lot to share with you so without further Ado here's what you will learn okay so first I'm going to explain how to get clear confident English with great pronunciation and a beautiful accent you're also going to learn four common mistakes to avoid and what you've likely been doing wrong these are really important and I have a feeling you haven't heard some of these before uh next the missing puzzle piece you probably haven't thought about that is also so so so so so important important next we're going to talk about how to change the way you
speak and sound a comprehensive step-by-step framework and when I say step-by-step I really truly mean step by step it is massive I'm still wishing myself luck because we have a lot to get through okay next um oh you're going to learn everything you need to know about my accent Freedom program to see if it's right for you because it is currently open for enrollment but only for a limited time and if you stay till the end of this class class that you're watching right now you will get a sneak peek of the accent Freedom program
at the end okay so just a quick note this class that I'm doing right now is available for a limited time only just a few days okay so make the time to watch it if you can't watch everything in one go that's okay watch 20 minutes come back watch 20 more minutes you might actually have to do that anyways because if the information gets too dense or if I start speaking too quickly you might get overwhelmed and you might need a little break that's okay all right so first let's make sure you are in the
right place how do you feel when you speak English I'm really truly asking you this question so I want you to think about this okay so listen listen to the options here my pronunciation needs work people don't understand me I don't like the way I sound in English I don't feel comfortable speaking English speaking gives me anxiety I want to improve my rhythm and intonation I want to speak more fluently with connected speech I want to reduce my accent I want to sound like a native speaker I want to learn an American accent my accent
is holding me back okay so not all of these have to be true for you but my question is how do you feel when you speak English are you able to relate to any one of these or maybe many of them so okay so if you sorry I didn't I highlighted was going to highlight the wrong spot anyways if you can relate to any of this you are in the right place basically if you can't relate to any of this whatsoever I'm not quite sure why you're watching this master class I don't think you need
it okay maybe you just like my classes okay so um next what do these terms have in common okay this is a guessing game a guessing game what do these terms have in common foreign accent reduction pronunciation Training American accent training accent neutralization diction training English intonation training English Rhythm training accent refinement vocal Clarity training fluency training voice and speech coaching Pro training connected speech practice foreign accent softening speak sound like a native okay so pause the video if you have to pause the video I really want you to think about this what do these
terms have in common okay now I will give you the answer hang on a second I had to pause the video CU I was suddenly out of breath bre I think I'm talking too fast sorry anyways here is the answer I'm going to reveal it okay what do these terms have in common basically they all relate to changing the way you speak and sound so you can communicate more clearly feel more confident sound how you want to sound right because at the end of the day everybody wants the same thing everybody wants to improve the
way they sound when you want to improve the way you sound right the way people go about it the terminology they feel comfortable with is a different story now the reason why I'm doing this is because what I want to do here is I want to bring everyone together because some people say well I don't want to sound like a native speaker and other people say no I really want to sound like a native speaker I want to completely get rid of my accent and other people say no I'm proud of my accent why would
I want to erase my accent I don't want to erase my identity and so there's kind of like this conversation I've been noticing over the years going on where it's like I want this and I don't want this or no you shouldn't want that you should want this and I feel like we we just need to back up from that a little bit because at the end of the day it doesn't matter what you call it it really really does not matter what you call it at the end of the day we are all talking
about the same thing whether you want to reduce eliminate neutralize soften get rid of your accent or whether you want to embrace your accent and improve your pronunciation and simply learn Rhythm and intonation whether you want to sound like an American or you want to sound like yourself it really doesn't matter at the end of the day we are all talking about the same thing we are talking about the fact that you want to change the way you speak and sound we're not talking about changing who you are or anything like that we're simply talking
about your voice and the fact that it's an instrument and you can change the way that it sounds right and when you change it there are things you look forward to right like feeling like you fit in a little bit more or feeling like your accent is less distracting feeling like people can understand you more feeling like you're communicating more confidently okay so at the end of the day I'm bringing every one of us together doesn't matter how you feel about these terms okay you might feel very negatively about one and very positively about the
other doesn't matter we are going to move past that okay we're going to move past that conversation and we're going to move to the point where you're here because there's something that bothers you about the way you speak English about the way that you sound and you're here to make changes you're here to do work and you're here to make changes okay so hopefully we're all on the same page now and this by the way down here this is a little side note okay everyone has an accent absolutely everybody I have an accent you have
an accent everybody has an accent but you don't hear your own accent and I put I'm putting this here because the other day I actually got a message from somebody who said I don't have an accent not me Stephanie but the person was saying yeah some people when they speak Spanish have an accent but I don't have an accent because I'm from this part of the world and I didn't reply but I thought in my head he doesn't know everybody has an accent basically when someone has an accent they speak differently from you so it's
all about perception okay I might perceive that I don't have an accent because to me my English sounds quote normal but maybe you have an accent to me because your English sounds different from mine okay that's all an accent is it's when somebody can tell that you were not born and raised in the same place because people that are born and raised in the same place tend to have the same accent and that's why they can't hear it it's like if a bunch of fish are living in water they don't know they're living in water
because they're all living in water together and the water is wet and they don't know it's wet because they're surrounded by it hopefully that makes sense okay as another side note I didn't write this down but I just thought of it and it's something I've been wanting to talk about but people perceive access differently depending on how familiar they are with the accent for example I can watch my favorite actor in a movie and go wow he's an american guy but he did an amazing British accent and then maybe a British guy could look at
me and be like no way he didn't sound like he was a Brit at all like I could totally hear his accent okay likewise you might learn English so well that everyone that surrounds you in your country when they hear you speak English go wow you sound like an American you have a great accent and then I might hear you and go you don't sound like an American okay so this is why I mean we might have to talk more about this later but this is why we have to be really really really careful with
what we're trying to achieve here because if your goal is to pass as an American or something like that you will pass to different people you might not pass to actual Americans if you do then it's like that is probably the highest level I guess you could say of uh sorry I paused it and played it because I had to think about how I was going to say this it's the highest level of accent achievement right when you're trying to go for a certain specific accent and then you're able to do it however that is
not usually what I recommend students do because even if you could achieve that at the end of the day what I think is most important and what I have learned from my own Journey my friends okay is you don't just want to end up being a copy of somebody else you really want to find your own voice in a language because okay lesson from Stephanie I spent years trying to speak and sound like a native speaker and pass um as a native speaker from Argentina I was uh learning Spanish I worked on it and I
really wanted people to think I was a native Spanish speaker from Argentina there's good and bad here the good is because I was so focused on sounding and speaking like a native I really mastered the accent my pronunciation got really good I nailed the intonation the Rhythm all of that but for years and here's the bad for years I had so much anxiety around speaking because I was constantly worried about making mistakes and what if people realize I'm actually a foreigner right and so it's like I was constantly pretending I was constantly trying to be
somebody that I wasn't and that really caused me to like hold back in the Shadows like I was just a Wallflower I was scared of speaking up I wouldn't share my stories join conversations you know even though that's who I am in English I love doing that kind of stuff but in Spanish I couldn't because I was so concerned about people discovering I was a foreigner and it's like wait a minute I was a foreigner why was I I I wasn't born and raised in Argentina why was I trying to fool people so if if
that's your goal I'll just say this right here and right now if that is your goal and you don't struggle with confidence go for it you have my blessing I think it's totally fine but if your goal is to pass as a native like you're like oh I just want native speakers to think I'm a native speaker okay if that's your goal and you struggle with speaking anxiety you need a new goal because you will constantly struggle with speaking anxiety because what happens when we try to pass is you don't hold the cards anymore the
power is not in your hands because somebody else either has to approve of your performance okay and say great job or they're going to say no no no no you don't pass right and then it's going to feel like they're judging you right whether that happens or not might be in your head but it's how it feels okay so that is a side tangent hopefully you got something from that I want to move on because like I said I have a lot to get through in this class but hopefully it gives you something to think
about I personally don't think that there are good goals and bad goals and like oh you should go for this and you shouldn't go for that I think there are consequences quences is that the word yes a consequence okay consequences can be good or they can be bad it's just an outcome something that happens because of something that we do so basically if your goal is helping you move forward in a positive way perfect but if there's something about it that is holding you back you might have to re-evaluate what your goal is in the
first place okay moving on officially next what do these terms have in common here we go speech coaching speaking confidence presentation skills vocal training powerful speaking techniques overcoming speaking anxiety vocal training for public speaking and by the way public speaking here I want to clarify that this is not just speaking in front of a group of people public speaking can be any kind of public speaking you could be talking with a group of friends at a bar you can be talking one-on-one with somebody it's just talking with other people not just for giving presentations okay
so pause the video if you want what do these terms have in common okay now let's go over the answer so all of these terms relate to improving your ability to speak confidently and effectively so you are prepared for any type of communication whether it's a presentation interview or simply a conversation okay so that's what these terms have in common now to reach your full potential as an English speaker you need to work on everything not just your pronunciation Rhythm Clarity intonation but also your ability to deliver a message powerfully and effectively so people listen
this is the Miss the missing puzzle piece remember earlier when I said I'm going to tell you about a missing puzzle piece that's very important people don't often focus on it but you should again I'm going to read this one more time you need to work on everything so if you came to this class because you're like oh I need to work on my pronunciation or my accent is getting in the way of my clarity whatever it is okay so you came here thinking that's all you need to work on but I am suggesting I
am suggesting that you need to work on everything not just your pronunciation Rhythm Clarity intonation but also on your ability to deliver a message powerfully and effectively so people listen again this is not just about giving a presentation okay this is about talking just talking any type of talking any kind of conversation any type of interaction with another person you could be talking to a doctor you could be talking to a teacher you can be talking to children like any kind of interaction where you talk with another human right there are ways to do it
effectively that have nothing to do with pronunciation absolutely nothing to do it could have to do with facial expressions it could have to do with body language tone of voice attitude all kinds of things but I'm just kind of trying to plant a seed here in case you haven't been thinking about that in case you thought like oh my goodness the reason why my English is lacking is because of my pronunciation and it might be like no you actually need to work on your presence right the presence that you bring to a conversation because maybe
you're making yourself really small and you you actually need to make yourself bigger like physically take up more space right better posture hold yourself a certain way so that people can see that you are there and then you need your voice to match that you need your voice to match that so when you show up in a room you're showing up with presence people see that you're there then when you speak people hear that you're there okay and then when you speak you know you want it to come out in a way where it has
impact and people understand right and obviously they need to understand first before it can have impact okay moving on so four common mistakes that stop you from changing the way you sound now remember I said these are very important okay so the first mistake I would say is kind of like hopefully the most obvious mistake number one thinking you are supposed to pronounce every word perfectly and I put it in quotes cuz it's not going to be perfect once you realize so words are often not pronounced the way they are written in English okay now
I'm not saying this is true for every other language but in English our written system and our spoken system you have to think of them as two completely different systems and you might notice when a native speaker or someone with lots and lots and lots of exposure to English reads out loud they're not actually reading exactly the way the words are written we often make contractions even when there are no contractions on the page we might make the contractions as we read out loud because it simply sounds natural to us and that's what we're used
to saying and what's written might be unnatural for example if you read a sentence and the sentence says it is a beautiful day okay a native speaker might read that and say it's a beautiful day okay so they're Contracting they're seeing something and they're Contracting it even though there's no contraction written on the page something to be aware of and something I want you to think about when you're hearing native speakers read and I want you to ask yourself are they reading word for word or is something happening here that I'm not aware of okay
let me give you some more examples so words are often not pronounced the way they are written look at this word here a lot of people might say wedness day okay a lot of people we should specify English Learners okay because no native speaker is going to say wedness day we would say Wednesday Wednesday okay some people might say Wednesday um but B basically Wednesday now over here for real I don't ever say for real I say for real fur okay look at how I'm reducing that it's like this fur yeah for real for real
that really happened for real okay and those kind of reductions that's called a reduction those kind of reductions happen all over the place in English uh look at this example a lot of dogs I would simply say a lot of dogs a lot lot of a lot of a lot of dogs okay you could say a lot of dogs but it's not necessary a lot of dogs um here he shouldn't have done that he shouldn't have done that I would just say he shouldn't have done that he should have he should look what's happening to
this word have you see it and you might think it needs to be pronounced have because that's perfect pronunciation right but that's not what we say when we speak English we don't say he shouldn't have done that like it just sounds like it takes so much effort to say it like that we just connect it we say he shouldn't have and then I have this example here if you were listening closely when I um read this part I didn't say supposed to okay I said thinking you are supposed to suppose suppose okay I dropped this
ending in a more technical term you can think of it as linking the D to the T because those sounds are pronounced in the in the exact same place in the mouth so whenever we have sounds okay back to back that are pronounced in the same place in the mouth sometimes we hold them and we join them together again pay attention to this because you'll start noticing it supposed to okay thinking you are supposed to pronounce every word perfectly good mistake number two expecting yourself to be good without proper training and practice speaking is a
skill and I hope that you realize this I hope that you know this it's a skill like any other skill think about some skills that you can learn if you really wanted to that you could get good at that people do learn and get good at I mean so many come to mind cooking is always the the most obvious one that comes to mind because I feel like people either are wonderful cooks or they say oh I can't cook I can't cook and they say it like it was bestowed upon them when they were born
that they would be terrible cooks and it doesn't work like that cooking is a skill it comes from exposure it comes from practice it comes from a mom who takes the time to teach you or going to culinary school but it is a skill you are not blessed with culinary ability or not it doesn't work like that and everything is the exact same way okay whether you want to be a hair stylist or a photographer or uh a mathematician none of these things are things that you're just blessed with okay people learn these skills and
anybody that has gotten very good at these skills I think would be completely insulted if you just acted like they were gifted okay like I have put in a lot of hard work to get where I am today in every place that I'm at today there is absolutely nothing in my life that I could look at and just be like oh that came so easily I was just gifted okay everything takes work okay so uh skill is the result of Interest first you have to be interested if you're not interested you're not even going to
try you're not going to get good just it stops there so skill is the result of uh interest work you got to put in the hours and dedication you cannot give up right so please whatever you do do not believe some people are just gifted when you see those your peers let's just say your peers when you see your peers and they're speaking English so fluently and they sound so nice you might get that little jealousy in your heart like oh man why do why is it's so easy for them okay I want you to
resist that feeling of thinking it's so easy for them maybe they have spent countless hours practicing maybe they forced themselves into countless uncomfortable situations so they can build those skills okay people don't just end up there because okay there's a path right and they took a path it's not the same as your path it's a path nonetheless next your voice is an instrument and if there's anything you walk away with today it needs to be this okay I always say this your voice is an instrument think about a violin a guitar a guitar on its
own if you just start uh strumming those strings and you have no experience it's going to be pretty boring pretty dull pretty me okay um but then if you put that same instrument in the hands of somebody who has practiced who loves playing the guitar okay who just loves the music the song getting people together and playing so people can sing uh sitting around a campfire okay that's what um I used to do with my family my dad used to play the guitar and um we would sit around you know campfire or wherever we were
and he would play the guitar and we would sing and it was awesome I couldn't do that but I had never trained to do that and guess what my brother can do that because my brother saw my dad doing that and he wanted to do it too so my brother was what interested okay and then he worked at it he was dedicated and now my dad sadly is no longer alive and here with us but my brother carries on the tradition and we get together with him we can sit around a campfire or get together
with the family and we are all so happy when he brings his guitar because he has practiced and we have so much fun singing okay your voice is an instrument and I want I want to share the proof of this with you if you're like no what are you talking about Stephanie voice is not like a violin or guitar it's actually better okay it can actually do more things crazy things I want you to think about singers opera singers okay Opera think about that what they can do with their voice think about actors think about
how actors are able to train different um accents think about ventriloquists and what they are able to do okay you know those guys that go on stage and they have a puppet and they make the puppet like talk but they are actually the ones doing the talking but you can't tell because their lips are not moving it's crazy your voice is an instrument your tongue everything here these are muscles you can learn to manipulate these muscles okay and your teeth those are just boundaries those are just boundaries okay and you have to learn how to
play with what you have here okay and make different sounds and practice those sounds you have to have fun with it if you want to change anything about it and if you want to improve it and most people what happens because I have seen this over and over again and for me personally as a Language Coach it's one of the most frustrating things somebody tries to make a sound and they go can't do it it's too hard can't do it and it's like you tried like what twice I'm sorry twice and you were expecting to
make progress twice you tried twice this is what I'm talking about sometimes it takes a hundred tries before you can even make the correct sound or a sound that's somewhat close to the correct sound after you get that try you have to try again you have to be able to produce it like 10 times and be like okay I can I can correctly make this sound now friends then you have to go from there to drilling the sound over and over and over again and it takes it takes a while sometimes to find the perfect
placement in your mouth okay because your brain is filtering everything you're really trying hard you might be making the same mistake over and over again without realizing what it is I know for me it was so hard when I was learning Spanish okay maybe some of you have have heard this story before when I was learning Spanish the hardest sound for me was that s sound okay because it wasn't an s sound in Spanish like when you read the word in Spanish it would have an S but everybody in Argentina they weren't saying it with
an like s they weren't saying that and I was like but it's an S so I was putting my tongue in the S position and I had to listen and listen and listen and watch and watch and finally I realized it's just not an S sound they're doing something different so when my brain accepted that fact I was able to figure it out and I realized it was more like a h sound right right and then I had to practice and practice and practice so it could become natural to me but in the beginning I
remember being frustrated for a few weeks and I would anytime I would go anywhere go for a walk or wash dishes anytime I had aone time I would be like I would just practice with my tongue my question is do you do that okay are you there drilling the words that are difficult for you are you there drilling the sounds that are difficult for you because if you're not you're not going to make progress and I bet you already know a sound that you're struggling with that you're not practicing okay and that's kind of like
fundamental that's the bottom line Basics okay for example if you know that you struggle with the r and the L confusing those you have got to drill those sounds you've got to practice go slowly drill them until they are no longer a problem for you you have to gain control of your voice because nobody can do it for you and it at some point you don't need more classes about the r and the L it's not like there's some magical solution that somebody has out there that if they would just say it a certain way
it would finally make sense I mean maybe sometimes okay maybe sometimes but for the most part usually what it is is a lack of trying because I guarantee if you made that your top priority to figure that out and you worked on it every single day you would solve that problem it might take 25 days but you would solve that problem and then you'd be able to move on okay okay so your voice is an instrument our voices are capable of amazing things and sometimes it's the smallest little change that will make the biggest difference
so don't give up now you can change the way you sound yes you can yes you can how far you go is up to you so for those of you that are like I just want clear pronunciation that's all I care about great you can achieve that and for those of you that are like I adore the American accent I want to sound like an American you can achieve that okay you're gonna have to work harder you might have to work longer it's going to take a while okay but you can do it because you
know your voice is an instrument and you need to learn how to play your instrument so that everything comes together and sounds the way that you want So at the end of the day nobody has a bad goal here if you want to sound like an American or if you want to speak clearly fine-tune your pronunciation reduce your accent really doesn't matter what you call it okay we already established that you just want to change the way that you sound and now you know you can do that that and it's just a matter of obviously
the practice and the time that it takes to reach that if your goal is a bigger goal it's going to take longer okay next mistake number three performing English rather than using it as a means of self-expression this is so important and it took me years you guys please it took me years to learn this so I I really hope I can save some of you guys some heartache and suffering by teaching you this right now when you speak you are expressing yourself it is meant to be fun exciting exhilarating interesting freeing okay it is
not meant to be a performance okay where you are on stage and every and there's an audience just waiting to judge you because when you think people are judging you often times it's in your own head you're just assuming that about other people and nobody really even cares how you sound or how you're speaking people are not there with a basket of tomatoes waiting for you to mess up so they could throw tomatoes at your at you for your poor performance that is not how it works English is not a performance speaking English is not
a performance I repeat do not feel do not allow yourself to feel like you are performing okay there are moments where it will be more of a performance right when you have to give a speech um or do something like that then yes people are expectant okay but there are also ways to make giving a speech not feel like a performance you're there ultimately to help people be authentic help people boom okay don't worry about performing okay one second so my question to you is have you realized this have you realized this and have you
accepted it how when when is the last time you thought of speaking English as a means of self-expression okay it's like when you get dressed in the morning and you put on your clothes that's also a means of self-expression now some people really care about their style and they go all out and other people don't really care it doesn't matter it's still self expression you might be expressing that you like to be comfortable and that you really don't care about style okay that's still expressing something so when you speak when you communicate you're expressing who
you are okay and I want you to think about that think about what that means to you okay so next uh I mean this is part of the mistake but if you fear what others think of your English it's because you are secretly seeking their approval okay I'll I'll say it again if you fear if you're afraid of what others think of your English it's because you are secretly seeking and probably Desiring their approval now the reason why this is bad is because it simply puts you in a vulnerable position you don't have the power
okay you don't have the power if you're seeking someone else's approval they have the power you have given them the power if you want the power you cannot be seeking other people's approval you have to give yourself the approval then you will have the power and then you won't be afraid because you won't care what other people think about your English you already like the way that you speak oh or you accept that how you're speaking isn't how you want to speak forever but it's like something you're working on you know but you got to
take that power back if you've given it to other people I went through this and it was like hell okay because every single day I was living in Argentina every interaction every conversation it's like I was you know it just doesn't feel good it just doesn't and if you know you know we'll just say that okay next uh speaking is not a performance unless you make it one so if you feel like it's a performance people are there judging you okay it's because you are doing this it's not reality so you might have to change
how you're thinking about the situation so that you can like relax and enjoy life your conversations and English Okay mistake number four constantly copying and imitating rather than finding your voice now listen I know when you're learning a language right you have to copy you have to imitate especially if you're trying to sound and speak like a native I get it because I did the same thing and that's how I got to the level that I got to right but okay but I don't want you to forget this very important point at the end of
the day it's not about how well you can sound like them it's about how comfortable you are sounding like yourself first of all you have to find what that means to you what does it mean to sound like yourself okay and then you have to really settle into that and get comfortable there and enjoy it that is who you are and you know everything that you've worked towards it's it's a transformation it can take time you might be in the middle of your journey that's fine but find your voice okay don't be obsessed with sounding
like somebody else trying to be like somebody else may for example maybe you really look up to me maybe you are like Stephanie I love your English I want to sound like you that's fine and you can imitate me and um you in fact that's what we do in the accent Freedom program the first six weeks are all about imitation so that you can learn to change how you sound and get control of your voice but then the second half of the course it's all about finding your voice because at the end of the day
when you go out into the world you're going out as yourself and you need to be comfortable with you so that's all I'll say about that you might have to spend more time thinking about that one though okay so what oops I moved my video wrong thing okay what does it take to change the way you sound this is my theoretical answer and later I will give you a practical answer okay so theoretical what does it take to change the way you sound first of all it takes awareness you can't change what you don't realize
and again your brain filters out so many things in English you might think you're hearing something a certain way but you're actually hearing it a different way okay so you need awareness I'll give you an example of this the T in English the letter T okay when students see it they're expecting to hear the sound T but that doesn't always happen happen and so then their brain goes I don't understand what's happening here but the minute you learn about all the different sounds that the letter T can make and in which environments it makes each
one then it's like oh my goodness now I get it ah why didn't I realize that before sometimes you realize these things on your own and sometimes it's helpful for somebody to just tell you look the letter T in English can literally make 10 different sounds that is why you have not really figured it out until now let me explain what these sounds are in which environments you'll find them so that you can start becoming aware of this and hearing things more accurately and if you can hear it then you can imitate it if you
can't even hear it you definitely won't be able to imitate it okay so uh quick story of one of my students in our first round of the accent Freedom program one of my students oh my goodness she confessed this and I was like wow I cannot believe it like how frustrating for okay so listen so she basically went to an ear doctor to get her ears checked because she thought there was something wrong with the way she was hearing English because she would read the words on a paper and then she would hear English and
she's like it's so different my ears must not be hearing correctly because sounds are getting dropped contractions are happening like all reductions are happening and she thought the problem was with her ears she didn't realize that it wasn't a problem with her ears at all she was hearing English perfectly fine she had the wrong expectation of the language she expected spoken English and written English to like mirror each other and by golly they do not so hopefully you well if you've gone through that something similar I'm really really sorry look English is is troublesome in
that way okay but there's hope and the hope is that there are patterns in the language these patterns repeat themselves and first you have to you know build the awareness and then start hearing the patterns and then you'll be able to imitate them and everything will get a lot easier I promise anyhow first you need awareness awareness okay next you need time just because you heard it doesn't mean you learned it so this goes for many different things once you hear a sound and you're like haha I can finally hear this sound correctly just because
you can hear it correctly now doesn't mean you learned it doesn't mean you learned how to say it and then say it correctly in spontaneous speech sometimes you have to drill a sound and you get it right when you're practicing and then in spontaneous speech you still can't say it correctly okay and it takes time for that sound to really be learned by your brain and your body okay also just because you heard it doesn't mean you learned it in my course in the accent Freedom course I think there's over 30 hours well over 30
hours of training in this program it's a lot okay it's pretty intense um and I say a lot of different things and I don't like repeating myself I get bored if I have to give the same training more than once or say the same thing more than once there are some things that are very important that I will repeat for example English is not um spoken the way that it is written I repeat that one frequently because it's like fundamental um but everything else when I go through like oh did you realize this or did
you know this or have you seen this or let me give you this example or whatever it's like boom boom boom boom boom okay you heard it you saw it it doesn't mean you learned it and this is actually why my students tend to revisit material okay they go through it again and again and again because they're like oh my gosh like I need to revisit that I need to learn that again I need to see what she said about that and sometimes you have to and by the way I do this also when I'm
learning a new skill when I'm watching a video when I'm trying to understand something sometimes it takes um a lot of exposure you have to see something more than once sometimes five to 10 times maybe 20 there might even be a scientific study about how many times you actually need to see a piece of information uh before you really learn it okay so learning is not just hearing something and and like okay now I get it and learning is also not oh I watched the video so I should know now please don't ever have those
expectations on yourself as a learner because if you expect yourself to learn because you watched a video you're setting yourself up for a lot of disappointment that is not how the learning happens your body and your brain need time to process information and it they need repeated exposure okay next mindset okay so we were talking about what does it take to change the way you sound okay this one is so so critical listen mindset decide you will learn and succeed and then do it sometimes it is as simple as that we often when when something
is a struggle for us it doesn't matter what it is okay learning something losing weight relationships whatever it is okay when something is a struggle for us we often just play the victim like oh man this is so hard I'm never going to get it right when you have that attitude you can't and you will never so you have to realize that you have to be in control of the journey you have to have the mindset of I can do this and I will do this and now watch me because it's going to happen and
sometimes you actually have to tell that to yourself because your brain might be believing something else your brain might be in victim mode okay or your emotions who knows okay so you might have to like jump out of yourself and like tell yourself okay we are not going to do this we are not going to have this mindset this mentality this is not serving you okay I've done this by the way uh many times and I do it whenever whenever I need like support from myself because one version of myself is not getting it done
then the other version comes out and goes no you're going to make this happen a great example is this video earlier today I tried recording this class and for some reason it was not coming out there was no flow it didn't feel good I could not get past the first three pages and and I tried for 35 minutes and then I was like I can't do it so I called Renzo and I was like I think I'm going to have to record tomorrow I don't know what's going on it's just not coming out and then
I walked back I had a iced coffee I was like maybe I need some caffeine and then um yeah I just like changed flipped a switch and was like Stephanie come on like no sit down record let's go and then but here we are so I'm not kidding some sometimes you are your own best coach if you find that you're getting into these negative mindsets of I can't do it and it's not going to work flip that switch baby and get your butt in gear because you're going to make things happen I know you will
and I know you can so again decide you will learn you're going to learn decide you will succeed there's no failure you're not going to fail you will succeed and then do it all right so you're telling your mind what's going to happen and then you do it and I promise you it works okay now we're going to talk about how to change the way you sound this is the Practical okay practical First you need to master the sounds okay of the accent you're trying to master the sounds are the building blocks you need to
get those down you need them you need to get them down right okay Master The Sounds learn how to link them okay learn how to link them then make them sound natural and then work on your delivery okay in a nutshell this is the nut nutshell this is not the long list I said that I have for you we're going to get to that this is just the nutshell okay Master The Sounds learn how to link them make them sound natural and then work on your delivery okay so how can you do this I'm going
to give you three methodologies so method one is what I did with Spanish observation and imitation okay I didn't take any classes I didn't take any courses I didn't have a teacher I did it all by myself obsessively okay observing how the language was used right so super obsessive detail oriented nothing could get past me I noticed almost everything so you have to be at that level with your observation it can't be like yeah sure I'll try or whatever no you have to be if has have you ever been obsessive about anything before because that's
that's the level okay so observation and then you imitate and then you observe and you imitate and you analyze what you're doing right and wrong and you tweak things okay this is the free method is the the method that you can do on your own and it's what I did now method two study and application so you study it right and you use different resources you can use videos you can use courses you can use classes a teacher whatever study and then you apply what you learn the best method though I think is method three
It's a combination of both right because you want to have that obsessive level of observation and imitation that's wonderful but it's also helpful when you study and when you have somebody there that can just give you the answers okay because the way I did it took years maybe I could have done it no for sure I could have done it a lot faster if somebody literally told me like n Stephanie you're doing this wrong or this is what you're supposed to do right that's that's so much faster so I think the best way is a
combination of both where you study it so it's like you can get the answers right away get the strategy get the fundamentals get the like here's the jigsaw puzzle and here's how we put it together boom now practice okay and then get feedback okay I think that is the best way because it combines The Best of Both Worlds okay so if you choose to study okay remember the study part is the part that involves getting finding the answers I should say finding the answers okay this is what you need to learn here is where I
will tell you everything the following is a comprehensive step-by-step framework I'm going to give you a heads up and say that everything I list here we I teach actually I teach in the Freedom program and more a lot more okay I tried making this list as comprehensive as possible but there are Minor Details uh that it would just this would be a very long I mean it's already a very long outline you will see but it would be a lot longer so I I teach all of this in the accent Freedom program however the reason
why I'm going to list it out step by step is because I know there are people here that won't be able to join the program and I want you to have the answers too or not really the answers I want you to know what the this is the what this is what you have to learn so that if you're unable to join the program for whatever reason you will still know exactly what you have to learn and then you can go out and try to learn it on your own okay it might take longer in
fact it probably will it's it's CRA it's a crazy world out there you guys when I had to put the accent Freedom program together and I had to like gather the information that I was going to teach it was a bit of a nightmare because everybody's teaching everything a little bit differently and we'll talk more about that later but but it's possible okay it's possible so I don't want to make you feel totally disheartened but anyhow here we go so first you have to choose an accent to study I highly recommend this because when it
comes to intonation and sounds okay um different English accents have totally different like rules here okay uh so it's just it's better and it's easier if you just focus on one accent okay next find a role model you can imitate this has to be somebody whose accent you like whose voice you like okay find a role model that you can imitate then the next step is you want to learn all the sounds of that accent accents don't have like an endless amount of sounds okay there's like a a a specific number of sounds that that
accent uses so learn those sounds because you're going to be using them again and again and again now what information if you have to go look this up on your own right what information should you look up well there are vowels okay the vowels and there are pure vowels diff thongs Etc okay so a pure vowel for example is like a e okay the vowel is where the air flows out of your mouth uninterrupted the D thong is a vowel but it changes like ow a okay you want to master those then consonants and there
are different kinds of consonants liquids stops fricatives Etc and the cool thing about the these consonants especially when you um learn about what specific type they are you can learn like how to articulate them in your mouth and where to place them and when you learn what a stop is what a frickative is what a liquid is it helps you understand the nature of the sound okay and when you understand the nature of the sound the sound itself makes a lot more sense okay so I highly recommend learning the International Phonetic Alphabet it's not mandatory
but it's definitely helpful now for those of you who don't know the International Phonetic Alphabet is an alphabet that basically assigns one symbol like a a symbol to each sound okay so that when you read a word in English if you're not sure how to pronounce it like this word you can just look it up with the International Phonetic Alphabet and it'll it'll tell you so if you see this word some people might think this is asid asid it's not if you look at it in the International Phonetic Alphabet we see that it's asked with
a t Okay so the International Phonetic Alphabet is super helpful however there's always a however at least with the IPA uh it's called the IPA also by the way here I should put that here okay the IPA um a couple problems with the IPA is that it's a system it's a tool and people use this tool differently people teach it differently people explain it differently people even sometimes use the symbols differently it can be like the Wild West out there when you're trying to learn the IPA so just do your best that's all I'll say
I again I teach it in the course but I have had to go through everything and I had to like figure it out and then I had to decide how I was going to teach it how I was going to use it as a tool to teach my accent okay so there are some decisions I had to make where I'm like okay some people are saying this but this does not make sense so I'm going to teach it to my students like this cuz this makes a lot more sense and I explain that whenever I
make any of those decisions or anything like that in my training I let people know like look you can go out there and this is what people are saying this is what they're using this is what they're teaching but it's it doesn't make any sense and by the way this this system is constantly evolving okay because they're making new discoveries about how sounds work and how sounds are placed and um in in language studies okay like I had to be like a linguist to make the accent Freedom course I don't want you to have to
be like a linguist so I'm kind of pulling you into some Linguistics drama here a little bit but you should know no uh hang on basically what happens sometimes in language spheres right people that study Linguistics and stuff like that is you get people that are so stuck on the old way of doing things and they don't want to change and then you get people that are like no no no the old way of doing things is inferior because it doesn't make as much sense and we have new data and new studies now and we
can explain this better now and they want to make changes to the system and then the other people don't so there a lot of that happens by the way fun fact my sister um has a bachelor's degree in linguistics she went to the University of Davis she did their Linguistics program there and when I was doing the making the accent Freedom program I was calling her all the time like hey why are people saying it's like this but it's actually like that and why is this and why is that and she goes oh my goodness
Stephanie I know it's so annoying it's so annoying and we had so many great conversations so I'm telling you all of this honestly because I'm warning you I want you to know what's out there what you're going to find and whenever you see somebody that says this is how the IPA is and this is I'm explaining it to you and this is how it is right did they tell you that they had to make certain decisions there to sit teach it this way rather than this way because of this and not that like that's the
thing it's like and that's how I like learning I like learning that there you know the intricacies of of systems because I feel like if you understand it deeply you can use it a lot better and then things will make sense so when you go to a dictionary okay and you see something you don't expect written in the IPA okay and that says oh it should be pronounced like this but native speakers actually say it like that you're gonna be like oh I know why because Stephanie explained this issue to me already okay sorry that
was a bit of a tangent but uh an important one nonetheless next you have to learn how to hear and make each valve sound correctly I think that's pretty self-explanatory but also learn the ad Advanced sounds that native speakers use intuitively these are the sounds that nobody ever teaches in like your regular English classes for example the aspirated TP and K let me tell you something when a word starts with these letters we add a little aspiration to it like can did you hear it in my microphone can see it's like puff of air right
I don't say can can okay um pot po pot okay not bot and this is a mistake that a lot of English Learners make is they don't add this aspiration and so that is one of the things that makes you sound like you have an accent because you're simply doing something different you know we don't do that in English we add the aspiration at the beginning of a word or a strong syllable and I'll give you a very Advanced um tip this is for well I guess you could say like people that are more advanced
in their English practice so a mistake that English Learners make with these sounds is they're let once they learn about aspiration they're like oh wow aspiration and so then they start overusing it and they start using it where they shouldn't for example instead of saying stop that t has no aspiration here stop no aspiration they might say stop stop talking stop okay and so they add an aspiration where there shouldn't be any aspiration and that is another thing that will make you sound like you have an accent okay next the right the reduced sound the
syllabic N the glottal stop okay these are all sounds that we use all the time in English but you might not learn about them in regular English classes because they're so busy teaching you the basics um that they're not teaching you these and these are just some examples okay uh next learn how to pronounce new words correctly uh yish is an amazing tool for this hopefully everyone here has heard of yish I should add. here ug.com when you want to know how how do native speakers actually say this word go to yish okay and look
it up and you can check in different accents and you can even compare like oh well British people say it like this Americans say it like this Australian say it like that it's really fun um and then on some words something that's really cool is you'll realize like you can look up the word important and go to American English see how they pronounce it and I bet you're going to hear a few different variations and that's because people pronounce this word differently and it's really important for you to learn about these variations so that you
don't feel like there is one right one right way that's a tongue twister one right way to practice or to say it I don't want you to box yourself in like that and feel like this is the right way and everything else is wrong no it's like almost never like that okay there is like flexibility in the language and I want you to you know as you're finding your accent freedom and finding your voice in English I want you to embrace this flexibility when I was learning Spanish I didn't embrace it at all I was
so rigid I was like no people over here say it like this there's one way to say it that's how I'm going to say it and now I'm like you know what if I want to say it with like a Mexican accent instead of an Argentinian accent then that's what I'm going to do um I have a lot more fun now when I speak Spanish and my accent has changed a little bit over I would say the last four years years or so because I've given myself the freedom to change it and to have more
fun how with how I communicate okay um next you need to learn how to stress words properly especially this is especially important with long words okay with long words that have multiple syllables there's going to be a primary stress somewhere in that word but then there's probably also going to be a secondary stress okay there's different strengths of stress that you have to pay attention to next you have to learn how when and why we use the schah super important then you have to learn how to pronounce borrowed words in English so borrowed words are
words that are not originally English words um learn how English Rhythm works and how to use it and a big tip here is that English is a stress timed language other languages are syllable timed and I think there's another timing as well but with a syllable timed language okay every single receives about the same amount of time when you say it that is like talking like this okay and a lot of students who come from a syllable timed language bring that Rhythm into English and that is why they sound a little bit robotic when they
speak okay I'm exaggerating a little bit so that everybody can like see what I'm talking about but English is stress timed okay so what this means is the syllable doesn't determine the length of time the timing is there and it's like this like the Rhythm Is there D D D D when you speak okay and then the stressed words tend to fall on the beat okay and then everything else in between is just like reduced reduced reduced reduced so that you can get those stressed words on the beat okay it's kind of like music in
a way um and it's yeah it's actually a really fun thing to learn and practice so uh next learn how how to link words smoothly when you speak learn common reductions and contractions I have some examples here so um this sentence the pizza is ready let's say I'm cooking pizza and you're at my house and then I'm like okay the pizza is ready I wouldn't actually say it like that I would say oh hey the pizza's ready and I wouldn't even say the to be quite honest I'd be like hey pizza's ready pizza's ready pizza's
ready okay next is her mom here okay you could say it like that that's fine okay um but you will often hear people say is your mom here is her mom here see how they're reducing the her down to her iser is her is her mom here okay next learn when why and how to drop sounds so want to becoming Wana got to becoming got should have becoming Shoulda and then some other examples good night if I just say good night that's gonna sound strange I'd be like hey good night good night Governor some people
say governor governor okay I don't really but some people do governor governor yeah okay next you want to learn common intonation patterns and how intonation changes the message of what you're saying so that you don't accidentally sound sarcastic when you're being serious or um you know vice versa next you want to learn how to be and sound more expressive without feeling fake oh my goodness this is a big one because you want to be able to play with word stress and sentences and intonation and facial expressions and all of these things but you don't want
to feel like you're an animation of yourself okay you don't want to feel like a cartoon or like you're somebody that you're not but you do have to find a way to be an expressive version of yourself right for impact for communication impact and uh it's better when people communicate with each other for them to be um you know somewhat expressive what happens with a lot of people in English when they're learning it is they can get very rigid and I sometimes I don't know if like that's how you really speak in your native language
or are you just focusing so hard on your pronunciation that you're forgetting to like use your face and be expressive or use the tone of your voice that's another important one but you can learn these things okay you can learn how to use your voice to be more expressive while also feeling like you're being true to yourself but don't go overboard because then that could be distracting you want to use you want to use um these elements of expressiveness I guess for lack of a better word to um capture people's attention and to pull them
along in whatever you're saying um you don't want to feel like a cartoon or you don't want it to be distracting because that's a different story okay next how to design your own unique voice in English again I highly recommend that you shoot for that so you can like create something of your own that doesn't exist anywhere else in the world and be proud of it and it does doesn't mean that you can't go after whatever your goals are okay like if you're like no but Stephanie well I don't want to find my voice I
want to sound like an American yes sound like an American but do it in your own way find your own voice okay not every American sounds the same anyways okay so just really make sure you're focused on using your voice to express who you are next uh pronunciation and accent choices that won't ruin your Clarity this is huge this is actually like okay I have a whole lesson multiple lessons actually in the accent Freedom course that are about this specifically because teaching students this and it comes later in the course but they were so relieved
when they got this lesson and let me explain why again for the first six weeks of the accent Freedom program we literally focus on imitating me because we're helping the students learn how to change their voice and we're getting them comfortable with new sounds and new ways of talking and stuff like that but it can be very difficult and exhausting and you can feel like a failure for 6 weeks straight cuz it's so hard right it's hard it can be fun and depending on your personality you might take it better than some students or I
don't know everyone's journey is individual right but after they tried for six weeks to sound like me okay and then I told them by the way it's okay if you actually don't do this or don't do that you're still going to be clear and everyone is still going to understand you there are choices that you have when it comes to your accent and when you make those choices then you are taking agency over your English and saying I know that Americans for example use our control vowels but you know what I'm not going to because
I don't have to and I don't want to and I will still be clear think about it in the UK people don't pronounce this car they say car okay they don't say here they say here they don't say more they say more okay so maybe my British accent could use some work but you get the point okay and this is one of the choices that you have you do not have to use R controlled vowels if you find them difficult if you don't like how they sound and if you don't want to do the work
if you're like you know what I just don't want to have to learn this one less thing to learn perfect you don't have to you will still be clear your English can still be amazing okay without this this is one of the choices you have and there are lots of these little choices that you can make that will still make your English sound clear and natural and and all the things okay um and so anyways when I did this lesson for my students they were just like so relieved because they tried so hard to sound
like me and then after the lesson you know some people were like I don't care if I have these choices I still want to make I still want to sound American perfect that's cool and then other students were like oh this is good to know really really good to know so again that's what's important is for you to know you have choices next finding your optimal pitch for a confident attractive voice I think this is one of those things people don't ever think about but for example if you're a man and I've seen this quite
quite a lot um sometimes men end up with a pitch in English that is too high and doesn't sound natural and is more High than even in their native language so it gives them this feminine sounding voice now here's the thing if you want a feminine sounding voice that's fine but most men don't want a feminine sounding voice right so you have to find here how to choose the right resonance placement also the pace of your speech that's a different topic though like how slow or fast you talk but it's really important for you to
have the right the optimal pitch for your voice because the your optimal pitch will be more attractive and it will sound more confident for women too some women might have a a pitch that's a little too high or a little too low or right but you want to find where that pitch is for you so that you can have the most confident attractive voice possible and it is totally possible to change your placement of your voice uh and it can have a different effect on how people perceive you okay I'll just stop that there and
you can you know imagine the rest okay so um next how to support your voice to command Authority I talked about this recently in one of my YouTube videos so improve your posture use your diaphragm project I mean these are the basics um but this is important you really want to support your voice because it helps it helps people take you more seriously when we say like oh command Authority you might be like I don't want to be a military Sergeant like I'm not here to command Authority it just like helps people take you more
seriously it's like when you support your voice people know oh you mean business okay um and when people don't support their voice when they speak sometimes people will simply speak over them um or just not take them as seriously be rude okay it's a it's a wild world out there and your voice is going to help you get things and or it could you know get things taken from you so keep that in mind uh next how to relax and release tension in your speech this is important so that you don't get tired when you
speak okay A lot of times people can get really tired from speaking English and they get a lot of tension in their throat so you want to be able to relax and release that tension next um bad speaking habits to avoid and how to avoid them for example don't speak too quickly this should be like this and a lot of people think that oh I need to speak quickly native speakers speak quickly native speakers don't often speak quickly I mean yes sometimes we do sometimes we do but often times what is quick to you in
your mind is simply us using connected speech it feels fast because of how we are linking our words but maybe we are not speaking that quickly maybe if you would just link your words you would be able to speak at the same rate so don't speak too quickly do take your time when you speak because if you rush through what you say and I've seen some of my students do this when you rush through what you're saying you're basically saying what I'm saying is not important and I don't value my time enough to give myself
the time to get it out and I'm too afraid that I'm going to annoy you with whatever I'm saying so I'm going to take as little of your time as possible when I speak that is the message that is getting communicated when you speak too fast so if you're going to speak speak okay and take your time and pause and make people wait it's okay it is okay don't be rushed don't allow yourself to feel rushed and don't allow people to rush you if they do try to rush you excuse me I'm not finished I
was saying something I'd like to finish even if you sometimes have to do it like that and it might sting a little you can and other times you know there you there are ways to be depending on the situation there are ways to be a little more diplomatic but hey sometimes you can't really go for diplomacy next uh you want to learn the characteristics of a confident engaging speaker this is not just about being a public speaker and presentations and stuff although it works for that too and one of these characteristics is don't hold back
okay a confident engaging speaker doesn't hold back they are committed okay they are committed to what so even if you're sharing an anecdote at the dinner table you don't want to be like kind of shy just sort of holding back as you talk it's like be committed even if you make a mistake or whatever right next you want to you want to learn how to use thought groups and the power of pausing peak in chunks oh speak in chunks I was like what was I trying to say there okay so um how again learn how
to use thought groups and the power of pausing a big tip here is to speak in chunks we don't speak continuously ongoing without taking any breaks and just going on and on and on because then it would be really hard for people to understand what we're saying and I know I speeded up my speech there but it was even hard for me to think about what I was saying just now because I wasn't you know what a pause is a pause is a break it's a break for you and your listener and you need the
breaks and your listener needs them too if you just go on and on and on without even those one second two second 3 second pauses okay it's going to be very hard to follow what you're saying and for you as the speaker it's going to be hard to think on on your feet and that's what you have to do speaking with other people presentations a lot of this is spontaneous I can't talk spontaneous speech you have to be able to think on your feet and the key to doing this is chunking down your language okay
chunking it down and speaking one phrase at a time you want to have like these little micro pauses in between um smaller thought groups okay and after like in between sentences or ideas you can have bigger thought groups and I'll I'll give you another um example of this really fast when I say something and I go however you will always or almost always hear me make a little pause there however and this is my where is it that's my little pause okay however it's not always like this did you see how I paused there okay
please embrace the pause embrace the pause it is there for you okay next you need to learn how to deliver a powerful message uh speech presentation because that's part of life right I mean at some point we all find ourselves giving a speech at someone's wedding giving a presentation at work uh or maybe you find yourself in an argument and you're like dang it I just want people to take me seriously um so you want to learn how to you know get people to take you seriously so here's a tip here ask yourself the question
am I pretending to be someone I'm not or am I showing up as my most authentic self I'll tell you when this helps me and by the way all this advice comes from like my own experience and stuff too um when I'm teaching a class okay or in the instances where I have given a presentation at a conference or something like that uh it's easy to get nervous it's easy to feel like oh my gosh I'm going to fail this isn't going to work okay in those moments just ask yourself am I trying to pretend
to be someone I'm not right now like am I trying to be the funny girl or the cool girl or the smart girl like are you trying to be a Persona because again when you try to be a Persona then you're putting yourself in the territory of performance right and then you're going to be afraid and have anxiety because you think people are going to judge your performance don't perform remember what I said earlier just don't put your don't ever put yourself in that scenario if you show up as your most authentic self it's not
a performance and nobody can judge you because you are who you are okay and you're fine with who you are so you're not seeking anyone's approval so it's just like it really helps get those nerves off when you show up to an interview like don't feel like you have to be the really smart techy guy with everything together and all the answers right um I actually remember this one time I helped my friend prepare for an interview this is such a good story and um she was like okay Stephanie come over we're going to practice
interview questions and I'm going to answer them and this girl was such a cool girl like I loved the way she expressed herself she was very much like me very an at and how she spoke and fun and had a bright smile and so um when we were practicing uh and I'd be like okay so why do you feel qualified for this position or whatever she'd be like well I have a bachelor's degree in this and I've done this and I really appreciate the opportunity to and it was just like vanilla like girl where is
your personality you know like you just like washed took a shower and washed it all off where is it bring it back like she had the coolest like curly hair you know she just had everything going for her with her personality I'm like why would you ever diminish that oh my goodness so I had to stop her like after question three I was like please stop I was like I know you and this is not you and you are so cool and so funny and so like your personality is so wonderful you know and just
you're just awesome like why are you diminishing Who You Are by acting like you're so put together girl you are not put together no I'm just kidding she was a very put together person but she had a lot of personality and I I thought it was important for her to show that because personality helps us connect to other people and if you're just like it's like if it's like just staring at a blank face how are people going to connect and she was so she told me she was so worried about like appearing professional and
I'm like you are professional like you get to work on time you do a really good job you do what like everything that a professional would do but you're also a human so like Embrace that and um I think the interview ended up going very well but it was a very interesting experience for me because I hadn't helped prepare a lot of people for interviews and this was years ago and just seeing her whole personality get wiped out in a Flash I was like oh my gosh no so it doesn't matter if you are more
of the like boring person it doesn't matter I'm not out here saying everybody needs to have loads of Personality I'm saying you need to be who you are because it would be equally true if a guy with like you know who's just pretty like even Steven like yeah I I I do my job and maybe he doesn't laugh a lot doesn't tell a lot of jokes if he came to an interview and tried to be the jokester when you could tell that he's not like that would just be awful for everybody okay that would not
look good it doesn't matter how your what your personality is you got to sink into that and let give yourself permission for that to really be part of you in your native language and in English okay hopefully I made my point there but by the way there are lots of these like tips okay about how to deliver a powerful message and speech that's just one of them okay I'm back I've been talking for a while so I needed to refill my water okay uh so okay the next thing is how to improve your presentation skills
I'm finding typos in my presentation what's going on with this okay um oh next I added this last minute because I realized I hadn't talked about it and it's actually super important but you have to if if you're somebody who struggles with this you have to learn how to deal with any anxiety or negative thoughts that are holding you back because when it comes to pronunciation A lot of it is technical okay it's like okay this is how to do stress like stress words in English this is how to do this this is how to
do this and then you need to work on it you need to have a strong mindset powerful mind right so where if you fail which you will you'll get back up again and keep trying but sometimes it goes beyond just the technical here's how to pronounce it here's how to speak here's how do this okay now now imitate me now Shadow this and do that sometimes it goes beyond that and you actually have certain beliefs around who you are and how you sound and what's okay and not okay and other people around you and what
they believe about you and stuff like that and sometimes you have to dig really really deep into that stuff to work on it because ultimately you don't want to carry that burden with you forever you want to put it away actually not away cuz putting it away means like you're keeping it you know what you want to you how should I explain this let me pause let me think about how to explain this basically you just want to release the burden you want to let it go that was the term I guess I was looking
for you want to let it go like okay this has been with me for years I don't want to hold on to this anymore it's not helping me I just realized my top light back there it couldn't hang it was like okay Stephanie's class is too long I'm out bye oh my goodness when did that happen okay sorry sorry sorry get back back on track back on track so when you have these negative thoughts and belief um beliefs that are holding you back or making you feel like you can't reach your full potential or you
all of that okay you have to analyze what is it where is it coming from why do I have it okay and then you have to let it go let it go or you might have to replace it with a different belief okay and it is possible it is possible but it's going to take some work and it's not easy it's not often easy I remember for me one of my big moments when I realized I was dealing with a lot of anxiety and negative thoughts and beliefs with my um Journey was okay I think
it was 2017 yeah I think it was 2017 I had been a fluent Spanish speaker at this point for years amazing accent beautiful pronunciation wonderful everything um and yet I was so nervous anytime I had to speak with my husband's family in Spanish I had to like give myself a pep talk um just so I could be ready to be in their presence and I don't know why around some people in Spanish I was fine right and then around his family and specific people in his family sometimes I would feel so nervous and that went
on for years and it finally got to a point where I realized it cuzz I didn't even realize it was happening this is the crazy thing like I didn't even realize it was happening I was getting super nervous and anxious around some people not around everybody and then I had to ask myself like why does this happen and I don't remember like if I ever came to any conclusions other than I'm done I am done with this I don't like this I don't want this I'm not going to allow this um but yeah sometimes you
have to get become aware of what it is first before you can deal with it I mean obviously okay next um you have to learn how to fully own your identity as an English speaker and a lot of people don't think about this they don't think like oh I'm an English speaker a lot of people that speak English don't even consider themselves to be English speakers they consider themselves to be English Learners or non-native speakers okay but you need to get to a point where you can own this identity and be able to confidently say
I am an English speaker or simply I speak English okay without any ifs ANS or buts or sorry for my accent my pronunciation blah blah blah blah blah okay you want to get to a point where you are just like me an English speaker and you can say that confidently and not really feel neither here nor there about it I mean maybe you can feel proud right like because you worked hard but at some point you also want to get past that and I'll tell you why because it doesn't matter it's like you speak English
when I think about being a Spanish speaker I'm not like so proud I'm a Spanish speaker it's like I speak Spanish and all right and I think that to me is like you know you've arrived when okay because again I don't mean to downplay if you are proud of being an English speaker because that's great and it is something to be proud of and you you you will go through that before you get to yeah I speak English okay but there's a significance here when speaking English is just mundane being an English speaker is just
mundane it means it is such a part of your identity you just don't think much about it it's like yeah I'm a woman I'm an English speaker yeah I'm from California yeah I'm you know it just it just is okay and that's great because when you arrive there it means English is not a problem for you anymore it means you're focused on other things you're learning other things you're doing other things you know and that's great that's great cuz right now English is probably a concern English is something you're working on and the goal is
to get to a place where you feel like you have arrived okay and I know we say like oh the journey is forever and you will always there will always be more to learn it's true there's always more to learn in Spanish too I could keep improving if I wanted to but I've arrived and I've made my peace with that I've made my peace with the fact that I could keep improving but for what I need in my life with this language I have arrived and I'm glad because I had a goal I set out
to reach the goal and I achieved it so there it is my friends okay so now now you know what you need to learn remember in the beginning I told you like I'm going to tell you everything you need to learn right so again I teach all of this and a whole lot more in my accent Freedom program so now I want to talk to you more about this program so you can determine DET if this program is right for you right let's talk about it so I'm going to share the course structure course curriculum
what to expect and who it's for okay accent Freedom so this is your journey to clear confident authentic English Okay so and again whether you want to sound like an American or you want to sound like yourself or you want to be clear or what whatever your goals are right we already established that it's about changing the way that you sound and most likely you're trying to sound clear confident and authentic and then whatever stylistic accent you want that's totally up to you okay so the course structure this is a 12-week program it's 100% online
you can use any device it is a structured program this is super important because it's step by step there's week one then there's week two everything is dripped out week by week okay it's not a course where you jump in and then you just jump around and you choose like oh I guess I'll watch this and I guess I'll skip here and I'll skip there and I'll do this it's like no I created a journey for you I didn't just create a course I created a journey and I do not want you jumping to week
five if you have not consumed week one first and then week two and then week three and then week four then you'll be ready for week five because it is a journey it's not a skip around learn this then learn that and the other reason is because a lot of the information uh builds upon itself it's like I need you to go through week two so that you understand week three okay it's it's very it's highly structured the most structured type of course you could ever join okay everything it's like step one then step two
then step three and every week you're going to get a weekly itinerary okay I also put the videos in a certain order at the very end there's homework right okay so you get new content each week you get an email from me like hey welcome to week two and then here's the content go over here watch it there's a weekly itinerary things to remember homework Etc um so you will learn in this course everything uh mentioned before and so much more right and then the primary format of the course is videos but we also have
audio files and PDFs and then uh basically you will also get practice and prepare for re life success so this isn't just a watch the videos course it's like there's homework every week you don't have to do it but I have highly recommend you do the homework highly recommend because that is where you will put into practice everything that you're learning that is how I get to push you out of your comfort zone remember watching videos is very comfortable for you I'm sure but the homework is where I get to go okay now it's your
turn um okay and you get personalized feedback every step of the way so every week there are a certain number of tasks usually like three or four tasks that you do and you turn in and then you get personalized feedback and I just realized I forgot to write something on here I'll write it in a second so I don't forget and you get personalized feedback we have teachers amazing teachers that are working with us and they check all of the homework every single thing every I don't want to give any uh all of the homework
they check everything and they give you personalized feedback uh come let me put it here okay then there are 32 and 1 half hours of training in the program but this is not including the bonus is and I also think it's not including some of the live sessions that I did in the past that you get access to and you'll be able to see the replay because it's full of really really important and good information so it's a lot all right that's more than a full day my friend uh this is like taking a college
level course okay the amount of time you spend on the program the amount of content within the program um but personally I do think it's better because I don't know any college course anywhere where you can get all the information that's packed into this course this is like taking a speaking public speaking course and a Linguistics course and an English course and it's like doing that allinone it is jam packed jam-packed and I could have made probably at least three different courses out of this one course but I didn't want to do that to you
or me okay I wanted to make one program and be done with it uh and I wanted you to only have to do one program and be done with it so it's intense and you're going to see this word again trust me okay next there is a community element as well because I love bringing um my students together in online Facebook groups we have found this to be the easiest best platform for our community to connect this is where you turn in the homework this is where you get feedback on your homework um you connect
with your peers you're going to be able to do study sessions together it's really really cool now if you're like oh my gosh Stephanie I don't like Facebook I don't have Facebook just make a Facebook account okay you don't have to post what you had for lunch just make the account because you're going to want to be a part of this community trust me it's amazing you're going to connect with really cool people next um there's lifetime access to this program and I think I put this somewhere later but I'm going to add it here
um future rounds are free so you never have to pay to join a new round of the course let's say you join right now you do the course and you're like oh my gosh Stephanie wiped me out with all that information and homework and I'm gonna have to do this course again okay that happens or sometimes you know some some unexpected thing happens Midway through the course and you can't really finish it so we do this program once to twice a year every year and you will be invited personally we will email you you will
be invited to join future rounds again 100% free you don't have to pay anymore and you also get feedback again 100% free so that's really cool we also have a 30-day money back guarantee because I don't want you just to join right now like decide this is the program for you and join I mean that would be great right but I I understand that you're going to need to go through the program for a while to make your final decision okay we don't want students that are not going to do the work that are not
going to care that are going to forget about the program or not like it or not get results so if for any reason you're like you know what never mind I thought I wanted this I don't want it you have 30 days to make that decision that is a lot of time you're gonna get content all the way through week five week five week five is amazing okay you're gonna get all a ton of content lessons opportunities you're even going to get feedback you're going to get all kinds of things you have 30 days to
make your final decision all right so take advantage take advantage okay now let's talk about the course curriculum um I will explain this in Greater detail below under this video um so I'm going to go through it kind of quickly here basically there are six modules in the course there are five core modules um where I do most of the training and teaching and then module six is review wrapup and basically preparing you to continue on and succeed without the course even though of course you'll still have access to it etc etc um what I
I don't want to do is leave you with you going oh where do I go from here okay so module one is the path to success and this is where you're going to get all the building blocks the most important things like the sounds we're going to be working with um how those sounds change in different environments the mindset you're going to need to have um and things you're going to need to be aware of as you go through the course etc etc so that's module one each module by the way takes two weeks then
we're going to go from there to Rhythm and clarity then we're going to talk about finding flow then designing your voice and stealing the spotlight and review and wrap up and like I said read about this below because I'm going to explain what each of these things means but all again all the information I talked about before it's going to be somewhere in here in one of these modules we're going to learn about it and then there are some really cool bonuses the a uh I can't talk the amazing American accent sound bank and I'm
going to give you a sneak peek in here too this is a full course so with accent Freedom course you're also going to get another full course but this course is different because you get immediate instant access to everything and it's a sound bank so in week one of the accent Freedom program I teach you all the sounds and we move on all right we move on because there's more to do but for the students who are like I need more help with the sounds I made the amazing American accent sound bank so you can
go deep into every single sound okay so you'll find that it's very very helpful then we have the fluent pronunciation training this is a shadowing archive like a Content archive where I'm just putting shadowing material M extra material that will help you um study learn connected speech stuff like that and then the speakup mindset training this is for students who really lack confidence and really struggle with anxiety when they speak and it's all about uh obviously speaking up in English but really working on your mindset working on the thoughts and the patterns that are holding
you back it's really cool it's a podcast style um content archive again it's not like there's any order here you can choose which what you listen to and when Etc but there are also transcripts so you can listen to the audio and follow along with the transcript if you find new words if you want you can actually practice shadowing reading it out loud and then most importantly hopefully the information will be uh transformative for you okay so here are a few things about what to expect as I said before this is a university LEL program
I spent how many years three years at University and so I know the intensity of those programs and I would actually say this is more intense we'll talk about that later I don't want to scare you I am so sorry I don't mean to scare you away from this program what I mean is that this is a comprehensive program this is the most comprehensive program I think you will ever see and look my other light my other light gave out seriously these guys can't hang these guys can't hang okay um it's fast-paced it feels very
fast-paced because everything happens like this there here's a week here's a week here's a week content homework content homework feedback and there's no break there's no planned breaks in the course for a couple reasons I didn't want to draw everything out longer than necessary it would take more of your time and some of the students are like fine with the pace they're able to keep up just fine um and I I just 12 weeks is already a long time I didn't want to make it longer so here's what I recommend if you start I mean
you'll get these recommendations inside the course too but the first time you can just go through it and just try to keep up even if you feel like you're drowning because it is a lot of information have you ever been in a program like that before where you're like whoa I'm learning everything and I'm learning it all at once this is crazy okay it's intense and but just go through it just go with it just like let that current take you and you can always do the course again once the course ends you can always
go back to the lessons that you want to study more indepthly okay um next this is 100% based on my accent the accent Freedom program when we do the imitation part when I'm teaching you and you do the imitation part it's based on my accent because I am an authority on my accent I don't teach General American English I don't teach how other people speak English I teach how I speak English and I recognize that there are Americans that might sound different from me not that might that do sound different okay and that's fine so
if you like how I speak if you like my rhythm my intonation my pronunciation you're going to love the course because I break it all down for you and obviously like my accent fits into American accents but maybe you never realize this before there are so many Accents in the US and then on top of that every person has their own way of speaking okay every single person has their own way of speaking so I teach you based on my way of speaking um next there are no live classes unless they are surprise bonuses and
you have to be okay with this because some students when they join a program for some reason they want like live classes and I'm like why don't you want the flexibility to like watch the training when you can also in live classes a lot of time gets wasted if I record the class and then I edit it and we do really tight editing so that there's no like dead space and pauses you're going to be able to get through the information a lot faster trust me if the course edited Down super tightly is 32 and
a half hours imagine you know what a course with no editing would be anyways so no live classes I think it wastes too much time and uh I have other things that I have to do too to support the students on their journey I don't want to get wrapped up in delivering live classes also remember what I said earlier about the kind of teacher that I am I get bored if I have to say the same thing over and over and over again I'm not that kind of teacher and I have had to accept that
about myself so my students have to accept it too I like to do all the research do all the work I need to get my head so deep inside everything to make my presentation and to go boom like this presentation I'm doing right now the reason I'm able to go through it like boom boom boom boom is because I've been putting it together for four days I've been thinking about this presentation I've been you know going through things in my mind if I have to do this presentation in two months I'll be like uh I
I don't know what to say like I guess I'll say it like this and I guess I'll say it like that it won't be as animated it won't be as interesting because too much time has gone by I'm thinking about other things you know so I actually love pre-recording my training because I know that I can get really deep into everything and then I can show up and teach and really get through things like boom boom boom and then I can also move on my brain needs to move on I need to do other things
I need to teach other things so um I'm sorry if anybody is disappointed but there are no live classes some times I might do a surprise bonus where we bring the students together and we do something but I'm not going to promise that in the course because it also depends what season of life that I'm in and again I feel like I've talked about this for a long time hopefully you are okay with that again sometimes people are like but I want to talk directly to the teacher I want that kind of feedback or that
kind of course I mean if it's a deal breaker maybe the accent Freedom program is not for you hopefully it's not though because you can learn a lot just by watching a presentation I mean if you're at this point in the video that means that you've clearly learned something from your time here with me so now Imagine Learning even more and this video is probably not going to be edited uh my other training videos are definitely edited okay next we do give out certificates of completion at the end of the course in order to earn
your certificate of completion you must complete every homework assignment okay so there's a condition there we don't just give these out willy-nilly okay you have to earn it um next there is a suggested study path like week one then week two week three and you know do these things do it in this order so you can follow that path or you can go at your own pace if you need to take 20 weeks to complete this program that is okay the teachers will be giving feedback for sure for the first 12 weeks I can't promise
feedback after the 12 weeks um but obviously the content is still going to be there you'll have access and you can go through it and you can still do homework and submit it and that uh we said this already so future rounds are free and students should expect to spend about 4 to 7even hours a week on the program now four to seven hours a week do you have that kind of time if you don't if you're like I only have two hours a week you can still join you just will go at a slower
Pace that is perfectly okay but I need to set people up with realistic expectations because I value you so much as a student and I don't want to be like come and join like you're only going to need to spend two hours a week or one and a half hours a week and you're going to transform your English it's like no like I said and like I keep saying it's intense comprehensive University level program um this is not how should I say this how many times have I said that during this class how should I
say this anyways I think you get the point okay so who is the program 4 if you understand 80% of what I say I think you're ready for the program you might feel like you're a beginner or an intermediate advance I don't know but you need to understand me because there are no subtitles on the videos as far as I know I don't think we put them there so you have to understand what I say um you if you're the kind of person that wants detailed easy to follow training you're going to love this program
it is so detailed you've never gotten so many details in your life I guarantee it okay but it's also easy to follow because I planned everything you guys the the level of thinking went into this program it took months it took months because I really had to go like oh my gosh this is such a big problem how am I going to teach all of these things how am I going to structure the information how am I going to do this how am I I going to do that I need to make it easy I
need to make it intuitive I need to make it easy to follow so I had to make like the master plan and then I had to go in and figure out like what order I was going to teach everything in and and then within each presentation there's like an order to the information as well so it's uh it's a lot but it's very very detailed and it's easy to follow because of the level of organization and by the way that is one of the things my students love the most about this program and I think
my other programs as well I don't remember but they're like wow it's so organized so you will like that okay you will love this program if you want a shortcut to better English like I said you totally can do this on your own if you want right remember the the method observation and imitation so it is possible people do it all the time I even did it it's possible to do it on your own but if you're like oh that sounds like a lot of work I just want a shortcut it's going to be work
either way like it's going to be work doing it yourself or it's going to be work coming with me and learning you get to choose what kind of work you want to do but if you want the shortcut I guarantee the accent Freedom program is the shortcut because I just I did all the research for you I did all the thinking for you I did all the work for you the presentation everything so it'll be definitely the shortcut okay next you have time to invest in your education okay again and I'm emphasizing this because sometimes
people come into my programs and then they ask for a refund two weeks later and they go I am so sorry it is such a wonderful program I just don't have time and it's like we always tell our students that it's going to take time so why did you even join if you knew you didn't have time or weren't truly dedicated to making the time because sometimes time isn't something we have it's something we make right let's be honest okay so if you have the time or if you're willing to make the time defin definitely
this program is for you next you are ready to leave your comfort zone please do not join the I'm I'm serious okay please do not join the course if you're not ready to do new things and try new things and get out of your comfort zone you have to get out of your comfort zone in order for changes to occur in order to have those aha moments in order to transform as an English speaker yeah nobody is over here saying it's going to be easy okay I'm definitely not saying it's going to be easy I'm
saying it might be hopefully for you exciting invigorating challenging ing wonderful but easy uh no okay next you are excited to join the program then join you're going to love it like don't join if you're reluctant if you're just like I guess I guess I'll give it a try nah just don't just wait just wait until you're ready I only want students to join if they feel super excited to join to learn with me to study be and I you know the reason why is because that's how we learn that is such a fundamental part
to learning if you're if you're trying to learn something but you're also reluctant just give up because your brain won't tolerate the whatever it goes into studying and learning okay so again I'm being serious if you're excited you're fine come join us um if you're reluctant eh it's probably better for you not to okay next I want to share with you a few things that some of my students have said about the program I also want to be very honest and say I am very bad at collecting testimonials it's kind of like I know it
should be a priority because it helps show people like how wonderful your programs are but I'm usually too busy and just prioritizing other things um but I have collected some uh from our first round of the program and the students really really loved it so I I should say the students who finished the students who didn't finish I don't know what they thought of it because they they either didn't tell me or they didn't finish I know a lot of them got busy um but when we get testimonials this this is actually important for you
to know and this I should say when we get a testimonial like this it is alwayss from a student who has finished the course and received their certificate of completion we do not try to get testimonials from students who stopped doing the course or gave up or whatever because that is not our ideal student or I should say that is not the student that we want to necessarily lift up as an example for others right we want to lift up the student who went through it who did went on the journey did the hard work
and came out on the other side got their certificate of completion then we're going to ask them what did you think of the course cuz you watched all the lessons you did all the homework so if anybody knows you know what this course is like and what other people should know about this program it's you so tell us what you think and then here are some of the things students have said this is the longest one by the way because I felt like the whole story was really relevant and important this is from Alie from
Haiti so I joined the accent freedom program because for a long time I have been struggling with my accent I often felt ashamed when people ask me to repeat again I always thought it's because of my heavy accent this mindset deprived me for a long time of my freedom to speak when I discovered the accent Freedom program I immediately said to myself that this is the course I have been waiting for I hesitated a while because of the price but I finally decided to take it and I am glad I did I improved my accent
a lot I am now free of the fear of speaking with native speakers that's huge by the way I think that's so awesome I was recently asked by my boss to teach English for a class of 17 air traffic controllers before the accent Freedom program this is not a possibility I would even think about I truly recommend this program to everyone who would like to improve their accent and boost their confidence while speaking English the course is well structured packed with useful information and built in a way to get you from not being sure of
your pronunciation to a clear confident English accent so we have a few more uh that I wanted to share so this is David from Mexico he said this is the first time in my life that I feel confident speaking English if you want to improve your English pronunciation and feel more confident speaking English the accent Freedom program with Stephanie really works and it's worth it by the way I want to say quickly here this is why I love making programs because when I make YouTube videos as fun as those can be to make and read
comments and stuff you can't give students homework you can't get people to take action right but in a course people are so dedicated they come expecting to learn take action and get results like it's a totally different ball game and that's why I love making courses because I get to think of a journey that I want to take you on create that journey and then let you have all these experiences that are going to build your confidence teach you what you need to know Etc okay next um Patricia from Venezuela she said so many wonderful
things about the program but this is what I wanted to highlight homework is pure fun I had a blast doing my projects they got me out of my comfort zone many times so this is what I aim to do also it's like I don't just want to give boring homework actually nothing that I do with when it comes to homework is traditional like any of the homework you've ever done in any of your English classes before trust me you will be doing things you've never done before um but hopefully like Patricia you will have a
blast you'll get out of your comfort zone but you also improve and have fun Fabiana from Brazil said this is a complete and intense course remember when I said you're going to see the word intense again yes here it is and it has all the tools we need to support us during our improving speaking Journey so she had also wonderful things to say but I like how so many of the students highlighted the intensity of the program okay um next this is clenia from Brazil she said after my entire experience in this program I can
say this course is fantastic not just because of the rich content but because of how it was delivered it isn't boring it's intense there we have that word again oh really intense but I had a lot of fun in this program I strongly recommend this program for you so what I like about what these students say is it's intense but it's fun and it's like intense and fun can go hand inand sometimes we do intense programs and classes that are no fun at all like you want to kill yourself as you go through them you're
just like I hate this but here is an example of how you can have a lot of fun even though it's intense okay and a couple notes all of these students spoke English before the program I think this is important because I'm not like taking these students from being like they don't speak English and now they speak English that's not what we're doing here we're working on your voice your pronunciation so you already speak English maybe your your level is intermediate maybe it's Advanced okay but you speak English but maybe you don't consider yourself to
be an English speaker you struggle with confidence you don't like how you sound people don't understand you so that I added this here because I think it also clarifies like who this program is for and what to expect also this was so cool uh one student who is a doctor compared doing the accent Freedom program to her time in med school I was so proud I was like thank you but also why and how but basically she I think it also had to do with like the intensity and the level of detail like she had
not had that kind of learning experience since she was in med school and I was just like thank you I'll take it I take my comp my compliments when and how they come okay um and then one of my students I think this was from clenna she said of all your programs this one is the cherry on top and basically and she said something like this is your greatest work or something like that and clena is student I'm I'm like 99% sure this was from clenia but I know regardless of who said it it was
from a student who had taken all of my other courses they know what all of my other courses are about and the content the homework and this is what she had to say about this one so I was like oh thank you yeah it was a lot of work it was a lot of work putting together okay um okay so now just just to wrap up this video I want to ask you what would having clear confidence authentic English mean to you and based on what I know about having clear confident Spanish um I can
tell you that it means you will feel better when you speak you will be ready for any opportunity you will be able to speak confidently in job interviews or pass English tests with greater ease right like any English test that you have to take will be a lot easier after this um you will be able to advocate for yourself and your family okay this is so important especially for those of you that live in the US if you feel like nervous when you have to go to the doctor or talk to somebody who's an authority
here you really as an adult living in the US anywhere in the world that uses English you have to be able to advocate for yourself and if not you might get pushed around you might get dismissed it's not cool so it's so awesome to have the courage and the communication skills to be able to do that next uh you'll be able to connect more with your community especially if you're living in an English speaking country uh you will be able to relax and participate more in conversations like conversations will be more enjoyable um you will
be able to enjoy more intimate relationships and I'm talking about all kinds of relationships I'm talking about friendships um relationships with your co-workers but also dating meeting people connecting okay the more comfortable you are as an English speaker the more you'll be able to use this language to connect with people and to have intimacy even if it's just emotional intimacy with people making friends okay um getting connected to your neighborhood to your neighbors next uh you'll feel more confident at work more confident and um I forgot the word I'm looking for hang on it was
competent I was looking for the word competent you will feel more confident and competent at work you'll be more clear people will understand you you won't experience so many miscommunications and also you will be able to build your brand and Authority if this is something that you want to do right A lot of people you know that come through our programs they are experts in some field or I mean you don't even have to be an expert it's like whatever it is whatever hobby you have some people are like you know what I want to
be an influencer I want to build a brand online or maybe you already have a business but you're not putting it out there you're not making content online to tell people about it because you're like oh My English isn't good enough but when you have clear confident engl Engish that feels authentic to you then you will be free to build your brand and your Authority online offline wherever it may be and this is what's waiting for you with accent Freedom now I want to clarify though accent Freedom whether you get it through my program accent
Freedom or do everything I listed above to find your own accent freedom on your own okay it doesn't matter if you join the program or not okay when you learn all the things I met mentioned above this is what's waiting for you with accent Freedom when you are free because you're able to speak English clearly confidently and authentically the program is there if you want the shortcut so with that said thank you so much for watching we do hope to welcome many new students to our program and again you uh have 30 days right to
find to decide if it's really for you but we hope you love it we hope you stay with us and then you'll be there and it will be yours and you'll be able to join future rounds if you want or review the material when you want but it's very exciting it happens in real time it's not like a you join and then you do it all on your own and you skip around we we talked about this right it's structured it happens in real time there's a start date there's an end date there are you
know lessons to look forward to oh I almost forgot I actually have to show you inside the course okay let's go do that um oh here my video is going to cover this okay so this is inside the accent Freedom course and we'll just scroll through some I'll scroll through kind of quickly just so you can see like I guess the amount of lessons and stuff everything is very very organized and then every week you get a start here week one checklist and this tells you everything that you need to do for the week because
it can be overwhelming like watch the content do this homework do that homework do this so I it here right at the beginning so you know like this is what we're focusing on this week then I have in week one um welcome video with course objectives structure tips for Success that are very important how to reach your pronunciation accent and speaking goals how to get the feedback you want and need studying with your peers then here we do the intro to all the sounds then we do all sounds listening practice and we have something called
the 10 song project that we do throughout the course as an extra project and then then there's a group feedback replay let me explain this really fast so when I ran this program for the first time and this is what I do with all of my programs when I create a new program um I go through it with the students week by week very closely I look at all of the homework I'm looking to see what students are doing well what mistakes they're making because then at the end of the week I do a feedback
video that's usually an hour in this case it was much longer and I talk about the material and I take all of the learning that they did a lot deeper okay but I only make the feedback video once and it's during the first round of the course cuz that's usually when we have the most amount of students and also everything is so new and my head is really in the in the course because I just made it right so I have a lot to say about everything um and then there's another video that is the
first round of this course we also did um Zoom sessions every single week and so you'll get that it's located somewhere else you get access to it but um those Zoom sessions also have lots of good information but like I said everything is pre-recorded and there's so much here you do not need live sessions with me trust me you do not but I'm always available if you have questions like you just pop them in the Facebook group you can tag me um so don't feel like I'm not available I'm available but what you're going to
find is that I answer all of your questions already here because I already know what you're going to ask and I already teach it so you my friend my little grasshopper you just have to be patient and you have to watch the material and you'll see trust me okay then we have the path to success we have lots of training here here's where we get into advanced sounds um the 10 T's I have a lesson all about the t's because they're so confusing um then we get into Rhythm and Clarity here what makes people unclear
the Ed ending just in case you know some students don't know about that we go through that then we have the Schwan and long words we have some other things here Rhythm and clarity okay this this is where we get I don't want to say really serious because everything up until here is really good you just have to see it but here we talk about how to speak English with natural Rhythm okay then what words you should stress same spelling different pronunciation phrasal verbs and Rhythm and what happens there Rhythm practice etc etc um then
we have a long feedback video here as well then we have intro to Connected speech by the way I don't think I said this before the way that I structured this program um is first you learn sounds then you learn how to join them into words then you learn how to join words into sentences and then you learn how to apply intonation and all of that and then at the very end is when you learn like all the good speaking habits and presentation skills and like confident stuff because we start with the smallest units the
sounds and then we link them and we build that's what I mean when I say you can't just jump to week five like oh I want to learn fast speech I want to learn um you know Common reductions and stuff it's like wait before you can even learn common reductions we have to make sure that your sounds are accurate also um you know how I said in the beginning like here's where I teach um where is it intro to all the sounds it's a 26 minute video where I go boom boom boom boom here's everything
and here's what you need to know but I realize that a lot of students need more training in that so then they have you will also get a uh access to the sound bank I'll show you this in a second too but this is all the sounds okay so you can go in depth um and you get access to the bonuses instantly the course you have to wait for it to drip out but the bonuses you can start going through as soon as you join the course okay where were we [Music] um okay then we
go into finding flow so we're talking about intonation um higher intonation and daily communication and what that communicates lower intonation and daily communication what that communicates how to make intonation feel natural so it's like you learn all the things and then in the homework you get to practice um and then designing your voice so we have pronunciation and accent choices finding your optimal pitch supporting your voice so like all the things we talked about before and then I do a lot of accent analysis of different non-native speakers so you can see what I like about
their accent or um you know little habits that they have and just different things like that uh then we get into designing your voice and then stealing the spotlight there are some imitation projects there are like three big imitation projects in this course as well that are a lot of fun um that you get to record yourself uh performing doing them we we talked about how English is not a performance and then I'm like well you're going to perform it's for practice it's for practice it's not real life okay um so here's where we talk
a lot about The Confident engaging speaker public speaking and presentations thought groups and the power of pausing then we have a speech project here you have a final project here so the FI a couple of the final weeks are not very content heavy you get most of the content in the first two-thirds of the course um and then later we're actually practicing a lot and I I didn't want to take up your time all of your time in the week uh with training I wanted you to really focus on some projects so that's the course
that's inside and then as far as like what the inside of these like what the videos look like I guess I could show you this one here okay so here you can see um this is what a lot of the training looks like you'll see me in a video here and then I'm often on top of a presentation and then I have it here so that's often how the training looks if you're like well how does the training look and here you can download the presentation slides and stuff like that so um pretty easy because
you just watch the video and oh my goodness my recording software because I hit 2 hours it literally just stopped my video and was like are you still there and I'm like yes I'm still here continue recording please okay um so this V this course this is the course has a lot a lot going on in here um and then there are the bonuses okay and then over here this is the sound bank so this is the other complete course but this is the course where you get to jump around and um look at things
so here I'll show you what this is like in the inside I show you all the sounds I show you all the sounds we go through it in a video presentation and then I show you how to make the sound and then you can download the presentation that I go over everything is written in the IPA and then also um my version of the IPA just to make things a little easier for the students and then at the beginning we have two master classes here um that I did I think last year that were really
good and intense because I'm like I really want the students that are in this course to understand not just how to use it but I wanted to go a lot deeper into everything so this one is 124 minutes basically each one of these master classes is like two hours so this one is study charts and Q&A All 48 American sounds and how to master them again based on my accent and then Master Class CL study material and Q&A this is the advanced sounds and drilling exercises so I'll just jump into this one let's see okay
so yeah here I am video presentation and I'm talking about this chart and I'm going through everything and there's lots of charts and you can print this stuff too I have I have my outline here and then the material here that you can print okay so basically it's like everything that you need in all the courses but boiled down so everything is easy to find and when I say everything you need I mean everything I don't think you're going to have to go looking outside of this course to get the information that you need because
I made it so complete I literally asked myself what are what do students need to know and what am I going to teach them I want to teach you everything that I think you need to know to really get it and understand it and master it but I didn't go so deep that you'd feel like why am I doing this I'm not trying to become a linguist okay I didn't want to go that deep because again you're not trying to become a linguist you are trying to speak English just be an English speaker okay so
I think my friends that is it now I can say thank you for watching thank you for watching it was an absolute pleasure making this class for you actually it was a lot of work first it was a lot of work then it was an absolute pleasure once I was able to start recording and it finally flowed because remember it didn't flow at first um so so the lesson here is sometimes things don't flow right but we don't give up and then we succeed all right so that is it and I can't wait to see
many of you in the program with us
