this special yogurt changed my life and I'm going to show you how to make it this is a yogurt made with specific bacterial strains that are not actually any of the strains found in conventional yogurt that means you cannot buy this stuff in the grocery store these yogurt strains have shown benefits in animal and human studies such as increased skin collagen we all want that thicker hair increased oxytocin increased bone density fat loss reduced inflammation and more this is a yogurt recipe that was developed by a cardiologist named Dr William Davis who has done a
great deal of work looking at holistic ways to heal the gut microbiome he basically worked for many years and felt like he was dealing prescription drugs and procedures and wasn't really taking care of the health of his patients so cheers to Dr Davis for creating This Yogurt I certainly appreciate now before I go any further I will just say that you are introducing bacterial strains into your body and you never know what studies will show in the future however current research seems to show favorable outcomes and we also have had many of these strains in
our bodies for years even in breast milk but many we've started to lose due to the overuse of antibiotics the excessive consumption of ultra processed foods etc etc so if you're still still on board I'll tell you more the specific yogurt is called sibo yogurt because it can treat sibo small intestinal bacterial overgrowth excessive bacteria in the small intestine that's what that is think bloating abdominal pain fatigue food and Tes Etc most other probiotics colonize the large intestine but some of the strains specifically chosen for This Yogurt colonize the small intestine which is where sibo
occurs but I've never had sibo or at least I wasn't formally diagnosed with it so why did I make this yogur it's good for other conditions as well especially those where the gut microbiome has been disrupted as in my case with rosacea I'm not going to bore you with the details of my rosacea but it wasn't ideal to say the least I walked around with a very very bright red face that looked like it had acne all over it I don't have a lot of pictures of me then for obvious reasons but here's one and
this is me now now I did a lot of other things besides just making yogurt so don't get me wrong I do think a healthy lifestyle is very important for keeping clear skin so I eliminated processed foods alcohol added sugar I prioritized sleep finally I ate lots of fermented foods and all of those things have a very important impact on your gut microbiome but I didn't have complete resolution and really felt like I needed to take things to the next level to really overtake what was going on in my gut and repopulate it and that's
when I discovered SEO y so I'm going to teach you how to make SEO yogurt for the first time and I'm also going to teach you how to make subsequent batches oh but wait why not just take a probiotic why are we making yogurt Anyway by making yogurt you are amp simplifying the bacterial counts significantly one of these tablets has 200 million cfus but once you ferment this thing for 36 hours you're going to get about 260 billion cfus these massively greater bacterial counts are much more likely to provide us with the health benefits we're
looking for so let's get to Yogurt making materials I'll have a link to these in the description box below first you're going to need some probiotics of course you're going to need 10 tablets of bioag gastrous this is where you're getting your L reuteri and I'm sorry if I'm butchering these this is not something I say every day two capsules of B coagulants and two capsules of lactobacillus gaser you'll also need 2 tablespoons of Prebiotic fiber inulin or raw potato starch to feed the probiotics and a quart of half and half I'm using organic I
grass-fed half and half cuz that's just how I roll okay here's how you make your first batch it's a great idea to sterilize your glass jars or the yogurt maker you're using I have definitely been lazy about this and I did have a batch that failed so keep that in mind first thing you're going to do is crush your biogaia tablets with a pill crusher if you do not have one of those I do not you can put them in a towel and Hammer them with a hammer or a meat tenderizer now you're just going
to put the crush tablets into a clean Bowl along with the contents of the rest of your probiotic capsules and we're going to add 2 tbspoon of inulin and now I'm going to whisk in some half and half just a little bit to make a slurry to try to get all of these to dissolve this takes a minute good like 10 minutes sometimes so just keep whisking and whisking until this all dissolves oh and by the way the bio Gaia is flavored but you're not going to taste the flavor in the ever so don't worry
about that once everything's dissolved pour in the rest of your half and half and mix and now this just needs to go into your fermenting device whatever you choose to use and needs to be kept at 106° F or 41° c for 36 hours I'm using my instant pot today to make my yogurt but an instant pot is made for conventional yogurt which means it's going to keep your yogurt around 110° F or 43° C which is too hot and it's going to kill the BAC CIA that we're trying to grow today at only 106°
F or 41° C so my workaround is this instead of using the pot to put my milk directly in I put my milk in the jars and then put the jars in there and just by not having that direct contact with this it's able to keep it at the 106° fhe or 41° C temperature now the yogurt is back there and it's going to ferment away for 36 hours no more no less this is because in the last few hours of fermentation there's a large jump in the number of microbes and conversely if you ferment
it longer microbial death occurs so just keep it to 36 hours and another good thing about the lengthy fermentation time is that those that are lactose intolerant can usually handle this yogurt and this is because the prolonged fermentation significantly converts the lactose into lactic acid okay so your first batch of yogurt will likely have significant yogurt and way separation and it's probably going to taste acidic at least that's what mine tasted like don't restart from scratch thinking you've made a mistake I did I thought oh I've done something wrong I'm going to keep buying more
tablets and crushing them all again and doing the whole thing you don't have to do that go ahead and then just take some from your batch to make your next batch and trust me the second batch is going to come out much more cohesive without all of the yogurt and wayy separation and it's going to taste better and then as you continue to make further batches it's going to taste pleasantly sour now to make future batches here's what you do you take 2 tablespoons of your Prebiotic fiber inulin in my case 2 tbspoon of yogurt
from your prior batch and 1 qu of half and half you don't need to reuse the tablets and capsules for future batches and you can make batch after batch after batch and it will still work what I personally do after my first batch of yogurt is I adjust the quantity because if I'm going to wait for 36 hours for this stuff to ferment I don't want to just get a little bit of yogurt so instead of using a quart of half and a half I use a half gallon of organic ultra pasteurized whole milk I
make a slurry with 4 tbspoon of Ulin then I add the rest of the milk and a half cup of yogurt from my prior batch mix it all together and then ferment at 106° F or 41° c for 36 hours and this is how it turns out a few more things shelf life is longer than non-fermented Dairy this can last up to 4 weeks in the refrigerator although I've personally never gone that long so how much should you eat of this yogurt on a daily basis Dr Davis recommends a half a cup daily could more
offer increased benefits it's not known could more be worse also not known I personally eat more than and A2 cup daily much more because I really like it it's nice sour yogurt I like to top it with bananas Frozen wild blueberries and drizzle it with almond butter and what's the duration that you should be eating this yogurt for there's also no established recommendation on that but here's what I would personally say give it at least 3 months every day 3 months is a long time when you're doing something but in the grand scheme of Life
3 months is nothing I would even say go 6 months go to a year go as long as you need till your symptoms clear up plus you're eating tasty yogurt every day so that's how you make sibo yogurt I really hope this yogurt helps you as much as it's helped me check out Dr Davis's website for any further questions I'll have that linked below and on that note remember to eat real food see you next time
