we're going to go over bonus tips how much should you charge equipment the must know editing tip that everyone needs to know if you plan on making ugc content so let's go wow that was a lot what is ugc ugc stands for user generated content so user generated content is content whether photo video text a review anything that was authentically created by an everyday user of that product or brand why do Brands love ugc well there's a few alternatives to ugc that Brands can do they can hire their own video production team social media team
or marketing team to make professional video content and video ads or they can work with influencers to create content and promote their offer brand product ugc kind of acts like the middle ground for them one they get to partner with everyday people who genuinely love their brand two they don't have to hire an entire production team or pay for professional video which in turn could save them a lot of money three unlike with influencers Brands don't have to pay ugc creators to post the content they create the ugc Creator just creates they don't even need
an audience so if we're talking about the difference between an influencer and a ugc Creator typically Brands partner with influencers or content creators because they want to pay them to create content that they will then promote to Their audience in hopes that the brand reaches a new audience or generates some business traffic and sales with ugc creators Brands will pay you to make content that they will then post on their own social channels you don't have to post you just create so if you want to be a full-time content creator who has zero photography or
videography experience this is a great place to start what's the difference between ugc content and like the high quality produced photos and videos while there are some ugc creators who make these amazing high quality content and videos ugc doesn't have have to be high quality a lot of Brands love for it to look like it was created by an everyday person or user often times this casual content comes across as more authentic to a viewer because it doesn't look like the typical overly produced ad you know what I mean all right now that we've gone
through the FAQ section let's go a little bit deeper how can you get started as a ugc Creator first I want to start off by saying that being a ugc Creator isn't just some easy peasy lemon squeezy thing for you to do if you're looking for like a quick and easy way to make a little bit of money with no effort this is not it you will definitely have to put in some practice to perfect your skills creating ugc content there's also pitching to Brands organizing multiple deals when you do get opportunities and it's actual
work so yeah be prepared to put in work step number one study what ugc content looks like and pick an industry before you create anything it's wise to familiarize yourself with other UTC content so you know what's currently performing well and how you can create your own content so what I recommend doing is going to this website right here and see what ads are currently running on Tik Tok a lot of those you'll notice our ugc content what's really cool here is that you can organize by industry to see what content looks like in specific
Industries the reason you want to pick an industry is similar to the same reason that you would want to Niche down as an influencer or content Creator if you're creating ugc content for brands in the travel Niche and your portfolio is all travel related content and you start pitching to brands in the travel industry this is going to be a huge win for you and the brands because they're going to see that you are an expert in their industry they're going to be like dang she knows what she's doing or they know what they're doing
and they're going to have a lot more trust in you because you know what it's like to create ugc content for them and their industry specifically of course if you've never created any sort of ugc content before it's normal to test a bunch of different Industries to see what feels most natural to you step number two now that you have an idea of ugc content and what it looks like build your portfolio walk around your house and find a few products that you love and use every day this can be anything that you're comfortable creating
content with like skincare products clothes shoes blue light glasses your milk that you use in the morning coffee espresso machine book books anything that you use on a daily basis now these aren't necessarily the brands that you're going to be pitching to so don't get scared or intimidated by grabbing these things just focus on creating because you genuinely love that thing or that product or that brand a little bit later in this video we're going to be talking about the different types of ugc videos that you can create for Brands but for right now I'm
just going to talk you through the simple creation process that I would do I'm somebody that's super comfortable showing my face on camera talking to the camera so what I would do is maybe I would grab my favorite protein powder that I use literally every morning with my oatmeal and I'll pull it up talk to the camera and be like oh my gosh y'all I love this maybe I'll show how I make my oatmeal in the morning and that's just like authentic content it's just me showing up on camera talking about how much I love
the blueberry muffin Co Kos C Co I don't know but I love their protein powder maybe look up how to pronounce a brand if you're going to be talking to a camera and yeah it could be as simple as that hyping it up showing that I love it or if you're somebody maybe you're not comfortable showing your face on camera you can make more of like an aesthetic video so if it's like your skin care or maybe it's like green juice or something you can make it more aesthetically pleasing in your kitchen or on a
bookshelf or in your shower and you're just showing different angles of that product being used and maybe have some text overlay that talks about the product with like a hook in the beginning and all the things remember during this creation process you're going to use the inspiration of the ugc content that you had saw before on that Tik Tok ads website so you're pulling inspiration to see what's currently working and then pulling that into your creation process after you've created some content you're going to put that content into a portfolio either on your website or
in a Media Kit if you don't have a website what you're going to do is go to canva literally search ugc portfolio and there's a bunch of free templates that you could use this one is my personal favorite and and it is on the free version of canva maybe while you were creating that aesthetic video ugc content you were also taking pictures of that product so you could upload pictures to your Media Kit you could hyperlink to videos that you created in your Media Kit what I recommend is making sure everything is well lit with
natural lighting and again when you stay within your industry and you have a Media Kit that looks like it's in the same industry that makes your Media Kit just come across a lot more clean clear and professional step number three prepare your pitch you can send your pitch to Brands via DM but if you could find an email contact of like the direct person you want to be reaching out to that's bonus points so in your email what you're going to say is something like this hi brand as you can tell from this video hyperlink

don't see anything that you recognize so that's OB but next what you're going to do is make a video of yourself talking about the product using it hyping up the brand the usual ugc type stuff and then you're going to pitch to The Brand using the template that we just talked about so at the beginning of the template it was like as you could tell in this video hyperlink that's the video that you just created you grabbed a product you're like oh my gosh I love it and then upload it to Google Drive or something
hyperlink it in your pitch and show them like this is the type of ugc content I create I got you step number five ugc platforms or even other places to find ugc jobs maybe that's not the way that you want to go about pitching to Brands maybe you want to apply to jobs that are already existing option number one utilize social media you could go to Twitter right now search ugc creators needed and a bunch of brands are literally job posting saying hey we're looking for ugc creators to make us content apply here easy peasy
you could do that same thing in LinkedIn so go to LinkedIn search ugc creators switch the search filter to posts instead of like people and it'll have a bunch of information for you or even ugc creators needed and again you'll find a lot of information that's helpful there there are also some platforms that you could go to to apply for ugc jobs like Trend iio tribe b-roll creators. jobs Coles creators Club Billow and incense there's even influencer platforms as well where you could apply for influencer jobs sometimes they'll have ugc jobs listed like Aspire IQ
# paid OCT collaborate here's a list and then of course you have other websites like Fiverr and upwork Brands will list that they're looking for ugc content on those websites because right now ugc is so new they're kind of trying anywhere and everywhere to put those job listings so it's as simple as that so when you follow those five steps you'll likely start getting some ugc work now for phase three of this video some Advanced bonus tips for all of you let's talk about the different types of ugc content and videos that you could create
under one product so let's say let's go back to the protein powder example that I was talking about you can actually make at least five different types of videos for that brand for that one product video One aesthetic or product focused video this is just the product itself getting some b-roll of the product highlighting the product you don't have to show your face or anything other than that this could be to music or text popping up I I like to incorporate elements of the product itself so if it's a blueberry muffin protein powder if I
could show actual blueberries in it that would be awesome or if it's like a green juice from suja and it talks about lemon green apple cucumber it would be so cool to show actual lemons and like get the shot of like the juice squeezing you know what I mean so incorporating other elements into that that are related to the product that would be your aesthetic focused video video two our unboxing so you could just simply do an unboxing video unboxing that product video three is a voiceover video there's really no rules with the voice over
you can talk about anything everything storytelling hooks how to use the product all the things there's no rules but again you're focusing on the product using your voiceover to talk through something number four is a review or demonstration of that product so this would be talking head your review of the product how much you love it why you love it demonstrating how to use that product kind of showing a more howto style is really helpful as well and of course we have number five problem and solution so up front you talk about the problem that
somebody might have maybe the problem is you're trying to get your protein in but protein powder tastes disgusting so the solution is it's super easy to make a really yummy breakfast with the blueberry muffin protein powder and it doesn't taste like protein powder so what's the problem that product is solving and start with the problem that's your hook talk through the solution in that video let's talk about how much you should charge for your ugc videos rates are going to change depending on a bunch of different things your skills experience how many videos you're creating
for the brand usage rights etc etc so for this video I'm just going to give you a few starting rates and a few resources if you want to go a little bit deeper beyond the starting rate first thing you're going to do is ask the brand how they intend to use your video is it going to be used organically on their socials or will they be wanting to run ad spend behind it for organic videos that are simply just going to social channels you can start at around $150 per video for people who are just
getting started into ugc now for ads videos I would start that around $275 this is for a few reasons but really with your ads videos you'll be spending a lot more time researching other ads in their Niche to make sure that your ad will perform well for the brand as well plus you're basically the entire production team for them they don't have to spend money on a billboard or a magazine posting you're creating content for them for them to run ad spend to so they definitely have a budget for a little higher ticket item so
those are just starting rates however what I recommend doing is push package deals so if a brand is interested in working with you you can have package options so for package one one organic video $200 package two three organic videos for $500 or package three five videos of organic videos for $700 so the more videos they get the better deal they get but also the more you get paid there's more that goes into setting your rates and different reasons you could charge more like if you're going to provide them the raw footage if other people
are going to be in the video with you if you're going to create multiple hook options for them to use on one video exporting the video into multiple dimensions and list goes on so if you want to dive deeper into pricing and how to price your videos accurately I definitely recommend checking out at ugc Social on Tik Tok and I'll also link a few other creators as well that I think have really good resources for how to price your ugc content so they will be listed in the description let's talk about equipment that you need
really all you need is your phone you could create with just your phone if you want to do this fulltime or you're like serious you're like I want to do this all the time this is how I want to make my fulltime live in then what I would recommend is a tripod good lighting and a microphone so that audio is super crisp tripods definitely help if you're going to be in the ugc content because you could set up your phone film without anybody having to record you lighting is important as well because as we all
know good lighting is key for any sort of content this can be natural light shooting by a window or if you're living somewhere where there is not a lot of good natural light investing into lighting equipment I have my Amazon storefront has lighting that I use for my videos so you can check that out and then microphones there's so many cool adaptions is that it's called adap adaptions thingies that you could put on your phone like microphones on from Amazon you just like put it in your phone it's a little microphone and it like makes
your audio super crisp and yeah it you don't you don't need a super fancy shancy microphone just one from Amazon again I'll link what I use this is one that I use there's also this one that's really good so those would be really good options for getting crisp audio if you're doing voiceovers especially now the secret editing tip that I'm going to leave you with is to make sure that your video content especially if they're going to be used as ads can run in multiple Dimensions specifically fitting the 4x5 crop so you have like this
Dimension here 9 by6 this is what we see on Tik Tok Instagram reals YouTube shorts that's great that's fine we love it but when you're editing your video it's important one to use text we know that but making sure your text is going to fit in this little 4x5 crop why is this important because when you're running ads to a video sometimes those ads will appear in a 4x5 crop so if your text is placed outside of that 4x5 crop it's going to not have the ad run or perform very well because things are getting
