Wednesday's lesson and today is the day for you to tag me on social media so that I can post three or four of you there, showing the beautiful lesson with the Bible, with the young people's morning meditation. It's really cool to see how our family and our young people are studying and delving deeper into the Word. And I want to spend a little time with you now thinking about the following.
. . let's remember in this week's parable there was a servant who had five talents, another two and another one.
Until yesterday, we analyzed these talents as if they were talents and skills, ok? But today I want to analyze this talent within the context of history itself, because talent was as it were, it was money, it was monetary value. That had a great value there, a talent was worth it.
I even forgot how much more it was worth, but it was worth a lot of money, right? So, each one of them, whoever received five was a lot. Whoever received two was a lot, whoever received one was a lot.
OK? But what was it? It was monetary value.
It was like money. And when we look at this, this, this story, we realize that it is the man who arrived again, now after he returned, he said: Well, let's take a look at whether you managed well the monetary values that I gave it into your hands. Let me see if you were honest in dealing with financial values.
And then he realizes that whoever received five made good investments, was honest and multiplied. Two too. And whoever had earned one, he hadn't even been able to put back monthly interest on the money.
In other words, he lost money. One of the analyzes that we can make of this text is the ability and, at the same time, the call that God makes for us to be honest when it comes to money and values towards him. The one who gives everything to you is God.
You have a job, God gave it to you. But sometimes we are not being honest with God. Ah Pastor, how come I'm not being honest with God?
You know, nowadays there is an extremely low percentage of the new generations that I am saying here. Mainly young people aged 17 to 30 who are faithful tithe payers and faithful offerers. And that means that God gave into your hand a type of treasure, a type of talent, a financial value.
And we are not being faithful to Him. It is as if I were robbing God himself. So there is a call for us to be faithful to the Lord, including in our money, in what He trusts in our hands.
I wanted to extend an invitation to you. You are young. Suddenly you don't have a salary, but you have an allowance.
Suddenly you don't have a salary, but every now and then you do some kind of work, something like that. Hey, manage well what God has placed in your hands, manage it well and do you know what? Faithfully return your tithes and offerings.
It's OK? Until later!
