Did you know that not all vegetables are good  for diabetics? There are some that you should pay extra attention to and in this video I'm going  to tell you the seven best vegetables and also the five worst for diabetics I made this rating  based on three factors the first the weight 100 G so everyone's going to get the same portion in  the last video I also did it per portion and many people said it has to be per unit because it makes  it easier but there's no way to do it per unit how am I supposed to compare a PE to a pumpkin there's  no way so they're all the same weight 100 G the second factor I took into consideration was the  glycemic load how much sugar how much carbohydrate is in each 100 gam serving it's pretty easy  although the name glycemic load sounds strange but the concept is pretty simple to understand  it's the amount of sugar carbohydrate that is in each food many diabetics aren't amiliar with  this concept because everyone only talks about the glycemic index which is how much a certain food  will increase your blood sugar that's what the glycemic index is but the glycemic load is just as  important if not more important than the glycemic index so in this video I'm going to consider the  glycemic load and number three which I also took into account in our ranking is the amount of  fiber in each 100 G serving got it and which ones are the best starting with our top seven list  the number one is eggplant every 100 G of eggplant contains 6 G of carbohydrates and 3 G of fiber so  it's a great choice of vegetable for diabetics as it won't raise your blood sugar additionally there  are scientific studies showing that eggplant May improve blood fats can improve your lipid profile  this is another plus point because many diabetics also need to watch their cholesterol so eggplant  is a great vegetable in that case what about eggplant juice you guys always ask here in the  comments does it work for diabetes there's no scientific evidence there's no big study that  actually proves that eggplant juice works for diabetes so here eat the eggplant don't drink  juice or take pills okay number two carrot carrots are carotenoids and have several beneficial  functions in our body not only for vision most people associate eating carrots with improving  Vision but carrots contain sever other minerals vitamins and even Aid in intestinal health and  carrots are included in our classification here because every 100 G contains 6 G of carbohydrates  from sugars and 2. 9 G of fiber so it's another great vegetable for Health number three and this  one I really like is also on the list of the best foods in the world broccoli broccoli besides being  a source of magnesium vitamin A vitamin C and vitamin K it also has calcium iron so broccoli can  be helpful in various situations you just have to be careful not to cook it for more than 20 minutes  because some studies show that after 20 minutes you can lose some of its benefits many people ask  oh but doesn't broccoli harm the thyroid no it's a myth broccoli doesn't harm the thyroid if you  have a problem like hyperthyroidism you can eat it without any worry and if you don't broccoli is  not going to cause or induce any thyroid disease this myth was created did because of a study done  on rats in which the rats only ate cruciferous broccoli and cauliflower and these rats developed  Goa a condition where the thyroid enlarges and also experienced hormonal problems hormonal  disturbances in the thyroid but this does not occur in humans there's no scientific study that  shows that broccoli is bad for the thyroid so you can be assured if you like broccoli know that it  will provide health benefits and it won't cause thyroid problems for every 100 G of broccoli you  get 7 G of carbohydrates and 2.
