I know you're tired of reading something in English and always struggling with unfamiliar words getting lost in complex sentences and even missing the main contest and message and it feels like reading English is always a challenge now tell me if this gets to personal do you ever feel like when you try to read a book in English you usually understand a few words here and there but you don't understand the main message and there's always some words that you have never seen before for and that makes the reading even harder because if you do I
can actually relate to you because after read more than 30 books in English I found amazing techniques that help me improve my reading and that can help you improve your reading as well overnight so if you watch this video to the end you will learn how to read faster and understand better when you read in English without feeling like you are studying and instead you're going to enjoy yourself more and learn new things in a more enjoyable way way so many of you have this belief that when you see a word that you don't know
you have to stop write it down and then memorize it over time search for the meaning of the word and then try to get the word stuck in your head forever and the main problem with this is that every time you read you have to stop and write the word down and even some cases you just try to forget about the word that you don't know and just try to understand the main message and this will happen to me I always try to understand the main message but when I came across a few words that
I didn't know I just went on and I never really found that effective even though I tried to do it it didn't actually work for me and I don't think it's going to work for you as well in the long term this is not going to be very effective so the first technique that I'm about to share with you will make things way easier and you will never have to try to memorize words again for weeks or even months so reading English can be really tough especially when you don't know every word one way to
make it easier it's called chunk reading so instead of reading word by word you're going to read groups of words together like small chunks so this is going to help you understand the idea not just the words so when you see a word that you don't know you're going to look at all the words around it this are called Contex Clues they can help you understand the meaning of the new word it's like putting pieces of a puzzle together so you can understand the big picture so this exercise alone can be way more effective than
just try to memorize words think about how you going to flow better it's going to be way more natural it's going to improve your attention because this is how we're supposed to read you're not supposed to stop every time we try to read a book you know what I mean you also will enhance your comprehension you will read faster because you're going to train your brain to recognize patterns and phrases quickly so this method is going to naturally make you understand the new words better instead of stopping all the time and try to write it
down and memorize those words look and this method is completely different than just trying to to read a book in English and you know every time you see a word that you don't know you just keep going you know what I mean because you will try to understand the words around that word that you don't know and it's going to be easier to understand and of course I know it's going to be hard in the beginning especially when you're not used to it but I was in exactly same situation when I first tried to implement
this method it was way harder than I thought it would be but after a few days that I was trying every day of course you know it started to get easier and I was actually remembering the words that I didn't know just doing this method it and it was it was crazy because before I was like trying to memorize words every day every day 10 words every day and try to you know Search the meaning of the word and try to memorize it memorize memorize it then once I implement this method it was like magic
like every time I read a page of a book and I did that and usually in a page of a book I would have like five to 10 words that I didn't know and I'm telling you it was way more effective than just try to memorize words you know what I mean like every day 10 words a day it's just like way better and look the thing with books and reading in general is like nobody does that anymore because it's so hard for people to concentrate and read a book you know what I mean like
and when you try to memorize words when you when you're learning English and you try to read a book in English you will be way way slow than a normal person would a native speaker so your attention span has to be way bigger way bigger than a normal person and the reason I'm telling you this is because you got to have patient and you got to do that every day and be consistent to see results otherwise if you want to like read really fast it's not really going to happen so I went to the same
process and you have to do the same so if you are familiar with the method silence shadowing which we use to improve our speaking skills you're going to understand this one pretty fast it's pretty similar to silent shadowing but with different techniques and it's called Shadow reading and this is how it works first you're going to find a Audi book that you can listen to of course but at the same time read as well so that way you can listen to the audio while also folling along reading so what you're going to do you're going
to try to read out loud at the same time as the speaker essentially like you are their shadow this is going to help you learn the correct pronunciation Rhythm and speed of English plus it's going to make reading more fun because it's like you're reading with a friend in a way you might not even notice but you will force yourself to work on new speed because as the person is reading you got to make sure that you falling along otherwise you're just going to be completely lost so you got to make sure that you're falling
along in the book or even if you're not with a physical book even if you are reading a book on your phone pH on a computer doesn't really matter when I started to implement this method it was really helpful because when you try to read in English by yourself you don't really know the the speed you know because you're not a native speaker you're not used to the to the speed of the language you are used to the speed of your language your native language for sure so when you have someone that is native or
that is f you know reading with you in a way you you understand better how to read your words how to connect the words better so you can start following along way better and naturally you're going to pick up the little habits that the person has so that way you're going to have a go-to aim for and you're going to understand exactly how it is to read in English and the speed and everything and that's going to be really powerful so most of the time when you read a page or even more you feel like
you are being productive you are even paying attention or at least trying but once you finish you just realize that you don't remember anything it's almost like your eyes were falling toward wordss but your brain was in another place for many people that have ADHD that is a very common problem I think I have a little bit of that you know I never went to a doctor to make sure but you might have as well so essentially ADHD is when you try to pay attention to something but you can't like you always you know your
mind goes everywhere and you cannot Focus for a long period of time and when you are reading a book but in the end you don't remember anything that can happen with English Learners when you're are not completely fluent and you speak another language like your native language it's harder to get your head around the main message that quick so maybe you even have to read two or three times to understand everything and this is exactly why this method is powerful so reverse summarization is a cool method and trick that helps you understand what you read
so after you finish reading a section you would try to explain that section in your own words like you're telling a story a story only for you so you're going to start to think about the main ideas and the most important details now just stay with me because this is going to be a little bit hard but it's going to be fun then you're going to try to rete the story backwards so you're going to start from the end of the section and moving to the beginning so this is going to make your brain work
harder to understand the text and it helps you remember what you read faster and better and just by knowing that you're going to have to summarize what you read afterwards that's going to make you pay more attention when you read and it's going to make you understand better because if you don't pay attention you're not going to be able to do that afterwards I'm sure you have seen so many of those apps and websites that have summarization of books now imagine if you do that consistently imagine after a few weeks how many summarizations of books
or maybe just one book and just the summarization of each chapter or something after a few weeks you accidentally will have so many notes that you summarize from books or whatever you're reading doesn't have to be a book I'm telling a book because it's the most popular one that let's be honest you probably want the most you want to read a book because you know book is a book now imagine how much content you're going to have from that book and how easy it's going to be for you to understand that book faster and better
because one regret that I've seen so many people have have when they read books is that they read a lot of books but they don't really remember all the content from the book now if you do this with every book that you read it's going to take a little bit of a time but if you want to be full in English you know and when to change your life this is what it takes and you know you got to learn to love the process that's the main message you got to you got to love the
process the journey you know there's no other way so if you do that imagine all the summarizations and it's going to be so easier for you to like understand the book in depth and it's just one of the most important skills that you can have you know because most people they only read books and then they just think that you got to read book after book after book but what I usually see is that people if they had the chance to go back in time they would read 10 books only and try to understand 100%
of every book that they read is way better than just just read 100 books and don't understand 50% of every book and these three methods I did use them and Implement them you know in the beginning of my journey and now I just read a lot of books and I don't need to do that anymore and one day you're not going to have to do that anymore so I really hope you found this valuable I really hope that you implement these methods because like I said every time if you just watch this nothing's going to
change you got to implement his methods you got to try to make them part of routine every day and that way you're going to change that way you're going to be able to read a book that you like and actually learn new things so I really hope you found this valuable and thanks so much for watching bye
