Good evening everyone. Today we are in our second meeting of the book Kybalion. I remind you that as the book has a very large independence of chapters, it does not matter at all if someone is coming today for the first time. These lectures will be posted on YouTube and each of them independently is very good to follow. Each of them is a chapter of the book. I remind you once again that you help us to do the same. We will make the publication of our lectures on the YouTube channel. The Novacrópoli YouTube channel. Just go
there and type it and you will get more than 100 lectures. This is a form of propaganda that has been revealed to be very good. Since we are a group of volunteers, the resource for propaganda is not so much. And really this has been a way of access to many people. So when you indicate to a friend, send an email, indicate the Novacrópoli channel and you help this friend and help the school. Thank you very much. And you can also promote your work. Remember that the purpose is to finish this book. A lecture per chapter.
Until the last one, which is chapter 15. We did in our last meeting, in our last meeting, a preview of the introduction and theme 1. I talked a little about it to you. I will put just a few ideas so that those who are coming for the first time are not too loose. It is a book that was compiled, written, you know why, in 1908. It is a book written anonymously. But it is a compilation and a commentary on the principles of Hermes Trismegistus, the great wise man of Egypt. Great wise man, that there are
people who do not believe that he even existed. But if he existed, he lived at an age that can go from 1500 to 2500 BC. It is a highly casuistic thing. Nobody knows how to say much about him. That is, he is a hermetic, a highly closed tradition. But Hermes Trismegistus, he used to say, among many other surprising things, he said, that within this school, which was a kind of closed monastic school, only for high level disciples, that he knew seven laws. And that these seven laws explained all the phenomena of the seven planes of
nature. Think of something like that, as the Paraíban would say, think of a complicated thing. Because seven laws to explain all the planes of nature, from the physical to the energetic, to the emotional, to the mental, the Indian tradition and many others, say that there are seven. A lower mental, a superior mental, an intuitive and the plane of essences, the plane of will. And fundamentally they work in a similar way. And they are governed by seven laws, which unfold and apply to each of these planes. And these seven laws, which were placed in a somewhat
scattered way, in the Hermetic body, in the emerald table, at a certain moment someone came, collected and commented. It is a brilliant and recent book. It is a little over 100 years old, from 1908. It is a book with 109 years. Someone had the brilliance of commenting in a very appropriate way. If you were to take the seven laws of the Kaibarion, you would have half a page of paper. This book, which is not very large, is a commentary of each of these laws. So the proposal is that we can go to the end, understanding
this book a little better. I will always start with this verse, which is a verse that is placed in the introduction. He says, as the poet said, then you go after the poet and you don't find out at all who this poet was. But the fact is that whoever it is, he expressed something very interesting. Oh, do not let the flame go out, kept from century to century in this dark cave, in this sacred temple, supported by pure ministers of love. Do not let this dark cave, in this sacred temple, supported by pure ministers of
love, extinguish this divine flame. Basically, this little stanza, with five verses, is a stanza that deals with the transmission of knowledge. When humanity falls into very obscure periods, do not let knowledge be lost. The future depends on it, you depend on it, and your descendants too. So if you imagine, we talked a lot about this in the first meeting, to have Plato today, means that someone kept this alive for a thousand years. In the Middle Ages, for Aristotle, for many other things, there were some obscure names, we do not know who they were, but we
owe a lot to them. There were people who kept this flame lit, sometimes at the risk of their own lives. Because the Inquisition did not play, did not admit this type of research. Hermeticism was the same thing. It kept alive, and you know how. Because Hermeticism was still considered ... Everything that referred to Egypt, for a medieval inquisition, was an imperishable thing. It was considered witchcraft and dangerous. So someone kept it very well hidden, so that today we have access. Somehow we are grateful. We are here thanks to these anonymous people. And maybe the future
needs us to be faithful to knowledge, so that it is also grateful to us. Because we know that there, in a way, we live another type of fanaticism. Materialist fanaticism, where everything that is metaphysical is considered superficial, superfluous and indispensable. And maybe if there is no one who considers the value of this flame, we still run the risk that it will go out. We do not go beyond that risk. There are ways and ways to burn a person. Not only through physical fire, through public opinion, through modisms, through a lot of things. So we still
have this duty. Do not let the flame go out. What we are going to transmit here is a little of this flame. Egyptian knowledge. It is said that maybe it was a moment when humanity dominated the secrets of human nature the most. Because of the nature of things, today we dominate more. But if we know the nature of things and do not know the nature of man, man uses things badly. So it was better that maybe he didn't have them. I always give that silly example, but that passes an interesting image. If you are walking
through an abyss, it is better to walk. If you have a Porsche, it arrives faster. But when you go to the abyss, the Porsche is not necessarily a good thing. So things evolve, but man does not evolve. It is very doubtful the usefulness of this type of evolution. So let's go. As I told you, just to recap, this book is very worth having in your head. It is very worth it. Who is interested in one day to venture to read, I don't know, a Helena Blavatsky, for example, that is very worth reading, this book helps
a lot. As a preamble, as a pre-reading. It really gives some bases that you will understand better the thinking of a Helena Blavatsky and many other philosophers. Our microphone is more hermetic than Egypt. But with a lot of faith we will get there. So this book deals with the teaching of hermetic philosophy of ancient Egypt and Greece. Today's chapter is 2, where he will make a general overview of these seven laws. He will show the seven laws. But then he will take one by one and treat one in each chapter, in a deeper way. As
you know, I already did a lecture about Kybalion. It's not on YouTube. But one hour to talk about the whole book. There were really certain things that are painful for you to cut. There are certain books, I really like study techniques, I really like to summarize, but there are certain books whose summary is painful. Anything you cut is committing a sin. And this is one of them. So I got this idea. This book has to be addressed again. Piece by piece. That's what I'm proposing to do here. But this second chapter is a general overview
of what will be seen later. But anyway, it is very important that we understand the idea. It is essential for us to enter this book with the necessary posture to understand it. So Kybalion begins by saying the following. The principles of truth are seven. The one who knows them perfectly has the magic key with which all the doors of the temple can be opened completely. I put an Egyptian temple there, since we are talking about an Egyptian sage. But don't imagine that he is talking about a religious temple. Temple, which after the origin of the
Latin word templum, represented the manifested universe. They said that the universe is entirely sacred. Because it is sacred by nature. It is necessary that the human conscience recognizes it. So the search is to open the keys of life, and not a specific religious space. The seven planes, as he said, the principles of truth are seven, and open the seven doors of the temple. As I told you, several traditions throughout history considered that the universe was a septuagenarian. The universe, in all its planes, from an atom to a galaxy, would have a physical plane, an energetic,
emotional, inferior, superior, intuitive, and an atom, a principle of will, which is Plato's plane of ideas. It is the highest plane. One thing that is important, fundamental, that we understand, is the word law. To enter the Kybalion, I think it's really better to give up our microphone. To enter the Kybalion, we need to understand what the word law is. Let me tell you something. When we do philosophy, I know some of you already do, philosophy is almost like an alphabetization in a new language. Because our words are very empty. Almost everything we consider, for example,
as justice, is a lot of social conventions, very little of true justice, love is not even spoken, it is one of the most suffered words. The word law is also very suffered. Because it looks like a code written by a certain nation to meet its internal interests, which has nothing to do with another nation. We see nothing transcendent in the word law. However, you will see that certain civilizations considered that law is synonymous with God. They were two very close words. India says that laws are the arm of God and the law is the arm
of God. It is understood that there are laws behind everything. Plato talks about it, we will even comment on it later, that anything in your life that worked out or went wrong, means that you obeyed or transgressed a universal law. And you could see through this thing the law that was obeyed or transgressed. Because taking this law, you can apply it in any other context. That is, the world's phenomena are representations of particular cases of universal laws. Men do not invent laws. They should be bridges between heaven and earth. They should take a universal law
and adapt it to a context, a temporal space. They should not invent laws. When they invent, it means that sometimes they are creating conventions that are contrary to the flow of life. We are tired of seeing disastrous laws in several countries, in several moments of history, which are contrary, sometimes prejudiced, sometimes discriminatory, sometimes absurd. It means that man has created a social convention that puts humanity in the opposite hand of nature. Obviously there will be accidents, there will be shocks. So what Hermes Trismegistus is trying to say when he talks about laws is the skeleton
of the universe. If you understand, you will be able to understand much better, the external anatomy of this same universe. If you took this skeleton, what is behind it? And every time something happens to you and you can find out what was the principle that was used there, it is a lesson in life that was assimilated. If you could not get what principle that was used or transgressed there, it is a lesson that will have to be repeated. So what he intends is to take man through life, to see through life what is behind, in
the corridors of life. And this skeleton of the universe is the manifestation of the Uno itself. What he calls the whole. A manifestation of God himself. So understanding the laws of the universe is understanding God himself. And gives a predictability of the causes that you will generate and the effects that will come as a consequence. That is, you move around the world in an intelligent way. Just like when you know the laws of a highway. You can move in an intelligent and safe way. Because you know what can appear. You know where it will go.
We move around with our eyes sealed in the world. Without knowing your laws. And many times we cause accidents. Which are the pains, are a lot of elements that often make us suffer. It means, we run over laws. So this is the idea of the seven laws. As I told you, let's visualize them all in a very superficial way. Do not forget that I did not understand it right. It was very fast. The idea is this. Today is just a menu of options. Just so you can see what comes next. But you can not address
it. We will work with each of them separately. The first law of Hermes Trismegistus is the principle of mentalism. The whole is mind. The universe is mental. The universe is a mental creation subject to laws. We live in the mind of the whole. See, because we are all in the same mind, Plato spoke something very similar. He said what we call theory of ideas. That everything is born in the subtle plane. And then it comes to the concrete plane. We usually talk a lot about this in our course of philosophy. The waitress who builds a
table, first has to think about it. There is no way for him to go out and step on the wood and fix it anyway. And by chance he made a table. This does not exist. Things are born in the mental plane and go through the planes. They go through the emotional, it becomes a taste. They are an action. It passes through the concrete and a object is born. So the table was born. It makes this transit from the mental plane to the concrete plane. This is how it is said, for example, of psychosomatic diseases. They
are born in the mental plane. They go through the whole path and soon they arrive in your physical plane. So much so that it is said that if a man does not know what is behind the diseases, it is not very useful to cure only the physical. It is a palliative. That mental cause will go through somewhere else. Traditional medicine, in the West, talked about it. In some places it still speaks. But, notice well, Plato says things come from the mental plane to the concrete plane. What Hermes Trismegistus is saying is much more than that.
Egypt is not a joke. Because he is saying they are not going to any place. Everything is mind. The rest is fantasy. Things exist within the creator's mind. The manifested universe is a game of light and shadows, with a stage set up within the creator's mind. All the plans that seem very dense to us are illusions. So much so that they come and go. They arise and cease to exist. The only explanation for things to disappear in front of us, the way they disappear, is that they are not real. They are mental forms that obey
the laws in their flow. But they are mental forms. And he will explain this very well in the chapter where he will deal with the principle of mentalism. The only thing that explains the universe in the way it is, is to say that things are mental forms of God. They are mental forms of the whole. They do not have reality. Science itself today begins to mess with this. But things seem to be concentration fields. They are not concrete things as we imagine. Energy fields. It seems that there is nothing as concrete as we imagine. In
a way, we begin to approach this idea. Because things are not real. Things are subtle creations that do not have a reality in the way we think. That is why we always keep the perplexity in front of death. Human beings, no matter how much we study, think, it is very scary that a person who is in front of you, with ideas, with dreams, with deep perceptions, suddenly, poof, turns and nothing. Where did she go? Then you look there, there is her house, she is not there anymore. Death is an absurd thing from a logical point
of view. And there is no way to explain that she came from the combination of all these things. Because we we can not reproduce it. So he says the only thing that explains the phenomena of emergence and disappearance, for example, of human consciousness in the world is the fact that this appearance is a mental form. It is not real. He will explain this very well. And he will show that the only thing we can do is see the law that manifests itself through these things. Because we keep your spirit. That is the way we will
lose. Including this one. It is a loan that at a certain moment we will have to return. If you take the law that expresses itself through this, you have appropriated your essence. That will come back and reflect in the future. But the only real thing is the essence that is behind it. Which, deep down, is a law. But if you believe that something in the plan of the material has importance in itself, it is an illusion. Because they are mental forms, as much as those that pass through your head. But more lasting because they are
mental forms of everything. And we will see the way he explains it. It is sensational. He will show, by a logical reasoning, that the material nature would not be able to have the behavior it has if it were real. It has a behavior of mental form. That arises and disappears before our eyes and makes us perplexed. The phenomenon of time itself makes us perplexed. Suddenly you look at things that seemed very real. An identity that you thought you had no longer exists. A face that you thought you had in the mirror no longer exists. Everything
is very temporary. Time takes things away in such a way that if you have something that is beyond time, you have nothing. It is curious, isn't it? Because sometimes we look at people you find on the street, or at your college colleague, and think that they are thinking the same thing about us. We don't look at ourselves in the mirror and don't see that our body is not the same thing. Everything has changed. If everything changes, what remains? We live, we wake up and sleep with a mystery, as Helena Blavatsky says. The mystery of the
identity of things. That something must remain. This principle of mentalism says that the whole manifested universe is a mental form within the mind of God. Within the mind of God. He gives this example of the glass, the mirror and the air. He says that the mirror is the psychic plane of man. Mind, inferior, and emotions. The glass is the physical body and the air inside is the spirit. There is a time when the mirror pulls out and the air returns to its plane and all this is destroyed. The psyche makes a little of your essence
stuck, tied to this amount of matter. But it is a temporary phenomenon. This mirror is a virtual reality. It will leave because it is not part of the glass. One day it will be pulled out. It will disassociate and the glass will disassociate. The air will remain. And it will inhabit other glasses again. But you are not this envelope, this packaging. So much so that you will have to return it to the owner. This will return to those who belong to the right, which is nature. He also uses this example of tin. He says that
tin is a very useful metal. When it approaches heat, it gets liquidified. When it approaches cold, it gets solid. He says that our essence is like this. When it approaches the spiritual plane, it becomes abstract, metaphysical. When it approaches the material, it becomes dense. But in fact, it is just a passing appearance. So, this is the first principle. The most well-known, the principle of mentalism. The second is the principle of correspondence. Sorry for the hurry, but we have to go through all of them today. The second principle is the principle of correspondence. The principle of
correspondence says the following. What is above is like what is below. And what is below is like what is above. That is, God made man in his image and likeness. Image and likeness. He will reinforce this a lot. What is there in the spiritual plane is analogous to what is in the mental plane, to what is in the emotional plane, to what is in the physical plane. It is not identical, it is analogous. The three are similar, they are practically the same in all planes. It is not identical. Compare it with the body. The mouth
in this plane, at this height, is equivalent to the stomach in this. Because it is a continuity of the digestive system. But they are not identical. They have the same function of digesting food in different levels. So if you distrust at a certain moment that the way you drive your car is similar to the way you drive your life, you are not crazy, you are using the principle of correspondence. The way you tidy your closet is similar to the way you tidy your ideas. You are not crazy, you are using the principle of correspondence. One
of the great difficulties I have when I give a course of oratory I never gave it again, but I used to do it a lot, was to convince the people who wanted to speak well that they should tidy their closet. Because there was no way to teach the principle of correspondence in a course of oratory. And the people did not see the similarity of these things. They are all similar, in different planes. So what will happen? When we realize that the material, mental and spiritual plane are similar, when you move in one plane, you generate
a tendency in another. So when you see, for example, that great schools of philosophy in the past were very focused on order and beauty, it is not because Plato was meticulous and wanted an organized house. It is because he wanted the thoughts of his disciples like this, he wanted the feelings of his disciples like this. And he knew that there was an invitation to order when you created an organized environment. And he knew very well that a person who has an organized mind tends to create an organized life. That is, he organizes time and space,
a productive life. That is, he knew the similarity of planes. And those who know can maneuver in a plane to try to generate a tendency to correct everyone else. This was called hermetic magic. As I told you in the first lecture, in medieval alchemy, what they did was hermeticism. They worked a lot with it. They moved in a plane to be able to move others by similarity. As an act of consciousness, to move everyone else by similarity. So if you take, for example, I used the example of geometry, of a stone that is on your
feet, on the ground, it has something similar to the order of a star that has been there for thousands of light years. Geometry gives you data that apply to all the planes of the universe. It is similar. So what the hermeticists sought was to know laws that, being applied in a plane, could generate tendencies to perfection in everyone else. That is, the principle of correspondence shows that the universe moves in an equivalent way. In all planes. So it is very likely that a wise person leaves beauty wherever it passes. There is a tendency to this.
To leave a space more and more orderly, in the sense not of rich, but of harmonious. Because today, when we talk about order, we think of luxury and not harmony. A wise person is likely to leave harmony wherever he passes. In all planes, as a trace. By your works I will know you, as the Christian tradition said. Continuing, we have the third principle. The principle of vibration. Nothing is stopped. Everything moves. Everything vibrates. This principle will say that the entire universe has as its most internal and deepest characteristic vibration. If you take the denser matter,
more concrete and the most subtle spirit, the difference is vibrational. Imagine the noise of a motorcycle turning the key. It starts. It disappears. You know that it continued in an auditory spectrum that you don't cover anymore. But the vibration continued. The universe is like this. There is a level of vibration that is in a plane that we perceive. It goes subtle until the moment that our senses do not perceive. But it continues vibrating. When you accelerate the dense matter, it goes subtle, subtle, subtle, passing through levels of the sea, until the pure spirit arrives. So,
if you, for example, confronted a great philosopher of the past, and he asked you where you are, it was no use giving your name, address, CEP, the height of the street, near what, he wanted to say at what level vibrational you were. Because he says that this is the most intimate identity of man. Do you understand that? When, for example, an Indian pronounced a mantra, not today, because this knowledge is no longer available, if there is something that is globalized, it is materialism. Man no longer has in any place in the world, do not think
that this is only a decadence of the West, a knowledge of this depth. But back in those classical times, it is said that the mantra was a vibration that was equivalent to the name of a divine being. So, pronouncing the mantra was like touching this being, pulling it to be. This they called the internal name. Each of us has an internal name, which is the internal level in which you vibrate. And you came to the world to go from this level to a more subtle level. That's when you will see the concern, for example, that
Plato had with music. He said, I know the quality of a state by the music that the government gives to its people. Discard comments, do not make jokes, everyone thinks the same thing. Because music is a vibrational invitation. So, if you, for example, educate the taste of a child to listen to a music that elevates consciousness, it is invited to elevate its vibration to this level. It is said that in a traditional civilization it should be done. Sri Ram, who is a philosopher and I recently talked a lot about him to you, we did a
reading group of a book of his, he said, evolution is nothing more than the depuration of taste. So, if you elevate the taste to nobility, to harmony, it is an invitation to elevate your vibration to this plane. It generates affinity. Do not think about all taste, vulgar and coarse, it is not impure. At some point your consciousness will vibrate in that plane when you relate to someone, when you drive in traffic, when you manage some personal, financial situation, whatever it is, this vulgarity will pull you to this plane in other situations in life. Because all
life is vibration. It's not just the music you listen to. So, the concern in making the man change his interest, elevate your vibration to something more subtle. Because the universe is a vibratory pattern. Heraclitus, in Greek philosophy, already said, everything vibrates, everything moves, no one bathes in a river twice, because the river is no longer the same, you are not the same, everything is vibrating, and everything is looking for a higher degree of vibration. This is evolution, this is development. Development comes from unrolling. It was the Egyptian papers that opened to see what it contained.
We have to accelerate our vibration and accelerate the vibration is like opening this roll of paper to see what it contains, to see who we are, to see our true identity. So, evolving is accelerating. Identity is your vibratory address. Your identity is your vibratory address. Roger Scruton, who is a modern philosopher, he is alive today, very interesting, he says, those who care about the future of humanity should recover the value of art as education of human consciousness. The true art has this capacity, it is very interesting, especially music. It pulls you to a much higher
vibratory pattern and tends to elevate the rest of the roll. That's why it would be interesting to use it for children who are older. Well, continuing, the fourth principle, which is the principle of polarity, will say the following, in general lines, very general lines, then we will make applications of more practical, this is our life, everything is double, everything has its poles, everything has its opposite. The equal and the unequal are the same. The opposites are identical in nature, but different in degree. The extremes touch each other. All truths are half truths. All paradoxes can
be reconciled. Simple thing, right? What is he trying to say with this? I put a thermometer there so you can understand. If I tell you, it's 5 degrees, wow, it's cold in Brazil, it's unthinkable for us. It's 45 degrees, wow, it's hot! But you realize that this is a relative convention, cold and heat are variants of the same thing, which is temperature. A person from Iceland may find 5 degrees in the weather even amenable. Where is it in the thermometer that the cold begins and the heat ends? Can anyone tell me? It does not exist!
It is a relative convention, generally compared to the temperature of our own body. But it does not exist, they are variants of the same thing, which is temperature. And when the climate changes, in summer, for example, when the weather changes, the summers are not as hot. In other words, these temperature gradients are convertible to each other. Then he will say that it is not only the temperature, everything, I can not, for example, convert the heat into the soft, but I can convert the soft into the resistant, the heat into the cold. If you find out
what the nature of things is, you can change their polarity. You can take it to another pole, which is what he will say here. A dual universe. The poles are extreme of the same, without borders. Mental alchemy worked not with temperature, but with mental forms, with emotions, with the human psyche. That is, a feeling, up there, a fraternal feeling, down there, a useless selfishness. Well, I can not give a warm up in this feeling, transmute it from one pole to another, I say you can. If you learn to work with the principle of polarity, you
can reverse one pole to the other, as much as it is the same thing. They called it emotional alchemy, mental alchemy. You can transform the feelings. If you have some feeling, it can be sublimated. It can be accelerated. It can be taken to the best of feelings. If you have some thought, it can be sublimated. If you have some abstract thought, it can be taken to the plane of ideas. Because inside you there is a whole gradient. What you need is to accelerate the vibration. Alchemy worked teaching this. How to warm up the human feeling,
how to warm up, sublimate the human thought. How to reverse polarities. Because you have one, and in potential you can have the other. They are actually variations of the same thing. They are not opposites. Then he will talk about the principle of rhythm. Fifth principle. Everything has its flux and reflux. Everything has its narese. Everything goes up and down. Everything manifests itself by compensated oscillations. The measure of the movement to the right is the measure of the movement to the left. The rhythm is the compensation. Does this remind you of any physical principle for you?
Isaac Newton said that every action generates a reaction of equal intensity in the opposite direction. But it happens that Ernest Hermes Jesus lived 2600 years before Christ. In other words, in a certain way we rediscovered things that we already knew. We updated. I'm trying to diminish Newton, who is a sensational thinker, far from me, including a philosopher. Everything has its reflux. Everything has its flux. This principle of polarity is illustrated by the pendulum. If you pull it here and let go, naturally, this amount that came here will tend to go there. This is the principle
of polarity. It says that in all things beings are looking for a center, which is identity. There is a center of human mental behavior. It would be a person concentrated, directed his thought to what he needs, with the ability to reflect about higher things, and not just banalities. This is a center. When we deviate a lot to one side, that is, today I thought a lot about banal things from the selfish point of view. When I let go, I tend to go to an extreme equivalent to the other side. To partial things, to any other
kind of banality. The deviation generates deviation. It is an equivalent gradient. My grandmother used to say, of course I would not close a lecture without talking about my grandmother, that would be a capital sin against the ancestors. My grandmother used to say, day of much laughter, the eve of little laughter. I did not understand, I was small, what she meant by that. But it is true, a gradient of much euphoria on one side generates a gradient of depression on the other. If you want to look for the center, on the next day, much drinking, much
relapse. Little drinking, little relapse. The balance, which is the center, has nothing to do with these excesses. So the idea would be that man would seek the human center, in all planes, emotional balance, high feelings, mental balance, noble thoughts, deep thoughts, a deep understanding of things, to avoid excesses. And how does he do that? We will talk about it when we get to this chapter, about another principle, which is the principle of neutralization. Are you seeing this square full of dots here on the screen? This is the Pythagorean Decade or the Pythagorean Detracts. You will
say, what does it have to do with this? Pythagoras is pre-Socratic, it is in Greece, but it has to do with it. In fact, Greece is very influenced by Egypt and there are a thousand ways to interpret this example of Pythagoras. A thousand ways. So imagine two dots of those that are down there. Those two dots at the base are two children fighting for a teddy bear. This example is classic. I haven't found a better one. Two children fighting for a teddy bear and you want to solve the fight. What is the fundamental condition for
you to solve this fight? That you don't want the teddy bear. Because if you want the teddy bear, you will be a third child fighting for the teddy bear. You will increase the conflict, you will not solve it. So if you are on a level above, here, a little point of another level, you have other desires, other aspirations, you can reconcile the conflict of those children. You will come to them and say, play one now, the other one in a little while, lend one to the other, divide, and you can harmonize, because there is no
desire. Now, you went up to a level where you neutralized the duality down here. Your level will have another type of duality. So I am an adult who does not want the teddy bear anymore. But my neighbor bought a car much newer than mine. Or anything equivalent, it has a very good cargo. That is, I would establish a duality on my level, I will not be jealous of the neighbor. Then someone with a little more sense comes and says to me, your life is not worth it for the car you have, you need other things,
this person is on another level. He neutralized this, if I heard it. If I hear it, she can neutralize me. But this person is very wise, it may be that he has a great vanity for his wisdom. Then someone more wise appears than he. He establishes a duality in his plan. Until conciliating, neutralizing, detaching, accelerating your vibrations, you will reach the apex of the pyramid. You will reach a point that is the UNO. It is the whole. The divine consciousness. That has no dualities. Detaching and vibrating at levels that are more subtle, more human. Values,
virtues, wisdom. You will overcome duality and duality rising. There is only one way to overcome the conflicts. If the conflicts are catching you, it is because you are at the same level as them. Passing to the top floor. There is only one way to escape the polarity. You will not make the children stop wanting the teddy bear. It is a law of nature. You have to stop being a child. There is only one way. So you will neutralize, raising consciousness. You neutralize the conflicts in this plane. Pass to another. This other will also have conflicts.
Until you reach a point that is above duality. From the UNO. Which is the wise. The wise already has a conscience that no longer has polarities. Then there is no more conflict. Until we reach the apex of the human condition, conflict. Duality, polarity. Continuing. The sixth principle. Principle of cause and effect. Those who do not have karma, in India they call it the law of karma. All cause has its effect and all effect has its cause. Everything happens according to the law. The accident is simply a name given to an unrecognized law. There are many
plans of causality. But nothing escapes the law. But nothing escapes the law. That is, what you can do is be aware of the causes that you will generate so that the effect is consistent with what you want. But once you let go, the object will fall. If you do not want the body to break, do not let go. Know the cause and effect. And work with causes, in general in more subtle plans, whose effects are more favorable to you. But do not think that you will dribble the law of cause and effect. Which is one
of the curious things that our education does today with children and young people. Without generating any cause, any merit, they have the right to all the privileges they want. They do not understand the law of cause and effect. And they think that they will be treated like this for the rest of their lives. Without generating cause, they will have the right to all the effects. Someone paid the karmic bill for them and misadjusted the law of nature. Then what will happen? They will have effects of their own laziness, of their own inertia, of their own
weakness. And not of what they would like. This generates misadjustments that, sometimes, throughout life, do not recover. And educating is integrating the human being in the laws of nature. And sometimes, because of a poorly interpreted love, or lived in a wrong way, we misadjust our children and our young people to the laws of nature. So this is the principle of causality. He will say, there is no causality. Everything has a cause. What may happen is that you do not recognize it. But one of the fundamental elements of life is to join the ends of life.
Know at what moment you generated the cause whose effect you are living now. Because that way you will be able to justify your past. You give meaning to time. When you remember the moment when you generated the need of this experience you are living now. Join the two ends. He will say, the superior planes dominate the inferior ones. The masses are manipulated by circumstances. But the wise, from above, dominate genius, character, heredity and culture. So there are causes and effects of a very physical plane. When you join the principle of cause and effect with the
principle of neutrality, you escape the cause and effect of this plane going to a higher plane. So I am a person who loves fraternity. This will make me overcome, for example, my stubbornness. But I am a Capricornian. Capricorn is stubborn. But the Capricorn is there in the physical plane. And my idealism is there in the mental and emotional plane. He imposes himself on it. With or without stubbornness, I find everything good for others. I worked with causality in another plane. So he says, when a man is very unconscious, he becomes like a ball of clay,
a mass of maneuver in the hands of the causalities of the physical plane. So he becomes a fruit of his circumstances. But if he knows that causality can also be used, he starts working with causalities of other planes. So I act by the sense of a fulfilled duty. And I will have an effect, which is the feeling of a fulfilled duty. I act for fraternity. I will have an effect, which is to be at peace with my conscience. But causes and effects in other planes. I will not be like my family, because I received an
heredity. I will not be, by the way, careful. Because in our historical moment there is almost an obsession to analyze personality. And I distrust what it is to transfer the guilt to someone. So I could not be better than I am, because there are ten generations of my family who act this way. Problem of the ten generations! I will not act this way. I could not be better than I am, because my temperament is phlegmatic. Look, Galen, I'm sorry, but he goes with his phlegm to another place, because I will not act this way. I
know these causes. Remember that in ancient astrology it was said that about man the stars tilt, but do not determine. Because man is a being endowed with will. These things do not determine. He feels these things pushing but do not drag him. Professor Jorge Angel Livraga used to say that the difference between a wood floating in a river and a boat made of this same wood, that this second has oars and can navigate against the current. Professor Jorge Angel Livraga was the founder of the New Acropolis. And he said that these oars are the will
of the human. So there are all these determinants. Character, heredity, then the person comes and says that with the father and mother I had, I could not have been better. Then you make that landscape look. Because sometimes his brother is better. With the father and mother. So it is this causality of the physical plane that you submit to it if you want. You can neutralize. Principle of gender. Seventh principle. Gender is in everything. Everything has its principle male and female. Gender manifests itself in all planes. I put here for you two little plants. Androxel and
Gyneseu. The male and the female in the plant plane. Male and female in the cosmic plane. Yin and Yang. In the plane of an electron. The electrons, protons and neutrons. The positive and the negative. The whole universe generates from the combination of these poles. The principle of gender is the most of a deflection of the polarity principle. They are poles that combined, remember Yin and Yang? They rotate, make the Tao and become a wheel. They rotate. Everything that is created in the universe comes from the combination of these two. It has nothing to do with
sex. All beings have inside themselves the male and female. You will see that there is a chapter of this book that is about the mental gender. It says that you only have your own ideas when you have the male and the female in mind. Because otherwise you just go out creating. Have you ever seen that cuckoo nest? The cuckoo bird that puts its egg in the nest of another bird? You start creating the cuckoo egg. Someone comes and puts an idea in your head and you create it. But it was not yours. So you have
to have the male and female in the emotional plane to be the owner of your feelings. In the mental plane, to be the owner of your thoughts. To create them from seed to fruit. So, in fact, the principle of gender has nothing to do with sex. He will say that it applies in the physical plane, in the mental plane and in the spiritual plane. In the physical plane, yes, it is to generate new bodies. In the mental plane it is to regenerate. And in the spiritual plane it is to create. So when someone rises there,
I don't know, when Isaac Newton, since we were talking about him, the apple falls on his head, the apple falls on everyone's head since there is an apple and there is a world. But who is able to capture the law behind this fact and generate a mathematical theorem? It is someone who took himself to the plane of ideas and brought it as an idea to the material plane. That is, he was a pontiff. Then you will say, no, but this is the mental plane. It is not the mental plane, because the mental plane is organized
through logic. It is deductive and not creative. See if you are not understanding what I am saying. Logic. Classic example of logic. Every man is mortal. Socrates is a man. So, Socrates is mortal. Did you come to a very new conclusion? No, you just unfolded what was there at the beginning. If everyone just used logic to mental, no one invented anything new. You do not deduce Newton's thinking from Copernicus's thinking. Neither Einstein's thinking from Newton's thinking. It is not a logical unfoldment, it has risen to an intuitive plane. He saw something. Then it unfolded in
the mental plane and in the physical plane. So if you do not have the ability to raise consciousness to this plane, this plane of ideas, this spiritual plane, nothing new is created. The great inventors, whether from the artistic, scientific area, had access, had intuition, saw something beyond the mind. Then the mind explained to the world. So the spirit creates, the mind regenerates and the physical body generates. In any case, the universe moves when there is the combination of these two poles. In all planes. The need to have a seed and then the creation, the development
of life around this seed. The need for the male and female pole. In all planes. No creation occurs without it. He will say, be careful, because this Egyptian principle is often decoded as a sexual principle. And there are those who think that there is some magic in the mere sexual act and there is a series of developments around it that he speaks very hard in the book. Be careful with practices that think that some power will be developed through sexual practices. Which in general are confusions. But interpretations. The principle of gender is talking about the
fertilizing element and the element that develops life in all planes within us. And not sexual practices. And all life is born like this. Well, and finally, but not less important, which makes us understand this idea of these laws. That Platonic principle that I told you at the beginning. In everything that prosper or fails, there is obedience or disobedience or the infraction of some law of nature. In everything that works, you can learn a law that applies to any other situation. In everything that fails too. I brought you a phrase that is a phrase from medieval
alchemy. The alchemists, who were actually hermeticists, studied the knowledge of Hermes Trismegistus. They did not want to turn lead into gold. They wanted to turn ignorant men into wise men. The man of lead into the man of gold. This was merely a facade to escape the inquisition. They sought a kind of philosophical stone. It was said that the philosophical stone is something that, if it were synthesized, anything it touched helped it to accelerate. So, whoever had the philosophical stone, for example, could turn lead into gold. It was an excellent business. Better than any business in
the capital market is to have a philosopher's stone. I wanted to make a series of images that for me are more symbols than reality itself. They said it was a red stone. What do you think the philosophical stone is? The philosophical stone is philosophy itself. Love for wisdom. It runs after laws. Behind everything. They said, everyone looks for the philosophical stone. However, it is everywhere. You walk through it on the sidewalks. Children play with it on the streets. And no one sees it. What is the philosophical stone? When you touch things, it helps them to
progress, to develop. These are the laws that you can perceive through anything. And when you perceive a law, you can apply it to any other plane. I bring you some examples. A philosopher tends to seek these laws. It is of the philosophical nature. You must remember that phrase from Confucianism. The vulgar man speaks of people. The average man speaks of things. The superior man speaks of ideas. It is a philosophical need to seek ideas, laws, the truth behind things apparently arbitrary. Remove the arbitrariness of life and find a meaning for the things you are living.
This is the thirst to find the meaning of life. This is the thirst for wisdom. This is philosophy. You see the boy playing on the street with a wheelbarrow. Or any toy wheel. Today wheelbarrows are not used anymore. They are out of fashion. You can look at it and see that wheel, that wheelbarrows spinning. And you can see why a wheel is such an efficient way to move. Perhaps the greatest invention of man after the discovery of how to produce fire is the wheel. Why is the wheel so efficient? Because the wheel is a circle.
The wheel is equidistant from the center. This is the geometric definition of a circle. The wheel has a lot of speed. Imagine if I had a center of principles, of values, and all the points of my life were the same distance from it. That is, I am fair. I am fair in my job, in my relationship with my wife, with my husband, with my son. I am fair in traffic. I am fair in all places, in all elements of my life. They are the same distance from this principle. None of them is further away or
closer. I do not attend my life in a different way. Everything is spinning around a spiritual center. If I were like that, wouldn't my life spin? Wouldn't my life be stuck because it is not a wheel? There are things I attend better and others worse. If you take that out of the boy's wheelbarrow, the boy's wheelbarrow made you a person who maybe becomes a little more harmonious, a little more human. If you look at this example of the chair, I find it interesting, because any object that is very efficient has a law. The chair has
four legs, which is stability, balance, and on top of that, a shell, which is generosity, receptivity, to shelter the one who is tired. If it is an object that is so efficient, it means that joining balance with generosity is a thing that works. If I did it in my life, wouldn't it work? If I were a balanced and generous person, wouldn't I be able to help many? How does the chair help? Does it give a moment of rest to many? If you look at a chair and see the laws that were manifested and made it
work, you can leave the chair a better human being, because the chair will cease to exist, but the law that generated it, no. The most efficient method for you to leave one level and reach the other, is the ladder. What is the ladder? The impulse, the grip, and the harmonization. I impulse and harmonize in that new conquered level. And if I were a person who had a grip, but at the same time was harmonious, wouldn't I leave one level and go to another? If I had the will to expand, to open my hand to that,
which is the vertical vector, but at the same time the capacity to harmonize everything I conquer with my world, integrate all things in my world, wouldn't I leave that level and reach another? I saw a law through the ladder. And that allows me that through the ladder I become a better human being. Because if it is something that worked for so many millennia, it is because it embodies a law. It is the law of nature. And much more. I put the vineyard, because I think it is interesting. I don't like wine, but once I saw
a program on TV that showed a European vineyard, one of those traditional ones. The citizen takes care of all the chickens of a little grape foot. He only leaves the one that is up there. So that the vine can travel to the top of the plant. And by making this effort, this trip, it generates up there the most ripened fruit. They don't leave a foot full of chickens, full of grapes, because the grape is vulgar. They are repairing all the inferior, for all your energy, for what has more elevated and produce the more ripened grape.
Hey, isn't that for me? To prune all the inferior for my vital energy to generate very noble fruits? Up there! Don't waste time with bullshit! Take my vital energy up there! Even though I don't like wine, I can't learn from it? I can! Do you know what you are doing there? Hermeticism! You are being a philosopher! Welcome to the philosophical world! That's how it works! You go through things and see God, see laws. If you apply it to anything in your life, it works the same way. This makes you learn from life. By finding the
essence of things, I approach to find my own essence and vice versa. By finding a little of my essence, I go deeper into the essence of things. And I see through, discovering ideas. It is very common to find people and see them talking about ideas. I was in Rio de Janeiro this weekend and I found it very interesting because there was a little square near where I was. Afonso Pena Square, in Tijuca, for those who know it, beautiful. In the morning, some old people came from a practice of work gymnastics and they said the best
thing of my day is this gymnastics time here. It is a commitment I have. I'm already waiting for the next day. It's the best thing I have. I thought it was true. Commitments give us a reason to get out of bed. They give a reason, a north. A person who has no commitment is a detour. Sometimes life takes away from us commitment and we are left without knowing what to do with our vital energy, without good reasons to get up in the morning. But in this same scenario, lying on the grass, there was a group
of teenagers and you know that teenagers, young people, hate commitment. It is a tonic of our current historical moment. You see that on one side there were some elderly people teaching that commitment is one of the best things in life. But they didn't read this message. They couldn't decode it. And they hate commitment. Do you know why? Because we are vital illiterate. The lessons are passing in our head and we don't read them. In the last 70 years, we came to the conclusion that commitment is good. They could learn with 15 years of age, if
they knew how to read. We are vital illiterates. We don't have curiosity to know what life is trying to tell us. And then we don't see the laws. We waste a lot of time with this. We are always against the law because we are against the law. And no one can grow against the law. If we were to be illiterate and see through things, we would realize how much time we would gain. Because anything has a law to teach us. What happens when it is respected or when it is transgressed. And then we would look
at Hermes Trismegistus and say, you are an expert citizen. He knew what he was saying. Life is like that. This book makes sense. And welcome to the philosophical world. The philosopher loves these things. We are here on Monday, from 7 to 8, an hour. You are tired, you worked all day. We like to talk about it. We like to talk about ideas. There are more ideas. I want to understand them. I want to apply them in your life. Enjoy it. It is a school of philosophy. This is our idea for today. I hope it will
be useful for you. Next week we will be here again with the third theme. Then we will start to talk about the mental patterns and how this mental plan works. The first law, the principle of mentalism. See you next week! Some of you have classes now. If anyone wants to ask a question, feel free to ask. I will stay here a little longer. Thank you!
