Two passengers from Canada airport M. Singh and L. Singh.
go to the airport with bomb in their bag. The whole thing was named as Hindu invasion by their media. Some white female candidates also wore salwar kameez, and start serving in the Gurudwara These terrorist groups later did something that the whole world got shocked 20th June of 1985, Talwinder Singh gets a call the person on other side asks, "Did you write the story?
" the answer from here The normal sikh who sends his kids by earning money. BJP party said that the person from Noida will get the ticket who If Punjab's sikh is saying that there is a problem of electricity in Punjab or its MSP should increase. Or Unemployment then this simply means.
A trick was used which resulted in no discrimination and sikhs did not even come See of India's total population, 1. 72% are sikhs. Whereas Canada's total population has 2.
1% sikhs. Considering percentage wise, they are more than in India. And Canadian parliament has more sikhs than Indian parliament.
Now the thing is what events transpired, that sikhs had to migrate to Canada. That too in such a big number. In Indian history, what's the connection between Sikh and Canada.
How did this Khalistan movement started outside of India? And what are the circumstances that Cananda's politicians had to stay quiet about Khalistan See all of this started in the year 1897 at that time both India and Canada were under the control of britishers And both were british colony. Now since there were whites in Canda, the way britishers treated Indians, was not the same as Canadians.
Comparing to India, people in Canada were much free, and Canada's development was more than India. So what happens is, on the 22nd of June 1897 Queen Victoria's diamond jubilee was to be celebrated in UK. And the british army also had Sikh regiment.
Which was lead by Resaldar Major Kesur Singh. So in the celebration of Queen Victoria's diamond jubilee, the sikh army of the british regiment will also join this. And they had to go by ship and because other country's soldiers were also in ship The army had to go through Vancouver, Canada when returning.
So they leave in May 1897. Attend the celebration at 22nd of June. And these are the photos of the ceremeny of that time.
And when the celebration ends, they reach Vancouver which is in Canada. Now all in the sikh regiment, including Kesur Singh, they liked Canada a lot. And after going back, they told a lot of people about Canada in his community.
How people live there, what opportunities are there, what level of freedom is there told them about all of this. Major Kesur Singh who lead the regiment, he is also believed to be the first Sikh settler in Canada. Now what happens, in Canada there was work in agriculture, railways and mines and labour was required there.
So right after one month, when they get another chance, labour from Punjab and some british soldiers, they reach british columbia of Canada. To do work and get back after earning money. See this is Canada from India, and this side is british columbia in this side of Canada and this side is Ontario.
So mainly migration happened in these places. Even if you see now, sikhs are more in these places of Canada. So this is the photo of when they reach there.
Now the whites in Canada, they already used to work in a lot of money and when they reached there, they did more work in less amount. So they became the first preference of the company. And seeing this, the local population became uncomfortable.
Because their job came in danger. And here, even though the money was less for indians, but even that was very much for them. And more than that, indians felt freedom for the first time in Canda.
And saw how it feels like to work free. Because they were not able to work like that in India. Recently many companies have laid off.
Now if you are not skilled, either you won't get a job, or you can lose your current job. There's a free way that you can grow fast in your business. That too with learning two most in-demand skills.
Firstly, how you can use LinkedIn. Not just to get a job but to generate leads for your business. Also making your personal brand.
Second is AI and ChatGPT. You can do your work 10x faster by mastering it. And for that I will personally recommend you three hour paid workshop of Growth School.

I have myself attended this workshop and I will give it 5 out of 5. LinkedIn workshop has been taken by 70,000 people. Thousands have got a job and grew their business and much more.
And ChatGPT has been taken by 4 lakh people. So whichever working professional, founder or freelancer, this workshop is for you. This is free only for the first 1000 people.
So quickly register, link is in the description, so let's get back to the topic. And when they reach Punjab back from Canada. Then word spread around Punjab that Canada has lots of opportunities.
There are many ways to earn there. And there's more money than here, more freedom also. The houses from which sikhs went to Canada, slowly those houses moved forward due to rise in money.
So people from here, especially from Punjab, tried to work in Canada. Initially everyone's plan was to earn money there, and get back to India. Basically they were not thinking of leaving India.
After this, coming year 1908, 5200 people reached Canada. 90% of them were sikh, this is year wise data. Now see the sikhs earning money there, working there for less money due to this local people got less preference.
And they did not like this. So the whole thing was named as Hindu invasion by the media. Local people there called everyone Hindu there.
Whether it was sikh or from other community. If they were brown, they would be called Hindu. And the local people, when there talks of them voting, they stopped that, this is the article from that time.
But one thing, even after going there, the sikhs did not leave their culture. Like they would speak in punjabi, connected to the Punjab in India. They even opened Gurudwara by collecting money.
And no matter the country of the person, it was open for free buffet. They did not do big jobs there, only small jobs, but even after that, as Gurudwaras were running in India. They were the same there.
First Gurudwara was opened in 1905, after that the second one was opened in 1908. And because of these Gurudwaras, the whole sikh community was connected. Everyone would meet at the time of prayer.
And there would be comfortable for someone coming from India, there was no pressure of finding a job quickly. They would get a little time to find a job. And the already living sikh community in Canada wanted more people to come from India.
Now the sikh community that was earning money by working double, they started having competition with local people in Canada. And that was the reason that the people already working there, were not happy with the sikh community, they started discriminating with them due to this, because they didn't have voting rights, even the politicians supported the local people. And this thing rose so much that in year 1907, riots happened in Vancouver lot of people lost lives, got wounded.
This is the image from that time, and after these riots, the local people were in anger they pressured their politicians a lot about them infiltrating their country and getting their jobs there must be strict policy for them, otherwise you won't get any votes. After making continuous pressure for 2 years, canadian politicians and local authority came in action, and made a very strict policy And it got so bad that the no of Indians that were coming to India got down to 6 by the year 1909. Now they had made the policy.
But the local authority had to compulsorily take permission from UK. Now the problem with UK was they couldn't do discrimination due to colour. Could not impose any restrictions.
Canada and India both were british colonies. So they couldn't discriminate. So the solution for that, a trick was used.
Due to which discrimnation was prevented and even the sikhs stopped coming. They passed some laws, first, any immigrant who would come to Canada, must have 200 dollars. This was too much for that time.
An indians average earning was 10 cents, so giving 200 dollars was a big thing for them While this amount was very less for other countries. Other thing, no ship was direct from India to Canda. It was a long route.
So they had to stop in between. So they took advantage of that, they imposed a rule that only those people can from the countries who have a continuous journey from their citizenship country. That is without stopping anywhere.
And the third rule was that the tickets to get to Canada, have to be bought before getting on the journey. And this was done so that the britishers could falter the tickets early. This is the original order of that time.
Now one issue from this was that no one could come from India. And second problem was that, indians already living in Canada were cut-off from their family, they could not meet them after getting to Canada. So all of these rules stopped indians from getting to Canada.
There was so much gap, people couldn't meet their families, so those living in Canada also came back to India. From year 1908-1911, british columbia got half the population of indians. And this happened for many years.
But in between all this an incident happens, due to which even after so much restrictions, a sikh took birth in the land of Canada, and even got citizenship there. Actually there was a sikh named Balwant Singh who came in Canada in 1906. after some time when he settled in Canada.
So in year 1912, his wife was also coming to Canada. But due to the canadian rules, his wise was detained at the border of Canada. That is, stopped on the border itself.
And for many days, her case went on in the court. But since his wise was pregnant. So she could not be sent back in that state in a long journey.
So the Canada authority called it 'act of grace' and gave permission to live in Canada. And on 28th of August, year 1912, she has a son, whose name was Hardiyal Singh Atwal. He was born in the sikh temple of Vancouver.
He was the first example of sikh family formation in Canada. And this is the family's original image. Now year 1914 comes, a sikh businessman Gurjit Singh was very rich and his links were also very good.
He said that canadian authority is discriminating with them, and until they won't challenge this thing in Canada, until then canadian ways will not be open for us. So he rented a ship from Hong Kong. Whose name was Komagata Maru and took total of 376 indians, in which most were sikh.
This is the image. And he even gave the sikh 200 dollars, so that rule could be followed. Now when this shop is going, this information is leaked, and reaches Canada.
Even canadian news publishes that brown people are coming this way. And they start calling that as brown invasion. So before this ship reached Canada, the canadian authority started its legal work.
The sikhs in Canada wanted this ship to come in Canada and for the people to reach here. Because even their family was on this. But when this ship reaches Canada.
It is stopped there, the authority says that the ship is not following the rule. And this ship had 376 people, oh which only 23 were allowed in Canada. Everyone else was not rejected.
And the people in the ship remained there for 2 months, they even fought legal battle, but after 2 months, Canada sent the ship back. Now this ship reached Calcutta in 26th of September. So the britishers first searched everything, then they didn't want all of those people to remain in Calcutta together So they wanted to send them to Punjab via train.
But Gurjit Singh denied going in the train. He said that we have Guru Grant Sahib. But when they were sent forcibly, then fight started and britishers started firing for this.
In which 23-40 people lost their lives. This was such a huge incident that on May 2008, British Columbia passed a motion and apologized for the passengers of Komagata Maru passengers. You might've seen recently, on the occasion of 108th anniversary of Komagata Maru incident.
Canadian Prime minister - Justin Trudeau had also apologized for that incident. During this time India, the exploitation of the Britishers in India kept on increasing. Even though the Sikh community, was living abroad to earn money but they were very patriotic regarding India.
And this was the time, when lot of Sikhs left Canada and reached India to fight against them. And the Sikhs left in Canada - remained there & started a movement against Britishers. And firstly, in year 1913 - Jwala Singh and Lala Hardayal Singh found a place in U.
S & made an organisation named - Pacific Coast Hindustan Association. The motive behind making this was that - The Indians of U. S.
& Canada - will start a movement against Britishers together and raise their voice. So that, India can get freedom. So, first of all - they opened a printing press at 436 - Hill Street and started publishing weekly newspapers - named - The Gadar.
This newspaper played a huge role, set a huge narrative they united people. People talk about it even today. So, in this press Har Dayal Singh would do the printing and Kartar Singh looked after the entire operation of the printing & sometimes he would even write.
So, on 1st of November 1913 they publish their first newspaper titled - Angrezi Raj ka Dushman. This title - was written in every newspaper that was published. They gave varied declarations in this newspaper.
that they need brave soldiers to stir up rebellion in India. They published the article like a job in which - they wrote Pay- along with death. And the price would be - Martyrdom.
And pension would be Liberty. And the field of Battle would be India. This newspaper started becoming famous in the world quickly & it became so famous that - this party - Pacific Coast Hindustan Association people started itself the Gadar.
they made a poster separately as well that was put up in Punjab - in which it was written jang-da-hoka means the declaration of their war. Now, after 1 year - in 1914 - when World War I starts, the leader of Gadar party thought that - this is the best time to snatch freedom from the Britishers. Gadar party on 22nd August 1914 went to India themselves & all the immigrants in the rest of the world told them to reach India.
This made a huge impact. So, Canada, U. S.
, Hong Kong, Shanghai all the Indians from all over the world returned India. The situation led only 965 Sikhs to be left in Canada. The impact of Gadar party was very large.
In future, Britishers slowed them down but this revolution sparked a fire in India, which was further led by Bhagat Singh & rest of the freedom fighters. Now, after fighting lot of battles - we do get the freedom but after the independence, India was fighting with lot of problems. India was fighting with food shortage as well, so Indians started going Canada again.
But restrictions were imposed so they found an illegal way which was Washington British Colombia Border. But further, Canada gets the information about it & this path was closed as well. Now, after this - comes the year 1961.
And Liberal party in Canada - whose leader is Justin Trudeau, currently. This party comes to power, which was very soft regarding immigrants. They promoted free speech & liberty & after their arrival - it became easy for Indian Sikhs to go to Canada.
Because they made the restrictions very easy - after this party in year 1981 more than 67000 had reached Canada & more than 33000 Sikhs got permanent residency. And this number was increasing very quickly day by day. Canada was also allowing so much immigration - because - they had their compulsion they need lot of workforce & that too who can work in less payment.
So, until 1980s - Sikhs became a bug influential community but even after that - they didn't want to leave their culture. They would try to bring India Sikhs to Canada & they would help people wanting to come to Canada from Punjab. In many cases, it was seen that they even did fake marriages.
Let me explain you a real life example - this is a real story - I'm just changing names in it. There was a man named Balwant - who was in Indian Army and he took early retirement in 1970 & started teaching in a village school and did B. Ed along with it.
But he didn't get a job after doing B. Ed After that he reached Canada somehow & settled there. Now, Balwant's friend's brother - Harpreet - arrived Canada who was an engineer, so he easily got the immigration.
And after a few days, he further married a white woman - Ashley Now, 4 years after this in 1974, Balwant came back to India & married and even brought his wife to Canada and helped her to get immigration. The matter doesn't stops here - Balwant's friend - Simarjeet - who was along with him in Army he was his colleague. He came to Canada with Visitors visa but didn't get he immigration.
So, Harpreet who arrived earlier, who married Ashley. Divorced Ashley and married her to Simarjeet. Now, due to marrying a canadian woman, Simarjeet got the citizenship as well.
And after some time - he divorced Ashley again and she married Harpreet again. And further, Balwant brought every member of his family & even relatives - some way or the other. So, by doing this - even if one person goes out of the village to Canada then the entire village settles down.
So, slowly - the Sikh community was becoming stringer in Canada but they maintained their link with India. Time to time - they used to call Punjabi Singers, Politicians, writers - the famous people - to their programs. They used to organise more functions related to their culture in Canada.
All these things still prevail - they are totally connected with Indian Politics. And the artist that they call - their entire trip is also sponsored. Now, you might've a question that - people from so many countries visit India & Sikh comprises of 2% of the population in Canada.
But, how are they so important in the Canadian Politics? So, what happened was -- in 1943, 12 influential Sikhs talked to the Premier of British Columbia John Hart. They said that - we've been working for so long, we're supporting every sector of Canada, we play an important role in every sector.
In fact, when world war 2 was fought - South Asian soldiers had fought & if we won't get the voting right, then be it us or our coming generation they'll remain to be the second class citizens in Canada forever. So, after 2 years of continuous fighting in 1945, a law was passed & until 1947 - they got the voting rights. And the Sikh community understood its important very well, where the Japanese citizens wouldn't even vote.
But Sikh people participated in Voting enthusiastically, to the point that when it was the time of Voting it was even announced in Gurudwaras' that voting is your right & do vote. Now, how did Sikh entered Canadian politics for this - you need to understand the Canadian election framework. Elections held in Canada isn't held like U.
S. - there're multiple parties here. So, if a party has to give a ticket to a candidate in a particular area then this decision is take by different activities.
For example, the party will tell them to bring signatures of these many people. For others, they'll tell that - the campaign should be this big. In most of the cases, one who gets the most number of signatures gets the ticket.
Bringing signatures means - going out and bringing signatures & joining them to the party. Like suppose, BJP party is there - they said that, he'll get the ticket from Noida who will bring the most signatures. And this is just one topic - secondly, Canada's political party' president or who'll become the head of the party is decided by the vote of all the members.
Suppose, all the members of BJP, big - small every member - everyone will vote that who'll become the president of the party. How powerful the politician be - or be anyone's son but the person who gets the most vote will be the president. So, there's a similar process in Canada.
In this, Sikh community is 2. 1 % but they remain in close connection in Canada due to gurudwara. They select one person & all the signatures is given to him, they don't divide.
On the other hand, if we talk about any other country - Japan and all then they aren't much connected. And in Canadian politics, a single party doesn't get all the majority votes. So, they need the support of the Sikh community.
Talking about recent scenario, then in Canada - be it Liberal Party or conservative party - none of them got majority that's why the decision to make a king maker was done by Jagmeet singh's NDP party. And Jagmeet singh has a say in NDP party, he became the head of the party because - he signed up 47,000 new members and made them join. And when it was decided that who'll be the leader of NDP, then at that time, total among 1,24,000 - more than 35,000 votes were given to Jagmeet singh.
3 times more than the runner up. You can imagine how Sikh community is politically strong in Canada that among 338 MP's of Canada - 18 are Sikhs & if we compare it to India then among 543 seats in India, 13 MP's are Sikh - along with this, the high level charities done in gurudwaras Langar, the teachings about social service to small children. Due to this, The image of Sikh is very good.
Canada's politician, who were earlier ignoring political power got to know its importance later. The condition was that, some white female candidates had started serving in gurudwaras while wearing Salwar Kameez with which they could get Sikhs votes. Even if you see today, then all the politically active whites in Canada can be seen in gurudwara.
So, the Sikhs in Canada were settling now. The relations with Indian government was also better. They were also connect with the people of Punjab but the time between the year 1980-90 the migrations that happened during this time from India to Canada.
was very high & among them - there were people were migrating with anger. Its biggest reason was - Punjab's political situation. Due to the clash between Bhindranwale & Indian Government, Punjab suffered lot of violence.
I've already covered the entire story in my older video. What was the reason behind it & what was the issue regarding Hindi & Punjabi language Anandpur Sahib resolution - I've talked about everything in that video - so do check it out. So, there was a dis-satisfaction regarding all these matters - so, suddenly, on 12 oct 1971 Jagjeet Singh Chauhan - published an article in New York times in which he stated that Sikhs are being discriminated in India, they want a separate nation named Khalistan.
and I'm the president of Khalistan. Nobody took it seriously in the beginning but in year 1980 - 1990, the violence caused in Punjab. due to that, some people got the idea of Khalistan.
In 1984, you know that Operation Bluestar was carried out when Indian Army had to enter into Golden Temple & it was damaged during emergency. Indira Gandhi was shot dead. After that, Sikhs were killed in Delhi.
And the people behind Delhi riots didn't even get punished. So, I've explained all these things in the older videos - you know that but due to all these incidents, during that particular time - Sikh's Indian Nationalist Sentiment was slowly getting converted to Punjabi Nationalist Sentiment. And this was the time, in which a huge Sikh migration took place from India To Canada.
In 1971 - there were around 35,000 people in Canada. On the other hand, in 1981 - it increased to more than 67000 & in 1991 it reached more than 1. 5 lakhs and the Sikhs that went abroad during this time - the ones who migrated - didn't have good visuals about India in their memory.
They saw Golden Temple & Delhi riots. More than 20,000 people died in the clash of Khalistan & Indian Government. There was a time, when Punjab state was so rich but during this time, its economy has decreased drastically.
And the Sikhs living outside of India, had anger stirring within them. That they didn't get justice. After operation Blue Star - in Canada's Vancouver there were lot of Sikh protests.
During this time, lot of Sikh protestors blocked the entrance of Indian consulate in Vancouver. And this was the time, some groups outside India increased the demand for Khalistan. With time, Indian Government - understood the sentiments of the Sikhs of Punjab reached out to them & tried to please them.
And they were almost successful but the Sikhs who went abroad during these riots and the entire Sikh community outside of India, the Indian Government never tried to reach out to them or make them understand. And the ones who lived abroad, the news that they got was negative. Lot of steps taken by Indian Government in a positive way even those things couldn't reach them.
The news delivered by the Western Media - was mostly negative about riots or poverty. And what I'm talking about is that not all NRIs living abroad were doing same. I'm talking about specific groups who left India during that time.
Now, Canada had some genuine emigration cases but some people - used it in a wrong way. It was easy to get migration through Asylum, so, many people brought a letter in which it stated that - They're facing injustice, so that they get the asylum & migration easily. Going to Canada through Asylum and U.
S was becoming a trend - if a Punjabi politician writes a letter then it was easier to get the asylum, so this trend went on for a long time. Whatever happened during that time in that Punjab, after which many terrorist groups outside of India like Babbar Khalsa became active. They were giving public threats to take the revenge of 1984.
And then these terrorist groups further, did something which shivered the whole world. Babbar Khalsa International, led by Talwinder Singh parmar - while sitting in Canada started planning to take revenge. In June 1985, when operation blue star completed its one year during that time, Rajiv Gandhi went to America to find the solution of these organizations.
And during this time, Parmar and Ajaib Singh Bagdi from India - reach Canada together. And give a hint while making a speech at a gurudwara that - people should not travel with AIR India. But that time, people couldn't understand these things - that why are they saying this.
Some people thought that it is said so to boycott India but that wasn't the case. RAW gave back-to-back inputs from India to the Indian Government that Talwinder Singh Parmar is going to do something big against India that's why give him to us. Actually, Talwinder had k*lled two police officers in Punjab and went to Canada in 1970, that's why India was asking him from Canada.
During that time, Justin Trudeau's father was the P. M. - as now Justin Trudeau refused to give Nijjar his father did the same.
He refused to give Talwinder, but he did one thing that he put Talwinder's call under survillience. On 20 June 1985, Talwinder singh receives a call - in which the person on the other side says - Did you write the story? He replies - No!
So, Parmar says - First, write the story. Basically, they're talking about buying the flight tickets of Air India but nobody could understand at that moment. Now, comes the date 23rd of June, 1985 two passengers from Canada airport - M.
Singh and L. Singh - go to airport with a bomb in their bag. L.
Singh checked in his bag in Tokyo and M. Singh checks in his bag in the flight going to Delhi via London, named - Emperor Kanishka and after some time - both of them vanishes from the airport - it wasn't known until now that who were these people. The bag kept for Tokyo which was checked-in exploded before it was loaded on the plane.
because they had difficulty in understanding the time zone. But the other bag was loaded on the plane & when it reaches near Ireland - then the bag explodes. 329 people lose their lives.
After this, CBI enquiry is carried out in which it was stated that - it was done by Babbar Khalsa International. whose master mind was Talwinder singh parmar. The bomb was made by Inderjeet Singh, but its a shocking fact that except Inderjeet Singh, nobody was punished.
Canada fined Talwinder singh with only $2000 dollars. But further, Talwinder singh reached India through Pakistan in 1992 and the Punjab Police at that time encounters him. Even after this, the terrorist group remain active.
Punjab's C. M. - Beant SIngh Babbar Khalsa got him killed by blaming him for the current situation of Punjab.
All these situations that I'm telling you, that there's a huge difference between an NRI Sikh and Khalistani Sikh Whoever leaves India and goes to Canada - themselves have lot of problems, they have to dela with lot of things. Its not easy to leave the family and your country. People send their children to study abroad through loan they have to manage their education - living expenses they don't have much time to talk about a new country.
This entire matter is of only one generation who became a radical during the dark days of Punjab and started settling in Canada. Now, they were aged and they entered old age. Now, they can't come to India and do something but their hatred towards Indian Government hasn't cooled down.
They talk about it again and again so that they can brainwash the next generation. The matter of Khalistan arises also due to now, this is also a geo-political topic. Foreign media also keeps arising this matter so that - a pressure is maintained on the Indian Government.
There's a normal Sikh, who takes loan and sends his children abroad to study they even tag them as terrorists. If they say against them, then they're attacked as well. Now, as you might've seen Harman Singh's case that when he opposed Khalistanis, then his whole family was in danger - even his car was targeted.
If a Sikh sits quietly and minding his own business and is not bad-mouthing Khalistanis isn't that he is Khalistani in fact, he gets taunts from both side - on one hand Khalistanis tag him as nastic and patits on the other hand, Indians tag him as traitor. Now, Khalistanis cannot do all this by coming to India themselves, that's why they have only one way creating tension in Sikh and other communities in India. And people who don't understand it and calling every Sikh as Khalistani in way are careting problems for the country.
There're lot of problems in Punjab but Khalistan isn't its problem. If you'll talk with elders who saw the time of 1984 they don't want anything similar to happen even by mistake. If the Punjabi Sikh is saying that Punjab has the problem of blackout or its MSP should increase or there's unemployment, then it simply means that its asking for a solution about its problems from the government.
This doesn't mean that he is Khalistani The local politics in Punjab also caused lot of difficulties. I'll tell you about that as well. Talking about current situation, then Punjab's economy which was the highest among states at some time it was the richest state - its economy has decreased to 19th position.
Due to Green revolution, the benefit that Punjab got earlier - now its disadvantage is also being uncovered. unemployment has increased, water level has decreased - actually after India's independence population was increasing rapidly & the food production was very slow. And U.
S. was giving bad quality wheat to India, after which India could fill its stomach. For that, green revolution was brought in India - which included Hybrid seeds fertilizers, pesticides, irrigation facility was introduced.
And since Punjab was already an agriculture rich state. And Punjab's soil & environment was suitable for it Panch Aab - means it already had 5 rivers. that is why this green revolution imposed in India was firstly implemented in Punjab.
The first motive if green revolution was to end India's hunger. So, this was the reason that when green revolution was implemented then, wheat and rice was focused on & the rest of the crops was ignored. In most of the cases of Punjab, wheat and ice was grown.
Punjab produced so much rice and wheat that it was started being called as - food bowl of India. India's central food grain comprised of 29% rice and 38% wheat alone from Punjab itself. Even today, Punjab produces 175 wheat and 9.
9% wheat of India. The rice & wheat which was rapidly produced due to green revolution - earlier Punjab got huge benefit from it In 1981, if we talk about Punjab's GDP per capita - Punjab was one of the richest states. But within 20-30 years, Punjab faced the disadvantage of this green revolution as well.
This was because wheat and rice was more focused upon - and rest of the crops were ignored. Crops which required less water were replaced with crops which require more water. Like wheat and rice - due to which soil got degraded, water level decreased.
The water level of the entire Punjab was decreased. So, the generator that earlier ran for an hour now it had to run for 3 hours to take out water due to which They even started facing electricity problems. Due to absence of diversification, due to soil degradation, agricultural growth was going down.
On top of that, Punjab's population was entirely agriculture based, so the incentives made by politicians were agricultture based - the IT industry was ignored. When in other states, It sector was increasing rapidly - the couple big companies that were there they started thinking of going out of Punjab. Due to which, unemployment started increasing.
The agricultural growth was earlier - 5% and in today's date it is 1. 6% now punjab has a debt of 2. 92 lakh crore and Punjab's youth isn't interested in agriculture now.
It needs goood life, good job that isn't provided in Punjab. That is why, only option is visible that anyhow - he should get out and settle and the ones who cannot go out due to any reason will raise their voice in different ways. If we talk about the current situation, then Punjab needs lot of economic growth.
Rest, this video is part 1. I know you were expecting the video on current situation on Nijjar so, I've already worked on it. Its almost complete.
