my business is not growing because even after putting efforts in marketing we're not generating leads this is a common conversation i have with so many entrepreneurs today i'm going to break down for you in this video five reasons why marketing may not be working for you it's not about whether marketing works or does not work it's really about are you working in marketing in the right way or not and that's why this video is extremely crucial for you to watch for you to make notes for to reflect and for you to realize what do you
need to change to be able to produce next level of results from your marketing activity i have a great product i have an amazing quality of service our product or service is way better than our competitors but even after we are marketing we are not able to generate enough inquiries for it i think my luck is bad i think i was born in yamagatan takala i think right now i have sarpa dosha and pitru dosha because of which my business is not growing because even after putting efforts in marketing we are not generating leads this
is a common conversation i have with so many entrepreneurs where they believe that even after having a great product great service and putting in efforts in marketing they are not able to generate leads consistently and then they start believing that there's something wrong with their fate luck destiny karma nakshatra gotra whatever you'd like to call it today i'm going to break down for you in this video five reasons why marketing may not be working for you what could be those mistakes or leakages that you may be committing right now in your marketing activity because of
which you're not generating the desired results and slowly you're losing faith in marketing so let's dive into the video and understand what are the five reasons of why marketing could not be working for you make sure you watch this video till the end because you won't just learn the five reasons why marketing may not be working for you because at the end of the video i have a special invitation for you to continue the learning journey and take your business to a whole new level the first reason why marketing may not be working for you
is because in the name of marketing what you are actually doing is advertising and this is where a lot of business owners make a mistake they don't understand the difference between marketing and advertising they think they are the same thing remember this advertising is product or service promotion where you're promoting your products or services now when you're only advertising there is zero engagement with the customer because you're not talking about their needs their desires their problems their pain points you're just talking about your product your service your company your track record your expertise and the
truth is this nobody cares about you and your product what people care about what customers care about is their needs their desires their pain points their problems a lot of businesses do pure advertising they either do social media ads or they attach their company brochure catalog and do email marketing in masses or they send out posters with their products or services list on whatsapp groups or pasted on social media or even if they're creating content or videos they're only selling their product or service through that content or video which is not marketing marketing is value

be the first reason why marketing efforts of your business are failing because you're technically not marketing you're just advertising and pushing your product or service and people are resisting that push that you're putting on your product or service the second reason why marketing may not be working for you and giving you the desired results is because you're relying on outdated methods like cold calling or cold emails or cold door to door walking in now i'm not saying cold calling cold emails and cold door-to-door walking and does not give you leads it does give you leads
and inquiries but let's face it cold calling cold emails and cold door-to-door walking in gives you a very very slow result and it gives you a very very low result today the science of marketing has evolved today customers like to be engaged before they are sold and if you're not engaging and you're using traditional methods where you have a team of telemarketers who are making cold calls and saying hello sir i'm calling from so-and-so company do you have any requirement that's really not the definition of marketing anymore cold calling cold emails cold door-to-door walking in
is a very desperate way of lead generation and not many customers like to engage with organizations and businesses that use these methods think about it how many times do you talk to a telecaller who calls you out of nowhere with a lot of love respect and patience chances are zero percent so think about it if you as a business are engaging in cold calling or cold emails or cold door-to-door walking-ins the results will naturally be low and slow and when the results are low and slow you lose faith in your own business because you start
believing that it's too difficult to get new orders it's too difficult to get new inquiries it's too difficult to get new prospects and that becomes your standard belief system which is not really going to help you in growing your business so stay away from cold calling cold email and cold door-to-door walking in or use them as secondary marketing strategies to support the efforts of primary marketing strategies where you can engage and add value to your customer which brings me to the third reason why marketing may not be working for you and the third reason and
the most common reason why marketing doesn't work for most businesses is because the approach of the business towards marketing is extremely reactive what do i mean by reactive approach to marketing what i mean by reactive approach to marketing is most businesses are actually not being proactive in taking action to go out there and generate leads they're waking up and thinking about marketing and doing marketing only when they realize there's a crisis in marketing then they wake up and say oh i need to do marketing and in this approach of crisis based reactive marketing what ends
up happening is that the marketing effort is very very inconsistent and it's driven by desperation and anything that you do driven by desperation repulses it does not give you the desired result which brings me actually to the fourth point of why marketing doesn't work for so many businesses why marketing fails for so many businesses is because of the impromptu burst of motivation around marketing it's kind of linked to the previous point but i'd like to highlight it separately as to what i mean by impromptu burst of motivation when it comes to marketing and that's why
marketing doesn't work what i've noticed is this in this new day and age where we are all exposed to so much content we are consuming videos we are reading email newsletters we are reading blog articles we are getting forwards of infographic posters with good quality knowledge and information we all understand that content creation as a business is important whether it's b2b or b2c you need to create educative engaging content which will add value to your target customer create that curiosity establish that credibility and generate inquiry for you now while business owners understand that content creation
is powerful most of them don't have a content strategy what they end up doing is impromptu marketing action which means they wake up in the morning with this thought saying yeah i think i need to make a video on this topic and with complete motivation they jump out of their bed freshen up wear the best clothes that they have and start the camera and shoot a video and then they post that video because they are feeling that content in that moment they feel like yes this is it this is what i want to communicate to
my customer this is a solution to my customers core problems now they create this kind of a video content they put it out on the right platforms and then after that nothing happens nothing happens for the next one month and after one month they wake up in another morning with another burst of motivation where they say i think we need to write a blog on this topic and then they write a blog on the topic that they feel on that day is a very very powerful topic and then nothing happens again and then after three
weeks they wake up and say i think i should design a poster with this are you seeing where this is going basically you are creating content only when you are excited about a particular topic you don't really have a proper content strategy where you've broken down who's your customer what are the macro content buckets that they are interested in what are their needs desires problems pain points on which you can create content what are the different ways in which you can represent the same problem solution so that you can have multiple content created around similar
topics you have no content strategy what you're doing is impromptu action and marketing which you are only feeling motivated about in that moment but there's no consistent follow through there's no clear engagement pathway there's no clarity of content strategy it's just some motivation driven activity which happens once in a while ladies and gentlemen marketing is a science marketing needs to be built like a system it cannot run on your impromptu motivation where you feel i feel it today so let me do it today it doesn't work that way it doesn't give you results so that's
the fourth reason why marketing fails in businesses which brings me to the fifth and final reason why marketing could be failing for your business which channel are you marketing on now couple of things you need to keep in mind when you create content to add value to your customers and engage with them and educate them and establish credibility for yourself it's very important that you distribute that content on a platform where your customer is available and is willing to consume that content without even evaluating is my customer on social media or not now look social
media is great i use social media to grow up multiple of my businesses i'm a big fan and i love social media i believe in the power of social media however i have seen a lot of businesses falling into the trap of spending unnecessary time effort energy and money on social media when their customer is not even on social media which is the digital medium my customer is available on and am i putting content on that digital medium or am i just creating generic content and putting it on all platforms because that's definitely not going
to work so firstly you need to know which channel is your customer on a lot of businesses marketing efforts fail because they are promoting on the wrong channel and this is not just about digital channels you also need to ask yourself which offline channels is my customer available on is my customer a member of a networking organization is my customer a resident of a particular residential community or an apartment complex is my customer working in a particular tech park or is my customer visiting in a particular mall or is my customer a member of a
particular business association or industry body is my customer a part of a particular social group or a social club based on where your customer is available online and offline you need to determine which is the right channel for you to do marketing on is your customer participating in a particular industry exhibition or an expo or a trade fair where it is relevant for you to be present you really need to evaluate the right channel because otherwise putting effort in marketing on the wrong channel is like placing the ladder against the wrong wall and climbing at
