Hey guys today in Resuming Films, I'm going to explain about an action and science fiction movie called Hardcore — Extreme Mission, in which we follow the first-person perspective of a cyborg. Stay tuned that there will be spoilers to follow. The film starts with young Henry looking at 3 boys in the street, who throw their little toy robot into the wall.
Soon, Henry's father approaches, the boys run away and the man crouches next to the boy, saying he was useless. The next scene already introduces us to a laboratory in Moscow, with an adult Henry inside a capsule. Estelle, a scientist, opens the capsule Henry is in, regulates his vision and then initiates it.
As Henry's vision calibrates, the water inside the capsule drains away and he looks at his body, realizing that he doesn't have his left leg and hand. Estelle approaches Henry, takes his hand and says that for now he can't speak. She asks if he remembers his past, the boy just shakes his head.
The computer then scans Henry's body, Estelle attaches a robotic arm and asks him to try to move it. Henry struggles at first, but soon manages to crush a fruit. Estelle then programs the computer to put skin on the robotic arm, while mentioning it's his wife.
Estelle then lifts him and takes a wedding ring from his coat. Henry promptly puts it on his finger. She guides the cyborg into the next room, where scientists Robbie and Timothy are listening to rock music.
Robbie approaches Henry and greets him. Afterwards, Timothy puts on his head a piece of equipment to choose the voice. But before they adjust the resource, the door is knocked down and a group of mercenaries invades the laboratory.
They shoot computers and interrupt Estelle's call. Akan, the megalomaniac leader of the mercenaries, slowly enters last. He takes the phone from the scientist's hands, approaches Henry and asks if he was enjoying his new body, since the raw material that reconstructed it was given by him.
Akan then levitates Timothy into the air with his telekinetic powers and stabs him, while his nose bleeds from the loss of energy. Estelle takes advantage of the fact that the mercenaries are distracted and tells Henry to follow him. She turns on the sound system and the couple runs with their hands over their ears until they hide in the tunnels.
They follow to a room, where there are a series of bodies. Estelle explains that if Akan touched his work, he would form an army of cyborgs out of those people. Then they reach a hallway and Henry runs towards the exit, but the door he opens leads him out of the aircraft.
Henry almost falls, but Estelle pulls him back. The two descend into two escape pods, but one is already occupied by Martin, another scientist, who leaves the couple behind. Estelle tells Henry to enter the other capsule and get out of there.
So he does, but before closing it, he gives a hand calling Estelle to go with him. The scientist is amazed. He pulls her inside and the two leave.
Soon the capsule loses altitude at an abnormal speed. Henry deploys the parachute, but they still crash into the middle of the road. After getting up, Henry approaches Estelle and sees that she is passed out.
He takes the scientist in his arms, but two vans full of mercenaries surround them. Estelle soon wakes up and tells Henry that he could handle everyone. Henry even punches Yuri, the agent's commander, in the face, but is then hit hard.
The mercenaries then arrest Estelle and Yuri hits the cyborg with a stun gun. Henry then falls into the parking lot under the bridge, but quickly gets up and runs towards the cars for cover. The mercenaries come looking for you.
The cyborg runs to a container, but steps on a tool bag and this attracts the agents' attention. Henry then rips a windshield off a vehicle and punctures the first one that enters the container. Then Henry approaches the car, starts the vehicle and starts it.
The car leaves the container alone and hits some agents, giving Henry the opening to shoot while running desperately. Before he can get away, Henry is run over, but soon another vehicle crashes into the van and Henry falls far away. Then another man named Jimmy gets out of the car and shoots what's left of the agents, while the cyborg is left hands-up in confusion.
Jimmy approaches Henry and introduces himself as an ally. He realizes the cyborg cannot speak and returns to his car calling him. On the way Jimmy asks Henry to get a device, take off his shirt and plug two cables into his chest.
Jimmy notices that the boy only has 30 minutes to live before he runs out of energy and says he would take him to the lab. But before they get there, they are approached by two police officers. Jimmy hands Henry a bag with an outfit for Henry to wear.
The officers draw weapons and attack the two. Jimmy realizes they were working for Akan and starting the vehicle, but one of the shots unexpectedly hits Jimmy's head. Before being reached, Henry leaves the vehicle with his bag in hand, runs all bloodied to a subway station and hides in a small shop.
There, he takes the opportunity to change clothes very quickly. Afterwards, he fights with 2 agents at the station and escapes to a bus stop. When the first bus arrives, the cyborg gets in and sits down with the rest of the passengers.
After a while, a homeless person passes the chairs begging and sits opposite Henry. He offers her a drink, but the cyborg refuses. Then the homeless man reveals himself again as Jimmy, takes a pair of pliers from his pocket, grabs the cyborg's left arm , yanks a tracker from his wrist, and destroys it.
Jimmy then explains that his mechanical parts would shut down due to the lack of power, so Jimmy hands him a communicator device containing a map to get to the house of Dimitry, one of Akan's contacts in town. The mission was to break into the place, rip out Dimitry's heart and grab the voltage regulator that was under the organ. Before they can continue their conversation, an Akan mercenary with a flamethrower attacks the vehicle and the two begin to catch fire.
Henry gets off the bus through the window, runs over to a couple, grabs the guy's water bottle and throws it at himself. He then finds homeless Jimmy on fire, throws his shirt at him trying to contain the fire, but he ends up dying. Afterwards, the cyborg grabs a pistol from the ground and flees the scene.
Henry arrives at a park, puts the gun and the device with the map in his pocket, and steals the clothes of two men who were taking a dip in the lake. Upon arriving in front of the building where Dimitry lives, Henry is approached by one of Akan's mercenaries and gives him a lighter. Then he turns around, scales the side of the building, and enters a drugged couple 's apartment through the window .
Henry goes silently armed up the stairs to the elevator, but is surprised by 3 agents. He kills two, holds another one by the nose with pliers, and forces him to guide him to the spot where Dimitry is, while shooting at the other mercenaries along the way. Henry arrives in the room where Dimitry is sitting, but he appears unconscious.
Before the cyborg rips out the piece that needs the guy's heart, a video of Estelle appears on the screen and Dimitry takes advantage of the distraction to attack him. A great chase between the two begins, first inside the building, then through the streets to a fair, where Henry finally catches up with him. Before the cyborg kills him, Dimitry reveals that he had information that Henry didn't know, but someone hits him in the head.
Henry drags Dimitry's body, removes the energy regulator from under his heart and runs away. He then receives a call from Jimmy on his communicator, who gives him new coordinates about his location. Upon arriving at the place, Henry realizes he is in a brothel and is guided by Ella, one of the employees of the establishment, to the presence of another clone of Jimmy, this time a drug addict who is relaxing with a group of girls in bed.
Henry turns off a stereo, Jimmy tries to talk to him, but the cyborg unloads. Drgged Jimmy takes the voltage regulator to recharge it around the girls, but due to the effects of the drugs, he can't do the procedure. Jimmy walks away and his body falls to the ground as the girls take advantage of Henry.
Another Jimmy clone arrives and quickly manages to help the cyborg, who has regained his energy. Before this Jimmy takes him to the lab, the brothel is invaded by mercenaries and Jimmy leaves Henry behind. The junkie then wakes up, uses some more drugs and kicks out the door for the confrontation.
Henry goes to the drawers and finds two pistols. He crosses the rooms of the brothel, fights the mercenaries again and is saved by Olga and Katya, two trained women who were also in the place. Then Henry ends up opening one of the rooms to hide and encounters Akan, who quickly immobilizes him with his telekinetic powers.
Akan then kills a man with a platter. He then throws Henry into the air tunnels next to the drugged Jimmy's body and they both fall into a parking lot. There, Henry meets Jimmy Hippie, another version of the same man.
They interrogate an agent asking for information about Akan's fate. Jimmy gets two shots in the guy's leg and he reveals that the mercenary was taking the girl to the base. Before the guy can continue, Katya shoots the agent from a distance.
Henry is startled, but realizes that the girls are together with Jimmy. Katya and Olga follow on their motorcycles in search of the mercenaries, while Henry follows the Hippie. Upon finding the vehicles, Henry uses a machine gun to destroy some vans, but after Jimmy's motorcycle falls off the road, he follows Katya to the last vehicle, where he enters a lab where Estelle is being held.
After releasing Estelle, Akan reappears on one of the monitors and attacks the vehicle they are in. Yuri and Akan enter. Henry is punched again, until Akan hits him with a baseball bat and throws him out of the vehicle.
Henry is momentarily passed out. When he regains consciousness, he realizes that he is being dragged by a group of mercenaries with his unregulated vision. They dig a grave to bury him, only Jimmy Hippie and Olga save him.
Jimmy makes some adjustments to Henry's body and realizes he has a memory blocker. After 15 minutes, Henry wakes up with blurry eyes. He looks to the side and sees the couple kissing.
Jimmy approaches his colleague, calling him for a walk. Henry helps Olga to her feet, while Jimmy walks ahead and is hit by a tank, which throws a shrapnel into the woman's body. Henry then lays Olga's corpse on the ground, takes her sword and runs trying to escape.
After a shot partially hits him, Henry is thrown into the air, grabs a tree and jumps on top of the tank. The cyborg then kills all the mercenaries there with the sword. Then he spots a helicopter and follows.
Henry kills the agents and grabs one of the ropes. Before he can get inside the aircraft, Yuri reappears and cuts the rope, causing Henry to fall violently into the middle of a tree. Henry's communicator rings.
He answers a call from Jimmy who gives him the coordinates of his hideout. Henry gets up and tries to mount a horse to get faster, only he falls off the animal and gives up on the idea. After following the instructions, Henry arrives in a forest and comes across another version of Jimmy, this time a camouflaged sniper.
The two go to that laboratory, which is in an abandoned building. Upon entering the site, the two find police abusing a woman. Jimmy tries to follow through without compromising the secrecy of his hideout, but Henry still leaves to confront the agents.
Then Henry and Jimmy go to the secret laboratory. Upon arriving in a room, Henry watches a video of Jimmy and Akan working together on the cyborg project , showing that Akan left the scientist trapped with some dysfunctional test subjects and then broke his spine. At that moment, the real Jimmy, in a wheelchair, enters the laboratory.
He explains that Akan financed his research, until the incident left him trapped in that chair. Afterwards, he talks about his clone project, as a device is plugged into his head and another Jimmy enters the room. The scientist takes Henry to a big screen, plugs two cables into it, and gives a view of his body.
Afterwards, Jimmy does a musical number with 4 other clones, until he receives an alert that the cyborg is transmitting everything in real time to Akan. Henry then fights the other Jimmy's in the room, until his latest prototype falls into his arms and another Jimmy tells him to drop him. Before he hits him with a shot, Henry explains to his colleague that he didn't know about the transmission.
Soon, the Akan mercenaries approach the lab, the alarm goes off and Jimmy asks Henry to kill him, but the cyborg slaps him, making him realize that this was not the solution. The two form an alliance to escape from there and then save Henry's wife. The sniper Jimmy enters the room.
The pair install bombs on the walls of the laboratory and then climb to the highest part of the building to ambush. When the mercenaries enter the crosshairs, the two start hitting them. Jimmy sniper calls for cover and goes out.
Jimmy Punk then wakes up downstairs and attacks the agents in melee until he is killed. The sniper goes back to Henry's side, tells him to find Jimmy Colonel inside the building, and throws himself with two grenades. Henry returns, Jimmy colonel orders him to take guns and so does the cyborg.
While Jimmy's other two bodies descend unconscious in the elevator, Henry and the colonel eliminate the other mercenaries in the building. After Jimmy's unconscious bodies reach the ground, he and the colonel are cornered by a large number of agents, but Jimmy sets off the bombs he had installed and everyone is crushed. The pair then flees in a van to Akan's base.
As they invade the building, they find several dead agents and the flamethrower mercenary reappears. After killing the guy with blows to the head, Henry picks up a shield from among the agents and follows the last two Jimmy's to an elevator. Soon, the scientist begins to say goodbye to Henry, as he has a shrapnel lodged in his true jugular.
Quickly, Colonel Jimmy takes a device that was in Henry's pocket and puts it on his face, allowing the boy to recall his real memories. Then Jimmy Colonel falls, the two hold hands, and Henry says goodbye to his friend. Upon exiting the elevator, Henry picks up the shield again and fights some agents.
He arrives in a room, where he watches a video of the mercenary with his platoon of cyber soldiers. Henry discovers that Akan is injecting memories like him into all soldiers and that Estelle was his wife. Afterwards, Akan enters the room, hurls Henry against the wall, and a more improved version of cyber soldier invades the room.
Henry is then forced to fight him, and even with difficulties, he manages to defeat him. The other cyber soldiers wake up and advance to the room where Henry is. He closes the door and takes his enhanced energy device from the dead soldier and puts it on himself.
This causes Henry to regain his strength, as the soldiers break the door and the cyborg flees down the same ladder as Akan. Henry arrives on the roof of the building and advances towards the mercenary, who again uses his powers to push him away. The other soldiers approach, surround the cyborg and a violent fight begins.
Even taking the occasional blow, Henry eliminates a good part of the soldiers, until he finds weapons in a small room for distance combat. When the other soldiers finally invade the room, Henry uses the grenades to cause an explosion. He is knocked away, realizes a first-aid kit is at his side, and injects adrenaline into both legs.
This makes the cyborg more alert and he ends up killing the rest of the soldiers. Akan then approaches Henry, who tries again to strike him, but the rival uses his telekinetic powers to defeat him. Henry passes out after being thrown to the ground, but upon hearing Estelle's voice, the cyborg opens his eyes and sees her kissing Akan.
They talk about the plan to test the cyborg and Estelle reveals that she knew it would work from the moment he pulled her into the capsule. Akan then lands a kick in Henry's face. He lands with his face reflected in a glass and we return to the scene when Henry was a child.
The moment his father asks if he would always be beaten, or if he would react by making his enemies bleed. Back on the roof of the building, Henry smiles, still down. He grabs a wire close to his body, wraps it around his robotic hand, and steps toward Akan.
Injuring him without giving him a chance to use his powers. Akan quickly starts to float. Henry uses the bodies in the air to gain momentum and grab the killer's legs.
Henry then takes out his cybernetic eye, wraps the wire around Akan's mouth and uses it to cut off his head, while the rest of his body falls into the helicopter's propellers. After the aircraft takes off, Henry quickly grabs the only remaining piece of Akan's head and jumps into the helicopter. The cyborg bumps into Estelle.
She asks where Akan was and Henry shows her his head, which prompts the woman to shoot him. Henry falls injured and Estelle asks why he did that to her. Henry then uses his own blood to write the acronym “EZ”, implying that it was an easy task.
Angered by the insult, Estelle fires the last shot, but it bounces off Henry's mechanical arm and hits her. Estelle then staggers until she falls through the helicopter door. Henry approaches and sees Estelle about to fall.
She begs Henry to help her, but he simply closes the door and Estelle's scream echoes as the end credits go up.
