we're getting the haircut failing is so important one thing is we're trying the last time we did one of these we were at 16 000 subscribers now we're almost at 60 000 so hello to the new faces and welcome to a little video about me [Music] oh hold on [Music] bro huh what did I say about touching my stuff Let Go no let go tell me about yourself my name is Colt Kerwin I'm 23 years old and I'm born on Pi Day I grew up in Upstate New York now I live in New York City
what do you find to be most creatively fulfilling I think it's cool that my skill sets are at a point where I can see what I want in my head and create it into video it definitely wasn't always like that everybody kind of like sucks when they first start but you kind of just work your way up to it and now I feel like I can just build my own world I was really inspired from the movie everything everywhere all at once where it kind of broke the Norms of like what's supposed to be happening
in movies and that movie is literally just like a fever dream so random but it all just like makes sense and it really opened my mind to the concept of World building even if you saw my dream video Oscar the Grouch makes no sense being in there but being able to just create my own world build my own characters that's creatively fulfilling to me has YouTube become a reliable source of income at this point I really wish I'm a little broke boy living in New York City right now city is so sticking expensive but recently
I stopped taking on clients so I'm just gonna be filming for Kelly and with the extra time trying to grow this channel I'm trying to grow a strong Community with you guys and have you guys trust my judgment so that's why I don't take on just like anybody willing to get me money which leads me to today's sponsored video which is myself please subscribe so we can make that YouTube money one day and yeah the city is so expensive my fist hurts bro that bench is hard if you go back in time what would you
change man I wouldn't change anything something about the power I would probably want to have started earlier I feel like the earlier the start the faster you learn and failing is so important growing up my dad always told me that failure is successfully figuring out something that doesn't work so you need to fail in order to succeed all the cliches sayings people always brush them off like uh practice makes perfect blah blah blah but like they're the best advice broken down in the most understandable form yeah next question how did you learn to shoot and
edit I'm a hoe for Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe if you watch this I'm sorry but back when I was a kid and I couldn't afford to buy the Creative Cloud I used to Pirate Premiere Pro and download cracked versions of it for free I pay for it now but back then just making terrible videos that's like the best way to learn and then once I started working for Kelly That's when I'd say my skills started to increase started working for Kelly and other creators and learning from their creative processes and then it kind of
like exponentially grew my skill set so yeah that's how I learned can I get a rainbow Jolly Rancher cone how do you balance work and personal life honestly I still haven't figured that one out yet I feel like I I do work a lot and when I'm not working for others I'm just working on my own YouTube channel and if I'm gonna open up to you guys my relationships with my friends have kind of like gotten affected by it I feel like a little bit I don't know I just moved to the city this place
is expensive and I'm here to grind and my absence has kind of rubbed people the wrong way but I'm just trying to make it work you know I really don't go out ever I don't hang out with anybody so many people ask me to grab coffee I don't even drink coffee but I'm still trying to figure that out I'm trying to get better at work life balance I have to remember that there's no rush you still have so much time 23 got a lifetime to do everything so yeah I'm still trying to figure that one
out show us a little bit of your daily life so on a typical day I stay up FaceTime in kariza at night last night we stayed up to 2 A.M and I need my eight hours so I got up at 10 A.M today because at 11 I'll be filming for Kelly [Music] oh I have a haircut today and after a little pre-production of what we're filming later I left to meet up with stages [Music] gonna cut these locks and we're getting a haircut long-haired boys [Music] all right this is the before we'll announce your chance

let's see foreign and then the wife approves also here at the content closet we always be ordering packages so I got a package today I got these lightsaber spoons from like 2005. you can see this in a upcoming video wow come on what the heck German it's cool can I eat my cereal with it tomorrow no dude this is uh antique my recent purchases are the Star Wars spoon and then I also got this Minecraft torch I just waste my money honestly [Music] why does that look so butter we finished off the work day by
hitting the gym and playing some pickup basketball I've been trying to get better at pickup but I literally suck so much I learned that I suck at basketball but important thing is we're trying getting better every day that was some some comparison games I got crossed up so many times but uh it's time to go home it's 8 30 right now I got some pizza for dinner and finished off the night playing some online food and of course it's not the end of the night until I call kariza cool right where is kariza huh she's
right there how did you meet kariza details please details they want the details we had mutual friends on Instagram and I saw this beautiful girl on someone's story lo and behold it was kariza instantly fell in love like dang this is my dream wifey out here she never posted on her story so I literally waited like two three months before she posted again slid to her DMS that so happened to be the time that she was visiting New York for the first time I actually vlogged the first time meeting her which is kind of weird
but I was doing this like daily Vlog challenge but it's pretty cool on my Instagram we have the first time we ever met recorded and then like six months later I asked her out to be my girlfriend I was crushing she was like not looking for anything and I was like forget that bro stalking pays off yeah boy could you take a picture of us by any chance thank you it's already gone it's like a video here come over here maybe what are you up to what am I up to kariza thank you you're welcome
guys literally everywhere we go he does that one of these days you're never gonna know I don't know you're never gonna know literally everywhere we go keep you on your toes you know keep the relationships spicy how is carusa that short yeah it's just a question of course one second guys work it work it all right my five and ten year goals in five years I think it'd be cool to be married to life of Riza maybe a gold play button get the Millie plaque you know and um maybe a product that like I can
hold that's like my brand that could be like so cool in 10 years I guess have a family of Life Frieza Fu money would be sick and maybe just living my best life that's uh that's all I can ask for nice thanks for saying hey man yeah of course thank you dude I feel like I've always wanted like people to say what's up so yeah nice to meet you if you guys ever see me just say what's up I don't bite this this thing bites what's your vision for your channel I grew up watching the
ogs so I kind of want to just like that's where my inspiration came from so I want to bring back the old school YouTube people just kind of made videos for fun instead of optimizing everything I feel like everything is so like retention and thumbnail title and it's just like I don't know I just want to make fun videos like the good old days I also want to provide value for you guys so I know a little bit about cameras I mean I'm no expert but I think the camera space needs some spice it can
be a little boring sometimes so just kind of provides some value to you and show you what I know and maybe you can learn a thing or two I don't know so don't be surprised if you see some camera content later down the line advice for someone just starting out on YouTube it's pretty cliche advice but I would just say to have fun and be authentic to yourself make the videos that you want to make there's no one right way to make it there's so many people finding success in so many different Avenues and also
don't listen to me take everything that I say and that anybody says with a grain of Soul everybody always has something to say has their own advice but it always comes from their lens and their personal experience but there's really no right way to do anything you just kind of have to be true to yourself just have fun what set up you rocking what setup I'm rocking well behind the camera I have a kariza 9000 this is the latest model I just downloaded the Wes Anderson update so all my compositions be symmetrical handles all your
filmmaking needs everybody needs a crease in your bag over here we have the A7 S3 with a custom decal googly eyes this camera is a beast never trips I I love this thing over here we have the 16 to 35 G Master it is dumb expensive but it literally is the best lens ever on top for audio we got the DJI mics low-key they're very disappointing to me but I guess they get the job done either way but there's a lot of interference in these I don't know if I really recommend but they make a
great audio recorder over here we have the ulanzi tripod this is the Y tripod great bang for your buck and then under the hood we're rocking the Lexar 128 V60 ssds this is these SD cards all right this is the last question what made you start a YouTube channel back in 2015 2016 I was obsessed with Casey neistat Vlogs and it was like a routine every day after high school I would tune in to watch the new uploads it kind of inspired me to start my own channel just making YouTube videos look so fun and
I decided to just why not give it a try and that's when I made my first terrible Vlog my first couple video my first my first videos was up until like last year were really bad actually but watching Casey and making my first couple videos kind of woke up something inside me and I finally found something that I really truly loved which was YouTube it's actually pretty surreal for me like grew up watching creators and now I'm a Creator myself doing YouTube and it's uh it's just like pretty full circle now I'm in New York
City the content closet and uh hopefully we could be a YouTuber this year well that's a little bit about me thank you to everybody that sent in a question if you want to stay up to date on the BTS of these videos please follow my Instagram and with that please like comment and subscribe and I'll see you in the next one [ __ ] foreign foreign
