welcome back to the I girl Playbook today we'll be continuing our beloved little series a girl lessons from it girls where we explore the allore of some our favorite iconic EG girls and see what it is that makes them so magnetic by better understanding what makes them so alluring we can be inspired to adopt some of their most attractive qualities and values into our lives so that we can level up as well in today's lesson we'll be taking a look at lwoods and explore how she is able to have this main character Aura to her
if you're unfamiliar with who Elwoods is she is a main character from the movie Legally Blonde initially she is introduced as a fashion forward bubbly Sorority Girl but after her ex-boyfriend breaks up with her to be with someone more quote unquote serious the movie follows her journey of pursuing law and achieving success to prove that she is much more than just a pretty face at Harvard Law School although she is constantly underestimated by her peers she is able to excel academically and even leverage her unique fashion perspectives to win a major case personally what really
draws me into her character is how inspiring her self-belief is she had plenty of encounters where people assumed that she was just another stereotypical blonde her peers and even professors underestimated her assuming that she wouldn't be able to perform well because of her background and fashion and her bubbly personality they saw her as someone who didn't belong in the rigorous world of Law and expected her to struggle and even fail L doesn't let their opinions get to her and ultimately proves them wrong which leads us to the lesson to this video your self-belief is your
most valuable currency even though this is a light-hearted movie I think the bigger idea that you can take away is so empowering you are not limited to what people assume of you you are more than what other people say about you and you can achieve more and you are worth more than what people Define for you we've explored the idea that main characters are main characters because of the hardships and the obstacles they have to overcome I agree with this everyone faces issues in their life and it's about how we overcome these issues that makes
us the main characters of our own stories however let's not forget the possibility that sometimes we can be our own hardship that we have to overcome someone said that we can choose to be our own biggest cheerleader or our own biggest enemy and it really comes down to what we tell ourselves in our head which either leads to us believing in ourselves or us sabotaging ourselves in society we are often told to be realistic which in some cases are true but anyone who has achieved something big wants had a dream or a goal that someone
has ridiculed when you first start working on something that is Meaningful to to you and you have no prior experience or no prior results that say you can achieve that it is that you want literally the only thing that you have is faith to work the hardest that you can and hope for the best when I first started YouTube I've never done anything like this I went to school for accounting and finance which has nothing to do with this creative work none of my friends or family did content creation nothing in my reality told me
that I was going to be successful in this and I could make a career out of it and I didn't tell anyone I was doing YouTube because I was too shy first and I didn't know if I was going to pursue this long term and so I didn't have that support either the only thing that I had was to be optimistic that this could turn out well and that I could potentially carve out a career that I enjoy find meaningful and can potentially help people as well and so I share this story to make this
point when you have nothing in your reality to say that you should believe lean on optimism some may call it delusion some may tell you to be realistic but at the end of the day no one knows how much you are capable of more than you and sometimes you don't even realize how much you are capable of until you give yourself that proper chance but I understand that sometimes it's hard to not let other people's opinion affect you it's definitely easier set than done but I think when you understand that opinions aren't facts you're able
to detach yourself from those opinions a little bit better people will always have opinions of you which they are entitled to that is just the real it of things but their opinions of you also aren't facts just like in the movie everyone thought that Elwoods would be struggling through a law school and thought that she was your typical blonde with a bubbly personality that is probably just an airhead but just like she didn't let that get to her head and stop her from achieving everything that she did you shouldn't let other people's opinion of you
stop you from achieving what it is that you are meant to achieve personally I just choose to not tell people what I'm working on until I feel a little bit more established for example the decision I made to not even tell my family I was doing YouTube until I was close to 100K followers and I didn't even tell them the channel until I got my silver PLA and that was because I knew I'm someone who values the opinions of people who matter to me and that's just something that I cannot help if I care about
you I'm going to care about your opinions but I also didn't want to be in a position where I was just starting YouTube and if I tell my parents for them to tell me that this is silly this is stupid it's too risky or that it's just not a good use of my time and have that discourage me before I even get started so I just chose not to tell them and I think that's the philosophy a lot of people use when keeping their relationships private too right private but not a secret and so with
that said I hope this episode is really able to help encourage you to believe in yourself a little bit more because self-belief is your most valuable currency thank you so so so much for tuning into today's episode I hope to see you in the next one and in the meantime as always stay hot bye
