we are very happy to see the rain I was reading that it hadn't rained in a long time and people were running out of water everywhere I go it rains anytime they have a drought in the United States they send for me so we come to Rio and bring the rain and I know that you need the rain the Bible says God sends the sunshine and the rain now I have read that Rio has more Sunshine than almost any major city in the world but since we've been in Rio we've not seen much sun we

shall look forward to seeing the sun on Sunday and maybe tomorrow and I hope that all of you can come tomorrow and Sunday I believe that you have a responsibility as a Christian to come people all over the world are praying for this Crusade and they are following this Crusade by radio and by television and by the news reports so let's tell them that Christ lives in Brazil come to the meeting tomorrow and Sunday afternoon we're going to start at 2:30 now there are many rumors that are going around that are not true one rumor

that spread all of Rio today is that I had left town because my wife had died my wife is very much alive and she's getting much better thank you and I'm still in Rio and I intend to stay in Rio through Sunday because Sunday afternoon we want to see one of the greatest demonstrations for Christ in the history of Brazil tomorrow night I want to speak to young people everybody under 100 years old and all their parents from tomorrow night the problems of young people and how can parents handle those problems Sunday afternoon I want

to speak on the glory of Brazil on Sunday afternoon the closing service the glory of Brazil so you come and bring all your friends when we came out here tonight it was pouring rain the lightning was flashing and I had very little faith I said the lightning will probably strike the amplification and nobody can hear and I said very few people will attend the meeting and when I come here and see this tremendous crowd my admiration for the people of Rio goes way up and we will carry the memory of this night many years to

come and this may become the greatest service we've held because of what God is going to do here tonight now I'm going to ask that everyone stay where you are it is impossible for people to listen with so many people walking around now sit and stay where you are and let's have absolute quietness nobody talking nobody moving nobody Whispering one person walking disturbs hundreds of others because tonight we're here to talk about an important subject your relationship to God your relationship to your family your relationship to your neighbor so you listen tonight with both sets

of ears the Bible teaches that you do have two sets of ear your physical is that you hear my voice and your spiritual ears in which you will hear the voice of God while I'm speaking God will also be speaking listen for the voice of God in your heart I'm going to ask that we bow our heads in prayer every head bow All Eyes Closed Mr Cashel will pray for amen tonight I want to speak on the subject the carnival of death Rio is known throughout the world for the great MRA Carnival there was a

great king in the Bible that also held a carnival but it ended in death and destruction and judgment and tonight the whole world seems to be engaged in a great Carnival eating and drinking and dancing and making merry when we stand on the very edge of hell a few months ago I was in ancient Persia in the land of Iran I was received by the king of Iran the Sha of Iran I had a talk with him for about an hour about three or four years ago he held a great Carnival in which he celebrated

2500 years of the existence of ancient Babylon and Persia he held the greatest Carnival of this Century he was celebrating the Ascension of Nebuchadnezzar to the throne of Babylon that was the beginning of Persia and I said to the Sha this I said your majesty you realize that one of the prophets of the Bible was the Prime Minister under Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar was one of the greatest kings in the history of the world and Daniel the Prophet Rose to become his prime minister when Daniel was a little boy he lived in Jerusalem the great armies of

Babylon invaded Jerusalem and captured him and took him way over to babyin 1500 miles away Jerusalem had been destroyed Jeremiah the prophet had predicted it Daniel was one of the young men chosen by the great King Nebuchadnezzar to be reared in his court but in the fifth chapter of Daniel that I want to tell the story about tonight Nebuchadnezzar had already died another king was now reigning his name was Bazar and Babylon was the greatest Empire in all the world most of the world was under the control of Babylon her armies were the greatest she

had more gold and more silver than any other nation in the world and belaz did not believe in God he was young very proud very rich very powerful very self-centered ah he said look at my great Empire I rule the world I'm the greatest man in the world now the Bible says that God hates pride and God loves humility the Bible says he that exalts himself shall be destroyed the Bible says whosoever shall exalt himself shall be brought down but belaz was proud but he also liked to have a good time he loved to dance

all night with beautiful women he liked sex he loved ease and pleasure the Bible says wo to them that are at ease woe to them that spend their time in pleasure judgment will come but Bazar the great king said I'm so powerful and so great nothing could happen to me he set his armies out against the enemies of Babylon and he thought he had defeated the great Meo Persian army and so he decided to have a carnival we're going to celebrate we're going to celebrate this great victory that we have over our enemies so he

invited a thousand of the princes and the Lords and the generals and the great people of the land to come to his party and the Bible in the fifth chapter of Daniel describes in detail this great Carnival and during that Carnival he was guilty of immorality and the party lasted for several days and several nights people became drunk there was a sexual orgy he was filled with pride and he said what more can I do to shock my guests we need something more to excite our emotions so then he thought when my grandfather was the

emperor he captured Jerusalem he took the golden and silver vessels off the altar of God and brought them here and they must be somewhere here he called his servants he said go get those sacred vessels from Jerusalem we're going to drink toast to the gods of wood and hay and Brass people roared with laughter look at our young king up there how handsome he is how rich he is how bold he is how daring he is what a good time he's giving us and then they brought those vessels of God into that terrible place and

they began to drink out of the vessels that had been dedicated to almighty God and by that action Bel shaza was shaking his fist in the face of God and saying I don't believe in you when you do that when you keep on in your sins despite the warning of God something will happen be sure your sin will find you out whatsoever a man Seth that shall he also reap the Bible has a law that says s and reap and reap and reap sin and you're going to reap in judgment Jeremiah the prophet said they

will sow their wheat but they're going to reap thorns so while Bel chazar the King was up there having a big time and he was almost drunk all of a sudden the people heard a hush come over the audience Bel chaz's face turned white he began to shake all over the Bible says his knees shook together the Bible says he was terrified at what he saw he saw a hand without an arm writing on the wall in letters of fire and Bel shazar was rich and he was powerful but he was afraid keep on in

your sins and judgment will surely all the way through the Bible it says prepare to meet thy God come to Christ while you can judgment is on the way Baza tried to read the writing on the wall he couldn't read it he said bring in the Wizards and the spiritists bring in the astrologers and the susers go over to the university and get the intellectuals from the University I don't know how to read that whoever reads that writing I'll make them next to me in power in the in the [Applause] rain whoever reads that writing

I'll put a gold chain around their neck and give them new clothes but the spiritists could not read it they astrologist couldn't read it the university professors couldn't read it and Bel CH became more terrified and about that moment his mother came in and she said belaz my son I know a man he ser served your grandfather he's an old man now his name is Daniel I believe he could read that writing the king said send for Daniel and so they brought Daniel in and Daniel came into that Carnival setting Daniel was clean and pure

and righteous and godly a man of prayer a man that walked with God he was not at the carnival he had been in his room praying and now the king sends for the prophet and Daniel walks in his long white hair flowing his piercing eyes he took in this wild scene immediately he looked up at the wall he recognized the writing it was God's handwriting and the King said Daniel the Prophet will you read that writing for me I'll make you a powerful and rich man if you'll read the writing Danel the prophet said I

don't want your gifts I don't want to be rich I don't want to be powerful there are many people that think that if they get rich and get powerful that they're going to be happy and satisfied but they're not money does not satisfy I know many millionaires in America that are very unhappy I've had many a millionaire as he got older said I'm miserable in my soul you can have the glamour of movie stars in Hollywood Our Last Crusade just closed two weeks ago and it was in Hollywood and many of those Motion Picture stars

are very miserable inside their pictures are on television their pictures in all the magazin and many young people looking at them say they must be very happy but they're very miserable because they found that money does not satisfy and glamour doesn't satisfy why you see you have a body but living inside of your body is your soul or spirit your spirit was made in the image of God and it was made for fellowship with God and without God you cannot find satisfaction anywhere the greatest philosophers of History were still searching for truth when they died

Plato Aristotle Socrates all the great philosophers of the past was searching searching searching and they never found I tell you tonight I have found what they were searching for Jesus Christ said I am the truth I am the way I'm the life I'm the way to purpose and meaning I'm the way to to joy and happiness and peace I'm the way to find intellectual truth so Daniel had found truth the great king had not found it in his pleasures and all the things that he want So Daniel said your majesty keep your gifts but I'll

tell you what's happening here tonight I'll read that writing for you that writing comes from almighty God You Were Made In His Image you were made for Fellowship for but you've sinned against him you've made him angry he's going to judge you you have lifted yourself up against almighty God then God is going to judge you you brought the vessels of God here the sacred vessels of God and you have desecrated them you have praised the gods of silver and gold and brass and iron and wood you've turned to the mediums and the spirits and

the Wizards and the astrologers and you have not glorified God nor have you given him thanks for the very life that you have take a breath of air that breath came from God if God cut that breath off you would die the rain that brings you water to drink comes from God how long has it been since you stopped to thank God for the air and for the water how long has it been since you stopped to thank God for ordinary things that we take for granted every day millions are starving in Africa but you

had a meal today you thank God for the food millions of people in India do not have anything to wear tonight the you have clothes you see we take these things for granted and the scripture says we have to give thanks in everything and for everything tonight in our prayer meeting the rain was coming down and we said thank God for the rain God sent the rain and he has a purpose in sending it on this very night and the purpose might have been to make you listen a little more carefully tonight to the word

of God and all of this rain might have come just for you so that the spirit of God could speak to you Daniel said yes I'll read the writing here here's what it [Music] means what is it mean many God has numbered your kingdom and finished it you're through Bel secondly you'll weigh in the balances and you don't weigh enough your kingdom is going to be divided you're going to be destroyed destroyed before this night is over and God says the same thing tonight I read the newspapers I hear the news on radio I've traveled

all over the world during the past year I want to tell you something from my heart and mind tonight handwriting is on the wall judgment is coming repent while you can turn to God now the handwriting is on the wall God says judgment is on the way the word many means remember God remembers what does God remember about you he remembers your sins every sin you ever committed every thought that you ever thought he has on a tape recorder it's all there even your thinking and at the Judgment you'll stand up and say but Lord

I didn't say that I didn't think that they'll play the tape recorders then they have it all on film and on the screen for everyone to see will your life you belong to an Evangelical Church perhaps but during the week you're not living the Christian Life it'll all be there what a big hypocrite you are and the tears will come down and you'll cry for Mercy but it'll be too late at the Judgment because at the Judgment many people will scream but it'll be too late but God also remembers something else God remembers to erase

your sins on the tape recorder because of Jesus Christ in spite of your sins God loves you he gave his son on the cross to die in your place he raised him from the dead and because Christ died God will forgive all sin I'm not going to the Judgment I'll not see you there because the Bible says there therefore now no judgment to them that are in Christ I have received Christ into my heart he has forgiven my sin he has given me pleasure and joy and happiness all these years when I die I know

I'm going to heaven I will not be at the Judgment I will be in heaven but many of you that are here tonight will be at the judgment and you will see for yourself what he's going to happen there but God remembers to forget your sins when you come to Jesus Christ because when he looks at your sins through the blood of Christ he doesn't see any sin that's the reason it's important to come to Christ now tonight the Bible says now is the accepted time today is the day of salvation come while you can

you cannot come to Christ just anytime you want to you can come only when the Holy Spirit has prepared your heart and draws you millions of Christians around the world are praying for this meeting tonight God in his own mysterious way is preparing the hearts of many people here tonight this is your one great moment before God take advantage of it and the writing said that God weighs Us in the balances and finds US warning how many of you go to the store and they weigh whatever you're buying and they weigh it very very carefully

and in the United States sometimes the butcher will put his finger on the weight and make it way more so you have to pay more now the Bible says that God has some scales and he's weighing you and every person here tonight is in those scales we are being weighed in the balances how does God weigh you first he weighs you by the 10 commandments Thou shalt have no other gods before me thou shal not take the name of God in vain you shall not commit immorality you shall not steal you shall not lie you

shall not covet God weighs You by The Ten Commandments you say but I've never done all those things did you ever tell One Lie the Bible says for whosoever shall keep the whole law and defend in one point is guilty of all I read the Ten Commandments and I say oh god I've broken this one I broke that one I broke this one and if I break one I'm the same as having broken them all oh God I'm a sinner that's the purpose of the law the law cannot save you nobody in the history of

the world except Jesus Christ ever kept the whole law what is the law for it's a mirror I hold the mirror up I look at myself in there and I say I've Got dirt on my face I need a shave that's what the law is for I read the Ten Commandments and I know that I'm a sinner it shows me my sin and the Ten Commandments drives me to Christ where I beg for mercy if I told you tonight that you had to obey the Ten Commandments to get to heaven not one person in this

audience would ever get to heaven the second thing you're weighed by you're weighed by the law of Christ thou shall love the Lord thy God with all thy heart and thy soul and all thy mind and thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself love God with all your heart mind and soul every minute of every day and love your neighbor more than you love yourself have not done that I've failed there have been times that I have not loved God with all my heart mind and soul there have been times when I've not loved my

neighbor as myself I've broken that law I'm a sinner I deserve hell and judgment you're also being weighed by Christ the Bible says for who in heaven can be compared unto him the Bible says be ye holy for I am Holy God says be holy as God I can't be I'm not that good I'm not that righteous I come short I fail I'm a sinner but you also weighed by works Jesus said I was hungry and you didn't feed me I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink I was a stranger but you

didn't take me in I was naked and you gave me nothing to wear I was sick in prison and you didn't visit me and the disciples said Lord whenever did we see you like that he said ye did it not to one of the least of these you did it not unto me and he says because you didn't do it you go away into Everlasting punishment and you weighed weighed weighed by The Ten Commandments the law of Christ and works and all of us have failed I say to you tonight I a sinner I deserve

judgment I deserve to go to hell but God loves me he offers me his Mercy he offers me his pardon he offers me his forgiveness but you must receive it you must turn from your sins and by faith receive Jesus it's not just going to church it's not ritualism it's by personal faith in Christ you receive him and walk with him and live for him you become a follower of his do you weigh enough how do you stand before God how do you stand before God are you ready to meet God should you die tonight

Bazar refused to accept he said I don't know whether I believe all that or not that night the middle Persian army came and captured Babylon they killed the young king they killed all of his Lords and all of his princes and they became the masters of the world but they never touched Daniel they kept Daniel and the new Empire made Daniel prime minister once again God watches after his own children when the world comes crashing down God is there in 1974 the handwriting is on the wall and the handwriting says judgment is coming there's only

one safe place in the midst of the coming judgment do you know where do you know where at the cross where you are there with Christ serving him and living for him with your sins forgiven with your life changed I'm going to ask you tonight would you like that would you like that to happen to you would you like Jesus Christ to come and live in your life would you like him to be your Lord and Master and savior you can tonight by a simple commitment by a simple surrender it starts so simple like a

little baby taking its first step like a little child Jesus said you have to become like a little child you come in simple childlike faith and you say yes Lord Jesus I don't understand it all but come into my life will you say that tonight will you say it Lord Jesus I'm a sinner come into my life forgive me change me you may be a member of the church many of you may never may not be a member of the church but you've never really come to grips with Christ Christ does not live in your

own heart but you want Christ for yourself tonight you want to know the past is forgiven you want to know you're going to heaven it'll cost you something are you ready to pay the price some people may laugh at you some people will say you're foolish are you ready for that kind of talk are you ready to take your stand for Christ and start reading the Bible and praying and getting into a church where Christ is proclaimed that's the price you'll have to pay you may be the only one in your family and they may

make fun of you they may persecute you but you'll willing to come to Jesus Christ to know him if you're willing to do that I'm going to ask you to do something right now I'm going to ask our heads about in prayer and while we're in prayer if you will say I want Jesus in my heart I want to receive him as my Lord and my master and my savior I want you to stand up where you are just stand up and keep standing and then we'll have a prayer in a moment just stand up

where you are all and you that are already standing up here take your program and wave it and hold your program up as a indication that you want Christ in your heart hold it up you that are standing hold up your program so we can see and wave it and say tonight I want Christ in my heart I see a number of people and all back here where I cannot see all this big Stadium stand up and hold your program up and keep standing we're going to wait a minute you're thinking it over the night

I came to Christ they must have waited 10 minutes and I was the last one I'm glad they waited I sat there having the Battle of my life and I know what you're going through you may be in the choir you've been singing the songs of Jesus but you didn't didn't really know Jesus in your heart you stand up some counselors will come to you and give you some literature and councilors can do that right now we want to give all of you the standing some literature I want to give you a Gospel of John

so that you can take a part of the Bible back home with you I want to give you a Bible study to help you learn the Bible I want to give you some bible verses to memorize so you can carry them in your pocket and the councelor will bring them to you right now you that are standing and others of you that have not stood but you'd like to stand now stand out and wave your program so that the counselor can see it and they'll bring you your literature Now quickly right now everywhere many people

do not have a counselor yet we're going to wait just two or three minutes nobody moving except the counselors and others of you that want to stand up or you want a counselor to come and bring you the literature just wave your program and they'll see it for this is a very important moment for hundreds of people it is a moment that stands between two eternities Heaven and Hell where will you be a 100 years from tonight may be decided right here tonight don't pass it by lightly now we're going to have a prayer and

I want everyone to pray this prayer after me pray it silently or pray it out loud oh God I a sinner I'm sorry for my sin I'm willing to turn from my sin I receive Christ as Savior I accept him as Lord From This Moment On I want to serve him in the fellowship of his church in Christ's name amen amen now there are four things that are very important for every person in this audience read your Bible and study it every day I do not know a single successful Christian in the world that is

not studying his Bible every day second thing is to pray spend time every day in prayer with God thirdly witness for Christ by the smile on your face by being kind to those in your neighborhood and in your home by telling others about Christ everybody here can be an evangelist tonight and tomorrow you could win someone else to Christ you can bring several people to the services tomorrow and Sunday afternoon to help that's the way you witness for Christ then the fourth thing get into a church where Christ is proclaimed and get to work for
