The Voice of REason: Rich Eisen Reacts to Tiger Woods' Tour Championship Win | 9/24/18
I don't know about you I've got the goosebumps do you have the goosebumps here in that uh honestly I recorded it so I can watch when I got home from the game I thought I was gonna cry on the 18th hole it was amazing and that amazing it was incredible it really is how what he's come back from the four back surgeries he couldn't walk he was bedridden he couldn't play with his kids and now he was second in the FedEx Cup second in the standings he's now unbelievable odds-on favorite to win the Masters next year now in terms of winning again as you pointed out we we have been on the air now next month is our four year anniversary here so we've covered Tiger Woods on this show only as a guy who is done struggling done no struggling Dunham Don we covered him as a guy who is I guess struggling and then done we've had people on here saying that he couldn't get in a car unless his it was fully reclined he got arrested rustic and that's you know one thing I want to hit on here is what he's coming back from and and again I can't believe I do need to set the stage with a whole group of people out there just to remind everybody who he was that Dan Hicks said something you never thought we'd see again and never thought he thought that we would see again in him him being triumphant with his putter in the air and him with his arms up in the air as a winner and then the number that he said 80th career victory 82nd only to Sam Snead 82 which means if he is indeed back and it sure does appear to be that he is indeed back that his actual back is handling the rigors of golf because this year he's played more than he's played in years and he looks terrific while doing it he is going to he has another chance this Tiger 2. 0 to put distance between him and sam snead and set a mark that may never be broken because of the way he used to win all the time so then the fact that he's now back and doing this based on what he has become the Tiger 2. 0 to me might be and he might not win as much as Tiger 1.
0 and you could say maybe Tiger 2. 0 you could make the case was him struggling for a decade sure but I'm gonna just stay in positive and say that that was not at all Tiger so Tiger winning 1. 0 and then there's Tiger 2.
0 when Tiger was winning 1. 0 he was again a cold-blooded assassin the force of nature he but but a cold-blooded assassin whereas all business cut out your heart show it to you pumping and that was it and he was maybe that way with his fellow tour professionals and fans really never really got a chance to know the guy and then when we found out stuff about his personal I like brother who the hell are we been rooting for this guy I mean that shot of him and Rory McIlroy walking up 18 and the gallery just streaming in behind them streaming in behind them and at one point you could see Rory turning to Tiger and basically saying do you see what's going on I mean and how I'm getting goosebumps just talking about it just the fact just that visual of the golf fans surrounding Tiger Woods and him being in the middle of the fandom and feeling comfortable about it is a visual that I think nails down what we're loving about Tiger 2.
