hi everyone welcome to 1% crime I know you can't sleep so I'll accompany you with crime stories that happened all over the world before we get to the story tell me where did you hear it from and if you like this content don't forget to like comment and subscribe let's jump straight into the story Kathy Martin was born on October 25th 1959 in Houston Texas Kathy grew up in a peaceful and happy family during her childhood she was very close to her older sister when she was a teenager Cathy met Mike Odum whom she would
later marry and start a family after the wedding the two settled in a quiet suburb outside of Houston and soon after they had a daughter and a son after the birth of their second child Cathy stayed home and took care of the children meanwhile Mike worked at her father's small Sign Factory thanks to the financial support of Cathy's parents the family was able to provide for their children therefore Kathy was able to take care of the children without having to worry about working at extra on March 3rdd 1987 Cathy stayed home to take care of
the children as usual Mike went to work and then met up with friends at a bar after work he called Cathy from a pay phone but she didn't answer this worried Mike because Cathy rarely left the house he called several times but got no response worried about his wife Mike called their neighbor Tim Robinson and asked him to check on her Tim went to the house and knocked on the door but no one answered he looked through the living room window and saw that the television was still on so he knocked again but got no
response at this point he began to worry that something serious might have happened to Kathy instead of going home to call Mike or the police he decided to drive around town looking for police patrols after a few minutes of searching he spotted a police car and explained the situation he asked them to check on Cathy to see if she was okay when the police arrived at the house they also got no response to their knocking they decided to try the door and found found it unlocked once inside the police found Cathy's older daughter lying unconscious
on the sofa clearly traumatized but still alive the police quickly called an ambulance and continued to check other rooms in the house in the bedroom they found the younger child lying in her crib safe and sound but when they entered another room they discovered a horrific scene Cathy was lying on the floor covered in blood and naked the police immediately determined that she was dead her arms were also tied with a light cord paramedics took Cathy's daughter to the hospital and began investigating the crime scene Cathy's father arrived at the house but the police did
not reveal any specific details instead they asked him to go to the hospital to care for his granddaughter when she woke up while waiting at the hospital he learned of his daughter's death from a news report on TV when Mike arrived at the house the police quickly discovered something strange he arrived late and had blood-like stains on his shirt the police asked him to hand over his clothes and answer questions during this time the police discovered some interesting signs they found several blood stains in the bathroom indicating that the attacker had tried to hide the
evidence after the crime this suggested that the attacker had been in the house for some time to clean up forensic experts also discovered some important Clues there were no signs of forced entry and all the windows and doors except the front door were locked this suggested that Cathy had invited the attacker into the house or that the attacker had a key police speculated that the attacker may have threatened to harm Cathy's children if she screamed or resisted therefore Cathy may have complied with the attacker demands hoping to be spared but was ultimately murdered as doctors
worked to save Cathy's daughter they discovered that she had been brutally beaten most likely with her bare hands she spent several hours in critical condition at the hospital and her chances of survival were still very low after examining Cathy's body medical experts determined that she had suffered severe injuries with 16 stab wounds most of which were concentrated in the abdomen they also discovered that she had been sexually assaulted and collected biological samples of the offender from the scene however at that time DNA analysis methods were not widely used in forensic science therefore experts were unable
to extract DNA profiles from biological samples they were only able to determine the Killer's blood type so the sample was sent to the lab for fur further analysis the police had noticed suspicious stains on his shirt early in the investigation and had kept the clothes for examination his behavior that evening was very suspicious he had gone out with friends after work but instead of going home when he couldn't reach his wife he asked a neighbor to check on him the police had seen similar cases before where a husband killed his wife and created an alibi
by going out with friends he would then ask someone else to check on his wife to avoid being the first to discover the body and throwing the Poli police off the trail the police expanded their investigation to see if Mike might have planned the murder before meeting his friends they also discovered that Mike had a criminal record after graduating from high school he was arrested for selling drugs to an undercover police officer Mike was sentenced to 6 years in prison but only served 2 years before being paroled he later married Kathy although Mike had a
criminal record the police needed more evidence to charge him the police also began investigating Mike's neighbor Tim because of signs of Suspicion Tim drove around town looking for patrol officers instead of calling the police the police checked Tim's car and found suspicious blood-like stains on the carpet they sent these samples to the lab for analysis now investigators wondered if Mike and Tim might have worked together to commit the crime after completing the report the medical examiner came to an important conclusion Cathy's time of death was around 1: p.m. before she was discovered around 6:00 p.m.
the police expand Ed their investigation to determine the suspect's whereabouts around that time and to find out what they did after the murder Mike and Tim both claimed to be at work at the time so the police set out to see if their statements were accurate 2 days after the murder they received a call from the hospital saying Cathy's daughter had woken up the police went to see her in the hope that she would provide important information about what had happened however they encountered a major obstacle the four-year-old girl's memory was almost completely erased she
only remembered a light-haired man entering the house while Mike and Tim had dark hair but the police did not rule them out as suspects they believed that the severe trauma could have made her memory inaccurate the police received a call from the lab with surprising information experts examined the evidence and found that the stain on Tim's car carpet was motor oil and the stain on Mike's shirt was just paint not evidence of a crime in addition many of Mike and Tim's co-workers also confirmed that they had been at work all day and did not leave
until the evening thus they had no opportunity to go to Cathy's house and commit the crime the police requested a lie detector test and the results showed that neither of them were lying there was no conclusive evidence the police had to review the entire case and investigate other suspects who might be familiar to Cathy's family because the attacker could have easily entered Cathy's house during the investigation they had conversations with Cathy's relatives and friends to find out who they thought might have committed the crime many of them immediately named the same person Greg Greg was
Cathy's brother-in-law and her loved ones revealed that she often complained about his behavior specifically according to Cathy Greg openly flirted with her and repeatedly tried to convince her to have sex with him Cathy also said that Greg often made inappropriate comments about her appearance especially about her abdomen and according to the evidence collected we know that most of the injuries were on Cathy's abdomen the police also knew that Greg had a history of illegal drug use and a criminal record therefore the police began to suspect him and soon found some important Clues they found Greg's
fingerprints matched one in Cathy's house as well as a hair that matched his however it should be noted that Greg often visited Cathy's family so it is possible that the fingerprints and hair were in the house before the murder occurred Kathy's parents also believed that he was the one who killed their daughter Cathy's mother specifically remembered one time when Greg visited Cathy's daughter at the hospital when she saw Greg she had a clear look of fear on her face these observations suggested that she was afraid of him however when asked she could not remember what
happened on the day of the murder after hearing all this information the police summoned Greg for questioning however he denied any involvement in the murder and said that he was with a friend at the time during the questioning Greg asked to go to the parking lot because he was afraid of being fined for expired parking however he did not return to the police police station Greg's wife Cathy's sister said that on the day of the murder Greg dropped her off at around 10:30 a.m. and picked her up at 2:30 p.m. this meant that Greg had
a 4-Hour window around the time of the murder enough time for him to commit the crime however the police still did not find enough evidence to prove Greg's involvement in the murder in a last Stitch effort to find more clues the police decided to analyze a Sean sample taken from Cathy's body however at that time the techn ology only allowed for the blood type of the owner of the Seaman sample to be determined in addition the analysis of the samples collected from the case was too small to be tested however the police still decided to
perform the test the results showed that the blood type of the owner of the Seaman sample matched Greg's blood type but this was not enough to conclude that he was guilty as a result the police were unable to arrest him they continued to search for more evidence but were unable to prove that Greg was involved in the case Cathy's family believed that Greg was the killer Kathy's sister shelle still did not believe that her husband was involved in the case and continued to live with him in the years that followed the police continued to revisit
the case hoping to find any new clues in 1998 11 years after Cathy was murdered they requested a DNA analysis on the remaining Seaman sample however experts were only able to extract a partial DNA profile which when compared to Greg's DNA showed that Greg was among the 2% of the population who could match the profile he could not be arrested based on this result the police again called Greg in for questioning telling him that the seen from Cathy's body matched his DNA Greg then changed his original statement saying that Cathy had been romantically involved with
him and that he had actually visited her on the day of the murder but Greg insisted that she was still alive when he left the police were suspicious of Greg's Sudden Change in story because suspects often change their stories when they hear about DNA evidence in addition Kathy had complained about Greg's flirtations feeling uncomfortable around him so it was unlikely that she would have had a secret relationship with him but the police knew that they could not convict without a perfect DNA match the local police reviewed the case and confirmed that a guilty verdict was
almost impossible and the case was put on hold again for many years in 2002 the police reopened the case and asked for help from forensic scientist Katherine long at the time Katherine was doing groundbreaking DNA research she and her colleagues wanted to know if the offender's DNA might still be on Cathy's body after the strangulation and if they could extract that DNA for analysis to test this Catherine and her team conducted a simulation experiment they followed the steps the perpetrators took by briefly strangling each other then taking samples from their hands and necks for analysis
the results showed that even in such a short interaction there were still enough skin cells to extract and analyze d DNA the police began to focus on the available evidence when they were unable to reexamine her body they decided to thoroughly examine all the items related to the case to see if the perpetrator had come into contact with them they quickly noticed the string of lights that the killer had used to tie Cathy's hands which the police gave to Catherine and her colleagues to examine as they began their work they noticed that the string had
been stored in a paper bag this was important because the paper bag allowed air to circulate preventing moisture buildup and protecting the biological samples experts use cotton swabs to collect biological samples from the entire length of the Rope they paid special attention to areas on the rope that still had traces of Cathy's blood after analysis they discovered two DNA profiles the first profile belonging to the victim Kathy the second profile completely matched Greg's DNA sample the police finally had evidence that Greg was the one who tied Cathy's hands and that he was the killer 15
years after Cathy's death the perpetrator was finally arrested during questioning Greg did not confess insisting that he had a romantic relationship with Cathy the police did not believe him while awaiting trial Greg was detained a cellmate of Greg's contacted the police and said that Greg had confessed to him according to the friend Greg told them the details of the attack and murder Greg said that one day he had been using illegal drugs and went to Cathy's house once inside Greg tried to to force Cathy to have sex but she refused and asked him to leave
however Greg became aggressive and attacked Cathy's daughter causing many serious injuries Greg assured Cathy that if she did not comply with his wishes he would kill her Cathy had no choice but to agree to protect her children Greg then tied her up attacked her and killed her with many injuries to cover up the crime Greg washed the blood off himself in the bathroom and changed into Cathy's husband's clothes before leaving the school the police forced Greg to face the truth this time Greg confessed to killing Kathy in 2004 he pleaded guilty in court and was
sentenced to 45 years in prison however he only served 4 years before dying at the age of 56 of liver cancer Kathy's husband Mike died at the age of 45.45 years Cathy's family including her parents and children waited patiently trusting that the police would find the killer although they believed Greg was the killer they saw him Contin to live with their second daughter but there was nothing they could do Hello friends Welcome to our Channel today we're going to take a look at another horrible case with you the case of Michaela Garrett Sharon merch and
her husband Rod Garrett had been trying to have a child for 5 years after numerous visits to doctors and fertility treatments they were Overjoyed when their daughter Michaela Garrett was born on January 24th 1979 in Oakland California her parents affectionately referred to her as their Miracle child child due to the difficulties they faced in conceiving her after that their family soon welcomed two new members a daughter named Libby and a son named Alex in 1986 the family relocated to Hayward where they settled down established their home and raised their children as a child Michaela was
known for being intelligent Lively and well- behaved she listened attentively to her parents and followed their advice closely Sharon was a caring and attentive mother sometimes it makes others feel like she was being overprotective of her children given the rise and child abductions in California during the 1980s her caution was understandable as a result she always kept her children close to home and ensured they were never far from adult supervision on Saturday November 19th 1988 Michaela finished breakfast with her family her best friend 9 years- Old Katrina Rodriguez stopped by to ask if Michaela could
accompany her to the local grocery store to buy snacks initially Sharon Michaela's mother refused permission however Michaela persisted assuring her mother that they would be safe and return quickly eventually Sharon relented and gave her permission to go with you as a precaution Sharon reminded they to be careful she gave Michaela $5 then the girls eagerly grabbed their scooters and left before leaving Michaela expressed her love for her mother as Sharon watched them leave her husband Rod decided to go outside and work on the car meanwhile Sharon headed back inside to to clean up the breakfast
dishes unbeknownst to her the next few minutes would alter her life forever Michaela and Katrina eagerly rode their scooters to the Rainbow Market on Mission Boulevard and parked them right outside the store the girls then entered the market to buy some snacks they purchased two Mountain Dew sodas two beef jerky sticks and two Cherry toffees before exiting the store engrossed in a conversation about their holiday plans they completely forgot about their scooters as they were about to leave the parking lot they suddenly remembered their scooters were still outside to their surprise the scooters was missing
the girls decided to split up and search for it Michaela spotted the scooter first it had been moved about three parking spaces away and was now standing beside a car without hesitation Michaela rushed over to the scooter and bent down to grab the handlebars in a rapid and unexpected turn of events a man leapt from the car and grabbed Michaela around her waist he then forcefully pushed her into the back seat Witness missing the shocking scene unfold Katrina momentarily froze her eyes fixed on the chaotic scene as her friends struggled to break free from the
abductor grasp the car sped away from the parking space accelerating down Mission Boulevard toward Union City regaining her composure Katrina rushed back into the store and alerted the cashier Rona Rolan about the kidnapping Rona quickly called the local police and they were quickly present at the crime scene additionally Rona also contacted Katrina's father and told them what had just happened to their daughter Sharon was doing the dishes at home when she heard a frantic shout from outside her husband Rod burst through the front door telling her that Michaela had just been kidnapped outside the Rainbow
Market along with Katrina's father they rushed to the store and found police everywhere questioning customers and staff Katrina was extremely upset and was allowed to go home with her father rod and Sharon stayed behind hoping to get some information about what had happened however as Shar Shon waited anxiously she couldn't shake off a growing sense of fear Sharon recalled a poem written by Michaela she also remembered an incident from the week before that had left her unsettled specifically Sharon had woken up early one morning to find Michaela sitting at The Breakfast Table writing in the
early hours Michaela's that she was writing a poem Sharon asking repeatedly what the poem was about Michaela finally explained that her poem was inspired by the noises she had heard coming from the attic that morning she had been thinking about people who were kidnapped and being held captive and her poem was about their experiences she explained that the poem actually referred to individuals who were being detained against their will rather than those who had been kidnapped and murdered Sharon found Michaela's poem to be disturbing and out of character as her daughter was typically a happy
person in hindsight Sharon believes that Michaela may have written the poem as a kind of Prophecy or premonition the police were provided with a description of the man who allegedly kidnapped Michaela Rona a cashier told them that the suspect was a white male in his 30s with a mustache she also reported that he drove a car that was either burgundy or maroon in color but was unable to provide details about the make or model according to Rona the man had parked his car and gotten out but instead of entering the store he looked through the
window observing the girls and other customers without entering she suspected he might be planning to rob the store a sketch artist created a composite picture then distributed to local police stations and news outlets the investigators found the scooter used in the abduction and collected it as evidence they obtained a handprint from the scooter handle which was added to their database to identify the kidnapper but it did not lead to any leads the day after the kidnapping the Federal Bureau of Investigation FBI joined the investigation they suspecting irrelevance between a series of local child kidnappings but
this was ultimately not confirmed police soon realized that Katrina could provide more information about the suspect since she was the main witness to the abduction 2 days after the incident investigators visited her home they spoke with her and her parents and the information she provided shocked them her description of the kidnapper greatly differed from the one provided by the store cashier Katrina described him as a young white male in his early 20s with dirty blonde hair severe acne scarring and blue eyes Katrina vividly recalled the suspect's eyes describing them to investigators as Fox eyes eyes
she explained that despite his look straight at her but he didn't seem to recognize her additionally she told investigators that the suspect's car was beige or tan in color box shaped and had noticeable body damage the new description raises concerns as it means The crucial 48 hours to find a suspect has been wasted on finding the person investigators reprinted posters with the new suspect's description and redistributed them throughout the area armed with this fresh information they began visiting local offenders inquiring about potential leads a large number of volunteers joined going door Todo and distributing posters
that detailed Michaela's clothing a white Metro t-shirt rolled up blue denim jeans black Mary Jane shoes and pearl colored feathered shaped earrings after searching the nearby suburbs but finding no sign of Michaela police expanded their search including the Garen National Park in Niles Canyon which are just a short distance from the she home this decision was prompted by a tip from three hikers who claim to have found footprints in the forest area belonging to one adult and one child upon following the tracks the hikers discovered a blanket and empty fast food containers a psychological analysis
of the kidnappers suggested they would likely take MAA to a secluded location to Aid in the search helicopters were equipped with infrared thermal cameras to detect heat signatures in the dense wooded areas police officers also combed the area on Horseback and on foot but these efforts did not produce any results unfortunately Michaela and her kidnappers seem to have vanished without a trace the search for Michaela made national headlines and her case was featured on prominent television programs such as Unsolved Mysteries and America's Most Wanted her photo was also distributed on milk cartons and the missing
Children's Program sent over 50 million mailing cards to homes across the country these cards included a picture of Michaela a description of her clothing and a composite sketch of the kidnapper San Francisco 49ers quarterback Joe Montana publicly showed his support for the Michaela family and urged the public to come forward with any information a $70,000 reward was offered for any information related to Michaela's disappearance within the first year the police received over 5,000 tips the majority of which were unfounded rumors despite this the community remained dedicated to finding Michaela Sharon conducted her own investigation and
found some clues some taking her as far as Russia but none produced any results a significant break in the case occurred between 1991 and 1992 when an inmate in Indiana provided authorities with crucial information regarding Michaela's disappearance Roger Haggard who was serving an 11-year sentence for burglary claimed to have helped a friend Barry Michaela's body in a gladiolus field in Union City at first the investigators were skeptical and did not think his claims were credible in enough to they be investigated further undeterred Roger decided to reach out to the media for help in 1992 he
wrote a letter to the San Francisco Chronicle stating that he knew who had kidnapped Michaela and where her body was buried he offered to lead investigators to the location H investigators brought Roger to California to testify before a grand jury Roger repeated his earlier claims under oath promised to lead investigators to Michaela's burial site and the home of her killer the next day a team of investigators accompanied Roger to the field where he claimed Michaela's body was buried after 8 hours of searching Roger confessed that his claim was false he explained that his intention was
to provide the Michaela family a sense of Peace after all these years this confession had even more serious consequences for Roger he was charged with perjury and received an additional 6 years prison sentence along with an order to pay $6,000 in Damages to Michaela's family for giving them false hope this development would not be the only one to shake the investigation authorities also kept an eye on another individual Lawrence binder 43 a wastewater treatment plant worker he appeared to be a normal man married with a family however suspicions were raised when investigators received a tip
from East Bay Area parents about his Disturbing Behavior these parents claimed that he had been sending gifts and money to young girls in an attempt to befriend them what's more some of the letters he wrote were written in reverse verse requiring the recipient to use a mirror to decipher their meaning as investigators dug deeper into Lawrence's past they found that he drove a distinctive light blue van with the license plate love you the interior of the van was peculiarly decorated with photos of small children children's drawings and Biblical verses furthermore Lawrence had a previous arrest
record for attempting to lure two young girls into his van although the charges were eventually dropped Lawrence often inserted himself into investigation of missing children for instance following the 1988 disappearance of Michaela he reached out to her mother Sharon he also contacted Kim Schwarz the mother of seven years- Old Amber Schwarz who went missing in June 1988 in both cases the mothers eventually told the police that they felt uneasy about Lawrence's persistence in contacting them and trying to stay updated on the developments in their daughter's cases after uncovering a series of unusual circumstances the investigation
LED authorities to suspect Lawrence of being involved in a series of child abductions when Amber went missing Lawrence wrote to the police predicting the next victim would be a 9 years old girl this proved true when Michaela missing Lawrence further raised suspicions when he sending a Christmas card with a picture of a girl holding up four fingers to an FBI profiler this incident took on a more ominous tone when four-year-old Amanda Campbell went missing on December 27th 1991 Lawrence was also linked to the disa appearance of Eileen melhoff a 13 years old girl from Dublin
California as Lawrence's name became associated with the string of child abductions he found himself under intense media scrutiny his unusual behavior and fascination with the cases sparked widespread public interest leading many people to suspect he was involved as a result Lawrence and his family faced harassment and public backlash however after Lawrence sued the City of Fairfield for defamation and won investiga began to reassess his role in the case it became clear that he was not as involved as initially thought and many believed he was simply trying to insert himself into the investigation despite the mystery
surrounding Lawrence the case remained a and complex challenge for investigators in addition there is a new suspect Curtis Dean Anderson he was arrested in August 2000 and subsequently linked to a series of heinous crimes after his arrest Anderson confessed to the 1999 abduction and murder of 7-year-old Zenna Fairchild from the LA hope California during a 2007 FBI interview Anderson made a shocking claim he had murdered 13 additional women and girls he also admitted to abducting and killing 7-year-old Amber Schwarz whom he had seen standing on a street corner however Curtis life ended abruptly on December
9th 2007 when he died due to kidney and liver failure this untimely death prevented investigators from Gathering more information about Curtis past crimes following his confession investigators looked into Curtis background and found in coincidence in 1989 he was pulled over in a brown 1977 Chevy sedan matched the vehicle description given by a witness named Katrina despite Curtis death his confession reignited interest in a more notorious case the kidnapping of Michaela the renewed investigation brought new attention and generated fresh leads however a new development in August 2012 shed more light on the case Wesley shermantine one
half of the notorious speed freaks Duo reached out to the Stockton Record after his accomp Loren Herzog took his own life in January that year Wesley pointed out that Loren was to Bear an uncanny resemblance to the suspect's composite in Michaela's case the resemblance between Loren and a kidnapper is further confirmed by Katrina's observations which indicate that Loren shares very similar characteristics to Michaela's kidnapper following a lead from Wesley investigators began Excavating a well in California where him and Loren was believed to have disposed of Michaela's Remains the excavation uncovered thousands of bone fragments some
likely belonging to Michaela although investigators never lost hope of solving the case the mystery continued to baffle them it wasn't until 8 years later that a useful clue finally emerged the circumstances surrounding Michaela's disappearance were horrifying and had an impact on the public however more shocking revelations were yet to come on December 21st 2020 the Hayward Police Department and FBI made a significant announcement in the Michaela case revealing a surprising development despite initial suspicions focusing on luren and Wesley but then investigators charged 61 years old David Garrick with Michaela's kidnapping and murder advances in technology
played a crucial role in solving the case by linking David's fingerprints to those found on Michaela's scooter 32 years earlier in 1988 David Mish has been charged with the murder of Michaela and is currently in custody at Santa Rita Jail in Alama County an examination of David's past reveals a disturbing pattern of crime that dates back to his teenage years born on February 19th 1961 in Chicago Illinois little is known about David's upbringing however by the age of 16 he had already become involved in criminal activities in 1977 he was convicted of breaking into a
house where he sexually assaulted a maid at knife point he was arrested and sentenced but was paroled just a year later in 1978 David's troubles with the law continued in February 1979 he was arrested for charges of false imprisonment and assault with a deadly weapon which were later updated to assault with intent to rape despite this he became eligible for parole in September 1981 years later in May 1988 David was arrested for burglary at a San Leandro grocery store he was sentenced to one year in prison and one year of probation in November of the
same year he was released from custody after 6 months however his luck eventually ran out in December 1988 that year a tragic incident happened to his longtime friend Margaret ball who was 38 years old she often helped him in times of need but the nature of their relationship took a drastic turn Margaret's dead body was discovered by her stepdaughter in a pool of blood brutally beaten and stabbed the crime scene was particularly gruesome with Margaret's front tooth found a few feet away from her body due to the severity of the beating the police were led
to David as the primary suspect after discovering evidence linking him to the crime he was arrested and eventually convicted of Margaret's murder while David was already serving time for Margaret's murder new evidence led to additional charges against him in 2018 he was sentenced to 18 years to life for Margaret's murder a DNA analysis later implicated David in two murders that occurred in Fremont California in 1986 two young women Michelle Xavier 18 and her best friend Jennifer dwey 20 had gone out to celebrate a family member's birthday dinner on February 2nd 1986 after leaving the restaurant
they stopped at a convenience store however shortly after midnight their bodies were found on the side of the road by a motorcyclist the scene revealed a disturbing and violent crime the women women were stripped naked they had been stabbed and shot an autopsy later revealed that they had also been sexually assaulted the Cara shell was driving was discovered 6 miles away from the crime scene in a grocery store parking lot Michaela's case was forgotten for many years due to lack of Clues and information however 32 years later advances in DNA technology LED detectives to a
suspect David Garrick he is currently serving Time faces additional charges including three counts of murder and one count of abduction which could result in the death penalty Chief Hayward vowed to continue the search for Michaela's body and remains hopeful that she will be found Michaela's father Rod Garrick traveled over a 100 miles to attend a recent press conference he expressed the sense of relief knowing that the police have caught suspect the authorities have a suspect to question and hopefully this person will provide information about Michaela's whereabouts Sharon Michaela's mother was unable to attend a press
conference to her ongoing battle with metastatic cancer police chief Hayward read a statement on her behalf which revealed her struggle to accept the reality of her daughter's fate in the past year she had to accept the likelihood that Michaela was no longer alive however she found comfort in imagining her in a peaceful afterlife sitting on clouds walking on golden streets dancing on hills and soaring Among the Stars Bernie Castillo the attorney for David has been vocal about the case and strongly criticizes the investigation ation methods used to charge his client he dismisses the evidence as
junk science and finds it implausible that a handprint match was suddenly found after 32 years Bernie believes the police are trying to pin the blame solely on David as a convenient way to close the case meanwhile Katrina Michaela's close friend and witness to the case has been carrying guilt over still remembers the tragic incident that occurred that Saturday morning she feels that it should have been her as the scooter that was moved belonged to her this burden of guilt has caused Katrina to suppress memories of her childhood in contrast Sharon Michaela's mother dedicated her life
to finding her daughter initially she waited anxiously for news at the telephone and later turned to the internet for answers however after David was charged with Michaela's murder Sharon's fight for justice began to fade due to her cancer diagnosis she eventually passed away in May 2022 finding solace in the fact that she would soon be reunited with her daughter a new twist has arisen in the complicated case of David who is currently awaiting trial for his alleged involvement in the kidnapping and murder of Michaela as well as the murders of Michelle and Jennifer the search
for justice for Michaela has been going on for decades but may now face a significant obstacle it seems David the suspect might not face the severity of the punishment for the allegations against him in contrast David's defense attorney Ernie viewed the news as validation stating that each case against David relies on questionable forensic tactics Ernie was not surprised by the decision as it confirms his long-held belief that the prosecution's case has significant weaknesses others however disagree with the decision Chuck Oiler a retired lieutenant who worked on another case involving David believed he should receive the
maximum sentence for his crimes David is currently awaiting trial for three counts of murder and one count of kidnapping his case is closely tied to the mysterious disappearance of Michaela a story filled with unexpected twists and turns however the investigation was marred by an initial case of mistaken identity leading police to waste valuable time in the first two days as a result Michaela's family was left searching for answers for decades hi everyone thanks for returning let's unravel another perplexing mystery the case of Michelle Hadley Michelle Hadley was born on December 20th 1986 in Upland California
she is the eldest daughter of a business family and was raised in a strict conservative family Michelle grew up with a younger sister and had a close relationship with her parents during her school Years Michelle led a relatively normal life Michelle's friends describe her as polite and kind with a straightforward personality who always says what she thinks Whenever there are disagreements she tries to resolve them Michelle was diligent from a young age consistently completing her tasks and responsibilities during her high school years she was in a long-term relationship with a boyfriend the couple were together
for many years and finally decided to get married in 2008 however she soon discovered that marriage did not bring her the happiness she had hoped for after 4 years the couple's relationship began to deteriorate and they eventually decided to divorce in 2013 Michelle's life took a turn for the better when she met Ian Diaz who was 9 years her for Michelle the relationship felt like Destiny Ian was a US Marshall and Michelle worked in marketing initially seemed well suited to each other the two met through an online dating site and after a whirlwind romance they
decided to move in together by the fall of 2014 Ian proposed to Michelle and they started making wedding plans initially their marriage seemed perfect however Ian's true nature slowly began to emerge at first Michelle didn't noticed the changes in Ian's behavior and attributed his actions to personality as time went on Ian's personality changed for the worse he became more destructive to himself and emotionally hurtful to Michelle causing her to be shocked devastated and extremely confused Michelle came from a conservative family and Ian would sometimes ask her to wear revealing clothes that made her feel uncomfortable
despite her reservations Michelle went along with her husband's requests thinking he was just trying to spice up their relationship however Ian noticed that she gave in easily and began making even more daring requests eventually Ian asked Michelle to get her belly button pierced a request she was initially hesitant about but ultimately agreed to however Ian increasingly pushed the limits his requests began to become more and more strange he asked Michelle to quit her marketing job and work at Disneyland a place he loved and had previously worked at as a deputy US Marshal perhaps Ian wanted
to keep an eye on his wife and working somewhere where he still had a relationship made sense to him Ian Justified his suggestion by saying he wanted Michelle to be safer but in reality he was seeking greater control over her life initially Michelle found the request peculiar but driven by her love for her husband and her desire to please he she agreed however as time passed Michelle began to feel uneasy about the arrangement she found herself becoming a different person one that she no longer recognized she then confided in her husband but instead of listening
to her he became angry and violent afterward Michelle and Ian decided to purchase a condominium together hoping that owning a home would strengthen their bond this decision was made about 2 years after they first met the couple began their search for a condo in 2015 and eventually found one they liked in downtown Anaheim although it was slightly more expensive than they had budgeted for at $470,000 at the time of the purchase Michelle had no idea that Ian didn't plan to contribute to the mortgage payments when the first payment was due Ian claimed he was experiencing
financial difficulties but he assured Michelle that he would pay the next month's installment she proceeded with the $144,000 down payment she handled the paperwork and finalized the purchase thinking everything was in order however in retrospect it was clear that their relationship was already deteriorating the situation worsened after they bought the condo although the deed had both of their names on it it became evident that Ian wanted the condo for himself while Michelle was the only one shouldering the mortgage payment one summer evening in 2015 Michelle and Ian got into a violent altercation in the car
Ian physically attacked Michelle causing minor injuries in the aftermath Michelle composed a distressing email to her sister detailing the events but unfortunately never sent it as the summer Drew to a close nearly 2 months after purchasing their condo Michelle decided to leave Ian and move in with her parents despite no longer living in the condo Michelle was still responsible for paying the mortgage this decision would later become a contentious issue in their relationship in fact Ian continued to skip the mortgage payments infuriating Michelle around this time Michelle had stepped down from her high-paying job and
was working at Disneyland a position she disliked furthermore her new job paid significantly less than her previous one in an attempt to address the mortgage issue amicably Michelle reached out to Ian via email phone calls and texts however he deliberately ignored her message which escalated the situation the tension between them reached a boiling point prompting Michelle to confront Ian in person Ian's answer was shocking he never planned to pay the mortgage which made Michelle Furious Michelle found herself in a difficult situation and decided to take action she emailing Ian warning him that his behavior would
have serious consequences if he continued however this email only made Ian angrier and he responded by filing a restraining order against Michelle the police did not fully support Ian's request as they determined he shared some blame in the matter when Michelle discovered Ian's request to obtain a restraining order she countered by pointing out his failure to pay the mortgage on their jointly owned condominium to resolve the issue they agreed to hire property lawyers and eventually came to a settlement the Court ruling ultimately favored Michelle ordering Ian to pay the outstanding Mortgage Balance if Ian failed
to comply he would face an additional penalty although the ruling was unfavorable for Ian he had no choice but to abide by the Court's decision this situation dragged on for a year and by 2016 Michelle and Ian had officially separated this marked A New Beginning for Michelle freeing her from a toxic relationship in contrast Ian remained bitter about the outcome continuing to live in the condo and pay the mortgage Ian's life had become increasingly complicated due to the condo situation so he decided to start using dating apps again to try to move on this was
how he met Angela Connell a woman he thought was perfect for him Angela was born in 1985 in Phoenix Arizona she attended a Catholic High School and later graduated from Arizona State University in 2006 Ian and Angela met in January 2016 and they immediately have feelings for each other their relationship progressed quickly Ian proposed within a month and soon Angela moved into his condo it seemed as if they were meant to be together by May 2016 Angela announced she was expecting twins which made Ian incredibly happy however their happiness was shortlived when Angela received an
threatening Anonymous email saying she was not the right person for Ian Angela was taken aback by the message and initially suspected it might be from her ex-boyfriend Jason Raburn with whom she had a tumultuous relationship before marrying Ian however something didn't add up she had cut off all contact with Jason after their breakup so he doesn't know about her new relationship with Ian it wasn't until Ian brought up the topic of the condo which was purchased by his ex Michelle that Angela realized Michelle might be the one sending the messages as time passed Angela received
more emails from different accounts the emails all contained similar information but were worded differently intrigued Angela responded to one of the messages asking the sender to reveal their identity to her surprise the sender claimed to be Michelle Hadley Angela demanded that Michelle stop contact ing her but the emails continued the tone of the subsequent emails escalated leaving Angela feeling threatened and fearful for her life afterward she decided not to take any chances and sought a restraining order against Michelle the incident took place on June 1st 2016 Angela stated to the police that an email from
Michelle had left her feeling fearful and anxious she expressed concern about leaving her home due to the threatening content of the emails and she feared being attacked or killed did so in response to the severity of the situation the court granted a restraining order against Michelle a short time later in June 2016 Michelle seemed to have moved past the Troubles of her previous relationship one evening after meeting a friend she returned home to find a team of police officers waiting for her in her driveway Michelle was taken aback but cooperated peacefully with the officers and
was taken in for questioning regarding a restraining charge during the interrogation Michelle denied knowing Angela or sending the threatening emails mentioned by the officers she claimed she was being framed citing two alerts she received a week earlier the first was from Google stating her email account had been shut down the second was from Microsoft stating her primary email was being used as a recovery email for multiple unknown email addresses Michelle reported this suspicious activity to the Anaheim Police Department suspecting her ex-husband of impersonating her however her concerns were dismissed by the police who believed Michelle
was lying as a result a restraining order was issued against Michelle but she was unaware that this was just the start of a more complex situation things took a dark turn after Michelle was served with a restraining order however things became more intense Angela soon receiving emails responding to a Craigslist ad that she hadn't posted herself the disturbing ads described a sexual coercion fantasy and included intimate details about Angela's life the the emails contained her phone number condo address and even the breed of her dog it was clear that someone had created an account in
her name but what was particularly unsettling was how they had access to such precise information Ian and Michelle were the only ones who knew Angela's condo address she suspected Michelle but thought that was unlikely fear had taken over her so much that she didn't even want to leave her house the thought of someone knowing her address and watching her all the time made her extremely uneasy not knowing who was behind it made her feel even more scared on June 24th 2016 just days after posting the Craigslist ad Angela was attacked and her life was put
in danger bruises covered her neck her clothes were torn and she had a severe head injury from being slammed into a wall despite her condition Angela quickly called 911 when the police arrived they questioned her about the assault and Angela revealed that Michelle was her attacker this time the police decided to take stronger action against Michelle they believed that a restraining order would not be enough to protect Angela and they made the decision to arrest Michelle while Michelle was in jail she managed to contact her parents who were conservative her parents were determined to handle
the situation discreetly they posted Michelle's bail of $10,000 made possible by their financial stability as successful business owners Angela started receiving harassing emails after the incidents interestingly the email she received came from Michelle personal email address however it's unclear if Michelle actually sent them on July 13th Angela contacted 911 because she saw a strange man outside her condo when the police arrived the man claimed he was responding to a Craigslist ad posted under Angela's name that featured explicit content further investigation led the police to discover that the ad was created from an account linked to
Michelle this raised questions about Michelle's potential involvement and whether she may have provided false information to the police on the other hand it's possible that someone was using Michelle's name to mislead the authorities the next day on July 14th Michelle was arrested again with bails set at $1 million an amount her parents couldn't afford to pay Michelle strongly denied sending the emails and creating the Craigslist ads her parents believed her because they knew she wouldn't send threats to anyone concerned about the potential consequences Michelle's parents hired a lawyer thinking that the person behind the threat
could continue to get their daughter arrested while Michelle was in jail for the second time the threats and emails aimed at Angela stopped again for 3 months everything seemed calm for Angela meanwhile Michelle's parents were trying to figure out who was impersonating their daughter they gathered their daughter's records including school and hospital records to see if they could find any weaknesses in the case against her this led them to find important evidence Michelle was in the hospital on the same day the first emails were sent making it impossible for her to have sent them herself
Michelle's parents were given New Hope when they received an update about her situation they had been trying to track down the source of the emails they were receiving which had encrypted IP addresses to do this Michelle's father downloaded various software programs to help identify the senders then in a surprising turn of events her parents received a call with some unexpected news Michelle's baale had been posted the surprising twist was that the person who posted the one million doll bail was Ian the same person who had been treating Michelle badly this took place on September 30th
2016 when Ian presented the police with the bail money Michelle and her family were stunned by this development and couldn't understand why Ian would do such a thing they had many unanswered questions about his motives was he trying to make amends for his past Behavior or was there another reason behind his actions after Michelle's release on bail she and her family sought answers Ian then revealed shocking information claiming Angela had framed Michelle for sending threatening emails Angela allegedly used fake email accounts in Michelle's name to send the emails to herself Angela also posted ads on
Craig's List making it seem like Michelle was responsible the details in the ads could only have been known by Ian and Angela further investigation revealed that Angela's bruises found on June 24th 2016 were self-inflicted Ian discovered CCTV footage that supported this claim Ian also uncovered Angela's history of deception she had been lying since the day they met and one notable example was her fake pregnancy Ian found evidence that Angela had bought a fake sonogram of twins on Etsy for $7.50 and a positive pregnancy test kit to support her fabricated story Angela's motivation to ruin Michelle's
life stems from her meeting with Ian in 2015 Ian frequently discussed Michelle in an incident involving a condo this sparked angel 's curiosity prompting her to investigate Michelle's past she discovered that Michelle came from a wealthy background which led Angela to view her as an opportunity for personal gain Ian who was married to Michelle at the time sought Revenge due to a past dispute over the condo's mortgage the incident had left him feeling bitter and he was Furious about being forced to pay the mortgage following Michelle's counter suit together Angela and Ian devised a plan
to bring Michelle down Ian shared Michelle's email address with Angela and they began plotting to frame her and have her arrested in an effort to conceal their scheme Angela and Ian created separate email addresses to communicate with each other they also opened six fake email accounts in Michelle's name using virtual private networks vpns this is the reason Michelle noticed Google Alerts about email addresses in her name that she had not created unbeknownst to Michelle Angela was Behind These suspicious activities when Michelle got a restraining order against she still felt it wasn't enough because she wanted
Michelle Gone Forever Angela devised a plan to escalate the situation further she created a fake Craigslist profile in Michelle's name posting an ad that invited men to engage in a sex act at Michelle's home however the flaws in the plan led to Ian Angela's husband confessing the truth once the truth came to light the police secured a search warrant for Angela's devices to their amazement when they checked Angela's belongings they discovered that everything Ian said was true a total of 21 threatening emails were discovered with most being sent from Angela and Ian's residents further investigation
of the emails revealed that some were sent from Arizona it was ultimately discovered that Angela had visited her father in Arizona during the same period the emails were sent after discovering these shocking evidence investigators decided to look into Angela's past they soon found that she had committed similar crimes before in 2013 Angela had faked her identity in a serious illness while dating Jason Raburn a California state trooper Angela claimed to be an attorney and said she had cervical cancer however her story didn't add up and Jason became suspicious he dug deeper and made a disturbing
Discovery Angela had lied about having cancer and being a lawyer this ended her relationship with Jason the deception wasn't made public until 2019 nearly 3 years later on January 6th 2019 Angela was detained she pleaded guilty to 10 felonies including perjury and false imprisonment she was sentenced to 5 years in prison the Orange County District Attorney's Office quickly cleared Michelle's name of the wrongful charges 3 Days Later Michelle's assault and threatening charges were officially dropped this marked the end of a long and painful ordeal for Michelle although the ordeal has ended Michelle still Bears the
scars of her wrongful conviction including the time she spent in jail she had to give up her MBA classes and lost her job after being wrongfully arrested after the charges were cleared Michelle's life began to improve she earned her MBA and got a good job in marketing at a Cosmetics company she then moved to New York to live with her sister and her life was better than ever Ian on the other hand separated from Angela and sold their condo for $500,000 however in 2021 Ian's life took a turn for the worse he was arrested and
chared charged with planning carrying out the plot to frame Michelle as a result he received a 5-year prison sentence and was convicted of perjury Hello friends Welcome to our Channel today we're going to take a look at another horrible case with you the case of Natalie Holloway 18-year-old Natalie Holloway who disappeared while on a trip to Aruba an island in the Southern Caribbean Sea near Venezuela in May 2005 a group of 124 students from Mountain Brook High School accompanied by chaperon traveled to Aruba to celebrate the start of their adult lives the students stayed at
the Holiday Inn and had access to beaches palm trees restaurants and local entertainment venues they spent five Unforgettable days on the island enjoying themselves with swimming sunbathing dancing and partying however on the day of their return Natalie Holloway was nowhere to be found her belongings phone and passport were still in the hotel but she had vanished her mother Elizabeth Twitty was the first to raise the alarm and reported her concerns to one of the chaperon Elizabeth recalled that at that moment her heart sent something was wrong as her daughter was obedient and always stayed in
touch Natalie's mother and stepfather immediately flew to Aruba to search for her upon arriving Elizabeth was able to find out more information than the police did as the authorities seemed uninterested in starting a search the police told Elizabeth that cases like this are not rare and that people often miss their planes or get lost in bars or with new acquaintances however Elizabeth knew her daughter and was convinced that something was seriously wrong Natalie Holloway was last seen leaving Carlos and Charlie's nightclub with 17-year-old Jan a local regular who had offered her a drink they left
with two other young men in a silver Honda car for hours later Natalie's Mother Elizabeth contacted the police again with concerning information leading to the Detention of the trio initially vandas slot denied knowing Natalie but later admitted to leaving the bar with her they drove around visited the beach and then dropped her off near the hotel his friends Deepu and sces CPO confirmed his account Natalie was born on October 21st 1986 in Clinton Mississippi to Elizabeth and and David Edward Holloway her parents loved each other dearly but divorced after 13 years Natalie and her brother
stayed with their mother but their father remained supportive emotionally and financially in 2000 Elizabeth remarried to George Twitty and Natalie moved to Mountain Brook the move was smooth and she made new friends easily due to her sociable nature her family was devout attending church every Sunday which influenced Natalie's upbringing relatives remembered her as kind modest and beautiful with a radiant smile Natalie was an excellent student engaged in dance and participated in various clubs she dreamed of pursuing a career in medicine and had chosen a local University for a substantial scholarship at the time she had
promising life prospects and was excited about an upcoming trip Elizabeth believed her daughter was unlikely to trust a stranger or get into a car with him surveillance footage from the bar confirmed her suspicions showing Natalie's behavior changed after drinking a beverage offered by Jan suggesting she was under the influence of some substance the staff at Carlos and Charlie spoke well of Natalie but vanda's slot had a questionable reputation often behaving poorly indulging in gambling and consuming forbidden substances he had previously recorded and uploaded videos of his exploits to the internet but was never held accountable
due to his father's influence as a well-known lawyer aiming for a judgeship The Disappearance of Natalie sparked a nationwide search with the island authorities launching an extensive operation to find her volunteers divers and specially trained dogs were deployed to cover a vast area the government even declared a public holiday and 50 Marines homeed the coastline an airplane equipped with thermal imaging scanned over 40 km of terrain but Natalie seemed to have vanished Into Thin Air on June 30th investigators discovered that there was no footage of Natalie entering a building which contradicted the statements of Jan
and the CPO Brothers the police brought them in for questioning again and this time the younger vanda's slot unexpectedly changed his story he claimed to have dropped Natalie off at a location without surveillance not near the hotel and at added that he saw a figure in Black moving towards her hotel security staff who were on duty that night were detained with investigators suspecting they might have intercepted Natalie on her way on June 9th detectives arrested the suspicious Trio and one of the security guards shared a cell with the CPO Brothers the guard learned a crucial
detail sedes confessed that he and Deepu had lied to cover for their friend leaving Jan alone with Natalie on the beach the security guards were released on June 13th and on June 7 17th another suspect Steve Gregory Cruz a DJ was detained the police suspected his involvement in Natalie's disappearance on June 22nd paulus vanda's slot was brought in for questioning and detained but he was released on June 26th due to insufficient evidence Jan offered a third explanation of the events trying to shift the blame onto the CPO Brothers claiming he parted ways with Natalie near
his home and she left with them however his story was not taken seriously a lawyer defended sedes and Deepu and on July 4th after a brief trial the CPO brothers were released Jan vandas [ __ ] born on August 6th 1987 in Arnhem Netherlands was one of three brothers in a large family he was a good student excelled in sports and planned to attend St Leo University in Florida Jan's childhood was marked by a strained relationship with his mother Anita an art teacher who considered him an incubator liar he grew up rebellious often ran away
from home and fell in with a bad crowd developing a pension for gambling despite this he presented himself as cool and fearless to his friends locals were suspicious of Jan's lenient attitude fearing it would lead to trouble however he was popular among girls and often took advantage of them as the investigation into the suspects continued the search for Natalie persisted us authorities closely monitored the progress and provided substantial financial support despite the scrutiny the Holloway family was desperate to find their daughter alive and announced a monetary reward which initially started at $50,000 as hope dwindled
the reward increased to $1 million additionally $100,000 was offered for information leading to the location of her remains which later increased to $250,000 during this time the investigation hit several dead ends however after the reward announcement new Witnesses emerged one claimed to have seen Jan with the CPO Brothers at a local night spot between 2.30 and 3:00 a.m. another witness claimed to have seen several suspicious men hiding a woman's body at a dump on the afternoon of May 30th however these statements led the investigation astray and after numerous checks their claims were not corroborated on
August 26th the police detained the kpo brothers and another young man but these actions were unrelated to the case the arrest was more about intimidation and an attempt attempt to get them to talk ultimately on September 3rd 2005 all four were released on bail a week and a half later the court removed all restrictions and prohibitions as none provided any substantial leads to the investigation Jan Vander [ __ ] was detained for 3 months but after his release he sought to capitalize on his notoriety by giving interviews and appearing on TV shows in these appearances
he claimed that Natalie Holloway had flirted with him and offered to have sex but he declined because he didn't have a condom however during one show he became aggressive and threw a glass at the interviewer a journalist who was targeted by Jan's glass throwing incident held a grudge against him and worked with authorities to place a bug in a friend's car the bug captured Jan confessing to witnessing Natalie's death he claimed that they had sex on the beach but afterward she began shaking lost Consciousness and eventually died Jan and a friend then disposed of her
body at Sea despite this confession Jan managed to avoid consequences by denying the statement on another TV show claiming he had only told his friend what he wanted to hear in 2007 Jan released a book the Case of Natalie Holloway my own account of her Disappearance in Aruba in which he presented his side of the story and apologized to Natalie's family by this time the official investigation had largely stalled in 2008 two new Witnesses came forward the first reported seeing Jan and his father on the beach around 4:00 a.m. on the night Natalie went missing
the younger Vander [ __ ] appeared disheveled and the witness saw him arguing with his father in a car before they drove away however Paulis Vander [ __ ] had an alibi for the night in question the second witness was Jan's former girlfriend who recalled that Jan had once made a suspicious comment about being able to dispose of someone's body however this was not considered a strong lead given Jan's history of lying and exaggeration Jan and the CPO brothers were detained multiple times but released due to lack of evidence the Holloway family hired a private
investigator who along with Natalie's father conducted their own investigation interviewing locals and searching the landfill during this time they uncovered several oversights by the local police including failure to interview Natalie's classmates or hotel room neighbors it was also discovered that someone had used Natalie's hotel Key several times on the night of her disappearance and that her mobile phone and toothbrush had been left behind a male DNA was found on her toothbrush the investigation ultimately revealed that the Aruban authorities had been negligent in their handling of the case Jan's father paulus died of a heart attack
in 2010 reportedly due to the stress and shame of his son's actions after his father's death Jan attempted to Blackmail the Holloway family offering to reveal the truth for $250,000 the family agreed to meet with him and paid in advance of $25,000 during the meeting Jam provided yet another version of events claiming that Natalie had resisted his advances which enraged him and that he had pushed her causing her to hit her head and lose Consciousness he then buried her body in a building Foundation however the police investigation revealed that Jan's claims were false as the
house he pointed to had long been built and its foundation was fully set at the time of Natalie's disappearance Jan fled to Peru with the money but unfortunately the consequences did not C catch up with him immediately on June 1st 2010 the body of 21-year-old Stephanie Flores Ramirez was discovered in a hotel room in Lima Peru she had been severely beaten and the cause of her death was determined to be a neck fracture surveillance cameras quickly helped identify the criminal and soon after Jan was arrested and taken to the police station he explained that he
had met Stephanie at a casino and after playing poker they decided to continue their acquaintance in his hotel room however when Stephanie accessed his laptop and discovered his connection to Natalie Holloway's death she became frightened and wanted to leave Jan realized what had alarmed her became enraged and struck her until she died Jan was captured on his way to Chile and confessed to the crime on the fourth day of his arrest the news shocked residents in the US especially as it occurred exactly 5 years after Natalie's disappearance Elizabeth Twitty expressed her grief noting that Justice
had finally been served albeit at the cost of another life Jan was sentenced to 28 years in prison on January 11th 2012 for the premeditated crime against Stephanie Flores Ramirez he was also ordered to pay $775,000 in compensation to the Ramirez family in 2014 Jan was transferred from pedis gordis prison to Chalet Pala prison where he met a Peruvian woman who visited another inmate in 2010 they got married but it turned out Jan was using her for his own purposes he showed no signs of remorse or guilt for his actions meanwhile in June 2011 David
Holloway filed a petition in an Alabama Court to have his daughter Natalie who had gone missing in 2005 declared legally deceased Natalie's mother opposed this hoping that Jan would confess to the crime and face trial after a hearing judge alen king rolled in favor of the Declaration on January 12th 2012 on June 8th 2023 Jam was extradited to the United States and placed in Hoover City Jail in Alabama the next day he was charged with extortion and wire fraud but he pleaded not guilty however on October 18th 2023 he entered a plea agreement admitting to
murdering Natalie Holloway he confessed to fatally bludgeoning her with a cinder block on May 30th 2005 and disposing of her body in the ocean for sharks to consume unfortunately the confession made as part of the plea deal could not be used in court Jan was sentenced to 20 years which would run concurrently with his prison term in Peru Natalie Holloway's disappearance remains one of the most notorious missing person cases in the US and it is still an open case in Aruba a series of coverups corrupt deals and bureaucratic delays effectively allowed the murder of an
innocent young woman to go unpunished despite Global attention to the investigation Hello friends Welcome to our Channel today we're going to take a look at another horrible case with you the case of Sierra yugan Sierra yugan was a bright and cheerful young woman who spread joy and laughter wherever she went her adventurous nature and ability to find humor in any situation made her a delight to be around even when she made mistakes as she entered High School Sierra's confidence and enthusiasm only grew she fearlessly tried out new experiences including volleyball and showed remarkable Poise both
on and off the court after returning from a family vacation on July 19th 2016 Sierra was excited to start the new semester at the University of Toledo where she had plans to study abroad she had recently bought a new bike and was eager to take it for a spin her mom wanted to discuss her study abroad plans with her but Sierra decided to visit her boyfriend Josh's house which was 7.12 Mi away beforehand Sierra left her house in High Spirits wearing shorts and a tank top and promised her mom she would be back by 10:05
p.m. however when Josh tried to reach her later her phone went straight to voicemail alarmed Josh called Sierra's mom who immediately sensed that something was wrong Sierra's family including her aunt and Josh mounted a search effort to locate her after she went missing they thoroughly searched the neighborhood suspecting she might have been involved in an accident despite their efforts they didn't find any clues or signs of Sierra's whereabouts As Time passed Sierra's family became increasingly worried her mom eventually contacted the police who arrived about an hour later a concerned neighbor informed the family that County
Road 6 was blocked off and they rushed to the scene there they found a chaotic atmosphere and officers who wouldn't allow them to pass the officers weren't able to provide any information leaving Sierra's family in a state of panic in desperation they decided to seek help from the FBI as the night wore on Sierra's family was left to wonder what had happened to their daughter unable to rest due to their growing concern the next day Sierra's Mom and Aunt started searching for her by calling hospitals looking for any unidentified females although they didn't find anything
they got a promising lead from Detroit Michigan a young woman who looked a lot like Sierra was in the hospital after escaping from a moving vehicle with serious injuries to confirm her identity a nurse asked Sierra's family to describe any distinctive marks on her body Sierra's mom mentioned a scar on her calf and her pierced belly button the woman in the hospital seemed to match Sierra's description giving the family hope that they had finally found her however their hopes were soon dashed when they discovered that the woman in the hospital was not Sierra after all
the family was devastated to learn that the person found wasn't Sierra as they had pinned their hopes on it being her later that morning police officers came to Sierra's house to update them on the previous night's events one of the officers had discovered a disturbed cornfield near the area while parking his car he noticed signs of a struggle in inside the cornfield and found a motorcycle track to avoid contaminating potential evidence he retreated without touching anything as he retreated he caught a glimpse of something shiny that turned out to be Sierra's purple bike further investigation
revealed several items at the scene including male and female sunglasses a bloody sock and a screwdriver based on these findings the police believed that Sierra had likely been abducted from that location detectives investigating Sierra's disappearance interviewed her friends and family to learn more about her boyfriend Josh they found out that Sierra and Josh had been close friends since childhood starting from when they were just 7 years old as they grew older their friendship turned into a romantic relationship in their first year of high school and they became known for being a happy and adventurous couple
skiing was one of their shared hobbies and they would often go skiing together after high school Sierra went to the University of Toledo while Josh attended Bowling Green despite the physical distance between them they remained committed to each other and would often talk about getting married someday however Sierra wanted to focus on her education before settling down showing how dedicated she was to her studies despite the challenges of being a part their relationship remained strong and serious on July 19th detectives learned that Sierra had visited Josh's house in the early afternoon she left his house
around 6:30 p.m. to return home and Josh concerned for her safety accompanied her on his motorcycle for part of the way however after a few miles Sierra insisted that Josh turn around and let her ride her bike the rest of the way home alone Josh reluctantly agreed and they parted ways Josh headed back on his motorcycle while Sierra continued riding her bike during the investigation into Sierra's disappearance detectives found motorcycle tracks in the corn stalks near Sierra's bike this discovery raised a key question did these tracks come from Josh's motor motorcycle the detectives couldn't ignore
this potential connection and began investigating further to see if they could link Josh to the scene of Sierra's disappearance they set up a command post to gather and analyze any relevant Clues a promising lead emerged quickly a local resident came forward saying he had found a motorcycle helmet on the side of the road on July 14th while driving he picked it up and stored it in his truck after learning about Sierra's disappearance he examined the helmet more closely and discovered red stains that appeared to be blood the helmet was found in the same general area
where Sierra's bike was discovered in the cornfield the detectives asked Josh about his motorcycle helmet and to their relief he produced it confirming he had it with him they also verified his Alibi by speaking with his parents like ruling him out as a suspect although visibly shaken Sierra's family never considered Josh responsible for her disappearance the detectives were determined to identify the owner of the bloodstained helmet recognizing the significance of DNA evidence they sent the helmet to the crime lab for testing anticipating a potential breakthrough the detectives waited patiently for the results hoping it would
lead them closer to solving the case the news of Sierra's disappearance spread quickly throughout the town prompting the community to come together to search for her citizens joined forces organizing search parties that scoured every possible area searching for any clue that could lead to her whereabouts as the town people worked tirelessly to bring Sierra home safely they felt a strong sense of unity to show their support the community organized a candlelight vigil at the local high school the atmosphere was emotional filled with grief hope and determination hundreds of people gathered holding candles and sending their
thoughts and prayers for Sierra's safe return after 2 days of Investigation the police received a tip about a suspicious van scene speeding through the area they suspected that Sierra might have been taken in the van man possibly falling victim to sex trafficking the police received a tip about a license plate number linked to a van that was speeding through the area where Sierra went missing they interviewed the van's owner who explained that he had sped up because another vehicle had suddenly approached from behind possibly a family member searching for Sierra this had startled him causing
him to quickly leave the area which may have given the impression that he was involved in Sierra's disappearance after 48 Hours of Investigation the police had no lead on Sierra's whereabouts as each day passed her family's hopes of finding her alive were dwindling the police continued their door-to-door search which eventually LED them to a nearby farm that belonged to James warley the farm had several structures including a house a trailer and a large barn the police questioned James warley about the day Sierra disappeared hoping to get any information that could help them find her to
the detective's surprise James revealed that he had been riding his motorcycle on the day Sierra went missing however he claimed that his bike had broken down causing him to lose some items including a screwdriver and his helmet the detectives were stunned as these were the same items found at the scene of Sierra's abduction this Revelation raised significant suspicions about James the detectives were determined to investigate further and question James about Sierra's disappearance they noticed scratches on his face indicating that he had been involved in a struggle this discovery only increased their suspicions and raised more
questions they wondered if the scratches were the result of a confrontation with Sierra the detectives decided to investigate james' background hoping to uncover relevant information what they discovered sent chills down their spines James had a dark criminal history including a previous attempt to abduct a 26-year-old woman named Robin gter on July 4th 1989 on that day Robin was getting ready for a neighborhood picnic when she decided to go for a bike ride as she Road she became thirsty and contemplated returning home however before she could make that decision a car approached from behind and collided
with her bike the impact sent Robin flying into a nearby ditch the driver who later turned out to be James approached Robin and asked if she was okay however he soon revealed Sinister intentions striking her in the back of the head and threatening her life with a screwdriver he forced her into his car attempting to handcuff her Robin resisted fiercely preventing him from securing the second cuff despite being on the verge of losing Consciousness Robin continued to fight she screamed for help but her cries were drowned out by the desolate corn fields just as she
was about to give up she heard a motorcycle approaching the rider noticed her distress and stopped to help Robin escaped by climbing onto the back of the motorcycle leaving her captor behind the motorcyclist drove Robin home where she collapsed her mother called the police in an ambulance and Robin was rushed to the hospital the motorcyclist then led the police back to the scene where they found James still present with his car James cooperated fully providing identification but his account of the events differed significantly from the truth he denied any intention of abducting Robin but the
detectives were not convinced James warley claimed that he had to restrain Robin with handcuffs after a bike accident to prevent her from harming herself not to harm her he said he was concerned about her well-being and wanted to get her help however James had a dark past in 1989 he was arrested for trying to kidnap Robin and was found guilty receiving a 6 to 10year sentence due to good behavior he was released after 3 years when Robin learned of his release she was terrified fearing he might harm her again the police had reason to suspect
James and Sierra's disappearance given his criminal history they obtained a search warrant for his residence which he shared with his mother initially nothing seemed out of the ordinance but upon inspecting his expansive backyard they found a suspicious Barn inside the barn they discovered a small green crate containing labeled and sealed bags of women's clothing including a pair of bloody purple panties the detectives also found a hidden freezer air mattress with stains zip ties duct tape and handcuffs James claimed the items were for a porn business but the evidence suggested otherwise the police collected all the
items for DNA testing and the evidence led to James arrest for Sierra's murder the investigation continued with the police searching every inch of James property including a pond which they drained to search for evidence the question on everyone's mind was where was Sierra's body the detectives expanded their investigation to the attics front insulation and neighboring properties recognizing that evidence might have been dispersed Beyond James property they thoroughly explored All Leads a farmer reported a suspicious area in his field where corn seemed matted down with a nearby mound of dirt that resembled a potential grave the
farmers's concerns were heightened due to the ongoing search for Sierra so he quickly contacted the police the police responded promptly noticing a fresh pile of dirt that fueled their suspicions they carefully processed the area avoiding potential evidence disturbance despite their thorough search no clues were found regarding Sierra's whereabouts the detectives then searched adjacent Farms using drones and helicopters to cover more ground they soon discovered a mound of dirt with freshly matted corn with trained dogs indicating a potential crime scene as they dug they made a grim Discovery human remains later confirmed to be Sierra's body
tragically her hands were bound behind her back and her feet were tied to handcuffs an object was lodged in her mouth restricting her Airway which ultimately led to her death the devastating news was delivered to the Sierra family that night the family was overwhelmed with grief and their sorrow was palpable one month after the abduction and murder James warley was indicted on 19 counts including kidnapping and aggravated murder two years later warley stood trial pleading not guilty despite overwhelming evidence the state presented a terrifying story over eight intense days and the jury deliberated for 6

happen the Toyota approached the corner with its windows rolled down Enis and Raja circled the block several times waiting for the perfect moment to act they needed to be on the same side of the street as Khan's Car Wash meanwhile manzer and sulan were observing the situation unfold on the fourth pass by the car wash the Toyota slowed down coincidentally KH was on the street at that exact moment however the shooter zamir Raja made a mistake and fired the first shot at a employee not KH fortunately the first bullet missed its Target but the second

was done to create a fake Alibi for the two men Banbridge 32 admitted to conspiracy to pervert the course of justice and was sentenced to 23 months in prison on August 11th 2023 this was the last conviction in the case of aah hasham hi everyone thanks for returning let's unravel another perplexing mystery the case of Gretchen Harrington Gretchen Harrington was born on June 13th 1967 in Pennsylvania she was the youngest of three sisters and her family moved to the small town of braw shortly after her birth Gretchen's father a pastor took a job at the
local church and Gretchen quickly grew to love the town she spent much of her free time outdoors with her sisters and friends brawl was a safe Community where parents felt comfortable letting their children play outside until dark as a member of a devoutly religious family Gretchen spent much time at her father's church and excelled in Sunday school always getting top grades on August 15th 1975 Gretchen's family was eagerly awaiting the return of her mother and newborn sister from the hospital Gretchen wanted to be home to greet them but her father encouraged her to attend Sunday
school to keep up her grades Gretchen reluctantly agreed to go to church and set off with her Bible her older sisters who usually walked with her stayed home that morning however Gretchen wasn't worried about the short 8-minute walk to church Sunday school is divided into two sessions the first session takes place at Trinity Church and lasts an hour and a half after that some of the children go to Father Gretchen's church but when the children arrived at the second church at 11:30 a.m. Gretchen's father noticed that his daughter was not there he assumed she might
be at the first church so he called to check the pastor's wife answered informing him that Gretchen was not there she then told her husband David who was a Sunday school teacher he was surprised by the news since Gretchen had not attended his class that morning Gretchen's father became worried when he couldn't find her he asked David to contact the police and started searching the area between the churches and nearby streets but she was nowhere to be found he also reached out to the parents of her friends but they were either at church or home
her best friend who was also David daughter hadn't seen her all day as news of Gretchen's disappearance spread the police quickly launched a search operation hundreds of volunteers joined in many of whom knew Gretchen's father from his church together they searched the entire town then moved on to wooded areas in the riverbank a police helicopter was also deployed to scan the area from above the search continued through the night but to no avail the next day more volunteers joined in police posted Flyers with Gretchen's photo and information about her disappearance along the roads despite their
efforts police were unable to find Gretchen after several days of searching no significant Clues were found in Gretchen's fate remains a mystery the town is known for its safe environment where children are often allowed to play outside freely without adult supervision from a young age however this sense of security is no longer there when Gretchen goes missing some people thought she might have run away from home While others believed she had gone swimming in the river and drowned however the most alarming theory was that she had been abducted by someone as a result parents became
extremely cautious and stopped letting their children go out alone police interviewed bystanders they gathered some Clues one witness reported seeing a girl who looked like Gretchen near the church on the morning she went missing according to the witness a Green Sedan approached the girl but the witness did not see what happened next another person shared a similar story but this time described described a white Cadillac approaching the girl police checked the owners of cars matching the description in the area for days later detectives received a new lead a resident of Westchester a town 30 minutes
from brawl contacted police and reported finding children's shorts matching the description of Gretchen's clothing police immediately showed Gretchen's mother the shorts but she confirmed that they did not belong to her daughter the investigation into Gretchen's disappearance had stalled with no progress made for several weeks as a result the police halted their search operation and shifted their focus to Gathering more information they continued to interview Witnesses but with each passing day their hopes of finding Gretchen alive began to dwindle until October 14th when police received a phone call a jogger was running in a large National
Park about 20 minutes from brawl when he stumbled upon a body the jogger immediately alerted Park Rangers who then notified the police upon arriving at the scene police quickly determined that the body was that of a child however due to the severe state of decomposition identification of the child was extremely difficult police suspected that Gretchen might be the victim so they showed her parents the clothes found on her body Gretchen's mother quickly identified them as her daughters because she had sown them herself forensic experts later confirmed that the body was Gretchen by comparing them to
her dental records They also determined that she had died from severe head trauma because the body was so badly decomposed police were unable to gather further information including whether Gretchen had been sexually assaulted additionally DNA analysis was not available in 1975 leaving police without any further leads news of the murder sparked renewed interest in the case and police received numerous tips from the community the investigation into Gretchen's death turned up no leads police screamed nearby residents with a history of violent crime but nothing came up later the case had made no progress over the years
the case was reopened periodically and the police reviewed the available information however each time the investigation yielded no new evidence even applying DNA analysis was of no help in this case as no foreign DNA was found on Gretchen's body or clothing the case of Gretchen's murder went unsolved for decades occasionally resurfacing in newspapers and on television however it wasn't until recent years that the case regained widespread public attention two local journalists Joanna and Mike decided to write a book about the crime dedicating several years to gathering information as children both Joanna and Mike grew up
in the same town as Gretchen Joanna who was only 9 years old when the crime occurred the town had changed forever and children were no longer allowed to roam freely leave home unsupervised this fear lasted for years leaving a lasting impression on the town's people the memory of Gretchen's murder still still fresh in their minds to write their book Joanna and Mike had access to the case files and interviewed individuals involved in the investigation by carefully piecing together the events surrounding Gretchen's disappearance they were able to reconstruct the entire story the book released in 2022
brought attention to Gretchen's case months later a woman contacted police about Gretchen the woman said she was 10 years old at the time of the murder and lived in hton near Gretchen's home she was friends with Gretchen and her sisters as well as many other kids in the area she often slept over at friend's houses and one night while she was at her sister's house she woke up in the middle of the night feeling someone touching her when she opened her eyes she saw their father standing in front of her who quickly left the next
day she stayed another night her friend's dad continued to come into her bedroom and started touching her the next morning she finally told one of her sisters about what happened to her she was surprised that it happened quite often with her friends when the woman returned home she shared her entire story with her parents however instead of going to the authorities they banned her from ever going to her friend's house again this was just a week before Gretchen went missing the woman eventually revealed the identity of the involved man in her story David zanstra the
same Pastor who taught at Sunday school she also shared that a month after Gretchen went missing one of her friends told her about the incident that a man had tried to kidnap her the girl refused to get into his car and later confided to her friends that the real culprit was David zanstra the woman provided her Personal Diary as evidence of the information provided in her diary entry on September 15th 1975 she documented her friend's request to keep the encounter secret due to fears of potential harm from David zanstra upon receiving this new information the
police immediately reopened the investigation into Gretchen's disappearance while reviewing the case files detectives discovered several suspicious factors that indirectly implicated David Xandra it was David zanstra who reported Gretchen missing to the police providing investigators with a detailed description of her clothing dark blue zip-up shorts with front buttons and Pockets without zippers or buttons and a white shirt with braided hair however he mentioned that he had not seen Gretchen that day raising questions about how he knew what she was wearing his description was later confirmed by the discovery of her body dressed exact ly as he
had described police closely examined David the man who taught Sunday school at Gretchen's father's Church David initially claimed he had not seen Gretchen on the morning of her disappearance however David's Alibi gave him enough time to kidnap Gretchen kill her dump her body in the park and return to the church to teach the investigation revealed that David and his family had moved to another state just months after Gretchen went missing this sudden move combined with David's ownership of a green scooter attracted the attention of the police the police decided to question David who was now
83 years old and living in Georgia on July 17th 2023 they began questioning David as the conversation progressed David realized that the police suspected him of murder in response he denied all accusations and asked what evidence they had against him David was confronted with incriminating evidence including a woman's testimony about his inappropriate behavior at a sleepover and allegations of molesting his own daughter when he learned that his secret had been exposed David's demeanor changed after 48 years of Silence he finally began to talk about the murder according to David on the morning of the murder
he drove his green American Motor Station Wagon to the church where Gretchen's father was the pastor he saw Gretchen leave the house and waited until no one was around before approaching her he offered her a ride and she agreed however instead of taking Gretchen to the church David drove her to a included Park area he stopped the car and instructed her to undress but Gretchen refused and asked to go home in response David struck her several times on the head causing her to lose Consciousness he then removed her clothes and committed the crime before driving
her to another Park he carried her body into the bushes and concealed it with branches David then returned to the church to begin his classes when David confessed to the crime the police arrested him for Gretchen's murder David went to Pennsylvania where where he was held pending trial David's work held a respectable position in society which protected him from suspicion however after the truth finally came to light the police obtained a DNA sample and began comparing it with DNA from other unsolved cases they also investigated the disappearances of young girls in the cities where he
worked police have linked David to The Disappearance of 4-year-old Amanda Campbell from California who went missing in 1991 the case resembles Gretchen at the time David xstra was a pastor in that same neighborhood the police currently have no concrete evidence against David but they have found similarities between the various cases and Gretchen's kidnapping therefore they are investigating David as the possible perpetrator of the cases the trial for Gretchen's murder has not yet begun David's attorney is trying to delay the process and advise him to withdraw his confession if this happens the trial could drag on
for years and given his Advanced age David may not live to see the verdict Hello friends Welcome to our Channel today we're going to take a look at another horrible case with you the case of neava there are many instances that raise concerns about the safety of women even in the present day in June 2011 a similar event occurred in the lovely city of India three women were discovered murdered in their residence and it took the authorities several days to pinpoint the perpetrators the query persists who is responsible for this triple homicide and what drove
them to kill these three women let's delve deeper into the deshanda family murders case in 2011 Mega Desh Pand 42 years old resided in the upscale area of shener in the city of indor with her 21-year-old daughter ashlash sha and her 70-year-old mother rohini it is noteworthy that indor has repeatedly been ranked as the cleanest city in India shenar is known for its affluent residents indicating the Desh Pond family's strong financial status Meades Pond worked in a multi-level marketing MLM company for a considerable period MLM also known as network marketing direct selling operates by connecting
individuals to the company through a network this system allows for continuous profit generation for the company owner as more people join the network before residing in indor mega lived in the city of ujan with her husband and the rest of the family which is about 35 M away from indor however a few months ago Mega shifted her home with her daughter and mother Mega's husband n was a bank manager so he had to stay in uine N was a bank manager and mega was a senior employee at an MLM company so they had no Financial
worries Mega's family also had a strong relationship with their neighbors and all the residents in this community were sensible so far there had been no crimes that could cause fear among the people but something happened in this area on June 13th 2011 which shook the entire city of Endor during that time nobody had left Mega's house until noon and no one's Voice Was Heard however suddenly one of Mega Des Pond's neighbors walked by her house and noticed something very unusual there were Footprints with blood stains around Mega's house this sight alarmed her prompting her to
quickly call the authorities to investigate Mega's house after that the neighbor also knocked on the door of several times but there was no response from inside then they tried to look up inside the house through a window but upon seeing what was inside he screamed loudly because he saw three women lying on the ground in the house with blood all around their bodies after this in a state of panic the neighbor quickly informed the police about it for the police this case was completely different because such an incident had never happened in the serener area
now gradually many people of this Society came to know about this incident and by the time the police reached the crime scene a large crowd had gathered outside the Desh Pond family's house then the police entered the house and were surprised to see the bodies of three women who had been brutally murdered by the criminals They seized the crime scene and began their investigation discovering two bullet shells inside the house a police officer observed that Mega had been fatally shot in the head but they could not locate the second bullet despite thoroughly searching every corner
of the house after this the police called in the forensic team to start collecting evidence from the crime scene and then the dead bodies of these three women were sent for postmortem by this time not only shener but the entire city of Endor was shocked with this news a few hours later the postmortem report is presented to the police revealing that the murders of 21-year-old asaha and her 70-year-old grandmother rohini were due to excessive bleeding with multiple stab wounds inflicted on their bodies this report also makes it clear that only Mega Desh ponde was shot
to death but now the biggest question before the police was if they have found two bullet shells then on whom was the second shot fired on the other hand Mega's husband and the general public started demanding a quick solution to the case so the culprits could be punished the police felt the increasing pressure from the public and a sense of urgency to solve the case quickly consequently several teams were deployed by the police to investigate one team examined the called detail records of the victims while another team rechecked the forensic evidence at first the police
found out that at the crime scene there was blood of an additional person besides Mega asaha and rohini and the robbery and murder was filed as it appeared that theft had taken place at the Desh Pond family's residence later investigations revealed that there were multiple calls made to Mega's phone from a specific number and mega had lengthy conversations with this number now the police extracted complete information about this number from where it was revealed to police that this number belonged to a girl named nja Vara now the police had also started tracking the location of
the girl so that they could talk to her regarding this case which might provide them with some leads on the other hand the police now also had a sample of that blood which was separate from Mega asaha and rohini at the crime scene then one day suddenly the police find out that nayha is near an ATM in that area after that a team of police reached there and brought nayha to the police station to talk to her now naha was told about the entire scene which left naha completely astonished after that nayha explained how she
met mega mega and nhha met for the first time in a shopping mall nayha accidentally bumped into Mega while rushing through them all Mega was holding some items in her hand which fell down due to the Collision nayha then apologized and helped Mega pick up the Fallen items during this time there was a lot of conversation between them so much so that nayha herself went to drop Mega to the car and from here onwards their friendship started nja discovered that Mega works at a company involved in multi-level marketing MLM they exchanged phone numbers the same
day and started talking occasionally naha was curious about the MLM business model so she would discuss it with mega however the police became suspicious of niha's story because her words and Body Language didn't align as a result they questioned nayha extensively nayha tried to conceal her lie briefly but she couldn't withstand the police interrogation for long eventually she confessed a story that shocked even the police nayha a 23-year-old was beautiful and cheerful although she was a beautician her financial situation wasn't good enough for her to fulfill her dreams niha's father was an ordinary van driver
which meant their financial condition wasn't great enough for nayha to pursue her dreams it was during this time that naha met a guy named Rahul chodor they developed a good friendship which eventually turned into love Rahul at 24 was handsome but his financial situation was the same as niha's this despite this they loved each other deeply and wanted to marry so they were searching for a way to become rich overnight and live their lives comfortably one day naha met mega mega had a fondness for wearing expensive jewelry so whenever she went out she adorned herself
with her Jewels the day Mega met naha for the first time she was decked out in gold jewelry which indicated to naha that Mega was very wealthy sparking the idea in niha's mind to get close to meesh p and befriend her subsequently deliberately bumped into Mega to strike up a conversation and thus their interactions began now gradually due to talking through a call the thought of robbing Mega came into niha's mind after this naha included her boyfriend Rahul in her plan she told Rahul that she has conversations with a woman who is very wealthy and
the added Advantage is that there are no men in her house so it will be easy to rob her hearing this idea Rahul also becomes happy because by doing this both of their financial situations would improve and then they could live comfortably after getting married from that day on Rahul began to plan the murders of these three women he believed that if he successfully killed them without anyone finding out there would be no one to report them with a complete plan in place Rahul only needed a gun to carry out the deed his friend monoj
who was close to both Rahul and naha provided him with one as he also had a gun with the means to execute his plan Rahul started searching for the right day to make his move against Mega and her family on June 13th 2011 naha contacted Mega to join her MLM scheme Mega was pleased to have naha on board unbeknownst to Mega this day would bring unforeseen tragedy naha arrived at Mega's house early the next morning Mega asked naha to fill out a form for the company but naha was unsure about the required information she requested
help from her friend and mega approved nayha then contacted her boyfriend Rahul now according to the plan Rahul and monoj were waiting for n's call and then shortly after that Rahul and monoj went to Mega's house but as soon as Rahul entered the house he showed Mega a gun and then a few seconds later he shot Mega causing her to die on the spot the sound of The Gunshot didn't go out of their house because Rahul had shot very close but the sound of this gunshot reached ashlesha and rohini's ears causing both of them to
run into the lobby after that first Rahul and Manoj frightened ashlash and rohin and asked for her ATM card in pin to save their lives in order to save her life ashlash quickly gave her ATM card and handed it to Rahul she felt that now these people would leave but now because ashlesha and her grandmother had seen naha Rahul and mano's faces so now these three were afraid that after they leave these two might inform the police so Rahul first tried to shoot ashas but in haste this bullet hit rahul's own foot afterwards Manoj brutally
murdered ashlesha an elderly rohini with a knife afterwards these three criminals stole 1,000 Indian rupees valuable jewelry worth up to half a million Indian rupees and Ash's ATM card before leaving the house surprisingly it was the same ATM card naha was planning to withdraw money from but she was later caught by the police Rahul was captured after going to a police station with a fake first information report and then being hospitalized locally due to a gunshot wound in his foot nonetheless when the police compared rahul's blood sample taken from the crime scene with his own
it was a match the police quickly solved this case and captured the criminals resulting in much praise for their City's police force subsequently this case remained in court for a long time but eventually in December 2013 The District Court sentenced these three criminals to death by hanging these killers had wiped out the entire Desh Pond family line by murdering women from three different Generations moreover the police found bloodied clothes knives and jewelry in possession of these criminals nja Vara is currently incarcerated in the central jail where she is teaching a beauty parlor course to other
female inmates it should also be noted that this was the first time the district court had pronounced capital punishment for a woman Mega's husband naai Desh Pand expressed satisfaction with the Court's decision and said he had full confidence in the Judiciary and the police did a great job the aspiration to become rich over night turned an ordinary girl and boy into criminals if these criminals had fled to another country after killing and stealing money they might never have been caught however if Mega hadn't worn her valuable jewelry to the mall that day and hadn't trusted
a random person perhaps her family would still be alive today one lesson to be learned from this is that we shouldn't develop such strong friendships with any stranger in just a few days that we start inviting them home Hello friends Welcome to our Channel today we're going to take a look at another horrible case with you the case of Kina vetrano the story of Karina vetrano is both horrifying and baffling firstly nothing seemed to miss on the day of the Fateful event the attack occurred in broad daylight in a fairly populated area secondly her death
has critical aspects to it thirdly the investigation and sentencing of the perpetrator raised many questions on Tuesday August 2nd 2016 Karina arranged to meet her father after work to spend time together since Miss vetrano had moved away family gatherings had become rare because everyone was busy with their own matters in addition to her commitments she was balancing two jobs Philip picked up his daughter and took her home there the family shared their impressions of the past week when Karina was about to leave she asked if her father wanted to go jogging with her as they
often did covering several miles together her father replied that he couldn't this time due to severe back pain that nothing seemed seemed to alleviate perhaps he needed a new prescription or maybe it was just the change in weather Mr vetrano offered to call a cab for Corina due to his discomfort and inability to join her run however the weather was beautiful the heat had Abed and there was a fresh scent in the air hence Karina declined his offer she was training for the upcoming marathon the young woman had recently broken up with her boyfriend and
wanted to distract herself a jog would clearly do her good that evening was the last time her parent parents saw their youngest daughter at 5:45 p.m. she left the house for a jog her first stop was Spring Creek Park a cozy and tranquil Place buried in Greenery a true Paradise amongst the city's infrastructure however only part of the park was available for walking the rest was covered with thickets and swamps Mr vetrano asked his daughter to stick to her usual route and stay away from unfamiliar paths and people unfortunately Karina ignored his advice in search
of Solitude she decided to go to a grassy deserted Place Karina's thoughts were abruptly interrupted she felt a sharp pain in the back of her head and fell down this rash decision cost the young woman her life a frightening uncertainty entered the vetrano home it had been 2 hours since they had said goodbye to their youngest daughter she should have been home by now or at least answering the calls of her parents who were frantically trying to reach her and she had promised to keep her cell phone with herself the anxiety was growing her father
sensed that something was wrong and decided to seek help from his neighbor the chief of the New York City Police Department they were on good terms and the high-ranking official knew that Philip would not make a fuss over nothing after that Karina vatrano was reported missing police began searching for the young woman combing the Park area and surrounding streets as a result experienced canine units were brought in since it is known the first 24 hours after the ciser The Disappearance of a person are crucial law enforcement utilized all available resources before nightfall at the same
time Mr vetrano along with a group of volunteers searched for his daughter on his own he scoured the park from end to end combing paths and waiting through tall grass all while making phone calls as dusk fell he noticed a light in the grass as he approached he recognized Karina's phone maybe she lost it and just didn't let them know Philip approached headed toward police officers deciding to continue picking his way through the Thicket stepping into the grass as he ventured further Philip stumbled upon something soft a partially undressed female body lying face down when
he turned it over a familiar face stared back at him a desperate scream escaped from his father's chest it was Karina she hadn't simply lost her phone as he had initially believed his little girl didn't answer her phone because life had been cruy taken from her the crushing realization of what had transpired overwhelmed Mr vitrano the police hearing the screaming and yelling quickly rushed to him they dragged philli away from his daughter's body explaining that it was now a crime scene they emphasized that anything in the vicinity could be considered evidence and implored him not
to touch anything to prevent tampering on the journey home Mr vetrano was lost in thought tormented by how to break the news of their daughter's death to his wife images of past memories flooded his mind he recalled vividly how on July 12th 1986 in Queens their second daughter was born from an early age Philip had been proud of Corina she was obedient and well-mannered he remembered taking her to school for the first time and how excellently she performed academically her strong Educational Foundation enabled her to earn Advanced degrees Karina graduated from St John's University with
a masters in Speech Pathology she always dreamed of aiding children and worked tirelessly with autistic kids Karina loved traveling and writing and had a passion for sports especially running an interest she shared with Phillip which brought them closer together he recalled how closely he scrutinized her suitors out of paternal jealousy eager for her to find true love and eventually establish a strong family like his own with Kathy he hoped for wonderful grandchild the return Journey felt endless as they approached the house Mr vetrano paused at the entrance and took a deep breath fortunately he didn't
need to explain anything to her she understood everything from her husband's face Cathy cried approached her husband and hugged him soon Karina's relatives and Friends learned of the incident they struggled to recover from the shock believing in the sudden death of the young woman was hard let alone its violent nature Miss vrono had been subjected to a brutal attack this was the conclusion reached by investigators at first glance it was obvious that the woman had resisted even in death her fists remained clenched bruises and abrasions were found on her once young and healthy body and
her athletic clothing was torn the autopsy showed that the back of the victim's skull had been damaged by a blunt object probably a stone however the cause of death was asphixiation a clear Mark was visible on the woman's neck the forensic examination also revealed the intimate nature of the crime violence the experts findings confirmed the police's initial suspicions Earth and grass were found under the victim's fingernails probably in an attempt to free herself from her attacker's grip and Escape Specialists examined her mouth and found teeth knocked out and cracked in places she had clearly bitten
to defend herself even the woman's neck was covered with numerous scratches she was grabbing with her hands trying to force her attacker to let go of her shortly after this tragedy new information leaked to the media from Princeton Massachusetts another jogger's body was found among Tall Grass the woman had apparently also been out for a walk in a secluded place and suffered a similar fate at first glance these cases seemed identical raising questions about another potential serial offender in the United States geneticists took charge of the case tasked with comparing DNA samples collected from the
crime scenes fortunately unidentified samples were found on both victims contrary to police expectations the analysis showed no connection between the crimes it turned out that the DNA samples belong to different individuals it's well known that most lethal crimes are committed by someone close to the victim thus police couldn't ignore any possibility to this end the victim's father provided his DNA since he was first to discover his daughter's body later on all of her relatives also underwent a DNA test which yielded no matches detectives then decided to interview Karina's family and friends to find out if
she had any enemies or ill wishes it turned out there were none she was respected and loved by everyone investigators developed a new Theory someone acted on base motives upon meeting Karina in a secluded place and attacked her feeling stuck they sought public help by offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the perpetrator the initiative received widespread response detectives explored some 250 leads conducted 600 genetic tests and compiled more than 1,700 reports all to no avail it seemed like the perpetrator hadn't committed crimes before or at least hadn't been caught for them complicating things
further on August 31st 2016 a utility worker approached the police station with significant information at the time of MS vetrano's death he found himself in a restricted area of the park one day suddenly a man emerged from the bushes and took off running in a knly direction because of his testimony the New York police department created and distributed a sketch of the suspect in December 2016 however they considered that the person shown in the sketch might have just been a passer by caught at the wrong place in time unfortunately releasing the sketch didn't provide any
new leads and the investigation fell into another long stalemate on December 4th 2016 the Federal Bureau of Investigation joined in to help solve Karina vetrano's case at first they developed a psychological profile of the perpetrator according to FBI experts this individual was very familiar with the area especially the park where everything occurred suggesting he might live or continue to live nearby fearing capture now he seems to avoid that area it was evident he knew that the quiet and partially overgrown territory was perfect for hiding his actions based on this idea police conducted screenings among local
African-American men however this didn't bring about any breakthroughs let's go in to take a look about Chanel Lewis Chanel Lewis's life didn't stand out much from other young African-American individuals he lived in one of Brooklyn's low-income housing complexes approximately four or 5 miles from Spring Creek Park Chanel was unemployed and living with his mother three sisters and their children one detail setting him apart was his diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia yet this did not stop him from graduating from a private school for students with emotional and behavioral issues former classmates remembered Chanel as a quiet loner
who constantly faced bullying one shared that even girls intimidated and punched him he had no friends another peer noted that while Lewis sometimes fought back he wasn't effective at it and often got ridiculed for his clothing and appearance Chanel always wore a hoodie and would smirk and walk away when things got tough earning him the unfortunate nickname African lizard 17-year-old Danielle munes a fellow student described Chanel as a bright student with good grades he liked to show me funny videos on the bus she recalled I never saw him being cruel some sources reported that the
young man once claimed he wanted to harm all the girls during his time in Middle School scho even posing the question what happens if I bring a knife to school Dr Edward Dana the executive director of the school to which Chanel was transferred commented on this we received no reports of threats in middle school during his time at our school he had no disciplinary sanctions I never heard him make threatening statements towards other students nonetheless Chanel was a troubled teenager who often experienced bullying he dreamed of working in Social Services aspiring to help those in
distress addess when conflicts arose at home he would wander the streets frequently and visit the park Lewis had several minor encounters with the police two for violations in Spring Creek and one for urinating in public in May 2016 another incident happened when a local Merchant reported Lewis for loitering in his store with a crowbar responding officers checked Chanel's ID and released him as he had no prior incidents however this information was retained by the police and later played a crucial role role in the investigation into Karina vetrano's death in February 2017 detective John Russo who
was involved in the investigation remembered something significant he had repeatedly seen a young man in a hoodie wandering around the park Russo even attempted to follow him once intrigued by his behavior the young man walked slowly and stopped for long periods in front of houses near the park as if scouting them for potential burglaries however Russo lost sight of him when he contacted his colleagues by phone following a store owner's report of suspicious activity a teenager matching Chanel's description came to the police's attention two months into the investigation detective Russo recalled this Wanderer thinking he
might have seen or heard something relevant investigators then focused on Chanel Lewis after detective Russo took a closer look at his file Chanel's peculiarities had raised their interest the police began inquiries about him questioning acquaintances and teachers it emerged that he had allegedly expressed a desire to harm girls this news stirred significant concern and suspicion with no other leads officers decided to focus on Lewis it was discovered that during Karina's death Chanel was not at home after an argument with his family he had gone to the park upon his return his appearance was disheveled his
clothes torn and he had visible bruises and abrasions when his mother inquired about what had happened Lewis claimed he had been attacked his account matched the timeline with a Witnesses description of a man fleeing the park additionally on August 3rd 2016 Lewis's father a former School principal took him to the hospital for treatment of severe wounds mostly cuts and he also had an injured hand the investigators reviewed the medical records from that day and found the story plausible however they noted similarities between events involving Chanel Lewis and Karina vetrano on February 4th 2017 Chanel was
brought to the police station and voluntarily provided his DNA for analysis detectives wondered if a perpetrator would willingly do this the interrogation began on the morning of February 5th Lewis admitted that he was indeed in the park around 5:00 p.m. on August 2nd 2016 but clarified he was walking on dirt paths listening to music not through thickets he confessed to encountering a young woman jogging with her phone in her hand when asked by detectives if something happened when he encountered her Chanel nodded and quietly said yes I was walking in the park trying to distract
myself from a family argument when I met a woman alone he began again I decided to follow her when she passed by me I grabbed her shoulders and threw her to the ground then hit her face about five times so she couldn't scream he recalled how his punches knocked out several of her teeth injuring his own hand in the process echoing details eerily consistent with earlier evidence they had gathered He also mentioned that the struggle lasted about 5 minutes Miss vrono fiercely resisted by biting to avoid drawing attention Lewis dragged her off the path into
tall where he tried to undress and assault her she was horrified but kept resisting Chanel then strangled her until he realized she was no longer alive when asked if he knew the victim beforehand he replied I did not know her before this it all happened by Chance the motive for the ACT was unexpected and bizarre loud music played by a neighborhood gang member for hours had triggered Chanel's hatred and and uncontrollable aggression these negative emotions were Unleashed on the unfortunate woman a strange reason indeed investigators confusion faded when DNA comparison results matched perfectly microscopic traces
found on the victim's body and phone belonged to chenel consequently the police and prosecutor concluded the case was solved and ready for court however the motive still seemed unlikely it's possible Chanel had noticed Karina before since he often went to that Park he might have seen her with her father liked her and decided to approach her after being rejected he became Furious and attacked her causing the situation to spiral out of control this scenario would have been more understandable on November 5th 2018 the trial against chenel Lewis began despite his previous statements to authorities Lewis
pleaded not guilty a stance echoed by his family denying his involvement in the crime the prosecution charged Lewis with ending a life and sexual assault facing him with a sentence ranging from 25 years to life imprisonment the debate over Lewis guilt not only unfolded in the courtroom but also spilled over into the media Lewis defense team stirred things up by pointing out alleged legal violations during his arrest along with several news outlets they claimed racial bias and discrimination however the judge dismissed these allegations as baseless emphasizing that the investigation complied with legal standards the prosecution
presented tangible evidence and DNA analysis findings while the defense argued that this evidence was insufficient and contaminated due to many people at the crime scene including Karina's father who discovered her body forensic biologist Linda Rosano stated that odds of the DNA belonging to someone other than Lewis were one in Six Trillion the prosecutor also introduced Lewis phone records revealing his internet searches on Second Chances and forgiveness in Catholicism which raised questions about what sin Chanel hoped to atone for the release of Lewis confession video sparked further controversy his lawyers argued he was under immense pressure
leading to a coerced confession they suspected police might have fabricated evidence the recording commenced only after Lewis was pressured raising concerns that the search of his home violated protocols the defense suggested that the investigation into Karina vetrano's death was initially mishandled with public pressure mounting for an arrest they argued Lewis became a scapegoat the jury was deeply influenced by the defense's compelling arguments after considering both sides jurors could not reach a conclusive verdict on November 21st 2018 the judge declared a mistrial a retrial was initially scheduled for January 22nd 2019 but later postponed to March
2019 following 5 hours of deliberation during the retrial Chanel Lewis was ultimately found guilty of Karina vetrano's death and sentenced to life with without parole on July 23rd 2019 the defense employed delay tactics by citing an anonymous source to allege misconduct by a juror suggesting jury pressure and conspiracy a case that seemed straightforward at first sparked widespread prejudices and fears in society Karina vetrano's tragic death affected many serving as a stark reminder for women to remain Vigilant about their safety Nancy logerquist on the night of Sunday July 1st 1990 Nancy logerquist a Nikki 7-year-old resident
at Riverside healthc Care Center was last seen alive at around 3:30 a.m. a care worker witnessed the elderly woman sound asleep in her bed she was not distressed and appeared peaceful the care worker closed her bedroom door and moved on to the next room Nancy had been a resident at Riverside since December of 1988 born in Hamilton Montana in 1902 she graduated high school at the age of 18 and spent much of her life working as a executive secretary Nancy was an active member of the Missoula Business and Professional Women's Club prior to her retirement
she never married had no children and had little in the way of relatives at the time of her death those family members a sister two nieces and three nephews didn't live near the care home by all accounts Nancy lived an ordinary life in the care home she was unable to walk and so she required Around the Clock assistance there was nothing about her background to suggest there was a Target on her back at the time of her death at 4:30 a.m. 1 hour after Nancy was checked on at Riverside on July 1st a worker checked
on her room once more this time however the alarm was raised the 87-year-old was gone the five employees on shift scattered across the building in an attempt to locate the elderly woman but there was no sign of her 11 minutes later at 4:41 a.m. the police were alerted to ny's disappearance law enforcement promptly arrived on the scene accompanied by search and rescue teams They carried out an extensive search of the home and the surrounding area the residence was located along the Clark Fork River and boats manned by police officers were dispatched along the water at
6:30 a.m. the search was called off authorities had found Nancy dead near the riverbank about 30 minutes Downstream from Riverside she had been murdered in a manner that was described by police as ritualistic the circumstances of her death were violent stemming from sexual assault with an object her body was then dumped into the water to investigators working on the case it soon became apparent that they would have their work cut out for them the fact that nany's body had been put in the water had washed away any traces of forensic evidence and her diaper has
never been located the police have never put forward a theory about the weapon used in the murder and it too has never been found detectives soon theorized the culprit had entered and exited through ny's bedroom window which faced the river as the screen had been cut however the perpetrator had managed not to leave behind any evidence on the window or sill or in the rest of the bedroom furthermore none of the alarms had gone off at any of the entrances and all were in working order it's unclear if the home was dusted for Prints but
given the amount of staff residents and guests coming and going from the home it would have been a very arduous task if it had the only lead in the case was a man seen by a member of staff at around 4:00 a.m. walking through the tar partk of the neighboring Missoula Athletic Club away from the river and towards East Broadway Street he is described as being white between the ages of 30 and 40 and weighing around 180 to 200 lb he has light brown collar length hair a mustache and brown rimmed glasses and was wearing
an untucked white and brown striped t-shirt tan button front shorts and white tennis shoes with white socks his T-shirt was longer at the back than the front this man was never considered a suspect but was wanted for questioning however it's unclear if he ever made contact with the police or was even identified by them reportedly the description led to the police becoming inundated with reports due to Na's minimal Family Ties a family connection was quickly ruled out after which the authorities turned their attention to staff members staff at the care home would be familiar with
its layout and its security measures and would know who was best to Target investigators felt that the murder could well be an inside job and hom in on one male staff member in particular he was eventually cleared of being involved but left the care home less than a month later it is unclear why he left after ruling out the staff member the police began to look at the possibility that the crime was the work of an outsider they noted that security focused on the doors to the home not the windows and speculated that Nancy was
picked because she was in a room facing onto to the river and was not targeted for any reason more specific than that they interviewed a man named James Bailey on multiple occasions but eventually dropped him as a suspect eventually detectives looked back at the witness statements they'd collected regarding any other potentially suspicious deaths in the home one nurse had drawn their attention to the demise of an 86-year-old woman named Bertha Scott an Alzheimer's sufferer who was discovered dead in her bed on May 2nd 1990 she was put into restraints at night to stop her from
wandering off and because she'd suffered from heart disease her death was assumed to be from natural causes neither the staff nor her family felt her demise was suspicious except for the one nurse who had noted a bruise on Bertha's neck she was buried without autopsy around the time of death the care home staff had also noticed that there had been some tampering with the windows of the physical therapy room although nothing ever really came of this on the back of the nurse's comets the police decided to exume bera's body and double check her cause of
death her family was shocked when the police announced that she had actually been raap raped before being strangled to death Bertha's life was rather different from ny's she had been born in Pennsylvania in 1904 and was married 20 years later she had moved to Missoula just 2 years before her death so that she could be closer to one of her surviving children for of her six children had died before her though she was succeeded by a vast number of grandchildren during Bertha's medical examination it was discovered that Seaman had been left behind although a sample
was collected it was too degraded to produce a DNA profile which would help the police find her kill her from here both cases grew cold in 1992 a man at another care home was arrested for sexually assaulting one of the residents however he was in prison at the time of the murders the police also suspected Lloyd Chase Allen of being involved that same year but he too was behind bars when the crimes were committed in 2002 the mulian reported that several of the care home residents had spoken of a man who roamed the Halls at
night but staff had never been sure if he was real or not because the resident memories and testimony were often unreliable it's possible this man was real and that there are more cases like biras where residents were killed but it was deemed that they had died from natural causes however without DNA evidence a confession or further investigation it seems likely we will never see this case solved quesera stops pretty places born on August 14th 2001 quesera stops pretty places and her large family were members of various Native American reservations in Montana including the crow and
North Cheyenne Nations an extremely athletic individual quesera was fond of basketball football running cross country and wrestling in her teen years she had performed in several plays at harden high school and participated in the school's choir she had a big heart and was described as compassionate and loving by all those who knew her she could often be found tending to stray animals in her spare time but casir biggest ambition was to become a performer she wanted to act and sing and the future looked bright for the determined team until her life was horrifically ripped away
shortly after her 18th birthday quesera was last seen on August 24th 2019 in Harden rural Town less than half a mile off the crow reservation where she lived with her legal guardian and grandmother Yolanda Frasier it's unclear where the teen was aiming to go but one thing is for certain she never returned home she had planned the following day to meet with her mother to visit North Dakota but she failed to turn up for this get together her family quickly noticed that their texts were going unanswered their phone calls simply rang and rang and that
quesera was not active on social media which was perhaps the most telling clue of all that something was wrong later that day Ker's Aunt priscilia bolo went to report her niece missing to the Big Horn County Sheriff's Office but was told there was a mandatory waiting period before the report could be filed This was later proven to be a lie in Lana anyone under the age of 21 is considered a Meer and that Amber Alert should have been issued instead it wasn't until August 27th that Ker's family was able to file the missing person's report
the police reportedly told priscilia that the teen was probably out with her friends there is no record but following her disappearance law enforcement attempted to search for the teenager they also didn't hand out flyers which may have helped Trace her final movement and prompt witnesses to step forward priscilia felt that because of Ker's troubled past and history of running away law enforcement didn't take her case seriously although much of the 18-year-olds past remains a mystery to the public it has been noted in recent articles that she had some issues with alcohol in April of 2019
she was found unresponsive at school because she was heavily intoxicated and she had to be rushed to the ER then on August 29th a passing jogger discovered case s's Body by a wood pile in the back Garden of a home at the intersection of Mitchell Avenue and rang View Drive in the Harden suburb where she was last seen Alive 5 days earlier the homeowner was out of town when her body was found and had no connection to the teenager keser's family were not notified immediately that a body had been found reports of a teenager's remains
being discovered began circulating on social media and the family caught wind of the rumors they began to fear the worst priscilia went to the scene to to ID the body but was turned away without being able to view the remains and the local media were not alerted to the fact that a body had been found kera's mother along with Yolanda then went to the local Mortuary so they could view the body on September 1st but they were informed that the body didn't belong to the missing team and so the family continued the search it wasn't
until 10 days later it was revealed that the body was in fact quiris the coroner ruled that she had perished on August 26th and that her death was suspicious her remains were already badly decomposed so the cause of death could not be determined its fixation could not be ruled out following this discovery the teenagers family kept the pressure on law enforcement to investigate the death on September 12th kera's mother gern was told by Terry bullus the County coroner and the owner of bis Mortuary that her daughter's remains had to be cremated in order to be
returned to the family despite the fact this was against the family's cultural belief Le and would remove the possibility of further examinations of the body furthermore the family had wanted the doll Funeral Home in Billings Montana to handle funeral arrangements but bullus made them use his business and ordered Ker's cremation before other family members arrived in Harden on September 14th the family located the site where Ker's body was discovered with the help of relatives who lived nearby they had attempted to visit the area a few days earlier but were unable to because the scene was
no longer sealed off and there was no demarcation of where the body was found at the scene they performed a ritual ceremony and noted that the area was very visible and had high traffic a neighbor Jason Cummings who had found the body told the family that the police had removed Ker's phone from her pockets and that he had told them to charge it so her family could be contacted although they appeared to ignore this suggestion he too had questioned why the crime scene hadn't been sanctioned off to prevent contamination 5 days later on September 19th
the family alerted the media to the case the Billings Gazette told them that they called the Sheriff's Office daily for any crime updates and hadn't been made aware of the case that same day Yolanda along with Ker's father Allan went to meet up with Captain Mike fuss of the Big Horn Sheriff County's office when they asked why fuss had not made contact with the family or returned their calls he told them he had been preoccupied with other cases when they asked why the crime scene had not been sealed off he explained that if investigator arrived
on the scene before uniformed officers then they did not need to seal off the scene according to fuss the scene was only sealed off if officers arrived first then Yolanda and Allen asked why law enforcement had not charged and turned on Ker's phone fuss was reportedly surprised that the family knew about this and he said that the battery was dead and so they didn't attempt to use it Ker's family countered this by noting that they could have charged the phone and looked at her recent Communications but fuss said they couldn't get into that phone and
that not even the FBI could furthermore fuss implied that quesera had died from alcohol poisoning where she was found and seemed angry when the family told him they were offering a $5,000 reward for any information he also revealed that the original investigator on the case Jeremy middlestead had stepped down because he quote couldn't handle it notably Ker's family were not interviewed by law enforcement until this time they also spoke with the big horn County attorney J who told the family that the coroner Terry bullus had a conflict of interest in his position as a funeral
home business and the County Medical Examiner Harris also noted that Bullis tended to quickly determine the cause of death as exposure to alcohol and natural causes under his charge as coroner however Harris was otherwise reportedly brusk and rude towards the family and failed to provide them with clear answers to any of their questions at one point telling them how do you know that nothing is being done on the 23rd the family were notified that no missing person's report had been filed for Kera and that her name was not in the missing person's database a week
later the FBI declined to take the case on stating they needed more evidence that Kera was murdered on the reservation interestingly just days before quesera vanished she had filmed a video of several police officers beating her 15-year-old wheelchair bound brother and uploaded it to social media the incident involved several deputies from the Big Horn County Sheriff's Office leading to several officers being reprimanded it is believed one of the officers who responded to the scene where Ker's body was found was one of those involved in the beating this has sparked much speculation that the police were
involved in her death or opted not to investigate in retaliation for Kera attempting to hold them responsible for their actions in August of 2021 2 years after the teenager's death a fresh report revealed that four Witnesses had been discovered the statements of these individuals are not fully consistent but generally describe a series of events which led to an argument outside of a home on Range View Drive at around 3:00 a.m. on August 26th 2019 involving quesera and three other unarmed individuals including a 17-year-old girl 19-year-old woman and 23-year-old man some reports mentioned that quesera had
been hanging out at the house and that an occupant had purchased alcohol for her reportedly her blood alcohol level at the time of her demise was 0.1 49 the argument that had occurred that night led to another nearby homeowner setting off his car alarm hoping it would cause the group to flee they did scattering in different directions quesera was last seen heading towards the area where her body was later found the new report also mentioned that no foreign DNA was discovered underneath her fingernails and that she was diagnosed with asthma shortly before her disappearance qu's
case is still unsolved
