Stop Trying to Fix It—Trust God and Let Him Take Control | Morning Prayer

Before we pray, let's take a moment to reflect on God's Word, and then we'll join together in prayer. Trust is the foundation of every meaningful connection, every leap of faith, and every risk you take in the hope that things will turn out well. It is the silent force that keeps you moving forward when you have no guarantees—the unseen bridge that carries you over troubled waters.

It is the reason you dare to love, believe, and try again, even after disappointment. Trust shapes the way you interact with people. You might confide in one friend but hesitate with another simply because trust exists with one but is absent with the other.

You learn, sometimes the hard way, that trust is built slowly but can shatter in an instant. You guard your heart because experience has taught you that not everyone is worthy of the trust you long to give. You work hard every day, pushing through exhaustion, obstacles, and uncertainty, because deep down, you trust that your efforts will be rewarded.

You trust that your labor will bear fruit, that persistence will pay off, and that someone will see your value. But even then, there are moments when doubt creeps in. What if the effort is wasted?

What if things don't go as planned? What if you've placed your trust in the wrong thing? You lock your doors at night.

You hide your valuables. You double-check if the car is locked, if the passwords are strong enough, if the security measures are in place, because trust, when misplaced, can lead to loss, and not everyone in this world is trustworthy. And yet, trust is also what allows you to live without paralyzing fear.

You sit down at a restaurant, order food, and eat it without ever stepping into the kitchen. You don't question the chef's training or the cleanliness of the utensils. You trust that someone, somewhere, has ensured that what you're consuming is safe.

Every time you board a plane, you trust a pilot you've never met to take you thousands of feet into the air and bring you safely back to the ground. Every time you step onto an elevator, you trust that the cables will hold. Every time you drive, you trust that the cars around you will follow the rules of the road.

You don't even realize how much you rely on trust every single day. But here's the question: If you can trust in small, imperfect things—if you can trust a stranger to prepare your food, a metal box to carry you up a skyscraper, a machine to fly you across the world—how much more should you trust the Lord, who is always faithful and never fails? The Bible gives us a beautiful picture of what it means to trust in God.

In Jeremiah 17:7-8, it says, “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water that sends out its roots by the stream and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit. ” This verse is a powerful image.

A tree by the water does not panic when the heat rises; it doesn't shrink in fear when the rain stops for a season. Why? Because its roots run deep.

It is connected to its source, and that's what trust in God looks like. It's a life planted deeply in His faithfulness, not swayed by every storm, not withering under the pressure of uncertainty, but standing strong because its source never runs dry. But let's be honest: Letting go and trusting isn't easy.

The world teaches you to hold on tightly, to take control, to micromanage your future, to calculate risks, and to secure every outcome. Society glorifies independence, self-sufficiency, and the idea that success comes when you are in control. But God calls you to do the opposite; He calls you to surrender, to let go of what you cannot change, to release the illusion of control, and to trust that He is working all things for your good, even when you don't understand.

You can't control how people treat you, but you can choose to trust God with your relationships. You can't control every outcome, but you can choose to trust that God's plan is better than yours. You can't prevent hardships, but you can trust that He will carry you through them.

So trust Him. Trust Him with that difficult situation at work. Trust Him with your family, your children, your finances, your health.

Trust Him with your dreams, your disappointments, your fears, because when you place your trust in Jesus, you are not just making a hopeful wish. You are planting yourself by the waters of His faithfulness. You are surrendering your life into the hands of the One who sees the end from the beginning, who never breaks a promise, who holds the universe in place, and still cares intimately for your every need.

And when you do, the Bible promises you will be blessed. Now, let's take this time to pray together. Lord Jesus, I honor Your name.

Lord, You are majestic and glorious. Today, I put my full trust in You, Almighty God. I will not lean on the wisdom of this world.

I will not rely on human understanding, fleeting knowledge, or the opinions of experts. The world may offer solutions, but none compare to the wisdom that comes from You. King Jesus, You are forever faithful.

You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. Your Word does not return void; Your promises are true. When You spoke, “Lazarus, come forth,” death lost its hold and life was restored.

I believe You can speak life into my situation today. When You declared, “Peace, be still,” the raging storm bowed to Your command. I trust that You can still calm the… Storms in my life—the storms of uncertainty, fear, and doubt—you are still the God who heals.

You are still the God who provides. You are still the God who rescues. Time has not changed you, nor has any circumstance weakened your power.

You are sovereign, reigning over all creation, and nothing is too hard for you. And so I place my trust in you, not just with my words but with my entire being. Your word says in Psalm 37:4-6: "Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.

Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light and your justice as the noon day. " Lord Jesus, I commit my life to you—my plans, my dreams, my desires.

I lay them at your feet, knowing that what you have prepared for me is far greater than anything I could ever imagine. Let my heart seek you above all things—not just for what you can do, but for who you are. Teach me to delight in you, to find my joy in your presence, to love you with a trust so deep that no trial can shake it.

I do not want to hold on to control; I want to live fully surrendered to your perfect will. The world teaches me to take charge, to make things happen, to rely on my own strength, but you call me to something higher. You invite me to trust, to rest, to believe that you are working all things together for my good, even when I cannot see the way forward.

Your word in 2 Chronicles 16:9 tells me, "The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose hearts are loyal to Him. " Father, as you search the earth for hearts that are faithful, may you find mine steadfast in you. Let my faith be unwavering; let my heart be firm— not tossed by the waves of circumstances but anchored in the truth of who you are.

Let me not be too busy for you. Let me not be too tired to pray, to worship, to seek your presence. Let me never be too distracted to listen to your voice.

Let my heart desire you above all else. Holy Spirit, cleanse me; remove anything that keeps me from fully trusting God. Sweep away every doubt, every fear, every worry that lingers in the corners of my mind.

Strengthen my faith where it is weak; replace my anxieties with unwavering confidence in your goodness. Let there be no space in my heart for fear—only faith; no room for worry—only worship; no doubt—only trust. Father, your word says in Psalm 28:7, "The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped.

Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song, I will praise Him. " You are my strength when I am weary; you are my shield when I feel vulnerable; you are my help when I am lost. My heart is safe with you, my future secure in your hands.

I will not fear what tomorrow holds because I know the One who holds tomorrow. Thank you, Lord, for your unfailing love, for your never-ending grace, for your faithfulness that stretches beyond the heavens. When everything else fades, you remain; when the world changes, you stay the same.

I trust you with all that I am. I trust you in the waiting; I trust you in the unknown; I trust you in the storm, in the valley, in the moments of silence when I cannot hear your voice. Because I know that even in those moments, you are near.
