OpenAI Sora First Impression - 40 Examples | Will This Change Video Forever?

breaking news in New York a flying cat has been spotted soaring gracefully across the skies of Manhattan Witnesses reports okay so I just watched open release their new video models that's going to be Sora uh that took some time right so uh if we can I'm going to try it out today just do a few prompts do a few videos uh there were some interesting features so I just wanted to test out that so yeah I think we're just going to dive right into it so they have the URL sore so don't go to chat

GPT I think I just went to sora.com and I kind of logged in so I want to start uh I have a prompt in mind I wanted to start with so let's try this so I think we're just going to start with super high speed car chase in New York City cinematic uh I'm going to pick 169 and 420 or should we do 720p let's start with 4 20 I'm going to do 10 seconds I see we can't do anything else uh Story Board no we just going to click create video uh so this is

added to Q I don't know how long this is going to take okay yeah so this is kind of here I can edit prompt I can recut remix blend uh we're going to try the loop feature too I think uh but while we wait for that let's uh let me go grab an image because we need to try image to so we can do like image to video we're going to test that out okay so I went ahead I created an image so this is the image we're going to do an input off so I

think I'm going to try to make this into more like a movie scene or something so we have this Viking guy here running away from these wolves so this I think is going to be like the input image we might do that next since we have already tried uh a text prompt so we might do image next uh but while we wait here let's look at a few of the images they kind of have as examples here or not images but videos uh so let's look at this I thought it was pretty funny uh we

don't see the prompt but we can remix this but it was pretty cool right I don't know what happened so this is 20 second video this went all over the place that was pretty funny uh but let's go back uh I think this one was beautiful so this is is a butterfly just flying around so this is a 10c with a mild remix uh but this looks beautiful if you ask me and I think this was pretty cool so this is kind of I think it's like vibrant 8s walking inside probably has to be Tokyo

or something looks awesome you can see if we pause some of the faces are distorted but I was pretty impressed here by the details right if you go back a bit here you can see how this girl how tall is she's like 3 m tall but it looks pretty good and I like the how the camera moves here makes it really realistic right so that was awesome and I saw this this is Mount Fuji I think and this bird in the water here I think just the water animations look so good on Sora I think

it's just amazing so I'm really looking forward to see if this kind of reflects my simple prompts or if you have to do something really Advanced to get it looking like this and I thought this one was pretty cool it's a statue I didn't know that oh that was pretty funny this has to be like high quality or something they look amazing the quality looks insane right look at this quality wow impressive right and I got to say this one was pretty cool too uh it's more of like a a little girl wearing a yellow

coat stares up at a large hairy giant 50 times her size they are in a dark Forest I think this is next level right I have been playing around a lot with video uh but from the examples here it looks Next Level so it's going to be interesting to see what we can produce ourself I see the Q time is crazy long here so will we be able able to produce anything we just have to wait and see but again look at this the colors look so vibrant it's Crystal Clear that is what's most surprising

to me is how clear the image is because of the other video generators I guess Runway is pretty good at this but I feel these picked examples here look stunning at least some of them like we kind of saw with Sora at the beginning of the year I think this was very mindboggling look at this a herd of various animals caught by the wave of a verling tsunami this is wow look at this one so this is a driver's prestic From a Train moving on tracks through Snowy Mountains wow this is really engaging you can

see there are some artifacts somewhere but it's not very much and I just wanted to show you if we look at the tracks here you can see yeah around the corner there that was pretty impressive so if you look at it you can see the continuation of the tracks around the corner here was pretty good so I enjoy that makes it look much real uh more real uh than if we have these artifacts right so this is a grainy D DV footage of a wolf protecting her Cubs in Yellowstone so this kind of reminds me

of like 60s 7 this video and looks awesome pretty cool yeah I I feel I feel the hype is building up I'm looking forward to trying this out look how freaky this is look at the camera Moos ski here oh the camera angle makes me DIY wow again we have this more historical scenery so what is wrong with this that was pretty strange does she come up from the ground or something but again captures my imagination here so this was pretty cool you can see mirror reflecting Sky wonder that is pretty cool I guess what

happens in the mirror is a bit strange but the results looks very good so here we have this closeup uh Cosmic gaze a close-up of an eye of a maku monkey look at the details here it's pretty insane if you ask me I think there was a an i in the first example of Sora so this is scaled up to 720 but look at the details pretty crazy if you ask me and here we can see we have some wind simulation I was trying to see because we can clearly see in the background that the

wind is blowing uh this way so from the left and if I look at this Leaf the W wind should be coming from left here right so that should be pretty accurate so that's pretty interesting and I really enjoyed this one just look at the mood in this so this is a Eerie submarine wreck it just takes me into some kind of yeah how should I say it makes me think of some kind of movie I don't know which one but it's just very aesthetically pleasing I think so I got to say this was pretty

funny this is a 1080p video so this is pom pom creature Festival so I wanted to see yeah I think so I wanted to see when this walks over the fire you can kind of see the fire still continues in the background and spread some light around yeah it clearly us so that's pretty uh impressive so if you stop here you can see even though this creature is kind of covering up the fire we can still see see some light spreading around on the sides anyway so that is pretty impressive so here I think they

must have used some kind of remix or recut because they've changed the angle here after like 5 Seconds they changed the angle but they still kind of keep the same uh a redention of a classic scene from Wizard of O where a long rope ROP likee tornado moves through a field picking up a house it's not really picking up a house but it it's interesting that that you can kind of change the angle here I thought that was pretty cool even though we looked at the many examples I think still this one is kind of

the one I enjoy the most I don't know what is about it I think there's the camera movement that just grabs my attention and the way then the speed he kind of has when he moves this forward it's 20 seconds too and I just like this a lot wow that was crazy at the end here let's stop here who look at her uh it shouldn't really be able to pass through here but still it kind of passes through there's no room for someone to walk here uh I like this one I think this was pretty

cool this has to be my favorite so far so this is a vibrant yeah at this har haruku fashion I don't know what it really means but I really enjoy that one for some reason okay so my video is ready to watch uh but before we do that uh I kind of want to uh how do I make a new video okay so I uploaded this image so let me come up with a prompt here uh movie trailer for a viking movie s Matic Fast Pace fast fast face fast pace action something like that uh

so we're going to do 69 uh I'm not going to do we can do 10 seconds again but I'm not going to do 720 because it took so long with uh the first one so let's just do this and ship this in the queue hopefully service at capacity okay that's a bit annoying uh so I'm going to try a few times but uh while we wait for this okay so let's wait a bit but now let's look at the ones we created so let's go to this one first so this was my prompt super high

speed uh car chase in New York City cinematic uh okay so it's that was very strange okay that was not too good I think I need some practice prompting this uh let's watch the other one uh okay that was a bit better but it's just driving back and forward uh I think the quality is okay um there's a lot of happening in this scene but yeah was not too good uh okay I I think I need some practice with this so I'm going to keep trying to post this one uh to see if we can

do it but it doesn't look too good does it uh but while we wait we can check out recent because uh maybe these were created today I'm not quite sure okay so this looks pretty good I don't know what prompt was but I kind of like like the quality it's 1080p wow that was a big difference look at this quality here crazy so that's 10 seconds 1080p cool okay so let's try this again it doesn't look as we canst any videos now yeah I guess they were kind of expecting that but we can look at

the recent ones because these are pretty new skateboarding Cat Adventure a cat skateboarding in the forest on a rainy day yeah I think that was pretty good I thought this was a bit funny so cartoon software Engineers launching a feature watching sales on their wholesale e-commerce something it's an animated IPO celebration I think this was good because you can see the text here successful launch full the text is not perfect but it's not that bad it is doing something successful IPO and I kind of like the animations in the background here so this was pretty

funny okay so I waited a while let's try again uh yeah it seems impossible now to actually create a video uh but I went ahead I collected some uh some of my favorites I've seen so far so let's take a look at this so I just wanted to start this is a 916 uh I don't think this was so good but uh I like the just wanted to check out this format I think we can do some cool stuff with this and I like this one so this is Socrates stands uploading along with with the

crowd look at the long prompt here it's crazy but I think it turned out pretty good yeah it's pretty nice uh I think this one was pretty good this is 420p but still it looks very good an old man wearing a headset is walking along a river I think this is nice I liked it and we had this one that was pretty funny a wildlife photographer crouches in the savannah with a camouflage com A Mir cat climbs onto the lens so he kind of laughs when he sees him yeah this was a good one I

can't really falter anything here looks pretty good it's a bit strange but pretty good and we have this this was something I haven't seen I don't understand the input here is uh another language but uh I think it looks pretty good it's kind of this video game style and here we have a cat again on a skateboard it's trying to make some speed but it's just walking on top of the skateboard so this is 480p still looks pretty good if you ask me I like the consistency on the ground here and this was kind of

my favorite I think I'm going to make this the intro of the video so I'm going to add some uh 11 Labs voice on top of this and do like a News segment just just to make it funny I think this going to be pretty good because it doesn't look like we are going to be able to generate any more images tonight uh I'm going to try a few more times if not uh we're going to come back to Sora this is just a small preview anyway right it seems impossible for me to generate uh

any videos now uh but let's do uh a few more recent ones that people have generated and then I think we're going to call it for today but we will definitely create more Sora videos going for forward uh because I think this could take a lot of time there's a bunch of people wanting to try this out now right okay so I found this one so this is a a Kendrick Lamar concert so I like how the people are jumping up and down they're like almost synchronous right uh other than that I think it looks

pretty cool I like the screen I like the guy in the middle here that's probably the artist right that was pretty cool uh we have this one so this was a manmade entirely of antique coins works at a corporate desk and it looks pretty funny he's working on a MacBook you can clearly see that and yeah I think this was pretty cool and uh this one was just yeah wholesome a girl knitting a scarf with red yarn sitting at a ski slope challet yeah I think it looks pretty good this is 480p so not high

quality but this one was pretty good this is 720 so this is again like a m MC monkey or something but this is a remix uh but looks stunning looks pretty good and I thought this was pretty funny a monkey playing a strat Caster while sailing on a boat so we get this Birds View kind of this uh GoPro camera look and it's pretty funny I like it one uh and I thought this was pretty funny uh so this is a kangaru taking a selfie or something at Time Square he's a bit still but still

it's looks pretty and then we get this zoom in here I don't know what happened but it's pretty funny uh I thought this one was good too a slot working at the DMV helping a monkey but you can clearly see there are two monkeys so two monkey one monkey working at the DMV and we get Sid is the name here and we have the DMV in the background uh yeah that was funny too and we have this is like a drone shot this is more like b-roll looks pretty good you can see some artifacts at

the end here but other than that yeah I like it and this was very strange so this was a 10c Voyage to the unknown so we can see some people walking on the beach walking sliding on the water and they're I think it was looks pretty interesting but the ships are sailing uh straight onto the beach that's a bit strange strange but again very interesting and this is the final one so this was like a druid shape shifts into a dire bear form so again yeah pretty cool I like this more like this fantasy look

and I think the animation of the the spell here looks pretty good so interesting it's just a shame that I can't make anymore I really wanted to but I don't have uh so much time so this is going to be a bit of a shorter video but I think we looked at some great examples here and there's a bunch of other ones going to pop up but we're going to start creating I'm going to try one more time if not we're going to come back to Sora soon and test it out more no I still

can't generate so uh I think I just have to wait a few days uh because it doesn't look like this is going to happen for me uh but hope you enjoy the video we looked at today and there's going to be a bunch of more content on this coming up but I just wanted to make like my first impression and I got to say my first impression is very good uh my generation was bad but uh yeah maybe I should have spent a bit more time on it but uh uh I really look forward to
