hello and thanks for tuning in to my YouTube channel pickle ball pick aart my name is Rory I take pickle ball games off of YouTube and I pick aart the play on the court watching my videos will help make you a better pickle ball player in this video a 4. 5 $1,000 money ball tournament played in mandaville Louisiana at Category 5 in this video I'm going to point out what makes these players 4. 5 players I am also going to show you the skills they have that set them apart from lower level players so if you one day want to be a 4.

5 player check out this video and let me know what you think about the way these players play a big thank you to the YouTube channel John tow for posting this video he has some highlevel games on his channel so check it out let's go here are the players in the near Court you have Chris and Sam in the back court you have Louie and Rodney I'm not sure who is who so I'm just going to point them out by the clothing they are wearing for some reason they took time to mention this most frustrating game of pickle ball let's see what that's all about here's the return to sir that landed inside the court a very long rally to start things off he saw an opportunity to speed the ball up there and he did a really good job of knocking that right down the middle of the Court as you get in higher level play you will see more patience and you will see more of a soft game I do real realiz that power is becoming a bigger part of the game but I think these guys are able to do it all okay so let's go back and take a look at this you know it's quite obvious that all of these players are capable players at the 4. 5 level he drops this shot right here and for some reason the player in Gray is going to go all the way across the court and poach this ball watch where he is when he hits this shot look at this he's almost well he is out of the Court his left foot is out of the court I can tell you that the player in Black has the ability to get this shot and if I am him and my partner did that and we did not talk about it before the game I would be upset and I would ask him not to do it again the main reason is he misses the shot another really nice third shot drop he sped it up and that ball landed in the court nice job of Defending there sped it up hit him in the body great shot so what happened there is the ball hit the ceiling and if you'll not notice the ceiling here at this facility Category 5 in mandaville Louisiana has a very low ceiling I'm not saying you can't hit a lob but you cannot hit a lob as high as you can in other facilities so the players will have to adjust to that he just misses the third shot drive there nice deep return oh and look what happened the player in the gray shirt was going to the other side of the Court actually I think the players in the back court were trying a shake and bake it just did not work out so let's take a look at this he's going to drive it here oh nice job by the player in the near Court in Black seeing that his opponent was going for the shake and bake and the player in Gray thought the player in Black was going crosscourt he did not he went up the line line just fantastic recognition by the player who hit that winning shot to notice what his opponent was doing and look at the guy in the gray shirt his head is down like okay you beat me he just misses that reset there going to drive that shot and he hits it into the net very nice shot oh nice lob there backhand flick very nice defense it's very difficult to win from the back of the Court the player in Black in the back court did a great job of Defending and the player in Gray hit a really really good reset but watch what he does after he hits this reset right here he's just admiring it look at this he's standing straight up that was a great reset giving both he and his partner an opportunity to move forward but neither of them did so again he gets stuck at the back of the court and it's very difficult to win from back there oh that was just barely out of the Court great [Music] reset oh he got the Ernie to fall in that was a very very nice shot driving it here ready for it nice reset and he hits it into the net let me say something about the player and black in the near Court he's playing with a Yola Ma ta15 I did a video the other day in which a female 3. 0 player was playing with that padal she simply could not control it she hit so many shots out of the court because she did not have the skill to control the most powerful paddle in pickle ball this player does have the ability to do that he's a 4.

5 player he can hit resets he can hit third shot d Drs he's not using a lot of power even though he's playing with such a powerful paddle a paddle that will be banned in competition play come July the 1st I just wanted to point that out I think he is an excellent player and he's doing a great job controlling the ball that was going out of the Court he hit it anyway oh nice job again that's the second time he has attacked the body of the player in Gray oh that fell in the court and he's smiling about it like okay nice shot two-handed backhand Dr into the kitchen and he misses that shot I think he tried to speed it up and the ball was just not high enough to do so driving it here and that's right oh he called it out and that ball sails out of the Court that's the third time he has attacked him he is just not ready for it and he misses the return of serve there or the third shot sorry and that Ball's out of the court that gives the players in the near Court a free point I mean mistakes like that happen even at the 4. 5 level drive it here good get great defense cannot defend that one he's going to drive it here waiting for it oh my goodness that was a nice backand by the player in Black driving it here oh he got that shot but he can't get that one so what I'm seeing here here is there are three players on the court that are playing one way and one player who was playing totally different the player that is playing different is the player in Gray he's driving every third shot he's driving fifth shots whereas all the other players are resetting the ball and they're also hitting more third shot drops than third shot drives like right here he's going to reset this ball perfectly the player in Gray probably have driven that ball see he tried to speed it up which he did and that's a great defensive play by the player in black and it cost him the point he tried to speed it up he was a little bit impatient he did have the opportunity to uh speed it up and win the point look at that shot but the player in black on the previous point is just good enough to defend that shot watch right here this is fantastic boom yeah they are attacking the player in Gray he's having a difficult time defending some of those shots oh goes for the Ernie and just misses it great shot he follows it up with a perfect backhand third shot drop right into the corner of the Court great defense that time in that instance he was able to defend that one that was a tough shot for him to get again he reset the ball on the fifth shot but he made no effort to move up and he misses that shot he misses that shot as well for the unforced error there really haven't been a tremendous amount of unforced Errors got it at his shoe strings good job H it into the net wow that was kind of like a uh I don't know what to call that it wasn't a scorpion but he somehow got his paddle on that ball hit it over the net and the player in Gray hit it out all right halfway point as you can see the score is 8 to one Chris and Sam are just killing it again I think part of the reason is the player in Gray has not been able to handle some pretty hard shots that have been hit to him and he's playing a little bit different game than the other three players of playing let's see if he can soften things up and get back into this game that may be what they're discussing right here don't get me wrong he's a very very good player it's just that the his opponents got the best of him in the first half of this game and he misses a dink into the net nine one to nine now let's see if they can score some points here that's a great reset nice try good defense and he hits it out of the Court great job by player in Black in the near court now going to drive it ready for it all right that point right there was a clinic on how defend to defend the ball by the players in the back court I mean wow how many points did they defend here let me show you what they did so well that a lot of players at the 3. 0 3.

5 just cannot do they can do it but they don't do it as well as these players do first drive first uh third shot drive this is really pretty easy he was at the non Valley Zone just waiting for it but it does cause him to hit up on the ball and the player in Black smashes a two-handed backhand right at his opponent but look at his opponent he is in that split step position with his paddle at his knees he's able to to get it back and this player is going to fire away once again with his two-handed backhand that is just so good now he's going to hit it at the other player and he hits it into the net another thing the player in Black in the back court is doing really really well is he is not swinging his paddle if he were to swing that Yola mod 15 with those hard shots the player in Black hited him the ball would have flown 10 feet out of the Court he just stuck his paddle up Let the ball hit it and let the force of the ball go over the net again he did not swing most players are going to swing at those shots third shot Drve coming up oh that's one of the instances in where the third shot Drve worked for him and that time it didn't he just sail that ball out of the Court by five feet that ball goes out of the Court as well for a free point for the team in the back court yeah third shot drive he should have followed up with a fist shot reset great shot no sneak attack lob definitely did not work missed the serve on that that one third shot Drve coming just waiting for it [Applause] easily put away so the player in the back court that just drove that into the net on the third shot has driven about three third shot drives into the net on the other hand I don't think he's missed a third shot drop so I'm just curious as to know why he doesn't hit mostly third shot drops that was out of the Court yep oh that was just unfortunate for the players in the near Court just missed that one that landed inside the court I'm just so impressed with the control that player has with that mod 15 paddle 90% of other players would have hit that out of the Court great get goodbye he got it back but just did not get it over the net in the right place great defense by the player in Gray wow oh he just misses that into the net but still a very long point there at lower levels you do not see points last this [Applause] long great get him twoo wow that was the point of the match if you ask me there was so much to that point let's go back and take a look and watch everything that was so good look at this defense he gets that ball to land inside the court the player does a great job of going back and getting this ball now this player sees that his opponent is at the back of the court so he's going to hit it to him back there keeping him back there now he probably should have hit this to the player in Black he doesn't he chooses it to hit it to the player is at who's at the non Valley Zone and he somehow gets that back good defense oh and that just goes into the net and the player in Gray lets out a big sigh relief because they won that point he hung in there he did a really really good job of keeping those balls in play got the Ernie nice job he had been waiting for that yep that's the second time the player in Black in the back tried that lob at the non viy Zone it just didn't work out for him I doubt if he'll try that again just missed it I don't think he bent down to get it really like that two-handed backhand drop and he gets another Ernie oh that went out of the Court there were 28 exchanges in this point if you're a power player you probably think this is really boring I do not these are highly skilled players and you just do not see point that last that long at lower levels got lucky it hit the top of the tape and rolled over he's really good with that two-handed backhand drop was able to speed it up and put it away great shot good job there this guy has that shot down it's a very difficult shot that's why he's a 4. 5 player you just do not see that shot at the 3. 0 level you see it at the 3.

5 level but not as often and not as successful as the player in Black in the near court is hitting that shot oh he missed it good job waiting for an opportunity was able to speed it up just a little bit what oh he missed it good defense good defense okay the ball hit the ceiling of again that was a really good defensive point that's just unfortunate those ceilings are nowhere near as high as the facilities that I play in oh missed it but that was probably 30 shots again it you just don't see this at lower levels the score is now 7 to2 when they changed sides the score was 8 to one so the team in the near court has outscored the team in the back court six to4 and I think that is because the player in Gray who is now in the near court has slowed his game down he is not playing as much of a power game as he did earlier good defense oh he almost got that back oh just missed it tried to get that backand over that was a really nice play by the player and the lighter colored shirt in the back of the Court he's going to drive that one he gets that crosscourt here oh that's out of the Court great point oh he tried to hit it a second time swung and missed almost got it on the second attempt he's going to drive it right right out of the court I mean he was doing so well he had slowed down his game and he had not done that since maybe the third point of the game he just fires away and it flies out of the Court see the difference what his partner does he hits that beautiful third shot drop allowing both of them to move forward and that's out of the Court oh wow he tried to third shot uh what I call a drip a cross between a drive and a dink and his partner was able to take it out of the Court look at that shot look at this winning shot this is like an inside out forehand look at this that hit the corner what a way to end a game with a fantastic shot like that look at the player in Gray he's just looking up at the ceiling going like how did he hit that shot actually what happened was the player in Gray cheated towards the center of the court and that player found the opening wow great shot so there you have it I think the game was closer than the score indicated all players were excellent and I think if these two teams played in a match that consisted of the best two out of three either team could win as you can see players at the 4.
