On that day, many will say to me, Lord, Lord, do we not prophesy in your name? And cast out demons in your name? And do many mighty works in your name?
For them the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved. Is a move of God It's a step of faith. Because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.
Hey guys, Welcome back DLM family. Today, I'm answering one of your questions. The question is - will some people be punished in Hell more than others?
In other words, will there be different degrees of punishment in hell? Now people have different opinions about this but we have to look at what the Bible says. And the first thing we see very clearly is that people will be punished because of what they have done, based on what they have done.
Matthew 16:27: For the Son of man is going to come with the angels in the glory of His Father and then he will repay each person according to what he has done. So we will all be judged. Those who rejected Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, who decided they don't want to follow the light, they want to follow the darkness - that is what they will receive.
Eternal darkness. And they will be judged for what they did on earth. All the evil.
And also, those who accepted Jesus Christ, will also be judged. Now a lot of you are probably like, what Daniel? We will be judged too?
Well, wait. You will be judged because of your eternal rewards that you will receive. And guess what.
That is also based on what you have done. 2 Corinthians 5:10: For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ Remember this judgment seat. I'll talk about this in a little bit.
So that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body whether good or evil. Now for children of God, if you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you will also be judged. But it's a different type of judgment.
In theology there's a specific name for it. That we call it. It's the judgment seat of Christ.
Also known as the Bema Seat - so you can know that you will receive rewards based on what you did here on earth. That's why Jesus said in Matthew 6:19: Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven. Now, there are many other passages in Scripture that refers to this.
Where believers will receive rewards. But let me get back to the original question. Are there different degrees of punishment in hell?
We'll look at this passage, where the Bible talks about false prophets. 2 Peter 2:1: But false prophets also arose among the people just as there will be false teachers among you. Verse 17: These are waterless springs and mists driven by a storm.
Now here it comes. Listen closely. For them specifically, for them the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved.
So basically it's saying not just the darkness, but the gloom of utter darkness. So to me this does seem like there's a degree of punishment here. James 3:1 also says: Not many of you should become teachers my brothers for you know that we who teach will be judged with greater strictness.
So James is talking to believers here who want to teach and who do teach and they need to know that they will be judged with stricter judgment. Now this does not refer to the punishment in hell, right? But there are different degrees of judgment that we can see here.
So there will be different degrees I believe also when you go to hell as it already said that for those false teachers, you know, the utter darkness, the gloom of utter darkness is reserved. Now I also need to say this. I can't say it with 100 percent conviction that this is the case, but I can say this is what I think.
The judgment James is talking about here is for the believers. And it's more focused on their eternal reward, so I know I got to be very very careful with what I preach as well. It needs to be God's Word.
I can't just preach what I want to preach because Scripture says that we will be judged for every careless word we speak. Today there are so many people even online who always think they know the best and they always preach to other people what they should do. Be very careful.
Also if you become a Christian and now suddenly you want to be a missionary or a preacher, make sure that it's God's will for you first before you just act in that will and if it's part of your own will from your soul level it's very dangerous. Make sure God calls you to do it and then for all you preachers out there, make sure that when you speak to people do not take that position lightly. Share the gospel in truth with love through the Spirit.
You will be judged if you do it wrongly. Let me also read this verse for you. Jesus says in Matthew 12:36: I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak.
Now, even though some of these verses, like James refers to the Bema judgment of believers. It still shows us that there are different degrees of judgment. Some will be judged more stricter than others and so I believe this will be the same for hell as well because God is righteous.
Read this with me: And I saw the dead great and small, standing before the throne and books were opened then another book was opened which is The Book of Life and the dead were judged by what was written in the books according to what they had done. Jesus also explains this in Luke, where we will be judged based on what we knew 12:35 he says: Stay dressed for action and keep your lamps burning and be like men who are waiting for their master to come home from the wedding feast so that they may open the door to him at once when he comes and knocks. So here, Jesus continues to talk and He is referring to His second coming.
Then we read in Verse 48: But the one who did not know and did what deserved a beating will receive a light beating. Alright, so this person will receive a beating, but a light beating? So this is a degree of punishment.
Everyone to whom much was given of him much will be required and from him to whom they entrusted much they will demand the more. Now a lot of people ask, but what about people who never heard the gospel? Well, those who never heard the gospel according to Romans will be judged based on the moral law that God has put in their heart, so they know right between wrong and then how they reacted to that knowledge.
But they are still judged based on what Jesus did on the cross even if they do not know about it because what Jesus did on the the cross may be counted to them and then those who did hear about Him will be judged by what they knew and what they did with that information. A great example: Luke 10. Read Verse 8 with me.
Whenever you enter a town and they receive you eat what is set before you. heal the sick in it and say to them the kingdom of God has come near to you. In other words, share the gospel with them.
Tell them of Jesus Christ with miracles giving them evidence. But if they reject it what's going to happen? Well, let's continue to read.
Verse 10: But whenever you enter a town and they do not receive you go into it streets and say even the dust of your town that clings to our feet we wipe off against you nevertheless know this, that the kingdom of God has come near I tell you it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town. Wow, so if people reject Jesus in a town like this, they will receive harsher punishment for those people in Sodom and Gomorrah. I believe it's because now they live in the New Testament .
They can know who Jesus is, the Messiah that was prophesied. Now, they see the apostles, the miracles. They have so much more evidence.
And what do they do with that evidence if they still reject it their punishment will be more, harsher than the people of Sodom and Gomorrah. And you know, today we have the full Bible. We know everything that happened in the Old Testament, the New Testament and man, we are without excuse.
Because we read about all the prophecies in the Old Testament and we see it coming true in the New Testament and even up to this day, even that Israel became a nation in 19 - I think it was 48 or 49, was prophesied. It is shocking that there are still so many lukewarm Christians today with all that we have. Maybe a lot of people have grown too used to it and they don't appreciate God's Word anymore.
You know, God says in Revelation 3:16: Because you are lukewarm and neither hot nor cold I will spit you out of my mouth. Many people today claim to be Christians but they might not be. And a big part of my ministry, what God called me to do, is to share the gospel in truth and love, so that people will understand what a true reborn Christian really is, because we live in a time where a lot of people say they are Christians but they're not.
A lot of people have grown so used to the gospel that now they say they're Christians but they use grace as a ticket to sin and to live in their sinful pleasures. Jesus warns us very clearly in Matthew 7:22. Even preachers and people who cast out demons.
Jesus will say - go away from me - I never knew you. And those people, if you are listening to this video, you need to know that your judgment will be harsh because you know the truth, what are you doing with it? If you're not a true reborn Christian, you will go to hell.
Eternal punishment. Let me read it. Jesus says in Matthew 7: 21: Not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven.
But the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven on that day many will say to me Lord, Lord, do we not prophesy in your name and cast out demons in your name and do many mighty works in your name and then I will declare to them I never knew you; depart from me you workers of lawlessness. I'm saying this to you because I love you. Time is running out.
Right now you still live in a time of grace. But when you die, it is up, it is done. Where are you going?
Are you 100 percent sure that you have eternal life? This is the biggest decision that you can make. More important than the person you marry, or the career you go into, because this has eternal consequences.
Think about it. How many people in your family died? Where are your grandparents and their parents and their parents?
Do people even know about people who lived in the 1600s, 1700s, we who live here today ? Generations of people came before us. Today they're all gone.
In the ground, most of them, just dust and that is where we are headed. And we are so used to this world and the things of this world that we don't realize that we are so focused on it that we don't realize our time is running out. Every tick on that clock is a tick closer to your death.
Are you ready to meet God? If you want to make sure, please watch one of these videos here. I'll see you there.
And never forget, that God loves you. That's why we have His grace and you live in this time of grace. I love you too.
Make the right decision while you still have time. Bye guys.
