THE ALIEN MOVIES - From Iconic Sci-Fi Horror to Hot Garbage (all movies reviewed)

[Music] hello and welcome to a giant video on all of the alien movies the alien franchise is one of the most iconic sci-fi horror creations of all time if you've ever been to Disney World's Magic Kingdom you might have come across an attraction called stage's Great Escape based on the movie Lilo and Stitch but if you're an old grandpa like I am you might remember a different attraction that stood in the same place extraterrestrial alien Encounter here we are at the terrifying New Alien Encounter have you guys ever been abducted by an alien I have

you have yeah and how was it it was crazy when I was a wee young lad this was my first experience with the alien franchise this attraction made me [ __ ] my pants not literally maybe literally the alien would break out the glass cylinder in the center of the room the lights would go out and You' feel the alien press down in your seat you'd feel its breath on your neck that it uses as many of the senses as we can possibly figure out how to how to use in in an attraction as much

as I like Lilo and Stitch it's a shame that Alien Encounter is gone it's also a shame that I just lied to you how could you lie to me like that this attraction is not based on the alien franchise at all in my memory I could have sworn that the alien in this attraction was a xenomorph and then I saw a picture of what the alien actually looked like and I had my own personal Fruit of the Loom moment whoever is in charge of this simulation just keeps changing [ __ ] and I hate it

the funny part being this ride was initially planned with a xenomorph but they ended up going with a different alien design since then I've seen all of the alien movies and it's become one of my favorite series of all time granted some of the movies are better than others much better than others but each of them is entertaining in their own way I'll only be talking about the main Series titles in this video so no AVP sorry Alien versus Predator fans you're going to have to wait for another [Music] video the first movie simply named

alien was directed by Ry Scott written by Dan oanon and the story is by obannon and Ronald shet these guys also wrote Total Recall let me just say thank you so much for your contribution to the world of sci-fi myself and I'm sure a lot of other people out there love your stories HR Giger was the artist that created the iconic look of the xenomorph and in the original illustrations the creature had eyes but for the movie Giger insisted that the creature have no eyes thus giving the Bleak appearance of a cold and emotionless Beast

that hunts by smell in later installements we get a first-person perspective of the alien and it's pretty clear that they don't hunt only by smell but I agree the big black Dome head is pretty badass this movie stars Siggy weey Tom scarrett John Hurt and Ian Hol this movie's opening credits are iconic it's a simple pan of space with white bars across the screen that slowly spell alien with eerie music in the background we then introduced to the spaceship the Nostromo we're brought down the Sci-Fi hallways and corridors this movie really makes you appreciate amazing

for a very long time it's incredible it's a very important element to show the workplace as a real place we find out that the ship's AI named mother woke up the crew halfway to Earth because they received a transmission of Unknown Origin that they're required to investigate any systematized transmission indicating a possible intelligent origin must be investigated they land on an alien planet but their ship needs to be repaired so some of the crew descend onto the plant's surface and investigate they're even wearing helmets that's what you do right when you step out onto an

alien planet right Ridley Scott that's what you do even if you're almost positive that the air is breathable you wouldn't just walk out without taking some precautionary measures right like that would be that'd be really stupid if people did that Parker plays a prank on Ripley because he doesn't want her micromanaging their work they don't like her for some reason the hell she coming down here you better St the [ __ ] out of I'm not sure why well there is a certain amount of sexism in the film there's definitely some clicks within this crew

some people get along better than others and yeah I think that's pretty realistic the crew that's on the planet's surface finds a massive alien ship their helmet cams are really shitty and have a very difficult time relaying what they see back to the ship it definitely improves the Eerie feel of the movie though they bore the alien craft and the inside of this place is extremely dark with a strange biomechanical interior with walkways that look like they're lined with bone the walls look slick and moist the attention to detail in every frame is astounding giger's

sets were so erotic I mean his big vaginas and penises it's amazing how well the first movie stood the test of time even the Sci-Fi Tech that the characters Ed looks pretty impressive considering this movie came out in 1979 some of the tech stuff is just a bunch of flashing lights with a billion buttons everywhere but at no point does that break immersion I mean just look at the cockpit of a 747 aircraft and tell me it looks any less ridiculous the crew find a dead alien life form that used to Pilot the ship the

signs of death suggest that something burst from its insides let's get hell out of here Kane discovers a large nest of alien eggs it's crazy how realistic they made these eggs look so much work was put into making these eggs look real the fact that this movie is from 1979 is absurd Kane notices that something is moving inside the egg so he peers into it and a face hugger leaps out of him the crew is now faced with a problem dallis and Lambert want to bring Kan inside the ship so he can get the medical

help he needs Ripley reminds them of their quarantine procedure Dallas and Lambert desperate to help their friend implore Ripley to open the ship and Overlook procedure Ripley denies the request but Ash opens the hatch for them anyway when they remove the helmet from cane and the face hugger tightens its tail around Kane's neck it's legitimately horrifying what the hell is that the rest of the crew looks on as Ash and Dallas attempt to remove the face hugger strangely they don't try and remove the tail that's wrapped around his neck first it's a good thing that

didn't try and cut its tail though because they find that the alien's blood is highly corrosive acid that can eat through practically anything and very quickly it was conceptual artist Ron Cobb who came up with the idea that the alien should bleed acid this came about when OB Bandon ran into a wall with the screenplay and how to handle the last half of the movie he needed a good reason why the crew don't just shoot the thing and kill it the acid blood was the idea that solved this problem I said great I said then

they couldn't kill it because then it would its blood would eat a hole in the bulkhead and the ship would lose all of its oxygen I said great eventually they find that the face hugger has mysteriously disappeared there's one low shot of the crew entering the dark room and apprehensively looking around Kane's lifeless body is lying there but the camera doesn't move it just sits there it builds tension incredibly well and then the face hugger drops from the ceiling after further examination it appears to be dead it looks incredibly lifelike the Dead face hugger that

Ash autopsies was made using shellfish oysters and sheep intestines to recreate the internal organs the filming had to be done very quickly because the organic material would go bad very fast under the studio lights the Nostromo is repaired so they lift off into space why are there Christmas lights on the bottom of the ship just it kind of looks like that right and Kane awakens wow so he's not dead very strange they share a meal together and then we get the iconic chest burster scene I forgot how much Kan loves to stick his tongue out

in this scene it's pretty hilarious and then pop the sound of a heartbeat plays in the background as the crew is presented with a bloody infant xenomorph the tiny alien scurries away as the crew looks on in horror the way it runs away is pretty funny but not to the point where it ruins the moment obviously the crew is in shock at this moment I would be too Ridley Scott wanted genuine reactions of shock and disgust and he got that Rel Scott had real animal guts burst out of a mechanical torso which caused the set

to smell horribly as you can imagine the cast reacted with disgust they shot me with an entire blood pellet it was like a jet of blood that hit mine I was so taken a Brett Parker and Ripley use a Tracker to locate the alien but instead they find Jones the cat and they obviously don't want to keep mistak the cat for the alien on the tracker so Brett has to track down the cat this sequence builds suspense so well Jonesy he finds some of the xenomorph shedded skin Brett finds the cat and it hisses at

the xenomorph behind him he turns and the alien attacks him the cat's eyes follow Brett as the alien takes him up towards the ceiling into the air shaft God damn the xenomorph grows fast it's like Dwayne Johnson you know those pictures of Dwayne Johnson when he's like 16 but he looks 42 the room where Bret gets taken out by the xenomorph was a point of contention between Ridley Scott and the producers The Producers didn't understand why there would be water pouring or chains dangling in a ship such as this Scott didn't budge feeling that the

scene needed the extra movement how is it moving I said I don't care where's the water coming from I said condensation I can understand why some people wouldn't like the logic behind the water and the chains but I agree the dripping water and the movement of the chains definitely helps build suspense because as a viewer you're unsure whether or not these chains are moving because of the xenomorph kind of ingenious the crew debriefs about what's to be done about the alien they think that the alien is in the air shaft so Captain Dallas the gigachad

enters the pitch black airshaft with a flamethrower and he's like yeah I'm just going to go and kill it wouldn't be me there's an incredible part when Lambert is pleading with Dallas to leave the area because she can see on the radar that the alien is approaching his position very quickly but from Dallas's perspective there's nothing there oh it's moving right towards you move get out of there want you move it's so good eventually the xenomorph shows itself and all it wanted was a hug not a big deal after this incident tensions grow throughout the

remaining crew they become less agreeable with one another we'll proceed with Dallas's plans no you're out of your mind you got a better idea yes I say that we abandoned the ship God the acting in this movie is perfect the entire runtime everyone is spot on Ripley accesses the mother's supercomputer and finds out that Ash changed the mission objective to get the alien life form to Earth and mark the crew as Expendable the value of this alien life form was far greater than the value of the crew's life according to Ash so Ripley and Ash

get into a scuffle Ash tries to kill Ripley in the weirdest way possible by jamming a rolled up magazine in her mouth what the hell clearly this guy is a synthetic Parker and Lambert show up and they kill Ash wait he is a robot Ash is a goddamn robot oh okay yeah makes sense Ash's death is amazing from an acting and practical effect standpoint they reboot Ash's system so he can talk as a head and he reveals why he admires the xenomorph I admire purity Survivor un encluded by conscience remorse or delusions of morality later

Lambert and Parker are killed in the same scene and it's terrifying the close-ups of the aliens drooling mouth Lambert Paralyzed by fear and then we hear her scream as Ripley rushes through the ship to try and help she realizes that she's too late so she sets the ship to self-destruct Ripley rushes through the dimly lit corridors as the ship's alarm blares and the emergency lights spin the atmosphere that this movie delivers is extraordinary masterful film making it's so good Ripley is faced with the xenomorph so she runs for her life as the music grows in

intensity steam Bellows into the ship as Mother Counts down 29 28 27 Ripley finds her way to the Escape pod with 1 minute until the ship self-destructs she launches into space and then the Nostromo is destroyed the explosion effect in space is pretty impressive for the time in the end Ripley saves Jones we then find out that the xenomorph is in the Escape pod with Ripley oh [ __ ] she's screwed right well thankfully the xenomorph is kind of tired it took a nap in there I guess she quietly enters a space suit buckles herself

in and sings to herself to keep calm [Applause] you star it was soury Weavers idea to sing You Are My Lucky Star rley Scott mentioned how much flak he got from the production team because of how much it cost to get the rights for this song Do you know how expensive you my lucky star is but uh that was it there are so many iconic shots in this final sequence Ripley in her space suit waiting with baited breath for the alien to kill her trying her absolute best to act with haste but also not make

any sudden movements it's so good she's able to blast the xenomorph out of the air lock [Music] it tries to enter the engine of the ship so she turns it on and kills it Ripley records herself as the last survivor of the Nostromo the final shot is of Ripley in cryosleep this is one of the best movies ever made the fact that nothing quite like it existed before the way it builds tension the horrifying atmosphere it creates the design itself of the xenomorph is ingenious if you could redo a moment or a scene for the

original film with the technology that you had for Covenant what is a moment that you'd like to just maybe just Tinker around with from the original alien yes sir but wouldn't you wouldn't it's perfect with that let's talk about Al aliens was released in 1986 the movie was directed and the screenplay was written by James Cameron the story was written by James David gerer and Walter Hill so yeah James Cameron put a lot of work into this one it stars Siggy weey I'll stop doing that I'm sorry it stars Sigourney Weaver Michael Bean Michael Bean

Paul Riser Bill Paxton Lance henriksson and Carrie Hen Sigourney Weaver had initially been very hesitant to reprise her role as Ripley Sigourney was wary she wondered who are these kids who want to make the the sequel to a to a film that she was rightfully very proud of she had rejected numerous offers from Fox Studios to do any sequels fearing that her character would be poorly written and a subpar sequel could hurt the legacy of alien I mean perhaps she changed her mind when there is positive reception for this movie that being said I don't

think the bad Alien movies tarnish the reputation of alien the first movie will always be amazing nothing will change that and Aliens is also a very good movie The Story picks up where the first film left off Ripley is in cryosleep and her Escape pod is boarded by an Android and then some men from a different ship the grappling gun Ripley used at the end of alien is briefly visible while the Escape pod door is being cut open it's still stuck at the bottom of the Escape pod door where the gun jammed 57 years earlier

I really appreciate this attention to detail she's found in cry sleep with Jones the cat but didn't she put the cat in a different pod [Music] Ripley awakens and the nurse tells her that she was brought to a ship called Gateway station she's told that she has been floating in space for 57 years before they found her she then has a panic attack watches as a chest burster emerges from her insides she dies and then we meet the new crew so yeah rip Ripley I guess just kidding it was a nightmare ha idiot she does

die but not this early the board that Ripley meets with has a hard time believing in the alien she's told that there are 60 maybe 70 families living living on LV 426 the same planet that the Nostromo landed on in the first film Ripley is then informed that they have lost contact with the colony on LV 426 she's then requested to Aid the colonial Marines on a mission there obviously she refuses you guys throw me at the wolves and now you want me to go back out there forget it it's not my problem isn't it

weird that people have lived on this planet for over 20 years and they just happen to lose contact with them as soon as Ripley is found and revived from sleep like what they probably should have explained that perhaps they just assumed the colony was fine and upon reaching out after hearing Ripley story they find out that there might be some truth to it because they got no response that's more likely after having another nightmare Ripley agrees to go with them under the condition that the Xenomorphs are wiped out and not brought back for study or

monetary gain yeah my word on it all right I'm in in the next scene the crew wakes up from cryosleep there's some bander between the Marines they eat together and then Bishop shows off his knife game skills look out Rusty Cage this guy seeks to Dethrone you oh I have all my fingers the knif goes chop chop chop if I miss thees in between my fingers will come off Bill Paxton's acting in this movie is so goofy hey man hey man not me man not me man that wasn't funny man this is Hudson he's a

bit of a goon the knife trick scene was originally going to be done by Bishop alone according to Lance henriksson he suggested to have Hudson's hand put on top of his as Henrickson felt the scene needed something extra this scene was discussed with pretty much everybody except Bill Paxton henriksson accidentally caught Paxton's pinky on a re-shoot yeah we had to do this remember we had to come back and that's when I caught your pinky by accident just barely touched it he almost he almost died I didn't even cut a hole in it I pinched it

and he he was acting like a stabbed him with an ice pick wait did they do this with a real knife there's no way they did it with a real knife right like they didn't actually do that with a real knife right right Ripley is not happy when she learns that Bishop is a synthetic you never said anything about an Android being on board why not obviously because of her experience with Ash Ripley tells the Marines about the alien the Marines goof around a bit I love Sergeant aone played by Al Matthews all right sweethearts

you heard the man and you know the drill [ __ ] and elbow hson come here come here perfect casting he must have been the inspiration for sergeant Johnson in the HALO Series and I won't hear anything against that are you are you where are you where are you when we meet the enemy we will rip their skulls from their spines and toss them away laughing am I right Marines sir yes sir rley shows him that she can operate a loader these yellow loaders are so iconic in the Alien series now whenever you buy an

action figure of Ripley there's always a loader next to her Ripley's got the power loader how's that grab you all the Firepower a marine C ask for the colonial Marines sued up and ready themselves for combat there's a silly part when the Marines and Ripley fly to the planet in a drop ship but the movie acts as if there's a gravitational pole did they know how space worked in I don't know when was this filmed 1986 they arrive at the colony complex on the planet surface the Marines enter the complex and search the place I

just want to mention how unbelievable it is that in the far future they would send Marines into a place where there's a possible alien threat that they have no idea how to fight in the beginning of the movie they sent a robot into Ripley's Escape pod before entering themselves like what the hell why wouldn't they do something similar here you wouldn't just walk in all willy-nilly is that something people still say willy-nilly but they do have pretty cool pulse rifles so they're fine so this complex is torn to [ __ ] and there's no sign

of human life clearly something terribly wrong happened here they discover a lab with glass cylinders holding some face huggers and one of them is still alive gigantic vagina something moves in front of the Marines and this is how they [Music] react [ __ ] hold up wow they find out that's a little girl ow Dam don't let her go Ripley follows her down into a little Hideout that she's made for herself she has has clearly undergone some trauma and becomes fearful when Ripley holds and attempts to calm her eventually this girl is examined by the

Marines and cleaned by Ripley we find out that her name is n and everyone she has ever known is dead they're dead all right can I go now very feel good movie I know n had to scream a lot in this movie and sometimes her screams aren't very believable but she was just a child so what can you do but for the most part she was fine Carrie Hen decided to stop acting shortly after filming aliens when her family moved from the UK to California where'd you go man like that performance is the beginning of

a massive career I mean don't get me wrong did I think about doing something like this and going pursuing it yes but ultimately at the end of the day I always wanted to be a teacher so she worked towards that for years and eventually became a fourth grade teacher which she still is but even still hen regularly attends conventions with her old co-stars and maintains a close relationship with Sigourney Weaver give it up for Carrie h n ladies and gentlemen after Ripley tries to assure her that the Marines can protect her this is what she

says it won't make any difference uh hearing this maybe it's time to go back to the ship and get that drone you know where's that surveillance drone where's the Drone Bishop is analyzing the corpse of a face hugger then the Marines pick up a signal of many life forms in the same area so they go check it out the weird Batmobile APC that the Marines are driving is so ugly it kind of reminds me of the Cyber truck bring on the Cyber truck Q music the Marines find that this section of the complex looks different

from the rest there's strange alien secreted resin on the walls Ripley informs Lieutenant Gorman that the Marines are under the pooling systems so if they fire their weapons in there it'll cause a thermonuclear explosion and that would be bad so the Marines are forced to give up their magazines and grenades and are told to only use flame units some of the Marines secretly keep some mags to themselves let me get this straight the Marines can't use their guns in here they can only use flamethrowers and there's potentially a deadly alien species running around and it

killed all the families that used to live here maybe now is a good time to bring out that surveillance drone this part is even funnier when you consider the fact that in Prometheus a character uses these very cool drones they have cool red lights and they speed along the corridors mapping out the entire area very quickly this technology also reports back any life and that movie took place before alien so this technology is available but they just don't use it these marines are just really confident very very confident and very skilled they don't need any

extra help so the Marines find corpses stuck to walls things aren't looking great but it's not time to turn back not just yet it's not like we have a synthetic with us that we can use to patrol the area further let's go in there Marines we got this they find a living person and their only words are please kill me please kill me before an alien bursts from their chest kill it now Ripley thinks it's a good time to tell Gorman to pull the team now they're surrounded by Xenomorphs that they can't see with their

eyes they're only showing up on their scanners private Crow is pulled into the ceiling she sprays her flamethrower and accidentally kills priv Frost [ __ ] gets wild Vasquez starts shooting when she was ordered not to Gorman can't communicate with aone due to shoty Signal Gorman is sweating bullets right now Ripley decides to take control and save the Marines so she drives the goofy APC to their location Drake is spraying Flames Vasquez sees that a xenomorph is about to pounce on him so she shoots it it dies but its acid blood sprays all over Drake

killing him anyway whoops man if only we send in a drone the only remaining Marines in this team are Hicks Vasquez and Hudson Gorman is passed out Burke denies Ripley's request to destroy the aliens from orbit this installation has a substantial dollar value attached to it they can bill me spunk Meer and Pharaoh the transport Duo are both killed by an alien that boarded their transport ship on their way to pick up Ripley and the rest these aliens I have something in my eye [ __ ] these aliens are strangely good at sneaking onto people's

ships without them realizing which is weird because they're not small but they are very quiet sneak level level 1,000 the survivors speak about how best to seal off their location and fight the aliens new and Ripley then share a cute moment I have scary dreams well I bet Casey doesn't have scary dreams riply she doesn't have bad dreams because she's just a piece of plastic right Ripley finds out that Burke was directly responsible for all the colonist deaths and he wants to bring back specimens of the face huggers for financial gain clearly Ripley doesn't like

this very much well I'm going to make sure that they know you right to the wall for this you're not going to slee your way out of this one right to the wall maybe not the best idea Ripley I mean he definitely won't let that happen very easily right if you're going to say this to him you might as well just lock him up right now so he doesn't backstab you later they don't do that the survivors need to find a way to remotely bring down the other drop ship from the shako they realize that

the only way is to use a portable terminal and Patch into a transmitter manually Bishop volunteers to do it I mean I'm the only one qualified a remote pilot to ship anyway it turns out that the only way that they can get the synthetic to do something is if it volunteers to do so otherwise they will never ask it he enters a very tight tube system and crawls his way through hick teaches Ripley how to use a a pulse rifle Gorman wakes up and Ripley wants nothing to do with him look Ripley I just forget

it [ __ ] you Gorman she decides to spend time with n they fall asleep but when Ripley wakes up she notices that the glass cylinders that the face huggers were encased in are now open upon trying to leave the room Ripley finds that they're locked in man I wonder who could have possibly done that maybe the guy that you promised to royally [ __ ] over an hour ago Ripley attempts to break the glass with a chair and fails [Music] she puts a lighter up to a sprinkler so the fire alarm goes off and

alerts the Marines the Marines arrive just in time to save them both Ripley reveals Burke's plans to the Marines the power dies and there's aliens on their Radars they found a way in something we missed he didn't miss anything something under the floor not in the plants I don't know they take way too long to figure out that the Xenomorphs are falling in the ceiling 12 M 11 6 can't be that's inside the room when they finally do the Marines try their best to hold off The Horde Berg escapes and closes them off in the

room Hudson is pulled into the floor this scene does a really good job showing how terrifying it'd be to face these things because they can attack from every direction Burke gets his come up in shortly after the remaining Marines Ripley and N travel through an air vent a giant air vent look at how big this air vent is Vasquez proves yet again that she's a badass look at the way she kills this alien in this vent but she is wounded Gorman tries to save her but they're surrounded so he pulls out a Detonator and they

take a bunch of the aliens down with them rip and hick get separated from new when filming the scene with new in the duct Carrie Hen kept deliberately blowing her scene sometimes I would mess up a little bit on purpose so that I could go down and come right back up and try it again Cameron finally dissuaded her by saying she could play on it as much as she liked if she just completed the scene but he said to me when this is all done you can go down it as however many times you want

to we just need to keep doing this so she did and he kept his promise so cute n ends up below the floor so they need to cut through the floor to reach an alien pops out of the water behind n and takes her away Ripley then says they don't kill you she's alive she's alive I mean debatable so the reason aliens don't kill you sometimes is because they want to bring your body back as a host for a face hugger so they use their alien goop [ __ ] to attach you to a wall

and they just kind of keep you there until a face hugger latches on to you and they only do this when there's a queen around Bishop is able to successfully bring the drop ship from orbit they use the drop ship to fly into the complex Ripley arms up to save n Hicks is injured from an alien attack in an elevator so he stays behind with Bishop Ripley takes an elevator down to where she believes new is located and moves through the dark and steaming facility spraying cautionary flame here and there and relying on her proximity

radar to find her way to n Ripley finds her watch instead n screams when egg opens in front of her so Ripley follows the scream shooting the face hugger and some Xenomorphs in the area she frees n and carries her away suddenly Ripley notices that she's in the middle of a field of eggs she finds what's laying the eggs and it's a giant xenomorph Queen good God the queen has an impressively long fleshy birth canal thing during this scene we learned that the Xenomorphs can communicate with one another the queen quietly tells the other zenos

to back off in return for Ripley leaving the area safely and not killing her eggs Ripley doesn't like this Arrangement so she does this the queen is not pleased holy [ __ ] this scene is insane everything about it when she's trying to find n when she saves n but then she finds that she's in this field of eggs the realization that there's a queen there and then Ripley going Buck Wild and destroying everything in the area she wipes out a [ __ ] ton of aliens in a matter of seconds this entire sequence is

so badass I love it the queen chases Ripley Ripley and N manag to take an elevator up when they get to the top they find that the drop ship has left without them Bishop God damn you those damn skin jobs am I right you can never trust them I can't wait for someone to watch this video like a hundred years from now and find this part of the video very insulting because they have a syn IC husband well I'm sorry uh X 01242 and then get this the queen takes the same elevator it's pretty funny

to imagine this happening you know it's kind of squished in this tiny elevator it's like where'd they go it turns out Bishop just left to get some Mickey D's he was hungry he kned his McFlurry with M&M'S which aren't sexy anymore they made the M&M's less sexy so they managed to escape and the complex self-destructs we made us but oh my God the queen made it on to the shuttle with [Music] them how this queen is gigantic they didn't notice it catching a ride why does this keep happening so the queen kills Bishop presenting McDonald's

new MC flurry he squirms around in his gooey white [ __ ] blood during filming Lance henriksson got food poisoning during the scene they had milk and yogurt mixed up and and they had it sitting in cups you know for me to puke all over the place apparently this milk and yogurt substance was sitting under hot lights for a long time but Lance Henrickson didn't care he endured the smell and apparently didn't complain once and put it in his mouth and spewed it out anyway and a stuff went bad and man why did I get

sick but I couldn't stop the shooting I mean I I'd go home and spend the whole night up and come in the next day and shoot some more God damn you got to find a man like that but they they changed it once they knew I got sick they made it fresh n's trying to escape the queen in the floor so then the queen plays [Music] whack-a-mole but then Ripley arrives in a loader this scene is [Music] epic get away from her you [ __ ] this scene ought to make any forklift operator horny Ripley

smacks the queen around a bit they stare each other down queen versus queen the loader isn't using any electricity to move there's a stunt guy sitting behind Sigourney Weaver and he's moving the limbs of the loader with the help of wires holding the thing up we decided to build a stunt man inside it to help control some of the functions of it and to help it move so that when Sigourney was in it um she was actually standing with her back right up against the stuntman so that his movements would be transferred to her or

vice versa eventually Ripley and the queen fall into an airlock there's one shot where they are very obviously action figures and it's pretty funny I mean just look at how plastic Ripley's arm looks good luck unseeing that everybody Ripley opens the airlock but the queen has grabbed on to Ripley's foot come on bro this thing's like 1,000 lb how is Ripley possibly hanging on still like what and then the queen falls into space Ripley closes the airlock the only survivors being half of Bishop Ripley n and Hicks this movie shares a lot of parallels with

the first movie but I don't think it's as good I think the first movie makes the alien out to be a much more substantial and mysterious threat this movie does have a lot more action and it's funnier hey Vasquez have you ever been mistaken for a man no have you and it's definitely still great there's incredible acting by Sigourney Weaver in fact Sigourney Weaver's Best Actress Academy Award nomination for this movie was the first ever for an actress in a role in an action and sci-fi movie so yeah pretty good movie I liked it I'm

wondering if aliens 3 is in the typewriter no not for me it's not but if the money were right no I don't think so it Alien 3 Alien 3 was released in 1992 it was directed by David Fincher my first movie it's fairly well known um was a disaster and written by too many people which is a bad sign four people have writing credits on the final product and those credits don't include the three writers whose screenplays were scrapped entirely there were lots of versions none of which were particularly successful this is when the franchise

starts to stumble a little bit the first director Vincent Ward was fired while sets were being built according to Fox exec John landow Ward was fired because his approach was more on the artsy fartsy side than on the big commercial side so yeah it's no surprise this movie came out the way it did the script was constantly being Rewritten with new versions being facted to the Studio on a near daily basis I think the biggest problem David had was that we never had a concrete draft of a script to go [Music] by cast and crew

often filmed a scene and learned the next day that it had already been scrapped that sequence that we just shot may not make it so we're going to shoot another version of it you know there was it seemed EXP ensive can you imagine how infuriating that must have been David Fincher was a novice director at the time and I think it did a great job in spite of the creative differences and the studio interference it's amazing to me that fox is number one studio in the country because they're all such a bunch of morons finra

disowned the film stating in an interview with the guardian I had to work on it for 2 years got fired off of it three times and I had to fight for every single thing no one hated it more than me to this day no one hates it more than me which sucks because I would have loved to have seen a director's cut and he is a great director he directed Gone Girl seven zodiac The Social Network Fight Club Panic Room that show mind Hunter and like a million music videos this guy really likes making music

videos and you've probably seen some of them he actually walked out when the studio rejected his initial cut and ordered extensive re-shoot he was not involved in the Final Cut but his initial off cut later became the basis for the assembly cut a longer version of the movie released on DVD in 2003 I sort of allowed myself to be steered into this communal making and then when the [ __ ] hits the fan all of a sudden everybody scatters and you're you're the guy standing there going wait alien cubed starts kind of weird the intro

credits are shown over black space and there are flashes of random things people and events interspersed between the credits and it goes on for a while I wasn't a big fan of it so the ship that was carrying Ripley hick Newton and Bishop crash lands on a prison planet called fiorina or Fury 161 the only Survivor is Ripley she's pulled out of the wreckage and resuscitated and on this planet is the Double Y chromosome work Correctional Facility this tells us that the prison is made for males with an extra Y chromosome with 25 prisoners in

this facility all double white Romos all thieves rist murderers child molesters XY y also called Jacob syndrome is not correlated with criminal violent or other antisocial behaviors about 1 in a thousand men have XY y syndrome and a vast majority are completely unaware of their condition there's just no proven correlation between aggressive criminal behavior and having an extra Y chromosome so it's just kind of strange that they made this distinction a dog barks at a face hugger that survived the crash the men who pulled out Ripley didn't notice it and then superintendent Andrews thinks it's

a great idea to tell everyone in the prison that a woman crash landed on the planet and survived the Survivor is a woman it's kind of funny if you think about it David Fincher and these writers sat down and they were like how could we possibly make this alien movie more horrifying than the last two I know let's CP crash land Ripley on a planet with nothing but horny male prisoners yeah I agree sounds like a nightmare but it's all good because the people of this prison have taken a sacred vow of celibacy I just

want to say that I've taken a vow of celibacy we are it also includes women yes they're basically harmless monks there's nothing to be afraid of wait a wait a minute I have a question what's the purpose of this vow when there's only men on this planet I don't think you got to worry about chicks dude it's not like there's a continent filled with ladies on the other side of the planet or something was it only intended for the gays the actor that most people will recognize in this movie aside from Sigourney Weaver of course

is Charles dance this is the same incredible actor that most notably played Tywin Lannister in Game of Thrones in this movie He plays a doctor named jonthan Clemens he informs Ripley that the others didn't survive a lot of what he says here is very quiet and muddle together feeling better I'll give you some clippers and you can attend to your private the way you did can be quite a joke to your system if I didn't have captions on I wouldn't be able to understand a word he's saying Dr Clemens shows Ripley around the facility they

enter a loud room so Dr Clemens has to yell in order for Ripley to hear him but strangely she responds in a normal speaking voice and he can hear her just fine how do you know my name it dled on the back of your short it came across pretty silly if I'm honest we learned that one of the inmates dogs has some strange injuries on its face Ripley is brought before n's body in the morg she asks for a moment alone with the body and then examines it for any sign of an alien life form

she convinces Dr Clemens to dissect n's body so with Ripley's experience with this creature she must know that the embryo surviving depends on the host being alive they grab the colonist they move them over there and they immobilize them to be hosts they don't kill you they she's alive she's alive when new drowned in her cryotube the embryo would have died with her I guess Ripley had a brain fart so of course they find nothing during the autopsy Dr Clemens can tell that Ripley isn't telling him the whole truth but when face to face with

superintendent Andrews Clemens convinces him to burn the bodies anyway they hold a strange religious burning ritual in this Mount Doom simulation room the poor doggy from earlier is the alien's host so we're shown the alien bursting from within the dog which is an unforgivable sin never kill a dog in your movie this is why the movie is a 1 out of 10 terrible piece of [ __ ] I have to admit though it is pretty cool how this particular alien has doglike qualities it walks on all fours and that's basically it but it's still pretty

neat during the filming of this movie they actually tried using a real dog to play this alien dog they just dressed up a dog like an alien and they let it run around around they were so stupid looking I mean once in a while you do something like that that is that just it's just so dumb you know you try and IDE and it just sucks so they had to use a puppet instead Ripley shaves her head she takes a shower and walks into the cafeteria Room everybody can't stop staring at Ripley because B they

see those two bouncing boinging bongas and they're like oh my God tell me this scene isn't straight out of the Matrix shaved head raggedy clothes it has very strong Matrix Vibes maybe that's just me it's probably just me she thanks a guy named Leonard Dylan for the speech he gave at the burning ceremony he responds like any normal guy would yeah you don't want to know me lady I'm a murderer and rapist of women Ripley says this well I guess I must make you nervous and then she sits at their table directly across from him

such a power move I love it I like how this guy has perfect pearly white teeth this random prison secluded from the rest of the galaxy has some pretty great Dental Dr Clemens and Ripley share a moment attracted to me in what [Music] way in that [Music] way then a prisoner finds some gross alien [ __ ] near an air shaft he's attacked by the xenomorph that's just hanging out in a hole you know as you do the prisoner stumbles into the fan and dies [Music] why would they be cleaning near the fan while it's

on turn the fan off if you're going to clean near it he deserved to die what what's wrong with you Dr Clemens asks Ripley why they had to cremate the bodies and for some strange reason there's a loud H during this part I have a joke to do h what was that I have a job to do I have a job to do both Ripley and Clemens are keeping some information from the other Ripley about the alien and Clemens about his past Clemens is brought to the crime scene in the airshaft and he knows that

something just isn't adding up that's suspicious Ripley pulls a device from the crash ship she came in on Clemens finds her here he tells her of the acid burn marks he found Ripley tells him that they need to power up the Android Bishop to recover information from the flight recorder Ripley locates the remains of Bishop what happens next is unsavory to say the least first off heavy guitar riffs start blasting that's the music they play before Ripley is almost forcibly penetrated the dude that's about to goes all Mad Max Fury Road but before he can

do anything Dylan comes out of nowhere and beats them with a metal bar take off I got to re-educate some of the brothers for some dumb reason in parts of this prison they use candles to light their path no joke they light up a million little candlesticks and they line the path with them like it's just so silly shut up one of the Prisoners has to go relight a candle so he Ventures out to go do so he's then killed by the alien god damn it if only they didn't use candles this guy named bogs

is lifted in the air and killed right in front of another [Music] prisoner he tells Andrews and the others about a dragon he saw it was the dragon these are mines it was nobody can stop it the dragon stop raving about Ripley restores Bishop Bishop informs her that there was an alien with them on the ship the entire time Ripley tells Andrews of the alien and of course he doesn't believe her he reveals to her that there aren't any firearms in this prison and that all of them are on the honor System this is a

Maximum Security Prison and you have no weapons of any kind we're on the honor System so let me get the straight this is a prison planet like there's nothing on this planet aside from this prison and they don't have guns that's pretty insane and we are [ __ ] no if there's a prison Uprising there's only one outcome the prisoners win and it's not like these prisoners don't know this they know this there's pretty much no reason not to revolt okay tangent over Clemens tells Ripley his sad story I did a 36-hour stretch on any

so when that got more than a little drunk and 11 of them died cuz I prescribed the wrong dosage a painkiller and I got 7 years in prison and my license reduced to a 3C the alien arrives in the infirmary and kills [Music] Clemens the moment we get any sort of character development from him he dies then we get the iconic scene of the alien next to Ripley it doesn't kill her but it does take clemens's body into the ceiling Ripley rushes to tell Andrews but immediately after she arrives Andrews is pulled into the ceiling

as well after this the survivors meet with each other to think of a way to fight the alien Ripley doesn't mourn the loss of her new friend for even a second who can blame her though she's literally lost everybody she's ever cared about so it's just another one as it turns out literally nothing works in this prison nothing much works here no climate control no video system no [ __ ] ice cream all we got is [ __ ] Aaron the superintendent's assistant takes over and he's much more amicable than Andrews but he's much Dumber

we learned that the prisoners got a look at his case File when he arrived and learned that his IQ was 85 so that's why they call him 85 some of you might recognize this actor he's the legend Pete po W po wait wait he posle God anyway Pete POS gets a chance to act in this scene and it's pretty cool great stuff Aaron shows Ripley a toxic waste chamber with only one door in or out he tells her that this room has 6 ft thick walls walls are 6 ft thick solid steel really knew how

to build these babies you're saying we get something in there there's no way it can get out that's right no [ __ ] way the prisoners start working together to prepare a fire that will force the alien out one of them is killed as the others work this poor bastard drops a flare which ignites the fuel prematurely Dylan activates the sprinkler system but by the time he does many prisoners have been killed and their original plan has been shot to [ __ ] Mal contentment and panic spreads through the survivors of the blast Ripley is

starting to feel strange her hands aren't functioning like they should so with the help of Aaron she runs a scan on her body turns out she has an alien inside her which ironically saved her life in in the infirmary Aaron and Ripley have a disagreement in the comm's room Ripley wants to inform the rescue team that the entire place has gone toxic and to turn back so as to keep the aliens quarantined to the prison Aaron still believes that they can kill the alien and be saved our only hope is that they kill this [

__ ] I'm getting rescued I don't give a [ __ ] about these stupid prisoners but I've got a wife I've got a kid um does Aaron know that they don't have any weapons what are you going to kill it with dude candles Aaron reads a message from the rescue team that the highest priority is that Ripley be quarantined they send awaiting acknowledgement over and over like a crazy ex and then finally after an hour passes they send that one message you hate me I get it Ripley goes searching for the xenomorph by herself since

she knows it won't hurt her with the alien inside her she pulls a pipe from the wall and says this don't be afraid I'm part of the family the balls on this woman I swear she finds a xenomorph sleeping but when she goes to hit it instead she punctures a hole through a very weak pipe and bugs starts spilling out of it the alien then crawls down to meet her after this Ripley meets with Dylan and pleads with him to kill her because of the queen that's growing inside of her you know the queen right

the big one the egg layer Ripley just knows that she's carrying a queen it's a queen an egg layer Ripley has has never seen a queen in its infancy before and considering the poor level of detail on the ultrasound there is no way she could have known this Dylan denies her request knowing that she's still more used to them alive I want to get this thing and I need you to do it and if it won't kill you then maybe that helps us fight it they meet with the remaining prisoners and Dylan has a pretty

badass speech here okay just sit here on your asses fine and all the rest of you [ __ ] and sit it out too me and herl do all the fighting their plan is to somehow trap it in the furnace and then pour hot lead on it when the prisoner Gregor finds the xenomorph chowing down on a prisoner it's not making any sound just odd I love when it notices him though come on come me you [ __ ] the camera takes on a first-person view of the xenomorph as it chases him which really helps

emphasize how panicked he must be because we get to experience firsthand this creature speed this part of the movie is pretty great watching as these panicked prisoners [ __ ] their pants as they try their best to capture this terrifying alien it's coming coming the things aren't exactly going to plan the alien picks the prisoners off one by one the rescue team arrives at the prison there's an awkward scene of Ripley trying to catch the alien's Tail as it's feeding on a prisoner like does she really think she can pull the alien by herself into

the furnace I get that she's desperate right now and self-preservation isn't really a thing because she wants to die anyway but still Dylan arrives and helps Ripley lure it into a room prisoner moris rushes to pour the lead Ripley wants to stay and die with the alien telling you I want to die knowing that the alien would more likely chase him than stay with Ripley in the furnace Dylan willingly stays behind speaking coherently as the alien rips him to pieces on come on that's all you got it's new B [ __ ] what a Chad

Morse pours the lead somehow the alien survives and jumps out like what the hell Ripley activates the sprinklers the extreme temperature difference makes it combust like the temperature difference was enough to how how how though like it was literally swimming in this [ __ ] and it survived come on dude Aaron and The Company Men find Ripley and Morris in the furnace Bishop is among these men you know who I am you're a Droid St model's Bishop said by the [ __ ] company no no no no he tells Ripley that he's Bishop's Creator he

promises Ripley that they want to destroy the alien inside of her you have to trust [Music] me no no she activates an arm that brings her and more Mor over the hot pit of lead one of The Company Men shoots Morse through the leg stop Aaron frustrated that he was wrong all along hits Bishop over the head I guess he was kind of brave but more stupid than courageous if you ask me Ripley jumps into the fiery liquid below the queen punctures through her as she falls Morris ends up being the only Survivor that the

company brings back with them come on you get going oh [ __ ] you I don't think this movie deserves nearly as much hate as it gets it's very entertaining at times and the acting is topnotch some of the xenomorph scenes look terrible more notably when the alien is moving around but aside from that I like this one quite a bit it's a solid 6 out of 10 if you ask me I did think Alien 3 was definitely the end there was never any talk at least that that that we were privy to that that

there was a plan that was ever a plan to go anywhere else with the movie because it was so definitive with the end of [Music] riple 5 years after alien cubed we get the worst movie in the series by far it was directed by Jean Pierre junette the same guy to my surprise that directed 2001's amaly and I quite like that movie he also made 2004's A Very Long Engagement and Delicatessen from 91 the original idea for the movie was [Music] for the hell was that uh one second guys hello [Applause] a get the hell

off me oh God all right where were we the original idea for the movie was for new to be cloned not Ripley that was until the studio was concerned people wouldn't care for the movie without Ripley I wrote a treatment and they said this is interesting we'd like we'd like maybe to make this but um you have to put soury Weaver in it kind of ironic you know with all these new alien movies none of which have Ripley in them apparently soury Weaver loved the direction of the story I read the first draft by Jos

Weeden I thought it was amazing I think so much of it is original while the spirit of it is very much a cross between the first and second maybe it's bedro on paper the intro credits to this movie are gross it looks like organs and body Parts morphing into one another and the title card is cheesy as all hell we're then introduced to the USM Orga which is a medical research vessel on this ship scientists are cloning Ripley for whatever reason pal though her entire body was burned to a crisp they did a pretty thorough

sweep probably found one of her hairs just lying there somewhere they then pull a baby xenom more from the clone's stomach I don't think that's how cloning Works they decide to keep the host alive and sew up the Ripley clone they put her in a strange Cocoon of sorts and she awakens in a room she's tattooed with a number eight and they call her number eight that was our number eight today suggesting she's the eighth clone or the eighth clone attempt she attacks a scientist you're going to make us all very proud but they don't

punish her or try to understand why instead they start testing on her it turns out she's operating at an adult cognitive level surprisingly fast the general overseeing her progress is filmed straight on and he's peering directly into the camera lens and it just makes him look goofy apparently this new Ripley has inherited memories passed down generationally at the genetic level by the alien oh wait a second it has memories why does it have memories well I'm guessing but inherited memories is passed down generationally at a genetic level by the aliens like its strength now I'm

no scientist but what the what the [ __ ] since Ripley died with the xenomorph inside her the general is worried that this clone will try and kill the alien test subjects because the real Ripley wanted to do so Ellen Ripley died trying to wipe this species out not anxious to see her taking up her old Hobbies you know the real Ripley she really didn't like aliens so this clone of Ripley is probably going to be the same thing right he opens a locked door with his breath or something and it doesn't work at first

identification please please drag again please drag again please drag again please drag again what kind of tech is this it's so stupid we find out that they have the grown Queen variant of the xenomorph in a cage on this ship the Clone is somehow inheriting some of the real Ripley's memories so she knows that she died one of the scientists explained that they cloned Ripley with the use of her blood samples they found on the prison planet blood samples from fiori 16 on Ice where you died so I guess scratch my hair follicle uh assumption

we're introduced to another ship called the Betty with a small crew of six there's a guy named Christy and he has some fancy wrist gun gadgets the same type of gun Gadget from D Jango [Music] Unchained except that movie took place in 1858 not in the far future with where spaceships are common place oh and when Nona Ryder is in this she plays someone named analie call the script is amazing I mean it's really really um the ideas in it are very moving actually I mean um having the the alien be you know the a

doist named joner drops a knife into a parap poic's leg as a joke because he can't feel it [Music] the paraplegic is named Ree and yeah this [ __ ] making the monkey noises is actually named joner joner you son of a [ __ ] joner is played by ronner Pearlman I'm sorry Ron Pearlman he has some really bizarre lines you hang with us for a while you'll find out I am not the man with whom to [ __ ] as if just saying don't [ __ ] with me was too trite the crew of

The Betty dock on the USM arga to do business the general and elegan meet and during this scene the general puts a vodka Cube into a glass and it awkwardly plops into liquid because remember guys it's the future the cargo that these space pirates are delivering are human beings in cryosleep pods we're shown that the people delivered in pods are being used as Lab Rats with xenomorph eggs jonner and Ripley have a very awkward basketball moment you got some moves on you girl he's very heavy-handed with his flirting so she beats the [ __ ]

out of him come on now give me the ball this seed suggests that this new Ripley is some sort of superhuman because of her Xeno jees she wipes blood from her nose from a little brawl she gets into with the Pirates I got a new game T she flings the blood on the floor and there's like 30 times as much blood than was wife from her nose Ripley then impresses the entire room of people with a blind basketball shot it's very cool Sigourney Weaver made the behind theb back half court basketball shot after 2 weeks

of basketball practice when the day came to shoot the scene the director wanted to have the ball dropped in from above rather than wait for Weaver to sink the shot herself I was oh my God we are going to make 200 takes because she wants to do herself Weaver insisted that she could make the shot the it's commonly said that she sank the shot on her first attempt it actually took her endless takes to complete the stun Jean Pierre junette gave her one last try to sing the basketball before they would give up the very

next take Sigourney Weaver successfully managed the trick I wasn't even thinking get it in because I was so sort of demoralized this and you know nothing but net it's good it's good Ron Perman broke character and began smiling when he saw it and people on the set started [Applause] cheering I [ __ ] up we learned that the blood that she flung to the floor has acidic properties like that of a Xenomorphs blood then the people board this ship go about their random activities scientists gyman tries to make out with a xenomorph behind the glass

[Music] I can't believe this scene actually exists gyman finds out that the xenomorph understands negative reinforcement and it's like a huge breakthrough for some reason we're a fast learner called goes for a stroll through the ship I got to admit it's a pretty cool looking ship she approaches one of those weird breath Terminals and she has little spray vials that she uses on it I you know what never mind it's too dumb to analyze in this room call finds Ripley lying on the floor it's revealed to us that Call's plan was to kill Ripley in

order to kill the xenomorph that's until call notices the scar on Ripley's chest indicating to her that it had already been removed Ripley jams Call's knife into her palm and her acid blood makes steam come from the wound strangely the knife remains intact despite the fact that earlier her same blood burned through the floor also at the beginning as they are surgically removing the alien fetus from Ripley they cut her open and are using for steps to remove the fetus from her abdomen yet this blood has no effect on the surgical tools that come into

contact with it during the birth logic and continuity just don't exist in this movie okay if you can uh live with that fact then you might enjoy it it appears as though the alien side of Ripley is taking over and it impairs her State of Mind you'll never get out of here alive I don't care really I can make it stop call is caught so they bring her and the rest of the Pirates to the workout room this is when Christy's go go gadget extendo guns come in handy he shoots up the place a guard

holds him up with a rifle instead of outright shooting him which he obviously should have done Christy shoots the ceiling and the bullet ricochets into the guard's head making a golden N64 bullet hole in his helmet could this movie be any sillier I kind of love it for that to be honest I mean the camera work alone makes this movie so much goofier the camera's flying all over the place during these action scenes if I didn't know any better I'd assume Michael B made this movie then there's a scene of the Xenomorphs communicating with one

another like they're talking to each other with little screeches it's really strange two of them kill the third so it blood can be used to burn a hole in the floor so the other two can escape containment so what does the brilliant scientist do he enters the room and pokes his head into the hole and he's instantly killed he is a scientist aboard this ship you know but he's still d as a stump we're shown the General's impressively hairy shoulders oh baby this random guy enters the alien containment room a xenomorph is on the other

side of the glass and the alien pushes a button with its second mouth that activates liquid nitrogen to spray in the room [Music] I don't think I ever needed to see a xenomorph push a button with its tiny mouth tongue but I did I saw that happen so great Why didn't it just I don't know use these so now there's a bunch of Xenomorphs running around this ship and people are rushing to the Escape pods ryce shoots like a thousand shotgun shells this scene is very poorly edited you hoes you SL bastard mother no an

alien makes its way into an escape pot full of people so the general bowls a grenade into it just before it drops he then detonates the grenade with a switch grenade you pull the pin throw it and 4 seconds later it [Music] explodes the general then gets the back of his head penetrated by an alien tongue mouth he pulls out some of his brain and looks at it why is this movie trying so hard to make it so I don't take it seriously Elgen is pulled through a great and killed this is how Ripley enters

the scene what the [ __ ] it's pretty neat we're told that there are 12 Xenomorphs roaming this ship Ripley has the most ridiculous line ever during this part who do I have to [ __ ] to get off this boat when I wrote it I wanted to make the character kind of strange and edgy and I was afraid that Sigourney would say can't we make her pretty and you know and likable and can she have a puppy we then learned that call was the only pirate that knew of Ripley and the Alien Insider Tuco

from Breaking Bad is in this movie too it's pretty cool to see him in an earlier role like this after his massive blow up on that show Ripley pulls the tongue out of the xenomorph and gives it to call make a nice souvenir rice is still alive by the way we're told that the ship is autopilot back to Earth as part of an emergency procedure the Betty crew is not too thrilled about this because apparently Earth is a [ __ ] hole now there's a conversation between jonner and Ripley that goes as follows I heard

you like ran into these things before that's right wow man so like what did you do I died left on The Cutting Room floor was Jonna's retort that's not exactly what I was hoping to hear which ironically probably would have made the scene better these scenes sound like they're written by a high schooler with a 2.0 GPA Ripley feels the urge to investigate a room that's labeled 1 through 7 since she's eight it's stands to reason that this would be the room where the other clones are located this is one of the coolest scenes in

the movie in this room there are many deformed and failed clones floating in Vats some are strange human zomorph hybrids Ripley finds the only other living clone it's an Abomination it begs for death so Ripley lights it on fire that's kind of rude like burning alive is one of the most painful ways to die I assume I haven't burned a alot myself but you know I have reason to think that I've burned myself on a stove before and that sucks and it's not like they don't have regular weapons to use they do could have I

don't know just shot her probably would have been a little bit more Humane I think jonner then says this [ __ ] waste of ammo must be a chick thing poor Ron prman his lines are horrendous one of the poor bastards that was being sold by the Pirates survives and awakens in front of the Betty crew Ripley smells him and tells the others that he has an alien growing inside of him leave him [ __ ] you we're not leaving him here he's got one inside of him look we can't just leave him here Call's

entire reason for joining the crew of The Betty was to stop the scientist from acquiring an alien specimen you got to help me stop this thing before it gets loose she's even prepared to kill Ripley in her sleep to do so she was prepared to destroy the ship with everyone still on it we got to blow the ship yet when they find a Survivor with an alien embryo she's absolutely fine with freezing him and returning him to Earth to have the alien removed look he comes with us we freeze him on the Betty then the

doctor can remove it later it makes no sense there's a water level in this movie the team has to swim through a section of the ship two aliens attack them in the water and kill off one of the crew at one point when trying to surface Ron prman nearly drowned while filming the underwater sequence he hit his head on a sprinkler in the ceiling knocking him out cold he was rescued by nearby film crew members he said in a tweet that it left a permanent Scar and that he hasn't taken a bath in 20 years

because of it the underwater sequence marked the first time that Winona Ryder had gone underwater since a near drowning incident that happened to her when she was 12 years old I mean I just remember the first day I had a complete anxiety attack and I I thought there's no way I'm going to they're going to have to replace me but um no I had to do it I had to go under water really deep Sigourney was very very helpful when they reach the other side it's blocked off by some gross alien fleshy film there are

many eggs in this room so they're in a bit of a pickle Christy fires a couple grenades through the water they bounce into the room and blow up the [Music] eggs this kind of goes without saying but there's no way that these grenades would have enough force to be shot through the water like this a face hugger attaches itself to Ripley but she pulls it off you know no big deal I did that earlier the face huggers aren't as strong as people think they are thank you Alien Resurrection for getting the truth out there there's

a doctor leading them through the ship and his name's Dr Ren he betrays call Shoots her and she falls into the water below a xenomorph climbs up after christe and rice christe shoots at it but the xenomorph Matrix Dodges the bullets and spits acid back at him how is this movie real So based on the first movie's logic with the acid christe should definitely be dead but I guess the acid they spit isn't as strong as their blood joner saves Christie by leaning backwards on the ladder and shooting downwards at the alien the bullet streams

are red like they're lasers from Star Wars this entire sequence sounds like it belongs in an anime this goofball gets spooked by a spider and shoots it christe cuts himself free and drops with a Dead Xenomorph to save Ry the door opens at the top and it's call turns out she's synthetic you're a robot our little call is just full of surprises so what Ripley could smell the alien inside someone but couldn't tell if a person is a robot or not I guess these new models are very convincing I should have known no human being

is that Humane so get this call just plugs into the ship and takes it over entirely opening many doors and even changing the ship's destination so why did she use those weird sprays to enter Ripley's room earlier when she could have just opened the door like this Ren is attempting to board the Betty but call stops him by closing a door in his face Ren tries to access the ship's onboard AI called Father which is very clever because in a previous movie it's named mother father Lo the power drain mother call speaks to him through

the ship's intercom and then asks the aliens to go somewhere specific as a joke Intruder on level one all aliens please proceed to level one or does she actually think the aliens speak English what is she doing later joner is being a dick so Ripley grabs his throat and his tongue does that compute or do I have to draw you a schematic hey one another souvenir what an awkward scene this must have been to film Ripley is pulled into the floor and she's taken by a mass of alien fleshy bits the studio wanted to cut

this scene because of its sexual nature they decided to keep it when Sigourney Weaver threatened to not promote the film if the scene was cut I rather like this scene too I think it's easily one of the best looking shots in the movie it has this super cool spooky Cosmic horror energy to it deleting this scene would be removing one of the only cool moments in this movie next we see a xenomorph carrying Ripley away despite call blocking his path earlier Ren still managed to make it to the Betty and he holds call hostage the

guy with an alien in his chest can feel his time is up so he rushes at Ren which gets him shot in the process and then the xenomorph bursts through both of them at once there's a silly shot that travels into this guy's mouth and down his throat where the baby alien greets us wasn't there something creepy like this in death stranding that's what it reminds me of in the next scene we see a bunch of humans wrapped up in cocoons including gettman who tells us something very odd this time there is no host there

are no eggs there is only her womb and the creature inside remember the queen that was taken out of Ripley earlier well apparently it has a human reproductive system now Ripley watches as it gives birth and this Abomination is her child God this thing is hideous it immediately kills its mother and approaches Ripley it licks Ripley thinking she's its mother and then feeds on gettan Ripley climbs to safety and then rushes down the Halls to the launching bed she performs a matrix jump and Boards the [Music] Betty oh no the hatch is busted call has

got to fix it the weird human alien thing Finds Its way to their location and Boards the Betty it crushes tuco's head how come the aliens always find their way onto the smaller ships after they leave the bigger ships in these movies it just becomes a bit predictable after a certain point Ripley saves call at the last second and shares loving Embrace with this [Music] creature God it's so weird does it need the boobs does it need those because now I'm just haunted with the undeniable fact that there's some weirdo out there that you know

to this thing I'm sorry I made you all think about that this thing's death scene is so funny the alien gets sucked into the hole in one of the ship's Windows as its CGI guts and Bones go flying into [Applause] [Music] space bro the USM or crash land hands the Betty regains cabin pressure despite them never plugging the hole the only survivors being call Ripley joner and Bryce who share a kiss by the way it's very [Music] cute so yeah let's talk about what I liked about this movie well uh not much I guess the

sets look cool the Practical effects are awesome and the acting is mostly good also the basketball shot was pretty epic and I like that one Cosmic horror scene the action scenes came across almost was purposely comical the camera work is way too aggressive the dialogue is embarrassing and the story makes no sense so yeah this movie is a garbage fire it's awful just abysmal in pretty much every way it is funny so it has that going for it I have a great idea for alien 5 oh yeah and it's and you'll be working with someone

you just love and adore Jim Carrey next up Pro [Music] I want to warn you guys that uh I am in extreme Agony my entire abdomen feels like it's on fire so let's talk about a movie in 2012 the first and only alien movie to date without the word alien in the title was released and it's the second movie in the franchise directed by Ridley Scott this movie is a prequel to the first alien movie it was written by John Spates and Damon lindeloff this is the first movie in the franchise that doesn't star Sigourney

Weaver it's part of you sound that you won't be involved not really and you know what good she did her time she made her money let someone else take up the alien mantle and that someone was numei rapas unexpected but I like it I know Ellen Ripley could never be replaced trying to do so would be a Fool's errand she's simply too iconic but I'm actually a huge fan of numi rapas I thought she was great in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series and I tend to like her and anything I see her in

and that includes weird movies about lamb humans this movie's cast is absolutely stacked Michael fast Bender Logan Marshall Green Charlie theren Idris Elba Guy Pierce and along with Ridley scotch's return as director a lot of people had good reason to be excited about this film and I was definitely one of those people do I like it now yes I know it's not perfect okay but this movie has a lot going for it let's begin the intro credits are stunning with beautiful landscapes we see a large alien ship hovering in the sky below stands a single

gigachad alien I mean just look at this handsome Squidward [ __ ] that body dude sheesh this dude is juicing for sure all that lifting goes to waste pretty quick as he drinks some unknown black liquid that seems to completely rewrite him on a cellular level turning him into black dust as he stumbles down the waterfall rip Bozo what a waste of beautiful muscle dude it's implied that by doing this he has gifted this planet with life then there's a scene of Elizabeth Shaw and Charlie Holloway discovering ancient cave drawings as is customary with this

franchise we get an establishing shot of the outside of some large spaceship this time it's the Prometheus a scientific exploratory vessel David this movie synthetic observes Elizabeth Shaw's dreams or memories as a child as she lay in cryosleep David is by far the most convincing Android in this series and in my opinion the best synthetic in the entire franchise there's clearly something odd and overly perfect when it comes to his posture and movements the previous Androids were all far too human at least in my opinion however I do understand that that was kind of the

idea because they wanted to bamboozle the audience with their reveal David is fascinated with human beings and even idolizes an actor in a movie he likes so while he moves more robotic than the previous Androids in some ways he's acting far more human than any of them did Charlie sarin's character is the first to wake from hypersleep her character's name is Meredith Vickers theren was originally offer the role of Shaw but was forced to decline the role due to scheduling conflicts later her schedule freed up and she was able to do the film so she

was like God damn it why did this happen to me this allowed her to take the role of Vickers because during her absence numi rapas was chosen to take the role of Shaw as there approaching their destination a new planet the entire crew is awoken Idris elba's character janx set up a Christmas tree to give the occupants a sense of time and I think it's very cute I like the little Christmas tree Okay Sea Harris's character ffield is a huge douche for no reason hi mil biology nice to meet you I ain't here to be

your friend I'm here to make money okay there's shown a hologram presentation where guy Pierce's character Peter Wayland a long dead Rich dude tells the crew about David and his desire to find the answers to Mankind's existential questions I have spent my entire lifetime contemplating the questions where do we come from what is our purpose what happens when we die Dr hallway shows the others cave paintings they found from all over the world from various ancient civilizations that had no contact with one another and how each of them showed men worshiping large beings pointing to

the stars and the star formation show shown is similar in all of them and there was only one Galactic system that matched and it was so far from Earth that none of these people could have seen it or known about it there's one moon in this system capable of sustaining life and that's their destination so did the aliens make these cave paintings that's the only logical explanation apparently these ancient beings Shaw calls them Engineers Drew these as invitations for mankind for when they were ready to visit them which is kind of a but all right

the crew aboard this ship share similar doubts so you saying we're here because of a map you two kids found in a cave is that right no yeah um no Vickers explains to Shaw and Holloway that she's in charge regardless of what whan said or believed and you do find these beings down there you'll do nothing but report back to me she's a bad [ __ ] okay and you're GNA listen to her Charlie theen I would listen to you I would listen to you Queen there's a pretty neat scene of their transport ship landing

on this planet the team suits up and rides out onto this mysterious moon and as a big fan of sci-fi this movie is a feast for the eyes The Strange World the suits the tech the prometheus's interior the transport Vehicles everything is so convincing in this universe I love it according to Ridley Scott he was adamant to show the Prometheus and its science crew with appropriately Advanced 21st century technology such as slim down space suits holographic displays and video screens inside full spherical helmets I figure by then you'll put a bubble on your head why

are you going to create a helmet which where you've got blind spots that's ridiculous when you want to do that you really want to Globe co-writer John Spades did acknowledge that this sleeker style conflicted with the grunger analog technology seen in Alien rationalizing that the nostrom was a rust bucket that could be over a 100 years old while in contrast the Prometheus was a state-of-the-art exploratory vessel it feels like the reasoning was more or less I don't know it looks cool which would probably be my reasoning as well to be honest if it looks cool

that's all that matters part of the job as a director is you've got to just stand your ground saying this is what I want [ __ ] off and that's it the team finds their way to what looks to be a large Cave System ffield activates his pups to scan and map the area these little flying drones are so cool looking I love their design how they shoot like red lasers around the walls and fly through the hallways scanning everything it's the type of thing I like to see in sci-fi I know it doesn't take

a lot to impress me I get it it's just neat okay further into this structure they find that the air is suddenly breathable so they remove their helmets you wouldn't Catch Me Dead doing something well I would probably die if I did that so it's a pretty huge gamble to to take I think they completely disregard microscopic life forms like bacteria or viruses as a biologist Milburn should know of these risks whatever dude the air it's safe David finds some alien boogers on the wall and he likes it impressive nasty [ __ ] somehow he

immediately knows how to use an alien control panel I mean cool he's a robot and everything but really doing this activates a hologram of past events that have happened within this ship and they can kind of watch them back they locate the bodies of some of the engineers ffield expresses his love for rocks I'm just a geologist I like rocks I love rocks he's madly in love with rocks that's clear you two don't give a [ __ ] about rocks you know those pet rocks that sold like crazy ffield was a big fan ffield and

Milburn head back to the ship David opens the door near these bodies and they find this huge face Monument under it sits many vases or containers filled with mysterious black liquid there's these HR Giger inspired murals on the walls and they morph their form as they sense the scientist's presence it's so cool David is incredibly impulsive and constantly throws caution to the wind he's a very annoying aliit useful companion I want him to be like that guy that's so annoying you know it's like is he taking the piss out of me or is he being

for real janic alerts the others that there's a deadly storm quickly approaching Shaw Holloway and Ford bag the head of an engineer as David takes his sweet time messing around with one of the containers of black sludge the storm is on their tail as they drive their buggies to the ship just outside of the ship they drop the engineer's head what are you doing probably wouldn't be me but it's a pretty valuable head I mean that's a pretty interesting head the storm hits them so now they're in trouble David is eventually able to save them

hilariously Milbert and ffield are still roaming around the alien structure me when I'm 6 years old and lose my mom in the grocery store ffield and Milbourne are told by janic to hold tight until the storm passes Shaw and Ford examine the engineer's head David takes the helmet off and reveals the gigachad underneath just look at that jawline good Lord they use a device to activate the head's nervous system during this scene neither Ford nor Shaw put their masks on which is funny because it ends up exploding what why what why isn't anybody practicing safety

measures I'm so confused David is seen speaking to an unknown person in a pod Vicor confronts David about this it is then heavily implied that the person giving David orders is Wayland what did he say I'm sorry that's confidential oh my God what did he say he said try harder David had brought one of the alien containers back with them he opens it within the ship without taking any safety precautions of course he pulls out a bunch of alien vials with snot all over them they're filled with this black substance when David peers at a

drop of it on his fingertip you can see that his fingerprint has two unnatural triangles what you're seeing here is the whand Corp logo this was most likely used to identify the company's synthetic which is a super cool touch especially since this Scene goes by pretty fast big things have Small Beginnings kind of like this D sha and Ford discovered that the DNA from the head matches the DNA of human beings the plot is thickening kind of like this Holloway is a bit depressed by the discovery that their makers are dead so David does him

a solid by using him as a guinea pig and testing the black fluid on him without his knowledge good health very nice D but thank you for doing this during this scene we get one of the best interactions in the entire series why do you think your people made me We Made You gu we could can you imagine how disappointing it would be for you to hear the same thing from your creator I guess it's a good thing you can't be disappointed huh yes it's wonderful actually this scene perfectly demonstrates Holloway's ignorance when it comes

to artificial intelligence it also demonstrates David's sentience and his uncanny ability to manipulate others which is probably due to him constantly studying human beings this interaction calls into question the possibility that perhaps these Engineers were in over their heads and didn't fully understand what they were doing much like Humanity when it comes to our own Creations so you can think of the engineers as like human 2.0 like the the better version but not that much better and they replicated themselves but we're kind of shittier and we have hair and we're smaller and we're not as

muscular and our dicks aren't as big for some reason milir and ffield decide to moronically explore deeper into this alien structure they find a door with engineer bodies piled up around it janic informs them about a ping on the map of a moving life form it disappears and instantly janik's like oops it was a glitch good night must be a glitch what do you mean a glitch all right boys sleep TI are you kidding me he can even hear them panicking no what does he mean wait but he doesn't decide to call in and be

like I'll Stick Around to make sure it was nothing janic asks them where they are what is your position we are at 74477 why and this is hilarious because he has a map directly in front of him that tells him exactly where they are you're asking the wrong questions dude Shaw and Holloway share a moment and then we find out that Shaw is infertile there is nothing special about the creation of life right anybody can do it I mean all you need is a dash of DNA and half a brain right I called great life

it was at this moment that he knew he [ __ ] up Vickers and janic have a funny interaction they're both pretty horny so screw the two guys stuck in the alien structure with potential living gigachad alien life forms inside of it these two Dumbo decide to hang out in the room with all the containers in it and then these strange snake like things pop out of the sludge Milbourne calls into to the Prometheus but of course Janik is too busy smashing Charlie theren okay you know what when I say it like that I'm pretty

sure that would be all of us well if you can't be the one you love love the one you with the you so yeah these two fools are alien food I mean earlier they couldn't find their way out this place when ffield literally has incredibly Advanced mapping robots you think it be useful to have the map that they're creating on your person somewhere so you can use it no of course not what am I thinking it's much more convenient to have someone else guide you from the spaceship when you could lose connection at any moment

Dallas Milbourne is astoundingly stupid in this scene he approaches this thing and reaches out to it it even reacts to him in a threatening manner but he continues trying to interact with it Anyway come here it's okay it's okay it's okay hey bab the snake grabs his hand and wraps itself around his arm if I were ffield I would have left this dude the second it attacked him I mean he was being a [ __ ] [ __ ] him see you acid sprays onto F Field's helmet when he attempts to cut it off of

Milburn which ends up killing him what a [ __ ] eventually it enters milburn's mouth it looks very uncomfortable I had a Prometheus face question for you just don't if you before why why did you why did you pet the alien what okay so I'm going to clear this up once and for all there's a big scene that was cut which is me discovering life for the first time and I find one of those baby snakes so that big snake who's quite scary I find his little brother and I'm like this is extraordinary I then

see the big snake and he's like he's even better than the small snake and I think that that snake is not scary yeah because I've seen the small snake and he's not scary so that's why which would be logical yes peering into a mirror Holloway notices a life form moving in his eye it's so creepy I love it I love this scene the next day the crew goes searching for tweetle dumbass and Tweedle Dumber David Ventures off on his own to explore further into the ship Vickers watches through his body cam he enters a giant

room full of those containers he enters another giant room and then turns off his body cam you son of a bit hallay starts showing severe signs of infection so they Rush him back to the Prometheus Shaw calls to have a medical team standing by when they get back to the ship I need a medical team standing by the airlock but the medical team are already in the field with her who is she calling poor Benedict Wong he was probably so hyped to be in this movie you know we're about to do the first take and

we're now about to do the prequel of alien but his entire role practically turned out to be just look at this inquisitively in the background sometimes he's barely in the movie we return to David he squishes some egg looking buttons and activates an alien gamer chair Holograms of the engineers enter this room and operate the ship I really have no idea what these Holograms are it's some strange alien Tech that can replay past events in the ship and David knows how to activate them somehow like obviously there's going to be a lot of these events

that they could replay right depending on how often these aliens were in the ship if David were to replay just a random moment in time you think it would just be the aliens just like sitting down doing nothing really David then finds a living engineer still in his pod by the time the team gets back to the Prometheus Holloway is too far gone Shaw is desperately Clinging On to Hope eventually Holloway asks Vickers to blast him with a flamethrower and she does just that and it's pretty intense stay back do it in the next scene

we instantly find out that sha is pregnant Elizabeth is infertile right I called great life we all know where this is going Shaw begs David to take the alien baby out of her David sedates her and then asks her if she feels like her God has abandoned her because Charlie dies similarly to her father L Dr honay after your father died under such similar circumstances what was it that killed him [Music] Ebola she pretends to be asleep so she can catch her team off guard and Escape she rises in pain as she navigates her way

to the emergency healing pod this scene is incredibly tense it's amazing the machine pulls the alien amniotic sack out and it bursts in the Pod Shaw rips the umbilical cord out of herself that is badass she's then stitched up as this little squid creature wriggles above her she closes this thing into the Pod and rushes away numi raza's acting in this movie is so good I mean the acting across the board in this movie is pretty great but God damn if she doesn't give 110% in this scene janic notices that five field signature is right

outside the ship so some men go outside and find him looking a little different than before you're looking a little under the weather my guy he turned into some weird Hulk zombie creature and he easily kills many men before he's eventually ran over and toasted Shaw finds her way to a room where David is he's there with some random guys and Wayland here on the shed pool this time why I only have a few days of life left in me you want to waste them till I was sure that you could deliver what you promised

meet my maker David's mission is to bring whan to meet with the last living engineer so that he may find the answers to death and to life itself Shaw tries to warn him but of course whan doesn't listen janic reveals what he thinks to Shaw that this planet is not the engineer's home simply a place for them to keep a weapon that they've created but it turned against them which hindered them from leaving we find out that Vickers is whan's daughter God damn when did this guy have his kid when he was 70 he looks

like he's a thousand years old right now the dialogue in this movie is pretty great sometimes I didn't think you had it in you sorry for choice of words Shaw Wayland and David find their way to the living engineer David tells Shaw that the cargo of Black Death sludge was meant for Earth with the explanation sometimes to create one must first destroy rley Scott suggested that an engineer was sent to Earth to stop Humanity's increasing aggression but was crucified the implication being that you know the engineer was Jesus Christ he felt that this would be

too obvious of a religious allegory for the film yeah I don't think I would have liked that at all David wakes the engineer he attempts to speak to it wow okay we shouldn't have come in peace I guess the engineer kicks the [ __ ] out of everyone in the room aside from Shaw who runs away he Palms Ford in the chest so hard it killed her whan's last words are kind of Bleak David responds I know have a good journey Mr W the engineer begins to Pilot the ship and takes off sha begs Jan

to stop them from reaching Earth this ship is taking off what you have to stop it we're not stopping anything Shaw if you don't stop it they won't be any home to go back to what like a king he agrees finally Benedict Wong gets a chance to shine in this movie his character's name is Ravel by the way but you probably didn't know that Janik releases the Lifeboat for Shaw Vickers escapes via an escape pod the Prometheus then crashes into the alien ship kamakazi style making it fall out of the sky it ends up falling

in the opposite direction it was struck so it ends up where Vicor and Shaw are located which which is really weird let's think about it this thing's flying like this Prometheus comes crashes into it where are they going to fall they're both going to go this way they're not going to fall backwards I don't know maybe they would I mean the weight of them is probably pretty substantial I'm not a physicist it just kind of makes sense logically doesn't it if you thought that was silly this next part is even sillier the massive ship is

rolling towards them like a giant wheel but they run away from it it when they could just do this and they would roll past them you know so Vicor get squashed by it what a dumbass it appears that Shaw is also squashed but she barely survives I mean the shock wave alone from the giant ship falling would most definitely result in her death but this is an alien Moon so maybe it's different here oh no it wasn't enough that she outran this thing now it's actually going to fall on top of her and yet she

is um sort of remarkably um and miraculously spared Shaw arrives at the Escape pod it doesn't look too good inside she notices that the squid creature has grown significantly since she left it David's head tells her over Cals that the engineer is coming for her I'm unsure how he knows this but whatever he's a he's a Super Robot you know he knows everything Shaw opens the door to the squid as she's attacked by the engineer the squid squid alien grabs the engineer and it's pretty brutal watching this squid thing devour him is I mean you

kind of feel bad for handsome Squidward again we're wasting some valuable muscles here do you know how long it probably took him to gain those like that's a lot of protein shakes and the next seen Shaw is outside and she has her hand exposed I mean maybe these are Advanced suits that don't need to be entirely enclosed but it's still kind of strange 2 minutes without a suit you're dead David tells Shaw that there are many other ships and that he can operate them so they should work together to get back to Earth Shaw tells

David that their new plan is to travel to the engineers's home planet to confront them about their decision to kill off Humanity after creating them they created us then they tried to kill us I deserve to know why yeah that's a great decision I mean what how well do you think that'll go it's not the best plan I'm just going to come out and say it the movie ends with them taking off in a different ship and a strange xenomorph variant bursting from the engineer's [Music] [Applause] body this is probably my third favorite movie in

the alien franchise after alien and alien obviously it has some problems but I still really like it I love the themes that are explored as an agnostic I'm a big fan of when someone tries to explain how human beings came to be in like a weird sci-fi way I don't know it just tickles me in like the perfect place also the acting the cinematography the sets the creativity in general the Practical effects the writing the music everything is topnotch composer Mark streitenfeld had the orchestra play his compositions backwards and then he digitally reversed the compositions

for the final film this made the music sound weird unusual and unsettling which fit the tone of the movie Perfectly so yeah that's Prometheus some logic went out the window but some sacrifices need to be made sometimes just some oversights here and there it's fine and no one liked it and I thought at the end you know what I Like It screw them absolutely that was the attitude AB I I know what it is screw you oh God I'm really feeling sick something's not right man God something's not right dude something's not right with me

oh God Is it bad released in 2017 Ridley Scott brought us another entry into the alien franchise alien Covenant a sequel to Prometheus it stars Michael fast Bender Katherine Waton Billy crudup and Danny McBride it's so weird to me that Danny McBride is in an alien movie I found him super funny in other movies and shows but to see him in this movie kind of threw me for a loop stick by Danny McBride he'll keep you safe yeah I get that a lot I go to church every goddamn Sunday you going to bring the demons

out of me the original treatment for this movie was to be a more faithful sequel to Prometheus and it was originally titled alien Paradise Lost so Prometheus 2 is not really going to be it's going to be alien Paradise Lost it sounds intellectual but there's a similarity to it that's where it stops what in the goddamn hell are you talking about it would have drifted even further from the alien mythology and focused almost exclusively on the backstory of the engineers the origins of humanity and how the engineers created humans and Xenomorphs the prequels would then

conclude with a film that ties itself into the original alien Ridley Scott felt that the alien franchise had lost its touch and that fans had grown tired of the Overexposed xenomorph and as such he wanted to try a different approach however due to the divided fan reactions to Prometheus he later admitted that he was completely wrong about fans feelings towards the alien since one of the major criticisms of Prometheus at the time was the lack of Xenomorphs by the time you get to the final one you've got him in a glass box you're studying him

so immediately he's impotent so I felt he was done prome was very successful there was something about some of the notes when you look on social media good film but but they missed him so I was already in prep of doing Covenant cuz we knew we were going to do it immediately and adjusted the story he partially abandoned the New Direction and reintroduced the alien Mythos much sooner than planned this kind of bums me out personally because I would have loved to have seen Paradise Lost it would have been great to see his original Vision

this just goes to show that fans don't always know what they want and listening to them might not always be the best route to take I think this movie is by far the weakest alien movie Ridley Scott has made and we'll be getting into the reasons why alien Covenant begins on December 5th 2104 and ends a few weeks later in 2105 17 years prior to alien the movie starts on David's eye then we get a scene of younger whand running through some verbal tests with David they have an existential conversation if you created me who

created you I refuse to believe that mankind is a random byproduct of molecular circumstance there must be more and you and I son we will find it and then there's the title card scene that's very reminiscent of the first movies with the title slowly being revealed then there's an establishing shot of the Covenant space vessel fast Bender is here and he plays a different Android named Walter he's speaking to the onboard AI named mother on my way mother I I understood that reference then the ship encounters a neutrino burst which I guess is a shock

wave from a collapsing star the crew is revived aside from one person this character is played by James Franco that's what you get for being creepy to all those girls you weirdo over the course of my teaching I did sleep with students and that was wrong um but no there's no butts there's no butts the character Oram is next in line as Captain so he has to lead the crew they need to repair the ship before they can jump again Daniels tells Walter that when Jacob was alive they made plans to build a log cabin

on a lake on this new planet Jake had this dream of us building a cabin on a new world so in the ship stores there's enough wood to build a cabin now I wonder why bother because you promised to build a log cabin on a lake the crew sends off Jacob in a Sci-Fi funeral and orm has a very normal reaction they disobeyed a direct order she buried her husband no Karen that's not it they don't trust me and they don't trust me for the same reason the company didn't trust me to lead this Mission

because you can't be a person of faith and be counted on to make qualified rational decisions bro chill what's wrong with you imagine if Jacob's body that they blasted off into space lands on an alien planet or something talk about the weirdest asteroid ever anyway Tennessee picks up a strange transmission while he's out fixing the ship mother plays the audio from this [Music] transmission room that's [ __ ] John Denver earlier drafts of the script had the incoming trans be a prayer we had a transmission written way back in the original scripton it was written

as a prayer and I thought yeah I can't do prayer that's kind of corny so they changed it to a John Denver song all right mother is able to track the location of the transmission they find a Planet in this location that's habitable for human life probably even more so than the planet they were traveling to anyway named origi 6 this new planet is much closer than Ori 6 and the crew doesn't exactly want to jump back into the pods after seeing what happened to Jacob I find it kind of silly that they would have

never even found this planet if it weren't for that random shock wave in the middle of space makes the plot a bit contrived Daniels expresses to Oram how ridiculous this is a random transmission of a human song from a planet that just happens to be perfectly habitable a hidden planet that turns up out of nowhere and just happens to be perfect for us it's too good to be true I'd question it too it's kind of insane this ship is carrying 2,000 colonists so so it isn't some science vessel with a small crew making this path

change is a huge deal but they decide to do it anyway a drop team is gathered they launch towards the planet they chat about titties less of the old man sweet tits can talk about your tits good with my wife's tits and then they land in some water The Landing crew are shown walking down the ramp and waiting through water upon Landing when running back to the ship the land is dry and they walk onto the boarding ramp on dry ground but then when the camera angle changes we see water around the ramp again what

why does the water come and go as it pleases someone make this make sense they moronically leave their Ship Without helmets or suits on before confirming that the air is breathable they have a synthetic on board that can leave the ship to check for sure if the air is breathable but they all leave at the same time it makes no sense the character lope finds growing wheat on the planet which is very strange ain't no way these aliens are enjoying some bread okay they're not making baguettes in the back something isn't right you know apparently

David planted this wheat but why he's an Android he doesn't need to eat to sustain himself so did the engineers plant the wheat that wouldn't make any sense because they were all killed off years ago so this bozo goes for a smoke break he steps on some alien fungi that releases spores into the air these spores enter Bozo's ear and then Oopsy Daisy rip Bozo the team comes across an engineer ship from Prometheus and approach it this second Bozo basically shoves his face into the strange alien plants and pokes them Daniels and Walter find remnants

of Shaw's presence on this ship which include her tag and a personal photo something that she definitely wouldn't have left in a random Corridor on this ship her space helmet is seen during the scene as well they find their way to the alien ship's Flight Deck upon swiping one of the flight controls a hologram of sha piloting the ship is I think we found our source so I guess the signal was just playing on repeat over and over out into space was this David's doing I guess he was trying to lure people here so he

could spread the aliens or something Daniels doesn't bring Shaw's stuff back with her for some reason you would think that those items would be kind of important I can help but find this next part funny the sick people desperately try to get back to the medbay on the ship and this whole time all I can think is is why the hell weren't you guys wearing any protective gear you're on an unknown Alien Planet you morons curan puts her own safety in Jeopardy by touching and assisting leedward onto the ship Ferris starts undressing leedward without a

face mask it's just completely insane Behavior Ferris locks Karine in the medbay with leedward the dude is having a seizure so Karine hugs him what the hell is wrong with these people so an alien brouts from leedward back it's clearly very weak right now it's a newborn just stomp on it instead Karine slips on some blood then grabs a tiny knife and waits for it to stand up and attack her the baby alien starts killing her so Ferris thinks now is a great time to open the door so she enters the medbay with a gun

and she also slips on the blood it feels like a Three Stooges skin [Music] the alien breaks the glass on this door by slamming its baby head against it in an attempt to shoot the alien feris shoots some fuel that detonates the ship come on dude really an alien baby rips out of the second Bozo as these absolute fools put their hands all over him and try and restrain him there's a pretty horrifying scene in the dark as these larger pale neomorphs attack the group a mysterious hooded man comes out of nowhere and shoots a

flare to scare the aliens away so they follow him through a giant graveyard of dead Engineers the hooded man is revealed to be David how did this guy get his body back sha did a damn good job sewing him back together I guess this planet is the same planet that they crash landed on 10 years earlier David tells them that Shaw died in the crash and the pathogen They Carried killed off all non- Botanical life back on the ship Tennessee is worried about his wife on the ground so against his better judgment he orders mother

to bring the Covenant directly above the storm so as to strengthen their calm signal apparently Droid hair grows much slower than human hair because David's long hair is blonde it's been 10 years since he crash landed here and I'm guessing any hair hair Dy he had was left on the Prometheus which implies that he hasn't cut it until just now David teaches Walter how to use a flute as he reminisces about his arrival to the planet hold it like so now compress your lips and blow into the ho gently like so I'll do the fingering

he had dumped the black Spore containers onto the planet and it killed off all of the engineers it's a pretty gruesome scene I love one of the great themes of of both Prometheus and Covenant is this idea of trying to ask big questions to the engineers people that know the answers David looks at the giant graveyard as if it's a work of art it's giving sander Cohen from Bioshock beautiful David's Garden is an exact Recreation of the Arnold bachan painting the Isle of the Dead which HR Giger also painted a version of in his biomechanical

style Rosenthal is tending to her wounds when an alien ambushes her the Covenant makes contact and Tennessee learns that there are casualties so he orders mother to bring them down further into the storm which could destroy the ship [ __ ] over everybody Tennessee is such a [ __ ] it's unbelievable all he says is leave to be safe sure dude so upworth is like all right sounds good let's jeopardize thousands of people's lives to save six people woohoo David comes face to face with the alien and he tries to com it orm shoots it

despite David's don't shoot don't shoot you have to earn its respect surprisingly he's able to kill it David is clearly upset when orm does this orm has David at gunpoint so David goes all right dude follow me I'll tell you what I'm up to and I'm definitely not leading you into a trap David has been crossbreeding and creating the perfect specimen of alien in his free time all these years what he lacked was a host because he killed them all there's about 10,000 red flags along the way but don't shoot me just follow along and

everything will be perfectly safe thank you so much for your confounding naive Oram take a look something to see when we first shot it I'm supposed to walk up to it look in and I get up to it I'm like I'm not looking in that thing man I know what happens I saw the first movie there's there's no way I'm going to look in that thing Captain Oram is impregnated by a face hugger and the embryo proceeds to burst from his [Music] chest Tennessee is told that his wife is dead so he spends like 30

seconds grieving and then it's back to business as usual wasn't this the same guy that put everybody's life in jeopardy for the same woman like what Shaw's body is found cut open and used for study by David it's surprisingly not completely decomposed after all these years he must have done something to it in order to Halt that process David kills Walter after they have a brief discussion and David realizes that Walter's new model is too much of a machine to be convinced to do anything L and Cole enter the egg room and in search of

Orum a face hugger attaches to lope Cole is able to cut it off some acid is spilled on L's face which should have burned through his head extremely fast seeing how it worked in previous movies but whatever a full-grown xenomorph jumps down at Cole killing him lope barely escapes Daniels finds a grotesque drawing of Shaw's head before she's confronted by David David tosses her around a bit forces a kiss on her and then Walter comes out of nowhere to save her is that how it's done L meets up with Daniels as the two synthetic fite

you're meant to be dead there have been a few updates since your day Daniel sets up a beacon so Tennessee can locate their position the Covenant flies down to rescue them only one of the synthetics make it out alive uh-oh which one is it the synthetics accent suggests that Walter where's David expired but we all know how much David likes acting it's pretty obvious which one it is I think but the movie still wants you to guess like come on we know it's David the xenomorph jumps on their ship Daniels goes outside to shoot the

alien Tennessee blasts it with one of the engines but it doesn't hurt it what way too much happens in this scene the alien smashes it head against the windshield of the ship nearly breaking it only to go to a different window come on dude you're almost through it then decides to attack Daniels until she uses the crane claw against it just reminds me of Toy Story what's the most effective thing against an alien the claw I hate myself I'm sorry the alien attacks the crane and then gets trapped in its grip as Daniel gets flung

off the side of the ship a second time the alien is squished by the crane but using it made the ship go off balance when Tennessee gains control of the Lander he says walk the park just like Parker said during the storm and alien walk in the park so clearly this Android isn't actually Walter anybody with half a brain can see what's coming when Walter beats David in the face during their fight David's speech becomes bubbly kind of like ash an alien I admire puracy just listen to how he talks it's your choice now brother

they me but when he joins the crew on the ship he no longer has this problem it's my duty did he borrow Walter's voice box or something also while Walter and David are fighting Daniels and lope are running down a cave Corridor then it cuts to the Walter David fight for about 30 seconds the shot Cuts away to Daniels en lope running outside and exactly 31 seconds later David runs out of the building to join them just in time he managed to cut his own hand off stop the dripping from the quote unquote wound change

into Walter's clothing and borrow his voice somehow all in the incredibly short time the crew is running not even a minute of screen time for that change he's very efficient back up on the Covenant L's face is tended to Daniels has a strange moment with Walter well David but at this point we're supposed to believe it's Walter she's unsure which synthetic this really is but fails to question him to make sure and then she has a sweet moment with Tennessee this movie contains a scene where we see a toy bird drinking from water which is

kind of neat because in the open opening scene of alien there's a toy bird shown on board the nostromo's bridge so it's kind of paying omage to that I'm not exactly sure what the bird drinking from water means but it's cool that it's there I guess mother calls Daniels to the medbay she finds lope dead inside mother tells them that there's an unidentified organism on the ship with them and it's a fully grown xenomorph despite the face hugger being on L's face for merely a few seconds it somehow had enough time to implant an embryo

inside of him which seems to emerge roughly an hour or so later and proceed to grow to full size within minutes of emergence that's craziness there's a pretty cool shot of upworth and Rick's making love in the shower and then the alien tail Rises up beneath their legs it then kills them both not going to lie it's a pretty cool looking scene it is kind of silly that someone taking a shower wouldn't be able to hear Mother in an emergency shouldn't mother automatically lower all music volume in the ship so the occupants can hear her

either that or mother should be extremely loud during emergencies it's pretty obvious at this point that Walter is actually David but in order to keep up the facade he assists Daniels an tenacy as they move through the ship hunting the alien Daniels is able to trap the [Music] alien I got you you son of a [ __ ] Tennessee opens the huge hanger doors that lead out into space the alien escapes the truck but then a second truck rolls towards Daniels she avoids it and the alien impales itself and drops into space you want to

give a girl a hand Tennessee is put into hypersleep Walter is about to put Daniels to sleep and they exchange a few words Daniels is closed into her pod and then asks Walter if he'd assist her to build the cabin on the lake when we get there will you help me build my cabin Walter stares back at her without responding obviously he has no idea what she's saying this is enough to solidify to Daniels that this is David instead of Walter David wow I didn't see that com that's like an explosive twist it's kind of

dumb that David didn't download Walter's memory banks when he took his voice box because you think that that would be pretty helpful I guess he didn't have the means or the time to do that during the 60 seconds that he had if only she questioned him earlier which he obviously should have done but whatever that would make too much sense David has a pretty iconic line here though don't let the bed bucks bite amazing I love it David regurgitates two face hugger embryos as the Covenant makes its way to origi 6 me see your [Music]

tongue when he does this he places them in a refrigerator with the human embryos they are in exactly the same type of capsule and fit perfectly in the compartments this is very unlikely given that David has been maroon for 10 years and thus had no access to current technological advances all colonist and hypersleep remain intact and undisturbed on course for Ori 6 this movie has a lot of problems but I love some of the shot composition the imagery was beautiful at times the music was pretty great and I enjoyed a lot to doal with David

and Walter maybe not the exact execution but the ideas that were present were pretty cool reallyy got announced that this film would be the second in a new alien Trilogy that would have taken place closer to and led up to the original alien I mean there's still unconnected dots do you think you know do you have any want to go back and connect those or that's why I'm doing it so you're asking these questions yeah however the future of the series became uncertain after the purchase of 20th Century Fox by Disney in December 2017 the

next film at the time titled alien Awakening was set to enter pre-production the same month and we're writing it now right okay as we speak right I'll be filming that within 14 months are you sure about that [Music] [Applause] get the [ __ ] out of here all right [Applause] let's talk about alien Romulus March 20th 2024 I posted this review on letterboxed a five out of five rating that says I am speaking this rating into existence at the time people were praying with me please God let there be another good alien movie please and

then the movie came out and guess what we won you're welcome everybody people are celebrating in the comments section on my review except for this one a num skull get the hell out of here I might be a little bit biased because I got this really cool popcorn bucket at the theater of a xenomorph head um if you're curious it opens at the top like this it's not the best designed popcorn bucket because uh I don't know it's kind of long and you have to watch the movie with this thing up in the air unless

you want to have it closed and then um open it whenever you're hungry I'm also wearing a xenomorph shirt that you can get at alien.com it says game over game over game over man it's game over hey it's pretty cute right you can get an alien shirt at alien.com now let's talk about the movie it kind of felt like the force awakens in some ways you know it's like a reboot of a classic Sci-fi that everybody loves and they took some elements from those classic movies and they just plopped them into this one get away

from her you [ __ ] get away from her you [ __ ] The Nostalgia bait did go a little overboard I think that being said though there were a lot of new creative and fun ideas in this movie and I think fed Alvarez did a pretty good job I think this movie kicks ass if I'm honest I thought Kaylee spany did a great job as rain David Johnson did an incredible job as Andy just great performances all around and I really like how it's an entirely new cast aside from one person that isn't among

the living anymore what the hell is that about can we stop with the digital necromancy please it's so weird so yeah I'm going to be getting into spoilers a little bit so if you haven't seen the movie then maybe go and watch it and come back but yeah they brought back Ian home I think it's immoral because we have no idea whether or not Ian Hol would have wanted this but they just digitized him in anyway personally I wouldn't want people taking my face and putting me in things without my permission especially after I'm dead

because I don't know like it's it's just so weird it was unnecessary plus the CGI kind of sucked ass I watched an interview with fed Alvarez after recording this and I have to mention that they did it in the most respectful way possible I still think it's morally questionable but at the same time they did try and honor him as best they could and a part of me thinks the actor probably would have liked this but still you know the first thing I did was personally I call his widow and uh and Pitch the idea

to her and make sure that she she talk with his kids and make sure the whole family wasn't bored and they you know his widow agreed that you know Ian on the last years of his life he kind of felt the cold shoulder of Hollywood that that he that he wasn't called for many projects and nothing interesting so so and he would have loved to get the call to be part of alien again because he loved that character in the very beginning of the movie they explain that the original xenomorph nicknamed big chap from Alien

1979 survived by cocooning itself in a secreted resin where it was found in the wreckage of the Nostromo by Wayan utani they were extremely lucky to find this black cocoon in the middle of space but who knows maybe their math was really good and they have very impressive scanners I don't know the cocooning ability is a new idea presented in this movie people don't like the fact that big chap survived because in the original movie he was incinerated by an engine shot with a harpoon and then withstood the blast of a ship's self-destruction so could

big chap have survived long enough to cocoon itself well obviously explosions work differently in space than they do on Earth in a number of ways firstly there wouldn't be a fireball secondly the explosion would be much flatter and there aren't enough particles in space to Transit sound or a blast wave but there would still be a lot of flying debris hot gas and radiation is it farfetched that big chap survived yeah probably but at the same time the xenomorph is supposed to be the ultimate organism but I do find it odd how bullets can kill

them rather easily but all the above wasn't enough to kill big chap I love this movie's Reliance on practical effects it looks like they literally exist in the world of alien the Sci-Fi sets are so beautiful the lighting they use perfectly sets the mood it's nice that the actors didn't have to perform in a green screen world I wish the trailers didn't give away some of the more intense scenes in the movie trailers are so important in terms of preparing the viewer for the experience in this movie's case I think they spoiled more than they

should have I also wish the writers tried to flesh out the supporting characters more it felt like rain and Andy were the only characters with any depth I know the supporting characters were mostly just fodder it just would have made the movie more compelling and more emotionally tense if I cared about the people who were dying I love the atmosphere of the movie they nailed that I think there's so many cool shots of the character there's so many beautiful shots in this movie and there's a bunch of heart pounding scenes they did so many new

and clever things with face huggers in this movie but yeah there's a moment when rain shoots a screen with Ian Holmes face on it at this moment she's running from Xenomorphs and I'm just sitting there like why would you want to alert them of your position shooting that screen did nothing I know that you're upset but come on have some self-control you're going to die there's also this serum in the movie one of her friends is injured she's pregnant as well Andy is like just give her the serum she could survive and rain's like I

don't think we should do that later on rain just gives this woman the serum hoping that she won't use it she uses it if she wasn't trustworthy of the stuff why would she leave it with the one person that needs it most they're desperate of course they're going to use it you know in the beginning of this movie a massive whalan ship arrives just above this PL this ship has a bunch of xenomorph on it apparently whan was conducting experiments on the Xenomorphs and [ __ ] went South but the characters in this movie don't

know that and they just want to use the ship to leave and go elsewhere because they hate their lives one thing is kind of weird to me why doesn't the government of this planet seize the ship you think they would do that right you would think that once this ship came into orbit they would send something up there to I don't know scan it investigate it at the very least right but they don't do that for some reason the characters do say we should probably go up there before other Pirates do so are pirates and

random kids the only people who have spaceships that can reach this massive Freer in the in space like come on and how come these kids were able to fly into space without any prevention isn't that weird in the beginning they made it seem like they were stuck there they're on this mining Planet I guess but they have to earn their way off the planet and they don't think they'll ever be able to do that so they just fly off off of it instead but they don't have the fuel or the capability to fly to a

different planet so they need the whan ship to do so You' think the government on this planet would you know come to that conclusion that pirates or whoever else would want to go up there and do stuff on this ship right but nobody does anything about this it's very strange Andy tells rain in this movie that the Xenomorphs won't attack them head on if they see that they're holding weapons which is very odd because later on they do exactly that and it's not like they behaved this way in previous movies although I guess Andy could

have been guessing but that's kind of a strange guess granted rain does mess with the gravity so the Xenomorphs could have been panicking pretty badass scene by the way I love that scene when they're all floating there and she's blasting away at them she had to turn the gravity off because their acid blood would have penetrated the ship so she shoots them in the air so their blood just kind of floats there and then they have to like push themselves through all this acid blood that's exp floding it's a really cool scene the pregnant girl

in this movie gets stabbed in the back by a xenomorph tail and dragged away and then she's attached to a wall you know with their goop or whatever she's then saved by rain and Andy I just think she survives for too long her wound must have been pretty gnarly you know what I mean she was also pregnant so maybe she was really pushing to stay alive for her child or maybe the xenomorph knew that she was pregnant and so it was like I'm going to patch you up real quick after I put you on this
