there's a nakedness about my playing it has a kind of vulnerability when i stop playing it's as though my whole soul has been chafed why do i play i play because i have to i play because i can't not to it's it's a compulsion it's an affliction it's it's the instrumental mange it's pianistic crabs we have a visceral atovistic relationship when i'm playing i need to inhabit my audience sometimes it's like i want our souls to merge i want our mitochondria to intertwine other times i just want to smack off their stupid ears i practice
