let me tell you the story of how I realized that studying more was ruining my grades so last year I wanted to be first in maths in my school when you're ranked first in a subject you get an award and I really wanted it for maths but I was so close and failed 0.03% away from being first I took that personally and at the start of this year I wanted a good head start so I started studying for hours a day I studied so much maths that on the same day I had my science exam
I barely studied I just did 30 minutes to 20 minutes of studying in total and when I got my mathematic results I got a B I was Far Behind from where I wanted to be but in science I was first 100% for the exam I barely studied for and that made me realize that studying more is not better but studying more efficiently is a cheat code to destroy your peer so in this video I'm going to show you three ways that studying less is more effective and how to be efficient with it now the first
mistake that you're making is trying to study too much picture this two people have an exam that they're studying for one person sits down says I only have 30 minutes to learn this the other person says I have to study for 2 hours now the second person is going to put a timer on do the work for a bit and lose focus they're going to think about when that time is ending and they're going to find it Dreadful they set themselves an impossible goal and evidently didn't reach it now the other person set a limit
on their work so that Not only would it be less likely for them to lose concentration but they also tried to do as much work as they could within this time frame and since they only had 30 minutes they targeted what they really need to do so when you have your next exam don't tell yourself to reach an impossible goal when it comes to how much you study because you'll fail and get disheartened instead give yourself a limit you can easily break and that way you easily achieve it you'll be more motivated to study and
you'll actually concentrate within that time frame now the next mistake you're making when you study too much is looking at the clock rather than your work profound I know but what I mean by this is that you're focusing too much on the time and not enough on the task let me give you an example when I was studying for my exam and I was studying for maths I would always sit down and say I need to study this topic for 2 hours now when I did this I most likely got burnt out I lost Focus
after 15 minutes and I couldn't actually do as much work as I wanted to do sure I sat there and I tried to work for 2 hours but at least 1 hour of that was not concent Tred flow work whereas with science I would sit down and tell myself I'm not getting up until I understand this brief concept now although I may have sat down for 30 minutes 45 minutes even that was 30 to 40 minutes of high quality work where I didn't look at a clock but I only looked at the task in front
of me so next time you're studying for an exam don't look at the clock look at the task and you'll find it much easier to focus now the final thing I recommend menend is one of the most important things going into my Math's exam I was so nervous my heart was racing my hands were shaking and I was sweating for a mere test I was so worried that I was going to do bad my stress was so high whereas in the science exam it didn't matter what Mark I got cuz I knew that I knew
most of the content and I didn't actually care about my mark so go going into the max exam I made so many silly mistakes and forgot so much whereas in the science exam I remembered everything perfectly and I didn't make a single Sil mistake I was in full concentration the entire exam the only difference between these two exams is that walking into the max exam I was stressed and for the science exam I wasn't so evidently no matter how much studying you do if you're stressed you're not going to do well now there are a
couple things that you can do to lower your stress visualization breathing counting down meditation praying just find something that lowers your stress levels what I recommend is breathing heavy deep breathing even double breaths can lower your stress levels so much as well as a good meal and most importantly is to not set high goals when you're setting goals study to get 100% but set a goal of only 80% or 70% if you know you can easily achieve it your stress will be so much less with that science exam I didn't really care about my Mark
and I didn't set a higher goal for science I only wanted a b and for maths I wanted 100% And that Stress and Anxiety of whether I'd get the 100% in maths caus me to do worse whereas in the science that lack of stress caus me to do better so if there's anything that you should focus on before an exam it's to lower your stress because the silly mistakes it causes can be the difference from you getting an A or C these techniques are proven to work so use them wisely and if instead of studying
for hours at a time you are going to waste that time anyways then don't use these techniques if you want to learn how how to use boredom to get straight A and hack the school system watch this video here thank you for your time and use it wisely
