Manchester City are currently in the worst form of the entire Guardiola era. 4 defeats in four games...
Video Transcript:
oh man I did not think this would come back to bite them so soon four games it's been four games since Manchester City tasted anything other than defeat in all competitions the first time that's ever happened in pep guardiola's entire managerial career coincidentally it's also been four games since a certain friend of his left Manchester I think pep like many other Premier League followers are mourning the loss of their guy maybe this most recent loss was just a moment of solidarity I don't know in all seriousness this is not good before this run City hadn't
lost all season while I'm not of the opinion that this is indicative of a collapse or a crisis or whatever fear mongering is doing the rounds at the minutes I do think that there are some clear problems at hand that I know are making pep lose hairs on his that I know are keeping him up at night will these problems persist I don't think so but they're worth looking into hello hope you're well welcome back I'm Tasha if you couldn't tell I'm probably going to be bold in a couple years you know it's just in
the genes it is what it is so I can make these jokes all right I'm just trying to bond with my you know future Clan it's been an interesting few weeks for Manchester City so far a player won the ballondor while being a city player for the first time in the club's history earling Holland has continued to bully opposition as his customary 12 goal go in 11 games as of recording this video monstrous activity but at the same time City have been playing nothing but away games lately and pep quola is losing soldiers faster than
Bitcoin is going to the Moon I'm always late to the party you know it's always felt weird for me to make videos about City and them playing badly having bad stretches of games because the truth is the problems that they have are nowhere near as large as the problems that many of their competitors have plus I honestly think that these problems that they're having are temporary a team in second place with 23 points only four points off their Tally from last season at the same stage a season where they went on to win after only
being in first place after 10 out of 38 match days if you know anything about this team it's that even if they're within as much as 10 points come March they're pretty much still the favorites for the title you know it doesn't make sense but it is what it is and of course this season this is Amplified by the fact that Mr Clutch ilai gundan is back happy days so let's look at the most obvious reason for this drop off by City injuries the one that pops out the most is the current holder of the
bondor it doesn't matter how strong your team is as a unit you lose the best player in the world your team will suffer especially if he's the one that's going out and doing the jobs that no one else wants to Oscar Bob Jack greish and Jeremy doku being out have severely limited the team's ability to rotate their wide attack Pep's usual tactic of deploying different wide men depending on the the opposition and depending on the time of any certain game has taken a bit of a hit all the same city are still scoring but you've
got to admit they are a bit one-dimensional right now having said all of that in my eyes the most important of all of these injuries after Roger of course are hands down the injuries of Manuel aangi JN stones and Ruben Diaz you know that saying of lightning never striking twice well it struck three times at Center back where did it strike Tottenham first akanji feels a tight hamstring in the warm-up and withdraws then Diaz picks up a muscular injury and comes off at half time then after the match City he report that Jon Stones picked
up a foot injury and will be ruled out for the next few games why Always Spurs Pep's most used Center back pairing when he plays with four at the back has always been a combination of aangi stones and Diaz for over two years now and I know that man City's overall transfer strategy when it comes to Defenders and players at the back kind of prioritizes versatility players with a varied skill set you know like Nathan a yosco vardal these are players that are comfortable with playing fullback and Center back given the situation but yosco vario
seems like the only player that's perpetually fit and can play center back for these guys a is not 100% and it's clear that the main three guys are the same ones that have been sidelined almost entirely at the same time akanji was on the bench against Brighton which is promising but he didn't play a single minute as man City's defense was obliterated he's also withdrawn from the Swiss national team with an abductor problem bring rogy back into the equation and what you have over here is man City's entire primary defensive unit gone and these absences
have 1,000% been evident in man City's latest performances um or or lack thereof when it comes to their back line teams have ruthlessly been attacking this disorganization but then you look a bit forward and you see that the issues also pertain to the defending from the front teams are just cutting Man City apart conducting successful Counterattack after Counterattack in Seasons gone by we would have seen City snuff out those counters right at the source not so much right now and this is an issue that's been going on since before this injury crisis since the beginning
of the Season City have conceded 13 goals in the Premier League this season more than double that of Liverpool and the most of any top five team along with Chelsea and get this more than Manchester United yes that's um that's correct man united is used as a metric for uh for your team needing to go and do some soul searching this is this is where we are you know this is this is it so let's look at the match that started all of this Manchester City versus Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup the competition with
the least amount of prestige that city were in contention from from the beginning of this season and arguably the one that's affected them the most gundan maati and O'Reilly starting in the Midfield so you know this wasn't the highest of priority matches even still we can learn a lot from this game you know that Lady Luck just isn't on your side at all when Teo Vera scores against you within 5 minutes his only goal of the Season can you believe it this man has played 12 games all season he's missed so many golden opportunities and
this is the one where he scores do you know that this man had a 34g goal season at RV litic before he joined Chelsea I sometimes forget Brennan Johnson flicks it over to Kazi what on Earth is going on for City's defensive line here City spends so much time getting drawn and sucked towards the ball that they can't clock the inevitable switch of play that's on the cards here and pay close attention to the right hand side as we go over these games because it's it's the most recurring problem for them Kazi over to Vera
he has enough time to steady his feet pick his Target and make it happen too the second goal was more of just a great shot disguised by bodies in front of Ortega but I'm sure he's not feeling too chipper about it this year Kyle Walker has looked like a whole new man in a bad way I should be fair and say that Walker isn't 100% % fit and has actually missed a couple of games this season but with so many out of play he has had to lace up but even still put that aside if
we're all being honest we all know it's it's an Open Secret that Kyle Walker hasn't been the best when it comes to positioning himself in the right areas when it comes to defense instead he's relied on what I like to call the ultimate equalizer against Wingers his Pace Vinnie Jr mbappe rashford all of these guys he can match them and go above and usually does so by recovering from a poor starting position well his positioning is still questionable and his recovery has taken a leave of absence um recovery and leave of absence with like opposites
it's like a cool play on words you guys don't care look here against Bournemouth City lose the ball admittedly after a poor carry by a then Bournemouth get on their horse and are three verse one this man is strolling back while Bernard Silva busts a gut to assist this doesn't result in a goal thanks to Edison making a great double save injuries or not City are in big trouble if this persists and they can't plug their holes effectively the first goal came from the right Poland Mis controls a routine out ball and immediately Bourn withth
attack on City's right this time foden is the wall of Defense Milos kkesh gets past him easy and they have no way of dealing with the cut back and eventual goal right as the second half starts where do bornemouth attack a long ball from sessi Kyle Walker sits idly by a seeno cuts inside of him and drives toward the goal luckily Edison comes to the rescue yet again and where does bournemouth's second goal come from I'll let you have a guess again seeno causing all kinds of trouble he combines with Kad Kesh here who has
no problem with Walker as he measures across into the box Evan neelson finishes off with a fabulous move many more times over this game seeno was active with Walker following right behind him each time here he leads a charge that should have resulted in a goal but for Adam Smith skying the ball over an open goal but if he re rewind this play and go back to how possession was lost this time we can put the blame on Bernardo Silva losing the 50/50 in the Midfield another case of failing to stop an attack before it
even happens something that would not have happened if rodri were present in fact a lot of the goals that they've shipped would not have happened if rodry were present sporting was just an all round display of defensive Frailty combined with City getting the harand treatment Victor yish bulldozed his way straight through man City's half after getting a great through ball then he lifted over Edison with ease then the second goal was just a Master Class by sporting the second half had literally just started technically everyone should be in their correct position just by default but
then City's defense just goes ahead and gets completely destroyed by Ruben amarim who clearly already has something against Man City that's my manager right there look at this image right here this is 13 seconds after kickoff and this team is as disjointed as I've seen them in years City's entire press is sucked into the right hand side the options that Pedro gonalves has at his feet are plentiful in the end he made the right choice which um evidently was one of many right's choices carries it into the final third and puts in a very sneaky
ball for arao who hammers at home what even is defense am I right and this would go on to be a horrific H for Man City they shipped three goals two of them were penalties where I guess frustrations took send to Stage as sporting players were brought down in the box and then then finally we have Brighton a team that Liverpool beat twice in a row only one week prior to City facing them don't get me wrong I saw the Premier League match at the very least between Liverpool and Brighton and it was no walk
in the park for Liverpool whatsoever in fact at several times over the match Brighton were the superior Force they put three past Liverpool in total unfortunately for them Liverpool put five past them and then City came around for a visit at the AMX so there's a three-minute compilation of Brighton exposing City's right side of Defense that's doing the rounds on Twitter right now and all of these clips come from the same game city won the first off through a hall and goal but in the second period it all fell apart Brighton subed on Xiao Pedro
Matt O'Reilly and Carlos Bela and all of them had a huge part to play in making City look ordinary they ushered in a change of formation they brought in an extra man in the Midfield and City just ended up hurting themselves in confusion for Brighton's first city left a lot to be decided van heck is about to go over the top first mistake Holland can't be asked to put him under pressure to be fair to Walker he has to follow Xiao Pedro here otherwise if he's the target he's free he wasn't the ball finds MOBA
and this is what it looks like when he has it under control dude's in more space than Matt Damon gets it in the area chaos ensues and it's 1-1 the second goal is probably what's keeping pep up at night they do a ton of give and goes they just cut straight through City's defense like they aren't even there Matt O'Reilly then delivers a great finish on his Premier League debut 4 for four what a time to be alive City are in a terrible place right now now I do think that they will bounce back in
the coming weeks but it's it's not going to be easy for them tohm Hotspur finer Liverpool and then Forest are their next four games all but the Liverpool game are at home so that's a plus but now with an international break you never really know what can happen in terms of player injuries you know what I mean until then let's wait and see how things pan out and there we have it let me know what you guys think about Man City their recent lack of form that's all for me today hope you guys enjoyed hope
you're having a great day cheers and I'll catch you in the next one
