Top Fiverr Sellers Are Getting This Wrong, and So Are You! Here are 6 essential steps you need to ...
Video Transcript:
in this video we have six key points to address that's hopefully going to stop you from sending me messages like this complaining about how you haven't had any fiver orders in the last few months and how the only clients your FIV Giga tracks are those that aren't willing to pay more than $5 for your services because the truth is if you're in that situation right now then it's not Fiverr that's the problem but it's the way that you're marketing your services so let me show you how we're going to optimize your F gig and start
bringing you in a lot more sales with Point number one okay the first thing I want to talk about is thumbnails and videos because these are the most important and this is what everybody seems to get wrong so if we look here I've just typed in graphic design because generally graphic designers should be great at thumbnails right and as we scroll down the first page we can see actually some of these thumbnails are really well made but the problem I see is that all of these thumbnails blend in together there's not one thumbnail that really
stands out and if I was to pick a thumbnail that stands out the most I would probably pick this one here purely because it's a nice bold color there's very limited text on the thumnail so it's clear and understandable and if we look at this other guy right next to this thumbnail as you can see he's tried to put on as much text as possible so that he can basically describe every single service he offer offers but it's a massive mistake because nobody can read this the text is way too small so unless I actually
click onto his gig there's no way of reading what's on his thumbnail and this is exactly like YouTube so on YouTube they always recommend putting three to four words maximum on your thumbnail anything more than that it's too much purely because the text will be smaller and people won't be able to see it so clearly and generally people just won't read it the same goes for your FIV gig so even this one here here they've gone way over the top with the things that they have on their thumbnail and nobody's going to sit here and
read a thumbnail for two or three minutes to find out exactly what you offer that's just not going to happen so stop putting so much information on your thumbnail so this is a big thing and generally these are okay some of these guys are level one level two but even top sellers are getting this wrong and I'll show you exactly what I mean in a minute now generally with your thumb now you need to make sure that it stands out so don't just copy what everybody else is doing because that is a major mistake you
need to stand out and another great thing that you can do so if you actually look right here so we're under graphic design right now but all of these guys have the ability if they want to upload a video as well but not many of them have pretty much none of them have and this is a big mistake because you're a freelancer and I've said this many times you're not a Fortune 500 company your potential buyer will buy you as well as your service but they will buy you first and then they'll buy your service
so you need to be able to connect with that potential buyer therefore just creating a simple video it doesn't need over-the-top editing it can literally be you sitting down and speaking to the camera just speaking to the client telling them who you are what you have done in the past and what you are offering now on Fiverr it can be that simple if you really wanted to and actually coming up very soon I'm going to make a separate video purely on this on how to make the best FIV videos that actually sell your gig so
if you're not subscribed maybe subscribe to that one but I just want to show you real quick as well because top sellers are getting this completely wrong so let's go for let's go back up to the search and let's type in my my Niche which is spokesperson now we go down okay straight away this guy this guy right here this is Ali has got it wrong let's go down we can see top sellers Louise okay this guy is a pro seller he's been on FIV for absolute ages he has made tons of money and he's
still getting it wrong and what I mean by getting it wrong is look at his thumbnail he's got his mouth open it's it's not a thumbnail it's a freeze frame from his actual video and this is where he's making a massive mistake so as you can see others have actually got thumbnails but if you want to overcome this Freeze Frame like Louise's got what you need to do is when you actually upload your gig so let's say you're uploading your new gig or even if you have a gig right now with a video and you
have that Freeze Frame effect this is how you get past it so go to edit your gig up here these are all the steps that you would take to upload new gig go to Gallery this is where you upload your video so as you can see on my video I've actually got my thumbnail on my video and generally I always add it to my video and I always add it is the first image in the free below that as well but just to show you what I mean so here this is my complete video yes
so we click play as you can see this is my video right now but at the end of all of my videos or at the start this is completely up to you either the start or the end I always add my thumbnail for approximately like half a second Fades out and then go to my thumbnail because now we've got it at this screen I can say set as preview your thumbnail has been updated so now that screenshot right there will be my thumbnail obviously if I wanted it to be my video I can pick any
of these I can click set as preview and now this this shop right here is going to be my thumbnail but obviously it's not that great so that is what you need to do if you upload a video and you still need a thumbnail you need a thumbnail even if you have a video it's a no-brainer you need to add your thumbnail to your video stick it at the end for half a second and then once fiver verifies your video just go back to the editing stage and make sure you select your thumbnail as your
um as your screenshot to be shown as your thumbnail okay so this is one of the biggest things thumbnails are key don't copy everybody else make yours stand out not a ton of text not a ton of Graphics realistically if you can put your face on the thumbnail that is also a big winner because then people connecting directly with you okay Point number two and this is going to come in when somebody actually clicks on your gig so we need Point number one in place the thumbnail and the video to get people to actually click
onto your gig now on point number two it's all about your packages because as you can see I've just picked a random guy here David and the reason I picked him because to be honest I felt his title was lacking now he does have a good amount of feedback but generally his title is lacking quite a bit in my opinion I will solve all your copyrighting needs very generalized it's not specifying any particular thing and yeah it's not really catching me at all even his thumbnail so as we can see his thumbnail isn't great so
this is not a great option to copy and that's kind of why I picked it I want to show you guys kind of what not to do in a way but the next next thing as a buyer you're going to be looking at the packages yeah so before you even scroll down to the description next thing you'll look at is the packages so we have the basic standard and premium Now on his packages obviously he's got the this one is 100 words great for product descriptions emails mission statements Facebook ads social media posts Etc okay
so this is quite nice it tells a buyer exactly kind of what they're getting 200 words great for about us Pages product pages so he's been very detailed here and this is very good so he is literally telling you exactly what you get and this is what you need to do with your package your package shouldn't be a guessing game now I completely understand there is a limit of characters when you actually um when you complete this on Fiverr I don't know how many characters it is but there is a limit so you have to
be quite strategic in what you write but he has done a very good job at writing exactly what the client can expect from this 100 200 words and 500w packages also he's got five-day delivery one revision again I've spoken about the revisions before there are a lot of you guys who are offering unlimited revisions and it's a big mistake it shows that you don't have any confidence in your work and that when you deliver the client can have unlimited revisions because you don't believe that client's going to be happy unlimited revisions are something that you
just should not do now of course some clients will kind of push you maybe for unlimited revisions or more revisions but you need to be strong here you need to say no I offer one revision or two revisions maximum and then anything after that would be paid revisions there is no reason why clients need to have more than two revisions okay you should be able to get all of the revisions done within the first revision it should be that simple so one to two revisions maximum so here is done very well here 4-day delivery 5-day
delivery and 4-day delivery of course your delivery day this is another way that you can be competitive if you can put a lower delivery time that's great but make sure that you can actually fulfill this delivery time if you can't fulfill it and you end up running late on orders it's going to backfire on you so for example a lot of my videos I actually offer free-day delivery purely because I find that actually this gives me a slight competitive Edge over my competition who are offering 7-Day delivery and be quite honest delivering videos can be
timec consuming so 7 days is fully understandable but generally a lot of potential buyers are not willing to really wait that long so you can be competitive with your pricing here and your delivery time now regarding pricing if you are just starting out as a new Fiverr seller realistically you do need to price yourself lower unfortunately and this is purely because you need to build up feedback you need to build up the five star feedback once you get that up to maybe 20 30 50 feedback then of course you can increase your prices that's not
a problem but at the moment on fiver your other Competitive Edge will be your price so to keep it low at the start does mean you will probably attract buyers that aren't great but once you get 10 20 feedback increase your price and you'll be surprised recently I increased my prices because I wanted more time for myself and my things like creating YouTube videos for you guys so I increased my prices and what has that done actually the only thing has done is given me a lot more work at higher prices and it hasn't decreased
my workload at all seriously the last couple of days yesterday I cleared $4,000 on Fiverr the day before that was $1,700 it is crazy at the moment for me so I'm not complaining but generally it's had the opposite effect of what I thought it was going to have so don't be scared to increase your prices but definitely check what the rest of your competition is [Music] doing now Point number three and that's all about the description now as a potential buyer we've clicked on the gig we've seen the video we've seen the thumbnails we've seen
any previous work that could be there we've seen the packages that David offers we're going to stick with David for this one and then we scroll down to the description and this is where David has got it a little bit wrong now as we can see he's put a note at the top but then he hits us with a little a little sentence are you looking for amazing 100% original content that will sell so he's trying to get us to kind of Click into this not the best sales line I think we can definitely do
something better and then well you've come to the right place for all your copyrighting needs again generalized as hell then down here he is literally just done line after line after line after line he hasn't even bullet pointed it or or anything he's just line after line and the problem with David here he has fit so many so many different Services under one gig and he could easily create multiple gigs for all of these Services which would then put more eyeballs onto his profile but instead he's decided to go the other way which I believe
is a massive mistake so what we can do here here are two templates because I know writing descriptions can be hard for some people some people decide to write just a couple of lines other people decide to go like this and for me as a potential buyer seeing this this has not sold me I don't know if David is good or not the only thing that's sold me right now on David is the fact that he has 3,000 feedback that's the only thing that sold me on his Services right now so we have two templates
that I've created for you the first template is a service focused approach okay so the way this would work is we would have an introduction so you'd start with a brief introduction about yourself and your expertise so this could look something in the lines of hi my name is Chris I'm a passionate blank this is where your profession goes with over 10 years of experience in a specific area now now we need to have a specific area so not like what David has done in regards to having everything but a specific area I specialize in
now you can have your specific skill or service ensuring that my clients receive topnotch results or exponential results okay so you can mix up the adjectives here but this is your first introduction who you are your experience and what you specialize in this is your first paragraph okay then next up we have what you offer so this is where your service details come into play okay so clearly outline what's included in your gig and be specific about what you provide not just a bullet point about okay what you're going to get but actually detailed instructions
of kind of what you are going to provide then just below that we can have the benefits and the benefits being this is a selling point to the client here you need to sell the benefits of picking you and your service what is your service going to give the client what's the benefit of your service for the client after that we can add in additional options now these can be for example extras and upgrades so you could have for example faster delivery or anything like that different extras that you can provide I for example have
like if somebody wants a printed T-shirt with their logo on I have added subtitles to videos I have extra Graphics a different camera angle everything like that they can also add as extras and I do specify that because unless somebody's going to go through and purchase your gig they're not going to see those extras until they click on the purchase button and see the extras that they can add on to their gig then you can finish up with the requirements now this is just basically telling the client what they need to add to the requirements
what they need to give you in order for you to fulfill the project successfully and of course if you want to add the turnaround time at the bottom and how you can make a faster turnaround time you can add this it's not 100% necessary but it's something that you could add and then finish with a closing and the closing is going to be the call to action so something like I'm excited to work with you feel free to message me if you have any questions or any special requests just a closing call to action okay
so that's template one the service focused approach but then we have template two which is the problem solution approach and this is something that David tried to go for slightly but hasn't really worked out for him now the introduction to this will begin with a question that actually resonates with the potential clients so this could be for example like are you tired of blank the specific problem so it could be like like are you tired of 87% of people scrolling past your Tik toks without giving it a second look yeah so it's it's some kind
of hook and you need to what I would normally do here is add in some kind of real statistic and it's just about catching the pain point for your potential client really catch them and say yeah I am I am annoyed at those 87% of people how can I fix this can you help me fix this that's what you want to do right there okay then after that straight after the pain point then you can go into how you can help and again if we just quickly go back to uh David's gig he did try
this he tried this are you looking for an amazing 100% original content that will sell well you come to the right place for all your copyrighting needs great not bad but generally very plain and a little bit boring to be completely honest so he can definitely do a lot better with this now after you hit those points and you give them that solution sentence then you go into exactly how you can help how is your service that you're providing right here on Fiverr going to help them and how they're going to benefit okay so really
describe your service about what you offer and what you can do not bullet points I mean a full sentence okay so really give details because it should answer every single question that that potential buyer has without them having to message you to ask you more questions that is the aim of your description okay then of course you can add your unique selling proposition so for example you can explain what makes your service more unique compared to your competition so for example you could have experience in a certain area that the majority of your competition don't
have and you can actually use that to your advantage so there are a lot of different things it doesn't even have to be experienced it could be you know the way that you live your life where you live for example so for example if you're a video creator the fact that I would live in I don't know Florida the fact that I have you know palm trees around me great weather all the time it means that I can shoot video outside in the sun and that's going to be a benefit to a lot of potential
buyers whereas other sellers will be living in I don't know Alaska for example and you know the video content outside it just wouldn't work so just even these small benefits can really help you if you live in a capital city for example that can also be a plus point then of course you can go into what's included so what's included in your packages so you can go through your basic standard and premium package and tell the clients exactly what's included in each one of these packages obviously you do have a limit of characters in your
description which is 1,200 so you have to be quite strategic with this as well then this is a good one and this is something that I have been doing and this is actually adding a portfolio Link in your description and you can do this it's absolutely fine so for me what I used to do because I didn't really have a portfolio was I put a YouTube channel link into my Fiverr description so that basically people could copy and paste that into their browser and it would take them to uh unlisted Channel where I have a
lot of my previous work that I've done and they can see the videos that I've done but of course you can be more professional with this you can create a uh simple portfolio with a canva template and have the URL in your description you can do a behance template um or behance uh portfolio or you can even have your website portfolio and paste the URL in your description this is a winner because generally the portfolio option that's already on Fiverr a lot of people don't really go there because it's a little bit hidden I think
personally okay and then of course at the end you can just go for the next steps and the call to action so explain the next steps to the client what they need to do go ahead place the order enter your requirements and let's get this project started you know like a little call to action that's going to prompt them to actually place the order okay Point number four this is keyword tags now if we we're going to stick with David for now and if we scroll down let's see what keyword tags he is currently using
so we have to scroll right to the bottom okay we see related tags copywriting about page sales copy website content landing page all pretty good tags to be honest maybe a belt page I would probably change this tag but these tags where you can find them so if we go back to editing your gig when you first create your gig you'll have to add tags we come down here and we have positive keywords so these are tags which will help your gig show up when people search for these kind of keywords okay so for example
I have spokesperson video spokesperson green screen medical spokesperson spokesperson video now I see some people create tags which are just completely redundant and they do not connect with the gig or what they're offering at all so for example they could just write a redundant one for me would be medical because nobody's going to search medical on Fiverr like they're not going to search medical they're going to search medical something so here we have medical spokesperson and what you can do when you come down here you can actually now this is is only in the seller
plus and so this does cost you money I think it's like $19 or $29 a month but you can go to the top keywords Tab and basically Fiverr will tell you if we go to keyword research and let's say let's say for example I writing and translation articles and blogs SEO writing let's go for lifestyle blogs okay that's okay that's not great so let's go for SEO writing so right now we can see blog writing is the search term blog writing is ranked number one it has a high search volume um conversion rate medium but
competition is high but then for example blog post okay we've got competition medium search volume medium okay so we can actually see here kind of what keywords maybe we should use and we can also think about these key wordss about using them in our gig title as well because the gig title is also something that's super important so keyword tags and gig title these are like your SEO champions of your fiver gig this is where you really want to be placing your keywords the description is really not so important I know a lot of people
said about keywords in your description was a big thing it's really not okay Point number five and this is faq's now if we come back to David he's actually done some FAQs and you can add these to every single one of your gigs now these are great I don't know if many clients really scroll down this far on your page to see the FAQs but they are definitely something that you can add and it really fills out your gig and shows how professional you are and this kind of will back you up later on let's
say if you have any problems with clients like for example one FAQ for me could be that I don't offer free revisions if the client changes the script after I've recorded it if I have that in one of my FAQs it would just back me up if ever a client started arguing saying that they want a free revision because then I can just show him that actually no it says on my gig that I don't do this so he's got I'm not sure how many words I need for my project what should I order okay
I pric my uh I pric by word count but I understand a lot of clients don't really know so he's actually you know answering a lot of the questions that buyers potentially have so FAQs are a great way to just answer those questions so that buyers don't technically have to message you to ask them okay Point number six and this is the last point to really create you an exceptional F gig which is going to start making you a lot more money now I want to show you this guy this is vasil and generally he's
a friend actually really great guy he's um he's a social media manager he creates social media content for clients and that kind of stuff now this guy's been on fiver for quite some time and he does exceptionally well he's got his own YouTube channel which you can go check out I recommend it but he does really well so generally at any one time he has around 200 orders active orders in Q which is crazy every day he generally has to respond to 80 plus messages and it's insane but one thing I seriously admire about what
he is doing is that if we go to one of his gigs here so we scroll down to his reviews okay so this was a month ago five stars sellers response thank you very much for your feedback and for your kind words really enjoyed working for you next one okay we can see actually he's copy and pasted this a little bit now but okay that one's a little bit different but generally I saw this a few weeks ago and the fact is he replies to almost all of his feedback and this is a guy that
has 200 plus active orders in queue at any one time and he finds the time to do this I don't even do this and this is a massive thing that you should be doing because it's great that a client leaves you feedback yes but the fact that you can use your own words and show potential buyers your own words that you're responding to those clients it shows that actually you're interested in them it shows that you know how you had such a great time with this client and now you have this great little communication like
this client has left you great feedback and now you also give great feedback back to that client and shows what your working relationship was like to potential buyers and this is something I admire about him a lot and I asked him like how the hell does he do this because I know he has a team but no he literally told me that he responds to these by himself so these are all his own responses and for somebody who's that busy on Fiverr to do that for me is absolutely crazy so that right there are the
six key points that if you follow exactly will optimize any of your FIV gigs make you more sales and you'll have to stop wasting your time on these fiver clients that don't want to pay more than $ five dollar for your services now I really hope you found this useful I know it's been a long one if you did find this useful though on screen right now is another video that actually I think you'll find even more useful so go check it out
