God, Help Me to Follow Your Will, Not the Will of The World | Morning Prayer

before we pray I'd like to share a short message from the Bible and then we'll pray together in this life you may often feel like you are carrying a heavy load there's the weight of responsibilities that come with taking care of your family The NeverEnding demands at work and the societal expectations that constantly pull at you each day can feel like a balancing act trying to meet everyone's expectations and still will hold yourself together but if you take a moment to step back and reflect you might realize that much of this burden comes from trying

to live up to the standards the world has set for you these standards are not only exhausting but often far removed from the peace and rest that God offers he never intended for you to live a life consumed by the pressures of the world his desire is for you to live in his freedom trusting in his purpose and plan for you it's easy to fall into the Trap of following the crowd blending in with what everyone else is doing and imitating the patterns of those who don't know God the pressure to conform is strong because

you might fear rejection or feel like standing out will make you isolated but as a child of God your calling is different God has set you apart for a higher purpose to reflect the love love humility and Obedience of Jesus Christ this calling is not just about outward actions but about living a life that is rooted in God's truth even when it seems to go against the norms and values of the world you are called to be a light in the darkness to live in a way that points others toward the goodness and faithfulness of

God the Bible speaks to this in Romans 12:2 where it says do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind that by testing you may discern what is the will of God what is good and acceptable and perfect this verse reminds you that you are not meant to Simply fit into the world's mold instead God calls you to be transformed by allowing him to change the way you think this transformation doesn't happen overnight it's a process of surrendering your thoughts thoughts desires and plans to him and allowing his

word to guide you as your mind is renewed you begin to see the world through God's eyes you start to understand his will and realize that his ways though different from the worlds lead to peace joy and purpose one of the reasons people conform to the world is fear fear of standing out fear of being ridiculed or criticized sometimes there's even a fear of missing out of thinking that letting go of worldly things will leave you empty but the opposite is true when you separate yourself from the world you don't lose anything of real value

instead you gain the fullness of God's promises His blessings far outweigh anything the world could offer he gives you a peace that surpasses understanding a joy that doesn't depend on circumstances and a purpose that fills your heart with hope and meaning the Bible provides a clear warning in 2 Timothy 3: 1 to5 about the behaviors that will be common in the last days but know this that in the last days perilous times will come for men will be lovers of themselves lovers of money boasters proud blasphemers disobedient to parents unthankful Unholy unloving unforgiving slanderers without

self-control brutal despisers of good traitors headstrong hay lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God having a form of godliness but denying its power and from such people turn away this passage is a mirror inviting you to examine your own heart are there areas where selfishness Pride or in gratitude have taken root have you been caught up in loving material things or seeking Pleasures that pull you away from God the warning about having a form of godliness but denying its power is especially sobering God doesn't want you to Simply go through the motions of religion

he wants your heart fully surrendered to him and transformed by his Spirit if any of these warnings resonate with you don't be discouraged God's grace is always available and his love is patient he doesn't expect you to change on your own instead he invites you to draw near to him and let him work in your life spend time getting to know Jesus personally open your heart to the Holy Spirit who will guide you convict you and help you become more like Christ this transformation begins in your heart and flows into every part of your life

now let us come before God In Prayer Heavenly Father thank you for being so kind so loving and so faithful to me every single day you are The Giver of Life the source of My Hope and the anchor that holds me Steady in the storms of this world you give me a hope that is far greater than anything this world could ever offer and your promises remind me that there is so much more waiting beyond what I can see you have poured out blessings in countless ways through the good health the people I love and

most of all through the love and sacrifice of your son Jesus Christ Lord your goodness is overwhelming and I cannot thank you enough for the ways you continually show your love to me even when I fall short today Lord I come to you to help me not to be shaped by this world it's so easy to let the world around me influence my thoughts my desires and my actions I get caught up in the rush of Life distracted by what others are doing and tempted to seek approval from people instead of from you but Lord

I don't want to live like that I want to live in a way that pleases you and reflects your will I ask for the Holy Spirit to move powerfully within me to awaken my heart to your truth and to guide me in every decision I make transform the way I think Lord and renew my mind so that my perspective is rooted in your word and your wisdom Lord I feel the weight of the pressures around me pressure to fit in to follow Trends and to seek the approval of others the world tells me that success

means blending in that happiness comes from material things and that truth is whatever I want it to be but father I know that true Joy true peace and true purpose come only from you please give me the strength to stand firm when the world tries to pull me away from you help me to resist the urge to compromise my faith or my values just to fit in remind me that you have called me to be different to stand out as the salt that preserves and adds flavor to this world and as the light that shines

brightly in the darkness Lord when I feel weak overwhelmed or unsure fill me with your strength and courage remind me that I am never alone and that you are always with me guiding and supporting me every step of the way father I don't want to live in a way that reflects the Brokenness of this world the ways of this world often lead to pain destruction and separation from you but your way Lord leads to life life that is full abundant and everlasting even if it means facing rejection ridicule or challenges for following you remind me

of the Eternal reward that awaits me in your presence let me cling to the truth that anything I Endure in this life is nothing compared to the joy and Glory of being with you forever strengthen my heart to stay faithful even when it's hard and help me keep my eyes fixed on the hope of Heaven your word reminds me in 1 John 2:15 do not love the world or anything in the world if anyone loves the world love for the father is not in them Lord I ask you to keep my heart free from the

love of this world it's so easy to be drawn to things that look good on the surface but lead me further from you help me to recognize the traps of the enemy and to turn away from anything that could harm my relationship with you guard my thoughts my desires and my actions and help me to live in a way that honors you and pleases your heart God I know that the enemy often disguises sin as something desirable something harmless or even something good but you've given me the wisdom and discernment to see sin for what

it truly is a lie meant to harm me and pull me away from you teach me to reject what is wrong boldly and help me to be a light for those around me May my life expose what is harmful not with judgment or condemnation but with love and grace that points others back to you begin this transformation in my My Own Heart Lord change the way I think so that my thoughts align with yours shift my desires so that I long for the things of your kingdom help me to live in a way that reflects

Jesus in every word action and decision fill my heart with love Lord especially when I am tempted to feel bitterness or anger replace envy and jealousy with gratitude and contentment knowing that every good and perfect gift comes from you break every habit thought pattern and attitude in me that reflects the world's Brokenness and teach me to live in obedience to your word Lord I invite your holy spirit to guide me every day show me your perfect will for my life and help me to walk in it Faithfully even when it's difficult or unclear father I

Surrender everything I have to you my dreams my plans my possessions and my ambitions they all belong to you and I trust you to use them for your glory consecrate me Lord and set me apart for your Kingdom's work May my life shine with your light so brightly that others are drawn to you through me let everything I do bring glory to your name and point others to your amazing love I bring all of this before you Lord with faith in your goodness and confidence in your love I pray this in the name of Jesus
