Romans 9 we're going to read the first five verses and we're going to set it up I am speaking the truth in Christ in other words Christ is going to Bear witness and hold me accountable that what I'm about to tell you is the truth because if I'm lying the Lord will expose me I'm not lying my conscience Bears me witness in the Holy Spirit even the holy spirit will bear witness and confirm if I'm lying to you or not because we're going to all stand before Jud judgment judgment seat of Christ that I have
great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart my heart is broken I'm depressed why for I could wish that I myself were a cursed antha and cut off from Christ for the sake of my brethren my Kinsmen by race okay now we got a problem here Houston we got a problem let's park it there for a minute everyone got this understand what this means if Five Points of Calvinism is true and Hyper Calvinism High Calvinism is true the Calvinism of Jamal Muhammad white God does not love everyone and Christ did not come to Die to
Save the non-elect Jesus only loves and saves the elect and I'm talking about love that is salvific salvific love I'm not talking about the common Grace that Calvinists talk about that God's salvific love that God loves only the elect salvific leaving others in their futility without hope of Salvation And yet Paul says if I could go to hell to save and restore all of Israel I would are you telling me that Paul loves people more than his God from Calvinism yes exactly an imperfect finite fallible sinful creature loves creatures more than God well say well
God is Holy yeah but he's also infinitely loving so if God can love some Sinners why can't he love all Sinners salvific so we got a problem right there okay but let's continue now he's going to recount the favors and blessing that God gave to Israel the favors and blessing that God gave to Israel he gave them blessings that he gave to No Other Nation what are they Romans 9:45 they are Israelites these are my Kinsmen to them belong the sunship now what does that mean the first nation that God adopted to be his son
Sons and Daughters is Israel so this why you got know the Old Testament to understand Romans 9 he's referring to Exodus 42223 dony 14 ver1 where God says Israel is my firstborn son so they were privileged to be the first nation on Earth that God fashion and formed to be his sons and daughters Covenant he didn't give his honor to any other Nation so count the blessings that God gave Israel count guys the blessings that God gave to Israel that he gave to No Other Nation look to them was the sunship The Glory now what
does it mean the glory if you read now guys just remember these passages we can't go through all of them their God manifested his glory visibly when it says to them belong the glory the glory means when God appeared visibly in a pillar of by day and a pillar Fire by night in full view of Israel in Egypt they saw God's glory and then they saw the glory descend on the mount and fill the Tabernacle God had not done this for any other Nation prior to Israel everyone got it so far the blessings so theirs
was the glory meaning of all Nations they were allowed to see as a nation the glory of God God appearing visibly when he appeared in a pillar of cloud by day pillar of Fire by Night the pillar of cloud that they saw and the pillar of Fire by night that lightened their path and the Audible Voice they heard and the cloud coming down that was the glory it says and God filled the Tabernacle with his glory when he filled the Tabernacle with the pillar of the cloud did he do that for any other Nation up
until that time no all right what else were they given that no other nation was given the Covenants that's where you come with the davidic Covenant and the abrahamic Covenant and the Mosaic Covenant and the New Covenant who was given all these covenants Israel abrahamic Covenant Mosaic Covenant right devic Covenant right yes the Priestly Covenant the New Covenant given only to this nation right yes what else was given them the law did any other Nation have the law written on tablets of stone by the Finger of God Exodus 31:18 Deuteronomy 9:10 no the worship what's
the worship the temple service that God choose any other Nation to erect the temple for him manifest his presence in a unique manner where they would now officiate before God and you knew that God was in that Temple you can visit him in the temple that's what worship means it means Priestly lurgical Temple worship no all right what else were they given it says what else they were given the promises what promises that God would redeem them and through them the World by the Savior and who belongs to them the Patriarchs Abraham Isaac and Jacob
but then Paul mentions the greatest blessing last what is the greatest blessing God gave the nation to them belong the Patriarchs and of their race according to the flesh is the Christ who is God overall blessed forever the greatest gift privilege blessing that God gave Israel that he gave to another Nation God became a physical Flesh and Blood Jew the almighty Creator who's praised by All Forever became a physical Israelite a physical Jew something God didn't do for any other Nation D Paul says look at all the blessings so then how the hell did they
end up being rejected from being God's covenant people see this is the mystery he's about to unpack this is what Romans 9 is all about wait all these blessings and the greatest blessing Beyond Comprehension something unimaginable the almighty God the creator of Heaven and Earth the creator of all Nations whom All Nations must worship humbl himself to become a man a physical man a flesh and blood man but he chose to become a Jew an Israelite he didn't become Assyrian he didn't become Babylonian he didn't become African he didn't become Hispanic he became a physical
Jew what more blessing could you ask for Israel okay so now he begins his discussion are we ready now for the discussion yes Romans 9 6 all the way to 13 but it is not as though the word of God had failed right because he's wondering okay wait when God promised to save the nation and he would save them through Messiah but now he's rejected the nation does that mean God's word failed no he didn't fail you know why here's where people are going to get upset this is where they demonized his position replacement theology
you're antiemetic because Paul says at the end of the day a true Jew a true Israelite is one who by faith is United to the Jew of all Jews Jesus Christ so God did not fail Israel failed by disbelieving so not every Israelite is really an Israelite the only true Israelites are those who believe in Jesus Christ because Jesus is the Jew of all Jews and he makes to a true Israelite and Paul already prepared you for this in Romans 2 what do I mean here see Paul brilliant filled with his holy spirit is systematically
setting up his case Romans 2:26 to 29 here oh here he already prepared you for this so that when you get to Romans nine you're prepared here let me prove it to you so if a man who is uncircumcised keeps the precepts of the law will not as uncircumcision be regarded is circumcision so he's saying you Jew you boast that you're physically circumcised but you break the law of what advantage is that to you here you have Gentiles who are not circumcised they keep the law are you telling me that God won't bless them and
honor them above you see that's what Paul is saying now watch here then those who are physically uncircumcised but keep the law will condemn you have the written code and circumcision but break the law for he is not a real Jew who is one outwardly this is Paul's point in Romans N9 no God didn't fail Israel failed by their disbelieve because if they believe they would have obtained true israelitish or Israeli ISM they would have been true Israelites for he's not a real Jew who is one outwardly nor is true circumcision something external and physical
he is a Jew who is one inwardly and real circumcision is a matter of the heart spiritual not literal his praise is not from men but from God he already prepared you not all Israelites are Israelites so God did not fail to save the nation and the nation was rejected because of unbelief but anyone who believes they become the true Israel so all of Israel shall be saved because the true Israel is the one who believes in Christ so now now he's preparing you for that Romans 9 right but it is not as though the
word of God had failed for not all who are descended from Israel belong to Israel see he already prepared you for this so God has not failed to save Israel because true Israel in his sight are those who believe and not all are children of Abraham because there are his descendants but through Isaac shall your descendants be named now I'm gonna unpack this guys this means that it is not the children of the flesh who are the children of God but the children of the promise are reconized descendants now here's where you're going to destroy
Calvinism how do you become a child of Promise it's not through un unilateral predestination it's through faith okay now let me prove it to you here Galatians 32629 how do you obtain the promises here you go for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God through faith for as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ there's neither Jew nor Greek there's neither slave nor free there's neither male nor female for you are all one in Christ Jesus and if you are Christ then you are Abraham's offspring hirs according to
the promise there you go how do I receive the promise through faith in Jesus Christ my Lord and being baptized into him then I am one with him in the spirit and I become a true descant of Abraham the promise are given to those who believe not those predestined so who are the Israelites the children of Promise how do you become a child of Promise through faith and God can bring about the promises through any nation that he chooses to work through this is the point of Paul are we ready how did God bring about
the promises to save the world through Israel but now he's rejected Israel so how will he save the world through the Nations that are now part of the church and that's the theme of Romans 9 let me explain the theme of Romans N9 the theme of Romans n is this is that up until Israel's rejection of the Messiah the promises of God to save you came through Israel that was the nation that he worked through to bring about the message for the Nations to believe and inherit the promises but now he's rejected that Nation so
how will those promises be obtained through his Covenant people the church it's now the church that becomes the light of Salvation the salt of the earth and through the church made made up of the Nations the promises are proclaimed and are received by faith that's the point of Romans nine and I'll prove it to you I just got to unpack it now let me prove that to you ready for this is what the promise said about this time I'll return and Sarah shall have a son through that son will come the blessings upon All Nations
but which son Ishmael no through Sarah now let's unpack it guys so the promises to bless the Nations to bless the families of the Earth come through who Abraham but he had many sons which of the sons Isaac but Isaac had twins which of the twins Jacob and through that Nation God would bring all other nations to saving Faith that's what he's saying here I'm gonna prove it to you now watch let's continue and not only so but also when Rebecca had conceived children by one man our forefather Isaac though they were not yet born
and had done nothing either good or bad in order that God's promise of election might continue not because of works but because of his call she was told the Elder will serve the younger as it is written Jacob I love but Esau I hat it man when I was a calvinist I said see God has already predestined who will go to hell in heaven not based on your faith and good works but see Paul knows the Old Testament like the back of his hand now let me show you what it means when we look at
the passages themselves the children struggled together within her and she said if it is thus why do I live watch here watch here here guys so she went to inquire of the Lord yahwah and the Lord said to two nations are in your womb and two peop born of you shall be divided the one shall be stronger than the other the Elder Shall Serve the younger when are days to be delivered were fulfilled behold there were twins in her womb the first came forth red all his body like a hairy mantle so they called his
name Esau afterward his brother came forth and his hand had taken hold of Esau's so his name was called Jacob Isaac was 6 years old when she bore him so the context is not about salvation the context is which nation will God set apart and exalt to be his Nation to work through Jacob's descendants not Esau it had nothing to do with salvation how do I know because even the nation of Israel not every Israelite was saved so it cannot be talking about setting apart people for eternal life so what's the point of Paul God
chose Jacob's descendants to work through Covenant to bring about the blessing of Salvation upon the world and the passages that Paul is quoting about Nations not individuals destined for salvation the individuals represent Nations isn't that what Paul said you have two nations in your womb everyone got it now what about Malachi 13 is this again about individuals destined to Salvation no it's about Nations that God prefers one over the other in order to work through one nation to save the other the Oracle of the word of the Lord to Israel by Malachi Israel preferred to
Edom that's the subheading I have loved you says the Lord yahwah but you say how hast thou loved us is not Esau Jacob's brother yeah says the Lord yahwah yet I love Jacob but I have hated Esau I have laid waste his Hill Country and left his Heritage to Jackal of the desert again it's about the Nations and their places did I not love Jacob which is why I've chosen you and I hated Esau which is why I will destroy his habitations so it's not talking about individuals destined to Salvation it's talking about Nations set
apart for the COV blessings of God I chose Jacob's descendants to be my people on Earth to work through that's why I will punish Esau's descendants for attacking you want to destroy you that's the entire theme of Malachi how the [ __ ] rejoice in destruction of Israel and how God will now punish the [ __ ] and fight for Israel his Covenant people because he chose Jacob's descendants to be his Covenant people over against Esau's descendants everyone get it before on because I'm going to show you that even when he says Esau I hated
it doesn't mean he didn't love Esau when God speaks of loving one hating the other it means preferring one over the other Luke 14 2627 if anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father mother and wife and children brothers sisters he yes and even life cannot be my disciple do you take it literally Jesus literally wants you to hate your parents no and I'll tell you if you took it literally you'd be stupid you know why CU we have a parallel here's the parallel Matthew 10 37-39 what does it mean to hate
your parents your children and your spouses here the parallel Matthew 10 37-39 he who loves father or mother more than me light switch go on what does he mean hate father and mother loving them more than him do not love them more than me you have to love me so much that your love for them would look like hate in comparison he who loves father mother more than me is not worthy of me he who loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me and he who does not take his cross and
follow me is not worthy of me he who finds his life will lose it and he who loses his life for my sake will find it but wait Jes Jesus just said here if anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children brothers and sisters yes and even his own life he cannot be my disciple whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple so what does it mean when Jesus says hate your parents your spouses your children do not love them
more than me love me more than yourself your own life your children your spouses your parents so that your love for me in comparison for your love for them will make your love for them look like hate in comparison oh but wait I got another one I'm giving you Bible right Deuteronomy 21: 15- 17 watch here if a man has have two wives one beloved and another hated There It Is Love and Hate and they have borne him children both the Beloved and the hated and if the firstborn son be hers that was hated then
it shall be when he maketh his son to inherit that which he ha that he may not make the son of the Beloved firstborn before the son of the hated which is indeed the firstborn but he shall acknowledge the son of the hated for the firstborn by giving him a double portion of the of all that he had for he is the beginning of his strength the right of the firstborn is his did you understand what he just said a man has two wives he loves one he hates the other what he hates gives birth
to the firstborn you better honor the firstborn by making him the heir even though he was born from the wife you hate not only someone stupid some ignoramus idiot would think that the man literally hates the wife because if he literally hate her he would divorce her and get rid of her right he wouldn't Reep her and have children with her so what does it mean the one he loves and the one he hates the one he prefers and loves more than the other and you know what perfect illustration you have for this command Jacob
where he married two sisters Leon Rachel where he loved Rachel more than Leah so that Leah said God opened my womb to have the firstborn because God saw that Jacob hated me well he literally didn't hate her but now let me show you God loved Esau God loved Esau and fought for Esau and his descendants are you ready Deuteronomy 2: 48 God saying to Moses to tell Israel and command the people you are about to pass through the territory of your brethren the sons of Esau who live in sier and they'll be afraid of you
so take good heed watch look God showing love to Esau do not contend with them for I will not give you any of their land no not so much as for the soul of the foot To Tread on because I have given Mount s to Esau as a possession wait wait wait wait wait whoa who God fought for Esau and his descendants too and God gave Esau a land for his descendants to possess and he's warning the Israelites you try to take the land I'll punish you because I gave it to Esau if that's not
God showing love to Esau I don't know what it what is did you see what God told Israel you better not try to take any part of their land I gave it to Esau as a possession why is he fighting for Esau protecting Esau and giving Esau's descendants a land and warning even his Covenant people don't mess with them because I'm going to punish you so what does it mean now that he hated Esau did we not see proof God loved Esau God loved his descendants fought for them and gave them a possession the same
way he fought for Israel yes so what does it mean that he hated Esau he loved him less than he did Jacob or you can say preferred Jacob over him right yes just like Jacob loved Leah and Rachel but he preferred to love Rachel more and God said no it ain't gonna happen so do we get that yes all right Romans 913 to 33 but we're going to break it down Romans 91318 okay what shall we say then is there Injustice on God's part so now Paul is assuming and anticipating objections this is the impression
you get if you don't read Romans 9 in its own context and the context of 1011 because Paul is a master spiritual chess player he knows that if he says this then they may say this so he's anticipating the objections and correcting the misunderstanding so he's anticipating this objection well hold on then is God unjust because it seems like God is choosing some to save and then passing over others because he can do so by no means see he's saying no guys right there that should have been a clue a hint for calvinist they're misreading
it no I'm not trying to suggest God as unjust because you're not hearing me out he's already anticipating an objection because Paul in his ministry would have confronted people who raised these objections so he's already anticipating I know they're going to say this so now let me already anticipate their objection and refute it by no means now watch here for he says to Moses I will have mercy on whom I have mercy and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion so it depends not upon man's will or exertion but upon God's mercy right
so it has nothing to do with your Works your efforts moving God to Desiring to save you now let me break this down everyone agrees there is no Christian denomination whether Protestant denominations Catholics Orthodox to deny this let me explain what he's saying no one who knows their faith there is no Catholic Orthodox that would deny this you are saved because of the grace and mercy of God God did not decide to save mankind on the merits or the righteousness of any man why because Paul's point is you cannot move God and make God to
save you because you can't ever be that good and righteous enough to Merit as an obligation from God to save you you understand what he's saying so then why is anyone saved because God is a God full of love compassion and mercy he desires no creature to perish but all to be saved so it was the mercy and compassion of God that moved God to want to save anyone that's Paul's point now this is misread by calvinist to say see God is free to show Mercy to whom he wants and compassion to whom he wants
and we withhold it from humanss and in one sense that's true it is true God can show Mercy to everyone God can show Mercy to no one God can show Mercy to some the calvinist argue God has chosen to show Mercy to some not all to some others he's chosen to reprobate them to destroy them like Pharaoh this is the misreading of this passage look what he says for the scripture says to Pharaoh I have raised you up for the very purpose of showing my power in you so that my name may be proclaimed in
all the Earth see they go see Pharaoh was an example of a person that God didn't show mercy and compassion to but use Pharaoh as a vessel of Wrath to then display his power in destroying him for the vessels of Mercy to show the vessels of Mercy how much he loves them what a distortion of the text but I'm going to get there so then he has mercy upon whomever he wills and he hardens the heart of whomever he Wills aha that's it okay now is this saying God has already destined beforehand whom he will
harden and refrain from showing mercy and whom he will show Mercy to double predestin Nation no now I'm going to show you what happens if you don't read Romans 9 in its context because Paul goes on to say in verses 10 to 11 that God desires to show Mercy to everyone so why does he Harden someone like Pharaoh because God in his forn knowledge already knows that Pharaoh will not repent and Pharaoh will not believe so then God will hand Pharaoh over to desires of his heart in order to use pharaoh ph's disbelief and Pharaoh's
oppression for God to display his power in order to convince pharaoh and the Egyptians he truly is god with the hopes of using those signs to move them to repentance are you with me there y let me show you what Paul is saying the reason why God hardened Pharaoh's heart and I'm going to show you what that means in Scripture it God already knows and already knew no matter how many signs Pharaoh sees he will not submit so God could have wiped him out from day one but instead of wiping him out from day one
he allowed him to continue existing and opposing him because with each rejection of God's sign that God gave more opportunities to show how real he is not just to the Israelites but to the Egyptians because God's desire was to use Pharaoh's unbelief not an unbelief that he was destined right to to possess but an unbelief because no matter what he would not repent so God use that to then display his signs and wonders and the 10 signs in order to prove Beyond any reasonal doubt both to the Israelites and Egyptians I am God and your
gods are not God turn to me and know me and be saved I'm going to show you that does Paul think that God only shows Mercy to the elect and not to everyone well here you go Romans 11: 30-32 just as you were once Disobedience talking to the Gentiles you at one time were disobedient to God but now have received Mercy because of their Disobedience because the Jews disobeyed now God is showing you mercy so they have now become disobedient in order that by the mercy shown to you they also may receive Mercy see it
is right there for God has consigned all men to Disobedience that he may have mercy upon all see I wasn't lying did you hear what he said God has consigned has handed over people to Disobedience because he wants to show Mercy to everyone who's disobedient is there anyone who hasn't disobeyed no that means if everyone has disobeyed God now wants everyone who's disobedient to be shown mercy so if everyone is disobedient does that mean God wants to limit his Mercy or extend his Mercy to everyone extend it to everyone wow but I thought God will
show Mercy to whom he wants to show mercy and show compassion to him he wants to show compassion just like with Pharaoh he didn't show him mercy and compassion no he was just trying to bring the Egyptians and other nations to so he could show them Mercy I don't want to prove it to you now let me prove to you the reason why people are hardened and reprobated or cut off it's not because God predestin them it's because of their disbelief let me prove that to you from Romans 11 you will say branches were broken
up that's the Israelites so I might be grafted in that is true they were broken off because of their unbelief but you stand fast only through faith Romans 11:1 19-22 so now before I move on to Romans 9 did you understand if I read Romans 9 light of Romans 11 what we just learned was this God who shows Mercy to whom he wants to show Mercy is the same God who says I want to show Mercy to everyone I want to show compassion to everyone so no one denies God is free to be merciful to
whom he wants but the Bible says that God who's free to dispense his mercy and compassion he has chosen to to show mercy and compassion to everyone who's disobedient this is not Calvinism further proof because I'm going to come back to Pharaoh as an example this is what Paul meant let's read the end of chapter nine how does Paul conclude that chapter Paul how do people become vessels of Wrath were they predestined and how do they become vessels of Mercy were they predestined watch what shall we say then then Gentiles who did not pursue righteousness
have attained it that is righteousness through faith how did they become righteous because they believe but that Israel who pursued the righteousness which is based on the law did not succeed in fulfilling that law why why didn't they fulfill the law because they did not pursue it through faith but as it were based on Works they thought that it's obedience to the Torah that would make him just before God not faith in Jesus whom they rejected they have stumbled Over The Stumbling Stone as it is written behold I'm laying in design a stone that will
make men stumble a rock that will make them fall and he who believes in him will not be put to shame now I don't know how clear it could get that even in Romans n Paul was not teaching God already predestined some for Destruction and others for Mercy unilaterally when Paul's point is you're a vessel of Wrath because of your unbelief and persistent rebellion and oppression of the truth or you'll be shown Mercy when you accept the gift of Salvation through faith it's right there so if we got that let's go back to the case
of pharaoh ah all right here you go let's use pharaoh to prove my case one more time what shall we say then is there Injustice on God's part by no means for he says to Moses I will have mercy on whom I have mercy and I'll have compassion on whom I have compassion so depends not upon man's will or exertion but upon God's mercy for the scripture says to Pharaoh I have raised you up for the very purpose of showing my power in you so that my name may be proclaimed in all the Earth he's
quoting Exodus 9:16 so why am I raising you up why haven't I wiped you out already because you are the world Empire you are the king of the world Empire because Egypt was the superpower and when I display my power my signs and wonders against you and you crumble before me that will be the proof for the Nations that I am the true God there is no other so that through those signs they will then be moved to turn to me and be saved because I want to save all of them did you know that's
the point this is what he just says right here even the passage that Paul quoted look Romans 9 17 is goinging Exodus 9:16 and I'm going to go back into context and show you for the scripture says to I have raised you up for the very purpose of showing my power in you so that my name may be proclaimed in all the Earth so here you see the heart of God Pharaoh I know you won't turn I know you will object and deny and oppress and therefore I would be just in wiping you out for
your sin but I'm going to tolerate you and endure your disbelief because with every sign I unleash on you I will then Proclaim to the Nations through you as you resist and I humble you that I am God so they can know I am God so they can turn to me and obtain Mercy that's what he's doing that's the point of the passage can I now prove that from Exodus here it is this is where Paul was quoting from Exodus 9 13-6 then the Lord yahwah said to Moses rise up early in the morning and
stand before pharaoh and say to him thus says the Lord yahwah the god of the Hebrews let my people go that they may serve me for this time I will send all my plagues upon your heart and upon your servants and your people that you may know there's that word again no pay attention this word no is going to come up often because I'm going to show you why God is doing this because he wants everyone to know him and what is eternal life that they may know the only true God and Jesus Christ whom
he sent so why is God doing this so that you pharaoh and the Egyptians may know I am God and with the hopes that when you come to know you'll believe and receive Mercy that you may know that there is none like me in all the Earth for by now I could have put forth my hand and struck you and your people I could have wiped you out because that's what you deserve and you'd have been cut off from the earth so why didn't you do it but for this purpose have I let you live
that's what Paul is saying though he deserved to die he endured him because through him he was going to give irrefutable proofs he is god with the hopes that the nations would see and believe and obtain Mercy that's Paul's message in Romans 9 but for this purpose have I let you live to show you my power so that my name may be declared throughout all the Earth so do you understand yeah I can't move on if you guys ain't getting it so what about God hardening Pharaoh's heart why because God's for knowledge is such that
God forn knows those who will not believe and receive and then can work through their unbelief for a greater good here it is 1 Samuel 66 why should you harden your hearts as the Egyptians and Pharaoh hardened their hearts so who actually hardened their hearts the Egyptians Pharaoh so why does God say I Harden their hearts because he takes responsibility for letting them handing them over to the desires of their heart right yes after he had made sport of them did not they let the people go and they departed so when it says he hardened
their hearts is because their hearts were already hardened so God in his Justice hands you over to the desires of your heart did you catch it 1 Samuel 66 yes God doesn't Harden hearts of those who want to believe he hardens the hearts of those who already Harden and resistant who will not believe no matter what God does and so in his Justice he hands them over to desires of their heart okay so you understand who hardened their hearts Pharaoh so when it says God Harden his heart that is the biblical way of saying God
in his Justice gives Pharaoh what he deserves what does he deserve he deserves to be handed over to his unbelief why because Pharaoh is already rebellious resistant and oppressive and God is aware no matter what sign Pharaoh sees he will not believe so God has one of two options destroy pharaoh on the spot or allow him to continue to reject God because with every opportunity that Pharaoh is given that gives God another opportunity to display his power providing irrefutable signs and wonders that he is God to get the attention of the Nations I alone am
God and I alone can save you and I want to save all of you and turn to me right but now let me blow you away even more do you know how God hardened Pharaoh's heart this is where you're gonna get blown away did you know how God hardened his heart by showing him Mercy when I realized that I was blown away don't take my word for it when God brought a plague Pharaoh rushed to Moses begging Moses to cry out to God to remove the plague and then he would let the people go with
conditions every time God removed the plague as an act of Mercy pharaoh and end up resisting God more isn't it ironic that it was in response to God's mercy that Pharaoh resisted God more not in light of God's plagues the plagues moved him to fake repentance but when God showed him Mercy he became more resistant and obstinate towards God I'm not lying to you read it when it says I will show Mercy unto whom I will show Mercy Pharaoh was Mercy Pharaoh received compassion Pharaoh was shown Mercy Pharaoh received compassion so God showed him fa
mercy and compassion and what was his response he hardened himself opposed God and resisted God to the point that even when he pursued them to the red sea sea of reeds he saw a pillar of cloud by day pillar fire and still when he saw the pillar he still pursued Israel nonetheless and didn't fear God and repent well what what about the rest of Romans 9 let's go there now let's finish it ready let's read now 19 all the way to 23 here's the rest of it you will say to me then why does he
still find fault for who can resist as well but who are you on man to answer back to God okay Paul is anticipating an objection by someone who's not understanding God's will how God works in creation through free agents through creatures to bring about his perfect will because he's going to explain himself in what follows afterwards so by the time he finishes his point this misunderstanding this objection not only demolished but the person raising objection will realize he didn't get it oh man I'm sorry I misunderstood the point Paul is warning you about the calvinist
misunderstanding of his statements and he's telling you beforehand don't buy into it because that's not what I'm saying it's the opposite Paul is warning you about someone who argues like a calvinist he's telling you this is a Mis understanding of my point because when I now clarify my point you cannot accuse God of unjustice or you cannot blame God for your sins because that's not what I'm saying because when he clarifies it you're going to see what he's saying where but who are you oh man to answer back to God because here's the key will
what is molded say to its molder why have you made me and has the Potter all right over the clay to make out of the same lump one vessel for beauty and another for menial use pay attention you just read it here you get Calvinism no Paul's point is God can you clay and fashion you in such a way to bring about his perfect will his desire is to Fashion you for Glory but if you Rebel and resist and do not submit then he's going to take you and fashion you for destruction in other words
God fashioning you is based on your response to him that's what Paul is saying watch I'm going to prove it to you so you don't think I'm lying what if God Desiring to show his wrath to make known his power has endured with much patience the vessels of Wrath like he endured Pharaoh right yes and he endured pharaoh who was a vessel of Wrath but was he destined to be a vessel of Wrath or did he end up becoming a vessel for Destruction because no matter what God does he would not respond he ended up
becoming onea in order to make known The Riches of his glory for the vessels of Mercy which he has prepared beforehand for Glory so God has designed vessels for Glory but there are vessels of Wrath why are they vessels of Wrath because they Harden themselves against God so then God takes that clay reshapes it for judgment and will use that clay to then glorify himself in the eyes of those vessels of Mercy but how do they become vessels of Mercy by remaining in faith how do you end up becoming a vessel of Wrath by disobeying
isn't that the point of Romans chap 11 which we read earlier which he has prepared beforehand for Glory even us whom he has called not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles now let me prove to you that the clay imagery destroys Calvinism number one how do you make yourself a vessel of Mercy useful for the Lord same Paul by the way 2 Timothy 220 to 21 in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver but also wood and Earth and wear and some for Noble use some for ignorable
right so here vessels of Wrath and mercy well how do you make yourself a vessel of Mercy because you're predestin here is the answer Brethren listen if anyone purifies himself from what is ignoble then he will be a vessel for Noble use say what consecrated and useful to the master of the house ready for any good work whoa whoa wait wait wait it's not you were predestined before creation to be a vessel for Noble use it's if you turn to the Lord and trust in the Lord and obey the Lord you become a vessel for
Noble use could it be any clear brother no now let's go to Jeremiah for the Potter and Clay analogy are you ready let's see what the Potter and Clay analogy actually teach Jeremiah 187 to1 Jeremiah 18: 7-1 but I'm going to read verses 1- 12 for context the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord yahwah arise and go down to The Potter's House here it is the pot Potter and clay and there I will let you hear my words so I went down to the Potter now pay attention to the analogy Paul Knows His
Old Testament and he assumes you know the Old Testament so you don't misunderstand him I went down to The Potter's House and there he was working at his wheel and the vessel he was making of clay was spoiled in The Potter's hand now let me ask you a question when the Potter was fashioning the Clay did he want it to spoil no you sure right yeah on context no because he reworked it because God is saying you're the clay I wanted to Fashion you but you became spoiled in my hands not because I designed you
for that but because of your evil this is the analogy there is no Potter that wants to spoil the clay if the Potter is fashioning clay and it's looking good the last thing he wants to do is spoil it understand the the analogy yes okay and he reworked it into another vessel as seemed good to the Potter to do now watch the context then the word of the Lord yah came to me oh House of Israel Israel can I not do with you as this Potter has done says the Lord yahwah behold like the clay
in The Potter's hand so are you in my hand oh House of Israel if at any time I declare concerning a nation or a kingdom that I will pluck up and break down and destroy it and if that Nation concerning which I have spoken turns from its evil I will repent of the evil that I intended to do to it bam you just buried Calvinism look what he just said if there's a nation that is evil and I have decreed destruction meaning it's Clay that I will destroy but if it turns then I will refrain
from destroying it and then I will fashion it into a vessel of Glory okay now let's continue and if at any time I declare concerning a nation or Kingdom that I will build and plant it and if it does evil in my sight not listening to my voice then I'll repent of the good which I intended to do to it did you see what the pot and Clay analogy is all about so I have decree America will be a great nation because it fears me so America's claim my hand and I'm fashioning it for Glory
but now it's turned away from me it hates me and hates my word and opposes me and persecutes those who love me now I'm going to reshaping it and make it a vessel of Destruction though I was fashioning it for Glory and prosperity because of their evil I will now refashion reshaping it to be a vessel of Wrath now therefore say to the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem thus says the Lord yahwah behold I am shaping see the pun shaping clay I'm shaping evil against you I am forming the destruction on your
nation allowing the Babylonians to come and destroy you because of your sin but like the clay if you turn I will reshaping you refashion you for salvation and prosperity if you turn evil against you and devising plan against you return everyone from his evil way and amend your ways and your doings but they say that is in vain man we're wasting our time it's too late we will follow our own plans and we everyone act according to the subance of his evil heart where the hell do you get Calvinism from the pter clay analogy when
you read it in isolation in Romans n
