for anybody out there who thinks maybe behind closed doors Donald Trump is a good negotiator maybe him bumbling around in public is just the media coloring what he does and in reality he knows what he's doing and he has the upper hand for those people listen to this clip from Trump's Middle East envoy Steve Witoff during his interview with Tucker Carlson to see just how easy it is to dupe Donald Trump in the second visit that I had it all it got personal the president um President Putin had commissioned a beautiful uh portrait of the
of President Trump from the leading Russian artist and actually gave it to me and asked me to take it home to President Trump which I brought home and delivered to him it's been reported in the paper but it was such a gracious um moment and told me a story uh Tucker about how when the president was shot he went to his local church and met with his priest and prayed for the president not because he was the president of thei he could be become the president of the United States but because he had a friendship
with him and he was praying for his friend it was I mean can you imagine sitting there and listening to these kind of conversations and I came home and delivered that message to uh our president and delivered the painting and he was he was clearly uh uh touched by it so this is the kind of connection that we've been able to reestablish through by the way a simple word called communication so I just want to be clear vladimir Putin commissions a portrait of Donald Trump's favorite thing Trump's own face and asks Wickoff to bring it
to Trump and that's why in part this administration loves the Kremlin i mean I'm sorry but I would have a more difficult time fooling a 9-year-old than Putin has pulling the wool over Donald Trump's eyes all this guy had to do was give Trump a portrait of himself that's what it took to win over the art of the deal guy these are America's negotiators guys i'm sorry but if these are the people negotiating against Putin and Xi and Erdogan and Kim Jong-un we're but the reality is that the world's autocrats understand how easy it is
to win over Trump they understand that he is a narcissist and that all they have to do is offer some shallow flattery and he melts like putty in their hands when you hear about love letters between Kim Jong-un and Trump when you hear about this special relationship between Putin and Trump when you hear about how China's President Xi is right out of central casting the reason that Donald Trump defends these people is because they are nice to him not because they care about him not because they care about America but because they know how easy
it is to win him over so that they can get what they need for their own countries again this isn't out of love for the United States it's out of love for their own countries trump being too narcissistic to see beyond his own shadow is not to our advantage it's to theirs it is why Putin now faces the most weakened NATO in history it's why she now has the easiest path to overtake Taiwan if he wants it it's why North Korea has the most leeway to ramp up their nuclear capabilities because they own Trump they
give him little pets and in turn Trump lets them do what they want it couldn't be more obvious that they were gaming our president if they literally came out and said it and ironically enough the only person not in on it is the guy who takes credit for writing the book The Art of the Deal in fact the leaders who have enough self-respect not to gravel to Donald Trump are the ones that he despises most that's why we saw this horrific display in the Oval Office in 2019 i signed with him the deal i signed
with him macron and Merkel we signed ceasefire ceasefire all of them told me that he will never go we signed him with gas contract gas contract yes but after that he broken this ceasefire what kind of diplomacy JD you are speaking about i'm talking about the kind of diplomacy that's going to end the destruction of your country yes but if you Mr president Mr president with respect I think it's disrespectful for you to come into the Oval Office and try to litigate this in front of the American media let's start from the beginning first of
all during the war everybody has problems even you but you have nice ocean and don't feel now but you will feel it in the future don't tell us what we're going to feel we're trying to solve a problem don't tell us what we're going to feel i'm not telling you because you're in no position to dictate that remember this you're in no position to dictate what we're going to feel in other words because Zilinsky wasn't willing to sacrifice his dignity to show feelalty to Trump the way these autocrats do the way that they're smart enough
to understand how to do Trump attacks i asked Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vinman why Linsky didn't just do the thing that the world's autocrats understand that they should do by cozying up to our thin-kinned president here's what he had to say that there is a school of thought that given the extent to which other world leaders kind of know how to manipulate Trump that all you have to do is kill him with kindness that you have to stroke his ego that's how he operates that folks are saying well why not just just go in say what
you need to say to Trump bring some bring some create some medal some civilian honor uh the the first ever from Ukraine and and and heap it on to Donald Trump as some as some big prestigious thing and just kind of like win him over win him over that way why do you think that knowing how he operates um that that tack wasn't taken that it was important to stand his ground stand on business and defend objective reality about about this war about Russia and so on that is an awesome question that really what it
comes down to is recent history not the deep history of all the mistakes that we've made along the way i mean remember the subtitle is how the the West deceives it deceived itself about Russia and betrayed Ukraine we continue to do that but within just the recent history within the Trump administration in its five weeks it seems like five years what we have is Trump saying that Putin is not a dictator that Putin uh wants peace earnestly saying that Zalinski is the dictator saying that Ukraine caused the war and then the beginning of this this
last week on Monday in one of the most disgusting only to be surmounted at on Friday by that Oval Office spectacle what happened on Monday was a vote in the United Nations in which the US sided with Russia sided with North Korea against our allies and uh refused to condemn Russia as an aggressor now some people might say well you know Trump is trying the same technique that works with him that he wants to flatter Putin into uh you know into getting a deal that is not going to happen putin is a master manipulator he's
a KGB case officer he knows that he could pull this with Trump and get get what he wants but Putin is not going to compromise and give up uh things that are important to him what's important to him is subduing Ukraine folding Ukraine back into Russia because he has this empire building project so for Zillinsky to go in there and let slide on the heels of showing him pictures of sold his PS being abused of talking about 20,000 children being kidnapped and brainwashed that that are now in Russia to allow that to slide is not
just the typical flattery that you know other folks do do that would be weakness that would be weakness to his own people that are fighting his own troops on the front line that need to see a a firm resolved courageous leader that would be weakness to Putin that would inspire uh the belief that Russia could win this war and this wasn't just about the Oval Office about the president this was the whole world watching and frankly seeing a nightmare situation unfold and Zalinsky you know some people might criticize him for not flattering getting the deal
the deal was important but it wasn't that important because the trend line was that uh Putin or that Trump was going to cater to Putin and that you know he was going to go back and take this and say "Look see I could get uh the Ukrainians to compromise without getting the Russians to compromise." So it was it was not the right answer the right answer was Zalinsky holding his ground and frankly in somehow uh having both Trump and Vance look like bullies and weak at the same time but the point worth conveying here is
this donald Trump is a weak man's idea of a strong man he is not a good negotiator he's a terrible one he's why our economy is in the toilet right now because he launched a dumbass trade war that he thought he'd win only to watch other countries fight back and embroil us in this economic catastrophe and if getting made into a fool by our allies wasn't bad enough what's worse is the way in which he's getting rolled by our enemies russia scored the useful idiot of the century in Donald Trump and moments like these between
Steve Witoff and Tucker Carlson only serve to make that even clearer than it's already [Music] been before you go first if you enjoy this content and you want to see more and support independent media please subscribe to this channel the subscribe button will be right here on the screen but second the reality is that we're now in a political environment where this administration can lean on any of the social media platforms to suppress certain voices if they don't like critical coverage that means my longevity here is in the hands of a few tech billionaires who
are already making it clear that they're willing to cater to this White House to that end signing up for my newsletter is a great way for me to be able to reach you directly if that ever becomes necessary i'll put the link on this screen as well so please sign up it's completely free but there's also an option to do a paid subscription if you'd like to support my work i really appreciate it thanks so much for watching
