do you know that Warren Buffett reads over 500 pages per day he often says this is one of the keys to his success which at last count was over $139 billion I've often dreamed of a more efficient way to process information and this is where notebook LM comes in this tool has me very excited and it allows you to do everything Warren describes including engaging deeply with massive amounts of information gaining Knowledge from that information that allows you to make better decisions and stay ahead of the competition by the end of this video video you'll
be able to simulate Warren Buffett's ability to read and comprehend over 500 pages in a matter of minutes so whether you're an entrepreneur looking for that next breakthrough Innovation or you're an expert just simply trying to stay at the Forefront of your field or maybe you're just trying to plan that next epic family vacation notebook LM will allow you to process so much information it's going to make your head spin jumping into today's agenda here's what we're going to go through today notebook LM demo I'm going to show you all about how to use this
tool some basic features as well as some Advanced tips tricks hacks then I'm going to get into Gathering resources cuz the hardest part about using notebook LM is finding a bunch of good material to drop in there I'm going to go through a bunch of use cases and then look at tons of different research prompts for Gathering your Source material but first I want to jump in a little bit deeper to how notebook LM follows Warren Buffett's knowledge acquisition habits really like a glove obviously he's a varation ious reader this helps him make informed decisions
that in turn help him stay ahead in the marketplace and one thing that he stresses is this active engagement so by active engagement he means really thinking and processing the information not just skimming it but this is one of the major things that notebook LM can help with a quick intro to notebook LM this is a knowledge management system that Google has been working on for the past couple years and it allows you to organize large volumes of information and draw connections between the different pieces of information this allows you to identify Trends and do
so many things as we're going to get into here in a second here's what notebook LM looks like if you go to notebook lm. gooogle there are a couple little tricks to accessing it you need to make sure you have a Google account some sort of Gmail account that you access it with and that your admin has allowed that I have a link in the cheat sheet to walk you through exactly how to do that here's a knowledge base that I've been having a ton of fun with and really gleaning some really interesting insights this
is a digital marketing trends for 2024 knowledgebase that I collected in just a few minutes I'm going to show you exactly how I did that these are all of the sources so over here is where all of your sources live you can add new sources right here you can put in a web page URL you can copy text in you can use a text file a PDF or connect it to the Google Drive I've had a little trouble connecting it to the Google Drive so if you're having having that same issue it's not your fault
once you've loaded all your information in you're ready to start interacting with it and there's a really cool feature that took me a minute to figure out this little notebook guide by clicking on that notebook guide you can create a briefing document a timeline a table of contents a study guide or an FAQ based on all the information you can you put in here and I should note that you can put in a ton of information you can put in up to 50 sources each containing up to 500,000 words so those are massive massive books
if you don't have any idea how many words are in a book typically most books are 120,000 words or so so basically enough quite a lot of information can be fit in here and what's more exciting is that this tool can actually access all of that information very easily so I've gone ahead and created two different notes here from that uh notebook guide one is the briefing document and one is a table of contents to just get my mind wrapped around all of these 2020 for Trends reports for digital marketing and I have found this
very interesting just by clicking on this note it goes into a summary of what has been mentioned in all of these reports starting with this social media and digital marketing Trends and getting into actionable insights for businesses and ai's impact on customer support Etc so a really good you know executive summary of many many thousands and thousands of words here these are long documents these are not all really short these are very robust Trend reports that I gathered I've also created a table of contents which is very helpful to see you know what else is
going on in here and these two notes are very helpful just getting your mind wrapped around what's going on in here so you can dive deeper using the chat let me show you how that works one of the things that I found really interesting right off the bat is Facebook usage is declining so I wanted to dive a little deeper into that and let me show you how I did that so I just entered can you find stats and Facebook usage declining right into the chat down here and it pulled all of this great information
directly from these sources with links and citations so if you want to learn more about that you click this and it pulls you right into that Source where that's coming from so you can make sure you get the context of what's going on around that as you're doing your research you can then continue to interact with it you can pin this and this pulls this note right here to your your list of notes and there's another feature where you can just start to search through your notes instead of the source material as you start to
build up lots of notes that's getting a little bit Advanced though I think it also does a great job with these uh prompts down here that might be helpful as you're exploring this information another thing you can do is just have it search a couple different sources if you just want to see what do these three sources say about social media or you know what is does just this one Source say about XYZ you can focus your research into very specific sources or you can obviously select all sources here you can share it I believe
similar to a Google doc and there's also this helpful Discord Community if you get stuck with anything that's a I think better than a help section now I want to show you exactly how I pulled in all of this information cuz that's the hard part you really need a lot of information in here to get the most value out of it this tool is really focused on the sources that you give it so on its own it doesn't know all the things that chat GPT for instance knows it doesn't have all of that in its
training data they really wanted to focus this tool on grounding it in your sources which I think is a really good call here because it allows you to control it in a much deeper way so for all of my research I head over to perplexity doai this is a fantastic tool an AI tool for doing online research and I just start throwing in these props here I have a ton of these I'm going to share with you in a second I've created probably eight prompts or more for doing research and this is what I did
what recent studies or articles have greatly impacted the field of digital marketing and it pulled together all of these different uh sources from here I just downloaded these and loaded them straight into my uh sources in Notebook LM you can see a few of these in my history I really only did about three searches in perplexity to find all of the sources that I just went through there's over 10 sources and they are all very long one little tip and hack you might want to look into is a lot of these uh most valuable Trend
reports are PDFs locked behind a opt-in wall obviously you can opt in and grab that or you can just find the name of that report and do a search followed by PDF the letters PDF in the search and that will often find the a pdf version of that report so you don't need to um opt in do a million things as you're doing your research and then you can upload that PDF Direct directly to notebook LM if you're new to the Blazing zebra Channel I want to welcome you and thank you for joining me on
my mission of helping lifelong Learners such as yourself explore these powerful AI models if you're getting something out of these videos please consider supporting me on patreon anyone who supports me on patreon gets immediate access to over 80 cheat sheets one for each video that I've ever created along with a bunch of custom gpts in there including tons and tons of prompts that'll help you get the most out of these powerful AI tools there are so many use cases for this jumping into the cheat sheet that market research that we just went through I think
that's a prime example but there are a ton of other things you can do with this including Innovation and product development loading in patent applications maybe all of Google or open ai's paten applications and seeing what's going on there or looking at different research papers maybe it's AI research papers or other types of research papers to really get a feel of what's Cutting Edge and what the trends are in those areas can really help for spurring innovative ideas travel planning is another one I have a great knowledge base for this let me show you that
real quick this is my knowledge base I have a bunch of friends coming to visit me in Maine and I'm fairly new to this area so I wanted to look up all of the coolest things to do I did those same handful of perplexity searches found a dozen or so great uh resources that I loaded in here I created this briefing dock as well as this guide to key sources and this helped me find all sorts of weird activ ities cool shops and cool restaurants that I can show my friends and family as they come
to visit me this summer back into the cheat sheet here is a major initiative that I'm working on staying informed with notebook LM so Warren Buffett talks a lot about how he reads the Wall Street Journal New York Times all that stuff like every day and I don't have time to do that unfortunately so what I'm going to do is start to upload electronic versions of all of those and once a week open that notebook LM that included all of those different um newspapers and try to figure out what are the trends especially the trends
related to all of the things that I'm doing professionally really excited to try that but that's not all there are a ton of interesting use cases for this academic research and writing legal analysis and case preparation so uploading legal docs and court rulings Etc in there healthc care and medical research uploading all of that in there personal productivity hacks and just personal Knowledge Management I uploaded a bunch of my journal entries and really learned a ton about um all of the thoughts and things that I had been journaling about over the years event planning and
management community building and activism again all of these ideas are in the cheat sheet that's available to my patreon supporters it also contains this notebook LM tips and tricks section with details about notebook structure citations and content exploration surprising connections Etc this is a great prompt right in there what are some of the surprising things from this information so really pulling out the AHA moments from those big pieces of information there is a lot in here that we don't have time to get into there's a couple other things though I realized you can make a
uh transcript in script so if you want to pull sources from YouTube as I want to do I realized you with one link you can add one link into the tool this AI video tool called descript descript will take that link and convert it very nicely into a transcript then you can just drop that transcript right into notebook LM I'm using this to try to keep up with all the different AI videos that come out each week also you can convert Kindle books and upload Kindle books in there here are a few few tools that
might be useful for that caliber I have no idea how you say that idor ultimate and so forth so one other idea I've had is taking all of the best quintessential business books loading them into notebook LM anything that's like core to my industry Ai and other things loading all of those books in there so I have them ready to hand anytime I need to think about anything think through ideas or when I get stuck I'll have all of that there to help guide me the other major part of this cheat sheet is the perplexity
prompts I went to town there are I think 10 pages of perplexity prompts for Gathering your Source material cuz like I said that's where the hardwork is you've got to gather up a few things in order to use this tool so these are just some of the general searches I'll scroll kind of through slow through some of this so you can start to see and get a feel for what are some good prompts to use in perplexity when you're gathering this Source material this is for general research specific research then I've got a whole section
here multiple pages about market research sources here's a bunch of prompts for that Innovation and product development uh use case I was talking about academic research so if you're doing any academic research but these are also very good prompts really for anybody cuz they really get to the core of that Source material this is one of the other things Warren Buffett stressed is that he was always looking for that core source material where did the actual data come from not these blog posts about one what one person said about what another person said about what
another person says he wants to find that actual Source material this academic research uh section of prompts can really help with that there's a ton a ton in here including some additional resources some other uh videos and things I found about how to use this tool and a link to that Discord server which is a great place to go if you get stuck awesome I hope you're excited about notebook LM I sure am thanks a ton for watching if you have any questions just hit me up in the comments if you get stuck or if
you have any ideas with this let me know I really appreciate that otherwise consider joining my patreon where you can get immediate access to this cheat sheet and over 80 other cheat sheets with tons and tons of prompts there's over dozen very useful custom gpts in there there's some coaching options as well so check that out otherwise subscribe if you haven't already smash that like button if you haven't and I will see you on the next video make your dream
