Today it is very common to see and hear false doctrines on social networks. That is why in this video we are going to talk about five of the most popular false doctrines today, and the biblical reality about each one. One of these doctrines is too dangerous, I think it is the most dangerous of all, because it goes against everything we believe about God, about the gospel, and about the Christian life.
So stay tuned so you can know how to identify it. Since we are talking about this topic, it is good to clarify that a false doctrine is one that contradicts what is clearly written in the Bible, which is the word of God. According to the dictionary, doctrine is a set of ideas or beliefs that are taught or believed to be true, and biblical doctrine is the teachings that align with the word of God.
This means that false doctrine is one that contradicts or removes the doctrine that has already been revealed to us through the Bible. We must not confuse what a false doctrine is with a misinterpretation of the scriptures, which can occur in different religious denominations, but when a doctrine is completely opposed to what the Bible says regarding salvation, regarding Jesus , his ministry, his life, his birth, his resurrection and his death, when the very word of God is questioned, or is against what the Bible says regarding the Holy Spirit, then it is a false doctrine. We can see this in the Bible in 2nd Peter 2:1 which says: but false prophets have arisen among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, denying even the Lord who bought them, bringing upon yes a sudden destruction.
Here it says that among us there are false teachers and false prophets, and that they covertly introduce heresies, that they probably do not do it openly but covertly, that is, they are among us. And he says that they could even deny the Lord, that is, they could deny Jesus himself. Now we are going to start with the false doctrines and number 1 is: works are necessary for salvation.
Nowadays it is very common to see how this false doctrine is spread, that in fact we can also see it on social networks, and this doctrine says that we have to do certain specific things in order to be saved, and that if we do not do this then we will not to be able to go to heaven. There are some who say that we must keep the law just like the Jews, that we have to celebrate the festivals of the Jews, keep certain days, eat or not eat certain things, that if we do not do this then we are not going to be saved. And the Bible is very clear about this, telling us that the only way we can be saved is through the sacrifice of Christ.
We are not going to be able to be saved by anything we can do, it is that by ourselves we cannot earn salvation, contrary to what this doctrine is saying, there are even people who accept the sacrifice of Jesus in their lives, they are believers, they are Christians, they profess the faith, however, even so, with their actions they show that the sacrifice of Jesus and what he did is not enough for them in their lives, and they need to constantly do things for them to feel that they are earning the Salvation. But you must remember that there is absolutely nothing that we can do to obtain this salvation, that it is really a gift from God, and that we literally do not deserve it and never will deserve it. The only thing we can do is be willing to accept this gift.
When God gives us this gift, then accept it. That's really the only thing we can do, but we can't earn it. Everything we can do as Christians, already in our Christian life, we do it because we are already saved, we do it because we have salvation, because we have the Holy Spirit within us that helps us not to sin, teaches us to live a godly life , the sacrifice of Jesus sanctifies us, purifies us, justifies us, makes us righteous before God and saints, then through his sacrifice, with the help of the Holy Spirit, it is how we can do these good works, these good things, give the fruit of the Holy Spirit, but this is because we are already saved, not to be saved.
These people I am talking about, preach that we must keep the law again, when in fact God says in his word that we are saved by grace and through faith, and this is not from us because it is a gift of God. God, not by works so that no one can boast. This means that this is a gift from God, and that it is not for any work that we can do so that the only one who receives the glory is God, because the work of salvation is God's.
And as I told you about the good works that we can do, we do them because we are already saved, obey God, keep ourselves without sin, stand firm in the word. And this, as I was saying, we cannot achieve with our own strength, but with the Holy Spirit, he is the one who gives us the power to do this. In fact, we made a video about seven things that the Holy Spirit does within us, and if you haven't seen it yet, I 'm going to leave it for you at the end of the video so you can go and see it.
The next false doctrine is the counterpart of this one and it is: if you already have grace and are saved you have the freedom to sin and do what you want. This is linked to the first, although it is contrary and is at the other extreme, both are at both extremes, and neither is correct. But before continuing, I invite you to get my devotional book and subscribe to our music channel.
I'm going to leave you the links in the description of the video, and in the comments. So there is a doctrine that says that if you don't do certain specific things you can't be saved, but it says that since you are already saved it doesn't matter what you do or don't do, because you will continue to be saved regardless of whether you live even in a life of sin, and this is not so. Unfortunately there are Christian people who have grace as a license to sin, "Christians", and say that the only thing we have to do to be right before God is to believe in the sacrifice of Jesus, believe what he did, believe in his resurrection, but they do not really live a life according to the will of God, according to the word, and in reality they do not follow Jesus, they are not Christians, they are not disciples of Jesus, because anyone can believe, even the demons believe and tremble.
Paul counters this false doctrine in Romans 6, saying: What then shall we say? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? In no way.
Because those of us who have died to sin, how will we still live in it. In other words, if we are already saved we cannot be in sin, this transformation comes when we believe in Christ, and that also changes our behavior, through the Holy Spirit. When we really know God, when we really love Christ, not just that we believe he existed, or that he sacrificed himself for us, but we really love him, then we're going to obey him.
It's like Luke 6:46 says, why do you call me sir, sir, and don't do what I say? If we have Christ as our Lord then we will do what he tells us. All this we can do because we are already saved, and that is if we have really taken up our cross and followed Jesus.
Number 3, Jesus is a mere mortal and therefore he is not God, nowadays it is very fashionable to say that Jesus is not God. They say that Jesus Christ was a mere mortal, that he was a simple prophet, that he was a simple angel of God, that he was one more messenger, some even deny that Jesus was resurrected, and any teaching that speaks differently from what the Bible teaches about the person of Jesus Christ is a false doctrine. And all this they begin to believe because of the most dangerous false doctrine, which I mentioned at the beginning, and which we will talk about later.
And this that Jesus Christ is not God is a heresy that is linked to another, called Arianism, which denied the divinity of Jesus and said that Jesus Christ was simply the son of God and was not God. And this doctrine was declared a heresy in the 3rd century, and today it is becoming popular again. It is as it is in 1 John 4, that the one who denies what the bible says about Christ is an antichrist.
And on the other hand there is the counterpart of this doctrine, which says that Jesus was never human, one says that Jesus is not God, another says that Jesus was never human, that he was only God. But in reality, Jesus when he was here on earth was 100% human and also 100% God, he had two natures, the human nature and the divine nature, and he was still God. I am going to leave you a list of verses that clearly speak about the divinity of Jesus.
But now we are going to explain a single passage that is in Hebrews 1. In this passage the Father is talking about Jesus and says: and again when he introduces the firstborn into the world, (that is, the Father) says: Let all the angels of God. Here we see how the Father introduces Jesus into the world and says worship him all the angels of God.
In other words, the Father is sending the angels to worship Jesus. What happens that Jesus himself here when Satan tempted him, told him: you will worship the Lord your God and you will only serve him, that is, the only one we can worship is God, then how is it possible that the angels worship Jesus, without Jesus be God? In fact, the Bible also says that John wanted to bow down before an angel, and the angel told him: do not worship me, I am your fellow servant, worship only God.
So if Jesus is worshiped and the only one who can be worshiped is God, it is because Jesus is God. But we continue reading in Hebrews 1, in verse 8, it says it even more clearly, the Father says: More of the son says: (this is the Father who is speaking) your throne, O God, forever and ever; scepter of equity is the scepter of your kingdom. We see that the Father says of the Son, your throne oh God, he calls Jesus God, the Father calls Jesus God, clearly.
Verse 10 says: and you, O Lord, in the beginning (he is talking about Jesus, the Father is talking about Jesus) and you, O Lord, in the beginning you founded the earth and the heavens are the work of your hands. He is saying that in the beginning Jesus founded the earth and that the heavens are the work of Jesus' hands, they will perish but you remain, and they will all grow old like a garment and like a garment you will wrap them and they will be changed, but you are the yourself and your years will not end. In all this he is talking about Jesus.
This same verse is in Psalms 102:26 talking about the Father, referring to the Father as the creator, and here in Hebrews 10 it is referring to Jesus as the creator using the same verse, implying that the Father and the son are one, and that both are God. But there is also another quite clear verse found in Philippians 2:6-8 which says: who, being in the form of God, did not consider equality with God a thing to cling to. Here he is telling us that Jesus did not consider being equal to God, that is, that he is equal to God, as something to cling to, but that he emptied himself taking the form of a servant, if he took the form of a servant it is because he did not he was a servant, if he was made in the likeness of men it is because he was not a man, and being in the condition of a man, because he was not a man and now he is in the condition of a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the death and death of cross.
Jesus is God, and the word that is God and is Jesus, became flesh. So God himself died for us to give us salvation. Here he left you more verses that talk about the divinity of Jesus so that you can read it quietly if you wish, you can pause the video and see these verses.
Number 4: The Holy Spirit is not God. There are doctrines that teach that the Holy Spirit is not a person, but that it is a power, that it is a force, an influence, a fluid, like electricity, like an energy that comes from God, but that it is not a person, and which therefore is not God. There are many biblical passages about the divinity of the Holy Spirit that I am also going to leave on the screen, but we are going to see one that is very clear and that kills two birds with one stone because it speaks of the personality of the Holy Spirit, and also of his divinity.
It's in Acts 5:3-4, the story of Ananias and Sapphira, and Peter said, Ananias, why did Satan fill your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit? you have not lied to men but to God. We see two key things, first it says that Ananias lied to the Holy Spirit, it is impossible to lie to a thing, it is impossible to lie to an electricity, it is impossible to lie to an influence, or to a fluid, or to a power that has no personality.
The only thing we can talk about lies to is a person, that's one, the other thing he says at the end is that you haven't lied to men but to God. First the Holy Spirit says you lied, then they say you did not lie to men but to God, being a reference that the Holy Spirit is God. And here more verses.
And now we are going to see the most dangerous doctrine of all, and it is number 5: The Bible is wrong, it has errors and you should not believe everything it says. This false doctrine is also moving too much on social networks today, well that's where I found out that there are people believing this. It is a movement that comes from Satan himself wanting to throw the word of God to the ground, and making people doubt the truth of the Bible.
There are some who say that you should not believe in some parts of the bible, or in some complete books of the bible, mainly the new testament. They trust the old testament more and throw the new testament to the ground. And we have to be very careful with this, because all our faith and all our beliefs in God depend on this, our belief in the gospel depends on this, all our faith depends on this.
There is a specific doctrine that we Christians believe in which is biblical inerrancy. This means that we believe and trust that the biblical text is the word of God, that it is without error and that it is completely inspired from cover to cover by God. That what we have today as the bible continues to be the word of God, that God has preserved it during all these years, during all this time since it was written, so that today we have the true word of God, but the message of the bible has always been and will always be the same, there will be no mistake because God is not wrong, and God does not make mistakes, he was also the one who inspired the scriptures and he will not let the bible be corrupted over the years, but it will allow them to be preserved so that today we as Christians can believe in the reality of the gospel, and not in a lie or in something that is corrupt.
The second Timothy 3:16 bible says that all scripture is inspired by God, there are people who say that in this passage Paul is referring to the old testament only, however in the same new testament we can see how the writings of the apostles are called scriptures too, and it is the same word that paul uses here that all scripture is inspired by God. This false doctrine movement wants us to believe the opposite of what the word says, and wants us to believe that the biblical text we have today is corrupt, and that the biblical text cannot be believed because it has errors, when in actually this is completely false. So let's run away from these people who want to come to us with these false doctrines, because these are heresies and false doctrines.
Here I leave you a video about seven things that the Holy Spirit does within you, and why another video about the image of the beast its mark and what we are experiencing today.
