But it is a compilation and a commentary on the principles of Hermes Trismegistus, the great wise man of Egypt. Great wise man, that there are

people who do not believe that he even existed. But if he existed, he lived at an age that can go from 1500 to 2500 BC. It is a highly casuistic thing. Nobody knows how to say much about him. That is, he is a hermetic, a highly closed tradition. But Hermes Trismegistus, he used to say, among many other surprising things, he said, that within this school, which was a kind of closed monastic school, only for high level disciples, that he knew seven laws. And that these seven laws explained all the phenomena of the seven planes of

nature. Think of something like that, as the Paraíban would say, think of a complicated thing. Because seven laws to explain all the planes of nature, from the physical to the energetic, to the emotional, to the mental, the Indian tradition and many others, say that there are seven. A lower mental, a superior mental, an intuitive and the plane of essences, the plane of will. And fundamentally they work in a similar way. And they are governed by seven laws, which unfold and apply to each of these planes. And these seven laws, which were placed in a somewhat

scattered way, in the Hermetic body, in the emerald table, at a certain moment someone came, collected and commented. It is a brilliant and recent book. It is a little over 100 years old, from 1908. It is a book with 109 years. Someone had the brilliance of commenting in a very appropriate way. If you were to take the seven laws of the Kaibarion, you would have half a page of paper. This book, which is not very large, is a commentary of each of these laws. So the proposal is that we can go to the end, understanding

this book a little better. I will always start with this verse, which is a verse that is placed in the introduction. He says, as the poet said, then you go after the poet and you don't find out at all who this poet was. But the fact is that whoever it is, he expressed something very interesting. Oh, do not let the flame go out, kept from century to century in this dark cave, in this sacred temple, supported by pure ministers of love. In the Middle Ages, for Aristotle, for many other things, there were some obscure names, we do not know who they were, but we

owe a lot to them. There were people who kept this flame lit, sometimes at the risk of their own lives. Because the Inquisition did not play, did not admit this type of research. Hermeticism was the same thing. It kept alive, and you know how. Because Hermeticism was still considered ... Everything that referred to Egypt, for a medieval inquisition, was an imperishable thing. It was considered witchcraft and dangerous. So someone kept it very well hidden, so that today we have access. Somehow we are grateful. We are here thanks to these anonymous people. And maybe the future

needs us to be faithful to knowledge, so that it is also grateful to us. Because we know that there, in a way, we live another type of fanaticism. Materialist fanaticism, where everything that is metaphysical is considered superficial, superfluous and indispensable. And maybe if there is no one who considers the value of this flame, we still run the risk that it will go out. We do not go beyond that risk. There are ways and ways to burn a person. Not only through physical fire, through public opinion, through modisms, through a lot of things. So we still

have this duty. Do not let the flame go out. What we are going to transmit here is a little of this flame. Egyptian knowledge. It is said that maybe it was a moment when humanity dominated the secrets of human nature the most. Because of the nature of things, today we dominate more. But if we know the nature of things and do not know the nature of man, man uses things badly. So it was better that maybe he didn't have them. Our microphone is more hermetic than Egypt. But with a lot of faith we will get there. So this book deals with the teaching of hermetic philosophy of ancient Egypt and Greece. of what will be seen later. But anyway, it is very important that we understand the idea. It is essential for us to enter this book with the necessary posture to understand it. So Kybalion begins by saying the following. The principles of truth are seven. The one who knows them perfectly has the magic key with which all the doors of the temple can be opened completely. I put an Egyptian temple there, since we are talking about an Egyptian sage. But don't imagine that he is talking about a religious temple. Temple, which after the origin of the

Latin word templum, represented the manifested universe. They said that the universe is entirely sacred. Because it is sacred by nature. It is necessary that the human conscience recognizes it. So the search is to open the keys of life, and not a specific religious space. The seven planes, as he said, the principles of truth are seven, and open the seven doors of the temple. As I told you, several traditions throughout history considered that the universe was a septuagenarian. The universe, in all its planes, from an atom to a galaxy, would have a physical plane, an energetic,

emotional, inferior, superior, intuitive, and an atom, a principle of will, which is Plato's plane of ideas. It is the highest plane. One thing that is important, fundamental, that we understand, is the word law. To enter the Kybalion, I think it's really better to give up our microphone. To enter the Kybalion, we need to understand what the word law is. Let me tell you something. When we do philosophy, I know some of you already do, philosophy is almost like an alphabetization in a new language. Because our words are very empty. Almost everything we consider, for example,

as justice, is a lot of social conventions, very little of true justice, love is not even spoken, it is one of the most suffered words. The word law is also very suffered. Because it looks like a code written by a certain nation to meet its internal interests, which has nothing to do with another nation. We see nothing transcendent in the word law. However, you will see that certain civilizations considered that law is synonymous with God. They were two very close words. India says that laws are the arm of God and the law is the arm

of God. It is understood that there are laws behind everything. Plato talks about it, we will even comment on it later, that anything in your life that worked out or went wrong, means that you obeyed or transgressed a universal law. And you could see through this thing the law that was obeyed or transgressed. Because taking this law, you can apply it in any other context. That is, the world's phenomena are representations of particular cases of universal laws. Men do not invent laws. They should be bridges between heaven and earth. They should take a universal law

and adapt it to a context, a temporal space. They should not invent laws. When they invent, it means that sometimes they are creating conventions that are contrary to the flow of life. We are tired of seeing disastrous laws in several countries, in several moments of history, which are contrary, sometimes prejudiced, sometimes discriminatory, sometimes absurd. It means that man has created a social convention that puts humanity in the opposite hand of nature. Obviously there will be accidents, there will be shocks. So what Hermes Trismegistus is trying to say when he talks about laws is the skeleton

of the universe. If you understand, you will be able to understand much better, the external anatomy of this same universe. If you took this skeleton, what is behind it? And every time something happens to you and you can find out what was the principle that was used there, it is a lesson in life that was assimilated. If you could not get what principle that was used or transgressed there, it is a lesson that will have to be repeated. So what he intends is to take man through life, to see through life what is behind, in

the corridors of life. And this skeleton of the universe is the manifestation of the Uno itself. What he calls the whole. A manifestation of God himself. So understanding the laws of the universe is understanding God himself. And gives a predictability of the causes that you will generate and the effects that will come as a consequence. That is, you move around the world in an intelligent way. Just like when you know the laws of a highway. You can move in an intelligent and safe way. Because you know what can appear. You know where it will go.

We move around with our eyes sealed in the world. Without knowing your laws. And many times we cause accidents. Which are the pains, are a lot of elements that often make us suffer. It means, we run over laws. So this is the idea of ​​the seven laws. As I told you, let's visualize them all in a very superficial way. Do not forget that I did not understand it right. It was very fast. The idea is this. Today is just a menu of options. Just so you can see what comes next. But you can not address

it. We will work with each of them separately. The first law of Hermes Trismegistus is the principle of mentalism. The whole is mind. The universe is mental. The universe is a mental creation subject to laws. We live in the mind of the whole. See, because we are all in the same mind, Plato spoke something very similar. He said what we call theory of ideas. That everything is born in the subtle plane. And then it comes to the concrete plane. We usually talk a lot about this in our course of philosophy. The waitress who builds a

table, first has to think about it. There is no way for him to go out and step on the wood and fix it anyway. And by chance he made a table. This does not exist. Things are born in the mental plane and go through the planes. They go through the emotional, it becomes a taste. They are an action. It passes through the concrete and a object is born. So the table was born. It makes this transit from the mental plane to the concrete plane. This is how it is said, for example, of psychosomatic diseases. They

are born in the mental plane. They go through the whole path and soon they arrive in your physical plane. So much so that it is said that if a man does not know what is behind the diseases, it is not very useful to cure only the physical. It is a palliative. That mental cause will go through somewhere else. Traditional medicine, in the West, talked about it. In some places it still speaks. But, notice well, Plato says things come from the mental plane to the concrete plane. What Hermes Trismegistus is saying is much more than that.

Egypt is not a joke. Because he is saying they are not going to any place. Everything is mind. The rest is fantasy. Things exist within the creator's mind. The manifested universe is a game of light and shadows, with a stage set up within the creator's mind. All the plans that seem very dense to us are illusions. So much so that they come and go. They arise and cease to exist. The only explanation for things to disappear in front of us, the way they disappear, is that they are not real. They are mental forms that obey

the laws in their flow. But they are mental forms. And he will explain this very well in the chapter where he will deal with the principle of mentalism. The only thing that explains the universe in the way it is, is to say that things are mental forms of God. They are mental forms of the whole. They do not have reality. Science itself today begins to mess with this. But things seem to be concentration fields. They are not concrete things as we imagine. Energy fields. It seems that there is nothing as concrete as we imagine. In

a way, we begin to approach this idea. Because things are not real. Things are subtle creations that do not have a reality in the way we think. That is why we always keep the perplexity in front of death. Human beings, no matter how much we study, think, it is very scary that a person who is in front of you, with ideas, with dreams, with deep perceptions, suddenly, poof, turns and nothing. Where did she go? Then you look there, there is her house, she is not there anymore. Death is an absurd thing from a logical point

of view. And there is no way to explain that she came from the combination of all these things. Because we we can not reproduce it. So he says the only thing that explains the phenomena of emergence and disappearance, for example, of human consciousness in the world is the fact that this appearance is a mental form. It is not real. He will explain this very well. And he will show that the only thing we can do is see the law that manifests itself through these things. Because we keep your spirit. That is the way we will

lose. Including this one. It is a loan that at a certain moment we will have to return. If you take the law that expresses itself through this, you have appropriated your essence. That will come back and reflect in the future. But the only real thing is the essence that is behind it. Which, deep down, is a law. But if you believe that something in the plan of the material has importance in itself, it is an illusion. Because they are mental forms, as much as those that pass through your head. But more lasting because they are

mental forms of everything. And we will see the way he explains it. It is sensational. He will show, by a logical reasoning, that the material nature would not be able to have the behavior it has if it were real. It has a behavior of mental form. That arises and disappears before our eyes and makes us perplexed. The phenomenon of time itself makes us perplexed. Suddenly you look at things that seemed very real. An identity that you thought you had no longer exists. A face that you thought you had in the mirror no longer exists. Everything

is very temporary. Time takes things away in such a way that if you have something that is beyond time, you have nothing. It is curious, isn't it? Because sometimes we look at people you find on the street, or at your college colleague, and think that they are thinking the same thing about us. We don't look at ourselves in the mirror and don't see that our body is not the same thing. Everything has changed. If everything changes, what remains? We live, we wake up and sleep with a mystery, as Helena Blavatsky says. The mystery of the

identity of things. That something must remain. This principle of mentalism says that the whole manifested universe is a mental form within the mind of God. Within the mind of God. He gives this example of the glass, the mirror and the air. He says that the mirror is the psychic plane of man. Mind, inferior, and emotions. The glass is the physical body and the air inside is the spirit. There is a time when the mirror pulls out and the air returns to its plane and all this is destroyed. The psyche makes a little of your essence

stuck, tied to this amount of matter. But it is a temporary phenomenon. This mirror is a virtual reality. It will leave because it is not part of the glass. One day it will be pulled out. It will disassociate and the glass will disassociate. The air will remain. And it will inhabit other glasses again. But you are not this envelope, this packaging. So much so that you will have to return it to the owner. This will return to those who belong to the right, which is nature. He also uses this example of tin. He says that

tin is a very useful metal. When it approaches heat, it gets liquidified. When it approaches cold, it gets solid. He says that our essence is like this. When it approaches the spiritual plane, it becomes abstract, metaphysical. When it approaches the material, it becomes dense. But in fact, it is just a passing appearance. And he knew that there was an invitation to order when you created an organized environment. And he knew very well that a person who has an organized mind tends to create an organized life. That is, he organizes time and space,

a productive life. That is, he knew the similarity of planes. And those who know can maneuver in a plane to try to generate a tendency to correct everyone else. This was called hermetic magic. As I told you in the first lecture, in medieval alchemy, what they did was hermeticism. They worked a lot with it. They moved in a plane to be able to move others by similarity. As an act of consciousness, to move everyone else by similarity. So if you take, for example, I used the example of geometry, of a stone that is on your

feet, on the ground, it has something similar to the order of a star that has been there for thousands of light years. Geometry gives you data that apply to all the planes of the universe. It is similar. So what the hermeticists sought was to know laws that, being applied in a plane, could generate tendencies to perfection in everyone else. That is, the principle of correspondence shows that the universe moves in an equivalent way. In all planes. So it is very likely that a wise person leaves beauty wherever it passes. There is a tendency to this.

To leave a space more and more orderly, in the sense not of rich, but of harmonious. Because today, when we talk about order, we think of luxury and not harmony. A wise person is likely to leave harmony wherever he passes. In all planes, as a trace. By your works I will know you, as the Christian tradition said. Continuing, we have the third principle. The principle of vibration. Nothing is stopped. Everything moves. Everything vibrates. This principle will say that the entire universe has as its most internal and deepest characteristic vibration. If you take the denser matter,

more concrete and the most subtle spirit, the difference is vibrational. Imagine the noise of a motorcycle turning the key. It starts. It disappears. You know that it continued in an auditory spectrum that you don't cover anymore. But the vibration continued. The universe is like this. There is a level of vibration that is in a plane that we perceive. It goes subtle until the moment that our senses do not perceive. But it continues vibrating. Because the universe is a vibratory pattern. work, you can leave the chair a better human being, because the chair will cease to exist, but the law that generated it, no. The most efficient method for you to leave one level and reach the other, is the ladder. What is the ladder? The impulse, the grip, and the harmonization. I impulse and harmonize in that new conquered level. And if I were a person who had a grip, but at the same time was harmonious, wouldn't I leave one level and go to another? If I had the will to expand, to open my hand to that,

which is the vertical vector, but at the same time the capacity to harmonize everything I conquer with my world, integrate all things in my world, wouldn't I leave that level and reach another? I saw a law through the ladder. And that allows me that through the ladder I become a better human being. But in this same scenario, lying on the grass, there was a group

of teenagers and you know that teenagers, young people, hate commitment. It is a tonic of our current historical moment. You see that on one side there were some elderly people teaching that commitment is one of the best things in life. But they didn't read this message. They couldn't decode it. And they hate commitment. Do you know why? Because we are vital illiterate. The lessons are passing in our head and we don't read them. In the last 70 years, we came to the conclusion that commitment is good. They could learn with 15 years of age, if

they knew how to read. We are vital illiterates. We don't have curiosity to know what life is trying to tell us. And then we don't see the laws. We waste a lot of time with this.
