In a farm at night, after the farm's owner Jones had drank a lot an had gone to sleep, A clandestine meeting among the animals begins The one speaking at the meeting is a pig who openly speaks about each animals' reality. Everyone lives a miserable, painful and short life. They get little food and are forced to work until the last portion os their lives.
After that, they're thrown away. No animal is happy nor free, on the contrary, actually the life is made of misery and slavery. And after that he switched to his dream where every human would disappear and the animals could live in harmony and equality.
Where each one would work according to their abilities and everything would be distributed equally. Hello, my name is Albano, a lover of personal development, animals and books that make our minds think a little. A this is the Seja Uma Pessoa Melhor.
Today we're gonna talk about the book The Revolution of the Animals. On the following day after Jones had been extremely cruel with the animals They Rebelled, and under the leadership of two pigs, whose names were Napoleão and snowball, they managed to kick the farm's owners out and take control of the place. .
That's right, the story of the animals is kinda crazy but if you haven't realized yet. . This is a great analogy between the powerful men of society and the large working population which is displeased.
An example of what occured in the Russian Revolution. And there in the book the animals are the ones who decide to organize and remove the oppressor human beings from power and create a society where everybody cooperate with each other aiming the improvement of the group. .
. And in the beginning the rebellion is a success. The animals are all happy for the great changes, they work freely and even define seven commandments by which they are gonna live.
They organized themselves so well, but so well without any executioner doing things that they end up working less, having more leisure time and leaving the working at the farm even better than what they were used to. It would be, and is the perfect picture of utopia created based on the idea that we can live in a equal manner, that we can all work in which we are more skilled and share all our achievements with our group creating a more efficient and fair world. However.
. . and it is logical that there would be difficulties but the story goes on.
. The pigs, which where the ones who started the revolution and that according to the book are the most intelligent, As time went by they decided to have the leadership position over other animals because from their point of view leadership is always important other animals because from their point of view leadership is always important and then some privileges are created: some privileges are created: they could work less because they would have to organize and guide the other animals Their food begin to be differentiated and they are the only ones who can drink milk and eat apple, with the justification that they need more nutrients due to their intellectual capacity And a long speech is given to tell that the intelligence of the pigs is what keeps the cruel human beings from coming back to the farm Ahh, I love these dystopias. .
. You know why? Because they depict what happens in people's lives EVERY DAY.
Tell me, why are there 50-year-old politicians are already retired while the rest of the population will probably have to die and ressurrect to benefit from it? And also why the directors of big companies have a special place for lunch when we're at work? This is it: Leaders using their power to self-benefit.
Totally regrettable attitude. . .
Moreover, the existent terror in their speeches which says that is such thing won't be done something terrible is gonna happen; you are gonna lose your acquired rights, you won't have a job anymore, you will be worse if i'm not taking advantage on you completely for self-benefit. . .
And tell me, what are we doing about it as population or workers? We accept this situation and we aren't even a little better than the ones who accept the pigs' orders. But back to the story, the time goes on and then just like every great power, it goes to the pig's head and they start.
a little more at a time, to manipulate data to gain more powers, getting to the points where they manipulated the 7 commandments written on the wall. They were constantly changed in favor of the pigs. And as the pigs were the only only who could read well in addition to the short memory of the other animals, they couldn't perceive such changes and the process always worked.
When some indications that some animals weren't liking this new system begin to appear, they always came back with propaganda. So, you guys don't want Jones to come back, right? And the the animals went back to work like slaves and also happy because they knew that everything they did would come back as benefits to them and their species not to the lazy, profiteers human beings.
And this is where I want to highlight the perfect analogy, see? First the data manipulation. The animals couldn't read as well as the populations can't understand the laws, which are thousands times more than just 7, and then, for those who have power it becomes easy to manipulate at will.
And we really have a bad memory. . .
That question "Which candidate you voted for in past elections? " it's always answered with "I don't know" by us. But what's even worse for me is that reference to the terror people go through It's already known that the human beings, the animals of the analogy, fear risks.
. . Knowing that, we are bombed with real allusions to the terror through all means.
That which is translated in the book as " You guys don't want Jones back, right? ", in our lives is translated as: vote for such candidate, he steals, but makes it happen. .
. or: work for extra hours else you will be fired. .
. or: drinking water in lunch? Soda is the right one.
. . And then if you haven't realized yet, you are shaped by the government, by work and by the industry to be exactly what they want.
The worker that works to sustain the corrupt politicians, bosses that are like executioners. . and an industry that only wants to use you to fill their pockets with money The revolution of the animals was used as analogy to the Russian revolution, but the problems we are going through are the same.
Many people may have read the book and probably thougt. . Wow!
The totalitarianism is really bad, how they manipulated things, how they used the power to take advantage of the population! But did it only happen in the past? Seeing is also needed.
. . And that was a little short but great book "The Revolution Of The animals".
I hope I didn't spoil the reading for those who still haven't read it. And I await for comments down below; Those who already read the book and have a different opinion or want to add something else. .
