have you ever felt like a completely different person when you try to speak in English it's almost like you have a new identity but at the same time something is holding you back you think speak and act differently it's frustrating because you know all the words but they don't come out the way you want and for me it was the same way I was a person speaking Portuguese which is my native language but when I would try to speak in English it almost felt like I would was another person I was not very confident you
know in in my native language anyway but with English it felt like I was soulless in a way and it was kind of funny I could not show my real identity who I really was and it's crazy to think that now when I speak English or Portuguese I feel almost the same I even do more things in English and it just feels like I'm not even developing a sanum brain in English anymore I just have have one and is way better than my native language so when I first started learning English I felt like I
was collecting words like they were puzzle pieces in a way scattered and disconnected I would learn a new word or phrase one day and by the next week it felt like it disappeared from my mind completely the frustration was real and I had all these words floating around but I didn't know how to use them in a way that made sense it was like having a million puzzle pieces but no idea what picture they were supposed to be so one day I st upon a method that changed everything for me I realized that I needed
a system a mental database to store all the words and phrases in a way that was easy to access it was like building a library in my mind so instead of just learning new words I started organizing them by categories so for example if I learned the word impress Rive I wouldn't just let it sit alone I would link it with phrases like make an impression or leaving a less impression so suddenly I wasn't just memorizing the words I was building connections think of it like this when you learn a new word don't just learn
it in isolation picture it like a new book in your library where does it belong how does it connect with words that you already know it start linking vocabulary to situations emotions or even specific memories I created this mental feeling system where I could easily pull out the words and expressions I needed whatever I wanted this made speak English so much easier because I wasn't looking for words I already had them organized ready to go and as I begin to create this mental database you'll notice something powerful your brain starts to work more effectively it
knows where to find the words and expressions and you won't resit as much when you speak you feel that the second Brin English will come to life but that is just the first step because now we got to make sure that your thoughts can flow in English just as they do in your native language here's something I bet you've done before you're in a shower or maybe walking down the street and suddenly you start having a conversation with yourself in your native language right I know that you know what I'm talking about you're thinking about
your day planning what to say in a meeting or just replaying a funny moment with a friend it's effortless have you ever tried doing that in English when I started to learn English it was one of the most challenging things for me my brain was wired to think in Portuguese whenever I wanted to say something English I would think of it in Portuguese first then try to translate it by the time I got the words out the conversation had already moved on I felt stuck in in an endless loop of slow responses and awkward pauses
all the time it was awkward and embarrassing but then I realized that to be fluent in English I had to start to think in English so it was like building a second voice inside you had one that speaks in English even when you're alone so I began practicing a new habit developing an inner monologue in English it wasn't easy at all at first I would force myself to describe what I was doing out loud in English I'm making a coffee I need to go to the store something like that or what should I wear today
something like that of course it felt weird at first because my brain was so used to thinking Portuguese all the time but over time I stopped needing to translate everything from Portuguese my thoughts started flowing naturally in English I wasn't just speaking English I was thinking English and this was a game changer because when you think in English you can respond faster conversations become easier because you're not translating in your head all the time you're essentially leaving the language I encourage now I encourage you to try next time when you're doing something very simple like
brushing your teeth walking the dog or cooking talk to yourself in English you start narrating your day at first you will feel forced because you're not used to it but soon your brain will adapt and before you know it you will be having entire inner monologues in English without even realizing it and when that happens your brain will be ready to respond faster in real conversations now thinking English is really important but if you really want to feel at home in the language you need to dive deeper into to how people speak and that is
where contextual learning comes in now I want you to imagine that you watching a TV show in English and a character says I'm going to hit this sack at first you might think what does that even mean hit a sack but if you watch closely you'll see that the character yawn and head to bed suddenly it clicks oh hit the sack means go to bad that is contextual learning is how you learned your native language no one sat you down and explained every word you learn from contest by listening to conversations watching how people react
and piercing to together the meaning from the situation and guess what you can do the same thing in English when I was learning I used to get stuck on individual words I would look up every single word that I didn't know and try to memorize it but but I wasn't making much progress it wasn't until I started focusing on the bigger picture on how words are used in context the things started to click instead of obsessing over every word I pay attention to how phrases were used in real life situations for example I would watch
movies or listen to podcasts and focus on the patterns of how people spoke if I heard someone say I would take a rank check for example I wouldn't immediately rush to translate it I would try to understand the context why did they say that what was happening in the conversation by doing this I started to internalized language patterns naturally and over time those patterns become a part of my own speaking style now contextual learning isn't about memorizing phrases all the time it's about understanding why and when people use them it's about picking up on the
Rhythm and flow of the language the mar you Expos itself to English in real context test whether through TV shows conversations or books the more your brain will absorve those patterns you will start to speak more naturally without overthinking it so immerse yourself in English as much as possible watch movies listen to podcasts have conversations and pay attention to how the language works and contest it's like building a puzzle piece by piece you will start to see the big picture and soon your English second brain will think and speak just like a native or very
similar to one now developing a second brain for English fluency isn't just about memorizing words or perfecting grammar it's about creating entire system in your mind that mirrors how you speak and how you think in your native language by building a mental database developing a fluent inner monologue in learning language patterns through contest you will transform yourself into a confident English speaker and once you reach that level English won't feel like a second language anymore it just feels like part of who you are and it just feels like you are another person in English and
it just feels amazing because you don't have to go through that process of over and over again translate everything from English to your native language so you can understand 100% And once you get to that level you will appreciate so much because it's so much fun when you get to that level you just can appreciate the language more you don't have to go to that process every single time that you try to speak in English and every and every time you try to to think in English but there's another thing really important for you to
develop a second brain in English more naturally is practicing your speaking skills especially if you don't have anyone this video right here will show you how you can do it by yourself especially if you don't have anyone in or an introvert see you soon
