You’ve heard this before. In the early years of World War II, Nazi Germany swept across Europe. Then the Germans invaded the Soviet Union, but after the defeat at Stalingrad, the tide had turned and especially after the Normandy landings of allied troops, Hitler's armies were being defeated day by day and retreated until they surrendered in 1945.
Hello my dear friends, how are you? I'm Felipe Castanhari and whenever we talk about history that known “what if? ” hits.
What if the Roman Empire had never fallen? What if the Soviets had arrived on the moon before the Americans? These are just a few questions, but no doubt the biggest one would be "What if the Nazis had won World War II?
" This question makes people so curious that there are books, movies, series and games portraying this scenario. And each author has their own vision, since it's impossible to answer this question accurately. There are so many possibilities, right?
But we can suppose some things and exaggerate based on some facts that we know. Especially thinking of Hitler's plans for a victorious Nazi Germany. And before showing the world ruled by the Nazis, I'd like to ask you to leave your like and also subscribe to the channel.

[ WHAT IF HITLER HAD WON WORLD WAR II? ] So let's pretend the Nazis defeated the Soviet Union and also England. Let's also pretend that the United States never joined this war.
So Japan never attacked Pearl Harbor, which means the Americans never dropped two atomic bombs over Japan. So we don't have D-day and Hitler managed to conquer all of Europe. What would happen from then on?
Let's watch. In 1945, the main power in Europe would be Nazi Germany, but it would not be the only one. Mussolini's Italy would still exist, though only occupying the lands that Hitler would allow, such as North Africa.
Portugal and Spain, which had fascist governments, would probably be independent states, still totally submissive to Hitler. Okay, but what about in Eastern Europe? With the fall of the Soviet Union, Hitler would occupy the territory up to the Ural Mountains line, so he'd capture the Russian oil reserves and turn all of Eastern Europe into an agricultural area, with Slavic people being compelled to forced labor on German farms.
This was the "Living Space" [Lebensraum] that Hitler said Germany needed. Furthermore Germany would regain it's colonies lost in the first war and conquer the French and English colonies scattered across the world. With these swastikas all over the map, the conquest of the Middle East by the Nazis would be easy.
In the first war Germany wanted this area within its sphere of influence. In this reality, Hitler would conquer the oil by force. After dominating Europe, the colonies, and the areas of influence of their former rivals, the Nazis would extend their domains into the African and Asian continents, gaining even more forced labor.
Yes, in a Nazi-dominated world, having people compelled into forced labor would be really common. This Nazi ruling would result in Millions of deaths, especially of Jews who'd escaped the holocaust. Extermination camps would be built in all places dominated by Germany.
The so called Final Solution [Endlösung], the gas chambers, the Nazi concentration camps, would even change the map of the Middle East, as the State of Israel would've never been created. Freedom of the media and speech would simply cease to exist in these places. and every work of art should praise Nazism and the Aryan race.
Anyone seen as an enemy of the regime, such as communists, gypsies and homosexuals would be murdered. Public execution would be ordinary and cruel medical experiments would be applied everywhere by the Nazi government. Another important change would be the absence of the UN on the planet.
The United Nations was created after World War II to replace the League of Nations. Hitler would probably create a council among his allies, where he'd have all the great decision-making powers. But what about Japan in this whole story?
Well, without facing the United States in the war the Japanese would have dominated the Pacific, controlling most of Oceania and Asia. They'd get along well with Nazi Victory, because as the lands beyond the Ural Mountains do not have many resources, Hitler would likely allow Japan to keep the eastern part of the Soviet Union. That would give Japan the opportunity to do something Hitler would love: ending China.
The Chinese and Japanese have had issues with each other for a long time, and China would be an easy prey for the Japanese Empire, which would've not lost the war, and would still be supported by Germany. If China got conquered, Japan and Germany would even be geographically united. So the war would never have ended until we had only three major powers remaining: The German Reich, the Japanese Empire and the United States.
So where would the world end up beyond that? It'd probably head for a cold war between Americans and Nazis, very similar to what happened between the United States and the Soviet Union, with the two powers disputing spheres of influence. And do you know what would be one of the main stages of this conflict?
Exactly, Latin America and the Caribbean. Americans would want to keep tabs on those countries considered "their backyard". The Japanese would want to dominate all countries bordering the Pacific, while Germany would exploit the economic wealth of those countries, beyond militarily threatening the United States with its neighbors.
But since much of the Nazi economy revolved around weapons and militarization, this war would hardly remain cold for long and the Nazis would begin to invade countries they had not yet conquered. So if Americans hadn't joined in World War II, they'd still be thrown into a World War III, facing the Germans and their Japanese allies. And historians find it very difficult to bet on who'd have atomic weapons in a scenario like this.
Most likely it would be the United States, since many of the scientists involved in this research, were the Jews who fled to America. But would the Americans have developed an atomic bomb so quickly, without having joined in WWII? This is what we can't know surely.
If Americans were the first to create atomic bombs, we would probably have nuclear explosions not just in Japan but in Germany, as Americans would be fighting their two enemies. Now if these weapons were never invented by them and were actually in Nazis' hands, the United States would probably do very badly, since they would have to fight on different battlefronts against many enemies, until they were defeated by Germany and Japan. We would also be in a screwed up scenario, as Latin Americans would be considered as an "inferior" race by the Nazis, and we'd very likely be compelled to forced labor.
But the story doesn't end there: The Nazi goal revolved around Aryan racial superiority. And Japan was not part of those plans. After defeating the United States, there would be a dispute between Germany and Japan for world domination.
We would then have a World War IV between the only two remaining powers. The result: The Nazis with the most land and resources would probably be the winners, and so they'd dominate the entire world also because smaller fascist States like Italy Spain and Portugal certainly would've merged with the Reich at some point. The entire planet would then belong to Hitler.
In fact, the swastika would even be on the moon. The Americans have only set foot on the moon thanks to Nazi rocket technology, and in this scenario, it would be the Nazis that'd do it. Of course, we'd have scattered riots happening against the German ruling.
Something similar to today's terrorists. But as the Nazis had no qualms about bombing cities and exterminating thousands of civilians, these opposers would be hunted down until they were completely wiped out. If you'd walk around any big city in the world, you would see Hitler's face.
He'd be on posters, newspapers, cinemas and military parades. Perhaps this story would end because of the fact that Nazism was a regime, whose greatest symbol was Hitler himself. But the dictator would not live forever.
Would this global Nazism continue to exist after Hitler's death? Maybe riots against this oppressive government would start to happen just after his death or would a world dominated by the Nazis be a dead end, forever marking the fate of humanity? What do you think would happen in this nightmare-world?
Tell me what you think in the comments below! Well, this version of the world doesn't seem any good, right? As I said, this is just an idea.
There's no guarantee that things would actually happen that way. But it's always good to test so we can understand how an oppressive government would harm humanity completely.
