of the next make us careful so to live that we may not be afraid to die let not sickness or death ever take us unawares or find us in a state unprovided grant that we may finish the work of salvation before the night cometh in which no man can work that so having laid the foundation of hope and comfort against the day of trouble or sickness we may whenever thou shalt be pleased to call us hence cheerfully resign our souls into thy hands amen our father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name thy kingdom

powers of darkness and from the illusions of satan amen almighty god give me grace to accept with serenity the things that cannot be changed courage to change the things which should be changed and the wisdom to distinguish the one from the other living one day at a time enjoying one moment at a time accepting hardship as a pathway to peace taking as jesus did this sinful world as it is not as i would have it trusting that you will make all things right if i surrender to your will so that i may be reasonably happy
