Video Transcript:
I tested 67 different prompts to try to get chat GPT to sound more human most of these so-called humanizing prompts were a complete waste of time but eight of them were absolute game changers and have become part of my Perma prompt set these eight prompts can be categorized into personas personal experience fact insertion perplexity burstiness unlu flavor and audience targeting and when combined together no one will have any clue that your content came from AI in this video I'm going to show you exactly how to make chat GPT sound human but not just any human whoever you want it to be whether that's yourself or your favorite copywriter in the world and make sure to stick around because you'll be able to download all these prompts and get started generating human AF content today in case we haven't met before my name is Matt digy and I'm the founder of multiple SEO businesses as well as an investor and Surfer of which I had a lot of input on the surfer AI tool so as you can imagine I'm super motivated to figure out how to produce the best AI content on the planet Google's helpful content guidelines list off requirements like original information personal experience and easy readability as being important all factors that chat GPT doesn't really do well out of the box unless you give it the right prompts now real quick I want to explain how I tested all these prompts because grading how human content is is pretty damn subjective depending on who you ask so I got some help from you guys I assembled a team of 30 Channel viewers and each time I tried a new prompt I'd ask them to rate the likelihood of the content being zero strongly AI or 10 strongly human the top eight prompts made the cut but to make sure the system works and my testers are AR insane let's establish a Baseline and see how they rate a piece of content that came straight out of chat GPT using my paid account I asked chat GPT to write me a thousand-word article called beginners guide SEO here's what it came up with in the realm of digital marketing mastering the art of search engine optimization sorry I just threw up in my mouth a bit in the realm of is a dead giveaway phrase that AI always uses so as navigating ever evolving and bespoke there's no expertise or emotion in this content it's full of fluff the paragraphs are all the same length there's no life to it at all my Roomba could have done a better job and in the realm of my testing cohort they scored this piece of a 1. 3 pretty damn obvious that it's AI okay so the testing system works let's start grading these humanizing prompts now if you want to download them all so you can start playing around with them today head over to digity marketing. com slh humanizing D promps fill out the form and I'll send you the prompts along with six additional free SEO ebooks let's start with Persona prompts where you not only want your AI to write like a human but a specific person like yourself let's say I wanted to train chat GP to be me my training prompt here's an article I've written you can even input a Google doc here analyze my tone how I form sentences and paragraphs the level of detail I use in explanations the amount of humor I use how often I ask the reader questions the readability level I use the vocabulary I use and the level of emotion I convey in my writing I then ask it to give me a 200-word summary of what it just learned just as a sanity check and as expected it did a good job great actually even picking up that I teach SEO without jargon and in layman's terms something I consciously make an eort to do it also pointed out that I'm a professional but sprinkle in humor I'll let you be the judge of that and I like to add rhetorical questions to engage the reader now to write the content use this exact prompt which took a few hours to perfect based on the writing style analyzed from the provided article create content titled article title at insert your word count ensure that the new content strictly aderes to the author's writing style in terms of tone structure and approach as identified in the analysis all right let's see how it did write off it starts with analogies like SEO being a game that requires a stry here's a metaphor making your website a magnet and here's a rhetorical question all stuff I often do you can also see that there's sentence and paragraph length variation and there's no jargon mission accomplished I sent this over to the testing team and it came out with a 6.
9 which they're pretty confident checks out as human writing you can use these same prompts to train chat GPT to write like you your favorite scientist Elon Musk or freaking Spider-Man but there's one thing it's missing personal experience it knows your style but it doesn't know your stories and opinions that can make this article unique from the other AI trash content out there I like to do this in two ways the first method chat GPT here's my about page insert your about page learn about my experience and stories that qualify me as an author for the content we write also chat gbt here's a personal opinion that will shape how you write your content I don't believe that Google can understand content I think it looks at your content mathematically and Compares it to the top ranking articles to determine if it should rank higher or not and then I ask it to produce the content here's the output it dropped in my history as an electrical engineer in Silicon Valley which suck by the way it also added how I feel about Google understanding content it did go a bit overload with all this crap about circuits so I suggest adding this prompt the integration should be subtle at a level of two out of 10 my test team gave this content an 8. 2 out of 10 which makes sense because chat GPT would have no frecking clue about my engineering experience otherwise also if you're a surfer AI user personal experience and additional knowledge can be added using the custom knowledge feature by the way here's a quick word from the sponsor of this video search intelligence this campaign got us big links in websites such as life hacker Wells Online daily record and about 20 other news websites let me show you how we've done it we knew that people will be flying a lot this summer and we knew that journalists will be writing about this topic a lot so on behalf of our client we put together a nice guide about how to fall asleep on the plane then we use mrack to find journalists who write about travel then we put our advice in a nice email and send the tips to the journalists within just a few days the links started Landing securing our client naturally Replacements in really big websites just like this this and this this is a great example about how you can leverage seasonal Trends to earn links to a website anticipate what journalists want to write about at all times and give them the stories that they need they will reward you with some great juicy links I hope this is helpful now back to the video our next prompt is to encourage perplexity if you looked that AI content enough you'll start to be able to smell it from a mile away I smell a robot that's because it uses the same weird ass words and phrases all the time words that no normal human being uses in today's digital era to navigate The Art of SEO you must unlock the secrets of digitalization holy just please shut up here's your gigachad prompt to fix this it's a big one don't always use the most natural words use the following words fewer than three times on this page unique andure utmost and thanks to channel viewer Frank alivo for this Mega list of words and phrases to avoid meticulous meticulously navigating blah blah blah and even our friend in the realm of look at how good this content came out no goofy ass sentences the content is more concise and there's also an unexpected side effect that the content is more bursty which I'll explain soon the team gave this content a 6. 5 out of 10 okay now let's talk about burstiness and how to prompt for it when writing humans don't stick to the same pattern when it comes to sentence length and paragraph length the perplexity prompt helps out a bunch but here's a specific burstiness prompt ensure heterogenous paragraphs ensure heterogenous sentence lengths and stick to primarily short straight forward sentences and sure enough we have short sentences in our output we have long sentences long paragraphs short paragraphs we got it all the team scored this a 5.
5 which is still on the human side but at the end of the day burstiness isn't as humanizing as what we have next fact insertion okay here's the deal Chad gpd's models are trained up until January 2022 so if your content needs any facts that happened since then you're out of luck or if you're trying to produce content that is fact dense you're at the mercy of chat GPT which tends to produce fluffy content oh hell no here's your prompt to fix this fact number one the average salary for an SEO specialist in 2024 is $62,000 per year fact number two as of the current month there are 8,32 SEO jobs available on LinkedIn please use these facts when creating your content and Bam now we have a compelling introduction that hooks the reader because it's using recent and informative data my test team gave this content an 8. 3 out of 10 because they know that chat GPT is ignorant of these statistics that said one or two facts isn't enough to have a complete and compelling in article and manually adding 20 facts takes a lot of time and research which kind of defeats the point of AI automation right so what Surfer AI does is looks at the top ranking articles for your keyword and extracts hundreds and thousands of different facts from these articles and automatically inserts the most compelling ones into your generated article next let's talk about fluffing oh my God my bad let's call it unfl fluffing where you're making sure that every word in your content is actually valuable let's go back to that piece of poo poo content that came out of chat GPT without any human izing prompts just look at this intro paragraph this whole thing is absolutely devoid of any information it's all fluff let's fix that chat GPD do not include any fluff when producing content each sentence should provide value to the overall goal of the content piece strictly follow this guideline and just like that exactly as Chad gbd pointed out here's a concise beginner overview to SEO with no fluff and jam-packed with actionable advice 7. 1 out of 10 from the team next we have flavor prompts humans have fun when they write robots don't it's a dead giveaway ch gbt engagement is the highest priority be conversational empathetic and occasionally humorous use idioms metaphors anecdotes and natural dialogue how good is this diving into the world of SEO is like learning to swim in the digital ocean it might seem a bit daunting at first with all the jargon and technicalities but hey even the best swimmers started with floaties right 7.
8 out of 10 next we have audience targeting prompts by default chat GPT writes for you know what I don't even know who that content is meant for but like most humans when you write you have a specific audience in mind here's your prompt to fix that my target audience has the following characteristics one insert demographic information two insert tone preferences and three lastly insert reading level preference as you can see it did pretty damn good especially with tone and reading level six out of 10 when you combine all these prompts together you end up with a pretty damn human sounding piece of content maybe even better than a human but the problem with all this prompting especially the manual stuff like Gathering dozens of facts and data for your content or inputting the details about your target audience for each article you write is that it takes time and it's subjective as well if you're writing a piece of content on how to maximize air mile points when traveling how to even know which facts are true or how do you know what the target audience wants well the answer is already on page one of Google Google put those articles there for a reason because people like them if you were to analyze and dissect the top ranking articles for air mile points you'd learn about all the best domestic Airlines International Airlines and which hotels have the best reward points you could also extract the reading level that is best for this audience and what tone resonates best this is what Surfer AI does it'll also extract out what critical words phrases and entities were used in the top ranking articles and at what frequencies or in other words the SEO optimization factors that got these articles to the top of Google in the first place so what you end up with is a humanized article that's ready to upload and do well on Google to claim $100 worth of free Surfer AI credits no strings attached head on over to Surfer seo.
