by robbers they stripped him off his clothes beat him and went away leaving him half dead a priest happened to be going down the same road and when he saw the man he passed by on the other side so too a levite when he came to the place and saw him passed by on the other side then a Samaritan came along Samaritans were hated by Jews they were seen as lesser people but when the Samaritan saw the man he felt compassion for him he went to him and bandaged his wounds pouring on oil and wine
then he put the man on his own donkey brought him to an inn and took care of him then Jesus asked which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers the expert in the law replied the one who had mercy on him Jesus paused for a second then he looked him in the eyes and said go and do likewise the parable of the prodigal son there was a man who had two sons the younger one said to his father father give me my share of
the estate so the father divided his property between his two sons not long after that the younger son gathered all he had and set off for a distant country where he squandered his wealth and wild living after a while he spent all the money and he ended up working on the fields where he was feeding pigs he was so hungry that he was ready to eat the food he gave the pigs then he came to his senses I think I just got an idea and decided that he will go back home so he got up
and went back to his father he was very ashamed but the father saw him and was filled with compassion he ran to his son threw his arms around him and kissed him they had a celebratory Feast together and were happy meanwhile the older son was in the field when he came near the house he heard music and dancing so he called one of the servants and asked asked him what was going on the servant said your brother has come and your father has killed the fattened calf to celebrate his return the older brother became angry
and refused to go in so his father went out and pleaded with him but he answered his father look all these years I have been slaving for you and never disobeyed your orders yet you never gave me even a young goat so I could celebrate with my friends but when this son of yours who has squandered your property with prostitutes comes home you kill the fattened calf for him my son the father said you are always with me and everything I have is yours but we have to celebrate and be glad because this brother of
yours was dead and is alive again he was lost and is found this Parable reminds us of the unfathomable love and mercy of our heavenly father who rejoices when the Lost are found and celebrates their return with open arms the parable of the lost sheep once there was a Shepherd who had hundred sheep one day he noticed that one of his sheep was missing leaving the 99 sheep in the Open Country he went after the lost sheep until he found it when he found it he joyfully put it on his shoulders and brought it back
home then he called his friends and neighbors together and said Rejoice with me I have found my lost sheep I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over 99 righteous persons who do not need to repent the parable of the Mustard Seed the Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed which a man took and planted in his field though it is the smallest of all seeds yet when it grows it is the largest of garden plants so that the birds come and
perch in its branches the message of this Parable emphasizes the kingdom of God's Small Beginnings and its eventual expansive growth the parable of the leaven the Kingdom of Heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about 60 lbs of flow until it worked all through the dough the parable of the hidden treasure the Kingdom of Heaven is like treasure hidden in a field when a man found it he hid it again and then in his Joy went and sold all he had and bought that field the parable of the pearl of great
price this one is similar to the previous one the Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls when he found one of Great Value he went away and sold everything he had and bought it both Parables teach that when you recognize the immense value of the Kingdom of Heaven you should be willing to sacrifice everything to attain it the parable of the net the Kingdom of Heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of fish when it was full the fishermen pulled it up on
the shore then they sat down and collected the good fish in baskets but threw the B [Music] away this this is how it will be in the end times the angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous and throw them into the Blazing furnace where there will be weeping and nashing of teeth the parable of the 10 virgins this Parable is about 10 virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom five of them were foolish and five were wise the foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any
oil with them the wise ones however took oil in jars along with their lamps the bridegroom was a long time in coming and they all became drowsy and fell asleep at midnight someone suddenly shouts here is the bridegroom come out and meet him then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps the foolish ones said to the wise wait for us come here give us some of your oil we can't see but then we'll all run out Leah hurry up come here I'm sorry Simone I want to help you but if we don't leave
now we'll all miss the wedding we're not gone these doors try to buy some hurry but while they were on their way to buy the oil the bridegroom arrived The Virgins who were ready went in with him to The Wedding Banquet later the others also came J Judah [Music] who calls your friends your friends do I know you hold up your lamps so I can see your faces well we have no oil our light is gone out if you are my friends why didn't you come when I called come Juda it's time to begin [Music]
I I'm sorry I know you not the parable of the 10 virgins teaches The Importance of Being prepared for the unexpected especially in the context of spiritual Readiness for the return of Jesus Christ The Parables of new cloth and new win skins these are two different but similar parables in these Parables Jesus uses two illustrations to explain how he is fulfilling the Old Testament the first Parable is called New cloth on an old garment Jesus explains that no one sews a patch of new unshrunk cloth on an old garment because the new patch will shrink
and tear away from the old fabric making the tear worse the second one is called new wine in old wine skins Jesus teaches that no one pours new wine into old wine skins because the old skins will burst from the fermentation of the new wine instead new wine must be poured into new wine skins which are more flexible and can expand with the fermenting process the parable of the lampstand no one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed instead they put it on a stand so that
those who come in can see the light for there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought to light the moral of this teaching is to live a life of integrity and honesty since nothing can remain hidden forever the parable of the wise and foolish Builders Matthew 7:24 to7 everyone who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock and the rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat on that
house but it did not fall because it had been founded on the Rock and everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like the foolish man who built his house on the sand and the rain fell and the floods came and the wind blew and beat against the house and it fell and a great fall it was the parable of the sewer Jesus tells a parable about a sewer who went out to sew seeds as he sowed some seeds fell along the the path and were trampled on and the
birds ate them some fell on Rocky ground where they sprang up quickly but withered because they had no moisture some fell among Thorns which grew up with the plants and choked them still others fell on good soil where they grew and produced a crop 160 or 30 times what was sown Jesus explains that the seed represents the message of the kingdom of God and the different types of soil represent different responses to that message the seed on the path represents those who hear the word of God but do not understand it and the evil one
comes and snatches away what was sown in their hearts the seed on Rocky ground represents those who receive the word with joy but have no root so they believe for a while but fall away in times of testing the seed among Thorns represents those who hear the word but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it making it unfruitful the seed on good soil represents those who hear the word understand it and produce a crop a fruitful life of faith and good works the parable of the weeds Jesus tells a parable
about a man who SED good seed in his field while everyone was sleeping his enemy came and SED weeds among the wheat and went away when the wheat sprouted and formed heads the weeds also appeared the owner's servants asked him if they should pull up the weeds but he told them to let both grow together until the Harvest at that time the Harvesters would separate the weeds and burn them Gathering the wheat into his barn Jesus explains that the field represents the world The Good Seed represents the people of the kingdom and the weeds represent
the people of the evil one the enemy who SWS the weeds is the devil and the Harvest represents the End of the Age this Parable teaches about the coexistence of Good and Evil in the world until the final judgment emphasizing God's patience and wisdom and allowing time for people to repent and turn to him before the final separation of the righteous and the Wicked the parable of the homeowner be dressed ready for service and keep your lamps burning like servants waiting for their Master to return from A Wedding Banquet so that when he comes and
knocks they can immediately open the door for him it will be good for those servants whose Master finds them ready even if he comes in the middle of the night or towards Daybreak the parable of the unmerciful servant Jesus tells a parable about a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants one servant owed him a huge amount of money far beyond what he could ever repay the king ordered that the servant and his family be sold to repay the debt the servant fell on his knees and begged for patience promising to pay back
everything the King was filled with compassion forgave the servants debt and released him however this same servant went out and found another servant who owed him a much smaller amount of money he grabbed him and began to choke him demanding immediate payment the second servant also begged for patience but the first servant refused and had him thrown into prison until he could pay the debt other servants witnessed this and reported it to the king the king summoned the first servant and condemned him for his lack of Mercy reinstating his debt and handing him over to
be punished until he could repay Everything Jesus concludes the parable by saying this is how my heavenly father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart the parable of the workers in the vineyard Jesus tells a parable about a landowner who hires workers for his Vineyard at different times during the day early in the morning the landowner hires workers and agrees to pay them a Denarius for the day throughout the day he hires more workers at different intervals promising to pay them what is right at the end of
the day when it's time to pay the workers he starts with those who were hired last and pays them a Denarius when those who were hired first see this they expect to receive more but they also receive a daaras the same amount agreed upon they Grumble against the landowner thinking it's unfair that those who worked fewer hours received the same pay the landowner responds saying he paid them what was agreed upon and questions their Envy because he was generous to everyone Jesus concludes the parable by saying so the last will be first and the first
will be last this Parable teaches about God's generosity and Grace it illustrates that in the kingdom of God all who come to him in faith will receive the same reward of eternal life regardless of when they come to believe the parable of the two sons Jesus tells a parable about a man who had two sons he went to the first and said Son go and work today in the vineyard the son replied I will not but later he changed his mind and went then the father went to the second son and said the same thing
this son answered I will sir but he did not go Jesus then asks his listeners which of the two did what his father wanted they replied the first Jesus said to them truly I tell you the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you for John came to you to show you the way of righteousness and you did not believe him but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did and even after you saw this you did not repent and believe him this Parable teaches about the importance of genuine obedience
to God's will it shows that those who outwardly refuse to follow God initially but later repent and Obey are more pleasing to God than those who merely give lip service to obedience but do not follow through with their actions the parable of the rich man and Lazarus Jesus tells a parable about a rich man who dressed in purple and fine linen living in luxury every day at his gate laid a beggar named Lazarus covered with Soares and longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table even the dogs came and licked lazarus's Source eventually
both the rich man and Lazarus died Lazarus was carried by angels to Abraham's side in heaven the rich man was also buried but found himself in torment he looked up and saw Abraham far away with Lazarus by his side the rich man called out to Abraham asking for mercy and relief from his suffering Abraham replied that there was a great Chasm separating them that could not be crossed the rich man then pleaded for Lazarus to be sent to his father's house to warn his five brothers so they would not also come to this place of
Torment Abraham responded that they had Moses and the prophets to listen to and if they would not hear them then they would not believe even if a man returned from the dead the parable of the tenants Jesus tells a parable about a landowner who planted a Vineyard put a fence around it dug a wine press in it and built a watchtower then he leased it to tenants and went to another country when the Harvest Time approached he sent his servants to the tenants to collect his fruit however the tenants seized his servants beat one killed
another and stoned a third the landowner sent more servants but the tenants treated them in the same way finally the landowner sent his son thinking they would respect him instead the tenant seized his son threw him out of the vineyard and killed him Jesus then asks his listeners what the landowner will do to those tenants when he comes they reply that he will bring those wretches to a wretched end and Lease the vineyard to other tenants who will give him his share of the crop at Harvest Time this Parable shows God's relationship with Israel the
landowner represents God the vineyard is Israel the tenants are the religious leaders of Israel the servants are the prophets and the son is Jesus himself it shows how the religious leaders rejected and ultimately killed God's prophets and his son Jesus the parable of the Wedding Banquet Jesus tells a parable about a king who prepared A Wedding Banquet for his son he sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come but they refused to come then he sent more servants and said tell those who have been invited that
I have prepared my dinner my oxen and fat and cattle have been butchered and everything is ready but they paid no attention and went off one to his field another to his business the rest seized his servants mistreated them and killed them the King was enraged he sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned their City then he said to his servants The Wedding Banquet is ready but those I invited did not deserve to come so go to the street corners and inv invite to the banquet anyone you find so the servants went out
into the streets and gathered all the people they could find the bad as well as the good and the wedding hall was filled with guests but when the king came in to see the guests he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes he asked how did you get in here without wedding clothes friend the man was speechless then the king told the attendants tie him hand and foot and throw him outside into the darkness where there will be weeping and nashing of teeth for many are invited but few are chosen The Man
Without wedding clothes symbolizes someone who tries to enter God's kingdom without genuine repentance and Faith facing judgment as a result the parable of the Fig Tree as soon as its Twigs get tender and its leaves come out you know that summer is near even so when you see all these things you know that it is near right at the door truly I tell you this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened Jesus uses this analogy of the Fig Tree to teach about the signs of the end times and his second
coming the parable of the talents Jesus tell tells a parable about a man who went on a journey and entrusted his wealth to his servants to one servant he gave five talents talents is the equivalent to money to another two talents and to another one Talent each according to their ability the servant with five talents traded and earned five more the servant with two talents traded and earned two more but the servant with one Talent buried his talent in the ground for safekeeping when the master returned he settled accounts with his servants the servant who
received five talents and doubled it to 10 talents was praised and rewarded with more responsibilities similarly the servant who received two talents and doubled it to four talents was praised and rewarded however the servant who buried his one talent and did nothing with it was rebuked the master took the talent from him and gave it to the servant who had 10 talents the unprofitable servant was cast into outer Darkness this Parable shows that God gives each person different gifts resources and opportunities according to their abilities we are called to use these gifts wisely and Faithfully
to to advance God's kingdom and glorify him parable of the sheep and the goats Jesus describes a scene where all nations are gathered before him he separates people as a Shepherd separates sheep from goats the Sheep are representing the righteous and the goats are representing the unrighteous to the sheep on his right Jesus says come you who are blessed by my father take your inheritance the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world for I was hungry and you gave me something to eat I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink
I was a stranger and you invited me in I needed clothes and you clothed me I was sick and you looked after me I was in prison and you came to visit me the righteous are puzzled and ask when they did these things Jesus replies truly I tell you whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine you did for me to the goats on his left Jesus says depart from me you who are cursed into the Eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels parable of the money
lender a certain money lender had two debtors one owed him 500 din and the other 50 when they were unable to pay he forgave them both now which of them will love him more Simon a Pharisee who was hosting Jesus replied I suppose the one who had the bigger debt forgiven you have judged correctly Jesus said then he turned towards a woman and said to Simon do you see this woman I came into your house you did not give me any water for my feet but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them
with her hair you did not give me a kiss but this woman from the time I entered has not stopped kissing my feet you did not put oil on on my head but she has poured perfume on my feet therefore I tell you her many sins have been forgiven the other guests began to say among themselves who is this who even forgives sins Jesus said to the woman your faith has saved you go in peace this Parable contrasts the attitudes of Simon and the sinful woman toward Jesus Simon self-righteous and critical fails to show basic
Hospitality to Jesus in contrast the woman aware of her sinfulness shows great love and gratitude to Jesus recognizing him as the source of forgiveness and salvation parable of the rich fool Jesus tells a parable about a rich man who had a Bountiful Harvest he thought to himself what shall I do I have no place to store my crops then he said this is what I'll do I will tear down my Barns and build bigger ones and there I will store my Surplus grain and I'll say to myself you have plenty of grain laid up for
many years take life easy eat drink and be merry but God said to him you fool this very night your life will be demanded from you then who will get what you have prepared for yourself the parable of the rich fool warns us against greed and materialism parable of the watchful servants and parable of the wise and foolish servants these two Parables have exactly the same message as the parable of the homeowner so I will directly continue with the next one parable of the unfruitful fig tree the title sounds similar to the parable of the
Fig Tree but they are two separate Parables with different messages this one is about a man who planted a fig tree in his Vineyard for 3 years he came looking for fruit on it but found none the man then said to the vineyard keeper behold for 3 years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree without finding any cut it down why does it even use up the ground The Vineyard keeper answered sir leave it alone for one more year until I dig around it and put in fertilizer if it bears fruit next
year fine if not then cut it down this Parable illustrates God's patience and judgment the Fig Tree represents Israel and the owner symbolizes God despite God's expectation of fruitfulness Israel had not produced spiritual fruit as expected parable of the master and servant Jesus tells a parable about a master and his servant he explains that a servant after working in the field or tending the Sheep should not expect to be invited to sit and eat with the master instead the servant is expected to prepare the Master's meal and serve him first the servant does not receive
special thanks for fulfilling these duties as it is simply part of the servants role similarly Jesus teaches that we should see ourselves as unworthy servants who have only done our duty when we fulfill God's commands parable of the friend seeking bread Jesus tells a parable about a man who goes to his friend's house at midnight to ask for three loaves of bread because another friend has arrived and he has nothing to set before him the friend initially refuses to get up and help because the door is already locked and his children are in bed however
because of the man's persistence the friend eventually gets up and gives him as much as he needs this Parable found in the Book of Luke emphasizes the importance of persistence in prayer parable of the place in honor Jesus tells a parable to those who had been invited to a wedding Feast he noticed how they picked the places of honor at the table and he gave them this advice when someone invites you to a wedding Feast do not take the place of honor for a person more distinguished than you may have been invited if so the
host who invited both of you will come and say to you give this person your seat then humiliated you will have to take the least important place but when you are invited take the lowest place so that when your host comes he will say to you friend move up to a better place then you will be honored in the presence of all the other guests for all those who exalt themselves will be humbled and those who humble themselves will be exalted parable about counting the cost Jesus tells a parable about the importance of counting the
cost before undertaking a significant commitment he says suppose one of you wants to build a tower won't you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it for if you lay the foundation and are not able to finish it everyone who sees it will rid ridicule you saying this person began to build and wasn't able to finish or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king won't he first sit down and consider whether he is able with 10,000 men to oppose the one coming
against him with 20,000 parable of the lost coin Jesus tells a parable about a woman who has 10 silver coins and loses one of them she lights a lamp sweeps the house and searches carefully until she finds it when she finds the Lost coin she calls her friends and neighbors together and says Rejoice with me I have found my lost coin in the same way Jesus explains there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents parable of the shrewd manager Jesus tells a parable about a rich man who
had a manager who was accused of wasting his possessions the rich man called the manager to account and told him he would be dismissed from his position you're fir fearing for his future the manager devised a plan he called in each of his master's debtors and reduce the amount they owed by doing this he hoped to win favor with them so that they might provide for him after he lost his job when the rich man heard what the manager had done he commended him for his shrewdness Jesus then commented for the people of this world
are more shrewd in dealing with their own kind than are the people of the light I tell you use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves so that when it is gone you will be welcomed into Eternal dwellings parable of the persistent Widow Jesus tells a parable about a persistent Widow who repeatedly goes to a judge Seeking Justice against her adversary the judge judge initially refuses to help her but because the Widow keeps coming and pleading her case he eventually decides to Grant her justice so that she won't bother him anymore the moral of the
story is that if even an unjust judge can be moved to act by persistent requests how much more will a just and loving God respond to the persistent prayers of his chosen ones parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector Jesus tells a parable about two men who went up to the temple to pray one was a Pharisee a respected religious leader known for his strict adherence to the law and the other was a tax collector a despised profession considered traitorous to the Jewish people the Pharisee confident in his righteousness compared himself favorably to others
including the tax collector he emphasized his fasting and tithing as evidence of his piety in contrast the tax collector feeling unworthy stood at a distance and expressed deep remorse for his sins seeking God's mercy Jesus taught that the tax collector rather than the Pharisee went home Justified before God he concluded with the lesson that those who exalt themselves will be humbled and those who humble themselves will be exalted if you have watched this video so far then I am sure that God will reward you for your true interest in learning his teachings if you want
