back in the year 740 ad a powerful sorcerer named Merlin selects three young Sorcerers Balthazar Veronica and Horvath as his apprentices after years of training them Horvath eventually betrays Merlin and teams up with an evil sorceress named Morana Merlin's most deadly enemy who plans to take control of the world one day during the attack on Merlin's Castle Horvath helps Morgana restrain Merlin before she stabs him as he slowly dies Morana immediately instructs Horvath to steal a page from Merlin's spell book which contains a dangerous spell that gives the power to raise an army of the

Dead to help enslave mankind after he tears the page and escapes Bazar enters the room and tries to stop Morana but she's too powerful for him as she's about to kill him Veronica attacks Morgana and slowly absorbs the evil woman's Soul into her own body because it's the only way to keep her restrained unfortunately Morana tries to kill Veronica from within and Balthazar notices it instead of letting this happen he decides to help Veronica by trapping her body and morgana's soul inside a magical prison called the grimhold in the grimhold as he wonders what to

do next a dying Merlin gives balazar his dragon ring and tells him to use it to find a sorcerer called the prime merlinian because he's the only one who can defeat Morana and stop stop her evil plans Merlin dies after this and balazar begins searching for the prime merlinian during his quest he encounters some of morgana's disciples and successfully imprisons them in the layers of the grimhold Horvath is also trapped after many years but Balthazar still doesn't manage to find the special sorcerer Merlin talked about prime Millennial is the only one many years later in

2000 A Boy Named Dave leaves home and joins his classmates for a school trip inside the bus Dave draws on the window and this gets the attention of his school Crush Becky she seems to like it that's cool and Dave is incredibly happy about this after they reach their destination Dave can't stop staring at Becky and he eventually sends her a note asking if she'll either be his friend or girlfriend Becky is surprised by this but she still ticks her answer and leaves the note for Dave to pick it up himself as he goes to

get it though the note flies away way and Dave has to run after it interestingly the note keeps evading Dave until it enters an old antique store as he enters he sees several old artifacts including a small genie lamp Dave looks intrigued by it and since it looks like a magical lamp he decides to pick it up unfortunately he ends up scattering some things in the store before balazar shows up as the owner the second emperor of the Han Dynasty Dave immediately says sorry for what he has done and he also mentions that he entered

the store to find a note I'm looking for this snow Bazar thinks it's a weird coincidence that Dave's note randomly entered his store so he tells the boy to wait while he goes to get something after he returns Bazar shows Dave Merlin's dragon ring and tells him to hold on to it Dave looks scared and says he needs to leave because his teacher doesn't want him wandering about Bazar still insists but as Dave heads out the sorcerer locks the door Dave finally decides to do what Bazar wants and as he holds on to the ring

the dragon figure comes alive and wraps itself around one of Dave's fingers Bazar is shocked by this and he tells Dave not to be bothered because the ring has chosen him he adds that the ring indicates that Dave will be an important sorcerer Dave still looks confused but Balthazar tells him to wait in the store while he goes to get the boy his special spell book as he's heading away he tells Dave not to touch anything and the boy says won't shortly after Dave suddenly notices that the ring is pulling his hand to break a

part of the wall as the Ring's special power eventually does this the Grim hold falls out of the wall and Dave holds it and looks closely at it interestingly he sees horvath's picture on it and as he wonders what he's looking at the Grim hold suddenly opens Dave throws it to the floor immediately and some cockroaches start coming out of it until they form up to become Horvath Dave is shocked by this but Horvath just asks what year they're currently in before Dave can respond balazar immediately attacks Horvath and seems pissed that the boy touched

something in his store despite his warning he however tells Dave to find somewhere to hide be quiet so he can take down Horvath as the two men fight an endless battle Dave finds a place to hide and eventually picks the grimhold so he can run away with it before he can leave Horvath quickly forms a ring of fire inside the store to stop Balthazar from coming close to him he then tells Dave to drop the Grim hold what but before the boy does this Balthazar attacks Horvath again as he keeps stopping Horvath from getting to

the boy Balthazar tells Dave to run away and as he does so a strange vase Falls and traps both men inside Dave gets outside the store and throws the Grim hold across the road as he sees his teacher complaining about how he ran off Dave tries to explain what happened inside the store but as his teacher enters to confirm his story everything seems normal she then scolds Dave for lying about what happened and his friends also laugh at him 10 years later Dave is already a university student who lives with a roommate named Bennett on

his birthday Bennett suggests happy birthday going out to have some fun but Dave says he needs to spend time on his coil project he adds that he currently has to give a presentation to the fresh physics student students in his Department after he leaves the room Dave heads to school and while he's preparing for his presentation his notes fly off the table it eventually lands in front of a girl and as he looks at her he realizes that it's Becky Becky Burns Dave looks really happy to see her and Becky also remembers him as the

boy who once ran off to an antique store during a school trip Dave tries to change the topic because he feels embarrassed but Becky still asks how things went for him after that day Dave then mentions that he eventually had to see a doctor who said he was likely hallucinating later that day after class Dave walks with Becky and asks if she's enjoying her physics classes Becky says it's not really her thing and that she's more into music she also stops in front of the College radio office and tells Dave that it's where she works

Dave looks surprised and asks what she does there and Becky says she has a show that not many people listen to Dave says he'll start listening to it but before she goes in the antenna at the top of the building devel a fault Becky quickly goes in to see what's happening and Dave follows her as he then hears that the antenna is not delivering the right frequency Dave offers to help Becky and her producers fix the problem after a while Dave fixes the issue good and Becky thanks him he then says he helped her because

he figured that it was important to her Becky says it is and Dave mentions that his own interests are in physics elsewhere the strange vase from balthazar's store is now in the house of a woman who bought it years ago the vase suddenly starts vibrating and as the woman's husband scolds her for buying the old piece of antique why did you have to buy this a swarm of flies come out of it and form up to become Horvath who immediately asks if he's the first one out the woman immediately passes out and Horvath realizes that

Balthazar is still trapped in the vase he then Smiles joyfully and throws the vase out of the window to ensure Balthazar never escapes luckily though balazar manages to escape before the vas lands on the floor and breaks he then goes to the top of a building to use his powers to turn the statue of a steel bird into a real one which he plans to use to locate Horvath elsewhere Horvath has already arrived at Dave's Place and he startles the boy just as he enters his apartment Horvath then asks where he kept the grimhold where's

the Grim ho but Dave mentions that he doesn't have it with him he adds that he threw it away on the streets but Horvath doesn't believe him as he threatens to attack Dave the boy quickly runs out of his room because he can't seem to believe that he's reliving his nightmare from years ago Horvath then uses his powers to send wolves after Dave after running around for a while horvath's wolves finally find Dave but he begs for Mercy because he doesn't know where the grimhold is Horvath still doesn't believe him and as he instructs his

wolves to kill Dave kill him they suddenly turn into harmless puppies as Horvath wonders what's going on Balthazar appears with the steel bird and attacks him he also asks Dave where the Grim hold is but the boy says it's not with him before Horvath gets up again to attack them Bazar quickly helps Dave get on the bird so they can escape together shortly after they stop at the top of a building and Dave looks shocked to see balthazar's flying bird become a statue again he also seems quite nervous and says he doesn't want to remember

what happened 10 years ago Bazar then tells him that he's special you have a very special gift but Dave says he'd love to be normal as he adds that he doesn't want to have anything to do with magic Bazar suddenly tracks Merlin's ring to Dave's locker and realizes that the boy didn't get rid of the Ring Dave says he has been planning to sell it but Balthazar figures out that he's lying he then asks Dave again for the Grim hold but the boy explains that he threw it away after leaving the store that day as

he wonders what's special about it Bazar tells him that the grimhold is a prison for Morana and some of her Warriors who will get freed by Horvath if he gets his hands on it first he adds that Horvath is working with Morana whose primary goal is to kill all humans and take control of the earth Dave still says he prefers to live a normal life and that he'd rather not have anything to do with magic Bazar thinks he's making a mistake but he tells Dave that he'll be free free to do whatever he wants you

help me get it back as long as he helps retrieve the Grim hold from wherever it is despite initially being reluctant Dave finally agrees and Bazar uses his powers to track the grimhold to a place in Chinatown looks like downtown after he pinpoints the location Bazar immediately gets in his car and drives toward the place with Dave on their way Dave asks questions about using the Ring's Powers so balazar teaches him how to use it unfortunately Dave doesn't quite get it and he looks disappointed Balthazar then mentions that as a sorcerer he'll be able to

manipulate matter in such a way that he'll get to use the entire capacity of his brain clear your mind he adds that it's how they're all born and it's why physics comes quite easy for Dave who still seems confused Balthazar then tells him that if he must use his powers he needs to do it discreetly to ensure regular humans don't see him elsewhere Horvath returns to the front of balthazar's store to relive the moment Dave ran out 10 years ago while watching What Happens Horvath notices that Dave threw the Grim hold away but where but

someone else picked it up following this he decides to head over to find the woman a few minutes later balazar and Dave arrive in Chinatown to find the grimhold while balazar goes inside a building where his powers have tracked the grimhold to he tells Dave to stay back just then balazar enters a store and meets a woman who sells antique objects as Balthazar asks for what he's looking for he notices that there's something off about the woman so he throws her across the room and realizes that Horvath actually changed his form Horvath then brags about

how he already got the grimhold and has opened a layer of it to release one of morgana's Warriors named sunlock almost immediately sunlock attacks balazar but the good sorcerer throws him out the window as sunlock lands on the ground he falls near Dave who doesn't seem to know what's going on before anything happens to him though Balthazar tells Dave to run should run and he does just as he's told unfortunately sunlock is capable of summoning a dragon to chase down Dave but the boy still manages to avoid getting caught he eventually has nowhere to run

to so he points the dragon ring at sunlock and tries to see if he can use his powers B sees this and advises Dave to clear his mind but the boy doesn't know how to do this after a while Dave finally succeeds in channeling the Ring's power to blast a massive energy wave at the dragon balazar then helps the boy with finishing off sunlock before trapping him inside the grimhold again while this is happening Horvath sees Dave with Merlin's ring and looks shocked because he knows that only Merlin's successor can wear the ring instead of

doing anything though he decides to leave leave just as some cops arrive in the area what happened here balazar sees this and immediately turns Dave and himself into cops so they can convince the real officers that nothing suspicious happened in the area despite reports from residents about seeing a dragon after doing this balazar takes Dave to his car and asks for Merlin's ring so that the boy can continue living his normal life however Dave seems to have enjoyed what just happened so he begs balazar to teach him everything he needs to know to become the

sorcerer the world needs remember it being bigger balazar looks happy to hear this and he agrees to teach Dave though he says they'll need a discret place for that Dave mentions that he has the perfect spot for their training and after a while he takes balazar to the secret lab where he works on his ideas in physics before they start training balazar drops the grimhold and uses a spell to make it invisible he then draws the Merlin circle on the floor after which he tells Dave that if he walks into the circle and begins his

training he won't be able to change his decision Dave doesn't think it's a bad idea so he walks into the circle and balazar says the boy will now be his Apprentice elsewhere Horvath finds one of his Loyalists and tells him that he needs an army the man says there's one person who can do whatever he wants and as Horvath seems interested in knowing who it is he is directed to the house of a young sorcerer named Drake after Drake recognized izes Horvath he looks really excited to see a legend however Horvath doesn't look convinced by

Drake's ability Drake then mentions that even though his master left him before he completed his training he's still quite good at what he does Horvath likes this so he tells Drake that he thinks Balthazar has found the prime merlinian meanwhile Balthazar continues training Dave and even though he struggles at first the boy manages to do a few little things that please his master after a while they head out to to buy dinner and sit on a bench near a park dude as they're eating Bazar realizes that Dave actually picked the bench specifically because it's close

to the College radio office where Becky Works Bazar immediately advises Dave against falling in love because it can complicate things however Dave says he has liked Becky since they were kids and he's really hoping she can be his girlfriend balazar doesn't like this but Dave still walks away to meet Becky as she leaves work as he walks with her to the train station Dave mentions that he listened to her show the other day and Becky looks happy to hear this before they can talk further a thug appears out of nowhere and snatches Becky's bracelet as

he runs away Becky looks sad and says it was her late grandmother's bracelet Dave feels sorry for her and tells her to wait for him following this he runs away and stops the thug from leaving even though the thug is dangerous Dave eventually uses his Ring's power to defeat the man and take back Becky's bracelet your grandmother's bracelet as he returns it to her Becky looks shocked and asks how he was able to get it back despite the thug being bigger Dave says he's good at boxing but Becky doesn't believe him she also adds that

there's something weird about him but Dave quickly changes the subject and asks if she'd like to come to his lab so he can teach her anything she needs to know for upcoming tests Becky likes this idea and agrees to meet him at his lab the next day Dave is happy about this and as she leaves he says he'll send her the address shortly after balazar appears before Dave and warns him again that being in a relationship might make things complicated for him however Dave still seems really interested in being with Becky the next day while

they're training in the lab Becky arrives so Dave begs Balthazar to leave immediately even though he initially seems reluctant Balthazar eventually leaves but he meets Becky first and introduces himself to her as Dave's Uncle after a while Dave then shows Becky around his lab and tells her about his project I almost didn't notice something he also puts on a show for her to see several Sparks of electricity which make the same sounds as the songs played on Becky's radio show Becky is impressed by this and Dave also looks happy because he's slowly winning her heart

after they eventually leave the lab and head to school Dave asks Becky if she she'd like to come again and she says she'd love to they then agree to meet on the next day and Dave looks happy as he heads to the restroom Drake confronts him and calls him the prime merlinian Dave doesn't know what this is but Drake reveals his powers and threatens to hurt the boy before he does anything though Horvath enters the restroom and tells Drake to watch the door Dave finally realizes what's happening but as Horvath asks for the Grim hold

again he says he has no clue where Balthazar hid it bath then asks if balazar already told him about the person inside but as Dave looks confused the man tells him that his master is not someone to be trusted he adds that there's so much he's not telling Dave tell me as Dave wonders what he's talking about Balthazar enters the restroom and attacks Drake and Horvath after a brief fight he eventually knocks out Drake and locks Horvath inside a mirror shortly after as Dave returns to his lab he asks balazar about the person inside the

grimhold and he says it's Morana he then tells Dave the story of how Merlin had three apprentices who he gave a special spell to keep them from aging until they found someone who would inherit his powers balazar says that the person is Dave and he needs to accept his Destiny however Dave looks scared and says he's not interested in learning magic again balazar is pissed to hear this and he tells Dave not to forget the oath he took when he entered the Merlin Circle Dave doesn't say anything about this but he still believes he's not

the right person to inherit Merlin's powers and I'm not asking elsewhere Horvath goes to Dave's school and uses a spell to control the secretary and make him reveal everything the school knows about Dave including his lab meanwhile Dave asks Bazar how he'll know when he becomes the prime merlinian balazar says he'll have powers without using the ring as he continues training Bazar then shows Dave a soul Fusion spell he's trying to learn he adds that he has only ever seen one person do it and he's not sure it will work if he tries it before

saying anything else Dave checks his wristwatch and realizes that Becky will soon be at the lab he quickly begs Balthazar to leave and even though the man complains about this he eventually decides to leave Dave then starts cleaning the lab but since he won't be able to complete the task before Becky shows up he decides to use the ring unfortunately this only makes things worse and he even loses control of the mops and other tools he's using to clean the room almost immediately Becky arrives at the lab but he can't let her in so he

has no choice but to tell her to leave he acts weird while he's talking and Becky notices it but she just leaves Dave is disappointed by this but as he thinks about how to clean the room with all the mops trying to attack him Balthazar eventually comes in in and helps him he then accuses the boy of not taking things seriously Dave says he's trying his best but that things are not just working out for him Balthazar thinks he doesn't believe himself enough but Dave gets pissed and says that his master likely came into his

life to make it a living hell Bazar says he doesn't know what he's talking about but Dave seems frustrated that he still can't control his powers so he walks away he then stops at a coffee shop and sees Becky inside he thinks about going inside to apologize to her but he decides against it and walks away Becky sees him leaving so she follows him to the top of a building where he's about to throw Merlin's ring away as he hears her voice though he quickly hides the ring and asks how she found him Becky explains

that she followed him and he then says sorry for what happened earlier Becky doesn't seem to care and she also tells him that she has never thought of him as a weird person even when they were kids shortly after Dave returns to the lab to inform Balthazar that he's ready for the next rounds of training as balazar says they can begin immediately it eventually turns out that Drake actually transformed into Dave to deceive him before balazar realizes what's happening Drake and Horvath tie him up and start looking for the grimhold Horvath eventually uses a special

power to find the grimhold after which he sounds angry and says that he can't believe Veronica chose balazar over him as he mentions that he'll now release Morana to begin the next phase of her plans balazar manages to free one of his hands and uses a spell to blast Drake away before he does anything else Horvath nearly kills him but Dave suddenly enters the lab and uses the dragon ring to stop a set of knives from stabbing Balthazar almost immediately Horvath and Drake Escape but balazar and Dave quickly run out to follow them after long

Chase Horvath eventually gets Balthazar distracted by making someone on the streets look like Veronica this helps Horvath and Drake Escape but Dave figures out that there's more to balthazar's story after they return to the lab Balthazar tells Dave about how Horvath turned on Merlin because he couldn't handle the fact that Veronica rejected him he also shows Dave the necklace he was going to give Veronica on the night she sacrificed herself to save him Dave feels sorry for him and he said he'll help Balthazar in any way he can nothing you're still in bad shortly after

Drake tells Horvath that he has gotten all the satellite dishes in the city to be connected for the next stage of morgana's plans as he asks what to do next Horvath kills Drake and steals his ring he then hires a little witch named Abigail to help him kidnap Becky after Abigail does this Horvath kills the Witch and takes her ring as well he then mentions that he needs one more ring to be able to release Morana from the grimhold meanwhile Dave and balazar leave for horvath's house as they get there they head separate ways to

find the grimhold while Dave eventually finds it balazar falls into a trap set by Horvath before Dave can find balazar and leave with the grimhold Horvath shows up with Becky and threatens to kill her if the boy doesn't give up Merlin's ring Dave doesn't think twice about this because he loves Becky and Horvath finally gets all the Rings he needs as well as the grimhold after Horvath leaves balazar survives the Trap and sees Dave with Becky Dave then explains what happened but balazar doesn't seem pissed that he lost the ring because of a girl he

also mentions that he'll have to stop Horvath and Morgana alone Dave thinks it's too risky so he offers to help but Balthazar says it's not worth it because he no longer has his ring after Balthazar flies away with his steel bird Becky looks shocked and asks what's going on Dave then confesses that he's a sorcerer he also explains everything that's about to happen Becky looks shocked but she believes Dave and doesn't think he's being weird okay I canot after a while Bennett meets Dave to show him the mail he just received for his roommate as

Dave checks what's inside he realizes that it contains the necklace balazar wanted to give Veronica since this means that balazar likely wants wants to sacrifice himself to try to stop Morana Dave says he needs to do something elsewhere Horvath finally releases Morana while she's still in Veronica's body and she starts using her powers to link all the satellite dishes together to form a portal that will bring her Army of the Dead to Earth as the energy waves start moving through the satellites Dave sees it on his way to find balazar interestingly Becky doesn't see anything

and she wonders what he's looking at in the sky after a while Dave tells Becky that he doesn't want her to come with him because she might get hurt Becky says she won't leave him alone so Dave thinks about how to let her help almost immediately he drops her off at the college radio office and tells her to go to the top of the building to move the antenna and disrupt the signal Becky looks scared but she agrees to do it for him meanwhile as Morana continues to open the portal Horvath decides to destroy the

grimhold so that his boss won't be trapped there again before he does this Balthazar appears in the park and takes the Grim hold from him unfortunately the three rings in horvath's possession make him stronger and he uses this to attack Balthazar and send a bull after him balazar manages to avoid getting killed but before Horvath does anything else Dave arrives at the scene and immediately helps his master defeat his Nemesis using his knowledge of science as Horvath thinks of retaliating balthazar's steel bird suddenly carries the evil man away to an unknown destination unfortunately though Morgana

has already completed the process of opening the portal as her Army starts waking up in different parts of the world Becky successfully knocks off the College radio antenna and this affects everything Morana has done it also makes her weak and she passes out Bazar quickly runs to get Veronica's body and after looking at her for a while he absorbs morgana's Soul into his body Veronica regains control of her body and realizes what balazar did but he says he did it for her he then tells Dave to lock him inside the Grim hold but the boy

says he can't suddenly Morana takes control of balthazar's body and frees her soul as she's about to burn Balthazar and Veronica alive Dave stands in front of them and uses his hands to stop the fire this shocks balazar but it helps him confirm that he really found the Prime merlinian despite this Morgana still seems really powerful and she overpowers Dave and blasts off Balthazar while he's weak he passes out immediately but Dave still stands up to Morana as she then tries to finish him off Dave channels his powers to the lamp poost in the park

and uses it to electrocute Morgana until her soul completely vanishes Dave looks happy about this but he sees that balazar is still unconscious before he can do anything Veronica announces that Balthazar is dead but she says it's good that he already completed his quest Dave is disappointed to hear this and he looks devastated suddenly he goes near balthazar's body and says he can't just let the man die he then forms a Merlin circle around the man and continually uses his powers to bang on balthazar's chest this doesn't seem to work but as Dave gives up

balazar wakes up and looks happy to be alive Dave then gives him the special necklace so he can hand it to Veronica by himself
