur on the edges and that's it now I can use this as a background for our animations and the goal here is to just find out what he is saying and try and show it as an animation so take a look at this so in the last 36 hours alone so the last 2 and a half days so I first add this circle graphic preset and change its color to purple then I added a text preset and write out 36 hours and change its color to purple too then to go with this business editing style I create a smooth pop-up animation using the transform tool and opacity this is what you're going to get and then I add in an hourglass icon to the center of the circle then just animate the little spin then add in some opacity fading in then to show the 2. 5 days I decrease the size of this whole animation and add this line and add this rectangle graphic effect thing then copied my previous text style and wrote out 2.
5 days and change its color there you go now if you're wondering where you can get the presets or plugins that I'm using for this edit it's usually one of three things it's either my own anim preset pack which you can find on my schoool community or it's Premier composer or motion World which are both completely for free but now that you understand how we do this whole thing let's go a bit faster and edit this whole video back on our timeline we now need to watch through the video and once again understand what he's saying I have pulled in 11,000 Us in Revenue with around 97% of that just being sheer profit to show $11,000 I import this text preset and write out 11,000 then again with that rectangle graphic effect thing and now he mentions 97% of that being profit it so I add this line animation and change it to Red then add another one on top of it and change it to Yellow then I just made the yellow one shorter so that it looks like this I wrote out profit and then he mentions the source of this being his two online products from two of my digital programs so I made the animation smaller added this line and then this line then added this icon and made it Glow nested the whole thing then added some camera animations and you're good to go then in this last section he mentions this I've closed three new clients at 3. 5k each so I added a person icon animated did it popping out then wrote out 3. 5k and lastly just duplicated the whole thing three times and that's our first 30 seconds notice how everything that he's saying is now making a lot more sense just because you could see it as a viewer now once again I'll show you guys how you can learn to edit like this at the end of the video but now let's finish up the rest of this video I added a little zoom in animation in this clip here then a little animation with the 97% but quickly moved on to the important section first of all you need to use what I like to call the reverse mirror technique in this section he explains the reverse mirror technique which means I'm going to need to animate a lot to actually explain this concept so I start off by writing the reverse mirror technique and then I add a line under it to highlight it the reverse Mirror Technique is basically where you look then to showcase the mirror effect I added in this vertical line then added in this mirror icon and then I first animated a small Twist from the left to the right and then added a movement from left to right and lastly I added a glow to it and duplicated it so that I now have two mirrors animated like so to finish it off I colored one of the mirrors yellow and masked it behind the line so that changes color as I cross the line this is what we end up with what I like to call the reverse Mirror Technique now let's do this big section about what 99% of the population are doing like what are their spending habits like what are their like everyday habits like what is their routine like I first add in a crowd icon add a glow duplicate it change the color to yellow and animate a mask going across it then he mentions three things spending habits and routines so to Showcase spending I use the money icon to Showcase habits I use this icon and to showcase routines I used a calendar icon and to polish everything up I simply put them in a line like so and then just animated them so that each icon shows as the Creator says its name then I added this mask on top with all this done this is what our timeline looks like and this is the kind of editing that keeps our viewers engaged and explains everything clearly now here's the thing if you made it this far then you're very interested in building a career like mine on YouTube but as you saw today to build a solid career and succeed on YouTube you need
