welcome dear listeners today we will delve into one of the most intriguing and controversial puzzles in the scriptures what did Jesus really mean by saying I never knew you this statement might seem counterintuitive especially considering the message of love and acceptance often associated with him but brace yourselves as today's Revelations promise to challenge deep-seated beliefs and provide surprising answers stay with us as we unravel this mystery together the truth we explore may not only pique your curiosity but also change the way you engage with your faith what did Jesus really mean when he said I
never knew you depart from me these words are found in Matthew 7:23 and are part of one of Jesus most iconic discourses The Sermon on the Mount which aimed to deeply touch the hearts of his listeners initially he directs these words to his disciples it may seem odd to hear that even our omniscient Lord acknowledges not knowing someone however Jesus was referring to a special kind of knowledge related to personal and intimate bonds not merely intellectual knowledge at the conclusion of The Sermon on the Mount he provides a crucial warning about the authenticity of Faith
Jesus alerts that there will be individuals who despite presenting themselves as Christians are in fact false prophets beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves says Matthew 7:15 in the Amplified Bible they might use religious language and show signs of power but they do not truly belong to the Lord while some may appear Christian to others God may see them as wrongdoers these will be turned away from his presence according to verse 23 Jesus makes it clear that only those who do God's Will and are recognized by
him will enter Heaven what really matters is not just that we know God to some extent but that he knows us as Paul highlighted whoever loves God is known by God the Lord cares for his flock Like a Shepherd as Isaiah 40 11 states and he knows exactly who his sheep are John 10:14 reinforces this idea I am the Good Shepherd and I clearly know those who are mine they know me and have a deep personal relationship with me the stern words of Jesus I never knew you depart from me you who practice lawlessness reveal
his omniscience he did not recognize them as followers but knew deeply their hearts which were filled with iniquity Isaiah's critique of hypocrisy fits perfectly here this people draw near with with their mouth and honor me with their lips while their hearts are far from me as Isaiah 2913 States the wrongdoers that Jesus declares he does not know are those who pose as Christians or teachers but whose Essences are corrupt in Revelation 22:15 we find a vivid description outside are the dogs and those who practice evil the sexually immoral the murderers the idolators and every one
who loves and practices falsehood Jesus warns us that the day will come when he will say to some religious practitioners I never knew you God takes no pleasure in sending people to hell as written in 2 Peter 39 in the Amplified Bible the Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness but is patient toward you not wishing that any should perish but that all should reach repentance at the time of judgment many will try to justify themselves as deserving of heaven based on their works but this will be insufficient despite claiming
to have done all these good works in the Name of Christ they failed to perform the true work that God values having faith in the one he sent and then Jesus the just judge will sentence them to Eternal separation from himself a well-known biblical commentator noted this warning from Jesus applies to people who say Lord Lord but whose spiritual life does not reflect their daily actions they attend church fulfill certain religious duties but still sin against God and neighbor like anyone else they are those who may speak like Angels but live like demons who have
the smooth tongue of Jacob but the rough hands of Esau Jesus proclaimed that he will be the judge everyone will face on the final day of judgment and is rightfully called Lord this statement No Doubt surprised many at the time imagine a relatively unknown teacher living in a secluded region announcing he would be the ultimate judge of all people in the future by mentioning on that day Jesus highlighted the importance of an upcoming day of judgment for all Humanity ask yourself what is the main purpose of my life will I give it as much importance
on the day of judgment as I do now will I consider it wise to have pursued this goal earnestly I can defend my choice now but will I be able to defend it then when all that belongs to Earth and time Fades away Charles Spurgeon a renowned preacher reflected on this saying Lord Lord was it not in your name that the people described by Jesus in this context performed notable spiritual Feats they prophesied drove out demons and performed many miracles despite being impressive these actions do not substitute for True companionship and connection with Jesus notably
although they did these things in jesus' name they never established a true relationship of love and communion with him Jesus declared I never knew you depart from me you who practice lawlessness true salvation is based on knowing Jesus and being known by him not just on verbally confessing or relying on the Spiritual Works performed it's our connection with him established through the gift of faith he grants us that assures our Salvation when we are connected to Jesus we are safe without this connection even Miracles and great Deeds mean nothing what a terrible word what a
terrible separation depart from me from the very Jesus they Proclaim and in whom eternal life can only be found for United with Christ everything is heaven separated from him everything turns into hell Jesus is the Supreme judge the Keys of the Kingdom are in his hands to depart from Christ is to experience the true hell of Hells this is the essence of all the misery of the Damned to to be cut off from any hope of benefiting from Christ and his mediation true faith in Christ is tested by obedience to the father's will simply saying
Lord Lord and professing belief is not enough it is also essential to follow and obey the Lord's commandments one might acquire religious vocabulary memorize Bible verses and hymns but still fail to follow God's will those who are truly born again have the spirit of God residing within them with the help of the Holy Spirit they manage to understand and follow the father's will As Romans 8:9 in the new King James version States however you are not in the flesh but in the spirit if indeed the spirit of God dwells in you now if anyone does
not have the spirit of Christ he does not belong to him the love of God poured into their hearts motiv them to obey God and serve others Romans 5 five compliments and hope does not disappoint because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us once the door is closed it will never open again however some people still hold out hope that this door might open again but there is nothing in the scriptures that justifies such an expectation Jesus said everyone who hears these
words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock the rain came down the floods came and the winds blew and beat against that house yet it did not fall because it had its foundation on the Rock these words remind us of the importance of a faith that not only listens but acts solidifying itself in the unshakable truth of the gospel and those who hear these words of mine and do not put them into practice will be like a foolish man who built his house on
the sand the rain came down the floods came up the winds blew and struck that house and it fell and great was its fall as described in Matthew 7:24 27 Christ's listeners can be divided into two groups those who listen and follow his teachings and those who listen but do not act accordingly Christ while preaching to a diverse crowd distinctly separated one group from the other just as he will do on the great day when all nations will be gathered before him listening to Christ implies not just giving him the opportunity to speak but obeying
him the Lord was highlighting a fundamental truth our profession of fath faith in Christ will definitely be tested before God those who truly trusted in Christ and demonstrated their faith through obedience will have nothing to fear firm on the Rock their houses will remain intact on the other hand those who professed faith in Christ but did not obey God will face condemnation we cannot take this sermon lightly as it was God himself who granted it to us we must prostrate ourselves before him and submit to his authority for we will all be judged one day
Matthew 7:28 29 in the Amplified Bible reports that after finishing his words in The Sermon on the Mount the crowds were deeply amazed and astonished at his teaching unlike the scribes Jesus taught as one who had authority of his own not depending on others to confirm what he said his way of teaching not only captured attention but also demonstrated an unquestionable Mastery of the subjects addressed the impact of his sermon was immense and although many there were amazed at that moment it is uncertain how many truly decided to follow him from that day Jesus not
only spoke but he did so with a conviction that transformed his words into law into direct command on that mountain he demonstrated an authority far more more tangible and real than any teaching of the scribes in the seats of Moses from this a crucial reflection emerges how to serve God in an acceptable way there is a clear distinction between Walking with God in our own way and serving him as he desires let us remember the lesson he gave to Saul obedience is better than sacrifice this underlines that our service to God should not be shaped
by our terms but rather strictly aligned with his revealed will it is crucial to differentiate these aspects as many people over time have proclaimed that they walked with God and fulfilled his will only to in the end hear from God depart from me first and foremost it is essential that we approach god with reverent submission the Bible gives us a deep glimpse of how Jesus prayed although we were not present to witness we are grateful for the scriptures that reveal these moments in Hebrews 5 seven we learn that during the days of Jesus Earthly life
he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death and he was heard because of his reverent submission this verse not only informs us that God always heard the prayers of his son but also highlights that Jesus was answered because of his reverent submission but how can we demonstrate this reverent submission in our own lives Hebrews 5 7 takes us back to the moment when Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane exemplifying what true submission means telling the father not my will but yours be done
let your will be done renouncing our own will and accepting God's will is a Central principle in the Christian Life Jesus recognizing the importance of this teaching gave us a perfect model of prayer commonly called The Lord's Prayer in this prayer he emphasizes the same principle by teaching us to say your kingdom come your will be done on Earth as it is in heaven by reciting these words you are essentially committing to set aside your own will when it does not align with gods allowing the Divine will to Prevail even in situations of conflict between
the two Wills another important point is genuine dedication to God dedication means a commitment of the Heart That Remains steadfast not easily shaken or discouraged in 2 Chronicles 15145 we read they took an oath to the Lord with loud acclamation with shouting and trumpets and horns and all Judah rejoiced about the oath because they had sworn it wholeheartedly and sought God eagerly and he let them find him then the lord gave them rest on every side it is vital to recognize that true rest came to them after a sincere dedication to God likewise we too
can find rest and peace when we choose to truly dedicate ourselves to God fully committing to follow his will when we truly dedicate ourselves to God we naturally enjoy his protection and this deep commitment of the heart is something that greatly pleases him true dedication leads us to carry his presence wherever we go allowing us to witness his Supernatural manifestations however it is a regrettable fact that some people despite often being in the house of God and called by his name have hearts that are far from the Living God a third crucial point is that
we must be sacrificial in our journey and service to God true stewardship requires a level of sacrifice as obedience can often be inconvenient to our carnal nature though it is essential for walking in future Divine blessings sacrifice often involves dedicating our time skills energy and resources to advance the kingdom of God on Earth consider Daniel who excelled in this type of sacrifice he gave up the comfort of being one of the King's top advisers and risked his life just to maintain his dedication to God through prayer he defied the king's orders because he was willing
to sacrifice everything for the true king he served Abraham also exemplifies well what it means to serve god with sacrifice let us pray together father I am thankful for every privilege you have granted me I appreciate the opportunities to advance your kingdom in the name of Jesus I ask for the grace to serve you acceptably with joy dedication and commitment amen we have just delved into one of the most provocative phrases of Jesus want to discover more Mysteries like this subscribe to the channel leave your like and share this video your participation helps us bring
