I have several videos on my channel about what breakfast should be. But many viewers write about their breakfast, asking if it’s right for them. Others write that they don’t eat breakfast at all, and still others write that breakfast is unimportant or even harmful.
But in fact, it is harmful not to eat breakfast. So I decided to make a video about why breakfast is the most important meal of the day. And what will happen if you don’t have breakfast?
Watch until the end for a list of five foods you shouldn't eat for breakfast. Perhaps these are the foods you like to eat, and I’ll tell you what my breakfast looks like. If we consider our digestive system as a furnace where there is a fire of digestion, then breakfast as the first meal of the day is very important to turn on and maintain the fire of digestion, and this affects the functioning of our body.
In general, from the point of view of Tibetan medicine, breakfast should be in the time of the wind: from 6:00 am to 12:00 pm is considered wind time, from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm is bile time, from 6:00 pm to 12:00 at night is the time of mucus, and from 12:00 at night to 6:00 in the morning is the time of balance. X before, breakfast should be at the time of the wind, then our wind, as it were, fans the fire of digestion, and the digestive system begins to work correctly if we have breakfast at this time. Everything we eat is burned well and does not remain in our body.
Breakfast should not be immediately after waking up, that is, you need to give the body 15-30 minutes for the body to fully wake up. Immediately after waking up, you can drink a glass of warm water. So, what happens to our body in the morning?
Increased levels of somatotropic hormone, which activates the breakdown of fat, higher sensitivity to insulin. Insulin is secreted little, but if we even eat fast carbohydrates at breakfast , then due to sensitivity to insulin, the blood sugar level will not increase. Do you know that even a short-term increase in insulin can harm our blood vessels, even in people without diabetes.
But I, as a doctor of Tibetan medicine, still recommend giving preference to fats. From the point of view of Tibetan medicine, fats are the main product at breakfast. If you eat fats at breakfast, then you have time to break them down, and plus fats provide long-lasting good energy.
And there is a rule in Tibetan medicine: whoever does not eat fat at breakfast has a good dinner. That is, during the day we work, move, spend a lot of energy, and hunger catches us at a time when it is not very good for us to eat a lot of food. And if you eat fats at breakfast, you will block this moment.
And you won’t feel like eating in the evening before going to bed. What happens if you eat breakfast incorrectly? As I said before, if you don't eat breakfast or don't eat breakfast properly, you'll want to have a good dinner.
Second, you miss the time when you can eat sweets and short carbohydrates only at breakfast. You can eat these foods without much harm to your body. Eating short carbohydrates at any other time is harmful to your body and harms your metabolism.
And, of course, the wrong breakfast is when we eat only sweets, only coffee with a cigarette, or when we drink water, then drink natural freshly squeezed fruit juice, and then some kind of Claire or donut. These are incorrect breakfasts from the point of view of Tibetan medicine, in general from the point of view of the metabolism of our body. Breakfast is the main meal of the day.
You must understand that if you consider your body as a fire, yes, which needs to constantly add firewood to keep the fire burning, this breakfast is the main time when you need to add the right firewood. If we eat breakfast incorrectly, then we will gradually become exhausted and visceral fat will begin to accumulate, that is, our internal organs will begin to become swollen with fat. That is, on the one hand, you don’t seem to eat anything like that at breakfast.
But on the other hand, at the same time your organs become fat. If you eat breakfast incorrectly, you will disrupt your body’s biorhythms throughout the day and disrupt your metabolism. This also leads to consequences and destroys our health.
In Tibetan medicine, and in general, in any dietetics and nutritionology, there is a Golden Rule: eat three times a day. Breakfast, lunch, dinner without snacks - this maintains our metabolism in the correct mode and regulates, that is, stops, our biorhythms. So, five harmful foods.
The first product is porridge. Don't rush to write an angry comment. Porridge, I mean, instant porridge.
I still advise you to eat whole grain porridge: buckwheat, barley, yanka, oats, and so on. Moreover, you don’t need to cook whole grain products for a long time; they don’t get overcooked. The index is getting higher, you need to eat a little undercooked porridge.
Porridge instead of sugar. Add ghee and some dried fruits, then you will have the right porridge and will be a source of carbohydrates, fats, and also fiber. Whole grains are high in fiber.
The second product is coffee. Coffee for skinny I have nothing against coffee, this drink is very good. Especially for our climate.
I want to make a video about coffee. But that's for next time. Bile accumulates in our gallbladder overnight.
If you drink coffee on an empty stomach, bile is released immediately. If you do this constantly, you will gradually develop reflux disease, reflux gastritis, that is, bile will be released into the stomach. But if you drink coffee after warm water, plus after drinking coffee, you eat something within 10-15 minutes, then everything will be fine.

The third wrong product is freshly squeezed fruit juices. They cause a spike in blood glucose and block your appetite; chances are if you drink fresh fruit juice before breakfast, you won't want to eat anything.
I'm not saying you can't have fresh juices at breakfast. But if you have a habit of drinking them, then drink them after porridge. The fourth harmful product at breakfast is processed cheese, low-fat dairy and fermented milk products, and condensed milk.
These foods should not be eaten at breakfast. Processed cheese contains a lot of phosphorus, phosphorus blocks the absorption of calcium. Low-fat dairy products.
They have no benefit at all, no nutrients, they are empty foods and should not be eaten at all. Condensed milk, as you understand, contains a lot of sugar. The fifth product, my least favorite products, are processed meats, sausages, hot dogs, cured meats, and so on.
I believe that these are the most harmful products, which contain a lot of harmful substances, ranging from nitrosamines to various flavor enhancers and chemicals that are very harmful to our body. I think that these foods, if consumed in excess, cause cancer. If you like sausages, such products, processed meat, then do it at home, at least you will know what goes into it.
And as I promised, I’ll tell you what my breakfast looks like. First off, I want to say that my breakfast looks a little scary. A lot of people, when I post my breakfast on Instagram, they say, “How much do you eat?
” You should take into account that I have breakfast after a ten-meter run every day, almost a minimum of five, a maximum of 12-13 km. And my daily active calorie expenditure is on average 2500-3000. Sometimes it can be up to 6000, but I have to make up for these calories.
My breakfast looks something like this: I eat whole grain porridge, various porridges, barley one day, buckwheat the other day, and I change it all the time. I put five tablespoons of melted butter in the porridge, and I really love ground bird cherry, and that’s why I also eat ground bird cherry. And you can add one tablespoon of butter and ground bird cherry to your porridge, because I like it.
These are also coarse particles that stimulate intestinal function and peristalsis. You can put flax seeds or chia seeds, whatever you like. This is what does not dissolve, such coarse particles, which in the intestines very well begin to irritate the intestinal walls and stimulate peristalsis.
Next, I eat scrambled or hard-boiled eggs, soft-boiled eggs - in different ways, also prepared, but I don’t really like eggs, so about three or four times a week I eat cheesecake or cottage cheese casserole. I eat either some kind of sandwich made from whole grain bread, plus cheese and something else, or even a sandwich with sour cream and ground bird cherry - I also like it. And I definitely drink some kind of juice, just not fruit juice.
I drink either beetroot juice, or leftover juice, or I mix celery with an apple, or they make me a green mix, some greens, some mixed all together and given to me. I love it because it's a source of fiber. Fiber is food for our gut bacteria and in general.
And when after exercise you eat a lot of greens, a lot of fiber, the body quickly recovers. There are also a lot of antioxidants. I eat beets because, well, I pursue such a goal, as if to increase nitric oxide.
Yes, this is a gas that helps our blood vessels work better, and beets are a source of nitrate; they contain a lot of nitrates. But when I drink beetroot juice, gradually, slowly, so as not to immediately swallow, not in one gulp. I drink it and gradually in my mouth, mixing with saliva, the nitrates in my mouth turn into nitrites.
And nitric oxide is synthesized from nitrites in the stomach, I think so, I don’t know, but it helps me, and I’m always cheerful, energetic, and I never skip breakfast. Sometimes, when I get tired of eggs, sandwiches, I can make them with whole grain bread, or with crispbread, or with crackers, so rich, I really like lightly salted red fish, I also really like it, it is a good source of fats and fatty acids. In general, you should always try to diversify your diet and eat live foods rich in nutrients, and minimize.
And in general, if it works out, don’t eat empty foods, I never try to fill up, bake, my stomach and then suffer from many problems, ranging from constipation to insulin resistance and so on, but what I would like to say in the end is very important from the point of view of Tibetan medicine, there are no bad foods, there is an unbalanced diet, and there is a failure to maintain the daily energy balance. You should always consider your caloric intake and daily calorie intake and eat. According to your lifestyle and energy expenditure, if you eat all the good foods that are rich in nutrients, natural, but you do it at the wrong time when you can, and not in the quantity that you can, then all this will be harmful.
