deep down you likely believe if you earn enough learn enough do enough change yourself enough set the right goals enough you can finally rid yourself of all of life's problems but you can't so here are six problems in life you'll never be able to solve no matter what you do number one uncertainty all of our problems as humans stem from our desire for certainty the ultimate philosophical lure is if I Implement enough routine order and predictability into my life I can forever escape this Goring anxiety that I have no idea what I'm doing nor do
I have any idea what tomorrow could bring but uncertainty isn't a problem to be solved it's a inescapable truth to be embraced you see the sooner you realize despite your cozy conclusions that nothing is certain nothing will ever be certain and nothing has ever been certain anyway you can breathe a sigh of relief because if nothing has been certain anyway this means everyone is making it up as they go along yes even your favorite Guru celebrity or YouTuber with 10 million subscribers and this is the great human act to convince yourself and others that despite
the fact you don't you do know what you're doing but no one knows what they're doing we're just a bunch of monkeys with a vague plan at best destined to perform on the stage of life without having rehearsed any of the script so consider this the next time you feel hesitant to LEAP into the abyss or Embrace change consider this the next time you're walking towards a venue feeling nervous because there's humans inside whom you haven't met yet or consider this the next time you feel yourself waiting to make a decision because you don't feel
ready yet then you might realize if everything is uncertain anyway inviting a bit more uncertainty into your life by making this decision doesn't really make a difference if all is uncertain anyway there's really no need to postpone anything until you feel ready if no one knows what they're doing that means other people were secretly crying out for some reassurance that despite their unrealistic inner standard of needing to have everything figured out all of the time they too feel lonely anxious and existentially absurd so here's a thought experiment to help you grapple with this inescapable uncertainty
of life treat your life as if up until now you have been an actor kept behind stage shrouded in the darkness only able to hear the Echoes of your fellow performers at in in front of the audience but then their scene ends and suddenly you get thrust on stage in front of the audience and into the spotlight but as the audience awaits your first word as you're stood there wondering what to say or what to act a new scene begins and suddenly it's completely up to you what the story line of your character will be
but here's the catch you're going to have to improvise but if everyone else is improvising and no matter what you do you'll never know what will come in in the next scene or even if there will be a next scene why not take a risk and see what happens you'll never be able to escape uncertainty so embrace it the whole future lies in uncertainty live immediately problem number two productivity in our hyper productiveduck you might convince yourself perhaps if I organize my Google Calendar better put more on my to-do list or find a new time
management technique I'll get the peace of mind that I crave and when I do that then I can finally relax and this angst I feel to justify my existance to other people and myself through means of productivity all of the time can finally subside but it won't because seeking emotional Escape through a productivity system is the problem within itself not the fact that you can't get everything you want to do done better yet the illusion of the to-do list is that if you complete everything then the game is finished and when the game is finished
very much like a body free falling from the sky only to be caught in a warm cozy blanket then you can finally relax into the freedom of release that you so crave so then the devilish question becomes perhaps if I'm productive enough I'll be able to complete the game of productivity forever the short answer no productivity doesn't end but your toxic relationship with it can instead of always getting lost in tasks and duties nose to the grindstone constantly caught up in the Mirage of necessity zoom out and keep your overarch in purpose forever close at
hand refresh yourself with your purpose in each moment of your life lest you fall into the Trap of ticking as many things off the list as you can in order to compete in the breath retention contest of life in which everyone is as purple as a beetroot STI as a doornail and makes overnight oats in the morning so they can save an extra 10 minutes so their life doesn't fall into an existential chaos uh back to it as the saying goes It's hard to remember your purpose was to drain the swamp when you're up to
your ass in alligators in other words it's hard to remember what your purpose is when you never zoom out from your to-do list to consider the bigger picture and instead of evaluating in your days based on productivity start to judge them based on presence as the spiritual writer David daa says a man should never get lost in the details of his life and forget that ultimately and in truth life amounts to nothing other than what is the deepest truth of this present moment tasks don't get a man anywhere more conscious or free than he is
capable of being in this present moment no eternity do whatever it takes and from this depth of being live the details of your life but if you postpone the process of submerging yourself in the source for the sake of taking care of business first your life will be spent in hours and days of business and then it will be gone only if you are well grounded in that which is larger than life will you be able to play Life with humor knowing that each task is a mirage of necessity the test of your fullness in
every moment is your capacity to die in free and loving surrender knowing you've done everything you could while alive to give your gift and know the truth of being so choose presence over productivity and allow yourself to laugh as you engage in your tasks with the awareness that they'll never end but that's okay because they are but a mirage of necessity number three insecurity the third pillar of human deception is the belief that by removing all of your insecurities you'll then be able to stand in assured confidence of yourself but insecurity is no more removable
than a lizard's tail yes you can chop it off but it will soon grow back now with a Vengeance for having been given the chop we can see this play out with the celebrities and influencers who seek Fame and validation to feel their inner void of of self-hatred because they hate themselves they seek external validation to justify their existence but when that external validation turn sour and the rug of comfort so to speak is ripped from underneath them their life descends into a chaotic pit of self-hatred again so just like a child will bury their
head in the cushions after seeing a ghost on the television so too the person who seeks external validation to fill up their inner void will always rush to find the next quick fix when that external validation goes silent and they're finally forced to face the figure of their wretched insecurity in the mirror but the only way to deal with insecurity isn't to respond to its sourness with a quick remedy but to treat it like a sweet recipe that will add some wind to your sales the only way to deal of insecurity isn't to just embrace
it but to become it to fully rig yourself of your insecurity you need to fully live it and incorporate it so it no longer becomes a problem but a mere expression of who you are after all we love a human who is unapologetically themselves with the same Artful Grace with which a tree is a tree problem number four exposure the fourth pillar of human deception is an introverts worst nightmare it's the belief that you can enter the social world without exposing yourself to other people and you can fully hide yourself just in case other people
discover your inner naughty nasty and All Too Human Nature but exposure of yourself to others is a gift only you can give and by exposing yourself to the world through contributing to a conversation rather than stay in silent approaching a group buying a stranger a drink or going up on stage to sing your favorite song into a microphone in front of a crowd of people despite your trembling anxiety you free yourself from the shackles of a constricted life and expand into the Rapture of being who you really are better yet as you begin to expose
yourself to other people you then ask what was I waiting for all this time it wasn't that bad and then the facade of your pretend self can finally fade as the author Ryan holiday says life happens in public get used to it number five pleasure the fifth pillar of human deception is the belief that momentary pleasure can keep your dissatisfactions at Bay for long enough the voice of pleasure reasons if I binge now I can relieve my tension if I drink today I can keep the procrastinations of yesterday going a little bit longer if I
scroll today away I can keep my existential dread at a distance but the oldest truism of The Human Condition teaches us something Monumental about pleasure nothing comes for free all the benefits that pleasure confers will have to be paid back I love you son but give me a minute for every ounce of pleasure we experience we invite an equal ounce of pain to the banquet but so too the opposite applies the more discomfort you willingly engage in now the more pleasure you'll experience later on so the unsolvable problem of pleasure becomes you will never feel
fully satisfied but you can carefully choose the type of pleasure you pursue in short immediate pleasure is fleeting slow pleasure is durable as the stoic philosopher musonius Rufus said all those years ago if you accomplish something good with hard work the labor passes quickly but the good endures if you do something shameful in pursuit of pleasure the pleasure passes quickly but the shame endures choose the type of pleasure you pursue wisely number six problems what we've covered so far in the previous Five Points have been some common Illusions we create for ourselves as humans essentially
what we've spoken about is problems so here highlights our sick and final pillar of human deception the idea of problems as mentioned at the the beginning of this video you likely believe as do we all that if you work hard enough learn enough earn enough change yourself enough you'll finally be able to rid your life of all of its problems but by definition life can never be free of problems because they're a feature of existence not a bug so true Solace comes when you give up this idea of trying to solve everything and in fact
go one step further and you give up this idea of problems at all and instead you don't solve you simply improve because if we understand that we're never going to be able to rid Our Lives completely of all of its problems you might as well work to improve the quality of the problems already present in your life but as we bring this video to a close you now might be thinking okay leis brilliant but if I can't solve these problems then what am I to do for the rest of my existence and in order to
answer that question I have to admit that I have led you on slightly because there is a solution to all of these problems but in order to find that solution you have to look at the problems from a slightly different angle and instead of seeking external solutions to quickly remedy these problems you arrive at a humorous understanding that despite your screw faced attempts to solve these problems the only solution is to understand that there is no solution and if you ask me that's the greatest solution of all happy New Year stay disciplined playful and dangerous
purple as a beetroot stiff as a doornail and makes overnight oats in the morning to save themselves an extra 10 minutes so their life doesn't fall into an existential cros cros chaos
