Truth and life a moment of reflection and inspiration for your life a program of the Presbyterian Church of the Brazil Truth and Life with Pastor Hernandes Hello, we are starting another program Truth and Life, a church program Presbyterian of Brazil, created for the glory of God and also to bless you and your whole family; bless with God's word, the preaching of the gospel as it is. In today's program, Pastor Hernandes will share with us a Bible text sacred, one of the metaphors that the word God uses to speak our heart. One of the metaphors that the Bible uses is to say that our life is as it were a house, and Pastor Hernandes will share with us then the message: "The house on the rock".
I am sure that will be a message that will build a lot your life. Bring the whole family together to listen to this biblical message that make a difference in your life, but before I I would like to invite you to be a Partner in Mission of the Truth and Life. Call us from Monday to Friday Receive as a gift of the program Truth and Life, the book by Pastor Hernandes:"Drps of hope for the soul ".
We can count on your help in this Ministry? Thank you very much, thank God! As announced, we will deal with the following theme:"The house on the rock ", and we will base this message in Matthew chapter 7, verses 24 to 27.
Jesus Christ was completing its most important discourse, known as the mount, and then it sums up this message and applies this message saying that who hears and practices what he taught is considered to be a prudent man who he built his house on the rock. About This house, the rain fell on the roof, the wind blew On the wall, the rivers struck the this house stood because it was built on the rock. But he that heareth the word of God, the teachings of God, and does not these lessons in practice, it is compared to a foolish, foolish man, negligent, who builds his house on the sand; and about this house happens the same things: rain falls on the roof, the wind blows in wall, it hits the river on the foundations, and this house collapses and there is a great tragedy.
Of course, this metaphor has nothing to do with with physical construction, it is also clear that if a person is to build a house and not work the foundation, this house will even fall, will collapse. But Jesus is wearing a figure of language to teach us a truth spiritual: this house is our family, this house is our life; and often we do not have the proper care and prudence to build our family on a solid foundation, on a foundation firm. Many times we plan a trip, we plan to study for a contest, we plan our business but not We plan the wedding, the relationship familiar; so there are so many families being destroyed, so many families breaking up, in the conjuncture of the storm that happens in life; mismatches, misadventures, sorrows, revolts, disappointments, betrayals; and faced with so many adverse circumstances, not having the firm foundation, marriage does not hold up, the family is not maintained, so many families wounds, so many sick families, so many hurt families, why did not they care to build these relationships on the rock.
But the question is, "Who is this rock? " The psalmist Solomon, writing the psalm 127 said an interesting thing, he says this:"If the Lord does not build the house in vain work those who build it. " This rock is Jesus himself, this rock God Himself.
The greatest need of yours and mine is not a bigger house, It's not a better house, it's not too much comfort within our home, our greatest need is for Jesus to be the great foundation of our relationships. When Jesus is present in our house, the storms come, of course. We do not live in a greenhouse.
spiritual, we are not armored like that immune from the adversities of life. About both houses, the house built on the rock and the house built on the sand were the circumstances; which distinguishes a prudent person from a foolish person are not the circumstances of life, but how do they react to these circumstances, in whom they are embedded, grounded. If you to base your life on top of money, upon success, of pleasures, if you are the center of attention, the come the natural storms of life you will collapse, You're going to collapse, marriage.
to go into crisis, the family will disaggregate, but if you build your home, your marriage, your relationships, your family, about the person of Jesus Christ, on the values of the word of God, when you listen to the word of God and put practice the word of God, then when the crisis comes, when storm coming, You will overcome this storm; yours house will remain firm, it will not to collapse Who sustains our life is God, whoever holds us by the hand is God, who gives us patience to face the great trials of life it is God, who gives us victory in temptations it is God, whoever stands us is God. Yours family, my family, our family needs God, needs Jesus. Maybe you who are there watching me?
is now saying thus:ah! but my house has already collapsed, My marriage is over, my children. already dispersed, in my house there are many sorrows, has many resentments, there are many wounds, There are many disappointments, I do not know anymore.
what to do. Maybe you look at your life, for your marriage, for your family and see a broken vase, shards scattered on the floor; I want to tell you that though seems to have no more chance, do not more hope, no more exit, put the pieces in the hands of Jesus. He restore, he heals, he renews, he gives new dreams, it brings joy, it brings back the hope, he forgives, he saves, he does it all again in his life, in your marriage, in your family.
In Who are you building your life? Who you are building your life? Do not be foolish, do not be foolish, do not be reckless, do not build on the sand.
You see that the foundation of a house is something you can not see, but it is exactly what you can not see the crisis. Many people may not know your relationship with God, his life of communion with God, what is there guarded in his heart, in his values, in its principles; people look and do not know who you're trusting, but if you put your trust in Jesus, if you steady your life on this rock which is not shaken, when the storm comes, and it will come, you will stand firm. Himself will hold you with your powerful hand, will drive you with your advice and will receive you in glory.
I want to encourage you now to turn to God, turn to God. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, to carry family to the feet of the Savior, the place his house in the hands of the living God; because there is hope for us, there is we, there is healing for us, there is liberation for us, there is a new life for us in Christ Jesus, our Lord. I'm going to pray with you, where you are, pray with me, put your family in your hands of God, pray for your wife, pray for your husband, pray for your children, pray by their parents, pray for your brothers, there is hope for your home, for your family.
Father, I beg you, apply it. word to the hearts of those who are in watching, to listen and to what practice, so that they receive a stability and firmness in the storm, which You restaurants, my God, this family, for the glory of thy name in the name of Jesus, amen.
