[Music] John 10:10 says the thief does not come except to steal and to kill and to destroy I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly in the years that God has blessed me with here on this Earth I've seen far too many Christian men and women who have been robbed of their Joy by the devil people who have had their Faith destroyed by the enemy and I get it there are things in life that happen and those things can leave us wounded there are things in life that

happen and leave us disappointed and leave us hurt however the thing is you and I need to be mindful about our reactions to the challenges and disappointments in life because troubles can do one of two things troubles can either push you to run into the Loving Arms of Jesus Christ or you can end up letting that disappointment fester and build in your heart and the enemy will use that discouragement to pull you away from the Lord Isaiah 40:31 says but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength they will soar on wings like

eagles they will will run and not grow weary they will walk and not be faint when you hope in the Lord you will gain new Strength he has a way of renewing your energy and it allows you to get back up after any disappointment now the devil doesn't want that the devil does not want to face a renewed empowered re-energized version of you no he wants the discouraged version of you so people of God if you need some encouragement today I want to tell you to wait on the Lord that means keep trusting in Him

continue to have faith in Jesus Keep Believing in the promises that are found in the word of God be encouraged because Romans 8:31 it says What then shall we say in response to these things if God is for us who can be against us Romans 8:37 says no in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us saints of God we've not been given a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind so it's time to know who you are and whose you are it's time

to recognize that trials and troubles they should make you run to Jesus Christ that pain it should make you run to the Lord the disappointments they should push you towards the Lord because it's only in Jesus Christ that we have hope it's only in Jesus Christ that we can have our strength renewed after we we've been knocked back by life it's only in the Lord that we have a Healer for every wound that's inflicted on us as a result of this life I want to turn your attention to Psalm 42 the psalmist here expresses a

range of emotions including discouragement but I want you to listen and learn how the psalmist responds to being discouraged the Bible reads As the deer Longs for streams of water so I long for you oh God I thirst for God the Living God when can I go and stand before him day and night I have only tears for food while my enemies continually taunt me saying where is this God of yours my heart is breaking as I remember how it used to be I walked among the crowds of worshippers leading a great procession to the

house of God singing for joy and giving thanks amid the sounds of a great celebration why am I discouraged why is my heart so sad I will put my hope in God I will praise him again my savior and my God now I am deeply discouraged but I will remember you even from distant Mount Herman the source of the Jordan from the land of Mount misar I hear the tumult of the Raging Seas as your waves and surging Tides sweep over me but each day the Lord pours his unfailing love upon me and through each

night I sing his songs praying to God who gives life oh God my rock I cry why have you forgotten me why must I wander around in grief oppressed by my enemies their taunts break my bones they scoff where is this God of yours why am I discouraged why is my heart so sad I will put my hope in God I will praise him again my savior and my God and so dear friend you may be discouraged or maybe you're sad today but I want to tell you to put your hope in God and just

praise him again discouraged you may be but there is something about praising God that will lift your spirit praise may not immediately change your circumstances but it will almost certainly change your perspective I may not know your struggle I may be unable to understand your pain but I want to tell you that there is a savior in Jesus Christ and he knows and understands exactly what you're going through he's a savior who says cast your burdens on me he's a savior who says come to me all you who labor and are heavy laden and I

will give you rest don't be discouraged Saints trust in the Lord trust in him to give you the strength to keep going and the strength to keep fighting now let's say a word of prayer together Lord Jesus you are great and you are Mighty God I thank you for being a wonderful God I thank you for being a saving God Lord I Thank thank you for your word because in your word I find reassurance when life comes at me and tries to knock me down and and it tries to land blows that will knock me

off my feet even if I feel like I'm knocked off my feet God I can land on your word I can know that you have me God I can know that I don't have to walk in discouragement and so God I pray right now that in this moment you would renew my strength God when life disappoints me renew my strength when life hurts me heal me and renew my strength Lord I declare that the joy of the Lord it is my strength and God I pray that you would fill my heart with joy that comes

only from you a lasting Joy an unspeakable joy a joy that sees your goodness despite whatever I'm going through despite the environment that I'm in I pray for that type of joy that sees your faithfulness even when I don't have everything I want Psalm 42:5 says why are you in despair oh my soul and why have have you become restless and Disturbed within me hope in God and wait expectantly for him for I shall again praise him for the help of his presence right now I Praise You King Jesus because you are my rescue my

soul is not in despair because I have you King Jesus and it is well with me it is well with me because of you my lord father your word warns me that the Devil Comes only to steal kill and destroy however I plead the blood of Jesus Christ over my life the devil will not steal my joy the devil will not destroy my peace of mind in the name of Jesus protect me Father help me to be of good cheer even when I'm in the middle of a fiery trial help me not to walk around

discouraged in this life lift my burdens not only let me have joy but let me bring joy to others God I pray that the Eyes of My Heart may be enlightened so that I can see the treasure that I have in you enlighten me Lord so that I can see my true identity in you and in your word I'm a New Creation in you Lord I've been redeemed through the blood of Jesus Christ Lord help me to hold on to Proverbs 18:10 which says the name of the Lord is a strong tower the righteous man

runs into it and is safe help me to hold on to Psalm 32:7 which says you are a hiding place for me you preserve me from trouble you surround me with shouts of Deliverance the promises in your word offer me strength when I'm weak your promises encourage me to live fearlessly knowing that I'm protected God knowing that I have a strong tower in Jesus Christ knowing that you're my Hiding Place and so Lord no matter what I encounter I will keep standing and I'll keep standing in faith I'll keep standing and believing on your word

your word tells me that nothing can separate me from your love not tribulation not distress not persecution God your love for me knows no bounds and for that I'm grateful God I thank you for loving me the way that you do God I thank you for hearing my prayer and I thank you that it is well with me it Is Well with My Soul it's in the mighty name of Jesus Christ that I pray this prayer and I thank you Lord amen the thief does not come except to steal and to kill and to destroy
